I went to Lowes and paid $10 for an attachment to the faucet that solves the problem. Used them a few times now both the father and son have been out and they have been great.

When I called David's Plumbing the owner knew exactly what I was talking about, could explain what was wrong with the water heater cold water inlet valve, and describe what needed to be done to repair the problem including the changes in the plumbing code. My issue was that I replaced myself a thermocoupler on my gas water heater and had some concerns regarding the installation.

I've called numerous plumbing services and all had a consultation fees except David which was free. He gave me some good advice and pointer hints regarding my thermocoupler installation which made me feel safe and comfortable about my work.

Basically, I just needed a pro to double check the work I did , and all services offered range from $200 to $600 just to have a tech person to stop by which the work itself was done already.
