He went over all the possibilities and I asked him well what are we looking at worst-case scenario and he gave me a number which wasn't as bad as I thought. Anyway, he returned right away with his camera the next day and called me with a solution.

It ended up being about half of his worst case scenario and they did a fantastic job. They installed a new cleanout which needed to be done behind my washer and dryer under my stairs, but they got it done and they did a great job.

I also got a nice education as he showed me the footage as the camera traveled all the way to the street showing me possible damage and obstructions along the way after he got it all cleared. The main drain is going under this monolithic concrete stairs I have in front of my split level, but he managed to avoid that and got the job done.

After he and Greg left, you wouldn't even know they were here. They left the place just like they found it.

I typically try hard to get at least 3 estimates for any and all services. It was quite a task trying to get 3 estimates for this plumbing job, so annoying.

I ultimately made contact with Waterways through Home Advisor which is annoying in itself (Home Advisor) totally new story. I had seen Waterways Plumbing when I was doing my Google search but thought they were too far out when there were a lot of closer located plumbers.

I did not meet Mike or Greg in person. From the beginning I took notice, they answered in complete sentences and it appeared to be the plumbers themselves with whom I was communicating with.

A secretary did not do the ole, "Call us to discuss" bit. When I did write to them they answered right away, of course it was the weekend, Seafair weekend no-less.

We communicated mostly by email which I prefer, love that paper trail. I liked it that the 2 owners appeared to be the ones communicating with me, which also gave me a lot of confidence in what they were saying.

One thing that they would not do was go out to the house without someone being there. A couple of plumbing companies said that they would.

I actually kinda get it on a couple of different levels. Eh...

They did go out to do the estimate on Monday, no fee, (I don't do fees unless it is below $30, and they will apply it to the fix if I have them do the repair). I decided that I would go with them by Mon evening, 80% based on the quote (Money talks).

Waterways quote was lower than the other quotes-I am debating to say by how much hmm perhaps what John S. review says about his quote.

I also went with them (20%) based on how they do business meaning they actually gave me a couple of firm quotes in writing. Apollo gave quotes over the phone but also there was a $1000 threshold meaning that the low end of the quote could go up 1K.

I guess I am thinking why would you do that what is the incentive not to go up? Just give me a couple firm quotes. SW Plumbing wanted $500+ to see what was wrong and no quotes they also had to have someone on site, they did go out to the property.

On Monday eve we confirmed that Waterways was the one that was going to do the repair, they told me they couldn't go until Friday due to other commitments. The renters I think, had already noticed the water pooling in the lawn a week before, but I figured if they weren't in a hurry, neither was I.

On Friday morn as scheduled, Waterways called me to tell me the situation and what they found, what they advise... what could happen in the future etc., they did what I asked them to do.

They called me again when they were done to get payment, they sent me a written receipt and went on to explain the type of pipes I have and what could happen in the future. I was extremely happy with the process from end to end, currently we are 6 days into it.

But they assured me that it is not a big undertaking to open the drywall to replace the valve, and explained how they will do it with a quote that I feel reasonable. I gave them the go-ahead, and they suggested to open the drywall right then to make sure their assessment is correct and to make sure that they will get all the tools they need for the job.

So the drywall was opened, and there was no surprises. They came in the next day as scheduled and did the job in about one hour.

The sink that came with our house was only 6" deep, so we figured why not kill two birds with one stone. This presented a problem with the existing pipes, but Mike and Greg figured out a way for us to get a deeper sink, as opposed to the first plumber that came out, who wanted to cut into the dining room drywall (we would have to repair the wall).

While we were kicking around what we should do, we decided we wanted an undermount sink (which required new counters). We didn't know if we had enough room underneath, so back come Mike and Greg to double check.

They confirmed everything and gave us the green light. It wasn't until five months later that we had all the work done in our kitchen, and they showed up ON TIME (again) and performed the work flawlessly.

One month later, we discovered water gushing out of the air valve whenever we ran the dishwasher, so the boys came back out *again* to check it out. They triple checked EVERYTHING (and replaced one of the tubes, just to be sure).

Paul provided the estimate, and broke the estimate up into two potential jobs--one crawl space drainage system with sump pump and interior trenches and one a job that I might do in the future that involves diverting down spout water. I appreciated that Paul conducted a thorough review of the problems in my crawl space and walked around the property to get a full understanding of the issues that were causing standing water in my crawl space.

It is a 1958 house which had a lot of standing water in the crawl due to an existing DIY sump pump that was not up to code and leaked. Paul's estimate also included a drawing of the system which helped me get a better sense of the scale of the repairs.

The crew did a great job and took 3 days for the extensive work. The crew even fixed an issue that was caused by a totally different worker without me bringing it up--they repaired the screen on the vent to prevent animals from getting into the crawl space.

Called Allied, who quickly inspected the problem, offered a number of options and gave me an estimate for my choice of options. Work crew showed up as scheduled, were very polite, explained what they were doing, and asked questions as necessary.

They were quick and efficient plus re-landscaped and cleaned up yard to better condition than when they started. They demonstrated and tested the system to show me it was working and asked if I had any questions.

Paul and Allied Waterproofing gave me a competitive bid to put in a perimeter drainage system which allowed water to go around the basement, not through it. The work was quick and efficient and the system worked flawlessly for years.

You get a spectrum of bids of course, ranging from questionably cheap and vague to extremely high cost & large scale solutions for worst case scenarios depending on the perspective of the estimator. Allied came through with a few options for each problem I had, and carried great quiet confidence they knew how to solve it.

They gave very fair rates for the work, were extremely quick and efficient while on project, and attentive to anything I brought up. These guys have done 3 projects for us now, and I couldn't be happier with the results.

We did exterior & interior french drains to stop water coming over the foundation line AND up from the ground floor level. They also added another drain in the back corner of our yard which was a year round mud pit.

I'm not a tax lawyer so I don't know how all this shakes out. Tyler did say that they, Evergreen Hydronics and Mechanical in Federal Way, do forward the sales tax paid by customers.

Again, I would like to emphasize that Tyler seemed genuinely upset and wanted to make things right. I told him my concerns which are noted below in my original review.

I have removed parts that are no longer pertinent. * Some pertinent information that people may want to know: $2400+ tax to swap out an 18" water heater.

Except for the expansion tank, parts and labor are not separated out. Total time for two guys labor was 1hr and 15 minutes.

Install crew showed up in an unmarked panel truck and their appearance was opposite of professional. Didn't exactly give me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

Their install, however seemed just fine. And they were fast, maybe too fast.

The crew dropped a couple of washers which I found later that were meant for the straps. They also left the new heater's information packet attached to the heater and in a barely accessible location between the heater and the wall.

I retrieved it with some difficulty using a thin bladed kitchen knife. Make sure you get this from them.

They also forgot to glue one of the joints of overflow pvc pipe that leads to the outside (the crew seemed to be in a hurry). I wish all plumbing-related repairs were as easy as it was with Two Brothers.

Tyler was extremely communicative and transparent about the exact costs required to replace my water heater and even educated me on the pros and cons of converting to a tankless system so that I could make an informed decision. In terms of costs, they charged me exactly what they said they would, which was much less than the rest of the quotes I received.

My installation even had a few additional, minor hiccups which most companies would up-charge me on, but Tyler and Chris kept the quote the same. They told me when they'd arrive, then called and texted me the morning of to confirm when they'd be there, and were there on time.

And the total install took less than an hour. I had a lot of questions and Chris walked me through his response to each, including things like water filters, water pressure and even proper usage of hot water (hint: try not to drink hot water from the faucet).

To sum it up: Two Brothers had the lowest price, great communication, and a very quick install. They also installed an American made water heater for that price, which is a huge bonus.

If you need a service they provide, look no further! Two Brothers replaced a water heater 3 years ago to fix an improper installation from another company just a few years earlier.

Quick, effective and reasonable. Provided a better solution than what was previously installed.

Fast forward to today and they responded to a service call to check the venting as there was moisture on the walls where it was installed. They discovered the venting had been bumped (the water heater is installed in a storage area) and promptly fixed the situation.

What I'd like to highlight is the sense of ownership that they have in their service / product, that is hard to come by these days. Recently, there was an electrical smell coming from the utility closet in the house that had the water tank.

I was able to identify the smell (and smoke) coming from the water tank, and sent an email with detailed pictures and a video, hoping that Two Brothers might be able to come by sooner than later to take a look and hopefully resolve. Sent an email at midnight, got a phone call from Chris at 8am that they would be able to come by midday.

Came by around 11:15am, and was able to help replace a corroded part in the tank and help fix some of our (old) wiring. On top of this, was not charged for any repair which was a pleasant surprise.

Incredibly thankful for the quickness and responsiveness these brothers have. As of this review, still monitoring to see if the problem comes back during the week as Chris mentioned to me, but I have every confidence that if it does, Two Brothers will be able to quickly help me and advise me on what I should do next! I decided to replace my water heater before anything happened to warrant an immediate replacement.

I called around to get prices, since it had been 10 years since I had to do this. Tyler was my first call, and he was very informative, and when he quoted the price, I couldn't believe it! I told him I was going to call around, and then I would decide.

I did that, and found out the potties of water heaters had, indeed, doubled! After a few days, I called Tyler back and scheduled the install. I chose his company because of his knowledge, his commitment, and the small company philosophy.

If you need a water heater, I recommend Two Brothers! I asked Tyler to help replacing my thermal expansion tank. Tyler was very responsive and we discussed everything over the phone and scheduled an appointment.

During the visit, they gave me a call before hand. After they arrived, his people were very friendly and attentive.

They explained everything clearly for me before and during the whole appointment. It took them about 30 minutes to replace it.

The only thing I wish they would do is to take off shoes or have a shoe overing for their shoes since I'm Asian and I don't wear shoes in the house. In short, I'd contact them again for any plumbing problem.

Strongly recommend you look elsewhere based on our experience. First, and most ridiculous, this company raised their quoted price by hundreds of dollars, two minutes before arriving to install a water heater.

The reason given was literally: "Oh, that quote was really only for *last* weekend." Second, the removal and installation soaked our utility room, to the point that the water traveled up the drywall about six inches. The technician said nothing about a spill, no apology, and we found and had to remedy this on our own.

Third, the water heater literally did not work when the technician left. Told that we should wait an hour for the tank to heat, we called 90 minutes later when the water was still cold.

Both the person on the phone and the technician tried to tell us that we were too late to have them come back, and that we would have to wait until the next day with no hot water. The *only* reason there is an additional star on this review is that they eventually did come back the same evening to fix whatever the mistake was.

Final straw. It's 2 years later.

We just had a real plumber work on another thing in our home. He looked at the water heater, called out four separate issues on the install that need to be fixed.

One, where the wrong type of fitting was used to attach the in-flowing water, is apparently so bad that it's actively shortening the life of the water heater. The quote to fix what was done wrong here was $500.

Our hot water heater failed as a result of a lot of water seeping onto it from a burst hose in the kitchen sink located on the floor above our garage where the hot water heater is located (the burst hose is yet another story). The office was open when I called at 7:00 am and arranged to have Chris come out that day.

He did a great job installing a new hot water heater, which required some ingenuity given the location of the hot water heater in a closet in our garage next to the furnace. I am very pleased.

I have a complex setup in which the water heater also powers the heating system for my home. The type of tank I had is no longer being made so when I needed to replace my old tank last year, Two Brothers did a great job replacing the tank and also was able to make a conversion on my system to work with standard tanks.

I also needed further work done recently to replace a faulty valve and they were able to perform the service within a day. We needed to replace our aging water heater and called a couple of businesses to obtain quotes.

Two Brothers was by far the most responsive and thorough. They described various options and went into detail about the relative advantages and disadvantages of each choice.

They were able to schedule us within 4 days of calling and the replacement process took less than an hour and the installers were on time and courteous. Right after the install, we had a knock that appeared in our system. They came out, did their best to fix the issue but unfortunately, the knock kept happening.

After realizing that we need to replace it, I called Renee back (of all places) because she was super helpful during the first call. I was told to take 3 pictures and send to Chris, he responded shortly and we got to talk right away even though it was late on a Friday afternoon.

Needed a new water heater with radiant heat. The first few places I called had very high quotes, which prompted me to do some research to get a better understanding of what type of heater I needed and what they cost.

It became obvious the quotes I got earlier tried to upsell us on expensive units we didn't need or just quoted crazy high numbers for a standard replacement. After getting a few more reasonable quotes I ended up going with Two Brothers because 1) They confirmed my findings and clarified which heater I needed to work with radiant heat, 2) they had the best quote for a quality brand name replacement, and 3) They had great reviews and were even recommended by other small business that didn't do radian heat.

Replacing an existing (working) water heater is not a glorious task. There is no pretty appliance you get to play with or show off...well you could but who is interested in looking at a water heater? You don't really get much out of it other than the peace of mind knowing that it's done before it fails.

So this task was one that just needed to be done and as painless as possible. I reached out to a few companies here on Yelp requesting quotes - my initial request was for a tankless electric water heater.

I figured if I'm doing it let's just be energy efficient and get more hot water out of it too. Tyler with Two Brothers quickly educated me to the fact that not only is an electric tankless not cost efficient due to necessary electrical panel upgrades, but that it's the opposite of energy efficient as it requires MORE electricity to heat the water.

Mind blown. I asked him to quote me for a new tank to replace my existing and then fact checked him, because that's the kind of person I am, and he's right.

Washington Energy Services actually requests people DO NOT buy tankless electric heaters. Good to know.

Moving on... I got the quote via a call and the subsequent email.

All my communications through Tyler were super quick and efficient. I am a busy person and I loved how this continued to flow and there was no time where I was wondering when I was going to hear back.

I had no qualms with the quote and so I indicated I'd like to schedule. Lucky for me there was an opening that Sunday.

Tyler gave me a two hour window and let me know he would give me a 30 minute heads-up call before showing up - which is immensely better than Comcast, painters, or bed deliveries. Sunday came, I cleared the path to the location, got the 30 minute head-up and Chris showed up with my new equipment.

He needed only to be pointed in the direction of the tank and panel and then shown where the restroom was. After that I was happily working on my laptop and my family going about their business completely undisturbed until it was done a short time later.

A quick run of the water to get the air out of the lines and an hour to let the water get hot before using it and we were all set. And just as Tyler said, we noticed that there is more hot water readily available to use than we had with the old unit - which likely had sediment built up at the bottom.

(Tyler did indicate if I found this not to be enough I could have them back out to turn up the heat and install a mixing valve...so far no need for that yet.) Honestly I don't know how it could have been better. Both Chris and Tyler were super professional and helpful, HONEST and overall just great to work with.

I needed a new PEX/Copper line ran to my house to replace an old galvanized line that was not providing enough volume to my older craftsman home. I had Andy out for the initial walk through, he took his time to look at each component of the job and was very knowledgeable and easy to communicate with and laid out a very straightforward and detailed plan.

Although their bid was the higher of a few I had received, after meeting with Andy and communicating with Traci their office manager I felt like they would do the best job. And I am happy to say they were amazing to work with and worth the extra cost, upon arrival Ryan, their foreman was personable, informative and very clear on the process and plan for the installation.

And after looking at the house and line actually recommended a cheaper materials option than the one originally planned and assured me I would be happy with the end product. Ryan also took the time to add on an updated shutoff at the meter which he did not have to do and went above and beyond my expectation and now allows us to shutoff our water at the meter with out a special tool for our old spike setup from the city. Ryan also took the time to let me take pictures and videos of the trenchless tools as well as explain each facet of the operation and exactly why and what they were doing at each stage of the process.

The majority of the work was done in a day and when completed I couldn't be happier with the final product and what a big difference it has made for our water volume needs. Traci, their office manager was great to work with and handles all billing and scheduling as well.

Outdoor leak & high water bill. 1st visit, based on where could see water, advised me to contact city (even gave me the phone # to call), as might leak on their side and no cost to me.

After city confirmed on my property, the team came back. Dug up and fixed the leak, cleaned up everything and called city for me to get inspection.

They worked fast, less than 45 minutes total, all done in one day. Thanks! In September we did not realize we had an underground leak on our property.

After returning from vacation we found our water cut off (neighbor is a plumber an discovered the leak). A few weeks later, we received a water bill for $4,000 and a pamphlet with information about checking for a leak.

Apparently, the water had been leaking for weeks. We decided to obtain three bids, and Akers came out and conducted a thorough inspection.

Andy seemed truly knowledgeable and the pricing seemed fair compared to other bids. We were not sure we would be staying in the home and decided to repair the leak instead of replacing the entire pipeline, as the investment would have been well over $13,000.

A few months later, another leak. We called Akers again and they had the initial bid and came out a few days later to begin the work.

They set up a temporary pipe connected to our home, so we had access to water. This was critical given we were in the middle of a pandemic and could not easily pick up and go to a hotel.

They began the work the same day. A total of two days to install a water line that was over 200 ft.

long. They were also able to work with the City of Seattle to get the work inspected.

This is important because the last plumber we used (Mike's Plumbing) to repair the first leak failed to tell us the city would need to inspect their repair in order to request a rebate for the $4,000 bill. We actually paid them twice, to come back out and expose the repair for the city to inspect it.

This was something Andy advised during his initial visit. A few things to note.

* Traci was quick to response and very communicative during the process * The bid was fair and in the middle compare to some of the other service vendors * The work was completed quicker than expected and the final invoice reflected the reduction in time and labor * We paid by check to avoid the processing fee that accompanies the use of credit card * Everything was cleaned up and put back in place, you would never have known they were there I would recommend Akers a 100%. They weren't trying to price gauge, experienced in underground outdoor plumbing.

I didn't get the same crappy feeling I would get with many of the contractors in the Seattle areas, looking to make a buck without providing quality or value because demand is high given the market. We had a water line leak in the front of our rental house.

Of course it was the weekend. No one else could come out for three or four days, meaning I would have to find alternative accommodations for our renters for that time so I could shut off the water.

Akers came the next morning and fixed everything within a couple of hours. They used high-quality materials, minimally invasive technique, and were very pleasant to interact with.

Circumstances prevented trenchless first 100' - very narrow trench dug to depth when done and grass flipped back invasion was invisible! Absolutely no hesitation pushing the Akers team name forward! These people are the best in the business. After getting jacked around by a company that couldn't spell "plumber' I found Ackers.

The idiotic proposal that the first company submitted included major changes in the present site that would have taken days to do. Ackers arrived on time and left at the end of the day after installing a new water line for the house for a reasonable price and great service.

Met with Andy this morning, and since my son had no water due to his main line leaking, they put him first on the list...they were replacing his water line within 2 hrs of our meeting. I cannot say enough good things about this company.

Like so many other reviewers here on Yelp, I called Akers because I knew I had a leak in my water main line (perhaps it was the $1600 water bill I got from Seattle utilities). Actually, Akers was referred to me from another plumber that I had called first who told me they didn't do my kind of job.

Am I ever glad I was referred to Akers. As a Seattle transplant, I am constantly disappointed with the nonchalant attitude with which businesses treat customers.

However, Akers was responsive, attentive, reasonably priced, and overall I was delighted with my experience with them. Akers was very responsive as they recognized I was living without running water until it was repaired.

I had shut off our water at the city meter (near the street) on Sunday. I called Akers early on Monday morning and Traci was able to have Andy stop by later that day.

Andy came by that afternoon and we discussed the job and how they would complete the work. I got an estimate from them that night at 6:40pm and a phone call from Traci at 7:00pm making sure I was aware I had received their estimate.

Wow, how many businesses are that thorough? Water main line jobs are not small jobs...they can be anywhere from 1 day to several days. I called Akers on Tuesday morning to accept their estimate and schedule the actual work.

Traci said they would review the schedule and call me back. Later that afternoon, Traci called me back and said they were able to rearrange their schedule so that they could start my job the very next day (Wednesday) and finish by Thursday.

Wow #2. Later that night (7:30pm), Traci called me again and said that Andy had been contemplating my job and had a better overall recommendation (at no additional cost) and wondered if I would be OK with the change they were recommending.

Wow #3. By Wednesday night, 2/3 of the job was complete and we had running water for the first time in 4 days.

Wow #4. By Thursday the job was 100% complete.

No delays and no snags (that I was aware of). Wow #5.

Finally, they put my yard back together so that when I arrived home on Thursday night, I could not even tell they had been working at my home for the last 2 days. Actually, that's not accurate...my yard actually looked BETTER after they left.

They replanted some larger plants that I had dug up to find my leak several days ago and cleaned up. Honestly, I could not tell they had been digging anywhere in my yard.

Wow #6. There are very few businesses that delight their customers from beginning to end and at every level of a job.

Andy and Traci at Akers, however, are as good as it gets. Kudos! While it's often hard to believe anyone could have all great reviews, we now understand why Andy and his team are rated so highly! After some examination we decided our newly swampy front yard and the new stream running across the driveway was probably a water main leak.

The next challenge was to find someone reliable who would come out on a Saturday afternoon. (thanks Yelp for the reviews! ) We called Akers Outdoor Plumbing and they quickly answered our call for help.

Tracy was very helpful and informative. She clearly understands water main leaks and provided helpful information.

Andy was at our home within hours to assess the extent of our problem. He is clearly an outdoor plumbing expert, including understanding of our very old sprinkler system (not the leak problem).

The quote was in line with our expectations (we watch way too many home improvement shows), and on Monday, less than 48 hours from our call, Andy's team was on the job. Great team, they know what they're doing and are really hard working.

Not only were they standing in water, it was also pouring down cold rain all day. They did the work just as Andy described, and except for a very small patch in the asphalt driveway, you can't even tell they were ever here! THAT's Quality! Andy handled contacting all the different utilities and municipal contacts.

The inspection was seamless and very quick. Although we wish we didn't have a water main leak, our experience with Akers was exceptional.

We would recommend them to anyone!!! I needed a plumber to fix my water main leak fast and Andy came to the rescue. After doing a Google search and reading the stellar reviews here on Yelp I called, on a Saturday no less, and they were out here in about an hour.

Andy was super nice and professional and I could tell within a few minutes of talking to him he was a straight shooter that was very experienced and confident in his ability. He had a very reasonable bid back to me within a few hours that same day.

I know because I got a second bid that was close to double. They knew I was very concerned about how much water I was loosing from the main and completed the job the next day.

Everything went so smooth! I could not be more pleased and would most definitely recommend! I am incredibly happy with the work that Andy and his crew did with installing a new waterline. For background, I went on vacation for a few days and came back to discover water coming out from underneath my driveway.

I called four plumbing companies for a bid. Of the four, Andy was by far the most thorough in examining the problem and explaining his solution.

One of the tools he has (which the other companies didn't), is a horizontally drilling tool, which can dig underneath the driveway. Meaning, he doesn't have to jack hammer the driveway to lay down the pipe, so it's a lot cleaner and doesn't require patching up the driveway.

He was also the only one that checked the crawl space to see how the new line would be going into the house. I decided to go with Andy, and I couldn't be more satisfied.

His team showed up within a few days and worked quickly to get my water running again. I am especially appreciative to Andy and his crew, because they adjusted their schedule so that they could get to the water leak (which was only getting bigger by each day) sooner.

His crew was experienced and friendly (they've been working together for a while, which is a great sign). After the city inspector came and gave it a thumbs up, his crew cleaned up and left everything in even better shape than it was before.

They even washed the dirt off the sidewalk. Also, I should mention that they were very responsive in communication (thanks, Traci).

I would absolutely recommend Akers Outdoor Plumbing! They're professional, knowledgeable, honest, and just good people. We had a leak in the waterline from the house to the meter and after receiving three bids we couldn't recommend Akers Outdoor Plumbing more highly.

They replaced my 80 year old water line at my rental property that had sprung a leak. They were able to schedule an estimate appointment within a few days.

Without a second thought I would recommend and call Akers Outdoor Plumbing again. I came home from work and discovered a water mainline leak in my front yard/porch area.

I have some good experience with broken things around the house but water endless rushing from my home into my front yard - not one of them. I received a few bits of advice on 1) needing to locate where the water main line leak is 2) marking that location and 3) then servicing the lines where the leaks or breaks are.

This is where I found the Akers can do all of this rather than hiring two companies - one to detect where the leak is at and then another to service and repair the pipe. I was lucky and they were able to accommodate coming out the same day I called to take a look and give me an assessment of how bad the water leak was, a general estimate and assessment and help in whether to call the Seattle Public Utilities to come out and shut off the water.

In doing so, Andy and Traci coordinated with me all day, great communication and made me feel confident with choosing someone I didn't know yet to help me. Here is a recap of why I preferred and appreciated their service.

I had a leak in an old water line that was about 200 ft through brush and trees. We decided to replace the line.

Andy and his crew knew exactly what to do and most importantly had the equipment to do it. They were very respectful, flexible and put everything back even better than it was.

They hand dug four large holes and the digging was not easy. One individual was a digging machine.

Andy and Traci are top-notch business people and I am sure they are a blessing to everyone they touch. They are extremely fair with their pricing and the excellent service is a deal! Yelp led me to Akers Plumbing and thank goodness! We had a huge water leak somewhere from our house to the water meter; the $2K+ water bill and spinning water meter told us that.

I called a couple of services, but Akers Plumbing was willing to come out sooner, realizing we needed help pronto. I cannot give a more glowing review of this company.

They were prompt, courteous, respectful, friendly, communicative and demonstrated high standards. Andy led an awesome team of folks who were reliable, professional, and just lovely people.

I even got a little education re: outdoor plumbing. They bypassed the leak right away so we weren't gushing water.

Poor experience with getting estimate: Contacted Akers, spoke with Traci. Explained in detail the situation and ask for someone to come over to provide an estimate (need to run a new supply line pex 1" from pigtail to the house).

The morning of the appointment received a call from Traci asking to reschedule morning to later afternoon. I agreed.

No one came in the agreed time slot so had to call Traci twice. 2nd time she answered and sad that someone stopped by already and they didn't think it was safe(???) because the trench for the line was already dug up.

I had 3 other reputable local outdoor plumbing companies come and give me estimates and not one said anything about the trench (was dug up to spec). Having the trench in place saves $1500-$2000.

Traci's answer was: "That's not how we work..." Not sure what that supposed to mean. It seems they would like to charge me extra $1500-$2000 for digging a trench which only took me 3-4 hours to do myself or $50-$100 if you hire a high-school teenager to do.

Was unpleasantly surprised with the way they handled this. P.S.

i had utilities companies 6 months ago mark all the lines when I had sewer pipes replaced around the same area. So again, safety argument is just bogus...

Just wanted to give a shout out for Akers. My neighbor's 100 year old sewer pipe that runs through our yard became clogged from roots.

My neighbor is retired and on a limited income. When Ryan from Akers learned that there would be an additional cost of hiring another contractor to run a high power hose to clean out the pipes, the company covered the extra charges so my neighbor wouldn't have to.

They were polite, respectful, and completed their work within 3 business days, which was amazing because they had to hand dig the 6' hole because of its awkward location in my yard. They get a 5 star rating from me! It costs $4,500 to replace our main water line in our front yard, 50% down, 2-3% extra if using credit card.

Their specialty & money maker is replacing water lines. Great experience all around.

I was told by a plumber that I probably had an external leak either under my house or from the main line, based on his recommendation I called another company who were going to charge upwards of $300 just to find the leak "if they could." On second thought I called Akers and they had someone out the next afternoon, explained to me what the problem was, how they would fix it and all the basics since water lines and plumbing is not my forte. Andy was really helpful and educated me and at this point I owed nothing.

Mind you this is where the other company would have charged me and gone no further as their business is only detection. Got a quote from Andy a couple days later and within another day the job was done, again the guys on site explained what they did, why and what they found.

On top of the guys on site, Traci communicated everything with me along the way and made the whole process super easy. Great company all around! I suspected a leaking water main pipe between the city's meter and our house.

I called Akers on Thursday evening before they closed and Traci was able to schedule a visit from Andy the next morning. He came in, diagnosed it right away and showed me what they could do.

Also gave me an estimate that day, which was great (and free!) He also dug out the water main shutoff at the city meter (was buried in dirt) and showed how to turn it off. We didn't have a house shutoff (a 1957 house which only had the old, rusted off metal pipe shutoff coming from the ground).

The guys came on Tuesday and fixed everything up that day (they would've come earlier but had another client). They replaced the old, rusted out galvanized pipe (Andy showed me the hole in it where it rusted through) with copper.

He also installed a modern, easier to access house shutoff which was much-needed. The whole process was painless and very appreciated.

In our situation our water line ran under our very long driveway and then under our front porch. Being a concious consumer I called around to get bids on the job and was quoted more than DOUBLE than what Akers bid for the project.

No mess and it is doing so well. Our water main from the street to our house broke.

They came out and gave us an estimate 1-2 days. From start to finish they got us up and running in 2-3 days! They dug a few holes in the yard that I was concerned wouldn't get put back the way it was and to my surprise I can't even tell where the holes were made.

After some investigation we determined that the break was somewhere between the meter and the house but it was impossible to figure out where. The lot between house and street has quite a slope and is fully landscaped, so trenching for a new line would have been messy and disruptive and would have had to figure out navigating the almost 5 foot high retaining wall next to the sidewalk.
