I can't say enough about what a pleasure it was to work with all of them. I strongly recommend this company and, although I hope I don't need them again, I will definitely call them should my house develop more problems that are in Akian's wheelhouse.
They are very friendly and nice and the new installed AC is working well so far. The reason I remove one star is because that it took one additional day to diagnose a clogged port issue, hope they are more familiar with new model installation.
Update: I removed another star since they promised to process the mass save application, but I keep receiving missing document email from mass save and Akian just ignored my email to upload the document through the portal as required by mass save. After half a month since I provided the Eversource bill to Akian and 3 reminder email, it was still not uploaded.
They want me to send email to mass save by myself, but the requirement is through the portal. Kudos to Akian for being available in a reasonable timeline, after being either ignored by multiple other companies or scheduled in January (calling in October).
George provided a great estimate on my old heater that was fair and accurate and aligned with my prior research and additional independent expert opinion, and Jimmy and Barry did a great job installing a new heater, testing, explaining what all the parts were, and leaving the space clean before leaving. They additionally assisted with a problematic delivery person (not Akian) who caused a bit of damage to my property when delivering the new heater in the morning and was then rude and threatening when I pointed out the damage -- Jimmy fixed the damage and Marisa immediately followed up on the phone to make sure I was ok.
10/10 great service! We ended up having a plumbing problem and reached out to recommended plumbers via Yelp based on their reviews. These guys were great, gave us several different options to solve our current issue and prevent future issues.
It ended up being a 4 day job (we've got an old house with ancient pipes). They did a great job and cleaned up every day they were here.

A longtime customer, I started with Akian at its inception. The company I started with and have recommended in the past no longer exists.
It charges about $130 just to show up and have now outsourced customer support to people who barely speak English. They will apply the fee if you agree to their quote which lately 2-3x of current market rate.
Either you pay $130 for a brief consult, or you pay grossly inflated prices. Thankfully, I found other ethical professionals who provide price transparency, charge fair market prices, and do not mark-up parts 50% or more.
Great service and reliable. Though the work took a bit of time the plumber replaced the draining system in the bathroom sink had and its improved the experience for my tenants Super helpful furnace maintenance - identified other small issues and explained which needed repair and which were more "optional" or to monitor.

Manny did a great job inspecting, communicating about the issues, answering my questions, and getting the system cleaned/serviced. I appreciate that I could always quickly get someone on the phone quickly if I had any questions.
However, I'm deducting one star because of some scheduling issues. One appointment was confirmed for Monday (got an email and text from Akian confirming) but then was moved to Tuesday without anyone notifying me.
Additionally, I had one appointment scheduled for a week out but they came the next day. Generally communication about scheduling was very good however I think there were some issues with the system managing the appointments that put me in a bind 2x.
Akion was so responsive from my first request, and fit us in for an appointment a week earlier than initial availability. Phil, our technician, was able to quickly identify our AC problem, and was super friendly and transparent throughout the whole process.
Since we do need to replace our unit, Phil also set us up to consult with the replacement team before he left our house! I would highly recommend Akion for their high quality service and responsiveness. This was our first time working with Akion, but we will definitely be using them again in the future! I've used them before and have always been happy with their friendly attitude from the time I called to getting the job done well.
Every plumber has been excellent, courteous, and right on time. I contacted Akian Plumbing to assess a non-responsive furnace.
After providing a credit card for the $130 dispatch fee they sent a tech out same day. After another $200 diagnosis fee the tech informed me that my furnace was unsafe to operate and needed to be replaced.
The tech stated the combustion chamber was likely cracked, but stated I could be reimbursed the combined $330 dispatch/diagnosis expenses if I purchased a new furnace via Akian. Fortunately, I had a Carrier HVAC certified technician visit later the same day.
He replaced a single blown fuse, preformed a full inspection, and provided a system tune up to have my existing furnace work as good as new. Not to mention, stated there was no safety risk at all.
Later I got the Akian Furnace replacement of quote: $24,000.00. Upon researching the new furnace/air handler model Akian quoted I realized it was ~$8,000 in hardware...
Summary of experience: Paid $330 to be coaxed into unnecessarily replacing a perfectly operational furnace. Akian sort to make a ~$16,000 gross profit with their unethical business model.

The experience was completely seamless! I called on a Wednesday and the water heater was installed on Friday. Both Evan and Berkeley were polite, showed up on time and had the new heater installed fairly quickly.

They were available quickly and arrived promptly. But after two visits and almost $1000, they did not fix my clogged sink.
I was reluctant to follow their advice to replace multiple basement pipes; I told them I'd just sold my condo and didn't want to incur unnecessary expenses before moving. When I asked if they were sure that these pipes were causing the clog, they said were "99 percent sure," so I had to let them do it.
The clog remains, and I was stuck with a huge bill. This seems wrong to me.

Phil completed the service within a few hours and provided several options as next steps and walked me through them all. The company is doing a special price for cooling system PMs right now too so the service cost was reasonable.

Easy recommend I had Akian install forced air AC and Heat for my first floor condo. They were able to access the underside of the floor because the basement was finished.

Background: I had a service call today for maintenance on my hot water heater (had a blinking red light), and the service tech said he would not open it because it was near the end of life. He said he'd charge me a $129 visit fee, but I could replace the water heater as it was likely to fail soon.
Under pressure to make an immediate decision or pay $129 for nothing, I agreed to replace it and in my shock stupidly signed their estimate of $4,575 (to install a replacement 40-gallon tank water heater with flue to the outside for off gassing). However, after a quick internet search, several sources including Home Depot's website suggested the national average for installing a similar tank would be less than $2,000.
I objected to the service tech and spoke to one of their front office folks. Their explanation: we do better quality service, we are better trained, we need to pay our workers, and we'll be there for you in an emergency.
There is no way to verify this! Let me add that my original appointment with them was for 3 days ago, they cancelled at last minute and we rescheduled for today. Let me also add that the person who answered the phone on my first call made two different WRONG assumptions (kept saying I had a tankless water heater when I said that it was a tank).
In the end, they knocked off a measly $200 to the bill. I feel cheated!!! And the service isn't stellar.

Bathtub had been draining very slowly for a few months, and I couldn't snake it myself because the trip lever to access the pipe was completely stuck in place and couldn't be removed. Uriel came on the scheduled day and started by replacing the broken fixtures -- he was able to replace the trip lever as well as the bathtub spout (which had a stuck diverter).
After that did not fix the drainage issue, he stayed and snaked out the drain. As I said, it's an old building so it was a tricky clog to find, but he was finally able to find and pull out the clog.
He cleaned up the area before he left. My roommates and I are now enjoying a fully functional bathtub and shower.

Our HVAC had some serious problems because the previous company we hired didn't install the smart thermostats right and messed up the wiring. Manny came up, investigated the AC in the attic and the furnace in the basement, and thought carefully for 5-10 minutes.
Then he explained the potential problem and provided very reasonable quotes with different options. After I accepted the quote, he implemented the proposal which fixed the problem right away.
He even cleaned up the chaos wiring by the previous company. During the process, he was willing to answer any questions.
I learned a lot from him and really enjoyed the conversations. Manny always put on shoes' cover whenever entering the living space and took them off whenever entering the attic and basement.
Given he had to move from one place to another quite often, I really appreciate his consideration and the discipline he stuck to. Finally, I also believe Akian really engages in their business and cares about their clients.

This company appears to operate solely to sell expensive, and likely unnecessary, system overhauls. Several weeks ago I called to have a faucet replaced and a sink stopper replaced.
The plumbing folks showed up and spoke with my husband, who was very busy in the middle of meetings, about how our system (which has worked great for over 15 years) "needed" major changes and pressured him into putting down a deposit of $1,000 for a multi-thousand project. They did not replace the faucet (which I had ready to install), and they did not replace the sink stopper.
When I got home I balked, called the company for a refund and hired another company, which completed both jobs for $300. All works great.
We decided to give their air conditioning service unit a try. (I made this decision based upon their relatively high reviews, which my husband reminded me companies often pay for.) Over three weeks ago I scheduled an appointment for today, which was the earliest appointment available, to have our air conditioning units maintained.
In the past this has meant a very simple hour or two appointment to replace the filters, clean the unit, replace freon, etc. Again, a suave businessman showed up, did no work whatsoever, but had lots of urgent suggestions about how our entire system needs a large and a multi-thousand-dollar overhaul.

James the technician spent easily an hour and a half researching the problem. After ruling out what he could, he told me we could proceed with a more sophisticated diagnostic test or simply proceed with replacement.
He showed me the rusty coils and as the refrigerant has been banned by the EPA , I knew it made no sense to repair. We later found out Akian no longer installs or services this type of heat pump.
James was very apologetic and refunded me $50 of the $129. James worked hard to diagnose and potentially fix the problem.
He did not do a hard sell, but wanted to know what I thought of the options. Later, when James found out they could not proceed with the ideal solution, he was apologetic and happy to refund me.
I would call them again in a second. George and Jimmy did wonderful job.

I'm sorry I selected Akian Plumbing & Air Condition of Watertown to replace my home boiler. Their procedures and workmanship resulted in the gas company shutting off my gas service for safety reasons because of a gas leak and it couldn't be restored because they hadn't pulled the permit to do the work in the first place.
Akian's response to the problem left me as a 75 year old woman without heat, hot water and gas for cooking from 8:00 pm on Thursday until the next Tuesday (5days) when the town inspector signed off after Akian corrected the problems and National Grid turned the gas back on. While Akian repeatedly apologized for the problem, communications with them was chaotic with multple people getting involved without contributing to a resolution.
The whole experince makes me question their work on the things I can't see and the entire ordeal was extremely frustrating and disruptive. Had a great experience with Akian & the plumber they sent George A.

He is very professional, explains what he is doing, and gives honest recommendations of next steps. Scheduling is very easy, and Akian is proactive in routine maintenance to prevent small issues from becoming larger ones.
We're happy to have them. Can't say because they never responded when I contacted them and had an extensive chat -based inquiry (meaning that there was someone on the other end) and gave them the exact details of a replacement HVAC system that I was putting out to bid.
They promised to schedule and follow up with a zoom-based virtual meeting with their installation engineers. Never happened.
Would never move forward with a firm like this - then again - I encountered a few others who were similarly non-responsive. But did find one that stood behind their bid of a few months earlier and provided photos of prior installs and the representative come on-site (again), was extremely knowledgeable and professional.
Bid awarded and search over. Good luck to anyone who has to deal with these other non-responsive business.

Every time, they're professional, prompt, transparent, and diligent. We know exactly what we're getting, how much it'll cost, and given multiple options to proceed with.
Most recently, we've worked with Phil and Orlando to assess how we might be able to resolve an issue with our system intermittently turning off and they presented clear paths forward. We were lucky to then have Jhonatan, Jorge, and Justin come in quickly and swap out our existing system for one that was a better fit for our home.

I was in the market to replace my 20-year-old failing 2 zone central AC system with either a new central AC system or a high efficiency heat pump system. I reached out to 3 companies to come assess and quote for both systems so that I could make the most informed decision.
The first company I reached out to was Kerivan-Lane who does my oil deliveries and who I have service contracts with for my AC and furnace. I've had good luck with them in the past and I thought given the relationship I had would get good service.
After my initial call they called back a few days later to setup an appointment for the next week. The guy that came out looked at the systems and gave me some ballpark ideas for what the cost may be with a formal quote to come a few days later.
A few days passed with no quote so I reached out and they said it would be with me soon. A few more weeks pass, and I still don't have it, I reach out and he's on vacation and says he'll get it to me the next week when he's back.
It's now 6 months later and I haven't heard anything so scratch that. Keep in mind that this system would be $20k-$45k so it's very surprising that they wouldn't at least get me a quote.
I also reached out to a local company right up the road from me, LeBlanc Mechanical, who I haven't worked with before. They took my message and said they would reach back out about coming to quote, but I never heard back from them after.
Working with Akian was an entirely different experience. They setup my appointment during my initial call with them for about a week later.
On the day of the appointment, I got a text that Steve Akian was on the way with a link to show you exactly where his truck was so you could anticipate exact arrival time. Steve, the owner, spent far more time looking at my existing system than Kerivan-Lane and asked specific questions about issues I was having in order to better inform his quote.
He then asked to give him 30 minutes to prepare the quote that we could talk through. He went to his truck and prepared 4 separate quotes for various systems in that time for all the possible options I was interested in.
He went through each in detail, and we worked together to come up with the best proposal balancing my needs/wants and cost. He also went into details on the MassSave programs available where I could get a $25k 0% interest HEAT loan as well as large rebates depending on the system to help pay for the system.
While the quote from Akian was likely on the higher end of what others may have been, I got a strong sense that Akian would do a great job and take care of me. After a month or so of not hearing back from the others I signed the contract with Akian.
The job was scheduled about 6 weeks after I signed the contract to allow time to get all the equipment in and find the right window. Keep in mind this was during the height of supply chain shortages with COVID so the timeframe was very reasonable.
After the job was scheduled, however, it quickly became clear to Steve that all the equipment I needed wouldn't be here in time for the job. Instead of just pushing the job out, Steve worked directly with the vendor to see what other alternatives there were.
I could have gotten a less efficient system for a bit of a cost savings which I didn't want to do, so he got the vendor to give a better rate and got me a MORE efficient system at NO ADDITIONAL COST to me. Once we agreed on that Steve also learned that the combination of heat pump and air handler we were going to use wouldn't qualify me for the highest MassSave Rebate I was expecting, so he then upgrade the air handler and control system at NO ADDITIONAL COST to me.
In the end, the job did wind up getting delayed an additional 2 weeks to get all the parts in but that wasn't an issue. During this time Steve also helped me work through the details of getting a MassSave HEAT loan to pay for a large portion of the system.
Steve's technicians, primarily Zach and sometimes John, were at my house for a week removing the old system and installing the new system. During the whole process they were clean, courteous and communicated very well as to what they were doing.
When they were finished Zach made sure I had a complete understanding of the how the system ran and to reach out should I have any issues. I did wind up have a couple issues related to one part of the install which isn't unexpected for a large job like this.
Each time though somebody from Akian was at the house within a few hours of me calling to rectify the issue. After the install, Akian also helped me with the paperwork required to get the MassSave rebates.
Overall, my experience with Akian was exceptional. I don't think I've ever worked with such a modern and well-run service company.
I would highly recommend Akian for your heating & air conditioning needs to anybody. Our toilet was leaking to the basement causing some damages to the drywall ceiling in the basement.
We call Akian heating and plumbing company and we appreciated their prompt response and sending their plumbing engineer George Aroush who came and inspecting the cause and the damages from the leak, he gave us options and recommendation and within few days a new toilet seat was installed professionally and no further leak is noted. George was a good handy, professional and pleasant to work with.
Akian helped me fix the plumbing in my rental apartment that hadn't been updated in years. Toilet now works the way it's supposed to.

Plumbing: Called in Akian for their plumbing services, an issue with my boiler. Bill came out on a Friday to look it over.
Turns out new piping was needed to run it safely, a bigger job which needed to be scheduled the following week. But Bill went out of his way to make some fixes to get me through the cold weekend.

I wrote this review out of frustration because I had reached out to several plumbing companies, I either didn't get a response or a response that they wouldn't come out to my unit.
I took Akian Plumbing's rejection personally which is my fault. Tara, the customer service manager took the time to personally called me to get an understanding of what happened and I got an understanding from their perspective why they don't service certain areas.
Anyways, really appreciate this conversation and commend them for being excellent with customer service. Over the years, we've found that the guys who deliver new appliances can be kind of hit-and-run in their work.

As expected, our technician Uri did a very thorough and savvy job with all the connections (gag, electric, and water) and appliance positioning. The job also included replacing a choked-up dry vent with new metal tubing, which should make a big difference in dryer performane.

For example, we got charged $633 (includes $99 dispatch fee) for an hour of work changing a bathroom faucet that we provided (which was well reviewed as a super easy installation by DYI folk). Anyway, it's hard to get plumbers in nowadays.
Akian is pretty easy but you pay significantly more for their services. I had my split system repaired by Akian.
The service by Manny was excellent. He took the AC apart, changed out some old parts and thoroughly cleaned the system.
