Review and analyze now for company Action Jackson Drain Cleaning & Plumbing and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''Action Jackson came to our home for the first time in 2011, to diagnose and fix a problem that two other comapnies were unable to figure out. I kept Frank's card for future reference.
In 2022, we asked them to provide a quote for diagnosing, repairing and lining our side sewer. Thankfully, they were able to do the work in two phases, allowing us to divide the payments accordingly.
Phase 1 was completed last year in 2023 and phase two was recently completed in the fall of 2024. In both cases, the work was done perfectly, efficiently and cleanly within their quoted time frame.
They encountered obstacles which they couldn't have forseen yet they remained calm while they navigated each one to it's perfect conclusion. The team was a pleasure to watch.
The work is grueling and demands phenomenal strength as well as careful precision. It was a carefully coreographed surgery with brilliant results.
I especially enjoyed listening to their occasional upbeat banter in the midst of performing all the difficult tasks. I highly recommend this company and their gifted team of professionals.
There is no other company I would consider using. They went above and beyond.
Their value is unsurpassed. Very quick response, on time arrival, quickly fixed the issue and called right away to give me update once it was done.
Gave me a quote upon request and fixed my clogged toilet, as promised. So our toilet kept making this hissing noise after we flushed it, so we called Action Jackson because we had used them before.
We remembered how nice and helpful they had been too. This time they were able to schedule us the very next morning.
They arrived 15 minutes before the time which is a nice change to a lot of places that give you a time window and they show up an hour past. Jay arrived and accessed the issue and was able to fix everything in less than an hour.
I will definitely call them again if a situation arises. These are A+ professionals.
We had multiple sump pump issues, they arrived immediately to our emergencies and were so clear and prompt in their communication. I really appreciated Isaac's patience in explaining options and recommendations.
Pricing was also fair when I got quotes from different plumbers. This is a reliable team and we will definitely call them again in the future.
Action Jackson delivered for us! Amazing work, done quickly and at a fair price to repair a sewer connection issue that was discovered during a routine scope of the line . The team on site did the whole work in mess than a day and saved our our prize trees in the process.
Could not be happier with the whole experience. After being let down by another plumber, we had a great experience with Action Jackson Plumbing.
We had arranged for Ready Rooter to come out and do a smoke test on our plumbing to tackle sewer smells coming from our basement toilet, but they failed to arrive. We reached out to a few other companies and were referred to Action Jackson, who were able to come out the same day.
The technician, Elias, was professional, knowledgeable and punctual. He took a look and said that we didn't need the $2000+ smoke test that the other company had recommended and that he had worked out what the problem was.
He replaced the wax seal on the toilet with a special double configuration, eradicating a problem that has dogged us for nearly a year. This is an excellent example of why it is essential to get multiple opinions when dealing with contractors and why it often makes sense to ignore the big national companies that seem to have mediocre professionals working for them and stick to small, local businesses with solid referrals.
I wholeheartedly recommend Action Jackson and will use the company again! We had a major clog that resulted in our waste water backing up and dumping into our basement. Upon discovery I used yelp to find a plumber and I had someone scheduled to come out and on the way before 8am the same day.
The crew that came out was professional, courteous and seemed like all around great guys. They got the clog removed and got us set up for the water damage guys to come out in an hour or two.
The price was competitive as far as I can tell and I will definitely look to Action Jackson Plumbing for our plumbing needs in the future! This plumber advertises emergency services 24/7. However, don't believe it.
Our condominiums property manager has called them multiple times for emergency services and not received any response. I personally called them for an active leak in my own unit - ceiling came down, water running, carpet soaked.
The recorded message said to send a text message and provided a number. I did that and did not receive a response for two hours! The response was "I will call you in the morning".
For an active leak??? Luckily McLeod was already there by then. Our condo board member called them to do a drain cleaning service in one of our units and an active leak occurred while the technician was there.
He informed us that he himself was not a plumber (something they act like you're an idiot if you don't know - but really who besides a plumber would know that?) so he could not address this leak and then informed us that their current plumber (singular!?) was not available. So we had to call another company to fix the issue - and they call themselves a 24/7 emergency service? In our multiple experiences, they certainly are not.
Their receptionist is condescending to boot - you need to totally understand plumbing vs. drain cleaning services or you are wrong.
Disappointing "service" all around - we won't call again. I called Action Jackson early in the morning on 3/21/24 - my sewer line was backing up, as it sometimes does due to tree roots.
I requested Jay. Jay and his team of Tristen, Elia and Josh arrived within a few hours.
They hydrojetted the line and used a camera to ensure the roots were removed. They were businesslike, professional and worked quickly as a team.
I particularly appreciated their quick response. Stacia on the phone was very helpful too.
My dishwasher and food disposal were backing up into each other. I called the plumber *highly recommended* by my realtor...
and ended up paying $875 to have my basement flooded with pretty significant damage. Think twice before you call this company and definitely ask the people who show up to walk through the house before they do anything.
Unfortunately, the two (very sweet but young and now, I'm realizing, inexperienced) techs who showed up didn't do a walk through first (of our 1943 house, which is... bound to have some nuances).
They then immediately decided to jet, not snake, or even test a jet first, and flooded my basement causing at least $4k in damage. There were a number of misses made by this service and when I asked if I could talk to a manager before billing, I was told they couldn't leave the premises without getting payment.
It made me feel very uncomfortable to have been forced into a solution not knowing any other options, forced into a price, and left with no recourse to challenge it. Absolutely disappointed and feel very disrespected as a customer.
Not to mention, still undoing the damage left. The silver lining: I called another company (2 Sons Plumbing) and they diagnosed the issue and fixed it without flooding anything and at HALF THE PRICE.
our usual plumber was out of town, they were quick to come out & complete the job. We chose them because they are family-owned and local.
Great customer service. Call back on a Sunday.
Price was explained and held to. Showed up right on time and very pleasant.
Great experience We have used this business a few times in the past for drain issues and were always pleased with the service and prices. Last month we had issues with two bathroom sinks draining slowly so of course we called Action Jackson.
I noticed a bit of sticker shock as their prices have gone up noticeably. We were charged $455 to clear two bathroom sinks.
I figured fine, we have always been happy with their work, so I guess it's worth it. Now a little over a month after they were here one of the bathroom sinks is stopped up again.
I called to see what they could do and was told that there is no guarantee, but they would be happy to come out again for another charge. I'm sure they would be happy to come out for another $455 to clear a sink that stayed clear a month.
I understand that there are possible explanations that are out of their control, but for the same sink to be stopped up again after just over a month? I guess it's more an expectation that a properly cleared drain will stay clear more than 6 weeks. I'm very disappointed because they had provided such good service in the past.
I guess they are more interested in job stability than customer service, so we have to find another plumber now. Called to have reoccurring roots cleared in the 4" sewer line about 26' out from the plugged toilet with easy outdoor clean out port.
Was offered an approx. $250-300 dollar fee and an additional $700.00 for water jetting.
I declined the water jetting and asked for the traditional roto rooter service. I was not home but my sister in law said the service man was here just a few minutes, unclogged the toilet and left.
I called Action Jackson to inquire and was told they do not use a snake with a cutter, only water jetting. Had they told me that when I first called, I would have called someone else.
Looks like I wasted $300.00, as they refuse to snake my line. Looks like new owners, as past experiences with Action Jackson were always positive, as they had previously snaked and photographed my lines.
Had a clogged drain pipe. They came, hydrojet it, told me everything was fine.
I checked it - the water ran fine. Thanked and paid them $900.
A few days later, the first time someone uses the toilet (it's a guest room, not used all the time) it immediately clogged again. I called them, and they wouldn't even send someone to take a look - tell me it's not their responsibility.
6/1/22 update: After 3 days when I was promised that the manager would call me and they never did, I gave up and called Greenlake Sewer. They sent Brian, who took care of the problem in 1/2 hr; didn't require hydrojetting - simple snaking was all that was required, so it cost $350 (compared with the $900 that Action Jackson charged me.
Conclusion: avoid Action Jackson; I recommend Greenlake Sewer. the company came out to clean a washer outflow line.
in the process, they damaged my washing machine. they also forgot to turn the water back on.
i called immediately, and the person who answered the phone said 'they couldn't possibly have done that,; (she wasn't there). After 3 hours, and many phone calls, they finally came back to turn the water on.
they denied causing the damage, even though--if it was there before they got there--they would have mentioned something. for 2 months now, i have been calling to get an invoice and to resolve the issue.
all i get is excuses and lies that the invoice was sent. there is no customer service.
there are numerous plumbers--go with one who will stand behind their work. Action Jackson saved the day when we experienced a tricky clog in our kitchen sink on Thanksgiving.
They responded quickly, gave us a clear outline of potential repair options and prices for each, and showed up right on time. The plumbers were professional and courteous, explained exactly what they were doing, and left the job site clean and tidy when they were done.
They tried each of the repair options in ascending order of cost, and we weren't charged for those that didn't work. Ultimately, it wasn't cheap to hydrojet the giant grease blockage in our kitchen line ($926 including tax, which was competitive with estimates from competitors), but the level of service we received made the cost easier to swallow.
-0. They came twice and they said all the drains were "Clear all the way to the street" and "there shouldn't be anymore backups".
It's a rental and no one was living in the house for months. Then I rented it out and one week later the drains were clogged and spilling out of the clean out valve.
I was quoted over a $1000 to hydro jet the drains after being told there wouldn't be anymore backups. I received zero guarantee on the work after the tech told me the work was guaranteed.
So I went elsewhere and got guaranteed work for MUCH LESS money. I remember when Action Jackson used to be fair.
I guess now that they're big shots and rolling in the dough they don't care about their customers. Some people can never hoard enough money.
Bye Felicia. It's a really pleasure to have Jackson and his team to work with us! I live in Mercer island and the basement was floating at around 9 pm, everyone at home worked for almost 4 hrs and that when we reached AJP.
Fastest response and great job done among all. They checked everything and said the main pipe of city has been clogged.
And helped a lot the following day to communicate with the Mercer island city hall. A solid 5/5 stars and will definitely come back!! I've used Action Jackson Plumbing on now three (3) occasions.
The first two to conduct presale inspections on a home and the most recent to save us well over $12,000 in unnecessary work - on a Saturday during Presidents' Day weekend. * Back Story We had a competitor company come out to try to resolve a backup sewer issues in our kitchen sewer stack.
After opening the walls to find the area, I problem was identified as an uncapped 1 1/2" copper line. The competitor company said they would be unable to get past the curves in the piping to see if there was an issue in the sewer stack, let alone try to be able to unclog any potential blockage.
To address the issue, the competitor provided a $13,000 bid which would include going into the floor slab. This competitor did not try to do any visual camera scoping or cleaning using the uncapped copper pipe that was discovered or any other area they could access.
Our prior real estate agent and friend recommended calling Action Jackson to get a second opinion. * End I provided an Action Jackson representative photos and a brief but detailed explanation of the situation and competitor's assessment.
The owner followed up within a small window of time to provide his assessment and to offer their help. Work was done on a Sunday morning by Action Jackson.
While the initial snaking and camera scoping took multiple attempts to get past the blockage, they succeeded in clearing and then cleaning (using jet cleaner) the line. Not only was the owner and associate beyond helpful and direct, the two individual plumbers that came out where of the upmost professional and helpful.
Even if they had not succeeded in clearing the sewer, based on our interaction with the members of Action Jackson, I would have asked for them to complete the more major work as estimated by the competitor. Robel came first thing Christmas morning, and diagnosed and fixed our problem, and cleaned up, in less than an hour.
He was super friendly and explained everything clearly and walked us through what we could do to prevent it in the future. Could not recommend this company more.
Action Jackson did a fantastic job clearing a clog in our main sewer line. I had another provider out, and they charged me $900 to attempt to clear the clog.
The plumber arrived an hour later than they said, and then pulled the toilet and spent over an hour trying to get his snake into our main sewer line. I had to go down into the crawlspace to take some photos for him of how the plumbing was laid out and it still took him a bunch of time after that.
He kept sending the snake up and out the roof vent and jamming up into the toilet in the next bathroom. He had to call for backup as he didn't have a scope camera with him.
Together with his supervisor, they scoped it and located the spot where they thought the clog was - 7 ft down in my front yard. They didn't want to run the snake or a hydrojet for fear of getting it stuck in our house's backflow preventer check-valve.
They recommended digging to inspect the pipe and see what was there. (!!!) I sent them home (with $900).
:( By then, I'd gotten a recommendation for Action Jackson through a neighbor. Don Jackson called me, clearly explained up-front pricing ($800 on Monday, $1000 to come immediately on Sunday evening).
I told them to come, and they had a tech onsite on time in 45m. It was immediately obvious that Robel was the real deal.
Within 20m of being onsite, he had hopped up on our roof, fed his hydrojet through the vent, found the clog, and CLEARED IT. Robel then did a through job of scoping the line, seeing the roots, sending in some different hydrojet heads to cut all the roots out and make sure the problem was dealt with.
Great work, toilets back in business, Thank you Robel, Colleen, and Don! Action Jackson came out the same day we called with our sewer overflow issue. Isaac was great! Friendly, efficient and knowledgeable.
He explained what he was doing and also made recommendations for future actions such as an annual scope. We were greatly relieved to have our sewer issue resolved the same day we noticed it! Thanks Isaac and Action Jackson! A clog in our system backed up the whole house on a Saturday, and I was referred by another plumber to Action Jackson.
They were on-site and doing the hydro jet cleanout within hours. Quick, efficient, and professional.
Very pleased with their service. Shout out to Anthony and Uchenna.
Who spent last Saturday with me for 4 hours, these guys would not give up. I am so grateful we successfully resolved the problem.
My tenants were happy and so was I. I called them and they came out within the hour.
You can't go wrong with Action Jackson, they are professional and know their stuff! Professionals all the way. COMSUMER BEWARE! I usually don't write bad reviews, but I have no choice to write this review to warn other customers don't be a victim like me.
Action Jackson Plumbing did a clogged drainage service at my place before about 3 years ago (12/2019). I called them again on 10/28/2022 due to the same problem but this time only one bathroom got clogged up instead of both bathrooms like last time.
They gave me a quote of $760 cash for hydrojet. When the guys showed up, I asked them to flush out all the drainage pipes on both side of my house and make sure no residues remain inside the pipes from the bathrooms to the main line and clear out the roots as well.
After 45 minutes, the tech, Tristen, said it was all done. He said there are roots cut into the pipes and some blockages at the front yard and at about 88 feet in the parking lot.
He also said he will send me the receipt and the video of the camera of the pipes. A few days later on 11/2/2022, my mom was admitted to the hospital and after 10 days in ICU, she passed away there.
I was gone for 3 weeks to take care of my Mom and her funeral. I didn't get home until 11/19/2022.
I contacted Action Jackson as soon as I found out about the clogged drainage of my shower and my bathroom sink on 11/21/2022. I spoke to Isaac and he said I must pay another $250 for him to send a guy out to my place for another service.
That was when I realized that I did not receive any receipts nor video of the pipes from the service on 10/28/2022. Isaac then forwarded the receipt to me but not the video yet.
Until now I still can not see what wrong with my drainage pipes... I asked Isaac to come out to clear my drainage as a courtesy because I just paid them $760 a few weeks ago and I was gone for the whole time.
He refused to do so. Then I asked to speak to the owner.
He said he will pass my number to the owner but no guarantee that the owner will call me. I waited for 1 hour for the owner, but no calls back.
I called the office again and this time I spoke to a woman. She told me Isaac is an owner and what Isaac said is final and she hung up phone on me.
This morning (11/22/2022) I tried to call the office again and hoped we can resolve the problem, but to my surprises, all my calls were transferred directly to a voice mail (even though they have 24/7 answering service). I left 3 messages but no one calls me back.
I decided to drive to the office with hoping I can solve the problem with the owner. I met Angela who told me the owner was not there and she sent a text to the owner.
I was waiting for the owner to call back but another clerk came out asked me to leave the property and she threated to call police on me because I was trespassing. She was very rude.
I could not believe how this company can treat their customer like that. They are extremely unprofessional and unfriendly.
At this point, I highly recommend everyone to save your time and money. Please avoid Action Jackson Plumbing at all time.
Thank you for reading my story and taking on my recommendation. Had these guys out for service before and while a bit expensive they got the job done.
Called them again today for a quote to replace part of my main sewer line and they had no record of doing business with me. OK, told the gal on the phone the issue was currently happening and if they could get someone out ASAP they would get my business.
Guy comes out and says he can't give me a quote because the issue is currently happening and wanted to charge me 250 dollars to clear it for the quote. So much for a free estimate.
I made it very clear the issue was happening over the phone to the gal and she even called the guy and called me back to try and make it same day. Called the office back to express my u happiness with wasting their guys time and mine and she acted like it was no big deal.
Very poor customer service. This company is extremely unprofessional.
My sink got clogged and it was full of grease. I asked South West Plumbing to check and they gave me several plans (hydro-jet to main line or city line) and quotes on them.
I think that is too expensive so I checked with other companies. Action Jackson gave me a rough quote in the phone call and I told them my case was complex and I want their tech to check in the field and give me exact charges for different plan.
And I told them the house is rent house so I will not be on-site. I wait for quite a long time and no one called me.
So I called them and they told me that my work was done. I was so surprised because I didn't ask them to start the work before talking with me.
So they finished the work and it is one of the simplest solution in the plans South West provided, which is not my first choice to solve my sewer problem. And because I am not there, I have no right to pay with check but have to pay 3% more with credit card.
I tried to reason with them, should admit, I want to ask for some discount. And who won't in this kind of quote? Because I am waiting for my final quote for detail, I didn't ask anything through the phone.
They rejected my request and told me that on their note I asked their service right away and I am not on-site so I should pay with 3% more. I tried to talk to the manager but got rejected.
Later the owner called me, she was not tried to call to solve the argument but just warn me that they did everything right and I am only trying to get money back after work is done. I am sharing this story here to let everyone how this company works before you quote for its service.
Requested a quote for sewer repair and cleaning. Received a quote in writing, got a date set, so went to get a permit from the utility company.
All of a sudden they backed out of their quote saying "we don't want to do the job unless you pay more". This whole procedure took us more than two weeks and now we're left without a prospect of having the job done in the near future.
Avoid at all cost. I've used these guys three times over 6 years.
The first two times were for a backed up pipe in the laundry room: they came a second time because there were now roots in the pipe that needed cleared with special tools and they did a good job - no issues since. Most recently, I called them to install new shower heads and faucets.
The plumber came out and told me to call someone else to replace the faucets because they didn't touch the type I had. Knowing I had to pay him $99 anyway for a call out fee, we asked him to install new shower heads.
He did the job, but left all the old pipe sitting. Instead of a new-looking shower, I have an old shower pipe with a new head - a job I could have done myself.
He replaced one faucet in a sink and then charged is $275 for the job. I feel like this company is good at dealing with blocked pipes and underwhelming at dealing with new faucets.
They told us to call Quality Plumbing to do the job instead. But if I'd done that I'd have been put $100 just for a referral.
In summary, I won't call them again. You'd think that when I had explained what I wanted on the phone they could have saved everyone a bunch of time and money by referring me to a specialist at that time.
Now I have to get someone else to come and redo all the work I had wanted done in the first place. I had a great experience with this company from start to finish.
They were knowledgeable, to the point where they knew exactly what was wrong the minute I told them over the phone. They came promptly and fixed the problem.
The guys who did the service were friendly and professional. They answered all of my questions and left me 10000x less stressed than when they arrived.
Best of all they were VERY safe when it came to covid practices. 10/10! I just want to say Awesome.
Since when does a plumber get there early? on a day with 4" of Snow? These guys had a great attitude and were very professional. We had a stopped up kitchen sink, that I could not clear with a 25' snake.
They put the trap back together, accessed the bypass and had the drain cleaned in 25 minutes, that included treating the drain. Even my landlord who owned all the townhouses came in half way through was impressed and they did not even know that was who it was.
They were even gracious to move their van when my lazy azz daughter had to go to work in the middle of fixing it. (She was warned they were coming and thought eh plumbers they will be late) I called Sunday and left a message, they called me back and I was set up with an 8am Monday appointment, and did I say it, they were EARLY! I cannot say enough about these guys.
Except because they were so fast I felt obligated to go to work instead of playing hooky on a snow day. Have had these guys out two times only to say that he can't do anything to help and then leave less than 5 minutes later, or try to leave.
First time, we had to basically say, we need you to do SOMETHING to check on this pipe... please? He eventually agreed to run a rooter through it for about 10 minutes and got some stuff out.
He would have left if we didn't implore him to try something to check on the problem. I provided descriptions of the (separate) problems both times, when they arrived, there wasn't any surprise or new information.
They could have just said over the phone "we don't do that kind of work" or "there's nothing more to do" or "I wouldn't do anything" or something, anything other than this... twice in a row.
Second problem, a leak behind the wall in the shower... provided a full complete description of the problem.
Water dripping behind the wall from somewhere in the shower assembly. Came out, looked up the hole we cut, went upstairs to the shower, looked at our shower handle and was like "not sure how to get that one off...
but anyway, not sure if I do that kind of work anyway, here are some other numbers to call" and literally left in like 5 minutes. Didn't even try.
I don't want to be a negative/spiteful person, but we've given this company now two separate $99 minimums for basically nothing. I asked for my money back this time only to be told "oops we already ran it".
AJ - If the description doesn't sound like your scope of work, or if you don't think you can help, please let people know. We feel kind of scammed.
Update: Was personally contacted by the owner over the weekend. Thank you for reaching out and making things right.
Called them on a Friday at about noon just hoping they could help us with a clog in main drain out of the kitchen before the weekend. Well, here it is 3:30 and Jay just left.
Problem solved. Very reasonable cost.
Could not be happier. Can't say how awesome this company is.
I was referred to them by Kings Plumbing for a clog we were having leaving both toilets unusable. Called them Thursday morning and with Stacia's help they were there in less then an hour.
The guys were in and out in an hour and price was less then we thought. Definitely keep their number on file.
Called Action Jackson to schedule a sewer scope as I've done before. Started off the conversation asking if they would go to Marysville, as I know that's pretty far out.
They said yes so I went ahead and scheduled. Found out after the scope that there is a $100 trip charge to Marysville.
I would not have scheduled had I known the price would be $100 higher than I expected. Action Jackson replaced five feet of our sewer main and hydro jetted the rest of the line of debris and rocks from root intrusions.
Very professional, courteous, and always on time. They helped make our home buying experience very good.
Highly recommend them for your plumbing and drain needs! We started out with a sewer scope from Action Jackson, which resulted in them telling us there were some roots, and then part of the way to the sewer main, a giant one that the camera couldn't get past. They recommended hydrojetting.
Honestly, looking at the video, we couldn't tell whether the roots were big or actually blocked the camera from proceeding, but we assumed they were the experts and knew, so we went ahead and ordered the hydrojet. When they come back for the hydrojet, they "discover" that they're not able to proceed because they hit some T joint or the pipes got too small getting out of the house, and "need" to dig out my patio and install a cleanout, outside my house to proceed with the hydrojet.
Several problems here. First, if they did the sewer scope, they should have already known what the pipes looked like on the way to the root blockage.
Why recommend a service that you already know can't be done? Second, they charged me for the hydrojet, even though they didn't do anything, and should have already known they couldn't before they came out. Third, not only did they charge for not actually doing the hydrojet, they're asking for several more thousand dollars to proceed.
Fourth, was there really a blockage? Did they already know about the access issues, and just wanted to lead to the expensive cleanout solution? In any of those cases, it's dishonest and just wrong. Anyway, I found another company that came out, cleared out the blockage, for much cheaper, and also in less than 30 minutes.
Problem solved, without all the drama. I for sure will not be using Action Jackson ever again, and have let everyone I know to not trust this company.
I hope others will be able to learn from our bad experience. Action Jackson is a fantastic business and they deliver as promised every time.
I recently had the opportunity to work with Jay and Josh and both were very professional, courteous, and provided a clear and concise breakdown of options. I am a realtor and need a professional crew that is exceptionally skilled while also being excellent at communicating and making my clients feel very comfortable as they are often present during the sewer scopes.
Action Jackson delivers every time and I'm thankful I had an opportunity to work with Jay and Josh. Highly recommended! We're in the midst of trying to both sell our house and buy another - a very stressful and hectic undertaking with a ton of moving parts.
We needed a sewer scope FAST and called Action Jackson on the advice of our realtor and wow am I glad we did. I called Friday, the technician was able to come Monday and was efficient, professional and courteous.
The office manager (Colleen?) was also terrific and very kind, going above and beyond getting me the written report the same day so we could include it in our offer. The house we bid on unfortunately fell through, but we know when the next one comes up who we will call - thank you Action Jackson team!! Our house was under contract and the buyer wanted to do a sewer scope.
They arrived at the appointed time and literally marched into my home as if they knew where the scope needed to go. Quite rude really.
As they were about to remove a metal plate from my basement shower room I asked if they didn't need to be where the main sewer line entered the house? They looked at me in shock and said yes ma'am. I then proceeded to take them outside to where the correct area was.
We have a stop valve from the main sewer into our home which I wanted to be sure they were aware of so as not to damage anything when scoping. That was at 1.00pm-the next day, at 8.00am it becomes apparent as my basement is flooding that they'd shut off the valve so no sewage or grey water could leave my house and it had been collecting all afternoon and evening-totally unacceptable! While they have been very quick this morning to come back and send out a remediation crew this should never have happened.
The crew that came to scope were not competent and I certainly couldn't recommend their services as sewer experts! I contacted this company about scoping and potentially hydrojetting a clogged exterior drain. Their estimate ranged from $600-800 based on payment type.
I wasn't sure if they could do the job, but they eventually offered to do it for $500. They couldn't scope or hydrojet the problem drain and they still charged me $500.
So no problem solved and now I'm out $500. A licensed plumber wouldn't charge this much and I would probably have an answer to my question.
I give 3 stars instead of 1 because the techs were nice I found Action via a couple of NextDoor neighbor recommendations. I called Monday evening & the crew arrive on time, to the minute the following morning.
Quick, efficient, thorough, knowledgeable & clean. No upsell.
My new go-to for my mainline clean out! Just had a sump pump failure in our french drain during heavy, heavy rain and we called Action Jackson to see what could be done. The woman who answered the phone explained their process very professionally and thoroughly and sent out Anthony within an hour which was amazingly fast and exceeded our expectations on timing.
Anthony was great - super friendly and professional, and quickly diagnosed that it was a failure with the float and got it replaced quickly. We were very pleased with every part of this experience and Anthony helped bring a lot of relief to a potentially very serious situation (there was a LOT of water that could have ended up against our foundation).
We will recommend their services to everyone we know in the area. Very responsive, came same morning I called.
We're very clear with pricing and setting expectations on the phone before coming out. Techs who came on the job were friendly professional and informative.
Would recommend them to friends and call action Jackson again if I ever have more plumbing issues. The 2 guys who came out to our house were very nice, that said, they gave us some flawed information.
I was told that when they ran a cable down our basement drain that either the pipe had a hole in it, or that the pipe cover was faulty because the cable came back up through our flooring. I stopped listening after I heard "jackhammers".
I called our contractor who sent out another guy who told me that they must've run the cable through the wrong hole (seriously???). He plugged up the TWO holes and told me to buy some bio clean.
Seriously saved me hundreds if not thousands. Recently had a sewer backup in my rental house.
The AJ guys were able to come out really quickly. Due to an unusually tricky situation, the problem didn't get fully solved, but immediately after I mentioned the lingering problem they came back out and solved it at no charge.
Multiple employees I spoke with were very knowledgeable and nice and explained things in a way that made sense to me. I will definitely call them again for work in the future.
Action Jackson took our money and provided no service. We had them out to scope our backyard drainage.
When they arrived, they told us they would need to cut into our downspouts and would leave holes they would not repair. I asked if they had any other options than damaging our home and they said no.
We decided to not have them cut irreparable holes into our property and ended the visit. If they had let us know at the time of booking this may need to be done, I would not have scheduled.
Although they provided no service, they forced us to pay $130 by threatening a lien on our house. Very shady practices and terrible customer service - steer clear! These guys quickly cleared my clogged kitchen sink.
Highly recommend Jay and his crew. They arrived early, were fun and professional.
Always a great sign when they are talking about equipment and techniques - they care about their work. I hope I don't need them again but if so they're my first call.
I do have to say that the people they sent were very nice and polite. That said, they gave me inaccurate information that ended up costing me thousands of dollars.
Action Jackson did my sewer scope when I bought my house and said it would need to be redone in a year or two to check on a concerning section of the sewer line. I had them do the second sewer scope and they said a section of the sewer line was wearing out and needed to be replaced.
No clogs or anything. I had a different company come out to do the work and when they dug it up nothing they had told me was accurate - either about the direction of the pipe (they said there was a 90 degree turn where there was none) or about the fact that it needed replacing.
It was an expensive proposition to dig up my yard and put in a clean out. I wouldn't have done if I knew that it was not necessary.
Avoid this company. Action Jackson did a fine job in clearing weeds blocking my plumbing.
They used a hydro-jet and video to find the problem spots and checked the entire line out to where it joins in the street. They showed me the weeds they found and provided videos of the work.
The 2 plumbers were very professional and cleaned up very well after themselves. Thanks for the fine work! I called upon Action Jackson today to help us with a little lake in our parking lot.
A nice young man showed up exactly on time and he was GREAT! He communicated clearly and did exactly what he said he would do. Looked me in the eye and was an all around great human being.
He had a great attitude and was so professional which is unusual for a "kid" of his age. I will definitely hire Action Jackson for any future needs! I needed my sewer jetted and inspected soon as a condition of selling my house.
They were able to make it out at 11:00 on the day I called. Three guys showed up and jetted and scoped the sewer out to the street.
These guys were both professional and hilarious and seemed to enjoy what they did. Definitely a 5* experience! Don is THE MAN!! We had a pipe burst and he was able to fit us in between appointments when all other companies tried to push us back for days...
including a company we USED to use all the time. Don was in and out in no time and great price! Can't recommend him and Action Jackson enough...
we used to use that other company, but now Action Jackson has our business for life! Thank you again, Don!! What a great experience! We had a sewer issues and from the original phone call to the completion of the job they were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional! I won't call anyone else!!! These guys are awesome! Before we discovered Action Jackson we had other plumbers that would consistently show up late, not do what the said, or be unable to solve problems and still charged us! We have used this company several times for plumbing issues with two properties that we own in Seattle and they are consistent. Most recently I called with a drainage issue, Anthony and Braydon were able to show up within 45 minutes and solved the problem! Action Jackson Plumbing (owners Don and Nikki Jackson) is NOT a company you want to hire.
We were referred to this company by someone we totally trust and sadly we did not check reviews or a BBB rating first, given our plumbing emergency situation. They were hired to come clear a drain when our normal plumber was not available.
They came out, took a few minutes to clear the line, and then presented an invoice for $902. I had to call them the next day to get a copy of the invoice sent.
Yep, it really was more than 3 or 4 times the normal cost of this service. Refused to reconsider price charged as they were not asked to provide an estimate first nor did they offer to provide an estimate.
After this problem I went to see what the BBB rating was. The BBB rating is a D-.
View positive reviews here with big dose of skepticism. As you can see on any comments from owners regarding complaints, their response is always the customer Is wrong.
Hard to believe they have managed to keep this business open for 8 years. They also own Northwest Sewer and Northwest Hydrojetting per the BBB page for this company.
Update: The owner did dispute my review here so let me add that I clearly stated my displeasure with the price in my review, but I guess I should have been more specific. The problem should have been fixed by running a snake in the drain which would have taken the same 20 minute visit and cost $200 - $300.
No one advised us that the method your employees would use to clear the drain would be more expensive than the most time and cost efficient method of just running a snake. I'm sure the owner will put that on me for not requiring an estimate, but he doesn't need to post another comment to lie about the situation.
I stated this was my fault for not checking BBB and Yelp comments. THIS IS MY WARNING TO POTENTIAL NEW CUSTOMERS - DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY OR THEIR SISTER COMPANIES.
If you're looking for a plumber to fix your sump pump, do not use Action Jackson. We first contacted Action Jackson in December 2015 because our sump pump alarm was going off.
It was $2,000 to install their recommended $300 1/2 horsepower pump. Two months later, the new pump stopped working because the one they installed wasn't powerful enough for our system.
They told us the only solution was to dig out the basin and replace it with a larger basin at $10,000+. Action Jackson told us to go through their sister company Sewer Friendly because there wasn't anything else they could do.
Additionally, Action Jackson showed up in our backyard multiple times unannounced and uninvited. They also took the sewage in our basin and dumped it in the alley behind our house.
This is illegal dumping of raw sewage and is completely disgusting. Lastly, they didn't put the pump lid back on correctly after finishing the job which goes against house codes.
We felt very uncomfortable moving forward so we started doing more research. We had 4 different plumbers assess our situation, each one telling us that the 1/2 horsepower pump Action Jackson installed would never be powerful enough for our home's sewer system.
We contacted Action Jackson multiple times to get our money back, but the owner would never call us back. We ended up contacting our bank to get a full refund.
I had a plumbing problem and called Action Jackson. I explained the problem to them in detail and they agreed to send someone out for a mandatory pre-charge of about $120, which would be applied to the bill, should I accept.
The plumber showed up, assessed the situation and told me he could not fix it and that I needed to call a full service plumber, as Action Jackson did only simple plumbing and he did not have the necessary parts to do the job. It cost me close to $140 in total to be told they could not fix the problem.
I was not impressed. Look elsewhere.
Their business practices are not customer friendly. Had a slow-running laundry drain that was fixed fairly quickly.
Some hard pipe turns required pro service. The crew was professional, friendly, and efficient even though it was nothing major.
Only peeve was the billing where a discount was applied to an unexpected travel service fee/TOT that offset the charge and Seattle tax was applied even though the job was outside Seattle. Minor but noticeable.
Would use again and recommend if the accounting is more accurate. Action Jackson was awesome.
Really appreciated that they worked on short notice during the inspection period of purchasing a house, attempted to do a masceration of tree roots but identified a break in the sewer line instead and had to stop work. This wasn't their fault, it was the home we were looking at purchasing.
Would hire these folks over and over as the scheduling was prompt, the communication was clear, and the pricing was competitive if not lower. Best family owned drain cleaning company in the greater Seattle area! Always on time, professional and prepared to do anything necessary! Just had a fantastic experience with Anthony & Brian from Action Jackson.
First off, I called this morning at 7:15am and they were there by 9am - they do a lot of work up in the north end (Everett) as we have 100 year old homes with 100 year old plumbing! Anyhow, quick fix with a clogged kitchen sink line. Both gentleman were personable and professional - certainly an asset to the company.
I have several rental properties and always call them when I need their service. I hope I won't need their services again but then there's that whole reality thing....
Thanks again guys! We had an overflow in our basement. We called and they came out promptly, fixed us right up after quoting us a price, and everything is much better now.
We've had a few plumber interactions with our house but I think I can finally say I found the right company to call, every time. Action Jackson came to the rescue on a Sunday when the toilet wax ring on a rental top floor condo gave out and started leaking into the below condo.
They gave a window of time that they would be there and they were. Our tenant is a nervous person and she was very comfortable with the person who came and their service.
Action Jackson has serviced our condo complex in the past and was referred by our condo manager. Thanks! I've used Action Jackson three times in the two years since we bought our house; once for the sewer inspection, again to clean out a clogged kitchen vent, and finally to clear a blockage from the main drain.
Each time they've been prompt, professional, thorough, and reasonably priced. I just wanted to thank Action Jackson for the caliber of people you hire as employees.
