The servicemen that came out seemed to be inexperienced and needed to call in to the office to talk to another plumber. My original call was to have them come out and snake the sewer vent.
They did everything but that, which I realized only when reviewing the invoice after they left. They recommended that I have my bathroom replumbed for $2,000.

Definitely keeping their number handy in case anything else starts acting up! I recently had my first service experience with CODY & SONS PLUMBING. I called their office late one afternoon to report that the piping under my kitchen sink had become detached and was leaking in two places.
They were able to get technicians Joseph and Andrew out to me the following day. They texted ahead to say that they were on their way and arrived within the window I had been given.
They were very presentable, personable, and professional. They quickly assessed the plumbing situation, gave me a quote, advised me that there would be a two year warranty on their work, and asked if I was comfortable with them proceeding.
I told them that I was, and they replaced the piping in a different manner and explained to me that it would work more efficiently. They put paper booties on their feet right before entering my home, and when they left, my kitchen was just as clean as it was when they first entered.
My experience with CODY & SONS PLUMBING, and Joseph and Andrew, specifically, was POSITIVE from start to finish! I highly recommend this company! and the gentleman helping him (name of helper?) did an exceptional job repairing my shower. There had been an issue of not being able to turn hot water on.
They arrived on time and at each part of review of the issue and repairs, they kept me updated. They showed me the valve in the wall that was jammed preventing hot water flow, removed the valve without damaging the shower and replaced it.
The cost of repairs were reasonable and they finished the work in a timely manner. I would highly recommend Cody D.
and his unnamed helper I will start by saying the second person who came to resolve the issue when our AC stopped working, Mike, was awesome and apologetic that they had to come out twice in two weeks. That said, we are not happy that they had to come out twice in two weeks for an issue that could have been addressed the first visit, and that's why I'm giving three stars.
We needed a tune up so after searching for HVAC companies I found this C&S, mom agreed and made the appointment for us. We had a tune up and we're told our system would hold all summer.
Our system has an auto shut off if there's too much water in the line, and in the past we've experienced it shutting itself down because water needed to be vacuumed out/the line cleared. We wanted to be proactive and make sure this was addressed before an auto shutdown.
Mom asked the tech for confirmation once the tune up was done that the line/pan all of that drain part was okay and nothing needed to be vacuumed flushed. We were told there was no issue and things looked good.
No need for a clearing. He told us the pricing and offered us their maintenance plan which would make it a little cheaper and we went with that.
Then, a week later when the AC shut itself down and we had to call again. I will say we were able to get someone out the next day which was a major relief! The issue was the auto shutdown because it needed to be flushed.
Mike was very apologetic and got things flushed and running again. I'm happy with his service.
We're just upset they had to come out twice and we had to pay twice when it could have been done the first time they came out during the tune up. C&S is very responsive, we appreciate their urgent list and the way they're able to get people out quickly.
I appreciate that they were masked as we have someone in our home with intense health issues, but I do wish the first person who came was more mindful about wearing his mask properly. Overall, their workers are kind and respectful which is a bonus.
Unfortunately, it's a 3/5 rating and we're hesitant to trust them again. Between their pricing and having to pay a significant amount of money across two weeks, and the issue not being resolved properly the first time, it's difficult to say we'd return.
Although mom said we could use them again for winter servicing, I'm hesitant to have them do that despite us paying for the plan. We have since noticed another concern with our HVAC system that needs to be resolved but, as I said, after our experience, we're not sure we will reach out to have them handle this project.
My entire interaction with Cody & Sons was excellent! One of my HVAC units went out as I was selling my house and the new owner was already in the location renting at the time. I contacted Cody & Sons for a quote and they responded almost immediately with an offer to come out and diagnose the problem on the same day.
I had to reschedule for a couple days later, but Tony showed up when he said he would, troubleshooted the issue, and gave me options on repairing or replacing the unit. He listened to my concerns and, as promised, e-mailed me two quotes first thing the following morning.
The prices quoted for a new unit was way lower than a quote my tenant had gotten from another company (like 50% lower!) I opted for the new unit and within 2 days Tony and his team was able to come out and do the replacement. To note: the HVAC unit was on the 4th floor of my townhouse - they scheduled a crane to remove the unit over the balcony - and all of that with the new unit, crane, AND labor cost less than what another company quoted for just a new unit! Plus you get a Yelp discount if you found them through Yelp (I did!) My tenant was there through the process and by the time I went down to the house to check on them later, the unit was up and running.
The tenants seemed extremely happy with their work and the service. I know I was.
Plus now they have a new unit with a 10 year warranty! I highly recommend Cody & Sons for your AC needs. Very friendly, professional, and came 1 and 1/2 hours early! Had to get dressed quick :-).
The toilet was fixed in about one hour. Mother was advised that a general contractor would have to fix the under-floor shower leaks (and use another shower in the meantime, of course).

Pleasure to deal with but it feels very weird when they send out two people to give me a $1,600 quote to install a water filter. Another company happily did it for under $200.
What could explain this difference or do they just not expect you to bother contacting someone else? Had a floor furnace go out Cody and Son come out said i needed a pilot generator charged me 534 dollars part didn't fix the problem ,so for 3 hours of work and not fixing the problem, found a crack in one of the heat chambers they said i needed a new furnace , understanable it was like 40 years old the price they told me 6000 dollars found one with installation 2,400 dollars .nice people problem is they don't give you a break down on parts and labor they give you a total thats it, Home owners be warned: At first I thought this would be a great company to come out and fix my a/c issues because they communicated well and provided a decent quote in comparison to other companies. They also have superb reviews here on yelp.
Low and behold a month later it gets super cold and for some reason my heater is blowing cold air? Luckily in the past couple of months I was blessed to befriend a technician who offered to come out to my house and see what's going on.... As soon as he went into my attic he saw that whoever came out to work on my unit unplugged whatever cord you need to actually expend heated air (extremely simple fix).
He also warned that regardless of good companies the technicians that come out thrive on more (commission) business and therefore issues like this happen. People work hard for their money and deserve decent honest pricing.
The mark up on HVAC equipment is already profitable so it's sad to see that consumers are paying the ultimate price just to live comfortably in cold/hot seasons. Hoping that my HONEST review helps others and I wish I could recommend another trustworthy company but I have yet to find one.

So when my AC went out in August I gave them a call. The problem was pretty straight forward.
The fan motor needed replacing. From the time of arrival, it probably took the technician less than two hours to diagnose and replace the unit.
The motor itself isn't costly, $250 if I were to buy it myself. Total cost...
$1358! That's over 500 dollars an hour and they know they can charge it because time is a luxury I can't afford when my family is sweating it out in a hot house in the peak of summer. Desperation will make you agree to some terrible terms.
It eats away at me that I allow myself to be taken advantage of by companies like this. Do yourself a favor and seek help elsewhere.
Hands down the best company they are fast friendly and reliable. They keep you posted from the moment you place work order to when they are in route and they send you texts and call you (updating you and giving you the name and picture of tech who will be providing the service for you AC or plumbing issue.
This way you know who to expect, they are so kind they just go above and beyond from customer service to the techs or service people they send to do job. They really make you feel like you are their top priority and treat you as such.

However, my experience was none of the sort. I reached out to Cody & Sons on Friday May 1, 2020 because of the random faint smell of sewer in my home.
A pretty straightforward conversation was held via text message that resulted in me providing my information through email to schedule an appointment for that following Tuesday May 5, 2020 between the hours of 1-5pm. Now because we are ALL going through trying times, I felt compelled to let the company know as I was booking my appointment (on May 1st) that I am a ICU nurse and I can provide mask if needed.
Never once did anyone reach out to me regarding this information. Fast forward to Tuesday May 5 approximately 2:07 in the afternoon, I called to make sure someone was still coming out and the representative I spoke with over the phone confirmed as well as a separate text message came through confirming the appointment.
About an hour later I received a phone call from Randy who identified himself as the owner. Randy told me none of his technicians felt comfortable coming to my home to fulfill the service because I AM A NURSE.
Being a nurse is the most thankless job next to law enforcement. I work OVERNIGHT managing very critical patients with life altering medications, bathing, soothing both patient and family, as well as dealing with the anxiety of bringing ANYTHING home to my toddler and husband.
The last thing I was ever worried about was being discriminated against because of my line of work. Randy felt comfortable enough with the response from his "12 technicians " to call me and let me know no one was coming out.
This was about the only thing honorable with this experience. This encounter followed with two phone calls from two different technicians saying they didn't know about the appointment, which I kindly let one of them know "I made this appointment last week".

With temperatures approaching triple digits, we wanted to make sure our unit was in good working order. After the service our machine is more efficient and we feel the difference Buyer super beware.
Ok, these guys are a rip-off, on the phone they said to diagnose a problem if not repaired it was $79, and that amount would go towards any repair. if no repair just the $79.
They came and diagnosed 2 problems, they didn't fix either of them but wanted to charge $450!!! Also, they claimed they would come between 1-4 pm showed up at 6:30 pm. Filing complaint with BBB also, to help others avoid being taken.
Also when tech left the house heard him mutter "fu___er", asked him to repeat that but just walked away-outrageous all around. Attempted to reach them for an appointment via their website chat feature and the appointment setup feature.
Two days later, haven't heard a peep via phone, text, or email, and the supposed appointment is tomorrow morning. A bummer since they had such good reviews, but also, I've now wasted two days that I could have been waiting for someone who is actually going to come fix the issue.

I live in Plano, TX. When I finished taking shower at night, I noticed that the shower knob was broken, and could not shut the water! I was panicked and tried to find 24/7 plumbing service, but no one was available....
and I finally found Cory & Sons Plumbing. I called and the operator was very kind and arranged dispatching their staff right away even it was after 7 pm.
Then even before the staff (sorry I don't know his name) arrived, he called me to text him the shower knob picture, and guided me how to shut the water on the phone! So the emergency issue was solved temporarily in an hour! Thank you, thank you! Then he arranged Selso to come over my place next day to fix the cracked shower knob completely. Selso was very polite and professional.
He also fixed my additional issues sufficiently! I really appreciate Cory & Sons team to be available for my emergency! They are the BEST! I had my AC serviced by Trey and he did an excellent job. He was friendly and professional and took the time to explain every step of his process in a way that I could understand.

We needed an assessment with our plumbing before we bought our house and they were quick to come out. The guys that came out were very friendly and were honest.
They explained everything thoroughly. We then moved in and had an AC issues so we called them for that.

I have loved doing business with Cody & Sons earlier this year and late last year. There were a whole lot of plumbing corrections needed when I moved into a new house which they did professionally, graciously and excellently.
I would really prefer to stay with them, but they've told me their business has grown exponentially, and it looks they are having growing pains. I called them in March for a blocked toilet in a 1-Bath house, and they said they couldn't come for a week, which was not workable.
I had to call them back for the same problem this week, and was told they couldn't come for *over two weeks.* They promised to try to squeeze me in, but failed to call me back for two days running. The third day I was desperate, and I got lucky.
They happened to have a plumber near me, and he was able to come right away just before this weekend. They did leave without giving me an estimate for a second job that I'd requested, but I forgot to remind them, too.
One staff person pitched me an annual service plan so I could get quicker service plus preventive maintenance and discounts, but I'm not going to pay 300.00 for that. Especially not when they used to give me 5 star service without it.
They also left without cleaning the toilet bowl, which was unprecedented for them. I so hate to sever a substantially great business relationship, but I think right now they may be in over their heads.
I asked if it was because of the pandemic, and was told no, it's winterizing season plus they have grown so fast. Shouldn't stopped up toilets take precedence over winterizing for valued customers? This was my first time using the company.

Called today to try and schedule someone to come out and fix a leak in my AC unit. The receptionist was not friendly.
She informed me they no longer service the Arlington area, yet both yelp and their site say they do. She said the changed happened this year, but we are halfway through the year already.

Tony came out to check out my AC. He quoted me a replacement coil for $2,200 plus a furness for approximately $5,000 to $8,000 .
Luckily, I kept looking around and got the issue fixed for $750.00 The only thing that was wrong was I had a leak in the coil. You know how it goes.

It was important for me to pick a small local business to support. They were able to see me within 48 hours (other plumbers were out a week).
I got email, text and phone confirmations. I knew when they were on their way and they sent an email with a description and photo of my plumber, Juan.
They showed up on the early side of their 2 hour window, which I really appreciated. They took all the necessary precautions for safety (masks, gloves, sanitizer, etc).
Juan came with a partner (don't recall his name) but they were both polite, professional and knowledgeable. I told them the situation, they knew what to do.
They explained clearly what was going to be done and why things had broken down. The cost to me seemed really fair and they set to work.
Ninety minutes later, they were done, everything was cleaned and our toilet was installed without a hitch. These guys were great and they offer a 2 year guarantee on the work.

I wanted a second opinion and estimates to replace my 11 year old heating system. A local company sent out a technician that told me my unit repair cost was too costly and replacing the unit was his recommendation.
Cody & Sons sent Jeff out. After going to the attic and seeing that the other technician left the blower motor out he asked if he could put the blower back and check the unit.
He stated the blower unit had vibrated loose and couldn't function. After putting it back together it worked perfectly.
Jeff was very meticulous, thorough and courteous. He saved me several thousand dollars.

I was out of town when our heater stopped working. They charged my wife $335 for a replacement wall thermostat.
The exact same model on amazon sells for $32 (plus $84 for installation). They wanted over $800 for a programmable one, which can be found on amazon for $51 (plus the same $84 for installation).
They clearly took advantage of my wife's lack of knowledge. Never using this company ever again.
My entire experience with the company went very well, from my initial communication with two ladies at the office, to clean-up by the two gentlemen who did the installation. I actually bought two Energy Star water heaters myself, which qualified for nice gas company rebates, and asked several top-rated plumbing companies to bid on only the installation.
Cody & Sons had the lowest price, so I went with them and never regretted it. Two men (Phillip, a Master Plumber and his apprentice Cody) showed up near the beginning of the 2-hour time window (which is always nice).
After seeing my old and new water heaters and the difficult accessibility to the installation spaces, Phillip quickly realized that they would need a third helper since the units weighed about 150 lbs each and had to go straight up into the opening at the pull-down stairs in order to clear the hatch springs. They went right to work, putting shoe covers on and covering everything in the house that might get wet or damaged.
The third helper arrived in another truck once they were ready to install the new water heaters. The installation went very smoothly.
They cleaned the attic areas and the house so that you could never tell they were there. They made sure that I was satisfied with the job in every way, and gave me a two-year warranty on the work.
I've found that, when your company reflects your family name, you tend to take pride in your work and that was the case here. I would call Cody & Sons again in a heartbeat! This is a great company.

My husband and I both are not educated in AC units and the components and he was willing to walk through everything with my husband and definitely show him where the problem was, what to do in the meantime to save us thousands of dollars right now in replacing the whole system. This company is really interested in working with clients and partnering with them to help from further issues happening instead of just coming in and wanting to replace everything right away.
Our repairs and our situation are not indefinite and eventually we will have to replace our system but like I said they were willing to partner with us to ensure that we get the best care and servicing the next... hopefully 2-4 years longer while we save up.
Cody the plumber called prior to arrival to confirm my appt. then called again prior to arrival.
He came and installed two bidets in both our bathrooms. He was professional, covering his shoes, wearing gloves, efficient with the time he used not lagging.
Cody was personable and friendly. As far as I am concerned his service was a 5 out of 5.
The only thing the price was a little high but he was willing to negotiate. So really a 4.5 out of 5 over all.
I would definelty use them again. Fantastic service - Atmos turned off the gas to the house after changing out my meter due to a supposed leak.
Worried about the size off the upcoming repair, I called Cody and Sons and they fit me into their full schedule the next business day. They pressure tested the lines and determined that Atmos had made a mistake, arranged for Atmos to restore service without a city inspection, and even included a new customer discount.

THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS! Wow! I used Yelp to find this company, had my decision affirmed by a friend and neighbor and couldn't be more pleased with our service. When I called, I had a very easy booking conversation with the person I spoke to on the phone.
They were prompt, able to get me in the same week, they were no back and forth phone tag games with voicemails that weren't set up (typical plumber). They called in advance to confirm the appointment and time frame.
There were not gimmicks with the pricing. Everything was straightforward! The service guy arrived on time, put on booties before entering my house, clearly described the issue within minutes, gave us a fast estimate.
After approval the problem was resolved. We even got an invoice in our inbox.

The guys who came out to fix our gas leak and slow outside spigot were friendly and fixed the problem quickly. They were even great at working with our Shepherd who is very protective of the house.

Cody (not the owner, but I would recommend asking for him specifically) was at my door within hours was able to complete job. He had intelligent answers for all my (sometimes trivial) questions on the heater they had previously installed and other plumbing related components in my house.
