Review and analyze now for company Drymount Air and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''After a bumpy communication start, Drymount came through with flying colors for installing a bathroom vanity. The individuals we worked with had very positive and problem solving attitudes.
We would definitely use them again. We paid over $900 for two condensate pump replacements.
The work never got done, but they kept the money and stopped communicating with us. Had to hire somebody else and dispute the charges instead of these guys answering the phone and either doing the work or doing the right thing and refunding us.
I STRONGLY ADVISE YOU NOT TO HIRE DRYMOUNT. I hired Drymount to fix two plumbing problems: Low/inconsistent water pressure and delayed hot water.
They FAILED, but that's just the beginning. A guy I'll call "C" inspected the system and declared that the problems would "definitely" be fixed if he were to install a valve and flush the tankless water heater.
C's boss, who I'll call "S," and I agreed on a price. I paid half in advance, and C returned to complete the work.
As far as I can tell, the work was done, although I can't evaluate the quality of the job - other than to say it was entirely ineffective. He did some work, though.
He definitely did... something.
Unfortunately, this "solution" did not fix either problem. We still have low pressure and a long wait for hot water.
Drymount fixed exactly nothing. Zero.
In fact, it kinda seems worse now. C checked the results himself and acknowledged that the problem was not solved.
He then said what was needed was actually a recirculation pump (although after being initially certain that what was needed was a valve and a cleaning, C had already lost all credibility). C said there would be no additional charge for the pump installation, and that he'd work it out with S and get back to me.
He never did. A few days (of silence) later, S suddenly demanded that I pay the 50% balance, which I refused to do, because Drymount had failed spectacularly to do what they had been hired to do.
S then threatened to report me to Yelp (whatever that means), so I initiated a refund claim (through Yelp). That investigation is presumably ongoing, although Yelp has not been particularly communicative.
I offered to pay for the pump (materials) but not the labor. No response from S.
If the refund is not issued soon, I will dispute the charge with my credit card company. Meanwhile, I'm doing the Yelp community a service by reporting my experience here.
In any case, when I hear the word "Drymount," I think of the words "incompetent" and "unprofessional." I'm not describing them that way. It's just word association.
I needed both an HVAC system and a water heater installed. The company was very reasonable in their quote for everything that needed to be done.
This is an amazing company. Sean was always very responsive, in answering ALL of my questions, and Ryan and his guys worked relentlessly to get these installed in my home ASAP.
Even though unexpected issues came up, because I have an old home, this group was amazing, and went above and beyond to make everything perfect. Furthermore, the job entailed much more than was originally expected, but the company didn't charge me more, and kept their word on the contract.
As a person who works two jobs, I am very appreciative of such an honest, and hard-working company! If you need an HVAC and/or water heater, hire these guys! Drymount did great work at my house to install a Aprilaire 800 last winter. It's been working flawlessly since then.
They communicated quickly and transparently during the preparation process while they ordered the unit, told me about costs, when it would arrive, scheduling a visit to my house etc. Good communicators.
On the day of the installation, it was a fairly tricky installation where they had to modify the wiring on my furnace to connect this new humidifier, and hook up a 220v electrical connection. It looked very complex, and their tech Mikey had to call his boss for help several times.
They got it sorted. There were some issues with the supply line and drain hose that I pointed out, and Mikey happily fixed.
It took almost a whole workday, but I could see them making steady progress. Mikey even came back a few days later to re-pipe the drain with something more durable, for free, and I appreciate that.
I will be using drymount again for any heavy hvac work at my home or at my properties. I had an issue with the service, but Sean issued a refund.
It was unfortunate, but he acted with integrity and that's more than what some others would have done. So, I'm appreciative of that.
Sean saved me ~10k in HVAC repairs! I have a 3 year old heat pump, and the reversing valve failed, and was stuck in cooling mode. Multiple contractors came out, some quoted me 2300-2800 for the repair.
Others said they do not do reversing valves. Other contractors just insisted on replacing the entire system, or at least outdoor unit.
Sean and his tech Ryan did it for 1800$. In only a few hours, and on a Friday evening.
I had the pleasure of working with Drymount Air's HVAC specialist, Ryan, and their exceptional team, and I couldn't be happier with their service. They tackled a challenging job, sealing a hard-to-reach and risky area on the building exterior, with unparalleled professionalism and efficiency.
Not only did they find the most cost-effective solution for me, but they also expertly mitigated the risks involved. One standout aspect of their service was their attention to detail.
After cutting out a hole in the drywall during the process, they went above and beyond by patching it up seamlessly. This level of consideration for my property truly impressed me.
Beyond their technical skills, the team at Drymount Air displayed kindness and helpfulness throughout the project. It's rare to find professionals who not only excel in their field but also take the time to ensure their clients feel valued and informed.
In summary, I wholeheartedly recommend Drymount Air, especially Sean, Ryan and Charles, for any HVAC and plumbing needs. Their dedication, cost-effectiveness, responsiveness, attention to detail, and friendly demeanor make them a top choice in the industry.
They have certainly earned my trust and gratitude. Sean arrived in time and fixed the toilet leak within an hour.
The bolts were really rusty, but he could unscrew those. The price was affordable for the overall experience and result.
Sean (DryMount) quite literally saved me from spending over $12k in unnecessary HVAC work that was recommended by another hvac specialist. I had been dealing with poor cooling performance and another specialist - at a large company I'll not name - diagnosed that I had a coolant leak in my coil and - due to rust/age and other issues - I'd be better off replacing entire HVAC system for over $12k.
I brought in Sean for a second opinion and he was skeptical. He found the true source of the leak was from a valve closer to the unit and most likely caused by the same company who had performed cleaning on my unit several months prior.
Turns out I only needed a quick fix. Ultimately Sean did concur the coil in my system - while not leaking - was not in the best of shape and I ended up replacing just the coil rather than the entire system.
This was roughly two years ago btw and the system is still working great. Overall great experience.
Rather than just giving me a single reocommendation, Sean gave me the info I needed to make my own decision: options and pros/cons of full hvac replacement vs coil-only vs leave-it-as-is, as well as options on hvac brands. Responded to me immediately with solutions and a competitive price and we're able to see me the same day to take care of the sewer line being clogged.
Woke up on Monday, August 28th to find our 21-year old Hot Water tank starting to leak... we knew we were living on borrowed time.
We had already received quotes in the recent months from some other larger HVAC/Plumbing companies and called them first, but they would need to come out and confirm that the Hot Water tank should be replaced in order to provide an accurate quote, even though they had been out within the past 6 months. Sean got back to us right away with a quote that was competitive with the other companies' previous quotes and based on the Drymount Air's yelp reviews I felt confident selecting them to install our new water heater.
The two gentlemen were professional and efficient and I had my new water heater installed by 4pm. I would recommend Drymount to my neighbors, friends and family.
No concerns or issues. Everything was easy and done as promised.
Best of all... no waiting on a sales person to come out and look at the old tank and then tell me that they could be back in a couple of days to replace the hot water tank.
prompt and professional with very reasonable prices. Ryan was our technician and we will definitely use him again.
all our systems hvac, water and air cleaner cleaned, tested, part needed replace and all is working perfect. Thanks for our seasonal tune up.
Top notch company Anthony C. Alexandria, VA Hard workers did a grate job .
Did everything I requested . This was a hard project.
I live in a historical building . The worker are flexible .
Many adjustments had to be done . They will work until the job is done .
They can give you a estimate when you talk with them but when they get there it may be more because it's easier to give you a true estimate after seeing what has to be done . Their is a fee to come to see what has to be done .
They will include the fee in the service charge when service is completed Please send many photos so they can be equipped . This will help you get the service done with minimum delays .
I am impressed hard workers and fair prices . Very skilled Drymount Air was excellent to work with.
When I requested quotes from Yelp, they were the only company to provide an immediate, flat fee quote; responded super fast; and came out the same day. Everyone else gave broad $$$ ranges or asked to book an appointment to visit first.
Charles did an excellent job replacing our leaking spigot and the adjoining connecting pipe. Despite multiple challenging preexisting conditions working against the replacement, Charles patiently worked through each challenge and still honored their original quote.
To put a cherry on top, Charles replaced the old, rusted spigot with an easier turn one complete with cool dolphin handle that I and my kids love. Drymount was great.
They worked with me to tailor the project to my needs and were reasonable with the budget. Do not use this company for HVAC repair.
Last July, our 2-year old rooftop HVAC stopped working on a Friday night. My normal HVAC company doesn't answer on weekends and it was so hot outside.
So I went to Yelp and Drymount was able to come by that day. Cue a 16-day saga.
Did Drymount repeatedly come back out and try to fix it? Yes. Did they ever fix it? No.
Did they install new parts that we maybe never needed? Potentially. Did they blame others for why it wasn't working and make us spend time and money to get an electrician and Pepco out to our house because the problem wasn't their work, it was the voltage coming into our home.
(False.) After 16 days of it being 85+ degrees inside our house (and over 100 degrees outside), we finally paid to have our normal hvac company come by. (I had refused to do so to date because I didn't want to pay to hire another HVAC company if Drymount could just finish the job and get my AC back on.) They were at my house for maybe 20 minutes.
Drymount had installed the new parts (whose necessity we still are not sure about) incorrectly. So the HVAC was reading an error, which Drymount didn't even know to recognize.
Total nightmare all around. It was so much more expensive, stressful, longer, and hotter an experience due to hiring Drymount on a Saturday than if I had just waited until Monday for my normal HVAC company to answer the phone and come out.
Thanks to Yelp Guarantee, I got my money back. But my strong advice is to avoid this company.
Super fast easy to work with great price! Sean is absolutely amazing and so responsive. Saved us twice with a new AC and new water heater! My AC motor blew and Drymount was the first and most responsive company I found on Yelp.
Service was incredible - they got here on time, diagnosed them issue, and committed to fixing it. We had some challenges with the fix but they communicated clearly and were fair with the pricing.
Great service and great work. Drymount does plumbing as well as HVAC.
They uninstalled a gas dryer for me and capped the gas line on March 6, 2024. Plumber arrived promptly, completed the work thoroughly and neatly, and was totally professional.
The cost was the least expensive of several estimates I received. Excellent service! Sean responded very quickly to me and was communicative with me throughout the entire process.
Ryan was the technician who came out to my property for the service. He was a professional and completely the service exactly as needed.
Strongly recommend! We needed our AC unit fixed. The first company who responded to our request quoted us $5,000 to replace a broken air compressor.
We looked around and realized that was an extremely high quote for the supposed defect. Ryan, from Drymount Air, did some testing on our unit and told us we had a leak.
He came back the next day, fixed the leak and refilled our refrigerant for less than half the cost of our original quote. From our experience, Drymount Air is full of honest, hard working, and extremely capable professionals.
They should be your first choice for HVAC problems A+. Highly recommend for HVAC, water heaters, plumbing.
Post more words post more words Great Service. Responded quickly.
Price lower than other quotes. Courteous and will definitely use again, but hope the need does not arise.
Ryan came out to fix a leaky tub faucet. He was paid $500 and left.
A few days later it was leaking worse than before. I contacted Ryan, told him the problem and never heard from him again.
I left a detailed message on Drymount's voice mail and no one ever got in touch. I am now out $500 and left with a dripping faucet.
I was hoping a find a competent plumbing service but I will never use this company again. Shame on you.
I contacted Sean to diagnose and fix an issue with my HVAC; it suddenly stopped working during 90+ degree weather. Bottom line: They're very responsive, they get the job done, and the pricing seems fair.
Highly recommended. Amazing company!!! We had some concerns about the HVAC unit that was recently installed by a different company and Drymount came out promptly (24 hours after making initial contact).
They assessed the system, addressed the issue and got everything all fixed and for a great rate at that! They took great precautions re: COVID and also were just so friendly with fabulous customer service. If we encounter any issues with our system we will be calling them moving forward! Awesome service.
Came over within an hour of reaching out on yelp on CHRISTMAS EVE and fixed our furnace! Great service and good prices. Had a good experience getting my AC replaced in advance of the summer heat.
I recommend this company for your AC needs. My A/C broke and within a few hours of calling, Ryan was at my place.
I didn't realize I needed to get a key to the roof so Ryan could diagnose the issue, and he was so understanding and flexible. He came back a few hours later after I got the key to the roof, quickly diagnosed the issue and immediately fixed it (because he thought ahead and brought extra parts with him!).
Ryan was super responsive and could not have been a nicer guy. I am so grateful to Ryan and this company! Price was fair, work was great.
My faucet was having issues and he fixed it right away. Would definitely recommend.
Responded with sense of urgency to my quote request to replace my water source heat pump in my condo that had a leaking coil. They also found a Carrier unit to install and scheduled the installation the next day so that I did not have to wait.
They arrived on time for the installation with multiple crew members. The first guy came to start the demolition of the old unit, the next trio came to finish the installation.
They did a great job in installation and making sure it all functioned properly. The job took about six hours in total.
It would've taken probably closer to four if they had not been delayed in procuring the Carrier unit, which was out of their control. Response was very fast and times where flexible.
The crew was friendly and knowledgable. The price however was a rip-off.
I was impatient and settled because no A/C for a week was taking its toll. A fan motor replacement should not be over a $1000.
another crew would have done it for half that. Made an appointment.
Resident at the property took time out of their day to allow plumber access to the property. Plumber never showed up.
Did not even have the most basic professional courtesy to call and cancel. Would not recommend.
The website list (703) 486-4116 as their business phone number--it does not work. I had to call others that knew Sean Shanahan who runs the business and after calling 703-380-4882, he finally answered and said that the other advertised business phone number was no longer usable.
Because he installed a new HVAC system in my TH last year with a 2-year warranty, he has yet to follow up when I called him twice over in the past week. The TH is without any heat and it had dropped below freezing this week.
Now he will not answer his new phone number, as it keeps rolling over with unanswered messages. Pretty disappointing and frustrating experience.
The person who came to do the estimate was pretty cranky and not customer service oriented. His mood was not improved when he got blasted in the face by refrigerant from my compressor - this happened because his hoses were not properly tightened prior to attachment, and I might have lost maybe a half pound or so of refrigerant (that stuff is expensive!!).
The guy then told me my refrigerant was low (you don't say) - I have no idea whether it was low before this incident or not. When I proceeded to ask questions about other aspects of the HVAC system, he responded rather curtly with just the diagnostic price, ignoring my questions.
Eventually he did become slightly more pleasant and went up to my attic as I asked (not without complaining about it, though). He promised to send me a write up with the diagnostic info and estimates for repair, but he did not.
In a follow-on discussion, the owner finally offered, after several requests to make some compensation, but only if I engaged them for additional services, and only offered these services during times which he know I would not be available. The owner just stopped engaging and in the end my request to reimburse the diagnostic request was not responded to.
In sum, I feel like I paid $99 to come away with LESS refrigerant than I started with, no resolution to my initial issue, and a waste of my time. I will ask Yelp for some help making this right, as I only engaged Drymount as a suggested business by Yelp.
Recommend CD Shanahan instead of these guys. I used Drymount for a garbage disposal installation, as well as dishwasher repair.
In each instance they were fantastic, from the owner to the techs who came out to my residence. I cannot recommend them enough and will continue to use their services.
Unlike almost every service I contacted, provided a quote over Yelp ($200 to unclog toilet), came over within a few hours, fixed the issue and charged just that. Very easy and professional.
Contacted drymount about our water heater that was on it's way out. Sean replied right away and gave us a quote for a replacement water heater.
His prices were competitive and he was very responsive and could do our project right away. We decided to book with him.
A date was set and the crew was here on time and the install went great. Super easy experience all around.
We now have hot water! Thanks Sean and team for your help! Sean was very easy to work with and explained exactly what was going on with our system and fixed our issue ASAP. He took our service call the same night and provided us with a solution.
I would highly recommend his business and will definitely be keeping his contact for any future jobs! Thanks Sean! Quick response and quick turnaround. Excellent service to fix a leak and verify its source.
Highly recommend. Price seemed reasonable as well.
I had an AC unit that would not blow cool air. Identified the problem on Saturday afternoon, spoke with Drymount that night, they were out the next day.
It was a rooftop installed unit, and drymount had to replace the capacitor for $299, and 2.5lbs of refrigerant at $150 per pound, but a total of $793. It was a little more than i expected to spend, but my house went from 86 degrees to now 75 degrees.
I'd recommend them any time. Sean and his team have been incredibly responsive and helpful during my AC outage.
They were able to fix my AC within a few days of me reaching out and provided a very reasonable quote and did great work. I've already recommended them to some friends and really appreciate the hard work they did.
