Review and analyze now for company Aramendia Plumbing, Heating and Air and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''Bob & Judy Shivers. Lucky for us when we needed plumbing services, our paths crossed again with our friends at Aramendia.
We called before hours and got immediate response for service. Our good friend, Carlos Medellin, arrived early, addressed the plumbing issue and informed us of the solution.
Carlos enjoys explaining things. Problem solved at a reasonable cost.
We will look no further than Aramendia for all our plumbing needs. And it happened again.
And no one can help until 24 hours from now. This is company lacks clear experience in handling HVAC issues.
The only thing that this company can guarantee is that this unit will go out every 1-3 months. The STACK of service orders on this system is INSANE.
Unacceptable on all levels. BUYER BEWARE.
They told me the hot water heater was broken and it would cost $4000 for a new one. But we got a second opinion and it was working perfectly.
They lied. if I could give it zero stars I would.
We have had a warranty with this company for the last eight years. Our AC went out and Tyler.
The salesman tried to sell us on a brand new system that would've cost us $27,000. Luckily, we have people we know and, ask them to come out and take a look and said that we didn't need a new system, but a new capacitor and some refrigerant.
A few hundred dollars later and our AC was up and running just fine. We have an American Standard, which is a great unit made by Train and this company was trying to tell us we need a brand new system when our system is top-of-the-line and working fine.
Y'all should be ashamed of yourselves for taking advantage of people. Aramendia was kind in doing damage control with my unpleasant experience with one of their office staff.
However, I remember in the past of encountering her before because of her unfriendly attitude. So this is not a mistake.
And Aramendia needs to take the hit for allowing such attitude to represent their company. On Saturday, 27 April 2024, I discovered a water leak at the front of my house.
Called Aramendia, within a reasonable amount of time Marco and Trey arrived, listened to my story about the leak and what I had done. Both assured me that they could and would solve my leak problem.
My wife and I are truly impressed with the professionalism, knowledge, work shills and friendliness of Marco and Trey. The leak was repaired with minimum waisted motion, while making sure we understood what the problem was and the repair needed.
The only business card now in our file is Aramenda,s. Great service on the phone, response time, and two of the most professional employees that did the actual repair.
Thanks Preston and Janet Robinson While the technicians who installed my AC, they worked very hard and they deserve a 5 star rating all the way, but the salesperson who visited our facility, first of all he did not know anything about AC and furnace, and he sold us a unit much larger than where the installer had a hard time to put it in. Also we have a natural gas unit and he sold us a heat pump unit which we did not need at much higher cost.
We have contacted Aramendia with no resolution and we need to either get the unit replaced with natural gas furnace or get compensated for the different in the cost. In addition we were never told that they were going to LEASE the unit and we found that out after 6 to 7 month into leasing.
We have still been making payment but recently reduced the payment so we can come to an agreement. DO NOT TRUST THE ARAMENDIA AT ALL.
BUNCH OF SCAM ARTIST. I had Aramendia install a new Moen faucet in my bathroom sink in November or so.
Started to have problem with water draining extremely slowly. I had been putting up with it but decided to get taken care of.
I called and made appt for someone from Aramendia to come out. Carlos and Dillon came and Carlos was able to get any standing or running water to drain as it should.
Now works great!! Since the faucet had been installed so recently, it should not have had problem this soon with draining. This is what Carlos determined and to my surprise, there was no charge for this appointment and my problem has been resolved! I would use this company again.
TRASH customer service. called on Friday for them to come out for a quote and was told they need manager approval.
didn't hear anything on Monday and called again and they said the same thing. Called again on Tuesday and asked for a manager.
Turns out they don't even service overhead heaters... Marcos and his team were a dream! They were on time, answered all my concerns, and were very professional and polite! They went above and beyond to respect our store space so we could still do business and have maintenance done for our store! I highly recommend them if you need any work done! I have used aramendia plumbing heating and air at both of our houses.
We've been members on their A-Team and had several air-conditioning units, water heaters and other things put in by them we didn't have any problems with that what we did have problems with was them making appointments with us. I'm on my third appointment now and no one has showed up.
I've been let down three times. Their customer service is terrible, and now I'm changing to someone else after 10 years of being with them because they can't get their stuff together and I'm tired of being let down Never have I had such a prolonged painful experience from an air conditioning company.
Going on 2 weeks now since they diagnosed a fan that was out on our compressor, with still no ETA for the part. I have never worked with an Air Conditioning company who so non-urgently try to fix a fully nonfunctional air conditioner in Texas summer heat, leaving my pregnant wife and young daughter without AC in our sleeping area for 2 weeks.
They have been terrible at providing interval updates unless I call and inquire, and multiple times having to leave messages for them, and them frequently forgetting to return them at all. Finally had an update 2 days ago when I escalated to management, stating that it'd be in yesterday or today...
those days came and went with them never bothering to call to notify us that it's delayed even further with still no ETA. Honestly, it depends on the plumber tech they send you (and they have a lot).
Some are professional and knowledgeable and some break things and want you to pay for it. ( But even the good ones leave a mess and overcharge you.
) We called this company to look at my ac that was not blowing. They figured out the blower wasn't working which I had already told them.
They tried to upsell me on a lot of things that i am not interested in right now. The two repairmen told us they were going to check with the warehouse the next morning to see if they had the blower in stock.
The next day, we never heard from them. We waited till Monday and were told the part was ordered and would be there in a few days.
We have called daily and have not gotten a clear answer. It has been about a week.
Now they are saying they don't know when the part will get there. I am tired of the lies with this company.
Beware if you decide to go with them! Beware! If I could give zero stars, I would. We have been an Aramendia customers for YEARS and have had both our indoor and outdoor AC units replaced by them (2013 for the outdoor unit, and 2016 for the indoor unit).
When our outside unit stopped working, we immediately contacted them because we were unsure if the coils on the inside unit were frozen. We also turned off the AC and let the fan blow for an hour.
Following that hour, the outside AC unit started running again, but we elected to keep our next day appointment so Aramendia could assess the situation. The workers arrived promptly on 7/23/2023 and inspected both the indoor and outdoor units.
We were told that: 1) the indoor unit was leaking Freon (missing approximately 2 pounds), 2) that the coils of the inside unit were dirty, and 3) that mold was rampant (mind you, the inside unit that Aramendia installed in 2016 came with UV light bulbs to specifically target that). We were quoted approximately $12,000 for the repair of the inside unit (the 10-year limited warranty of the inside unit was not even addressed).
The other option we were given was to sign up for their Advantage Leasing Plan to replace both units, and we were given the recommended option of a 10 year lease at approximately $318 per month (for a total of $38,160). Luckily, we got a second opinion, and it turned out that the reason the outside unit was cutting out was because our AC drainage pipe was clogged.
No leaking Freon was noted, nor did the coils need to be cleaned. We ended up paying $160 to unclog the drain, and our AC is working just fine.
I'm beyond livid that a company would take advantage of its customers-especially during the hottest summer of the year. Hopefully, a situation like this will never happen to another customer.
We called Aramendia Plumbing on a Saturday morning, they came out within 3 hours, made a simple adjustment in a faucet we couldn't turn off and told us there was no charge. We set up the twice a year service for our a/c unit about a year after we bought our house.
When they came for our first service/tune up, they discover a lot of issues going on like leaks in the coils and a bunch of microbial growth within the blower and coils. Our electric bill was way higher than our neighbors throughout the year as well.
We decided to do an upgrade and set it up for a Monday morning. Marcelo & James both set up the whole system from start to finish (930-to (5:30).
Explained the features and all. They were both polite and knowledgeable on their skillset! For the system itself, right off the bat, it's quieter and pushes so much more air out quicker and keeps the temp consistent.
Looking forward to lower electric bill! Thank you for yalls service! I bought my house in 2020. It was built in 1992.
The first 2 yrs living here I had to pay a large amount for A/C service which only lasted for 1 year, so I decided to look into getting my system replaced. I had several different HVAC companies come out and give me an estimate.
I received different prices and explanations from each one of them. I decided to go with Aramendia for a few reasons.
Everyone I spoke with on the phone was polite and was able to answer any question I had immediately, which to me, showed they had knowledge in what they were talking about. The 2 men who showed up to take a look at my A/C system and give me an estimate were also polite and professional.
They offered me several options and explained them in detail it terms that were understandable. I chose to have my entire system replaced.
We set up an appointment for the installation. The 2 man crew who showed up to replace my A/C were on time, explained what they were going to do and got to work immediately.
It was another blistering hot day yet I never heard any complaints or saw any delay in the work they did. One worked on the fan/heatpump on the outside of the house and they other on the inside part of the system.
They both kept their work area clean and cleaned up after they completed the installation. It took approximately 5 1/2 hrs.
They both did a great job and my A/C has been working fantastic. I have waited almost 2 wks to write my review to see if anything unexpected was going to happen.
I am happy to say, my air conditioner is still cooling my house, is very quite, and I am glad I went with Aramendia. The 2 technicians, Jorge and Sergio deserve a shoutout for the great job they did.
The two gentlemen by trade Plummer's, that came out to assist my elderly grandmother were helpful and knowledgeable. In minutes they got her tankless water heater working.
I would highly recommend Andrew and Daniel the next time you need assistance. Thank you both very much.
TRIED to sell me $7347 worth of product said HAD TO DO IT called another company and fixed it for 600.00 SAW I was over 74 years old and took advantage i am passing this on to all my neighbors friends and relatives BY the way heater and AC working great My experience was brief but good. I needed a clogged toilet fixed.
I called just before 5pm on a Friday and the girl who answered was polite and helpful. She put me on the schedule for the next day, Saturday, and said I'd get a call when they were on the way, likely in the morning.
I received a call today with 45 minutes notice. Two plumbers arrived on time, both masked, and provided me with two quotes, a simple auger (snake) fix of $195 and the second, if they had to pull the toilet for $595.
Luckily, it was the simple fix and the problem was solved in no time and they treated the toilet with an acid to help it flush better. The price quoted was the price charged.
Again, a rather simple and quick interaction but a positive one. Aramendia came out to do an inspection on a residential HVAC system, the tech diagnosed a few things that were bad and stated an entire system would be needed and quoted around $13k for a basic low end system.
Obviously we had a second person go out there (this time not affiliated with Aramendia) and he found that it was just a blown capacitor, quick 5 minute change and we're back in business. I will NEVER do business with Aramendia moving forward.
THIS IS DISHONEST, DECEITFUL AND APPARENTLY TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GO ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR NEEDS Chandler and Miguel were fast and honest and efficient, and friendly.
They gave me estimates for each stage of the work. They gave me a Senior Citizen's discount.
They came within an hour of my calling the main office. Great service.
They have given me great service many times for various plumbing issues in my old house. They have never over charged me.
My bathroom shower from upstairs leaked into the downstairs ceiling and into a light fixture. I was scheduled for a 5-7 PM time slot.
The men arrived about 15-20 minutes late after the window had lapsed. I explained to them what was going on, They wouldn't even look at the issue at all.
They said we have to start this tomorrow. What? Why did they come out then? If your business is not an emergency plumbing service, please stop advertising like it is.
Great Service. Their former field supervisor is a total bad-ass! Quick, responsive and professional.
I have been using Aramendia Plumbing for ten years. Great service, prompt on time and great people.
Aramendia is also my Air Conditioner provider. They installed 2-A/C and new furnaces all in one day!Good people.
Aramendia will be my first call out! After my post, I followed the company's response and discusses issues with the management and was able to get the issues rectified. Suggest you call them if you have any concerns with service requested from them and the man agent will engage to assist & ensure you receive great value for your services paid.
Thank you all who responded or saw value in my original posting, hope this helps you too. Thank you & KUDOS to the engaged management at Aramendia Plumbing, Heating, & Air.
Jeremy is a topnotch super nice guy. You have a customer for life.
My a/c stopped cooling and is under warranty with Aramendia. Called them and tech came out just after 1.
After about 3.5 hours and changing the capacitor and some fuses, he called for back up. Another tech came and after about an hour they claimed it was fixed.
$822 because nothing was under warranty and they left. House wasn't cooling.
Gave it some time then called number. Office closed but called after hours number 5 times without an answer.
Left a voicemail. No response.
Called the plumbing emergency number; voicemail not set up and no answer. Plumbing calls back, I share the frustration.
A/C Tech calls an hour later to tell me he won't make it but I'm the first call. Aramendia didn't respond until the next day at 5:45pm.
Max Care had already come out to fix it by then. Beware!! I had a small clog in my kitchen that was causing my laundry to back up.
They wouldn't give me an estimate over the phone. Instead they waited until I was desperate and then told me when they got there how much it would be.
It turned out that I had them clean the drain. They charged me more than double the price of the other companies.
I would advise to get other quotes for services. Aramendia will rip you off! Our AC quit working.
Aramendia installed the unit 8 years ago and treated us very well back then. It is evident that ownership of this company has changed.
We have a small leak in the evaporator coil on our heat pump. They quoted $4500 to replace.
We found out that is is covered u see warranty and the technician quoted us $3800 to replace the coils and Freon. They were going to order the coil and let us know when it comes in.
David G emailed us options if we wanted to replace our whole heat pump instead of just replacing the coils. He quoted us $22089 for a new 3 ton system comparable to what we currently have.
A week later we called to ask for an update and found out they had not ordered the coil and had to come back out to get information off the system again before they could order the coil. 10 days later we call again and they "just got the coil in" and could install it the next day.
I called a different company and was quoted $875 to replace the coil under warranty and $3000 without warranty. If I wanted to replace the whole system it would be $9000 with tax and installed.
We called and spoke with a manager and someone who supposedly is over that manager and neither of them seem to care about earning business or explaining the price difference. Their only excuse is that companies charge different prices and if u wanted to cancel just let them know.
So I am taking my business elsewhere and recommend you do the same! I've called Aramendia plumbing several times for emergent plumbing service. They are not the cheapest but I believe the quality of work and service to be better than other plumbers I've used.
When you have a water Emergency- it is stressful and you need a fast response. Aramendia has been able to effectively dispatch and repair my issues within 6 hours of call the last 3 times I've called them.
I will continue to call them first when an emergency arises. Also, all of their plumbers they have sent out are courteous and professional.
For a 15 minute pipe repair we were charged $300+. USAA it should have cost only $100.
Because the USAA rep gave bad advise they refunded the balance. We trust Aramenda with our heating, air conditioning and plumbing issues.
Today had the sei annual heating air conditioning maintenance checkup. Crystal provided a very good explanation of what she was doing and what she discovered.
Very thorough, felt like I understood how each of my air conditioner units were functioning. Had a hot water heater not working.
Called Aramendia out for a "free estimate with no trip charge" as advertised on their website. The tech showed up took 5 minutes to tell us we needed a new hot water heater.
Wanted $2100 for a new hot water heater? We said no he said it's a $195 quote fee. What happened to free as advertised? Said didn't apply to us.
Wouldn't leave without cash in hand. Don't call them unless you want a $195 quote or a $2100 water heater.
The next plumber asked for a $65 trip/quote will charge. Get a $429 hot water heater from home depot next door, with a 6-year warranty, and install in 3 hours at $65 an hour.
Woke up this morning to no hot water and a stream of water flowing from our water heater out in the garage. Called Aramedia at 7:30 a.m., and by 9:30 a.m.
they had a truck at our house. Our technician Marcos identified a broken flange within the tank and recommended a replacement, which they conveniently carried right on the truck.
They carefully explained my options and the pricing for each. Four hours later I have a new, slightly larger and more energy efficient water heater.
Service was incredibly fast and the technicians were very courteous. Could I have gone elsewhere for cheaper? Maybe.
The icing on the cake is that Marcos also took a look at my water softener within the same cabinet and noticed it was set to regenerate way too often. We've had some briny water issues, and he identified the cause as water pressure at street level that was higher than what SA code allows; the softener was being bypassed into the house due to valve pressure issues.
Without charging us anything extra he replaced the street water intake valve, replaced some valves on the softener, and also placed a water alarm in the cabinet (also free) to identify future water leaks. I've never experienced such amazing and courteous service from a plumber/AC service before.
If we need more repairs in the future I know who I'm calling. Overpaid for a new ac unit that wasn't installed correctly (had to be replaced 1 yr after) and breaks down every summer since it was installed.
Its infuriatingly frustrating since Texas gets so hot in the summer. They are not worth the hassle and I warn anyone against using them.
Everyone on the team is great! Always informative, on time and great work. There are cheaper companies but I've never had a problem with Aramendia.
Every job they have done for me has been right every single time. Our toilet flooded from the bottom of the toilet and we called them.
First the technicians showed up much later than they said. Then the technicians came in chew their gum like a cow chews a cud and the guy acted as if we were completely dumb and he was rude.
The technicians ran some water and created the leak again. The technician also said the drain was clogged so they would have to charge 800 bucks for the first hour to remove the toilet, run a diagnostic and see if they can unclog it; and said if it takes more than an hour it would be an additional 800 bucks per hour.
He also said we can't assume anything other than it's a clog and how dare we assume that it's only a clog. When we said we'd like to evaluate and call them back they said we're leaving and left without even a thank you or cleaning up the mess they made.
We were going to also use them to look at the hvac unit but with the rudeness and lack of any customer service skills or interpersonal skills I would never use them for anything. Save your money and hire someone else who will treat you respectfully.
A technician was sent just hours after I requested a service call. The positive review stops there.
He found a leaking expansion tank on a hot water heater. He quoted a replacement plus flushing the tank and installing some sort of device which he claimed would eliminate sediment - all for $1,900.
What scammers. I ended up paying $250 to another company for a service call, a replacement tank, and flushing.
That technician scoffed at the device to eliminate sediment. I'm done with Aramendia.
The ac is working great but if they would finish cleaning up the mess they left, I would be able give more stars. Worst warranty service ever.
Our AC has been broken for 2 weeks with no solution. We've had multiple techs out here multiple times and even a manager.
We paid for Freon, we've waited for new parts, and still nothing. At this point they should just be replacing the unit, but nope.
Even worse the manager had a bad attitude, showed up without a tech which would have been fine except he didn't have any equipment (not even a ladder), and to top it all off he was a perv. My elderly father with Alzheimer's lives with us and it's been over 100 degrees for multiple days.
We thought about using the company for some mini splits and gas lines on a home renovation project, but will never use them again. If you can't fix an AC unit after 2 weeks no way I trust you to install safe gas lines.
I called this company because my toilet was not working. Technician came out fixed it, but after 10 minutes of work he charged me $299!!! Great experience with Aramendia Plumbing.
Needed a 50 gallon water heater replaced in an attic location and was dreading the process and the mess. However, Andrew and Daniel did a great job of explaining all of the options and walked me through the process up front, and also went to great lengths to keep the mess to a minimum and treated our home like it was their own.
They also made a couple of other recommendations to insulate the pipes in the attic and to address some older fittings that were beginning to leak. They also tested our overall water pressure in the house, which was too high, so we opted to have them install a regulator valve on the main line to protect the rest of the plumbing in the home.
Rare to find this level of professionalism and attention to detail and we couldn't be happier with the job they did. Would highly recommend Aramendia to anyone needing plumbing services and will definitely be using them in the future when needed.
I have used Aramendia in the past at my current home and previous home. I had a small water leak on my side of the meter so I pumped the water out and found where the leak was.
It was from the repair Aramendia did about 5 years ago. I know repairs don't last forever and since I knew where the leak was and all that needed to be done was reseal the connection.
The techs that came out did just as I did and told me they can't find the leak and have to dig up my yard to find it. They wanted to charge me $795 for this.
I realized this guy lied to me and I just took the estimate and let him leave. I had another city worker come by and he showed me exactly where the leak was which is the same place I described above.
The work Aramendia did for me in the past was excellent, but now I am not so sure about calling them anymore. Overly expensive.
Had them remove and replace two toilet seals. Just to post a comment needs extra words I have to share that Aramendia Plumbing in San Antonio, TX is an awesome company.
Over the past dozen or more years, I've needed to use their services on several occasions & the jobs have all been completed to my complete satisfaction (not that anyone is ever thrilled when they need to have plumbing work done)! Aramendia is a company that puts 110% effort into making sure their customers are totally satisfied & for this reason, I fully recommend them when you need a plumber. I've not used their other services but no doubt, they put the same outstanding efforts into those.
We called Aramendia Heating & Air as our pilot was not staying lit. We would be able to light it, it would stay on for a while then off.
By the time Aramedia came, the pilot would only stay on if we maintained the lighting-pilot button pressed down. Two technicians came to assess the situation, after being briefed, they indicated the whole piping system coming out of the water heater was not up to par and that was a great point to start trouble shooting.
I was informed a quote with a list of repairs and upgrades to the pipes would be provided. They asked if the water heater - 18 months old - was installed by a licensed contractor.
I indicated that it was, and everything was up to city code. As I question the reasonableness of how all the sudden pipes would prevent the pilot not to stay on, they pressed on the pipes and ducts as the likely culprit.
I am no plumber, but I do have common sense. More questioning got me nowhere, they left the home to proceed to prepare their quote outside.
When I came out, they said "well, I am not supposed to do this for free, but I will try to light your pilot". Apparently, they hadn't even tried to light the pilot.
Getting into the attic with them, and watching him trying to do so, the technician acknowledged that it was probably the Gas Valve Regulator that needed replacement. Armed with this obvious knowledge, the technician gave me a quote for $695.00, not to replace the pipes and ducts (few!) but to replace the regulator.
And by the way, he made a point to say the part may be hard to get and would not commit to an estimate. First, $695.00 is a rip off for an hour and a half or so of labor this job takes, second, I wonder how much they would have charged for a $150 or so part, third, if I had not questioned their stupid "pipes and ducts" diagnosis, would I be stuck with thousands of dollars in pipes and ducts upgrades plus additional $695 labor to install the regulator, plus who know how much for the regulator which was obviously what was wrong in the first place?? I end up calling a licensed plumber, indicated the gas regulator had failed, 3 hours later, he came, installed the part, and charged $360.00 all in.
Stay away from Aramendia Heating & Air Dishonest plumber. I had a water leak that I needed to get taken care of, pouring water out down the street from a busted underground pipe.
I called up Aramendia, because I'd heard their advertisements on the radio and they have a catchy jingle. They show up promptly, and make out an estimate for first finding the leak that I thought was quite unreasonable.
They wanted hundreds of dollars an hour to dig around. I sent them home, got out the shovel and started digging to figure out where the water was coming from.
A connection had gone bad about a foot underground, and was leaking. Once the leak was found, I called Aramendia back out to make the repair.
They wrote out an estimate for soldering a new connection, which I felt was high priced, but necessary. The plumbers cut out the bad coupling, and attempted to solder in a new one.
I watched intently, as the plumber explains that he's really good at soldering, since he used to be a welder. He spends more attention on bragging than soldering.
The plumbers then turned on the water, and it still leaked. Although it's tough telling quite where the water was coming from, he looked with a mirror, and determined that it was still leaking, which is bad news.
The plumbers then told me that they'd have to chip away at rock and cement to get to the part that's leaking, and the cost has now nearly doubled from the original quote. I asked them if they were sure it was leaking from elsewhere, and not that they did a poor job of soldering the replacement coupling.
Blank stare. I was without water, with a giant hole in the ground, and was being cornered.
I had no choice but to acquiesce to their shakedown. They proceeded to cut out the pipe connection that they had just soldered in, and tossed it aside.
I picked up the newly soldered and cut out connection, and plugged up one end of the pipe with my finger, and blew into the pipe. Air leaked from their freshly soldered connection, showing exactly where the problem in their repair was.
If air can leak from their soldered connection, water sure can. They didn't solder the pipe right, and it cost me an extra $300 to have them chip away at rock needlessly and repair it a second time, this time with solderless plastic connections that are inferior to the copper one they were replacing.
I showed them their incomplete soldering job on their pipe repair, and got a shrug and an outrageous bill. I absolutely feel like I got ripped off, and was treated unfairly.
I don't feel that it's my responsibility to pay twice the originally stated amount due to the plumber's incompetence. I'm never contacting Aramendia again, and suggest you don't either.
We are so impressed by the speed and quality of their services. We had an emergency and they were there quickly on the weekend with a very affordable price.
Stellar service. I've had them come to give me a diagnosis and estimate on my AC twice in the past year and every time they say I need to buy a new unit.
$10k-$13k. Then I get a second opinion and they tell me that who ever came out disconnected all the wires and made a mess of the connection board.
Ultimately the 2nd company is able to replace a few parts and fix the AC. The bottom line is, Armandia is untrustworthy.
I think they're liars just trying to sell ACs and not do repair work. I apparently have a water leak from my main shut off at street and even though they told me at time of scheduling they could at least determine where leak was.
when plumber showed up he did very little but confirm i must have a leak but wanted to charge 150.00/hr to dig around on a guess where pipe meets slab connection. They had no way of finding leak other than guess where line was.
come to find out the line was determined to be on side of house near where they guessed and i would have wasted time and money. I hesitated calling them anyway from the way they treated my step son when he applied for job years ago, but from all the "recommendations " on Nextdoor i gave it a shot, never again.
They are the typical larger rip off plumbing companies! "I manage a large retail portoflio in San Antonio, and after my experience this weekend with Aramendia Plumbing, they are off my vendor list and I will never refer them. My daughter had a leak on her main 1 inch PVC in the front yard.
They quoted $595 to include excavating and finding the leak. By the time they showed up, we had dug and found the leak so they spent 15 minutes cutting and replacing about 4 inches of PVC and still charged her the full amount.
After I disputed their price, since we spent 2 hours digging and finding the leak, they finally gave her a 10% discount, but honestly $535 to replace a $10 piece of PVC in 15 minutes! Highway robbery and unethical." Mari Del Toro Our AC unit is having trouble keeping up with the Texas heat this year (climbing up to 75-76 when set at 71-72) so we told our landlord. He put the call in and they came out two days later.
The guy seemed friendly enough, started to work right away. First looked at the inside unit and stated the coils were clogged.
Then proceeded to check the outside unit and said there was a Freon leak. Went over a bunch of pricing, which felt like a sales pitch.
I informed him to call my landlord and go over it. He stepped out, called and decided to refill the Freon Came back in and said what work was done and he was finished and if there were any more problems to call back or call my landlord, I didn't really hear the last part) Well it started off decent, it was set at 71 and the temp was at 71 Within 10 min of him leaving it climbed to 72 ( mind you I did not mess with anything else or touch the thermostat) Then another 10 min and it's at 73 Within the next two hours it climbs all the way up to 80 Now the inside unit makes a loud hissing sound which it never did before and the outside unit also makes an extremely loud buzzing sound which it also never did before.
I went around and checked all the vents and they weren't blowing nearly as cold as before or as strong. I have no idea if this guy was just new or what.
Called my landlord and informed him and he seemed pretty upset because I'm sure he shelled out a good amount of money for this. They are supposed to come back out tomorrow so we will see then.
But all in all it seems the technician made things worse At least before it only got to 75 but now it got all the way up to 81. Not too happy at all.
Installed a Navian tankless water heater in 2014 and are very professional and knowledgeable. From start to finish have made me a happy homeowner.
They came out again for routine maintenance and again I received outstanding service, this time from Marcos and his apprentice. They overnighted a part so I could get my hot running water as fast as possible.
This company shows old fashioned business values and ethics and even though they initially missed noting my updated phone number which caused delays trying to reach me, Derrick fixed the problem and cemented my trust and confidence in this company. I do not mind paying the necessary cost when I know I am getting high quality and value, which is how I feel about this company.
They had a truck dispatched within hours of a missed appointment. If you are looking to find a plumbing company you can trust, look no further! My in-laws just had them come and take care of a messed up hot water heater.
We witnessed the guys working smart and effectively. They are knowledgeable and made sure my family was safe.
The fixed errors and got the job done right. They know their ship.
Lol. The price was steep but a lot of work had to be done.
If you've had plumbers come out you know good ones aren't cheap. You get what you pay for with these peeps and it's the best.
They offer warranties on their products and their services. My mother-in-law said, "I want it done one time and I want it done right." Theses guys did it.
And they're available 24hrs a day. If you have a home it's be good to make Aramendia the plumbers you keep in mind.
Total Rip Off!!! Paid $2000 for water heater and extended warranty. Water heater broke and they wanted to charge $1200+ for parts and labor withou further extending the warranty.
Went to Home Depot and bought a new water heater for $600 and husband had it installed in a little over an hour. Would never recommend this company.
Commercial should spell r-I-p-o-f-f-I-a not Aramendia. My 74 year old mother called for an A/C unit not keeping up with thermostat setting.
After initial inspection, determined that she needed a new replacement unit and set up a payment plan for some term. She trusted them that the unit needed replacement.
After much coaxing by her son, called another company to check and get a second opinion, the drain was clogged causing the system to shut down. This turned out to be a drain cleaning, thermostat battery replacement and pressure check for around $70 vs a payment plan that would go for 117 months adding up to about $20,000.00 for 1 unit replacement.
This is just not an ethical group trying over charge a lady who lives off of social security installments only. Call if you like being over charged.
D Swain the men (Art, Louis and Dan) installed a new system and new duct work. They did and excellent job They were knowledgeable, professional and hard working.
We were having problems with our old unit (purchased from Aramendia), They sent a team out who had reviewed the history and inspected the old system Aramendia stood behind their product and helped us to remedy the problem in a fair and honestly better than we could of hoped for. Cannot ask more from a company to stand by their product and to employee excellent peopld.
Finally this issue has been resolved. Phil contacted us and was very apologetic of the issues we were having with Aramendia.
He said that he would get to the bottom of it and make some phone calls to find out why this kept occurring and find out why we would never receive any courtesy phone calls about services being canceled? It didn't take long for him to call us back and set up an appointment with us, for today! So we got a phone call that tech was on his way. Joe Gomez, the technician that arrived was unbelievable!!! He went above and beyond with performing maintenance on our A/C unit!!! We could not be happier with his service.
If we could, we would schedule follow up service just with Joe, he was that amazing. I am thankful that we gave Aramendia another chance!!! Last night the power went off at 11PM and we had no heating and I have my 98 years old father, at 8AM I called Aramendia because I am a customer since I moved from Houston 5 years ago and they came at 9 AM and fix the problem with the heating problem in this cold weather on New Years eve .
The company es very profesional, fast, reliavable I love been with this company for the mantainence of the AC. Thank You Aramendia for the fast respond today in this cold weather.' Happy New year!!! I thought I needed freon in my heat pump.
They told me the condenser was shot and I needed to spend about $7K on a new one. They left me with an estimate with a 10 year warranty.
So I called my AHS Home warranty Co (they don't pay for freon so it's cheaper to use someone else). AHS sent out American AC and Heating and they found that ants had gotten into the electrical contacts of my external unit.
They cleaned the ants out and my AC was working in 15 minutes, and I didn't need freon. Yes I do have an old AC and I know I'll need a new one soon.
But I REALLY resent being told I need to spend $6,599.00 when I don't really need to. There's value in a second opinion.
Crystal was very professional and knowledgeable. She explained to me everything in detail on the 18 point check list.
What she'd done and where we stood with our unit. I have to admit...I don't recall any service person explain the check list in such detail.
I would recommend requesting her for your next appointment. B Will never call this company again! Got a quote for a leaky toilet for $500.00 dollars, if he had to remove the toilet to put a wax ring, will cost me $600 dollars.
I'm sorry but this is ridiculous, found a local plumber and only paid $60.00 to get the wax ring replaced. Sorry but will never call you again.
I recommend reading this fully before calling Aramedia! I called Aramendia because my air conditioning was freezing up, they sent a technician same day, great; keep in mind, I am a single woman in a nice home. Kenneth recommended unclogging my condensation pipe (which I regularly do, but ok Kenneth) Kenneth came down told me it was unneeded and charged me $155.00; he added if it's the coils the estimated cost will be $1500 after an entire 20 minutes in my home.
Long story short, I complained and they promptly sent a tech (Ruben) with a clean cut guy in a polo (Jean) who clearly doesn't climb into attics much; they told me they will make it right. HERE IS WHERE THE SCAM BEGINS AND ITS ALL ON VIDEO, after a full inspection Jean comes in and tells me my A/C system "is a mess"; a coil leak, foam insulation in the coils, outside compressor is going out because its too small for inside unit, etc.
Jean shows me cell phone video (fake video) showing proof of the coils leaking with a device that beeps, pictures of the insulation, etc; Jean says repairs will be over $6500 and if I get it repaired he foresees a problem within "two years". If I did not mention, I have this all on my inside camera! It quickly moved into a sales moment with estimates for a new unit, I will share pictures of the estimates in addition to the videos; 25k on the high end and 17k on the low end, with some package costing $311 a month plus tax for 10 years.
I did not fall for this scam, because after the first tech left I figured out it was just a DIRTY FILTER!!! Air conditioning is working fine My A/C stopped working so I called to have it checked out. It was working perfectly fine even during the 100 degree days we were having.
The first thing I noticed is that a "salesman" arrived with the technician. But maybe that was standard for them.
The technician only asked where the units were located and nothing else. After about fifteen minutes the salesman tells me basically everything was bad.
The compressor, fan motor, capacitor, evaporator coil leak, and low on refrigerant. He stated that because the system used the old R22 freon the cost would not warrant fixing it and that I should just replace the system.
Hmm. Let me see.
One day the system is fine and the next most everything is bad. What are the odds.
Second Opinion Time. I called in another company and they stated that the capacitor is bad.
The fan motor was using more electricity than it should but still worked. The compressor had overheated but he used the hose to cool it down in 5 minutes and it started working.
This company did everything in front of me and showed me all the readings. Aramendia showed me nothing.
I got some system replacement quotes (lower tan Aramendia's) from him and he left without repairing anything. The next day I bought a capacitor for $70 and replaced it in 10 minutes.
I overly stressed the system the rest of the 100+ degree day and my daughter asked for a blanket. It has been running perfectly fine for 4 days now for a system that needed to be replaced.
I had used Aramendia before but it looks like Aramendia has become a system replacement company and not a system repair company. VERY PROFESSIONAL! We had a leak in the shower...they replaced our bad pipes and cleaned up after themselves perfectly.
Andrew and Johnny were quick working and efficient. I am definitely ALWAYS calling Aramendia for my plumbing and a/c.
Let me start out by saying if you are reading this review please move on and find another company to do business with. Aramendia since they were sold they have changed so much and are in the business of fleecing the customer.
I had my maintenance check with them on Friday and they finally agreed to replace the compressor that has been going bad for the last 3 years. It is still under warranty which includes parts and labor.
We were told that the freon would also have to be replaced and it is not covered under the warranty. I was quoted $175.00 per pound.
They came yesterday to do the work and the technician that came this time said the freon would be $180.00 per pound so the price went up $5.00 from Friday. The technicians must set the price since the technicians get paid by commission and not an hourly rate.
Needless to say I called the office and spoke with Rob who was suppose to be a boss. He was not very helpful.
I told him I looked up what the cost of freon is and asked if they are charging me for labor and I was told they are charging me for disposing of the old freon I said it cost $500.00 to dispose of freon his reply was that it is very expensive to dispose of freon. He tried to tell me I was looking at old rates.
I told him to give me credit that I was looking at 2022 rates and the rate was $50.00 to $80.00 that is a big difference from the $175.00 they are charging. Well I got 1 pound free and 15% off I still ended up paying $1000.00 for the freon which is a total rip off.
I was stuck using Aramendia due to the warranty. twice as much as their competitors and the jack up parts and labor on their warranty calls.
Awful I needed a plumbing inspection at a home I was buying. They showed up on time, were professional, and did exactly what I needed.
I'll use them again: Aramendia Plumbing has an awsome guy, Chris Metzer! He has not kept us waiting for text, call, or service! Same day service, in fact! He was able to figure out our water heater problem very quickly, and fixed it in a timely manner. Price was reasonable, and we will be calling them again, in the future! We live in Floresville and had hot water, by the end of the day.....thats Service!! Thanks again Chris Metzer! Kris M Had them perform annual maintenance and warranty work.
Annual maintenance was adequate but didn't seem like either tech did a lot. When I had a major issue, each time I asked the tech he said 4,000 to start.
Never said let me see and validated prices. Just gave me blanket prices.
Decided to use them because of warranty company and AC was already out and work was sub par. They talked me into changing set up and electric bill went from 250 to 400.
Not a fan. Go with someone else.
They rip you off!!! They came out to my house and wasted my time. I had a clogged line between my clean out and the city sewage line.
They told me that they would snake it for $285 and would not guarantee that it worked. I offered to pay them by the hour after they diagnosed the exact problem and would guarantee their work.
They got aggressive in tone and said it is not a negotiation and that I called them. So, I told them to leave.
Another plumber just snaked the line, it took him 5 minutes, and he is charging me $75.00. Which makes more sense being that he traveled 5 miles, total time spent including travel was 20 minutes.
The taps in my shower were leaking, so I called Aramendia after reading the positive reviews here. Their techs showed up 15 minutes late even though I was supposed to be the 'first call of the day.' Not a good start.
They explained that they could replace the stems with a one-year warranty or replace the damaged parts for a much less expensive cost, but no warranty. I should have stopped and called someone else at that point, because why wouldn't they stand behind their work? Instead, I thought 'these guys know what they're doing so the repair should last.' Less than a month later, the leak is back, and I'm out a few hundred dollars on top of the cost of having someone competent fix what they couldn't.
My advice is to call someone else or be prepared to pony up a lot of money for the more expensive warranty service. The sad joke is that their first goal is to "offer the best warranties in the industry." I guess the joke's on me.
I had Armenia come to my home because of the Comercial on tv......I'm a senior citizen that lives on SSI, try & live on that, which I told the lady when I called them...that my insurance is going to pay them, I have a water leak in my wall in master bath, they came out to look, I showed them where it is, then told me it would cost me $175.00 a hour, they don't do work for insurance companies......so now need to find a plumber tomorrow, that fix my leak......I will never recommen them to any senior citizen......they were also very rude to,talked to as I was an old lady with no sense......I won't give them any stars.....what do they do when a insurance company calls them......DONT TAKE THE MONEY............. My family is visiting and we experienced air conditioning issues in the middle of the night.
Kenneth and team were timely in dispatching, solving the problem, and going above and beyond for me. I can't thank you all enough.
You all are always professional and advocates for the customer. I highly recommend their service because I never had an issue getting service on weekends or weekdays.
Other companies are only available during the week, don't return voicemails, or hang up on the middle of the night emergency calls. This is why I am loyal to this team.
We used Aramendia to service our old outside gas tankless hot water heater and they kept it going longer than we had a right to expect. Installed the new one a year ago and they serviced it today.
I will totally use them for major things (e.g., most plumbers won't work with this kind of hot water heater) and they are VERY reliable and professional. I wouldn't use them for minor things as they are on the expensive side.
This is who you call when you need serious work. We had our AC units serviced this winter, for a cheap price.
We thought it was a good deal. They found nothing wrong with the units, but did some minor maintenance.
A few months later, one of the AC units went out. Turns out that Cowboys AC has a terrible reputation, so I decided to call Aramendia.
It is Sunday, but there were able to come out within 2 hours. An hour later, they had fixed the problems and even did some REAL maintenance for me.
All for $135, on a Sunday! They may not be the cheapest around, but they have always delivered top quality results. You get what you pay for, and with these guys, you get a bit more too.
Highly recommend them, especially in an emergency situation. I just wanted to let the company know that Marco Barrera from the eighth CW Sammy Houston outstanding job matter fact I requested him again for my October fall check and then I had a plumbing guys Andrea Andrew you got a UGARTE at Jose Ramirez came out there to check my instant heat pump those guys were dynamic and selves I'm glad you have quality team members that can take care of the customers and feel like they are part of the arm in your family thank you very much joke and savage I need feedback call me 210-913-4370 Over a year ago, I was TALKED OUT of paying for the water heater that day and going with the Advantage Program where I make payments toward the heater and they will service it every year until it is paid off...nowhere in the conversation did it say it was a lease and my payments would not be going toward the water heater.
I had a few things going on at the time: I had lost my dad a few weeks before and I was recovering from a bad cold. No one has ever serviced the water heater and when I called to pay the remaining balance, I was expecting 14 months of $20.95 ($293.30) to be removed from the balance.
It isn't. I now have a balance MORE THAN my water heater was priced because of termination fees to the lease program.
I called Aramendia to explain what had happened and the manager (Albert) who was less than helpful and told me that there was absolutely nothing he could do and he doesn't know what I was saying was accurate because he wasn't there. All I wanted to do was pay off the water heater and have them do what was right, but I can't.
DO NOT TRUST this company. The customers mean nothing to them.'''.
