literally, a few houses down the street. While he was working out of his garage, just him and his single van, he replaced a water heater for us.

His work, and his work ethic, was superb. My family has used his company for all our plumbing needs since he started.

Now that he's grown the company into a company with many employees and vehicles, the work ethic and philosophy has remained the same throughout the past 30 years. I know this reads like it's an ad, or a PR write-up for the company, but in all honesty...

it's simply the best plumbing company in San Antonio. They charge a little more than the average plumbers in San Antonio, but you get what you pay for...

and for the quality of the work, they charge a fair price. I recently, thought I'd try a different company for a small plumbing job that I thought was beneath Chambliss, I won't say which one, because this isn't an ad for their pink vans/trucks *wink wink*...

but nevertheless, they didn't show up at the scheduled time... and when I called them, they had failed to put my appointment on their schedule.

I KNEW I should have just called Chambliss, which I did today, and have them scheduled for tomorrow. I don't even question that they will be here on time, if not early, and finish the job like the experts they are.

The lasted issue occurred last night when we discovered that our upstairs water heater was leaking from the bottom and had overflown the reservoir pan. Since Chambliss installed the water heater approx.

4 years ago, called them this morning and they came right out and replaced it. Fast, professional service.

Their employees have always told us was exactly was wrong and an accurate estimate. I highly recommend them for any type of plumbing issue.

We finally decided to replace our old worn out carpet with wood flooring. We did our research and chose a company with very high ratings.

They came in and put down some really nice floors. I will not go into details here, but I will just say we had to have plumbing repairs for 3 huge mistakes the floor company made.

We hired Chambliss for each of these repairs. The first visit came a couple of weeks after the floors were done.

They took off some of the sheet rock and found a nail in the right sink water line. They did a great job fixing it, and we thought everything was fine.

Then during the Labor Day holiday another leak showed up. Can you say $$$$? They checked the original repair, and it was fine.

They took out more sheet rock and found another nail in the left sink. They fixed this one also.

Prior to the sheet rock being repaired we found another nail. This was in the PVC drain pipe.

Another call to Chambliss. When they came back, they found another nail in the same pipe, so we now had 2 nails in the PVC.

Because of where the nails were, the job became complex. After getting some additional supplies that they did not carry on their truck, they fixed the problem.

So why not 5 stars? It was some small things. They should have spotted the nails in the PVC in searching for the leaks.

Also, they should have had all the parts on their truck. Will I use them again? Let me just say that they are on speed dial.

Cleaned out tree limbs from pipe from house to curb. Wanted $4500 to fix pipe!! But the whole problem was not fixed.

Commode still would only flush twice then stop up. When I talk to owner, he was not very friendly.

They also charged me almost $400 to come out and do what they did. Troy would never all me back about why commode was still not flushing.

I feel they are excessively expensive. And, they never completed the job!! Finally had another company come out - what I needed it turns out was a new commode!! (My house was built in 1984).

The Chambliss plumbers Roy and Justin (Son of owner) came by and looked at a leak on my water heater. Luckily, they had said that the tank was still good and was not leaking but found the leak at the top where the main water line was feeding the tank.

They also noticed that the pipes were corroded and changed that the fittings & pipes to the proper ones that resist corrosion. We had a previous company come take a look earlier in the week prior to Chambliss and was told that it may be a major overhaul and they quoted a high amount.

Chambliss was very honest in their estimate and explained what they were going to do and they had the parts to do the job in their truck. They were friendly and courteous and cleaned up after the job was done.

About a year ago, Roto Rooter came on an emergency call to stop a leak on another toilet and while here, they changed the flapper in the master bathroom toilet. The flapper worked for a while but then started flushing on its own again.

Husband replaced flapper with same results. Over the weekend, he tried once again, but the flush tube appeared to be cracked and the flushing became almost constant.

We read about Chambliss and since they are very close to us, we stopped by and scheduled an appointment. Kevin Chambliss came and fixed it with a 90 day warranty.

He also did a few checks and suggested some repairs that should be done. One was the pressure regulator - we knew we had borderline too high pressure from last year when we had another plumber check for leaks.

Most recently I had a big leak in a yard faucet I had them install in my front yard. The work cost a little over $500 and looked very make shift.

They had two steel stakes (different sizes) with very sharp edges sticking out of the ground and then taped the pipe to the stake. The tops of the stakes were very sharp and definitely a safety hazard and the pipe was not secure at all.

Again, this looked very "make shift" and not a professional job. Fast forward 1 year and there is water leaking all over the yard from this faucet.

I contacted Chambliss to see if this would be covered under any type of warranty and it is not. They told me they would send someone over to take a look at the job and no one ever showed up.

I just had another plumber go out and repair the job at a cost of $232 and plumber showed me that this was due to shotty work. very disappointed here I can't recommend this company enough! Fantastic service.

I had a recent issue that another plumber quoted me $500+ dollars for and it wasn't even a guaranteed fix. The contractor who work for my property Magee said they would probably need to do major work and it would be $500 if they temp fix didn't work.

I called Big City Plumbing and not only did they permanently fix the same issue, they found the same issue in another bathroom and fixed it all for $175. I attached the invoice as proof.

Luckily it was a minor fix on my end and they were honest about the problem without trying to up-sell anything. I've always gone with Big City because they are very honest and upfront.

We have been using big city now for at least 2 years.. and have always had a great experience!! The owner has even called me to make sure I was happy with everything.

replied five minutes later with a list of availability dates and times. He also provided a preliminary quote.

When I explained to Travis C. that I could not schedule an appointment by phone, he scheduled the appointment for me.

At 12:47 P.M., Travis C. confirmed my appointment for Monday, January 20, 2020 between 12:00 P.M.

and 2:00 P.M. On Monday, January 20, 2020 at 12:57 P.M., Tony and Josh arrived at my home.

Prior to beginning work, they wore disposable shoe covers. They also provided upfront pricing.

$295 for the following: (1) Haul away water heater. (2) Remove corrugated copper pipes and solder on male adapters for easy unthreading in the future.

(3) Remove cold-water supply shut off valve and solder on new lead-free copper-alloy ball valve (KITZ No. 858 600 WOG).

(4) Install stainless-steel connector (3/4 in. FIP x 3/4 in.

FIP x 24 in.). (5) Provide an extra stainless-steel connector for hot-water outlet.

(6) 90-day warranty that covers service and labor; however, "parts installed as part of the work by Big City Plumbing, LLC is covered by the manufactures warranty only. Customer shall have no recourse against Big City Plumbing, LLC for the defects in parts utilized." At 2:11 P.M., work and billing were done.

It has been three days since Tony and Josh were at my home; no defect in workmanship has been detected so far. I look forward to hiring Big City Plumbing again.

Homer and Josh were excellent! They were professional, knowledgeable and personable. I was told they'd arrive between 12 and 4.

They arrived at 12:35 and were finished installing a new toilet (and all cleaned up!) by 1:30. I purchased the toilet on my own and they quoted me an installation price of $165, including haul away.

That's exactly what I paid! They also took away the large box that my new toilet came in. I was very appreciative.

Our water heater broke on a Sunday evening. My husband searched Yelp for plumbers and saw the great reviews for Big City Plumbing.

He sent them an email that night with our problem. At 9am the next morning, they called to schedule an appointment for 10:30am the same day.

They were on time, polite, courteous, and fixed the problem quickly. We highly recommend Big City Plumbing! Had a sewage backup and put a request for repair through our warranty company but soonest anyone was willing to come out was 4 days away.

This most recently was made clear when we remodeled our bathroom and kitchen and the first contractor's plumber was a disaster. Calling BCP was the first really good move I mad on the projects.

Their team was responsive to all my needs even when the job was clearly extensive (we moved from an initial small shower to a monster walk in and relocated it to the other end of the bathroom). It was a massive project and they handled it with a grace and level of expertise that I have not found in any other plumber in San Antonio.

These guys really came through! It was late in the day, and still made it to install a water heater! Pretty badass job they did, and I have hot water for days now! Joey and James arrived wearing masks and foot coverings on their shoes. They worked on a couple issues in my restroom - a busted toilet flange and leaking shower plumbing that needed replacing.

Our back yard spicket and pool fill valve blew and was shooting out water. We called 14-15 plumbing companies (one of which we used all the time) and none could come within three weeks.

We called Big City Plumbing. They had a crew working in our neighborhood and said they would be right over as soon as they finished the job they were on.

An hour later they arrived and fixed/insulated the spicket and fill valve. Then they didn't gouge us on the cost like all of the other plumbing companies were doing.

I found them via Nextdoor recommendation and they have co e out twice to fix plumbing issues. This last time they out did any repair service I have ever had or imagined.

The men were professional and personable. I had a number of things I needed addressed and they took care of every single one on a timely manner.

In other words-they didn't milk the clock so they could charge me for more hours than needed. They explained what the issues were and how they were going to fix them-and verified with me that things were fixed before they left.

The customer support staff is on point as well. When you call you get a professional, pleasant person on the other end.

Not someone who seems annoyed that you called. They are willing to answer what you might think are dumb or annoying questions- and totally work with you to schedule a time that works with your schedule.

Obviously I don't wish for any future plumbing problems, but when they inevitably arise- there is. NO question who I am callin! I have used this company twice and both times I've been happy with the service.

Most recently this week I had them clear a sink and install a new faucet for me. I asked for pricing for each service and received a estimate.

When the crew was done I can say the price matched what I was told by phone. What was most impressive is that they adaptive to our new normal and upon making the appointment I was asked COVID questions to make sure their workers were safe and when they showed they had a mask and gloves and kept a good distance which was much appreciated.

It's stressful enough to have a stopped drain but to have it during COVID is double stress. Thank you all for easing that for me.

Appreciate the work they did unclogging bathroom sinks. It was an easy issue to fix but Luis and his partner( I can't recall his name) were efficient as well as professional.

This has happened before and other companies never offered an explanation I even think Big City charged less. Small but growing honest company.

Unprofessional, incorrect information given by operator on initial call. Didn't fix the issue with the first visit, had to come out again and wanted to charge an additional amount for something that was still broken.

Peter and his helper that came out today didn't even want to stay to try and help the issue while I was on the line with the operator trying to understand the wrong quote given on the phone. During which, the guys outside were in a hurry to leave and didn't want to wait while we sorted out the price details.

When Travis, the owner, called after the fact he said that the operator doesn't have the correct information because she isn't the technician. Hmm, but she is the front line of your company right? He wanted to argue and be unprofessional.

I understand it's Christmas Eve, people want to be home with their families but do not give out incorrect information to begin with, don't schedule your workers to work when the don't want to and don't argue with customers *after* the fact. I am well aware that "services aren't free" as Travis so *professionally* stated, but if the issue is still not working after they've attempted to fix the drain with a snake (even though we told them we already did that), a little ownership and good business ownership should at least be felt and offered try to help the situation and understand where the customer is coming from instead of arguing to try and keep their pride.

We recently had BCP come out to scope our lines during the inspection of our home and our realtor requested a quote on our behalf for the items found during the inspection as well as what was notated on our inspection report. We scheduled the appointment based off this correspondence and the assumption BCP had an understanding of the work that needed to be completed.

Upon their arrival, he seemed completed confused about what was supposed to be done and that his scope stated nothing about going under the home (which was called out in the report we provided). He stated taht he called the office and they claimed to have never received this information (our emails contradict this).

After wasting an hour I finally told the guy to leave since he had no idea what to do. When we notified them about the issues, Kristin responded stating that it was our fault and took no ownership of their deficiencies and inability to perform other than to offer us a 10% discount...This quote was used as part of our negotiations and now that it seems to have been inadequate we will end up paying more to have the required repairs completed.

You are more than welcome to contact me with an amicable solution, but don't post on here as though you are trying to resolve the issue when no steps are being made on your part Had a communication problem about an install.

If I could do the work myself I would but I cannot. That being said, I began using Big City Plumbing this last year at my residence and now, I am using them at my rental.

I like Homer, the best. He is friendly and answers all my important and silly questions.

I had a leaky shower faucet because the hot water knob wasn't sealed right. They replaced it and it worked fine for a bit, but the same thing happened.

They gave me about $100 discount for the previous work, applied it to the new work, and replaced the two knob system with a single knob. Works great thus far.

Small complaints. I think they could improve their service if they left itemized receipts of any parts they bought as well as the services provided.

Speaking of parts, if parts are required and they know that ahead of time, they should have let me know so I can go out and find a set I like so they can install it. When installing the single shower knob, they left dust everywhere from the tile drilling.

Obviously, I don't expect them to clean my whole bathroom, but at least the tub area where they were working. They also kept leaving and coming back because they "didn't have the right equipment".

I understand there are different models, but surely there are general tools you should expect to have especially when the issue was explained before setting the appointment, ie "oh, I'm working on installing [item], so I usually need these tools". It's just little things that added up.

I couldn't be more impressed Homer was thorough and was determined to find the issue versus finding a quick fix. Homer and Ty took great care in my home making sure to wear booties on themselves and there equipment even though I told them it wasn't necessary but they insisted.

They came out the same day and advised me that the toilet was clogged and one of two things needed to be done. The plumber called back to tell me he was unsuccessful but an invoice amount of $249 needed to be collected.

I have never had a company charge me more than a set trip fee when the problem wasn't resolved. I won't be using this company again.

Totally satisfied!! These guys are awesome! I needed to have a water softener we had bought installed so I requested several quotes. Travis responded immediately and was very reasonably priced.

I called 3 of the top 5 plumbers in the San Antonio area according to yelp and all gave me quotes over the phone for replacing a 40 gallon gas heater in the attic. Big City plumbing was $500 less than the number one rated plumber on Yelp (BG Plumbing) for the same brand heater.

In addition, they were extremely responsive on both email and the phone. The morning of the service call I received a text with a photo and resume of the plumber who would be doing the install as a well as a call letting me know he was on the way.

All the work was done extremely well and for exactly the amount quoted (even though it probably required a little more work than expected due to some issues with the original heater installation). Highly recommended! Travis provides great customer service and has a great team.

Today was an eventful day in the crazy sense!! After watching what looked like a river running from my front lawn and having to learn from circumstance how to shut off my water main I was able to identify the issue was "our" problem. A week ago, one side of a rental duplex property had a water leak. I had asked some friends I know for names and numbers of plumbers.

Got responses, called and no answer. Then I remembered about Big City Plumbing.

I knew the wife of the owner and had referred people to them before, but I had never personally used their service. So I called to see if the could come for an estimate.

They were booked solid for the day, but they said yes, they would fit me in. I called back 2 hours later and changed my call from an estimate to repair.

They said no problem. On a bay they are booked solid.

A hour goes by and I get a text from a number I am not familiar with. I open the text, it is a photo of Homer, from Big City Plumbing, he will be the plumber that will be coming to my address and will be there shortly.

That is amazing. especially since I have not used this company before, I am now aware of who the plumber is, what he looks like and a time frame.

In this day in age, that is above and beyond! Then he shows up, my father explains the situation, voices all his concerns and everything he wants looked at, fixed and checked. Homer does everything my father asked, was very professional, did not talk down to my father nor did he assume my father knew what he meant to say.

I have had Peter and Homer for the last water problem, today, when water was pouring from an broken outside pipe, Travis sent James Bridges and Mark to the rescue. These people are the best you can find! I have to give this company 5 stars.

Professional from the immediate call back, to the patience in answering my questions, to prompt scheduling, called 30 minutes out, arrived on time, efficiently and expertly installed my RO system, answered all my annoying questions, lived up to the quoted price, no problem, cleaned up when done, made sure I was happy and no more questions etc etc. This was just for the RO system, which I had already purchased from Amazon.

Good job, and thank you very much. We had a slab leak, and Big City Plumbing was recommended to us by another plumber who couldn't do such a big job.

The guys who came out were friendly and professional. They found the problem and stopped the leak very quickly.

They couldn't repair it until the next day, but they shut off the leaking pipe so we could still use most of our water over night. They fixed the problem today by rerouting through the attic.

The price was very reasonable, and it's guaranteed for a year. I will definitely be calling Big City Plumbing next time we have a plumbing issue (hopefully in the distant future!).

I had a leak in my front yard. The first plumber I called gave me the runaround for a week.

I then called Big City Plumbing. The plumber, Milo, arrived on time & even though he had to leave to get some additional tools, he came back & finished the job within a couple of hours.

All repairs seem to be holding up fine. I would recommend Big City Plumbing I requested an estimate and was told somebody would come out the next day.

They were supposed to call me, but that never happened. Travis called me the day after and apologized.

He scheduled someone to come out that day to meet me. Half an hour later no one showed up, I called Travis back and he said the guy would be there in a few minutes.

Half an hour later the guy finally showed up, an hour late. The guy, James, was extremely nice and knowledgably.

He said he would have a quote emailed to me on Monday. Never received a quote so I called James.

I was told to call the office and they would have it for me. I called the office and they said the quote was not ready and I would have it tomorrow.

Two days later and still no quote. Extremely disappointed.

I have had Big City Plumbing out several times. Travis has always sent someone out ASAP.

We live in a 1915 house which needs updating. Recently we were losing water pressure along with brown water.

Travis sent James out. James has totally improved our quality of life.

He checked all of our clogged faucet, repairing them. We finally have water pressure in our shower.

My dishwasher has never been as quiet. I couldn't be happier.

Such nice people! We had a dripping shower and Steve changed it plus noticed our faucet was splattering all over the place and just fixed it for nothing.

We also asked them to flush out our water heater which they did very quickly. Everything was at a very reasonable price.

I love how Steve took the time to explain to us what he was fixing and how to take care of it going forward. One thing I've learned is to always listen to my Dad! His recommendation was spot on! Great plumber.

I don't think other companies' techs would always do this. He was honest and fair and had me running in no time.

The guys came out and went through a series of steps to found the leak. The plumber explained things as he went along so that I knew what was going on in the process.

The leak ended up being in the wall. The plumber had an apprentice that he was training.

The plumber treated his apprentice with respect. It sounds like a weird thing to notice, but it speaks volumes about the character of the plumber.

The apprentice never did touch any of the plumbing.(FYI) The leak was fixed, and it was a pain to do it. The leak was in the main pipe right before it splits to provide water to the different areas in the house.

My house is older so the location of this leak took some serious maneuvering to get to it and fix it. The end result is that I would use them again if I had major plumbing issues.

This company was out on site the day I called them to get it fixed. The two gentlemen that cake were very respectful and got the job done.

Russell is a very knowledgeable plumber with lots of experience. He explained what they had to do to drain the old water heater, as it was 24yrs old.

Russell installed a new spigot at the bottom because the tank would not drain at first even under high pressure, as the old tank had a rock solid sediment block in the bottom of it. They did their work quickly and professionally.

They were a little messy and I recommend they wrap the bottom of the old water heater up before taking through the house to avoid spillage of rust dust. They should have their own shop vac too for cleanups.

Otherwise, great job, highly recommend these guys. Called the plumber explained the problem in detail twice to the plumber and to Gloria.

They quoted me a price of $189 for labor and parts. When the plumber got here, they said they didn't know the extent of the issue and quoted me another price of $312 just to shut the water off to the tub.

That's not even to fix the issue. After that they told us they would have to come back out to reconnect the water after another part was purchased to fix the issue.

So after paying them $312 to shut off the water, we called back to have the tub actually fixed with the new part (that only cost $49), they quoted us a price of $300. I asked them to put it in writing and send an email.

Gloria agreed to do that. So now we were willing to pay $600 for a $49 part and 45 minutes of work at the most.

Gloria then called me back 30 minutes later and said the price would now be $675!!! I asked why the change and she said because of labor!! So I kindly said no since we were already bamboozled out of $300 for something that wasn't even fixed. Be aware that they will quote you a price to fix something but really they are going to up that price once they arrive.

Make them put it in writing and you will get the true over priced amount they are going to charge you! These guys are scam artist and I would not recommend them to my worst enemy!!! We moved into a nightmare rental house, with a number of plumbing issues. Thankfully, the management company called 210 Plumber.
