The outdoor faucet that I paid to have him fix started leaking again after about a year. I called about them fixing it but they said they only warranty for 1 year.
He said I could pay him to come out to fix it again but I asked why I would pay the same person to fix it twice when it should have been fixed correctly the first time, and he said "perhaps you should call another plumber" and hung up on me. Only question I have for plumbers reading reviews...did they give me a fair price, as I dont know...hear are before and after...all plumbers and experienced, please feel free to give honest comment on value of cost:work done....see pics for $821 It was a Saturday morning. I decided to perform a quick fix of our bathtub faucet with a malfunctioning diverter.
The result was a functioning shower but a faucet that constantly had water flowing out of it. A few YouTube videos later I felt confident trying to twist off the faucet using some plumbing pliers.
As the faucet made its first 180 degree turn I could see the copper pipe that fed into the faucet. It was turning into the pretzel.
The faucet threads were seized on the pipe and now the pipe was ruined. After letting my wife know that I had failed and we would need to call a plumber I found Garrett Plumbing on yelp and gave them a call.
Dave answered the phone and requested that I send him some photos of the issue as well as pictures of what was behind the shower wall. He informed me over the phone that most likely, to fix the issue a hole would need to be made in the wall behind our shower so that they could access the pipe leading into the faucet and replace both the pipe and faucet.
Queue panic moment number 2. My first panic was realizing I had completely ruined the copper pipe in the wall.
Now I was going to need a hole in my living room wall to access the shower plumbing. Now I'm no contractor but I somewhat know my way around tools.
I was secretly looking forward to learning to repair drywall but my wife was pretty anxious about my $30 quick-fix turning into a nightmare for our bank account. Dave texted me and told me that his associate Bob would be heading to our house to fix the issue.
When Bob got there he immediately saw the issue and said "oh, that's not good", which is never what you want to hear a professional say. He took some measurements and brought out the reciprocating saw and started cutting things off and making a hole in our wall.
After not much time he had a new pipe welded on and a new faucet installed and sealed. But the hole in the wall remained.
But Bob was super cool and gave me some tips on how to reuse the section of wall that was removed and patch it all up. I followed his advice and you can't see where the hole in our living room wall was and most importantly.
We have a new faucet on our tub that functions properly! It definitely wasn't as cheap to have a professional plumber come out as it would have been had I been able to replace the faucet myself. But I feel good knowing the job was done right and water won't be leaking in my wall or some other catastrophic problem that could have resulted from me trying to find a cheaper way to fix it myself.
Dave and Bob of Garrett plumbing were great and fast. Dave texted me several more times after Bob had left to ensure everything was still working properly.
And helped me readjust the faucet after I had to screw a plate on our water foe handle (which pushed the faucet out a bit and broke the caulking seal). Definitely give Dave a call if you can.

These guys are great. They were scheduled to be on site between 8:00 and 10:00 and they were here about 10 minutes before 8:00.
They had the work completed in about 30 minutes. Its been a few weeks and there are no issues.
I would use them again. In November 2013, our water heater developed a leak.
The warranty was for 5 years, but the company stated that the warranty began " when we deliver it to the contractor, NOT when you buy your home." So, we call Garrett for help. He showed up very quickly and shrugged his shoulders and said most water heaters are the same.
Advised that we buy a 5 yr warranty replacement. Thats what we did.
And surprise we ended up with the same company as before. When I voiced surprise, Garrett explained that this way there was less for him to do to get me up and running.
So after cutting two pipes he was able to install the water heater in less than an hour (still cost $278) labor. Final chapter of the story, some of the pipes he removed are dripping.
Again he came out quickly and gave me an estimate of $280 (parts and labor). As a retired physician, I understand pricing factors and overhead costs.
Just figure that the original job took much less time that he had estimated, so that he might take it into consideration on this job. No such luck.

Your recommendation for repair was to simply raise the water heater off the ground and drill holes in the bottom pan to allow for better draining. Searching for any reason possible to support your poor service after the fact is in no way going to change people's impressions of your capabilities.
This is even more alarming that you point out in the owner's manual by Bradford White, which I had present when you were out, a solution that is different than your own assessment at the time of the service call. This shows you make rushed, uneducated decisions on repairs in lieu of taking the time to research the specific appliance, the manufacturer's recommendations, and the correct repair.
Moreover, your recommended repair was to drill holes in the unit which would have voided the manufacturer's warranty and obviously not been the correct repair as no unit should need to be physically customized such as that to properly work. Lastly, you point out that relocating the unit inside would have fixed my issues.
To clarify, this was the first and only time I had an issue with the water heater and it has worked fine every day since I took 10 minutes to fix it as I originally quoted. It has rained like cats and dogs many times since you were out with no drainage / operational issues.
I strongly suggest you take some courses or professional counseling in customer service, effective communication, have some sort of safety checklist or other process by which you can ensure you take the right precautions when entering and leaving job sites due to your lack of detail or knowledge creating potentially very dangerous situations as addressed in my original review, root cause analysis of systems failure / triage, and acceptable repairs within both manufacturer and the National Fuel Gas Code guidelines [in the case of gas integrated systems]. For now, all prospective customers should look elsewhere for better service and prices.
It's not worth saving $50 on a repair that causes even more damage or puts you and your family at risk nor paying much more for a repair when the proposed resolution is more extensive and incorrect; no saving there. Plenty of better options in the valley.
