Review and analyze now for company Clearwater Leak Detection and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''Simon was a pleasure to work with. He had on time, great communicator, gave recommendations and imparted knowledge from his decades of being a plumber.
The area he marked was exactly where the leak was found. He has a great personality and his demeanor immediately put me to ease as I knew I was in great hands.
Multiple other plumbers recommended him for finding the leak and I'm glad I listened to them. If you suspect a leak and you've read your meter to confirm, your next call needs to be to Simon.
I hope I never have another leak but if I do, I know Simon is the only plumber I'm calling first and not wasting time with others. Our water company came to us and let us know that we had a really bad leak somewhere (water meter was running ~1 cubic foot per minute).
After a quick check inside with nothing obvious, I called around and was pointed to two options, American Leak Detection and Clearwater Leak Detection. I called both but American never returned my call.
Simon from Clearwater chatted with me and said he could come by the next day. He arrived the next afternoon and after I showed him where the meter and the water shutoff were he got to work.
He used two different techniques to help locate the source of the leak, both of them leading to the same area in our easement. He marked the area clearly, showed me where it was, and recommended next steps for me to take.
He even helped me with a separate question for something inside the house which he had a special infrared tool for. Simon was very transparent about his pricing and gave me some leeway when I underestimated the distance from the house to the water meter.
He's very knowledgeable and identified the issue quickly. He shared his contact information for plumbers who could help repair the leak but was transparent in letting me know that their schedules were full for a few more days, and to look around for a sooner option.
Overall we were very happy with Simon's services and would definitely go back to him in the (hopefully distant) future. I called Simon at Clearwater Leak Detection after being robbed for $108 by Appollo Plumbing who did nothing but try sell service contracts and wanted $1200 for Leak Detection.
Clearwater answered my call and asked lots of questions and told me the exact price (half of what Appollo wanted) over the phone. He was busy but fit me in 2 days later.
Arrived on time and went to work. Explained everything to me.
Within an hour, he located my two leaks. He was accurate and the main leak was right under where he flagged it.
I wouldn't use anyone else. Simon came out to my home precisely on time, despite the rain, and helped me determine the potential causes of my water leak.
It was a tiny leak, and Simon advised us that detecting the issue would take hours and not be worth it. I was impressed that Simon put my interests above his own when advising me on the issue.
I highly recommend Clearwater Leak Detection. We are new homeowners and still figuring out the quirks of our house.
Everything weird and new is scary and daunting and we automatically fear the worst, so when our neighbors came to our door late at night a few days ago telling us there's water gushing from between the cracks in our driveway we started to panic. We tested everything to see if our water pressure was impacted (it wasn't), turned off our main water to see if that helped ease the flow of the fusing water (it didn't), and called a plumber the next day.
They said while they could fix a broken pipe, they weren't the right people to find a broken pipe and referred us over to Clearwater Leak Detection. We called and left a message in the late afternoon on Monday and heard back from Simon Wednesday morning.
He was able to squeeze us in the same day, provided us with a verbal quote, and worked with us on a time that was mutually agreeable (my partner and I both had meetings we couldn't miss or reschedule... when it rains it pours, am I right?) Simon provided great communication throughout the day to gain additional context for our issue and arrived on time.
We were greeted by a smile and a handshake. He immediately spotted where the water was still running, as by this point it was down to a notable trickle.
He helped us locate where our water meter and steer shut off were, tested our water pressure and checked our neighbors meter as well to see if it was perhaps coming from their side. All turned out well, and it was determined that it was ground water running under our driveway.
This was the news we were hoping for as we're located on a hill and haven't noticed this issue before when it was dry. Simon was quick and efficient, gave us some suggestions on possible solutions but was honest and gave us realistic likely outcomes (i.e.
we can spend a bunch of money to maybe reduce/eliminate the issue but it probably won't work). While we still have some thinking to do on next steps, we at least have the piece of mind that our pipes are still in tact and our water usage isn't impacted at all.
Massive thanks to Simon for the quick reassurance and fitting us into his schedule. 10/10 for sure.
While we hope to never need these services again, we know who our first call will be if we do. In August 2024, I was notified by my water district that I may have a water leak.
I did the checks and sure enough it looked like it was in the water line from the meter box to the house. I located several businesses that do leak detection and requested service on-line.
I did not hear back from any of them. I tried a second time and Simon, owner of Clearwater, responded the same day.
He came to my house, and I showed him the meter box and he said it must be a small leak by how slow it was moving. The meter box is about 130 feet from the house.
He did his testing and located the leak about 5 feet from the house. He said it would probably be copper pipe and a small leak.
He recommended a nearby plumbing company, Trident in Monroe, and I called them and everything Simon said came to be true. Simon was great to work with, professional, very easy to communicate with and his recommendation was excellent.
His price was reasonable, and I would not hesitate to recommend or use his services again. I had a leak in an external water line on my property and needed to find a good leak detection company.
After doing a general internet search, and then reading highly positive yelp reviews, I hired Simon from Clearwater Leak Detection. I would HIGHLY recommend Clearwater Leak Detection for the following reasons: 1.
SCHEDULE: Simon called me back quickly when I first reach out to discuss my leak. He was on time for both the leak detection and leak fix, which I sincerely appreciated.
2. COST: Even though I had far more than 200 feet of water line, he did not double his price for the leak detection (which he certainly could have).
As a person on a limited income, this was truly helpful to my finances. 3.
EXPERTISE: In my discussion with Simon, it was clear he has deep knowledge of his craft and he was communicative in helping to explain where the lines traverse, and where he believes the leak was. 4.
LEAK FIX: He had to dig about 2.5 feet down around the water hydrant and when he found the leak, he had me come out and view the issue. He filled in the whole with additional drainage gravel, installed a new hydrant, including a wood block for stability (that should have been there in the first place) and then put back the pieces of ground he cut out such that you could hardly tell any work had been done - very impressive! Simon is a kind and personal professional and I would HIGHLY recommend hiring him for his superior knowledge, integrity, and professionalism.
I would not hesitate to hire him again should the need arise. His contact information is: Phone: 206-686-9300, Website: clearwaterleakdetection.com.
Writing to say that Simon at CLD was amazing to work with. He was completely professional and extremely polite.
He took the time on the phone to diagnose possible issues, came out and met with us and isolated the problem area and came back to do an incredible job fixing the leak. Highly recommend Clearwater Leak Detection to anyone.
You will be very happy with them. -Todd The water company let me know I had a leak but my plumber could not find it.
Clearwater was able to come out quickly! He checked everything and found the leak was under the foundation under my washing machine. He marked everything so the people fixing it could find the leak.
He gave me an idea what it should cost to fix which was great as I got one estimate that was really high so I knew to keep looking. I was also able to text and ask more questions and he was awesome about responding.
I would highly recommend them! We got a notice from utility and realized that we have a leak but could find it. We contacted Simon and he showed up the second day.
He demonstrated solid expertise in finding the leak, and explained to us with patience and clarity. He's also kinda humorous and made us less anxious about the situation.
Hopefully we will never need to hire him again but will definitely recommend if any friends are in the same situation. No rating, actually.
I sent out an email requesting a quote for the replacement of our water mainline, but never rec'd a reply. To be fair, they may never have rec'd my email, but every other company I sent the same email to responded in a timely manner.
Before Simon even came on-site, he talked through my leak scenario and presented some first steps to take. After following his advice, I then made an appointment for Simon to come out.
Simon was professional, and his experience is evident. He detected my leak and kept me informed along the way.
I definitely recommend contacting Clearwater Leak Detection first. I did not, and I learned a lesson...but glad I finally connected with Simon.
1. Quality work 2.
Fair price 3. Showed up when he said he would 4.
Did what he said he would do Had a leak in my water pipe coming from street to my house. He detected the leak underground and had me good to go by the next day.
No B.S., clear and to the point. He is now my go to leak detection guy.
Thanks Simon ! Simon was outstanding. We have complicated plumbing here in a turn of the century house.
He solved the puzzle and found the leak that was causing big problems with our water bill. He explained what he was doing, why and how.
He is very professional and courteous. I would recommend him without exception.
You will not be disappointed. I had a leak somewhere between the meter and my house so I called Clearwater to find it.
He came out quickly, found the leak in a little under two hours, marked everything off, and gave me a referral to a plumber who could fix it, and his price was fair. The news was bad (I needed a whole new line put in) but that's not his fault! Found out about a wet spot in a guest room today, did a search here on yelp and found this company at the top of the list with good reviews.
So I decided to call, and since I was calling around 8:30pm, I was expecting to leave a voicemail message...but Simon (the owner) answers the phone! Wasn't expecting that! haha! Though it was around dinner when I called, Simon took the time to address my concerns, provided his recommendation and price quote. Going to have a plumber take a look first, but if it turns out that I'll need his service, I'm definitely giving him my business! I had a leak somewhere along a 200 foot line from the meter to the house.
Clearwater came out and spent about 30 minutes walking up the line marking its path. Eventually they drew a 4 foot square box and a tot in the middle.
He said 'its should be about one foot from the center'. Couldn't have been more accurate.
I dug the whole myself, about four feet wide and four feet deep and found the break in the line. It was exactly on center of the leak detection box.
Couldn't have been happier not to spend days digging holes and instead dug just in the correct spot. The plumber came out and only charged me $350 to cut and repair the pipe.
(other plumbers wanted 3k to fix or 10k to replace the water line) Using Clearwater to locate the break saved me thousands of dollars. I called Clearwater recently and Simon ended up saving me thousands of dollars by correctly surmising that some very light, trickle-level flow that I had was not a leak but a different problem entirely.
Simon has expert-level knowledge on leaks and is very familiar with the intricacies of the Seattle water system; moreover he is very personable and patient in explaining the details of the detection process. I'd recommend his services to anyone.
City left a message on my door about a possible water leak. After trying unsuccesfully to find the leak, I looked for a plumber here on Yelp and decided to call a company called "Good Plumber" and recommended Simon for the leak detection.
Spoke with Simon and the next day he was here at my house. He was on time, very nice and would fill you in on what he's doing while checking for the leak.
He was done in less than 2 hours. The price was $375, which was reasonable, for a minimum of 2 hours.
He was able to find the leak and I ended up calling Good Plumber back who also did a very good job! I will leave them a separate 5-star review as well. I hope to not have any water leak issues again in the future.
But if ever I do, I will definitely call Simon again! Great service! Knowledgeable and helpful! Very friendly and on time!! Hopefully I do not have to call again but if I do I will definitely call them! Called to see if they could come out and do backflow testing and they said they are too busy and not accepting new customers. So I guess they are 5 star for existing customers only.
1 star and will never call them again My water company left a notice on my door that I may possibly have a water leak. Since my bill increased several hundred dollars per month, it was a no brainer.
I had a plumber out to try to fix it, but since plumbers do not have the proper equipment to find leaks, it was not much help. I called Clearwater spoke with Simon who knows his stuff.
He came out detected and fixed my outdoor leaks which there were more then one. Having a massive water leak is no fun at all, but unfortunately they do not go away on their own and through time only get worse as does the monthly water bills.
Clearwater is not cheap due to the very expensive equipment but that same equipment can pinpoint where the leaks are so they can then be addressed. Simon the owner is very professional and gets the job done.
He takes pride in his work and I trust him to be fair and honest. If you have a big or small water leak, give him a call.
You won't regret it! Great service. Came faster than any other would and was priced near or lower than a few other quotes.
Also recommended some good plumbers for the job. This company was awesome, Simon could not have done a better job! He was very thorough, knowledgeable and very professional with all the right electronic equipment with him.
We had a difficult time with a very bad leak trying to find it. When we called Simon he was quick to get out here and discovered the leak in no time.
I have no doubt we will call him in the future if another leak happens. His rates were also very reasonable and it was a pleasure doing business with him.
His rates were also very reasonable and it was a pleasure doing business with him. Thank you, from Russ and Kay Very happy with Clearwater Leak Detection company service.
We had a main waterline leak on Friday afternoon, flooding the neighborhood. When I called the company, Simon, the owner agreed to come out to identify the leak on Saturday morning.
No other company in the area was willing to do the job over the weekend. Simon was prompt, professional and found the issue within an hour.
He also recommended most cost effective option to fix the leak. Thank you for a great service and will recommend you!!! We live off a private street and have a 150 foot waterline that runs through the neighbor's yard, under the private concrete roadway, under a large pine tree and under our own concrete driveway.
We had two separate leaks in this line in 2013, one in May and two in September. Other than a significant increase in our water bill, we had no physical indication of where the leaks were.
There's no way we could have found these on our own! My neighbor had used Clearwater Leak Detection a few years ago for his own water leak and was pleased with their work. I called Clearwater and spoke with Simon Calis.
He came out and "detected" where the leaks were and we hired him to also do the repairs, which were significant work as one was located under the pine tree (it figures!) and one was in the middle of the neighbor's vegetable garden. It also turns out our waterline is buried 3 to 4 feet underground.
I was very curious about leak detection and how he could possibly find a leak on a waterline like ours. Simon was patient and thorough in showing and explaining to me what he was going to do and didn't mind if I observed his work and asked questions.
He showed me how to check the meter and look for indication of leaks should I have one in the future, which was really important for piece of mind. I was impressed with Simon's knowledge, professionalism and integrity.
He came to the job with all of the equipment he needed, had quick access to the large water/digging truck we needed on one of the repairs, and charged a reasonable price for his services. Most importantly, he came out when he said he would and I didn't have to call/chase him around to get the work done.
If you have a waterleak, don't hesitate to call Clearwater Leak Detection. After receiving a water bill over $500 for my rental house, I had my son call Clearwater Leak Detection to locate the leak.
Simon gave us the time he would be out, and was at the residence as stated. He explained the process he would use to locate the leak and what his charges were.
He promptly went to work and after a few hours he located the leak in the main water line. He stated he could fix it and gave me a price that was reasonable.
He set a time to do the repair and again arrived as state with all the equipment needed to do the job. After digging a very large, deep hole, he located the leaking line exactly where he stated it was and replaced the leaking section of the line, that had been repaired 3 times before with hose clamps, with a new section of water line with brass fittings.
He was at all times Friendly, Courteous, Knowledgeable and Professional in his work. I would not hesitate to call Simon again or recommend him to anyone that would need his services.
I had a water leak somewhere in or outside my home. I called Simon to get some information about his work, the costs, and whether it seemed I needed a water leak detection service or I should just call a plumber.
Simon was really helpful. He explained everything in detail, answered my questions, although he had just come off a long day at work.
He spent a half hour on the phone with me, even walking me through troubleshooting my hot water valve, even though he knew I might not need him. As it turned out, the water company thinks the leak is so small it's not worth spending money on, so I won't need his services.
But I would definitely call him again if I do at some point! I will definitely use Clearwater Leak Detection for any future needs. The staff is courteous, knowledgable and professional.
I can not say enough positive things about them. I highly recommend them.
After reading consistently 5 star reviews (on Angie's list) for Clearwater Leak Detection and Simon (the owner) I called him. I like that he is the owner, and also does the work (that way the expertise is assured) He was on time, very pleasant to work with, highly skilled and experienced and really knows his stuff.
He has multiple methods to check for leaks. He determined I do not have a main line leak (from the meter) via checking psi; using listening device; and checking the meter.
He tracked the supply lines and was truly interesting in finding what is going on. He did determine one clear leak source and a solution.
Exceptionally talented and honest. You can trust this guy.
"the real thing" We can't say enough good things about Simon and his crew. We had an underground water leak in our ancient pipes for years, but no one could ever find the cause.
Simon did a full investigation, marked the underground pipes from the street to all the different locations around our 1.5 acres, even found the location of a well that we'd heard about but could never locate. The job was done quickly and really well, the crew was very nice to work with, and they even gave us a discount.
Two years later, our lowered water bills have more than paid for the cost of the work they did. Once again Simon did an excellent job fom my family.
He haas been able to locate breaks in our main water line three times and was always with in 12 inches of the leak. This time when we had another leak, I had him replace the line from the meter to the house.
this turned out to be no easy task. He bored underneath my new drive way, gad to go thru massive tree roots and several large boulders but got the job done in a professional manor.
This is the only person I will recommend for any kind of leak detection job. He and his assistant are true professionals We had an underground leak between the meter and our house.
Simon came out promptly and flagged the leak. He had all the right equipment to do so.
I dug up the section he marked the next day. I found the leak 3.5 feet down and spliced it.
Price was reasonable and he was right on the money as to where the leak was. For a leak detection service, I don't know how you do better than that.
Our water bill jumped from $60/mo to $560/mo! We had a leak. I called our water company and they gave me a few tips: Dye in the toilet tanks, turn off the main water to the house and see if the meter keeps running, etc.
I soon figured out that I needed professional help. After researching several companies, I called Clearwater.
Simon, the owner, answered my call and managed to come out the next day. He is a one man shop and very experienced.
He has all the latest tools and equipment (German listening probes, Helium pressure equipment, infrared, etc. ) He found the leak in our outside pipes in under two hours (his minimum).
I contracted him initially because he advertised that he could fix the problem as well as locate the leak (unlike most other leak detection companies). He found the leak under a concrete walkway but wouldn't be able to get to the repair for another two weeks, so we contacted another contractor.
That being said, he was very professional, highly skilled, and very reasonable. I would recommend him for leak detection to anyone in the Seattle area.
As a business owner in Sumner we found a leak in our commercial building on a Tuesday...with recommendations from McLendons and the City of Sumner we contacted Clearwater Leak Detection for a solution. They came and told us we had a leak..........we already knew that but had NO solution to get it fixed or anyone to do it!!! Then sent a bill for $340..........to tell us that we had a leak!!! We had an underground water leak, with water gushing out from our neighbor's yard on New Year's Day 2016.
I called around but just hit answering machines and answering services with no call back till after the long weekend. When I called Clearwater, I got Simon on his mobile, he was working another job.
He was kind enough to agree to come over and detect our leak problem late in the day on Jan 1. Our water had already been shut off because it was hitting the road and forming a hazardous sheet of ice.
It took a while to detect due to the hilly terrain and deeply buried pipe on my property, but Simon double checked to make sure he had the spot and when the plumbers came the next day, they found the leak exactly where Simon marked the spot. I believe his charges were very reasonable based on what we heard from plumbers we had called for quotes earlier.
5 Stars for responsiveness and a very professional job.'''.
