Review and analyze now for company Mustang Plumbing and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''Robert from Mustang Plumbing came and repaired out shower valve. He did a great job and he has been to our house several other times for other projects and has always done a grea job.
Great man to have on the job. We are not the type of people that write a review without feeling the necessity to do it.
Because this is of interest to potential new clients, I feel it is imperative to write this review. To begin, the company sent a new and inexperienced technician, we had to tell technician to please call the main office to look at the notes from the previous technician since the issue that they took care of in the past arose again.
Our tankless heater is high on our property wall, so we provided a ladder. Technician never climbed the ladder, but suggested that in the future, we should hire them to move the tankless heater to a place that was easier for them to look at (in the past no one had complained about this).
It was clear the technician was being lazy and wanting to leave, but he did say we needed a flush and that the office would send a quote afterwards. When we first called Mustang Plumbing, they told us that the service fee would be $225 and that it would be credited if we decided to move forward with, whatever service the technician found that would be needed.
Mustang Plumbing quoted 600+ to flush the heater, but when my wife called, they conveniently said that they would only credit us half of the initial service fee - investigation fee. I personally replaced the showerhead and the issue was resolved.
My wife spoke to them and they were being rude. When she (Courtney) tried to triangulate the call, they had hung up.
I then called them directly and while I was speaking to them, the manager got on the line and basically told me that the only issue here is that we need to pay the service fee and that if we would've agreed to do the flush, we would've gotten 100% of the initial fee credited. I stopped her and let her know that that was not what her team had told us.
Her team had told my wife that only 50% credit. As I'm on the phone, she proceeds to start talking to multiple people around her and I can hear them trying to figure this out and what went wrong.
I offered her to pay only what was going to be credited and reminded her that the technician did not do anything and that he concluded we needed a service that wasn't even needed. I hung up the call and 10 minutes later they charge my card for $225 (the full service fee).
As a family that tries to make educated decisions and hire, trustworthy companies, this is not the type of company that should be hired for any service. They are not trustworthy, they are clearly not organized and do not communicate with each other.
They employ inexperienced people to service the community. Great and Fast serivce .
One day service over the top. Clean and efficient.
I highly recommend Mustang Plumbing We recently finished building a house and experienced delays at the very end. Come to find out, plumbers were no-showing for over two weeks to finish the job.
When they finally did show up, the wrong bathtub was being installed because the plumbing had been setup incorrectly at the front end of the build. The icing on the cake was the pool of urine that I found in my closet that afternoon when we went back to do our walk through with the builder.
These were the only two contractors on that side of the house that day, and the only incident of its kind that ever happened, yet they still denied it was them. Additional issues we had were: - a leaking mop sink in the garage - hot/cold install under our kitchen sink being swapped - cold water being connected to our dishwasher - rust stains from a shower install ruining grout Needless to say, go with another plumbing company if you get the choice! This company is who is contracted through our builder/new home for warranty issues.
We had a main water line leak that was their fault/issue and the person who came out to repair it told me that I was cutting into his evening right off the bat. He then told me that "these builders don't do a good job anymore" and make his job harder.
He dug where I pointed that the water was coming from, found the leak but didn't have the right tool to fix the leak. So he instructed me to turn on and off my water at the outside shutoff site (which was fine, I don't mind getting my hands dirty) but then he told me to call the "24-hour" number first thing in the morning to get someone else to come fix it...
I was puzzled by this because if a number is 24 hours, and you provide 24-hour service, wouldn't someone be able to come right then and help you out? and for context, it was only 7 at night, yes on a Friday and I get that that sucks but it was also 30 something degrees out and I was sticking my hand in a 12" hole filled with water to shut on and off my water to the house so we could shower and wash dishes. I understand that we are blessed enough to even have this issue and have running water but I just didn't understand why I was such a burden to this man.
You came, did half the job, complained the whole time, and then left all the while you made misogynistic and slightly racist remarks that were very offputting and far from professional. If I were a business owner for Mustang, I would be ashamed of the service that these technicians (or the one technician) provided.
Absolutely unsat company that cuts up framing jobs and sucks at making sure the lines are clear. Unbelievable!!! And this is on a $900k home.
If you are building, make sure Mustang ain't doing it. I don't know why I'm even writing this review when it's evident by all the other reviews that this company is complete garbage.
They do not stand by their work; their work is shoddy at best, and they take no accountability for their incompetence. The only reason I used them in the first place was because they were recommended by my builder, Gehan Homes.
Shame on me for listening to the builder when the quality of their work was also a joke. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else, as I can't believe anyone could be worse.
If a negative star rating is possible, that's how would I rate them. Rick was amazing and came out within 48 hours.
He got it fixed up, explained everything to me and was so amazingly kind! I appreciated that he was so informative and as a woman sometimes people dumb it down, but he was not like that at all. I have also called Mustang to just ask a couple questions about our new home and we have always had great customer service from the front.
Ashley was the most recent to help me out, but everyone at Mustang has been great to work with. Highly recommend! Do not use this scam of a company! I have a Rheem water heater with a 6 year manufacture warranty and they will only honor 2 years???? Be wary of this company as they obviously do not understand the concept of a warranty.
Absolutely terrible! So many issues with our plumbing since we've moved in and it's only been a month. They are never available and it's been very stressful.
Do no hire them!!!!! As was the experience with many others, we have a new construction home (Chesmar), and our builder used Mustang on the install. When our 2 year and 8 month old soaking tub started streaming water from the junction between the floor and caulk, it was pretty clear that the seal between the drain and pipe wasn't holding.
We don't hold raves in our tub or use it as a cooler for frat parties. It's used on rare occasion as intended.
Friends, I've lived in dozens of homes (none as new as this one), and this is the first time I've ever had a leaking tub. It's not a common problem...so I thought.
I posted on my neighborhood forum, and ours is not the only Chesmar home with Mustang install that has had this exact same issue. Not an isolated issue despite the fact that *leaking tubs in 2 year old homes are not normal.* Had it been 8 months ago, it would still be under warranty.
I get that. And, Mustang...you installed the tub, it's leaking, and the same tub you installed for our neighbor has the exact same problem.
Have integrity. Stand by your work, and fix it because that's the right thing to do.
The service manager on the phone, Bethany, talked over the top of me instead of listening and responding or seeking out solutions, repeating the same answer that she needed a credit card and that we were past 2 years and that she has to "be fair to all homeowners." Fair to all homeowners? On what planet would this be fair to all homeowners to not fix an issue that they are responsible for? Maybe on the planet where they've not been responsible to a whole slew of people, so it would be unfair to turn over a new leaf and be honest now. I asked if there was a scenario in which they would cover it; she said they would have to take a look and would need my credit card to do that.
I asked her to share with me (before I hand out the Visa digits) a scenario in which they would be likely to cover it...in other words, "Share an example of when y'all did the right thing." She simply repeated that she needed the credit card and that we were past 2 years. So I asked point blank, "So, if it's after 2 years would you ever cover anything?" Again with the credit card reply and then she said she had lots of people on the phone to talk to aside from me.
I asked to speak with her manager, and she said that he said that they would need a credit card. Wow.
Just be honest. If you have no intention of backing up your work, say so.
I would respect that more than you refusing to give an example of when your company did the right thing and holding my credit card hostage with a $225 service fee to "take a look." If you're gonna kick me in the pants, do it openly in the daylight so I can decide if I want a running head start instead of having me take off work to schedule a pants kicking and also take my money at the end of it. These folks worked hard to resolve a misunderstanding! I appreciate that! Thank you!! This company is the worst.
They were no-shows for three appointments--didn't even given us proper notice about the cancellations (they either told us after the appt window or I had to call in and ask). I wish we could use another company but we're stuck with them because they are the plumbers that our warranty company/builders have chosen.
WARNING!!!! DO NOT USE Well, our house is flooded on Turkey Day night. We contacted their 24 hour "help" line.
We informed Stephanie that our shower is full of water and water coming from the toilet and the floor is flooded. All bathrooms are out of commission.
In the end Stephanie said that her "computer notes" recommend for us to wait until morning time and call back for a POSSIBLE appointment. HAHAHA - What a joke.
Way to go Team Mustang!!!! Excellent customer service!! Your team should be very proud. Oh and by the way Mustang, this is a new house and Mustang installed all plumbing.
HIGHLY RECOMEND NOT TO USE THIS COMPANY, EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Theu came to do some warranty work on my home and showed up 5 hrs after there designated time the first time. The second time they didn't call until after there time line wasn't met, and they showed up again 5 hrs late.
I also got hung up on twice by there operators. When I spoke to the manager.
He didn't care about anything. He then proceeded to tell me that his work was all up to code, when he didn't have any information to go off of.
He also, said he would follow up, and surprise, surprise, he never did. And when I called back to get a hold of him.
He wouldn't answer his phone. Worst customer service I have ever had.
If they weren't doing my warranty work, I wouldn't use them. This is my plumber hired through DR Horton for my new build.
They gave me a shower rod that didn't fit my shower, scheduled to drop one off today, then last minute canceled and said it would be a few days later before they would drop it off. When I told them to just reimburse the builder and I would go get a new one, the lady screamed at me to "sue your builder then! Sue your builder!" Then they hung up on me.
When I called back to speak to someone in charge, they just left me on hold and didn't transfer me. Let's hope some of the other reviews are wrong about bad plumbing because I really don't want to ever deal with this company again.
This guy just tried to run me off the road. Going 85+ pulling a trailer billing people down 35 in a company truck.
This is the second time I have had a gentleman named Preston come out to service my home. He was very helpful, polite, and made sure to clean up after he finished the job.
He gave suggestions on how to prevent further plumbing issues. I am very thankful for honest plumbers.
They actually were the plumber for my builder in Mayfield Ranch Before the house closed I found a few issues with their work which they had to correct albeit fought with me about it until I mentioned I was a licensed plumber in Nevada then they changed their tone real fast Now we have a huge issue with freezing pipes and tankless water heaters bursting and they are out gouging people Luckily I don't need their services and I have helped some of my neighbors fix their stuff I hope they lose their license over this or at least get fined for gouging i tried to send this message privately on your website, but after multiple attempts, i was unable. i live in the neighborhood over off of cheyenne valley drive.
every morning i see mustang plumbing employees at the gas station next to the 45 toll, having taken over every pump. this morning in particular, there were multiple cars waiting for gas, and no one was at their truck- this has happened to me multiple times now.
i feel like it is worth letting someone know to simply ask your guys to move their trucks once they are complete pumping their gas; they are walking around, seeming to be completely unaware of their surroundings. thank you I drive down Red Bud daily about the same time these guys start their day in the morning.
Almost every day I see a a lot of their trucks with attached trailers peel down the rod that leads to their office onto Red Bud with no regard for safety of others or the speed limit. Yesterday I seen a guy cut a lady off in a VERY dangerous manner and then laughed and gave her the finger.
His truck number ended in 74. He was a young white male.
This lady had children in her vehicle. I see this behavior and disregard for safety quite a bit from them and am just disgusted how a so-called professional company just allows this?? I took half a day off from work to meet them at my house for an estimate for installing a water softener.
Waited 2 hours for a tech to show up and tell me, "Oh, sorry. We're not doing any new installations right now.
We're too busy doing warranty work for jobs we've already done. Girls in the office should have told you that".
They didn't. I was very clear about why I was calling and what I wanted an estimate for.
My Builder used Mustang Plumbing to do the plumbing for my new built. The plumbing was done wrong and they had to jack hammer the foundation, while they jack hammered it they broke the tension cable.
Didn't even disclose it, I found out that was done when a neighbor showed me pictures after we closed on the house. During the freeze my tank less water heater busted and I know that wasn't their fault but I got a lot of water damage because when they installed the water heater they clogged the drain pipe and they left it like that so the water overflowed from the attic down to the 2nd and 1st floor and they won't take any responsibility and said it was due to weather.
This water heater is less than 6 months old and they don't want to warranty it but wanted to charge me $400 just to come out and tell me that is broken and not even deduct that charge on a new tank less water heater. She said that is the fee for them to come out and just tell me it's broken.
I would highly recommend not using this company as they have caused a lot of damage on my new home. Builder used them for installation of tankless hot water heater.
Forced to use them to maintain warranty on plumbing. Had them come out to repair - could not repair as they don't stock parts for systems they actually support.
Had to install new heater. Quoted me $2300 - just had them out and the exact Heating unit at Home Depot is $1050.
They charged me $2300 for less than an hour install and the cost of the heater. Total rip off - won't be using them ever again.
After calling for three days the lady at the plumbing was very apologetic. She had an excuse each time that they failed to show up.
But the next day- they still did not show up and no phone call. What a joke.
Our house was plumbed by Mustang when it was built in 2013. We have an issue with a faucet so I called them to see if they can take a look.
I see their trucks in here often so I assumed they would have a flat rate to take a look at an install they did. "Sorry, you're out of your 2 year builder's warranty, but we can schedule you at $199 for the first hour and $150 per hour plus parts" Wow thanks for your willingness to simply check on a problem that you installed.
This outfit is absolutely pitiful. Upon missing their scheduled appointment, I had to make 3 calls to get to their service "manager" who then advised me that their service technician said I rejected their service.
Not true, as he had me sign their price quote. I told the service "manager" this and he repeated that I didn't like their pricing and refused the service.
He then said he could get me on the schedule for later in the week - oh, and any warranty issue I had would have to be between me and Rheem, despite the service tech saying they would work with Rheem since they installed the unit during initial construction of my home. Long story short, mustang plumbing is overpriced and horrible customer Service.
If you have any option at all, don't do any business with mustang plumbing. Mustang Plumbing was referred to us by our builder to install a faucet to insure it would be covered by warranty.
We paid $195 to have it installed which took the installer less than 30 minutes. We had paid for a premium faucet.
Within two weeks the faucet began leaking. We had them come out and repair the leak.
They did so at no charge, however, the technician made the leak significantly worse. We called them back- the scheduled another appointment but failed to disclose that we would now be charged to repair their poor workmanship.
The technician came out- told us there was nothing he could do and charged us $195 dollars. This was never disclosed.
Had we known this we would have just purchased a new faucet and just had him install while he was here since we had to pay for a minimum of an hour. This is such poor customer service and business practice.
We will never work with them again. Spoke to Amanda.
Used by Coventry Homers to install plumbing in my house. First, their plumber installed the Garbage Disposal on the wrong side of the sink.
When called them to come and fix it, they quoted me a price. It appears that they did this deliberately to take advantage of the customer.
Instead of fixing their mistake they charge the customer. What a rip-off! Stay away from them.
I will also give negative review to the builder for using them. I was put in touch with Mustang through my home builder's warranty.
The plumber I dealt with directly seemed knowledgeable and seemed to care about my plumbing problem. His name was Jacob.
I would ask for him specifically in the future if a need comes up. His rating would be 5 stars! The company as a whole was a little less cooperative until the builder's rep got involve.
Their rating would be 2 stars. Ask for Jacob! Brand new $700K house.
The garbage disposal sounds like there is something in it. 3-months later, Mustang Plumbing was supposed to come replace the disposal.
My window was from noon-5:00 pm. I waited all day.
At 4:30, I found a hangtag on the door from "Joe" saying....sorry I missed you. Call for another appointment.
Well, I called them but didn't make another appointment, I demanded they send someone out NOW! At 4:45, they called and said someone was on their way and was 30 minutes out. Well.....he finally showed up at 5:45.
Want to know what was in the disposal? The knock-out plug was never removed from inside the disposal on installation. So, every time I turned it on, it was flying around in there and sounded terrible.
It took 30 seconds for the repair. Besides the fact that a 5-hour window is ridiculous, the fact that moron was here and was at the door but never rang the bell to attempt the repair is unforgivable.
As long as this house is under warranty, I'll be stuck with that terrible service but I will never call them when it's my choice. We had an appointment for Wally at Mustang to come back to our condo yesterday afternoon.
We confirmed with Mustang in the mid-afternoon. Wally never showed and never called.
At 5 p.m. the answering service took over.
It had no way to get in touch with Wally, any other plumber at Mustang, or Mustang management and said it would be after the weekend before we hear from anyone. We are trying to find another plumber this morning because Wally's disappearance and failure to complete the job is impacting our tile project today Oh ...
and Wally damaged the dry wall in the guest bedroom on the other side of the shower head. We still have an open ticket with Mustang for future work.
We'll find another plumber, thank you. Stay away from Mustang.
Poor, poor service. I've had them come to my house several times, resulting in nothing done.
I actually just got off the phone with one of their service reps, Terry, who was one of the most hostile customer service reps I've ever encountered. I asked to speak to a manager and he was mocking me, laughing to his co-workers saying "this lady is hostile", and did not let me speak.
I really hope his manager Tim calls me back. If I didn't have to work with them due to our builder I would not.
There are plenty of other plumbers out there. For being a small business, you'd think they'd care about their work and customer service.
They're just leaving more room for better companies to service residents. They are horrible they price gouged customers after the winter storm.
They charged $400 a hour and the same thereafter and then on Monday they lowered their price to $175 per hour...., talk about taking advantage of the situation and not helping out people that needed someone to help with their damages, I hope they sleep well at night for what they did. SHAME ON YOU!!! Be mindful Karma is a B@&$h! I call, tell them where the leak is over the phone (water softener).
They tell me $400. Okay sure I'll do it I haven't had water in 5 days.
Within 30 seconds of arrival, the plumber said nothing he can do with leaky pipe leading to water softener. Can you bypass I ask? Nope...
he leaves I call office. They still try to charge $400.
I get literally yelled at by there "service manager" while I'm trying to come up with a fair solution for everyone's time. In the end they didn't charge me for 2 min of "work?" Called a unlicensed handyman fixed the problem for $300.
Called water softener repair they are coming about for more permanent fix on a Sunday. There call charge $100.
Don't use mustang even if you are desperate right now. There is a reason they are the only plumbers that have availability.
JG was a good guy who knew what he was doing - quick and efficient. But ask the service managers anything else that you didn't know was required before you called them, they need your credit card first! I had two related works on my water heater which broke down.
One which was a recirculating pump that sat on the heater and the heater itself that was leaking. Both needed to be replaced.
The job to change the heater was done quickly and well. However they need a separate charge to replace (change) the pump that was anyway removed & reinstalled as part of the process .
Reason was because it was not part of initial request. Interesting folks that don't value customers or their satisfaction.
By the way, these are the same guys that installed both these units in my home 5 years ago! Don't call them unless you are familiar with what all you need. I agree with the comments on hostile, unhelpful, won't respond until you go through the home builder etc.
Updated: I didn't know that was also broken, else would have certainly added that in the service order I couldn't have asked for better service. I had water leaking from the upstairs bathroom into my downstairs closet.
They came out within hours and fixed the problem. More than that, they did it quickly and for far less than I expected.
The plumber (sorry I don't remember his name) came in and quickly figured out what the problem was. He explained what he needed to do and fixed the problem.
I will definitely call this group for any plumbing needs going forward! We had two separate issues and when we had mustang plumbers come out and "fix" the problem they made it worse. Curtis, the customer service manager, is rude! Called him Tuesday, left a voicemail and didn't call me back until Friday.
He claimed he was out of the office all week but spoke to my husband that Tuesday. He has no customer service, is unapologetic or sympathetic.
The lack of professionalism from a manger is unbelievable. Been trying to reach someone from Mustang Plumbing to get a simple quotation for over 3 weeks now.
I've left at least 3 voicemails throughout that time. Why can't they understand that returning customers phone calls is the least they can do to prevent reviews from being posted online? Be professional ya'll.
You're operating a business. they suck cant get stuff fixed despite numerous calls they suck cant get stuff fixed despite numerous calls they suck cant get stuff fixed despite numerous calls Very mixed experience with Mustang.
Staff was pretty courteous and arrived when they said they would. I was a bit surprised at how high the estimate was for the work they were going to do on my remodel, but I figured if they did a good job it would be money well spent.
They completed half the work and told me they couldn't complete the rest - one fixture was inaccessible and another needed to be replaced. After they left I noticed they had damaged my new countertop.
I paid someone else to repair the countertop and my handyman installed the fixtures, including the one they said was inaccessible. I appreciate their courtesy, but not really worth the money.
I have no experience with this company's plumbing prowess; however, I CAN tell you that my first interaction with them was most unpleasant. I have been having water pressure problems for months and my property management company hired them to come out and inspect the problem.
I went home for lunch and saw them working and asked whether or not they had found the problem. Their reply: "There's no problem.
In fact, you have too much pressure." I replied by telling him that the water pressure problems only happen during peak water usage times and that there was indeed a problem--a serious one. That's when he bowed up to me and told me in a very aggressive tone: "I've been f*ing" doing this for a long time, and I know what I'm f*ing doing, buddy." At this point, I walked away.
I HIGHLY suggest you do the same. If this company thinks this is someone worth representing them, I can only imagine how else they run the rest of their business.
Weather conditions aside, this has to do with me paying Mustang Plumbing $4,000 to put in a tankless water heater in our attic, and how inaccessible they were when we needed them. This past Tuesday, the heater burst.
Water poured through the attic, my master closet (ruining clothes, etc,), and into my downstairs living room--three stories!! After calling the Fire Department to cut off the water, I placed my first of a series of desperate phone calls to their answering service. I finally got a supervisor who personally relayed my plight to Mustang Plumbing.
She called me back to tell me that she talked to someone and they would contact me. I waited and waited.
In the meantime, I called PipeOutfitters in Taylor. Not only did I speak to a most polite and sympathetic person, I set up a service call for this Sunday.
She also had a tech walk my husband through the shut-off process. Later that afternoon, the tech followed up to see if we were ok, and I didn't have to pay them $4,000!!! It took Mustang Plumbing THREE DAYS to call me back!!--completely UNSYMPATHETIC, my plight meant nothing but $$--the more damage my home sustained, the more he could gouge me; AND they wanted to charge my credit card $400 BEFORE they would even put me on their schedule!! All I wanted was FIVE MINUTES of their time to SAVE MY HOME!!! I DON'T recommend them to ANYONE.
Mustang was the Service Provider for an Old Republic home warranty request. They were on-time, courteous, and did good work.
I also needed repairs on two hose bibs that were not covered by the warranty, and Mustang was able to replace one of them for a reasonable price. Replacing the other hose bib would have required dismantling the siding, so I decided against that work.
The plumber gave me a recommendation for how to fix the problem myself, and described the part at Home Depot that would resolve the problem. Very disappointed with this company.
My house was remodeled a year ago. There is an obvious leak in the master bath that has damaged wall and trim on our closet adjacent to the plumbing.
Plumber onsite thought it was due to water run off and said we should watch it and see if it got worse. I am not sure what constitutes worse in his mind considering this was not like this 1 year ago.
Its pretty obvious this isn't run off considering nothing in between is damaged. I don't want anyone working on my house that's in it for the quick money which is what I felt this company was after.
was charged 150$ for 20 minutes of advice to watch the leak stating he didn't want to open the walls. Convenient it was at the end of day and he was still getting paid.
Felt as though it was really poor business practice to charge someone with no work being completed. Much less ask for 150$ for 20 minutes.
I will definitely use another company for this repair. No way mustang will enter my house again.
Do yourself a favor and do the same. 3/24/16 had another plumbing company come out and they removed the trim piece for the valve in the shower and spotted a leak immediately.
Still have yet to receive a call back from the service manager at mustang plumbing. Other leak was fixed by the company that came out today in 5 minutes.
Mustang needs some serious quality control. This is the first review i have ever written and I have had some bad service.
This was the worst. AVOID.
Wow, these guys are extremely rude and unprofessional. Said they would be at my apartment between 12-5pm which is a very generous window of time.
They didn't arrive until 5:45 after I called them twice. They didn't bother to call me and explain they wouldn't be on time.
When they did finally arrive the guy who performed the "work" was rude and condescending. I'm a college student and he must have seen the books I had laying around and he started telling me my major was pointless because I wouldn't make any money and how he made lots of money being a plumber.
He then accused me of using too much toilet paper before he even did any work. All of this is a very rude condescending tone.
I was alone in my apartment and he made me feel very uncomfortable. All he did was unclog the toilet with a snake device but he didn't actually diagnose the real underlying problem, which was not too much toilet paper because as I told him I don't put toilet paper in the toilet anymore because it clogs up every single time.
So he basically came into my home, was rude and insulting, unclogged the toilet but did not bother to do any real work or effort to find out what was really happening and charged $200.00. What a complete joke.
We called a different plumber, Ski's Plumbing who did an excellent job and actually figured out the real problem why the toilet was chronically clogging up. Avoid Mustang Plumbing, they reek.
ERIC at Mustang Plumbing is OUTSTANDING Highly recommend Eric Great job honest excellent work... My new go to guy They came to fix my furnace and ended up bending a connection to make it temporarily work.
When I called them to fix it for real they no longer worker on furnaces. They refused to refund my Home warranty fee even though Jimmy said they would.
The BBB took my complaint but nothing ever came of it. These people are incompetent liars avoid them at all costs.
I'm was having water pressure issues at the house, so I called them. Last year they came out to fix some in warranty findings from an inspector.
One issue was a fitting on the water heater. The second issue was water pressure.
The plumber argued with me saying the fitting was fine and the inspector was wrong. He said he would need to check with her supervisor.
Apparently the supervisor advised him to make the change as the inspector noted. He then advised he corrected the water pressure.
I schedule them last week to check the pressure today and advised it had been an issue previously noted and supposedly addressed by Mustang. He called back today to confirm they were on the way and it would be COD.
I asked why this wasn't disclosed when we scheduled the appointment. He said that's what I'm doing now.
I asked him his minimum charge he said $190 an hour. I asked if that was comparable to his competitors.
He advised yes they just recently had to raise prices to keep up. He said we're a business we need to make money.
I replied with a you're a business that tends to act unprofessional. He said he would cancel the appointment and hung up.
I then called two local plumbing shops. One wanted $125 an hour and the other wanted $150 an hour.
Overpriced, unethical and unprofessional ... poor combo for Mustang.
I just bought a new home and had a few problems with drainage, a sink and hot and cold being on the wrong side. I called Mustang Plumbing per our contractor's instruction and they sent me Richard.
He was quick, professional, very friendly and fixed everything. I could not have been more pleased! Thank you! My home warranty company sent Mustang out to us to repair a leaking water heater.
They diagnosed the problem and said the whole heater had to be replaced. This is a huge repair bill and when they called it in to the home warranty company for authorization, they balked.
They would have approved it, I think, but they needed an itemized estimate of the repair faxed to them before they would do so. Repeated calls by both myself and the warranty company to Mustang in order to get this itemized repair estimate were fruitless...
they had gone completely MIA. By the time the evening had rolled around, no one at Mustang was answering the phones, even on the emergency line, and my warranty company couldn't find anyone else in their vendor list to come out and do the repair.
We had been without hot water for two days at this point ... with an infant in the house, and a huge chunk of his bedroom ceiling destroyed due to moisture from the leak, this was not a fun time for us.
I finally ended up calling my own plumber, who came out and said only the heating element had to be replaced, and it was under warranty. This dramatically reduced the bill and the home warranty company approved it immediately.
If this had been done initially, I could have contacted the manufacturer and had them send a replacement part. Our family ended up having to wait until the following week, with no hot water, before I could arrange for the part to be installed.
Mustang went MIA at our time of greatest need, and our family was without hot water for several more days than we needed to be. I would not recommend them.
Home Warranty of America sent Mustang out to clear a stoppage/clog. Charged $132 not covered by HWA to remove and re-seat a toilet.
He snaked through the toilet 150 feet and didn't clear the stoppage. We were told he needed a camera to do go down the pipe to investigate but HWA wouldn't approve that or anymore further work.
Next day, I called The Plumbinator out of Round Rock. They sent 2 plumbers and within 2 hours they had the stoppage cleared out.
I think Mustang could of done a better job. The $120 an hr quoted to me for them to continue work the following day was ridiculous.
That's not including $238 to use a camera if needed. I have had experiences with Mustang 2 different houses I have owned.
While each plumber that comes out to service a warranty issue is nice, the fact that the original infrastructure was installed wrong (in both cases!) doesn't really make for a good plumbing company. It often takes a few years before some pipe and installation issues come to light.
The older your house is, the more difficult it is to get them to correct the obvious problem (not repairs- installation issues!). Because of our last 2 house issues with Mustang, we will not buy another home if they are the sub-contractors.
Could not fix a toilet. First guy attached wrong parts (rubber orange).
Wrong quote on phone. Second guy took off first guy's parts and added other parts.
My husband had to fix the toilet. It is a TOILET, not the pipes behind the wall.
Think toilet repair kit from hardware store. Mustang did in the end take off the extra charge so I paid only for the quoted price.
I noticed a leak and was referred to Mustang by a friend. The customer service over the phone was awesome.
Very friendly and helpful. The plumber that came by was a different story.
He didn't introduce himself, didn't shake my hand, and avoided all eye contact. He just said something like "um..you called a plumber?" Which seemed pretty obvious as he is a plumber, had my address, and was at my home...
I felt weird inviting him in but had no choice. He wasn't able to do the work that day and I won't be calling back.
Never had a service call like this before and not interested in having another. These people show up great but you have to call them over and over to repair work they should have done right the first time.

On 4-17-17 I was merging onto 183A toll road and was nearly hit by a Mustang Plumbing truck. My merge lane was ending and he did not slow down at all and sat no more than a foot from the rear of my car and stayed there.
My understanding is it's the law to allow merging vehicles to enter a freeway. When I exited I noted the logo on the side of his truck and I did not want to let them get away with this.
Unfortunately I did not get the license plate or a vehicle number. I don;t know if there is more than one Mustang Plumbing but I did search and did not find one.
Inexcusable for a company vehicle to conduct themselves in such a way. I guess I got lucky considering the other reviews on here.
I was put in touch with Mustang Plumbing through my home warranty company, after the first plumber they gave me did a craptastic job which needed to be corrected. These guys got me set up the day after I called them, they were on time, and they did everything correctly.
Even went so far as to call the warranty company on my behalf to see if some other things were covered that I was planning to take care of myself. They weren't, but I appreciated the effort as I like to spend my Friday nights on the couch watching bad TV rather than working on plumbing nonsense.
Our master bath toilet was leaking from the bottom. Our Home Shield Warranty folks had Mustang come out and give us an estimate ($75 bucks to just show up - non refundable).
The Mustang technician said the toilet was never installed properly and it was going to cost $900.00 to fix. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Mustang Technician's Notes: "Pulled toilet & found offset not set properly, flange is not straight.
Will have to bust out tile and concrete to insert new flange". Total B.S.!! - We've never had any issues with this toilet (over 6 years) All that the toilet needed was a new wax bowl ring.
My next door neighbor is a home builder, his plumber came over and fixed it in 45 min for $140 bucks (parts, labor, tax included). Do not call these scam artists.
Period. I was assigned to Mustang Plumbing through our home warranty when we called in a claim about our hot water heater leaking.
When I called about an hour later to make sure they had the claim info, the person on the phone was polite and helpful and set up the appointment for later that day. The guy that came out was very nice & professional and explained everything to me, even though I clearly know nothing about hot water heaters.
He called the warranty folks and got the approval while there, then left to get the hot water heater and had it installed by the end of the day. I would call them again for any plumbing issue, regardless of whether or not it was covered by my warranty.
Mustang Plumbing is my primary contractor for most any plumbing issue. I have been requesting them for over 2 years now.
The office folks are courteous and professional. Their service techs arrive on time and get the job done.
They usually schedue me for same day service. Recently I had an issue that required pulling permits, etc, etc with the city and they were spot on in getting the job done.
I know that I can always count on them to take care of my clients and my business in a professional manner. They are fast, efficient, and courteous.
Thanks Mustang Plumbing you are awesome! Sitting on my patio on day I watched in shock as water started pouring out from the bottom of the kitchen wall. The pipe had broken in the wall and water was coming down the wall and out of the bottom of the foundation.
I knew it had to be repaired but I am a widow and always afraid of being ripped off. I called Mustang Plumbing and was pleasantly surprised when they came out, repaired the pipe and the wall and were more than fair with me.
I would highly reccommend them as a plumbing company that can be trusted to do a great job at a great price Just had 2 water heaters replaced by Eric at Mustang Plumbing in Round Rock. He came out and gave us a quote a couple of months ago and we just called him back a few days ago to install the water heaters.
When he came out to give us the quote, he didn't try to oversell on anything we didn't need. He actually asked questions, gave us pros and cons on different types (tankless, etc), and helped us to decide which worked best for the use by our family.
The water heaters are in our attic and it took them about 3 1/2 hours from he drove up til the time they left. They were also extra careful being mindful of the wood floors that had just been installed the day before.
Best of all, we felt like received an education about hot water heaters. We did our research after the initial quote and decided to go with Mustang because they strongly recommend Rheem, have great customer service, they were recommended by a friend, and because there was no doubt that Eric knew everything possible about water heaters.
We had Mustang completely redo the plumbing for a 1977 house that we remodeled. They did a great job and even came back out for some minor follow up.
Everything was efficient and in order. We were very pleased and would use them again We had an issue with one of our tankless water heaters and they were out quickly to take a look.Turns out someone had left the propane conversion units in the water heaters but the builder never got Mustang out to get them installed and luckily nothing bad happened.
The manufacturer indicated this was a very, very bad thing. Mustang took the responsibility for the issue and replaced the two units as there would likely have been issues with them after 2 years of running propane instead on natural gas.
Nice of them to step up when it was likely the builder's problem that was the cause of the issue and they could have started the finger pointing game instead. Thanks for doing the right thing! I remodel houses and have used many different plumbers in town over the years.
I am currently using Mustang plumbing for my remodel and am VERY happy with them. It is a 60's house and it turned out to be a very big job (once I got into it of course).
We found out that the drain line in the kitchen sink had broken (in the slab) and that the whole sewer line needed replacement (this is after I had them there doing lots of other work). Their prices were fair considering all the work to be done and most importantly I know they do it right.
I am so happy to have found them and will continue to use them and refer them business. BTW had I called them first to diagnose the house (and not a different plumber), Mustang would have diagnosed the issues we found upfront.
Talk to Jimmy for the bigger projects and Julia for the smaller stuff fyi. Go somewhere else! There are plenty of other plumbers to choose from! I only used Mustang because my builder used them for our plumbing when building our house.
Today I called to have them check a pipe outside that I thought was done by them. The plumber who came to my house was very nice.
That was the one plus. He looked at the pipe outside and immediately told me he couldn't fix it and that it needed to be repaired by the company who installed our sprinkler system.
He was at my house less than 5 minutes. He said he was going to make a phone call as he didn't do anything at your house.
(meaning....why should I charge you when I didn't do anything) Well, he came back 5 minutes later and told me he did have to charge me. His superior wouldn't let him go without a service charge.
I got the feeling the plumber didn't agree with charging me. $77 later!!! He even said that he gave me a discount.
I would hate to know what the actual service call would have been if he DID fix something. I do realize they drove to my house which equals time and gas, but $77 for 5 minutes to do NOTHING!! I don't think that sounds reasonable at all.
NO thank you They have come out to my house three times in the past 6 months. First time, great guy shows up, did a great job and fixed the water heaters.
Oddly enough, due to a severe rain storm, water had leaked into the fans from the roof. It took hime a little over an hour to fix and I was happy.
$270 for that repair. A couple of weeks ago, water heaters acting up again.
Called and a great guy shows up, realizes that the vapor sensor on main water heater went out. He informed me that they didn't have the part in stock and it would have to be ordered.
Charged me $195 to diagnose that problem. He also informed me that since they didn't have the part on hand, that I would not be charged for an additional service call and only for the part.
I called them today, they had the part... could have someone come this afternoon.
YAY. I thought.
It took him 5 minutes to install the part and then hand me a $232.88 bill. I told him that the previous guy told me there would be no charge for the service call and only for the part.
He called office and they determined that they would never not charge the service fee. Gave me a $100 discount...
Have spent $600 in hot water heater repairs with these guys and enjoyed working with them, but that all changed today. I'm a little old school, and feel that when you tell someone there won't be a charge, then it needs to be honored.
I understand that they couldn't get ahold of the original tech that told me that, but the rudeness in how it was handled, really disappointing. they gave us two different prices, came out and doubled the price.
Don't go to Mustang Plumbing!!!! They have their own form of bait and switch!!! And they put the original water tanks in my home!!! Mustang Plumbing was the installer for our homebuilder so we didn't have a choice. Installation of our water heater had kinked copper piping which resulted in corrosion and a leak springing from the kinked piece of the pipe.
Also, the pipe closest to the wall was poorly soldered and another leak/drip developed there. Of course the damage only became clear after the warranty expired, but the shoddy work caused the damage.
Basic plumbing info emphasizes care when working with copper piping and also how to properly solder pipes. Whoever represented Mustang Plumbing for the installation at these new homes should've been more knowledgeable or better-supervised.
Very disappointed. Stay away from these guys if possible.
They came out to diagnose a drain issue and busted put some rock outside and cut a hole in the drywall inside of my home. When they found out that it wasn't a drain issue they just left the holes for me to repair.
No one will return my calls. Very bad service and will end up costing me a lot of money because of their incompetence.
Worst plumbing experience I have ever had. Mustang is both incompetent, and they won't even man up return calls or emails.
Mustang cut a condensation line from my AC that is inside a wall when they were relocating a faucet. They never reattached the line nor did they tell anyone they cut my line.
For weeks water has been running INSIDE MY WALL. There is thousands of dollars of damage.
A crew is currently pulling out wall, insulation, cabinet, mirror, and closet built ins, etc. This company is a bunch of crooks.
BEWARE!!!! I called my home warranty company late on a Sunday evening and they sent Mustang Plumbing out the next day to repair my garbage disposal which had exploded. They called me first thing in the morning on Monday and had someone at my house in 30 minutes.
He brought a replacement unit and took care of it for me in about 45 minutes. He seemed knowledgeable and so far I haven't had any problems but I rarely use the thing since I dont cook.
My only complaint was that the guy smelled like somke but I really dont care too much since he did a good job. My work order from a home warranty service was assigned to Mustang Plumbing three weeks ago.
Technician came out and identified that my sump pump was not working. He took the pump specification, and never followed up.
I've been calling Mustang regularly asking for an update, but the receptionist either didn't know or didn't call me back. I finally learn today that the warranty service did not cover sump pumps, so they couldn't proceed with the work.
Would have been nice to know that--I would have gladly paid for the pump myself to get this fixed. I'll do that now, but not with Mustang.
Awesome service and Jack was great. Recommend to anyone wanting great, friendly and prompt service.
simple new kitchen faucet install. mustang did the installation.
10 min's later, new faucet was leaking. they came back to fix the leak.
2 hrs after the "fix", faucet was leaking again. mustang balked about coming out again to fix the leak, arguing that the cause of the leak is a bad faucet.
i had my doubts about that, so i called another service instead (austin area plumbing). these guys *did* fix the leak, saying that the original installation was pathetic.
faucet has not leaked one drop since austin area fixed it. will never call mustang plumbing.
Jack did a fine job of getting my water heater to restart. Turned out to be a bad excessive flow valve (EFV) that shuts down if the flow is too great.
The problem is that I wasn't told there would be a service charge and I was left to assume it was still covered by our home warranty as they plumbed the entire house. I was charged $147 to remove a defective part that I was told wasn't even needed.
15 minutes worth of work, that is almost $600/hr. I'll never call Mustang again and I'll be sure to tell my neighbors to not call them either.'''.
