Save yourself the time with competitive quotes - you only need one - trust me. Let me start by saying the young guys that came here were respectful and pleasant.

I advised ahead of time that my Basement washer sink drain was so clogged to where no water was passing. So I cannot get anything done.

So they start by the pavement when I even knew that wasn't going to fix the issue. They cleaned that out and told me that didn't fix it (surprise) then moved to the basement I advised the sink pipe might be easier to snake plus water from upstairs sink geese and dirt was going into the basement sink but they told me it didn't matter.

So I let them try to fix it. So they said something is stuck in the pipe drain (I know it is clogged) they advise they cant reach it and will keep trying.

I say thank you. I ask again maybe trying the other drain which is close by.

They never tried. 20 mins later the guy comes to me saying they are taking pictures and will have to figure out another way due to not wanting to break their equipment and starts to give me the bill.

$530.00 was the price and nothing changed. They got rid of the water and said it drains "slow" and would not guarantee their work.

So I asked to talk to their boss. Rude AF we started talking over each other and he said it was better then it was before.

At this time my sink was empty and he tells me it works but won't guarantee the work. I hang up and pay the bill but as soon as I run water I was stuck in the same place.

My floor flooded after trying washing a very small load. Biggest scam I ever saw.

Who charges for a job that is not even close to good. And to top it off this was refered to me.

I'll get it fixed by someone else. I told them I need a professional.

John came out and gave an estimate. He had a vision for what would work with the mini splits and the way in which everything would come down the side of the house.

He had a great recommendation about what the color should be of the caps and everything worked out really well. The mini splits themselves are of tremendous quality and they cool everything quickly.

John and his team were efficient. There was a slight issue with the sealing of the caps.

John came out quickly and resolved that for us. There was an issue later with our primary central air unit and John was able to come out.

He spent maybe all of 10 seconds figuring out what the problem was, fixed it, didn't even charge us for it. Class act! I highly recommend! I hired Sheridan years ago to instal a new boiler ($6000+), and I had no issues with their services at that time.

A few months ago I had them out for a smaller job, and unfortunately had a much different experience. The first person that came out was an older, cranky and absolutely unhelpful man.

He told us that our leak was due to us splashing water outside of the tub while showering ($80). This explanation was not sitting right with me, because I knew the amount of water in my basement did not equal any amount of water that could have possibly been splashed outside of the tub.

I contacted Sheridan again and spoke with Kevin who agreed to come out again. Kevin came out to look at the issue and agreed there was a larger issue.

I discussed what I wanted to do cosmetically in addition to fixing the leak. He recommended that I go to a local tile store to pick out materials and contact them when ready.

I did this fairly quickly, and contacted him by phone and email multiple times. Kevin blew me off and never responded.

I am local and would have certainly been a loyal client for Sheridan. It is truly disappointing that this is how they treat their customers who have spent a lot of money with them in the past.

I hired another local company which has been great. While addressing my issues that Sheridan blew me off on they saw that my fairly new boiler had major oxidation concerns and the piping was rusted as well as leaking.

Needless to say I am disgusted and would never recommend Sheridan's services to anyone. Our pipe connecting the bath/shower in the basement burst and flooded 2 inches of water into the basement.

My home is over 90 years old but the staff of Sheridan plumbing had no problems replacing the pipe in 2 hours. They were not the first plumber I contacted but they gave an estimate over $900 dollars less .

The owner called me and sent his crew over within the hour. They were pleasant and efficient.

I would recommend this company to anyone who needs a fair price and excellent work. Definitely they will be my go to plumber in the future.

Had a large project completed in October 2019. Everything went well.

They had come out to my house many times after that for small things. April 2021 they sent me a $3,200 bill from the oct 2019 incident.

How are you going to bill me a year and a half later for something you forgot to send. Do they not do their taxes? They need to address their accounting person because that experience was hell.

I want everyone to be aware that this caused me so much stress that could've been avoided. Do your job.

Also paid $145 for them to fix a gas lamp that they came back to fix over 3x. Just say it's out of your scope of practice...still doesn't work but whatever.

I was with them for years. They stopped answering my calls.

So I went with another company and haven't regretted it. The new company (FILAN & Conner) fixed my boiler AND I was so happy that I paid them to install air conditioning in my 100 year old home.

I have never been so glad that a company fired me! :) I was in a really bad situation after our steam boiler gave out right before cold weather was coming. It was a bad situation and Kevin and John made the time to assess the situation and get us a new boiler.

I am indebted to them for the kindness and compassion they showed and for their hustle to get us back up and running. Excellent service I'd highly recommend.

The big name company came in supposedly fixed the problem and then 24hrs later our whole house was backing up with sewage. There's so much more to this story but too long to tell.

The $8,000 job the big company said it was going to be was less than $300 and everything was working perfect in our home so thank you Sheridan Plumbing and Heating. First off, I spent several months for finding the ideal company to install a brand new HVAC system. I had over 6 different local AC specialists (both certified and licensed) assess and quote based on the scope of work.

It wasn't just an install, it was removal of an existing botched system too. Sheridan is true, honest, very affordable, impressively clean within the house during and after work days, professional and do offer real opinions with the customer (and his/her wallet) in mind.

The quality of the job (materials, installation, ductwork) is spectacular. My house has been an ice box during these last couple of weeks with a heat wave.

Their creativity helped hide the entire system in a "dead space' part of the basement. They were on time every day, and have followed up several times since to ensure satisfaction.

These guys take pride in their work, and it shows. The after sales/install is quite a nice touch too, since you know they won't hide if needed for some reason.

To sum it up, a great company at even a greater price for the homeowner. Would not hesitate to recommend Sheridan to any one I know.

They originally came to reseal a toilet but diligently checked out the crawl space where the pipes were and realized there was a leak that we never would have seen. They quickly realized that the toilet was cracked underneath and were able to install a new toilet and prevent any further damage.

These guys are really great. I have used them for a furnace replacement, AC pressure fix, and replacement of a sump pump.

They answer the phone with actual humans, return calls promptly, schedule quickly, show up on time, and work efficiently. You can't say that about most companies.

In terms of pricing, I found them to be spectacular on the heating and on par with plumbing work. I received a quote from PSEG to replace my furnace for a little over $7,000.

Sheridan put in a similar efficiency unit (a Bryant Evolution 987m) for $2,500 LESS than PSEG. That blew my mind.They also installed a new return and two new floor registers in the basement where it gets really cold for a reasonable price.

Plumbing was fair as well. The estimate for work was right in line with what I researched online.

There were other cheaper contractors, but I'd rather pay a few bucks more and be confident that they did good work and made it easy to schedule. I will definitely use Sheridan in the future, the folks there are great.

Always responsive and prompt, Sheridan has saved us from plumbing disaster MULTIPLE times. Kevin's a straight shooter.

HIs crew is efficient and friendly. In our experience, they subscribe to a leave-no-trace philosophy about clean up...

but for the repaired pipes and walls, you'd never know they were there. Sheridan Plumbing was able to accommodate my needs and work me in to their schedule on the same day! I had a different plumber scheduled to come to my house at 9am, and I took the day off work just for that.

After 10am and no return calls from the original plumber, I realized they were a no-show. I called Sheridan- they answer their phone and return calls! They came out on the same day and fixed my problem: install drain lines for 2 new drop-in sinks.

NO leaks!! They were not able to properly install a common kitchen appliance in our house. When we followed up on the service, they were not approachable or helpful.

Just hounded us for payment for unsatisfactory service. John and his team are the best in the business.

Having the replace a HAVAC system is a trying time for any homeowner. Sue in the office helped us apply for credit options and the new system was installed in a week.

John even had 2 window A/C units installed for us to get us through some hot days. I highly recommend Sheridan.

Some 24 hour service. Really an 8/5 operation and that couldn't fix a simple main drain clog.

Wednesday March 18 I had a clog first thing in the morning. They came out and fixed it same day.

$281.11. Saturday April 4 it clogs again.

9:30pm. Obviously they didn't fix it right two weeks ago.

Called them. Pushed zero per recorded instruction.

No one answered. Left messages at 9:30 and midnight.

At midnight the forwarded number didn't even ring, it went direct to voicemail. Now 8am Sunday still no callback.

Update: new service I called found roots. Clearly, Sheridan missed it.

I give two stars because two of the three guys who have come out were nice - one had no idea what he was doing. Unfortunately, the first team was unable to handle the job to completion, so the second team had to step in.

Besides the extra two weeks of water damage, I was charged for the second visit as well. That's not the kind of quality I'm looking for in a plumbing company.

Do the job until it's done, and stand by your work. I don't think it's too much to ask.

Called another company that I used 2 years ago and they weren't able to see me until the next day. I was looking out my window and saw a Sheridan truck drive by and thought, "Let me give these guys a call." They arrived to my house on time and Brett, the repair man, couldn't have been nicer.

The job entailed letting my AC defrost over night, as I had a frozen pipe due to dirty air filters. I had to work the next day, but Brett offered to come to my house at 7:45AM, before I had to leave, to finish the job.

Not only did he arrive promptly and finish the job quickly, he rolled up my hose in the driveway that I had left laying out! Yes, he had used it the day prior to hose down the dirty air filters, but it was already unraveled prior to him using it. That was a pleasant surprise to see my hose neatly rolled back up.

And, my AC is in fabulous working condition! Thank you Brett! These guys were amazing! The operator was very friendly and prompt at getting me updates and information. They were able to work around my work schedule to come for the repair.

Once here, not only did the repair man do a thorough job repairing, but he went out of his way to show me how the furnace worked and what to look for if it stops working. Gave me some great tips about the filter.

We had called them to replace a toilet valve. The guy came up and said I will charge you a 120 dollar "diagnostic" fee which was not disclosed.

When we raised issues, he made racist comments saying "you Arabs are always problematic" These comments are unacceptable even though I was not Arab so I sent the person promptly away. Do not deal with racist individuals $600 to unclog kitchen sink.

I'll buy a drain snake and do myself I had my sewer line replaced on Thanksgiving morning and I'm not happy with the process that we went through. they destroyed my yard with the machine they used to dig up the sewer line.

I told them that it's unacceptable with the way they backfilled the hole...today is January 28 2024 and my yard still looks like they dropped a bomb on it..bad enough they charged me 15,000 dollars and I can't even have my yard back the way it was. well I guess I will probably spend a few more thousand dollars on having a landscaping company fix what rotor rooter did...if anyone wants to see my yard before you hire them your welcome to see it.

please do not use them I would rather hire a blind excavator operator with not arms to dig my yard... I recently discovered sewage backing up into my basement (YUCK!), and not sure how long it had been happening before we noticed the smell.

Needless to say, I called Roto-Rooter. They had someone snake the pipe, and immediately give us a quote to clean up the disaster it had caused.

They also inspected the rest of the line with a camera incase there was anything else going on. Their cleanup crew were the true superstars- full hazmat suits working until 7:30pm...

and Roto-Rooter is dealing directly with the insurance company- so hopefully that helps streamline the process! We did have their plumber quote a separate but related steam pipe leak- but I decided to go with my local/regular plumber for that- at 1/2 the price! Roto-Rooter is amazing for messy, emergency projects, but I'll always prefer my local plumber for non-urgent issues. I worked with this company twice.

The first time in 2022 and again in 2023 for a plumbing issue. In 2022 I did not have the funds to complete the job so I delayed until 2023 .

I called them back thinking I would get the same or similar pricing. They more than doubled the price and had a hole in my basement for several days because I refused to finish the job with them after having the sales person up charge me.

Don't do it. Not a trustworthy company in my opinion.

Beware their charges, estimates and the attempt to exceed the necessary services. I called the service for a regular clogged sink and toilet, and the technician claimed we needed to remove the toilet for $1,600.

We knew that was BS, so we told him to try snaking it. He kept resisting, saying that it wouldn't work.

We insisted, and of course, it worked. And then he upcharged us like crazy for just snaking the toilet, even though when booking the appointment, they told us the visit itself wouldn't cost anything.

It took the technician less than 5 mins to unclogg. I never write reviews like this but I was genuinely terrified from my experience with Roto so I am going to share.

My toilet was clogged at night and I only have one bathroom so I had to call a plumber quickly. I called Roto and kept asking for a ball park quote but they would not give it to me.

After two hours they sent a plumber to my apartment and HE QUOTED ME $500. Ridiculous.

I negotiated it down to 300 but he kept trying to add additional charges / services that I TOLD HIM I DID NOT WANT. He also made me sign the invoice paper BEFORE he filled out the form / added the price and charges.

SO SKETCHY. As a woman alone in my apartment, I was terrified.

He was able to unclog my toilet with a machine quickly, but then he spent 15 minutes "filling out the invoice papers." When I finally got the bill he tried to only give me $100 off (which would make the service $400). That was NOT what we agreed on.

Finally he put the correct amount. Then, I told him my credit card number and the app he was using would not take my credit card, so I had to go get him cash at an ATM.

DO NOT USE ROTO. They are insanely overpriced scammers and extremely creepy especially if you are a woman alone in your apartment.

I called to see if there was something they could do to offset the $650 bill for 30 mins and they gave me a $20 off coupon. Lesson learned, people do your research before calling them.

They "snaked" my main line, $350, then i asked for a camera, they couldn't get use it because i needed another service where i was quoted $1250, and still charged for for the camera which he coudlnt "see" which was another $300. I just called another place and they said that was insane and they would have charged, if anything $300 to snake and take a look.

Had I not been in a rush, could have hired someone else for much much cheaper I called to have a leaking faucet fixed in my bathtub. When the representative showed up he wanted to tear out the whole wall.

I told him I didn't understand why they would have to rip out the wall as the research I did online said it was most likely the cartridge in the faucet handle. I got a second opinion and the new plumber fixed it in 20 minutes.

It went from a wall rip out to just changing a simple cartridge saving me a lot of time and money. I don't know what that particular plumbers experience was but he was definitely over selling the job.

These plumbers would be considered novice or apprentice in any true plumber shop. USE SOMEONE ELSE!!!! The worst.

We had a clogged sewer line so I called what I expected to be a reputable business - Roto-Rooter, but nothing could have been further than the truth. Called Friday (3/17/23) and they sent someone out immediately.

Guy comes in and after doing zero investigative work of any pipes says "we are going to need the jet guy to come out". Turns out this guy had limited experience, was not a tech, and had no authority to make that decision - more to come here.

Jet guy shows up by himself at 8pm and works his butt off trying to fix the problem. This guy I have no issue with because he had zero support, and clearly limited experience with no formal training.

$1,800 (yes, you read this right) charge. Next day same problem, so nothing was fixed and I'm out $1,800, so I called again.

Saturday (3/18) morning jet guy shows up first thing and tries to remedy the situation. Then what seems to be a closer called "camera guy" shows up around 10a and runs the camera through the line.

Camera guy immediate disclaimer: "I'm in the excavation end of the business so I don't know (or clearly take any responsibility for) what has happened here." Remember: same company. Really zero issue with the line except for a "root" about 16' out that seems to be blocking the line.

Camera runs over 100' with very little issue with the exception of this 'root'. Now comes the up-sell.

"Well, there is clearly a root issue in your line and I think you need to have the chain service to clear the line." Our iron line is 30' until you hit clay - the clay was completely clear and, but for the "root" and some accumulated sludge in the iron pipe, the line was clear. "That will be $100 per foot or $3,000 to clear just the iron line", says the camera guy.

WTF? You charged me $1,800 for nothing at this point and now you distance your business (excavation) from the other (jet guy) even though you are the same company? Nice. Quality service.

But it gets better... "But what I recommend is to excavate the pipe because it's clearly at issue or put in an outside trap...that will run you anywhere between $12k and 15K." say the camera guy.

Ok, I'm done with these guys. I get the bid for the line (chain) clear, get a copy of the video, and schedule service for Monday (3/20).

I immediately reach out to friends and family for professional recommendations and ultimately cancel Roto-Rooter. Professional recommendation comes in and snakes the line (this is important because IT WAS NEVER DONE BEFORE BY ROTO-ROOTER).

Issue at about 16' was confirmed. New group runs a camera and determines that the issue is not a "root" but rather a the head of a toilet brush stuck in the line blocking solids.

This all takes about 30 mins. So let's recap: * Roto-Rooter sends un-qualified and un-prepared employee out to determine job characteristics that doesn't do any actual work - NOT EVEN TO SNAKE THE LINE - and calls jet guy * Jet guy works hard to no avail * Camera guy screws jet guy by saying "different departments" and tries to say "all is well - trust us - the company will do right by you" * Camera guy gives me crazy $$ bid for work that doesn't need to be done and talks to management to "get to the bottom of this" and says someone will be reaching out to discuss.

TO BE CLEAR: I waited 24 hours to Sunday (3/19) afternoon to see if anyone from Roto-Rooter would call...crickets...and as I'm writing this on Monday (3/20) night, still nothing. * Camera guy admits that the person sent out was a recovery guy (clean-up only), was not a "tech", and had no business making any determination on the problem.

* Further, camera guy's information shows that a "tech" did show up. I can tell you that this is complete BS and CYA at it's best because nobody else showed up and they know they f-ed up.

New group fixed the issue immediately and we are back in business. But for the hard work of the jet guy I would have given Roto-Rooter no stars.

Avoid at all costs. Unable to clean backed up sewer line.

Trued for 20 minutes and wanted to charge $300. Our septic pipe had backed up into our finished basement leaving about of a quarter inch of sludge approximately 16 sq ft area on the floor.

We called Roto-Rooter and they got there within an hour , fixed the clog and then recommended that they remove all the baseboards and replace all the sheet rock up 2 ft from the floor. I thought this was unnecessary as the sludge was only on a small part of the floor and was removed within a few hours.

In addition, they recommended their cameraman come in and take a look to see what other problems there may be in the sewage line. When their servicemen came several days later he looked into the pipe with the camera and said that the pipe was completely collapsed before it got into the septic tank.

He estimated that the cost would be approximately $9,000 to replace the septic line. I dug the septic line out myself and saw that there was no collapse anywhere in the line.
