Review and analyze now for company Button Plumbing & Heating and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''Responsive, skilled and reasonably priced. What more can I asked for at this trying times.
Non-emergency appointments are about three weeks out when this post is written. This is reasonable considering the current high demand on housing contractors.
In the past few years starting pre-covid I have been using Button at least 6 times for residential hardware installation/ replacement jobs. They were completed efficiently without any follow up issues.
Highly recommend for non urgent plumbing work. (I haven't tried using them for back ups so can't comment on that) TLDR: Hired Button Plumbing for a bathtub replacement and they failed to communicate about the progress and completion, damaged my bathroom walls and support beams, and left me to re-set the toilet and tub faucet after they promised to do so but failed to show up.
Do not hire Button Plumbing for any job--big or small. They will botch the big jobs and not show up for small jobs.
I hired Button Plumbing to replace a bathtub in my house (that I rent out) after a crack had formed in the existing tub. I was initially pleased with the responsiveness and timing of communications, but this is far overshadowed by the poor workmanship and subsequent lack of communication.
Button Plumbing provided a bid to me based upon me having the bottom level of tile removed around the tub, which was both to reduce their costs and to ensure the remaining (unremoved) tile was preserved without damage. I hired a contractor to remove the tile and provided pictures to Button Plumbing to confirm the same.
My contractor was extremely careful in removing the tile and preserving the cement backerboard so that new tile could be placed once the old tub was removed and the new tub was set (see pictures). Button Plumbing began work for what was expected to be a full one-day job.
I was notified that evening that the drain on the new tub was difficult to connect so they would have to go back to cut a hole in the ceiling of my garage for access. This was my first disturbing update but my garage has an unfinished ceiling so I was not too concerned about this additional work or the cutting into the ceiling.
Without further contact from Button Plumbing, my tenant asked me a week later when the toilet would be re-set in the bathroom and if they were responsible for debris (scraps of insulation and drywall) left by Button Plumbing. I was appalled by this question because I was not aware the toilet had been removed and would not have expected debris to be left on site.
I called Button Plumbing and was told by Carol she would have Jim come set the toilet that evening. Button Plumbing claimed the toilet was not set because they thought it would make things easier for my contractor to lay new tile; however, Button Plumbing had not confirmed the work was "done" in the first place and I had never communicated to them the tile would be completed immediately thereafter.
Despite being told Jim would be out to replace the toilet that evening, Jim never arrived to set the toilet. My tenant followed up with Button Plumbing and confirmed someone would now be out the next day in the "late afternoon".
Someone arrived at 2pm; however, my tenant was not home since it was not "late afternoon". My tenant subsequently left work early to meet with someone at 4pm but nobody showed up.
Ultimately, my tenant purchased materials and set the toilet because of the lack of communication and follow-through from Button Plumbing. I thereafter brought in my contractor for the installation of the new tile and he notified me the bathtub was unlevel, unset, and there was significant damage to the wall and support beams around the bathtub (entirely different than he had left it--see pictures).
I called Button Plumbing and Carol told me they would get Jim out there to take care of it. Jim then called me to complain about the job and tell me how he shouldn't have taken it in the first place (note: Button Plumbing inspected the job ahead of time).
He then said he would likely have to cut through the drywall in my hallway to secure and level the tub. I expressed my concern about paying nearly $4,000 to have a tub incorrectly replaced and how it was inconceivable he would now have to cut through my hallway (doing more damage) to fix his work.
Jim argued there was no way I paid nearly $4,000, but I assured him I had made the payment only days prior. He then proceeded to tell me the job shouldn't cost that much and he would take care of it.
The tub was secured and leveled two days later, and fortunately Jim did not have to cut through my hallway wall. However, when I contacted Carol about the total costs and Jim's comment to take care of it, she disregarded this and said Jim did not factor in the cost of the tub itself.
The new tile was then installed by my contractor but he was unable to re-attach the faucet because of the extension to the copper pipe that had been placed when the new tub was installed. I called Button Plumbing for the faucet to be installed and Carol asked for my tenant's phone number (which they previously had been provided) to coordinate when they could take care of the faucet.
Nine days later this was still not completed and my tenant purchased what was necessary to take care of the faucet. In the end, I paid nearly $4,000 to Button Plumbing for a headache that required my tenant to replace fixtures after Button Plumbing failed to show up, and another $2,400 paid to my contractor--much of which was to repair the damage caused by Button Plumbing.
Very disappointed in the company. I wouldn't recommend to anyone.
I tried back to connect in 2016, so I thought I'd give another shot. This time was worse.
We had a hard time getting a date together, but he did come by and said the problem was with the regulator value and that he'd find the part and he would get back to us. Never heard back, I called and finally got a time for him to come out last Friday 4-5PM.
No show, so I called the office. They said he's in transit.
Still never showed. He left me a voice mail at 9PM and said he'd call back.
I tried calling back on Saturday, but they never called back. He may do good work, but the no-show is unacceptable.
Jim and his team are amazing. Always get the job done at a fair price.
Highly recommend. Mr.
Button arrived on time and got right to the task of fixing the leaking drain in my kitchen sink. He was pleasant to work with, and did everything that needed to be done.
The price was reasonable, and his office staff were pleasant to work with too. After reading some of the Yelp reviews of local plumbing companies, I was reluctant to hire anyone for this repair.
However, Button Plumbing is efficient and fair, and I'd recommend Button over the companies who spend lots of money on TV advertising. Carol is really responsive via text or phone.
She manages Mr. Button's schedule and he comes out.
The assignment is backlogged and takes 2-3 weeks. We got a water heater installed (50 gallon).
It was tilted but they came back to adjust it on the stand. Friendly man with many years of experience under his belt.
He has an apprentice who helps him with the heavy lifting aspects. The cost was middle of the road, slightly on the higher end but we appreciated the immediate explanation of things and willingness to answer our calls anytime during the day/night.
It was about $1500/installing a new water heater that was U.S.A made. I highly recommend Button Plumbing for any plumbing repairs.
Everyone is super nice & you won't get up charged or ripped off. Great business! Needed some toilets installed and ordered everything through them.
The guy came on time and completed his work well. However made an effort to tell me he was "taking [his] coffee break" about an hour in, and then had to leave to go to ACE hardware to pick up supplies and was gone for about a half hour.
I had to pay for an extra hour of labor because of those things. They're expensive.
I would recommend getting several additional estimates before using them. But they do a good job.
Our house had issues with the kitchen sink which caused the MDF cabinetry below the sink to have significant water damage. After determining that the kitchen faucet was the culprit a new faucet and sink were on the menu.
The old sink was a dual basin which wasted a lot of space. After a contractor had removed the damage to the cabinets from the water leak and sink.
Button's arrived to install and hook up the sink and garbage disposal unit. The technician was thorough and re-did the entire plumbing under the cabinet to the drainage drop to support the new single basin sink.
Could not be happier with the level of professionalism, communication, and final install. Highly recommend Button's for any of your plumbing needs.
The receptionist is also AMAZING! So friendly and easy to work with. Can't ask for a better residential plumber.
I've use Button several times over the years and couldn't be happier with the quality of their work or their pricing. They're a small family owned shop who do things the right way.
You may have to wait a day or two longer than the big name "ripoff" shops but they are worth it. Button Plumbing did a great job for our Bellevue HOA in replacing 3 Hose Bibs and removing a temporary water hookup.
They do their work on an hourly basis which can save you money with many jobs Mr. Button has an easy going manner and got along with the HOA owners involved in the project .
This is a highly desirable skill as many managers and Board members know! My experience is that they are booked weeks in advance. So you must plan ahead.
I I can't recommend them enough! If I could give them a zero I would. We had them come out to review a number of things we needed to get done.
At the end of the inspection they told us that their office would call and get us on the schedule and they would EMAIL AN ESTIMATE. They did call and schedule a date to do the work but they never sent the estimate.
After waiting a few days I called and left a message asking them to contact me. No response.
I called over the next week and a half leaving several more phone messages. No response.
If they didn't want to do the job at least they could send an email with a no bid statement. They could if just called and said they weren't interested.
But to be totally ignored is unacceptable. Total fail.
Don't waste your time. We have specific toilet issue that we indicate in the phone call - drain auger didn't help.
Need to remove the toilet and use specific equipment to clear the pipes. Called to Button plumbing.
Lady responded: "Don't worry, he will arrive with all necessary equipment and your issue will be fixed in that visit". Few days before the appointment we called second time and remind about our pluming issue that specific equipment is necessary.
Lady confirmed and assured that issue will be fixed. When plumber professional arrived, we described the issue to him again and mentioned that drain auger didn't help before (used it several times).
He responded that he didn't have special equipment for this task now, therefore he will perform regular solution with drain auger. Oh...
What would you do? On top of that this plumber professional get back to his car every 10-15 min and smoke something. Heavy smoker? Maybe.
In the end we paid $200+ for 45 min and few days ago we still got the same problem back. As I mentioned: drain auger didn't help.
Don't recommend Button Plumbing & Heating to friends and family members. I had three issues happening with my house plumbing.
In short: kitchen sink draining not, bathroom one installing new shower, sink plumbing and same in the bathroom two. The crew arrived on time, I was explained the options and what it will require.
Once the job was completed the pricing was fair. The crew is always courteous and helpful.
honest, reliable company-Sam is professional, efficient, and a nice guy! I've used them a few times- I highly recommend Button plumbing Great team! I was able to schedule immediately, folks came on-time, knocked the job out, explained everything to us. Highly recommended! Update: second visit, great experience again.
Will always ask them to come for any future problem. Great and extremely pleasant team.
Both the technician and office lady are professional and responsive. Excellent service and reasonable price, I would highly recommend this company to my friends.
Can I give 10 stars??!! The business actually answered my phone call, not routed to voice mail, and voice mail not full. The gal in the office was very pleasant, listened to my questions, answered them, got me a quote within one day after checking with her supplier.
Wow! Got a schedule for install within 2 business days of my call. Chris and Sam were very careful and helpful, cleaned up floor and walls where the old hot water heater had been, answered questions, showed me where my main water turn off was, since I didn't know.
Very pleasant and cheerful. This is now MY plumbing company.
Oh yeah, the price beat Lowe's by $100. Very reasonable for all the hard work they did on the installation.
We scheduled a garbage disposal install and everything was perfect. Done in just under an hour, reasonable and friendly.
Arrived on time and wore shoe covers and a mask. And he was even friendly with our dog.
Highly recommend them for your plumbing needs. Holy cow - an honest contractor is a sea of sharks ! Quick response and great rates.
Job is still being analyzed and I'll update after job award / or completion. But great start so far! Update : buyer took credit but will be using Button, and I'm sure they'll do a great job at reasonable cost.
Great outfit ! little bit late on appointment but good job. Make sure ask estimates they charged by hour plus job and tax.
No ID show me but show up by company car. My friend recommended.
I tried to clear a drain pipe myself and managed to break something. I didn't want to mess with it any more so I went looking for a plumber.
Hiring contractors always makes me nervous as I've been taken to the cleaners a couple times. Button was recommended on our neighborhood bulletin board and had high ratings here on Yelp, so I gave them a call.
They had a backlog of work, but I decided to wait for them instead of hiring someone I would feel more uncertain about. Jim Button made me feel comfortable right away and the repair was done in no time.
The bill was a major relief. He's an honest guy! Glad to have a go-to plumber now.
This is the second time I've had Button Plumbing out to my house in about 5 years for separate jobs/problem/incidents. I called late on Friday about 4:45pm and I was given a Monday appointment with a 9:30am to 11:30am window.
I wasn't flooding or anything so it was not a dire emergency. Matt was great...
showed up 15 minutes past my time window (It's O.K.) but I was happy he made it & was able to handle the job! He was courteous, efficient and I think my small leak used 40 minutes of his time to replace valves and lines. Like most folks, you hope you don't ever need the services of a plumber, but if you do need one, you should check out Button Plumbing.
We've had them do several installs and repairs over the years. Jim went way beyond a routine effort on all work.
The jobs were perfect in every way and the price was very comfortable. Very happy with the work.
They are examples for other shops to follow. Excellent service and reasonable prices.
I have used them several times. The repair work was done quickly and the clean up was good.
We've used Button now twice. First for a clogged kitchen drain - they came quickly and wasn't very expensive.
Secondly - we had a leaking toilet tank. Didn't come out as quick, but they are probably a lot busier now that everyone in Fairwood uses them.
Still very reasonable price. Nice and professional men came out.....i was not concerned having people i didn't know come into my home.
Though - one suggestion....maybe have all your plumbers have some sort of attire with Button on it. Like a baseball cap, t-shirt etc.
Neither time were they wearing anything that easily identified them as being from BUTTON. But thats really a minor issue.
We were very happy and will call again. Installed a toilet readily available on their truck.
Weird little thing, not average size nor shape. It was a piece junk with plastic moving parts.
The plastic parts broke and cannot be replaced due to the non-standard size. So just six months later we have to buy another toilet.
We won't be calling Button. The scheduler was rude and condescending but as they had been referred by someone, I let it go and scheduled (one week later) anyway - mistake! "I'm Mr Button the plumber" arrives 45 minutes after his 2 hour window of scheduled time with no call.
Mr Button was just as rude and condescending as the scheduler and offered no apology, just said "Can't do anything about it and I can leave if you want" Told him to leave. Luckily, I had a referral from another friend.
Called them - they were pleasant on the phone and even more so when they arrived one hour later, did great work in a short amount of time (and charged less per hour than the rude Button plumbing company). Do yourself a favor, skip Button Plumbing and Heating Fast, efficient, fair pricing.
They fixed a clog of sorts in our bath tub and installed a water line for our new refrigerator. I will use these guys again.
Great work. Thank you!! Great team of guys, very professional and quality work.
Will definitely be going to them for all of my plumbing needs Looking through the reviews for Button, it seems the only real complaints are about inadequate customer service over the phone. This confuses me for two reasons.
One, if the plumbers who come to your house are quick, competent, courteous, clean, and fairly priced, who cares how the person on the phone sounds? More confusing than that, however, is that I've recieved superior customer service each time I've called Button; when I began getting quotes for replacing my water heater, each quote came out almost exactly the same. The reason I went with Button was the care she took in explaining the benefits of the different sizes, the cost structure, and what my house's needs would be, without trying to upsell me on anything.
When my furnace died, two men spent over an hour trying to repair it. When they couldn't, they got my gas fireplace working, showed me how to use it to keep my house warm until they could get needed replacement parts for the furnace, and didn't charge me for the time spent working.
When they found that there were none for my ancient, cheap furnace, they installed a new one and beat all of their competitors in price to replace it by a considerable margin. When they replaced some angle stops I wasn't able to remove myself, not only did they beat their competitors' price, but they also fixed a leaking tub drain and showed me how to fix a leaking toilet while they were there.
There are very few companies that I feel comfortable recommending - Les Schwab for tires, BECU for banking - but Button Plumbing has made that list. The Button family have taken care of all my plumbing needs for 2 decades.
They respond quickly, are reasonably priced & have added a bathroom to our home & remodeled the original bathroom. They coordinated with electricians, General contractors & a company that installed quartz slabs.
They've replaced my water main, my garage disposable & now they're coming to replace my old outside faucets. I love Button Plumbing & their whole family! Hi highly recommend Button Plumbing.
Shawn and Justin showed up on time and did an outstanding job. They charge a fair price for their work, they are very polite and hard workers.
We're very fortunate we found such good plumbers! Thank you Button Plumbing. They say they are licensed and bonded...
Make sure of that before having them start. Ask for the name of their Bonding company....they do very sloppy inconsistent work Again Button showed their quality customer service.
When I called for some help with a clogged sink I was told that because they were on a big job it would be a few days before someone could come out. But when I described the situation in more detail they gave me some new ideas aobut how to clear the clog that ended up fixing it.
Unfortunately right after that the garbage disposal gave out so I'll be calling Button right shortly to have that replaced. Ok, so the guys who come out and do the actual work are professional, quick and great at problem solving.
Best part is their prices are reasonable and fair compared to the larger companies in the area. So why did I give the only 2 stars?? Because Carole, the gal who answers the phones is rude, unresponsive and apparently hates her job! WTH?! Why would a company that has the perfect recipe for family owned success employ someone who SERIOUSLY lacks customer service skills? They would make more $$ and have more repeat customers if they fired her and hired an actual nice person.
I will continue to use Button plumbing for my needs because the prices are good, but only until I find another family owned plumbing company with better customer service when you call to set up an appointment or ask a question. The days are numbered that I use Button, and I won't be handing out any positive word of mouth about them.
Button got off on the right foot by being the only company that replied to my Yelp request for a quote with an actual quote. We scheduled everything by email, they showed up right on time to install a new hot water heater and haul away the old one, all for what seemed like a very fair price and exactly what they quoted on Yelp.
They were also very accommodating in making payment arrangements via my bank's online bill pay. Will use again for future plumbing needs.
Quoted me over the phone, which most plumbers wouldn't do, and did the job in no time flat. The plumbing industry is lousy with gougers, but Button treated me right.
Top notch, A+! Great visit by Button Plumbing at http://buttonplumbingco.com . On time, got appt one day after posting off website and leaving phone message.
Clean and neat. We had a pin hole leak off our recirculation line for our hot water circulating pump.
Oh love that device. Got fixed and helped us with our slight leaking 3 outdoor faucets.
Have to get a new expansion tank since full of sediment after 10 years. Can put in ourselves.
Senior discount and cash too. Win win win Was really pleased with the professionalism, and felt they were very honest.
They came out today for 3 backed up bathroom sinks. The guys were very professional and took off their shoes.
They were fast and were knowledgeable of what they were doing. They gave me an explanation of the problem and showed me how they fixed it.
I was happy with their workmanship. I recommend and will use them again! I have used Button Plumbing on two occasions.
The first was when a pipe broke in the garage in December due to the cold. Someone came out the next day and fixed the pipe for just over $100.
The second time I used them was this month to FIX the pipe that was fixed last December. The portion where the repair was made broke.
The woman on the phone was very nice - no issues like some of the other reviews indicate. The men who came out were EARLY, and completed the job in 20 minutes.
Friendly, professional. The only reason why I have not rated 5 stars is because I was charged for a spigot that I did not approve.
They took the liberty of replacing mine and THEN charged me $50 for it. The total cost of the repair plus spigot was $200.
They also left a tool in my garage. I did call back to inform them of my dissatisfaction on how the spigot was handled, and to inform them of the tool being left behind.
Despite two calls to let them know it was still here, it's sitting on my porch one week later..... I will continue to use Button Plumbing in the future.
2nd time Button Plumbing has come and always a great job. It's great to know that they are available when needed.
Thanks Ryan & Austin! Sean (or Shawn) Button and his assistant Matthew were great. Very nice, polite, funny, and easy to talk to.
Kept me informed about what they were doing and thinking. Fixed two of my three problems; for the third he explained very clearly why he couldn't fix it and gave me options.
I was told it would cost $100/hr. He charged me $150/hr because Matthew was with him.
But they were there for 1.5 hours and he only charged me for an hour, so I was happy. They were efficient and clean.
Took their shoes off at the front door and cleaned up after the job. On time.
I have been using button plumbing for the past 7 years. I have respect to the plumber and they did a decent job.
However, my past 2 experiences are fairy poor because of the rude receptionist. I have a job that the plumber came 2 times and after the fix/replacement the leakage still continues.
I tried to talk to the receptionist on the problem, she was very rude and raising her voice when I was telling her the story. There was no patience, no respect or professionalism with her.
Sorry, I am done with with this company. I tried to be loyal, but I can't deal with people lacking of decency and professionalism My wife and I decided that we needed to replace our electric stove with a dual-fuel range.
This required running a gas line from the main in our garage, under the house, and into the kitchen. After some searching, we included Button in our short list of people to give us an estimate.
Their estimate was on par with the lower offers, but they were very clear about how they would perform the work. I decided to choose them because their office was responsive and because the gentlemen who came to my home were prompt, courteous and professional.
Unfortunately, our range arrived damaged and we had to send it back. We couldn't get another one until the day after we'd scheduled the gas line to be installed.
I'm not comfortable trying to install a gas stove myself, so I called Button to reschedule the work. Imagine my surprise when they offered to run the line on Monday and return on Tuesday to finish the installation once the stove was delivered.
This is exactly the kind of service that keeps customers coming back. I really hope that I don't need their services -- but if I do, there is no one I'd rather call.
Thanks Button! While Button was not able to help me on the day after Thanksgiving by sending a plumber (only one truck out and completely booked), they did put me on the wait list, as well as referred me immediately to another plumbing company that they thought could take care of the problem today. That company was able to send someone right out..
A big thanks for being proactive and suggesting a competitor to help me. Much appreciated! These guys were great! They were professional, helpful, and charged reasonably.
It was very easy to get an appointment quickly. On the day of my appointment, they were ahead of schedule and had to wait for me to get home from work.
They were patient and made no qualms about having to wait for me to get home. They also charge for less time than it actually took for them to troubleshoot and really cared about getting the problem solved.
I will definitely call Button plumbing again. Good and bad with this company! The plumbers are amazing, very knowledgeable, thorough and very sweet.
The receptionist however, Carol is a complete nightmare. She is incredibly rude, unprofessional and clearly hates her life and her job.
I have many family members who have used Button and they all had the same experience with Carol and have not used them for further plumbing needs due to her. My family owns many homes, apartments, etc and none of us will be using Button moving forward solely because it is not worth having to deal with Carol.
Too bad she doesn't realize WE, the customers are the ones supporting the business and without customers there is no business. Button has helped us with plumbing issues a number of times.
This week it was a broken water heater, and it was replaced within a day (very nice of them to squeeze us into their busy schedule). Always great service, prompt, and fair prices.
They sent a guy out to take a look at the project and make an estimate. That went very smoothly and he said it would be simple and they would provide an estimate soon.
3 weeks later and after multiple calls and emails, I still had no estimate. At the next appointment, when they were to actually do the work, the plumbers who arrived said they had not been told any details of the project, and after doing their own investigation, informed me that it would not be possible to complete the project at all as I had wanted, and that what I had been told earlier by the first guy was totally wrong (i.e.
the first guy was incompetent)! Sent them away. What a giant waste of time! I recently sent in a request for a quote asking how much it would cost to have a vent line run from one room to the next to join into the vent stack, and in the reply for a quote, Carole gave me a simple suggestion to do it myself, saving me time and money.
She even said I could call them so they could talk me through it. (she also gave me a quote in case I was not comfortable doing it myself) I will certainly call Button Plumbing for my next Plumbing project! Came out to diagnose/clear a shower drain that would back up after about ten minutes.
They showed up in the time window, cleared the problem within an hour. They also answered some questions about a water heater and tweaked a shower that wasn't hot enough for me and took the time to show me what they did which was great.
Honest, professional, and cared about the job they did and the impression they made. This was for their son, Sean, of Button Plumbing East - I didn't see a separate place for them.
He did a great job giving us an estimate. We had other companies over, but he took the most time, went into the crawl space, discussed all our needs, discussed pipe sizes, etc...well done.
The estimate was very competitive - we were adding gas lines to an existing house that had none - all work in the crawl space to 4 different areas. He came out with his nephew to do the job and got done in less time than we expected.
The work was neatly done and we saw the beautiful job of the cleaning hung pipes in the crawl space. The 4 areas he ran the pipes were all clean and well secured.
3 of them with shutoff valves and one was a main for future expansion. He also secured the right size flex hoses for the stove and dryer.
He tested the line, left the pressure gauge on and walked through every outlet describing what was done. We were very happy with the work and choosing Button Plumbing.
We highly recommend them! Michael J. & Kim We had previously used these folks to install two toilets.
Prices are decent and the plumbers were competent. We tried to use them again to rebuild a faucet, but they stood us up two times after promising they would absolutely be there the second time.
Carol apologized and promised again to be there for the third appointment. She made no attempt to offer any type of compensation when I told her we would not be using them.
Poor customer service, and not respectful of people's time. I'd rather pay a little extra for reliability.
Great service...had a shower drain replaced. It ended up being more of a job but they did a great job.
Would highly recommend Button Plumbing, very honest and a great experience. They came out on time and checked out the issue and fixed and replaced it really quick and tested it out afterwards as well.
Prompt and honest service! I've always used Yelp but never felt inclined to sign up and review anything until I called Button. What bastards.
I set up an appointment to re-plumb my entire house. The receptionist said someone will be there between 5-7.
Wow, quite the range but okay. The day of the appointment I leave work early.
I sit on my porch until 7:30. Hmm.
I call Button. The same receptionist answers in the raspy, annoyed tone of Brunhilda the lion tamer getting caught mid-fart.
"What?" "Um, hi, is this Button Plumbing?" "Aak! Yeah. What do you want?" "Um, just making sure.
Uh, a plumber was suppose to be here between 5 and 7." "Aak, oh yeah. His morning appointment got canceled so he took off for the day.
I was supposed to call you but forgot. So, let's see.
When do you want to reschedule? We have Thursday morning free." "Um, excuse me? That's it? No apologies for not calling me and letting me know, for wasting two hours of my life that I will never get back?" "Hey, I had a bad day, what do you want from me? You wanna just call somebody else?" Umm, yeah. That was Button Plumbing and their welcoming receptionist who, despite suffering "bad days," still skillfully manages to juggle her customer service obligations and birthing hedgehogs.
I have a broken pipe. My water is completely shut off.
I called Button on Sunday, July 22, and left a voicemail and sent an email requesting an appointment. Monday morning, I got no responses from Button.
I called again on Monday morning and re-explained my situation. I was given an appointment for over 2 weeks later!!! I asked how I was to wait that long with no water.
I got no reply. I don't understand the high ratings people give Button.
I'm extremely disappointed!!! After going through the reviews we've decided to give this company a shot and I must say it was a bullseye. My garbage disposal was broken and I knew it had to be replaced and I had mentioned that when scheduling a visit.
When they came in they were really professionals and efficient. First they made an assessment of the problem to see if that really had to be replaced, and eventually had to but they were counting on it so they brought a garbage disposal to be replaced.
They did in no time and it was ready to use. We ask them if they could check one of our toilets that wasn't flushing properly and that according to a previous plumbing assessment by another plumber it had to be replaced, what it would cost around $250 plus man work - this was out of question for us.
So this guys checked it and they found the problem and fixed it and they didn't even charged for that. Now we have a full function toilet again and they saved us a bunch of money.
They are now our Plumbing company of preference. Highly recommend it.
I've had Button come out for five separate small projects, including a water heater installation, pipe replacements/improvements, and a replacement of a kitchen sink. Each time they've been professional, timely, effective, and straightforward on options and costs.
However, it was yesterday's service that really stood out. My kitchen faucet stopped running, and since a cold snap has been occurring for about a week, frozen pipes immediately came to mind.
I called up Button hoping to get someone out in the next day or two if possible, to but my relief I had a technician over in about a hour. And thank goodness for that, for he discovered I had some piping in a non-insulated section of the house, and after cutting into the drywall and blasting the pipes with a heat gun, was able to reverse the freezing process and potentially save me from a burst pipe in the next day or two.
Long story short, I not only got the service I needed, but within a very short timeline that potentially saved me from a water damage catastrophe! Button did a fantastic job in replacing the garbage disposal, the technician did a great job replacing, and cleaned up very nicely after. They were also very price competitive!! Less price than competition and great service! I had a great experience with Button Plumbing.
The plumbers were skilled, knowledgeable, and honest. After two horrendous experiences with other plumbing companies, Button's restored my faith that an honest plumbing company exist in the Seattle area.
I had previously received a quote from another company to fix a leaky faucet for $1,500.00. Button plumbing actually said the pipe simply needed tightening and didn't charge me.
I was really impressed. Carol was equally helpful.
She returned my calls promptly and got me scheduled quickly. A big thanks to the Button Plumbing Team.
Highly recommended. I just had the guys at Button plumbing come over.
This time it wasn't the owner, Jim, but his son (Steve?) and another guy. They did an excellent job and without qualms looked at each and every problem I brought to their attention.
They ended up replacing a PRV, clearing out my toilets, fixing a leaky hosebib and some other work as well for a really, really good price. I tried to offer Steve a $50 tip but he refused.
These guys are the best! This is the second time I've hired them. The first time Southwest plumbing quoted me $500 to replace a hosebib.
Jim did it for $60. I called them this morning, and was greeted by a friendly voice, quite the opposite of what some others said.
Perhaps it's someone new? At any rate, no problem there at all. She told me they could be here between 11:00 and 1:00 today.
They arrived at about 11:15, completed two repairs (I had a kitchen sink drain clogged deep in the pipe, and they replaced a toilet kit), and were gone by 11:40. Both men were friendly, and they cleaned up after themselves very thoroughly.
The price was something I felt was quite reasonable, and I would definitely recommend Button Plumbing to my friends. GREAT JOB!! We had a leak in an upstairs shower which had been troubling us for weeks.
I do most of the house repairs myself, however gave up on chasing this one. We called the guys at Button Plumbing and they quickly worked us into their schedule.
Shortly after showing up they had found the problem and were making repairs. They were very professional and explained everything as they worked.
Upon completion they did a great job cleaning up. Not only are these guys "Top Notch" in their trade, their pricing is also very reasonable.
I would highly recommend them for anyone with a plumbing repair need!! I should also comment that the lady I set up the appointment with was very professional. I had read other reviews prior to calling and was ready for someone who was unprofessional, however found just the opposite.
GREAT JOB GUYS!! THESE GUYS ROCK!! Very professional. Found the leak problem I had and fixed it within 1 hour.
They where super professional and knew what they where doing. Highly highly recommend if your in need of a plumber.
Great service good people will use them again for any plumbing problems/needs. Button Plumbing is simply amazing! They're fast, competent, reasonably priced, and nice (if that sort of thing matters to you).
They quickly fixed what a previous plumber only put a "band aid" on. I will truly never hire another plumber.
Matt did the work, but I'm guessing everyone who works there is fantastic. Amazing!!!! Absolutely Amazing!!! Button Plumbing & Heating is top notch.
They were great about scheduling me in for running a gas pipe to my new range. On the day of install, they were on time, and did incredible work routing the line through my basement.
They even made sure that the the amount of pipe above the flange was adequate to move our range around enough to compensate for future cabinets. They cleaned up after the install, checked the appliances and even made sure I knew how to run the range correctly.
Other plumbers should run scared...these guys own customer service!! A++ I had a garbage disposal die on me, the team came out the day after I called and they were awesome!! Quickly found the problem, showed it to me, tested it, then fixed it quickly, tested it, and were all set. They told me if I had any issues to call them.
This is my first time using a plumbing service as I've always rented and I would def use them again and would tell anyone I know who needed a plumber to called Button! The true test of a company is what they do when things go wrong, and Button Plumbing came through great in my case! I had a job that turned out to be unexpectedly more difficult than originally anticipated, and that required the plumbers to make compromises to get it done. However, a couple of days after the job was completed, entirely unprompted by me, they asked to come back and redo some of the work they weren't happy with, all at no extra cost.
Their commitment to quality along with reasonable prices makes them an exceptional company I would not hesitate to recommend. We live in an older house with "interesting" plumbing issues so I have been afraid to call a plumber lately as I was sure we would land one that would charge us an arm and a leg.
WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE (Journeyman) Sean and (Apprentice) Matt from Button Plumbing were! Professional, polite, helpful. Answered all of my questions and ending up fixing the problem I called about and several other "little" issues, too.
I had called just yesterday for a non-emergency appointment and they worked me in already today! Very reasonable billing and totally cleaned up after themselves. I am one happy customer and have found my permanent new go-to plumber.
A+++ Excellent experience and highly recommend their services. The price was fair and competitive.
The customer service, expertise and follow through exceptional and the commitment to complete this very large job (completely replaced all the galvanized pipe under/in the house, all the way to the water main) was truly appreciated. Great crew.
Great owners. Thank you.
Was easy to get an apointment; was on time; finished his work very quickly; took the time to explain how things worked so that I can fix a few things myself next time. Highly recommended.
Jim was great! He was fast and friendly, found and fixed the problem very quickly and was very good with both the kids and dogs which infest our house. I would definitely recommend Button Plumbing & Heating to anyone.
I had a small water leak in my garage, but didn't know what was causing it. I contacted Button Plumbing via e-mail on a Friday and Carole was able to schedule me the following Monday.
Since it wasn't urgent, I didn't expect to get that kind of quick response, but I appreciate the fact that they were able to work me into their schedule so quickly. Matt showed up about a half-hour early.
Not a problem, though, because I was already at home. He quickly diagnosed the problem (leaky shower valve in the shower right above the garage where I saw the leak).
Although he could have bought the part I needed and scheduled a trip back to install it, he showed me exactly what to order and how easy it was to replace it. I really appreciated his honesty and his willingness to save me some money.
He was in/out in less than an hour. I have some rental properties and will definitely be calling Button Plumbing for any future plumbing work.
BTW, they take credit cards, but there is a 3% surcharge, so have cash/check ready if you want to avoid the fee. Most family-run businesses operate the same way, so I was ready, just in case.
They also offer a Senior Discount. Great Family Business!! Definitely Use Them! I have used them twice now and have just scheduled them for a third appointment.
They are thorough and get it right. Both times they've been here I've asked them to take a look at another plumbing issue in the house that I forgot to bring up on the phone.
Both times, even though I know they're busy and tightly scheduled, they took the time and took care of the secondary problem. And after being hemorrhaged to death by a couple of their competitors, I really appreciate how fair their bills are.
I highly recommend Button Plumbing. Very affordable & friendly.
He will be my new go-to plumber! Fixed 2 toilets in under an hour, amazing. They have come out twice to the house and have done a wonderful job.
Both times very professional, and communicated everything they were doing and what was going on. Fixed everything quickly and did a wonderful job.
I can't say enough good things about them. Highly recommend Button Plumbing.
Honest, fair pricing and got the job done right! When scheduling the appointment, I had to leave a message, but received a call back fairly quickly. I was able to even get an idea of what to expect on pricing beforehand which I greatly appreciated.
Will definitely recommend to friends and will use again for my next plumbing needs.'''.
