What was to be a reasonably priced repair of a cracked shower head pipe, within hours, turned into an order of magnitude more expensive water damage cleanup effort. $15 Dollar Sewer and Drain takes no accountability.
While neither myself nor $15 Dollar Sewer and Drain can with total certainty point to a root cause for significant water leakage across a 300 square foot area directly under where the repair work was performed. It must be noted that the water pattern in the ceiling (pictures below) show origination from the point of repair and the leaking took place within 3 hours of the repair.
The probability of an unrelated event taking place in such close proximity in space and time is unfathomable. On October 14th, 2023 a leak formed on the outside of the home, a dripping leak, at an overhang that on the interior contained a shower/tub.
Use of that shower/tub was immediately ceased and no more leaking occurred. Various evaluations and estimates were collected from different plumbers that considered internal through tile access versus exterior through stucco access to fix what was identified as a cracked shower pipe - between October 15th and November 3rd, where after $15 Dollar Sewer and Drain inspected the job and provided an estimate - the estimate was accepted and the job scheduled for November 7th, which was subsequently moved to November 8th.
On November 8th at 10:06am Pacific, the technician arrives (Ring Camera documents the following chronology). At 12:10pm Pacific, technician leaves to get additional parts At 12:32pm Pacific technician returns with new parts At 1:19pm Pacific technician leaves At 4:12pm Pacific water is first noticed dripping from the 1st floor ceiling along a route originating from the overhang shower where work was performed.
At the time of realization it is further realized that this has been occurring for some amount of time - minutes or hours - as the couch is saturated (see photos) and water has pooled on the floor (see photos). It should be further noted, that upon reviewing security camera footage, the technician never turned off the water main during their repair, which $15 Dollar Sewer and Drain claimed was not needed because the location of work was not pressurized - while true, it would seem extremely careless to not do as a precaution.
At 4:23 pm after shutting off the water mains, the issue is reported to $15 Dollar Sewer and Drain who sends the technician back out. The technician arrives at 5:39 pm Pacific and spends 10-15 minutes inspecting the work and performing checks before than proceeding to turn the water main back on.
Upon turning the water main back on there is no more leaking. There has been no more leaking since October 8th when the technician came back, performed his checks, and turned the water main back on.
$15 Dollar Sewer and Drain ownership has not been responsive in correspondence on this issue - taking multiple attempts by email and phone to get a response to each and every correspondence. They have not taken customer service seriously and have stated it is impossible to determine a leak that does not re-occur, which normally I would agree with, if they had not done repair work hours prior to said leak.
The managing technician did come out in an attempt to identify some other cause of the leak, but by his own admission could see no issues, even when the ceiling was fully opened up and he was able to inspect all of the related plumbing. As a cherry on top, as is typically the case with tradeskills, the call out fee is rolled into the service charge of you choose to use them - and $15 Dollar said this would be the case as well - they did not adhere to this and I was charged separately.
I highly discourage anyone from using this company as you are gambling that your costs will be 10x higher than you think. Plumber came on time.

Who could ask for more! In plenty of time to start cooking... I am compelled to write this review due to a recent, extremely disappointing interaction with $15 Sewer Drain (now $115 Sewer Drain), which has prompted concerns over their business practices.
Back in September 2021, I reached out to this company to inspect a plumbing issue at my house after experiencing an overflow. A technician was dispatched, conducted a camera inspection, and mentioned a potential broken pipe, suggesting that it might require excavation and replacement.
He promised a follow-up proposal to address the issue. Unfortunately, that follow-up never came.
Despite the urgency of the matter, I received no communication or proposal, prompting me to go with another company to resolve the plumbing issue. Fast forward to three years later, after I moved out of the house, I was surprised to receive an invoice from them demanding payment of $115.
The invoice threatened to send the matter to collections if not paid in full. This invoice came without any prior billing or reminders over the three-year period since the service was supposedly rendered.
It is incredibly frustrating to be billed for a service that was not only inadequately explained but also never followed through with the necessary repair plans. I understand that small businesses can face challenges, and I initially refrained from posting a negative review to avoid causing harm.
However, the recent demand for payment for an unresolved service from years ago is unacceptable and reflects poorly on their commitment to customer service and integrity. I hope this feedback prompts $15 Sewer Drain to reconsider their billing practices and communication strategies.
As of now, I would caution potential customers to consider other more reliable and transparent service providers. The service center guys were very gentle and called me 10 mins ahead of the technician arriving, Larry who did the job was very polite as well and he did a snake to the clogged drain done in 20 mins quickly.
Price is also reasonable. Also asked few other questions towards clean out that got answered perfectly.
Highly recommend this company! I have used $15 Dollar Sewer and Drain for over 30 years to clean out drains at my house and at my mother-in-law's house. In some cases, they had to cut through tree roots using their rotary saw attachment.
They were always able to unclog the drain. For the past three times, Martin Benitez has done the work.
Martin is prompt, friendly, and very professional. If I have a future drain problem, I will not hesitate to ask for Martin again.
Called for consultation regarding toilet leak at floor seal , told needs to pull toilet to seal flange . Ordered new toilet to replace older toilet , day of service scheduled at 10am changed to 11 am to 1:00pm window , no show , then they changed to 3;00pm, shows up at 4:00pm! Had to clean all drains , then after installing new toilet , I was told that we needed new flange .
Then at 7:30pm ish they left & when returned to use toilet , new toilet installed , DOES NOT FLUSH completely Savannah , (bad customer service) told me that low water toilets are not line the old ones . He used a fiber optic camera to show how badly clogged the pipe leading to the P trap. I couldn't believe my eyes when I see all the gunk he snaked out of it.
Probably few pounds of grease. He even cleaned up nicely after everything is done and thoroughly checked other plumbing that wasn't part of the issue to ensure no other unexpected issues present.

Water heater had problem in my house, and I have AHS warranty to cover the repair cost for my house. AHS assigned $15 dollar sewer and drain as contractor to handle this project.
For the first appointment to check the water heater, the technician was 2 hours late. For the second appointment to replace the water heater, the technician was 4 hours behind schedule.
Technician told me that we needed to pay the upgrade cost since city code was updated, and AHS would not cover that. We were ok.
When the project was done, we found that a metal pan was inserted under the water heater and two hoses were replaced. These were the upgraded which cost was $660.

Beware! Shady Business - Scamming and Credit Card Misuse Initially, I requested the $15 Sewer and Drain Company to address a draining issue with my kitchen sink, for which I was charged $125. This was satisfactory until a subsequent unauthorized charge of $165 began appearing monthly on my credit card statement.
They even sent emails showing no relation to my name, address, or actual service availed. Upon realizing this, I immediately contacted their customer service for clarification.
Unfortunately, they told repeatedly that it wasn't the right time, or that the relevant accounting department personnel were unavailable, effectively stonewalling any attempt at clarification. It's sad to see such practices where a business charges your credit card under false pretenses.

They took advantage of our ignorance and age and upsold us on replacing our pipes. Thy were also training new employees and supervisors left them alone while they drove off.

I called them up on a Sunday night to make an appointment for a Tuesday and the person was very courteous even though they were working on a weekend. The process to book a plumber was very easy and the lady listened in great detail to what I had to say about the previous plumbing company that had been out to our house and what we needed.
The day of the appointment I received a reminder. I was also notified when the plumber was in route from one location to my house and so the communication was great.
The plumber arrived greeted me and got right to work. Within 15 minutes the drain was completely fixed and was draining perfectly in our tub.
We had another company out the week before and they could not fix the problem and they also said we had a water overflow kit that needed to be replaced. I asked the plumber about the water flow kit and he said it is loose.
He then tightened it and made sure it was good to go. When the plumber entered the house he put protective covers over his shoes so he would not get our house dirty he was very careful with his machines not to drip anything on the floors.
Once he had found what was clogging our drain he showed it to me and gave suggestions on what to do to prevent it. He also communicated to the on-site manager everything he needed.
I know that the experience with this plumber was made even better because I just had a bad experience with a different company but they were really excellent. They will definitely take care of you and get the job done I am very impressed.

Then I asked him to unclog the laundry sink. He said it'd be another job -- which reset the clock and will be at $150/hour again.

I enjoyed using their service until today i got a phone call about putting me on a do not service list?? First of all the service was done around december last year(4 months ago), the technician asked for my credit and put it in their 'system'. According to the lady on phone today, they are just copying my credit card info but never put it in.
Secondly, I got an email calling me Whinny? I don't know what kind of professional uses such an offensive word as name. I replied the email, and never get a reply.
Lastly, the lady on phone insists i should pay right away on phone. I said i need to check my bank account, she said if you don't pay now then i ll put you to collection service.
What kind of training did this person receive? After arguing, she finally accept that i can check my bank account. I follow all the instructions to get my service, and now i deserve to be called names, no right to double check, and even putting me on collection? What a joke So thankful for this company.
Everyone I've met here has so much heart, professionalism, cleanliness, expertise and ease with repairs. I've called them on three occasions, twice for different drains being plugged for different reasons and once for a water heater hose that went out.

Get ready for a shitty job. Called as I had to replace galvanize faucet which had gone bad, they came and replaced it but 2 days later where they connected started leaking.
The second guy comes and he fixed it and I told him to try before he go he said he has been doing this for 20 years and it won't leak. Fast forward 20 days later started leaking again.
Called someone else they fixed it properly but he showed me that they never soldier the joints that's why it was leaking. They didn't use any fireproof material and all stud and dry wall burned.

Horrible company. Tried to sell a $2500 installation of a two way clean out, claiming there was no outside clean out to run snake to unplug.
They said they couldn't run snake down toilet that was off. Said we would have to install new clean out in driveway.
Found the outside cleanout had a legit company run snake and reinstall toilet that they left disconnected. $300.00! Oh they had the audacity to call and demand 115.00 for nothing.
Threatened collection, asked to speak to supervisor, no response Called them for an emergency service (toilets plugged-nothing moving) on a Sunday night and they got one of the plumbers to the job. He was knowledgeable, nice, went right to work and got line cleared in a short time.

When a contractor mistakenly drilled into a pipe, we had water spraying everywhere. We had to shut down water to the building, which meant no rest room for our staff or customers for many hours.
We called several plumbing companies, all of whom refused to come out until we had first gotten a certified asbestos assessment. What?? In a plumbing emergency? From whom?? The state doesn't require this for small repairs under 100 square feet.
Finally some friends of ours who operate an apartment complex recommended $15 Sewer and Drain. We called them and they were so different from the other plumbers we'd called.
They were reassuring on the phone, and said they would come and look asap. They were at our place within 2 hours, and saw that the pipe was easily accessible - less than 1" deep.

We had a blocked drain in the kitchen. Called $15 Sewer and Drain around 4 pm and they said they would be there by 6 pm.
Arrived at 5:30 and had the problem fixed before 6 pm. James was our plumber and he is excellent! Very friendly, polite, experienced and professional.
If a another problem arises, $15 will be our first call. They came to fix a small drainage problem.
I told them that when I ran the garbage disposal, the water came up the other side of the sink. Genius decided to fix that by plugging up the other side of the sink.
Guess what? They flooded the kitchen! Note, they had not changed or fixed anything before doing this. I have used this company 2 times and both times was excellent.

I like that they are always prompt and send a text when they are arriving. I recommend this service b 7 years ago I used their service and they did a good job for a little more that reasonable price.
I got accurate estimate and scope of the work explained. A few days ago they came again to replace a toilet seat seal.
In the middle of the job they increase the price by 1 1/2 times with reduced scope of the work. It is simple job so quality is expected and that is not to be considered in the "start" review.

on one occasion they sent a technician and the technician realize that the problem was on the city side of the drain, and after working on it for an hour charged me nothing because he was unable to resolve the problem. I called the city and they came and fixed the issue.
On another occasion I had a tankless water heater that have gone out, James did a great job of working to attempt to fix the old unit, calling the manufacturer and working with them, To determine that the unit was 18 years old, and was beyond repair. he yhen worked until long after dark to install the new unit, and made sure that we had hot water that night.
I would really recommend them, had only very good experience I am so happy with $15 sewer and drain. I knew I only needed to get a pipe cleared out that was backing up and was dreading the over charge that big companies would surely cost.
Not only were they priced hundreds of dollars less thank Roto Rooter and another plumbing service but they were also extremely professional and showed up within 40minutes of me calling. No extra charge! They didn't try to upsell me and were very respectful of my time.
Best of all, they cleaned up the area they worked on :) Please please please..give this privately owned company a call for any plumbing services you need first! They don't over charge and you will be very happy:) The plumber was on time and finished the job in half an hour. Got a quote, not cheap; guy comes in and tells it will be double the original quote plus no warranty on the repair.
