Review and analyze now for company Dallas Plumbing & Air Conditioning and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''These guys are top notch. I am a single mom of two, I know nothing of home improvement.
I did see some unfavorable reviews but I'm glad I called any way. The woman in dispatch was so nice and kind and calming when I called panicked about a leak in my guest bathroom.
Water was flowing into the floor from a clogged sink. She sent two plumbers out within an hour and a half.
They were very respectful, kind, informative, helpful and cleared the problem promptly. Give them a call! ORIGINAL REVIEW 9/30/2024 Avoid Dallas Plumbing Company like the plague.
I've used them for years but a few days ago when I called them about a broken water heater, they came out and quoted me a tankless water heater. I paid half down.
When the technician came back to install it. He showed up with a tank water heater and that he could do it for the same price since they couldn't install a tankless one at my house.
They eventually agreed to send me a new quote which was about $1800 less than I'd already paid and said they'd refund the difference. They installed the water heater and left.
Then I got another call Friday claiming that they'd refund my money but it would take 4-6 weeks and they could sell me more services in the meantime. Today no one answer the phone.
UPDATE 11/6/2024: Dallas Plumbing contacted me several times trying to get me to modify my reviews. Apparently they only refund your money if you'll sign an NDA not to talk about your experience so apparently I will not be getting a refund.
Unfortunately I paid with a check that they must have deposited before the crew came back with the water heater since it had already cleared my account the next morning when I called my bank to stop payment. This is a scam.
They scammed me out of $750 and wouldn't return my call when I called to complain to the manager. AVOID.
These people are trash. In July of 2024 I called them out to clean my AC unit.
My house was about to be on the market and the realtor suggested it. The house was four years old and I never had any issues with my AC.
After they came my AC just didn't work. It was 80F in the house and suddenly couldn't cool down??? They claimed that there was a leak and they needed to pump up to 5lb of refrigerant into the system to get it to work again? Strange since it was working perfect until the day the came.
My house was supposed to be listed on the market that day so I had no choice but to pay their ransom of $750....they knew I wouldn't be able to sell a home in July in Texas when it was 80F. This is a shady business, I've never felt so duped.
This company is horrible. They tried to charge my 85 year old father more than double what it cost to replace his HVAC system.
Which it didn't have to be replaced except they scared him into thinking it had to be done. Every time they come to his house they upcharge him for everything.
He had a issue with his toilet and they pulled his toilet and left it sitting in the middle of the room for more than a week. We ended up calling another company to fix it.
Their repair people are paid on commission so the more they can up sale the more they make. Don't walk - run as far as you can from this company.
NOT the same Dallas Plumbing Company. BEWARE! Scammers looking to run up a big repair tab.
Now calling to say you have a credit with them to get you to call and schedule preventative maintenance! Shame on you! Where do I even begin. This company will not own up to its mistakes.
We had a toilet clogged and called them out. While in the process of trying to open the clean out pipe the employee broke the clean out pipe about 3 inches down, and instead of him coming to the front door to let us know, he continued on with what he was doing.
After he left, we went out to make sure the caps on the pipes were closed, and saw that the pipe was broken. He came back out 2 days later to talk to us, and said he didn't break it.
I spent an entire day trying to get a hold of someone in management to address this problem. And when I finally did here is what we got..
The manager first talked over us numerous times, and kept talking to us as if we were children. He said that his employee broke the pipe while trying to get the cap off because our pipes are so corroded, but earlier in the day his employee told us he didn't break it.
So which one is it? Then in the same conversation the manager said that there is no way a human can break a cast iron pipe. But you just said he broke it while he was trying to get the cap off? Then when I asked what the solution was to fix their mistake, he said there wasn't a solution, that his employee breaking it was "unfortunate".
All we called this company out for was to fix a problem with our toilet being clogged, instead we now have a broken clean out pipe that we have to figure out how to fix. We should have listened to our gut with the recent 1 star reviews, but instead we decided to go with them because we know that people can be harsh leaving reviews for no reason.
In this case, believe the reviews. Dallas Plumbing has failed to repair damage to my home that was caused by their technician who was under the influence of alcohol(and driving a vehicle).
I repeatedly asked the technician not to climb on my rafters, but he argued with me and did it anyway. Breaking the rafter.
After repeated calls to Scott Bidwell, the general manager, nothing has been done to repair the damage. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
The original owners sold the business 2 years ago to a big out-of-state firm, and now the business is crap. We had Dallas Plumbing & Air Conditioning come out to fix our home AC unit.
I was fairly positive the issue was the capacitor, which turned out to be the case. Unfortunately I was traveling and couldn't be home to fix it myself - I'm no expert but do know the part is generally less than $40 and it's a very simple 5-minute task.
As such, I'm assuming they took advantage of just my wife being present and charged $383. I had estimated $200-$250 at most (given the labor call out, etc.) - even though they rescheduled 3 different times and ended up not coming until the next day.
When my wife challenged the price being charged, a call center sales rep dialed in to try to sell a membership to get a 20% discount on this service instead of adjusting to a reasonable price. Thankfully the 'membership' offer was declined so no more money was contributed to this scheme.
We'll be finding a company that has integrity next time. I hope $383 was worth having a ONE-TIME customer.
They canceled my appointment without contacting me. Wasted a whole day waiting for a technician that was never going to show.
I have used Dallas Plumbing for at least 30 years. It was a good company until it was bought by Air Pros.
Now they over charge, using a flat rate table that makes no sense. To replace a few feet of copper pipe and fittings they charged $2405.
If the pipe leak was not an emergency, I would have gotten quotes, but it was flooding the house. The plumber had basic skills, but his English was so poor I could not understand what he was saying.
They claimed to have replaced parts that they did not replace. I will not use them again.
Avoid this company at all costs. In the last year and a half, service quality and customer relations have declined markedly.
Dr. Michael E.
Norris July 21, 2023 I have used Dallas Plumbing multiple times over the years and always got good service but not anymore. I was confused why they were now so bad.
The phone person seems to be a random call center now. The plumbers that came out did a bad job and my issue was worse after they left than before they came.
And they charged 2-3 times what a normal charge is. This had never happened with Dallas Plumbing before.
I did an online search and realized the company was sold. This is no longer really Dallas Plumbing.
I will not be using them again. Find someone else! for our AC never showed up when they were schedule PLUS told us we needed a $2400 part and in reality we just needed a new filter.
awful! beware. The repairman came promptly and was professional in his diagnosis of the air conditioning problem.
He gave sound advice about the maintenance of the unit. Dealing with him was a positive experience.
I will use this company in the future. BEWARE -- predatory sales tactics to seniors.
They tell you you need to replace a water heater that is working fine and only half-way through its life. Then they charge double the going rate ($4000 for a water heater!) and bill 50% up front charged to your credit card.
Then, when you cancel (within hours, before they have done any work), they don't refund your money. You call and call and they don't return your calls or refund your money.
It is theft and they are doing it to vulnerable seniors. AVOID them at all costs!!! Kenny did an inspection of our A/C to make sure we were ready for summer.
He messaged to let us know his ETA and arrived on time. He was very thorough and kept me informed as he inspected.
Very satisfied with the service! It took me 5 days to have the service I needed done. It was terrible.
I paid $950.00 for one cheap plastic toilet. I spoke with 9 different people and even hung up on.
The first time I called I was connected to someone in Florida and put on hold for 10 minutes while a scary "plumber" waited in my house. It was very uncomfortable.
I tried to find them on the better business website to late for me but you might want to check it out! Dallas plumbing is not the same company it use to be. Don't walk, run away when you see them coming.
What a nightmare! Warning stay clear from Dallas Plumbing. Technician came to give us a estimate on new A/C unit.
His quote was 100% higher and wanted to replace things that did not need to be replace. He was very aggressive with no communication skills.
I have used this company a few times as I have had quite a few A/C and HVAC issues. Now I'm starting to think that these guys were the issue.
However, I scheduled an appointment with Dallas Plumbing on 11/16 and a technician came out. He said that the DATS sensor in my HVAC was bad and needed to be replaced.
He told me that the cost of replacement would be $383.00, which I paid. My appointment for replacement was to be 11/17 "first thing in the morning." No one came.
I called in the afternoon, figuring they got busy. Their answering service said that someone would call me back--they didn't.
I called again and again over the next few days while my wife suffered the frigid temperature in my house. Every time, the answering service would tell me that they made a note and that a supervisor would call me back promptly--they didn't.
One answering service agent said she'd call me back personally--she didn't. Although they acknowledged that there was supposed to be an appointment on 11/17, no one could provide any answers as to why no one showed up or provide any idea of when (if ever) they would come.
Even to get a refund for the sensor I've never seen and will never receive, the call service could only tell me that a supervisor will call me shortly. I'm not holding my breath.
In short... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Senior abuse Warning!!! In June, my Dad paid $27,000 (in advance) to have an existing 5-ton a/c unit swapped out in his home. Dallas Plumbing did a poor, unsupervised job of this installation.
The tech didn't connect the drain lines correctly. Primary was connected to the secondary, resulting in condensation water dumping on the roof and running down the outside wall for a couple of months.
The joints weren't sealed up properly because there's water standing in the drain pan, and the drip is obvious. When I notified Dallas Plumbing that they had the drain lines crossed, we scheduled an appointment.
The installer showed and stated that he hadn't done that part -- a 2nd tech had come in after him and connected the lines. He didn't fix the issue, only took pictures and left.
The 2nd installer was supposed to come after the 1st left and never did. Dad scheduled a 2nd appointment, then a 3rd, a 4th.
All no shows!!!! The same tech who originally said he couldn't fix it, showed at 6:30am today. He seemed frustrated, maybe hates his job and I felt like he was taking it out on me.
I asked him if he had a problem, and I felt threatened by the way he responded. Then he just blew on by me and went in the house.
I've never experienced such a disrespect for the customer -- both my Dad and me. (My Dad had been a customer of Dallas Plumbing for years and they had been reputable and had done good work for him.
We have found out that the company was recently sold, so maybe that's part of the problem. Not only are they grossly overcharging for service, but their attitude and workmanship has gone to shit.
Also of note, when my dad called about the first no-show, the dispatcher/scheduler person told him that they were having lots of turnover and employee retention issues. I can understand why.) I called Dallas Plumbing, the man who answered, David, I asked to speak to a supervisor.
Ended up being told that Carlos would call me back. Carlos called and we played phone tag twice.
Carlos asked for me to call him back. I called back and David at Dallas Plumbing said that "[I've] already left 4 messages and it's not going to make Carlos call me back any quicker...." I explained that Carlos and I had talked, and that Carlos had asked me to call him back.
David restated that I couldn't leave anymore messages! I asked David to please do his job and pass the message along. I had to raise my voice and didn't like it one bit.
Carlos hasn't called me back. In my frustration, I called the city Building Inspectors to see if they could do anything to help us out.
They said that no permit was issued or applied for!! Unbelievable! Beware, unsupervised installation of gas appliances could be catastrophic and the state has strict laws about this. The licensed contractor is required to be present if apprentices or someone else is installing the unit.
That way, its installed properly according to city building codes. I'm a retired home builder/contractor.
I know what I'm talking and writing about. Do yourself a favor and don't use this company for anything, you'll regret it!!! BEWARE! I do not recommend this company at all.
We were told our repair was going to be $26K (actually gave us options of $6K and 29K) We said we wanted a second opinion and it dropped to $2400. We still go a second opinion and the problem was fixed for $199.
This is SO concerning and borders on criminal. If we had not gotten a second opinion, we would be out some serious money.
I scheduled a duct cleaning and when they came out for an estimate, my ac was running fine. Once the sales guy got here, he did something with my ac and it stopped working out of the blue.
He proceeded to tell me I needed a new unit because it was broken now. I scheduled the air duct cleaning which was $800 which seemed very high for a 1,100 square feet home.
When the guy returned the next day I told him I needed my ac fixed bc something wasn't adding up. He managed to figure out that one cord "was not connected" and then it turned on perfectly fine.
The cleaning was fine but I do not recommend this company. GET TWO COMPETING BIDS BEFORE SIGNING ANYTHING!! Air Pros bought Dallas Plumbing in May 2022.
They are NOT yet accredited with the BBB, which IMO is to preclude a venue for derogatory reviews. (See BBB Air Pros in Hollywood and Ft Lauderdale Florida reviews).
The new Dallas Plumbing Air Pros LLC business plan appears to be to replace an entire system AT TRIPLE PRICING rather than a simple repair, even if still under warranty. They are milking the Dallas Plumbing established customer base for exorbitant profit.
They do not provide model numbers of equipment on bids OR invoices so as to obfuscate pricing. BEWARE!! I've used Dallas Plumbing since 2013 and always had great service...until now.
Seems they are now part of Air Pro. I had who I thought was Dallas plumbing come out on 4/24/23 to do the spring checkup.
They sent 2 guys who end up telling me BOTH my a/c units have developed a hole in their coil and are both leaking Freon. Then a 3 guy shows up and they start telling me the units could fail at any second and should be replaced immediately.
Also, there is a hole in the duck work that needs to be repaired. Everything will be done for a mere $55,000.
Sean says he will "give" me an extended warranty valued at $10,000 dollars at "no charge" bringing my out of pocket to $44,578.00. Neither of my Carrier Infinity thermostats have registered any alerts.
If something is wrong, an orange light comes on with a message telling me what's wrong. I purchased my A/C units in 2013 for $16,000 and got a $300 rebate.
Additionally, I have asked repeatedly for detailed paperwork telling me exactly what work they did while they were in my home. I've gotten nothing but they have charged my credit card for $199.
I don't know if the charge is for work done or the spring/fall checkup, so I've contacted my credit card company to dispute the charges. NEVER using this company again.
They have become scam artists and con men. The one star is only because Yelp won't allow you to give NO STARS.
This was the most unprofessional and unorganized company. I called them out for a plumbing issue at a rent house.
They missed the 1st schedule call. I wax told they finally made it two day later which was news to me.
No call No estimate it been 4 calls and 5 days and still NO return call and NO INFO. if I could I would give them a ZERO!!! STAY AWAY!!! If I could give this company 0 stars I would.
I scheduled an appointment for simple routine maintenance work and had a confirmed time four days in advance. On the day of the appointment this company no showed with no notice or communication.
After 3 calls to inquire as to the status of the appointment I could not get an update from this company's reps. Finally at the end of the day I was contacted with an excuse of high volume and to offer a reschedule of the appointment for a weekend day, no thanks! BEWARE! Talk about a company that likes to move the goal posts! Been dealing with this company for 2 years now, out $1700, and they want more money from to come back out and fix my plumbing issue--which btw, still isn't fixed! They told me 2 years ago that if I did the fix they suggested it would fix the issue.
Currently it has failed 3 times since the initial fix and now are telling me that I have a bigger problem with either my foundation (I have 42 piers around and in my house), have a water leak (meter isn't turning), or whatever else they can pull out of their rear ends. Maybe it just wasn't a very thorough investigation from the initial get go, maybe they hire sub par plumbers, maybe they don't know what they are talking about...whatever it is, they made a promise that "this" would fix my issue and it didn't.
When trying to explain this to them, they tell me that they are under new management and that the old management shouldn't have done that or said that etc etc etc. Stand by your promise and fix it, don't blame past management, or just refund my money and lets move on.
This company is a disaster and hopefully a small claims court case against them will prove that! Please think twice before contacting this company for Air Conditioning work. We called them about a mold problem in our ducts.
They came out and said this involves a two phase process. They completed Phase 1.
But the problem is with Phase 2. They scheduled an appointment to come out and called us at the last moment to reschedule.
This happened 2 times. Now on the 3rd reschedule appointment, well that was a NO SHOW.
Keep in mind that they give you 4-5 hour window, so you have to make arrangements with our office/work to be at home. I'm very disappointed in how they are treating us.
I'm so glad that we did not pay for Phase 1 and waited until the job was done. They were supposed to come, identify and repair gas leak.
Two "plumbers" showed up, were very unprepared for the job and after a lot of discussion and trial and error they were not able to find the leak. Still was charged $299 for the two hours they both were here and was told I was lucky because they only charged the hours of one "plumber".
I am constantly surprised at the lack of professionalism in the plumbing business and how in today's customer experience world that they are still allowed to get away with this. Unfortunately I have not yet found a company in this area that really cares about customer experience.
These guys do not make it and the search continues. I was disappointed with Dallas Plumbing.
They used the camera for about 10 minutes before I stopped the and they charged me full price When I asked for a partial refund, they laughed, and would not refund any of that price. I also asked them to work with the insurance company for payment, and they said they "could not see through concrete." I will not be recommending Dallas plumbing.
These guys are the best of the best we have used them for everything plumbing related from heat and air to toilets..So good always prompt always good and always back up what they sell...Also they are less expensive that the fly by night guys you think are cheap but cost you big time when they do not know what they are doing...ask me how I know.... I have used this company twice and both times were a disaster.
I recently had them fix a weld on a hot water tank they installed and replace a pop-up drain in a master bath lavatory. The kid they used to install the pop-up, over-tightened the pop-up and shattered a sink I can no longer obtain.
That sucks since there were two matching sinks. Subsequently, I had to have them out 5 times to fix a leak created by their repair kid under the sink.
Additionally they drained the hot water tank into a fiberglass whirlpool tub cracking it. This is literally thousands of dollars in damage.
They sent out their insurance company who later sent out a letter denying the claim; that I had to prove they did the damage. There is no way I would use this company again.
That's why one uses a bonded plumber. Total disappointment and infuriation.
I assume the person that found my review of Dallas Plumbing funny must be in some way associated with this outfit. It's really not funny having to spend thousands of dollars to totally remodel a bathroom because of people that don't know what they are doing.
Being bonded means nothing when they have a smart ass insurance company. If you use this company I recommend videoing the entire experience.
I also just read what Dallas Plumbing said about my house and the materials it was constructed with by their own company. I find it insulting.
There was nothing wrong with these fixtures when they arrived at my home. If there was, why did they not point out these problems to begin with ???????? If you want your house belittled and insulted by a company that doesn't know what they are doing; this is the company for you.
I wish I had never heard of this company. Their other customers seem to agree.
DON'T INSULT MYSELF OR MY HOUSE (THATS SLEAZY) What a great experience! This company is upfront, reliable and really took care of our issues. We had an upstairs shower that busted that they quickly and thoroughly fixed.
We also needed a new water heater with a re-circulator needing to be installed; this job was once again done quickly and professionally. Their technicians were so friendly and always were their with a smile.
We won't use anyone else for our plumbing needs. Don't waste your time with these guys.
They put an AC unit in out building on a Tuesday morning. It worked for about an hour or so.
Called them to come back and it's now Friday and they finally came to fix the issue. They left to got get a part over 2 hours ago and have yet to show back up.
It's 90+ degrees in the building and we are a Fortune 500 company with a very large account with them. Time to make a change.
6 day's later and several phone calls back in forth with management and it was repaired. Called them on Saturday so that I could get in line for service on Monday.
Today is Monday: 1.They did not call me Monday morning. Strike one.
2. Strike two.
I called them at 09:15 am (they open at 07:00). I asked them about my call from Saturday.
"Oh, we haven't checked those calls yet". 3.
Strike 3. I told them that I have no water to the house.
They said the earliest they could get to me would be tomorrow afternoon. These people have no sense of urgency.
4. Strike 4.
I had to dial through a menu system to get to a person. Cost: $99 for first half hour, $55 for each half hour afterwords.
One man. No follow through!!! They came out the next day and meticulously measured my house for a new 5 ton air conditioner.
I was promised a quote the next day. That was three weeks ago, and I haven't heard a peep.
Another company came out the day after I called them and gave me 5 quotes within 30 minutes for different systems and level of repair. Then they did the work the next day (on a Saturday).
If Dallas Plumbing Company can't give me a simple estimate, why would I want to let them replace my air conditioner? After reading some great reviews of Dallas Plumbing Co, I thought I might have found my plumbing company. Unfortunately, I was wrong.
I moved into my home on Monday and quickly realized that my laundry room was not setup for a gas dryer, and I had a gas dryer. I called on Monday mid-day to see if someone could come take a look.
They were able to send someone out the next day on Tuesday. The plumber showed up within the specified timeframe.
He took a look and said it should a very easy job since the water heater was on the other side of the same wall with a bigger than normal valve, which it make it easier to split. He said I should expect to receive a proposal later that night or Wednesday morning.
On Wednesday afternoon, I called the office to follow up. I left a voice message for the actual tech who came out.
I also sent him an email. It's Thursday afternoon, and I still haven't heard back.
I will be taking my business elsewhere, If I could give 0 stars I would. These idiots installed an AC unit 3 years ago.
I've called them 4 times to repair it since then. 3 of those times have been in the last 6 months.
They give you zero explanation of why it keeps breaking. I spoke with Mark the customer serive manager.
Hes the reall jerk of the bunch. He gives me some hair brain analogy of how he had a refrigerator that kept breaking and it's just something that happens.
I'm thinking to myself so your goal is to get over on me because you had to deal with a bad refrigerator. Dont let the name of the company fool you.
These people have no integrity at all. Check out the date of the google reviews.
As soon as a negative review is posted they magically come out with 10 excellent reviews. Just scammers all around.
Absolutely the best plumbing and AC company in Dallas! The best service, and the highest quality. John and Rolondo were out today for my annual A/C service check.
Very thorough and professional. Got a lesson on filters! They both wore masks and kept their distance.
They told me of a potential problem with my compressor that may occur on down the road and I appreciate the "heads-up". I can always depend on Dallas Plumbing! We had an issue with our a.c.
last summer. We had some bad experiences with other ac companies.
Through our realtor we met Aaron . Who was able to diagnose the problem and had the it fixed in a short time.
Aaron is a true professional that delivers great service. I would definitely use Dallas Plumbing again in the future.
Was charged $423 for them to tell me they have to replace a line they're ripping people off Not sure how good the plumbing work is, but they sure love to run you off the road by cutting you off and no turn signal as well as speeding through heavy traffic! Have a pic of said vehicle, wish i could upload it. Service was great, however when guys left i guess they forgot to turn the hot water back on? The reason i'm writing a negative review is that i have just tried all 3 of their phones numbers listed and even texted the one that on the website says "text or call" and have gotten no answer.
the phone rings and rings with no vm. the text response was this # is no longer receiving messages.
Really???? Happy to change this review if i can ever get hold of them. They get 2 stars because I have used them in the past and have been pleased.
They seem to have changed of late - and I am no longer pleased. Called on Saturday about a leak and was told I would get a call first thing Monday.
12:45 - no call. I called them and spoke with a very pleasant woman that apologized and transferred me to scheduling.
I then got the most outwardly hostile young woman on the phone that I have ever spoken with. She was nasty and disrespectful.
I had the phone up to my ear, but a coworker was able to hear her disrespectful and hostile tone and told me afterward that he was shocked by her attitude. Was going to call a supervisor about her, but after reading these reviews I am glad that I didn't waste the time and energy.
Also, couldn't get someone out to check the leak for 5 days. Not a good experience at all.
I was driving on the service road along U.S. Route 80, and there was heavy congestion on the highway.
So instead of getting off at the off-ramp like a law-abiding citizen, the Dallas Plumbing Company driver careens off the grassy separation between the highway and the service road right in front of my vehicle. Mind you, I was going at least 45 mph when it crossed into my path.
If this is any indication of the type of work your company does, then people who use your service should watch your work carefully to make sure shortcuts are not taken. Obviously, your company works with people who care not to follow rules and the law.
Your workers and drivers are representatives of your company, therefore, they have casted a terrible light on you all. Needed to change a pedestal sink which can be quite tricky.
Joshua and Vincent did a fantastic job replacing it. They were very professional, checked all their work and cleaned up after.
Top notch service! This company employees the best plumbers in town. I needed a water heater replacement after a leak and this company did everything right for me.
They scheduled when I needed them and showed up on time. The two workmen were polite and super helpful.
Despite the job needing a lot of work to come up to code after 21 years (that's how old the old water heater was), the work came in under estimate. Thank you! Rip off!!! Do not use them unless you'd like to overpay.
They came out to replace the capacitor on my AC unit. It's a part that is less than $20.00, but they charged me 149.00.
The tech that came out was Jesus. Lied right to my face to tell me the only part he had costs a lot more.
Not to mention, just coming to my house costs 99.00. Total: 261.18.
He was there for 30 min. Not going to have lasting customers when you treat them like this! called they came 6/5/19 in 10 min, they left orderd parts came back after 10 calls 6/13/19 with the incorrect part installed gas valve on water heater $496.00 still no hot water called 6 times to see what was up.
said they had to order a gas burner and polit now they had no idea when they would be back to correct there problem at a cost to me with no hot water for 9 days plus they have 2 days then i calling another co. We truly appreciate the level of service and urgency the the DPC staff provided this week on our new A/C unit and ductwork, which is precisely why Dallas Plumbing Co continues to retain my family's service for life for a 2nd generation.
Thorough and thoughtful estimate; methodical, professional, heads-down technicians who left working spaces cleaner than they found them. No! No! No! over charged! Not told that even if they show up to collect their equipment, a 5 minute task, i would be charged a $60 fee! WTF!!! If you use these guys, watch your time and watch your wallet! NOT GOOD BUSINESS! They don't care about their service reviews and reputation as you can plainly see on yelp, but they do care about their fees! First visit: Arrived on time.
After one hour on site announced that he had stripped a nut in the assembly. He called the mfg.
co (Blanco) but they indicated they did not send parts to individuals and he would have to go to a retailer. He then told reviewer that I would be responsible for replacing the part he damaged.
He DID leave me with the diagram assembly instructions with the damaged part marked. (THEY should have found a replacement part themselves.) After 2 weeks of searching to replace the part, I was able to get the replacement part.
Second Visit: Appointment was set for 915am. 830am - no warning call as promised.
930am - no plumber 945am - Called office. Was told "the plumber" had an emergency.
Unable to make call. She said that office had called me AND left a voicemail that another plumber would come "later".
My cell phone did NOT have an incoming call logged from them - NOR was there any voicemail. She did not know WHEN the replacement would arrive.
I told her to call, find out and call me back immediately as I had appointments. 1028am - Office finally calls back and says it will be 2pm - which I agreed to 1133am - Office calls (as I am walking out the door) and says plumber is on his way.
1210pm - Plumber arrives. After just a few minutes he shows me that was the nut stripped by the first plumber, but the connecting sprayer hose was also stripped and warped by the first plumber.
There is no way to complete the job. I am told I need to get the sprayer hose replaced by the mfg.
company - AGAIN no offer to track it down by the company. THIS COMPANY WILL NOT GET A THIRD CHANCE - DO NOT USE THEM The first hint not to use this company is the fact they are so reluctant to give you any sort of price range.
I understand that you cannot give me an exact price, but I did describe the issue so I would think a price range is fair. I mean is it going to be a couple hundred or a couple thousand?? People do not just have a couple thousand laying around, so I would need to plan if it is going to be that high.
Regardless of that, I still asked them to come by (shame on me). They got to my house and looked at where the problem is.
They told me that the issue was my sprinkler system and they gave me 2 choices of how it can be fixed. 1.
They could cap off the system to stop the leak but I would not be able to use my sprinkler; or 2. They could dig up both sides of my sidewalk and replace the piping which would take much longer.
I do not use my sprinkler system and I wanted this to be completed soon, so I chose option 1. They said if I wanted to replace the pipe at a later time I could.
They spent a couple hours doing the work, only to tell me that that didn't fix the issue and the pipe is still leaking. They could come back tomorrow and fix the actually issue but I would still have to pay for what they did today.
So basically out of the 2 choices they gave me, the second choice is what would have actually fixed the problem and the first choice did nothing. I find it ridiculous that they would tell me what the issue is, give me options and then tell me that they really just spent time fixing nothing but it will cost me $250.
A decent company would have apologized and then offered to fix the real problem not charging me for the nonsense that was done today. I will not be using this company in the future not will I be recommending it to any homeowners I know.
They were responsive to a burst pipe call and were able to arrive within a few hours. However my issue is that I was quoted a price over the phone for the service call itself upfront and then an additional fee per 15 min increments thereafter which differed from actual billing at the time the tech wrote the invoice.
The tech couldn't fix the issue in its entirety due to the cold temps but got it temporarily patched until temps warmed up. I was told to call the office and to schedule them to come back out in a few days when the temps warmed up and that my initial service fee would be waived and it would be like they never left my house since they could finish the job on the first visit.
Although the company allowed me to pay what I was quoted over the phone at completion of the service visit, when I called to schedule the followup to get them to come back out, they said in order for them to come back out they were going to charge me the initial $99 fee again because I didn't pay it in full on my first visit! That's horrible!! They already got their initial service fee out of me and it's pretty shady of them to try to charge me again for it to recoup lost monies from an employee quoting the wrong fees on the front end. Although the tech that came was courteous and did what he could to do a quick fix, I wouldn't recommend or hire this company again.
Sorry I called this place! Set up an appointment to have a tech come out and do a "Silver Star Service Plan" on my HVAC, which is a 15 point inspection for the Summer and Winter for $145. For the money, that's a good deal in my opinion.
I asked if I could schedule them to install a remote indoor sensor while the tech was out here. I ASKED THIS SO I WOULD NOT BE CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL SERVICE CALL and because I had a limited amount of time; took a half-day off.
The guy in dispatch said that the tech would have to see what type of thermostat system I have, and then they would have to order the right sensor to match. I did the research myself, bought the sensor and wire and called back dispatch/service to let them know that I had the correct equipment.
A different person answered then who I originally spoke to. I told her the whole story and she said that it should not be a problem for the tech to install the sensor while he was here doing the service plan inspection.
She said that if there was a problem, the dispatcher would call me back at one of the two numbers they had on file for me. Never heard back, so I presumed we were good to go.
The tech showed up and had no idea he was supposed to do the install of the remote sensor. He said he didn't have the equipment (fish-tape) and he would need a second person.
I called dispatch/service and the very nice lady said they could come back out there this afternoon with a second person and take care of it this afternoon. I already took a half day off for this and could not afford to take a whole day off.
Plus I would now be charged for an additional laborer. I wired (2) triple-pole switches in my master bath all the way to the panel by myself, which included fish-taping by MYSELF; did not need a helper.
I thought it would be worth the time to have them do it for me ASSUMING they had the basic equipment and skills to do it with one person, but I guess I was wrong and I'm doing it myself. If they had notified the tech in advance and let him know what work he would be doing, it would have saved me a lot of aggravation.
I work in the service industry and their lack of follow-up was horrendous. These folks know plumbing! I had rented for a while but had used them several years ago for a tankless water heater and several other repairs.
What that means is they quickly diagnose the issue and make the repair. They came out yesterday and looked at my shower/water too cold issue.
I thought I might even have to replace the entire unit. The Dallas Plumbing rep quickly determined the issue and had it fixed a few short minutes later.
That means I saved $ so I am happy! Will be calling them again! I used this company twice. The workers were rude.
One man even scolded me when I asked if he could please put on booties before entering my home (he had on dirty boots and I have small children who play on the floor a lot). Also expensive.
Unless you're looking for a way to multiply your utility bills nearly 10-fold and take cold showers for months, bankrupt, discourage and stress your family, never call Dallas Plumbing Co. The short story: It is stunning how dishonest and untrustworthy this company is.
They diagnosed an insanely expensive repair job - $3471 - to dig under our slab foundation and fix a hot water pipe. The company refused to stand behind their work and admit they had made a mistake when the next months' bills showed the problem had greatly worsened.
Dallas Plumbing then attempted to charge us for unauthorized repairs on another pipe, all while claiming that they needed to do additional diagnostic work to find the original problem. Bottom line, it has taken nearly 3 months and $3,471.00 to have nothing fixed, numerous arguments with an incredibly rude, belligerent, lying, snake of a plumber (Brian Giboney), we still have no hot water, and there is no end in sight.
Even sadder is the fact that their boss, Mark Wissler, doesn't see anything wrong with this situation. This is a fantastic company-- hire them with confidence.
On time, responsive, efficient, competent, polite, and reasonably priced. True professionals-- what more could you want from your plumber? Massive rip off.
Second time I have been overcharged hourly because they don't have parts and have to travel to go get them. Second time that the charge to fix was more than the cost of complete replacement.
Why wouldn't they tell you this? Unethical. Dallas Plumbing is a wonderful, family owned (100+ years) company...that alone is impressive! Their staff is very knowledgable and are reasonably priced.
We will always call Dallas Plumbing for any of our plumbing or HVAC needs! I had work done 6 weeks ago. I called today for similar leak gushing out on to the street.
They said that they didn't check their answering service(!) and they could not get anyone out to help for at least another day . New, established Plumbing company came out right away.
Dug up what Dallas Plumbing did to find my new leak. Showed me water gathering at the Dallas Plumbing repair spot.
Who could have seen this? The materials used was not what is recommended by building codes, thus the leak. My $1200 repair was still leaking thanks to Dallas Plumbing.
Oh, and they disconnected with me before they could put my name on their their appointment cancellation list. Overall, disappointing service on an expensive job.
The company responded to my Facebook review. Apparently the plumber on call was mistaken and they do not charge overtime for situations like the one I experienced.
They told me to contact someone directly who was very kind, helpful and understanding. The reason I'm not giving a higher review is because I was told they would be there between 11 and 2 and they didn't arrive until 3:30.
Again, I understand things happen but if you don't have the time/luxury to sit around, I would recommend a different company. I will say the plumbers were incredibly nice and fixed the problem quickly! Had a water line break at the main in the evening and called for an after hours repair.
They got out within 30 mins and made sure to inquire about the break to ensure he would have the right parts when he arrived. Fantastic communication.
Fantastic work. and even told us it would be cheaper if he came in the morning since it was after hours.
Was Very Very impressed with the whole service call! Thanks I called late on a Wednesday and needed an a/c guy, there was one at my house way quicker than I thought/ on the same day/. He diagnosed the problem and repaired it very quickly.
He was very knowledgeable and very clean and polite. His name was Tom and I'd surly let him work on my a/c again!! I've used Dallas Plumbing several times and have always been well pleased! Do NOT use Dallas Plumbing Co.
They have no idea how to fix an air conditioning problem. They have been out to fix our air 7 times and dont seem to know what they're doing.
We have a Carrier and it's an awful unit too. Go through other services and products.
Do not use these people. Plumber arrived on time to assess why water heater was leaking.
After short assessment, said it was shot and would shut if off, but he would set things up so neighboring tank would be operable while I figured out long term plan/replacement. Next thing i know is I see the plumber soaking wet running around the front yard.
I look in the garage and water is pouring down from the attic where tanks are located. He had broken a pipe and was now needing to shut off main water line.
I give the plumber credit, he called a cleaning crew right away to get water off floors and set up six fans to dry out ceiling and attic. He said "they(dallas plumbing) would take care of it".
After 2 hours, i'm presented with a bill that plumber said is discounted to take into consideration the wasted time on the broken pipe/water damage. I dont think it was discounted.
In any event, I paid as I wanted the event to be over with and I just wanted the hot water from the remaining tank to be accessible again. He said the water from that tank should be hot again in about an hour.
Well ~20 hours later and still no hot water. I called them, and fortunately after some complaining I was moved to the top of their schedule.
Two guys arrived fairly quickly and corrected the problem in about 30 minutes. 13 days have passed and I havent seen them coming / offering to take care of the ceiling damage caused by the original plumber.
Im guessing i never will. Dealing with Dallas Plumbing was a horrible experience.
The technicians arrived late, didn't fix the issue, they came back twice more- still unable to fix the issue. I called the management, and heard nothing back.
Ended up using a different company who fixed the issue on their first visit. I can't help but think that some of these weaker Yelp reviews are perhaps actually for another very similarly-named company...especially since they are either Five-Star or One-Star (with no ratings in-between.) We personally are Four-for-Four in Five-Star experiences...most recently (today) in the installation of a new Garbage Disposal and Faucet Fixture set.
David and Anthony were on-time, professional, pleasant, and completed the job in half the time that I expected, for a price also less than expected (particularly pleasing since I had been busy and had not requested an estimate.) These guys rock. Terrible experience with this company.
A few months ago they sent out two men (not necessary) to fix a gas leak. One of the guys was younger and being trained/watching the other do all of the work.
After it taking them hours to fix the problem (they charge hourly), we were charged double due to the fact that two men were on the job. My husband called to voice that we shouldn't be paying to train their men.
No apologies made. Here we are a few months later and I am smelling gas again.
We called Dallas Plumbing (our mistake) to see if they would come check it out again and were told "we couldn't do business with them" anymore. Hmm, this is a first! I am disappointed in the way they conduct business.
We couldn't have been nicer when trying to reason with them about not wanting to pay to train their employees. If this was ok, then every company would charge on a per person basis when sending people to your home for repairs, right? Had a very poor experience with Dallas Plumbing and do not recommend them for big issues.
I have been using DP the last 3 years for both my personal house and my business for minor hvac and plumbing issues. They were just out last week for a leak in my bathroom! Most recently my AC has gone completely out and I have two coils that need to be replaced and coincidentally was a month and a half out of my 5 year warranty.
I decided to get a second opinion from another reputable company who informed me that they could work with me on the warranty and possibly get it covered since it was so close to date. I asked Dallas Plumbing if they could do the same since they had already come out twice and paid them $300 to find the issue.
Their response was absolutely not. In fact, they would not send me a quote which I had asked at least 3 different times.
They do not care for their customers and will scam you when they can. Dallas Plumbing took $300 for nothing and would not even follow through with giving me a price to have my coils replaced leaving me without ac an extra 3 days because I had to do the same with another company and it is a busy time of year for the business.
I am now saving $2500 using this new company because they care for their customers and worked out my warranty issue. Beware customers! Yesterday I paid $242.29 for them to fixed my stopped up toilet.
We used it one time and it stopped up again. I called them and they sent another plumber out today.
He unstopped the toilet, but charged an additional $72.00. I think that is completely unfair.
Great experience, Chris repaired my garbage quickly. Very responsive company, will utilize them again.
I had a nightmare scenario. My tankless hot water heater broke while my house was full of my in-laws.
It was awful. To make matters worse, the manufacturer of our tankless water heater would not sell us the parts our electrician needed to repair it unless we showed them photos that it was installed correctly.
At first, they said we were missing a pressure relief valve and recommended I call a plumber. After calling a few and getting know were, I finally called Dallas Plumbing.
They put me on a call with a great estimator named James. James reviewed a bunch of photos of the set up and educated us so we could get the tankless water heater company to send us the parts we needed.
He could just as easily told us we need a plumber and taken advantage of the situation. I really appreciated that he spend a lot of time helping me even though he wasn't going to make a dime.
Dallas Plumbing will be my first phone call from now. Great service.
Great people. I received terrific service when they repaired my gas fireplace! Repaired only what was needed with no hidden costs.
Very professional. Had an afternoon window.
We live in a high-rise, and they were informed that per condo association rules, work would have to be completed by 5 p.m. They called and told us the service person was on the way at 3:20.
At 4:50, still no repairman. When I contacted the service department, the attitude was pretty much, that's the way it goes.
Very frustrated. Wish I'd read the reviews here first, since I'm seeing pretty much the same thing.
Good as ever. Have used this company for 25+ years.
Josh is the most clear plumber I have ever met. Came in less than an hour for a failing hot water heater on Saturday evening and he explained in detail where it was in its life cycle and why the pluses and minuses are ad getting new parts vs new heater.
Service I will never use them again. Beware and make sure the quote covers everything.
The quote did not cover some of the work, and they used that to double the overall cost. I do not trust them.
They will not see another penny from me. This plumbing company was horrendous to work with.
Our water heater began leaking over the weekend, and my fianc
