Review and analyze now for company Lloyds Plumbing and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''We had our sewer line replaced by Lloyd's Plumbing and were very happy with their professionalism. They coordinated with the City for the permits in a timely manner.
The crew always announced when they arrived and when they were done for the day. They cleaned up the area, once it was finished, very nicely.
Installing plants and bushes that had to be removed to dig. I am glad we chose this team for this important job.
Now, we will not have to clear our drain for a long, long, long time. Thank you, Lloyd's Plumbing.
Happy with the service and workmanship, however, the tech. Pete was upselling a full toilet rebuild when all we needed were new gaskets.
Our toilets were rebuilt 2 years ago. Similarly Pete proposed a shower mixing valve replacement into a costlier full shower head replacement because the handle screws were stripped; incidentally it was damaged by another Lloyds plumber.
I really tried to trust these guys but in the end, even after spending thousands with them, they're all about taking advantage of the situation. It was an absolute delight to work with Loyd's plumbing! We had an urgent need to repair our main irrigation line.
They were incredibly helpful and came out the same day. Thomas and Brandon were so professional and concise.
Brandon even took the time to explain everything to me a person that doesn't know anything about plumbing. =) I highly recommend them for all your plumbing needs! Tyler did a phenomenal job conducting our sewer inspection.
He entered the sewage line from multiple points to ensure we understood the current condition. He patiently and thoroughly addressed all our questions, allowing us to truly understand the diagnosis and necessary work.
We cannot recommend Tyler and the Lloyd's Plumbing team enough for a sewage inspection! Lloyd's is prompt, and super well qualified. but more importantly, I found them to be respectful of elderly patrons, a quality not to be taken lightly.
It is more common for businesses to take advantage of the elderly. Lloyd's was honest and greatly appreciated.
Had a great experience with Lloyd's. Our bathroom sink clogged and after trying all the DIY fixes, it was clear the clog was deeper in the pipes.
I called Lloyd's at 1:34 PM. By 3:20, the work was done.
Shaun came over within 30 minutes for a free estimate. He explained the issue, gave me prices for both a medium-term, and permanent fix to the problem.
He then did the work perfectly, cleaned up after, and stayed to make sure there were no leaks, fixing one at no extra charge that was unrelated to the work he did. Great experience.
Definitely will use again. We needed a plumber to our house asap and after calling about 5 different one Lloyds was the only one who answered the phone.
They came out the same day within 2 hours of the phone call and diagnosed our issue. So efficient and fast! Will be using them again in the future! Very unprofessional and extremely expensive .
Not recommended at all . I checked Conejo Valley Plumbing , they are great .
I made the big mistake of calling Mr. Rooter for a drain clog.
That was a horrible experience, which cost me a few hundred dollars and no resolution to my clogged drain. A friend then referred us to Lloyds Plumbing and we couldn't have been happier.
They came, checked things out, provided a quote, unclogged the drain and were done quickly and easily without trying to upsell me into repairs that simply weren't needed. I would definitely use them again without hesitation.
Pleasant people to work with although surprised at the very high and above average cost amount Lloyds Plumbing charged me at $600.00 to place a motorized snake through the drain pipe underneath my bathroom sink to unclog an approximate 60-70 feet stoppage located behind the wall of a 2nd floor condo unit. There was a removal of one shelf to be done under the sink but I also assisted the plumber for the prep and post work.
I initially contacted another plumber who I had used for the kitchen and he charged $200.00 for the same amount of time needed while also using a motorized snake, although unfortunately, he was not available at that time. I have informed our condo management to respectfully not refer Lloyds Plumbing to other residents in our complex.
Many other plumbers out there for non-emergency price comparisons. Another great experience with Brandon.
Had an issue with our garbage disposal and one of the bathroom toilets. What was really cool is he showed me what was wrong prior to doing any replacements which I appreciated.
Thank you again folks. This is a quality establishment! After being homeowners for less than two months, we had to deal with the unfortunate reality of having a large leak in the yard.
I have never dealt with plumbers before but luckily have a friend in the area who recommended Lloyds. From the get-go, Lloyd's customer service was fantastic.
The receptionists made me feel at ease and I felt like a priority. I had a couple workers come out and every one of them were incredible nice people! All of them really made you feel like they were there for you.
Especially Thomas, who is the supervisor who accesses the situation and comes up with a game plan. He was a super nice guy and was really thorough with all my rookie questions.
The price did add up, as once they fixed the leak, it let to some other things - I needed to get a pressure regulator since once the leak was fixed, at full capacity, the city of Thousand Oaks sends too-high water pressure that could potentially damage the pipes... so at the end of the day this was NOT cheap.
After the initial leak was fixed but we discovered I had to get the other work done, I did call one other plumber to see if what they would charge, and without coming over to see it and give a more accurate quote, they did land right in the same ballpark as Lloyds, which made me feel good about sticking with Lloyds. Again...
I didn't do a lot of (any really) shopping around, so there may (or may not) be cheaper folks out there, but I needed to get the work done fast and well, and Lloyds really made me feel at ease, treated me like a priority, and like they had my back. There was one time where the office made an error and sent someone who was supposed to come to my place first thing in the morning to another site by accident, so my day got a bit out of whack...
but when I called, instead of making something up, or telling me I was wrong (like many places seem to do these days), the person in the office was very apologetic, admitting it was an accident on their end, and sent the guy out as soon as he finished the other job, and even HE was very apologetic and got right to work. They just seem like honest people.
As long as their work holds and their customer service stays the same, Lloyds is going to be my first call. Had a leaking faucet and broken shut off valve in a bathroom.
Didn't have time to do it myself so had my wife look into fixing it and she chose Lloyds. Wasn't happy with the original cost for the scope of work and voiced concerns to the installer and GM.
Next day received a call back from Thomas who was very helpful in explaining the cost structure and helping to make the cost more reasonable by looking at the hourly charge versus flat job charge. More than we wanted to spend, but the work was done right and the end result is high quality.
update tyler resolved all issues no problems sewer working good sorry i couldnt figure how to remove my old review Fantastic service. The person answering the phone was polite and helpful.
Tyler was informed, articulate, and worked hard to get the problem fixed. He explained everything along the way and was willing to answer any questions.
Clogged drain Tyler and other employee I'm sorry I can't remember his name They came very professional, clean uniforms and polite I couldn't believe there is a camera that goes up the pipe. They found the problem within minutes they didn't charge for the camera just the snake Fair enough Good people The only choice to make! Lloyd's does an amazing job, is prompt, professional, and dependable.
They came out and did some work at my house to replace bad pipes and put in a tankless water heater system which has been amazing. I will not go anywhere else! Thank you Lloyds! Pleasant to work with, were able to give me an estimate and make the repairs the same day.
We recommend this firm. Jim I've been using Lloyds Plumbing for years! Today I called for a drain clean out.
They were booked for the day, a GREAT SIGN, and said they'd let me know if anything opened up. Then they called with a time slot, showed up, did a great job and reinforced my belief that they are amazing, professional, responsive, fairly priced and do great work! They've never let me down! All their technicians are top notch too! I am a long-time customer of Lloyd's Plumbing and I remain committed to their service.
We had a mystery pipe-knocking situation that grew louder over the course of two months. The first investigator could not determine the cause, but the office manager dispatched two specialists, Sergio and Field Manager Thomas.
They found and solved the problem. It was like a scientific approach that uncovered a faulty hot water heater expansion device and too many comfort pump installations.
Pricing was good, people are courteous and they wore covers over their boots while in the house. Grateful to have this team on my speed dial.
Over the past eight years our townhouse, and the adjoining unit unfortunately, have experienced kitchen sink backups on a regular basis (almost on a predictable schedule). When we moved in, our neighbors suggested a certain plumber who had been coming here for years to address the same issue.
This now former plumber was always very confident that tree roots were the root cause. Long story short, we tried Lloyd's when our last plumber couldn't come to address our problem one time.
After having Lloyd's come out, we are never looking back! We especially appreciate Tyler for his thorough and expert troubleshooting abilities. For the first time in over a decade the root cause for the sewer problems has been identified and described with snake camera photo evidence! Tyler only charged a fraction of the costs the former plumber used to charge and in this case we got a great deal as Tyler is a master of his profession.
We highly recommend Lloyd's and will continue to use their services and hopefully one day we can afford the major construction project to eventually repair the inherited construction related plumbing problems. Thanks Tyler! Wow.
They were great. Every single person was great to deal with.
I met about 6 of them during house repipe project and all were awesome. They were exactly on time every day.
They told us everything. Never once did they say there would be an extra cost for this or that.
They would tell me options but it always just felt like FYI. FYI your hot water heater is 25 years old and you might want to replace it soon.
Then they never mentioned it further. Their prices were also pretty good.
They were literally 1/2 the price of thousand Oaks plumbing. One guy from a different company gave me an estimate over the phone and was cheaper but that just seemed kind of weird.
I actually didn't even call Lloyds. They were giving an estimate to a neighbor and asked if they could come over and look at mine too.
They did. And it felt like he was giving me advice on what to do and never trying to sell me on the Lloyds company.
Just felt like a friend giving advice. After they just left today, it still feels like friends came to help me.
Granted, I had to pay these friends :-) Best contractor I've ever worked with. Excellent work.
Methodical, tidy and clean job in a difficult area. It's great to have good local plumbers you can rely upon.
Lloyd's Plumbing very responsive to my phone message left. They responded to our problem and had Brandon out to our home first thing this morning to replace the no longer functioning part.
As always thanks for your prompt and reliable services to us. This is for two separate jobs.
We needed a toilet flappper replaced and were charged over $200 - for less than 30 minutes and a flapper replacemeant? But I was naive and thought that was the rate. When our water heater went out the guy who arrived used high pressure sales tactics - things like "well $2400 is what it costs.
I have the parts right now and can fix it right now or I can just leave and you won't have water." $2400? I looked and that is among the most expensive rates for water heater replacement in the entire county. That's ridiculous.
Along the way the guy was talking trash about tankless water heaters. And sure enough, it turns out that they were the official install/repair company for a specific brand of water heater.
So it was in his best interest to talk trash about a competing technology - except he never disclosed any of that info. I had to find it out on my own.
I will not be making the mistake of using Lloyd's ever again. But I guess from their point of view those home renos and RVs don't pay for themselves.
Gotta keep the grift going like the people they vote for. We have used Lloyd's for several different plumbing issues in our home and each time they do a wonderful job! They are always on time, professional, and most of all they know what they are doing.
We never hesitate to call them when we need plumbing work done right. Highly recommend! Tyler with Llyods plumbing does an exceptional job! We had used a few other companies in the past but once we contacted Llyods they have been consistently professional, reliable and efficient.
Tyler is prompt, knowledgeable and courteous. He goes above and beyond to make the customer experience good.
Wonderful customer service and quality work that they stand behind. Highly recommend the services.
Bill, from Lloyds Plumbing, came over to check out some water pooling on the side of our house. This afternoon.
He came by exactly when he said and helped me zero in on the problem and gave a few different options to get it done. I like Lloyds plumbing! My Mother who is 86 years old called them to fix slow draining bathroom sink (hair in pop up) .
They came out fixed that then asked her if she would like them to look at other plumbing fixtures as a "courtesy" . They found a tee outside the house with that had 2 hose bibs attached with a little rust on it and said that should be replaced, she said ok.
No price was mentioned. Invoice for call to fix slow bathroom drain $500.00 she was shocked and called me after.
I am a retired HVAC contractor who used to see these kind of things with other A/C contractors like Mike Diamond and George Brazil who would take advantage of people especially Seniors. I called a reputable plumber friend of mine and asked him what he would charge to do same job for somebody who called him that he didn't know and he said he would charge $300.00.
I had left an earlier negative review and Taylor at Lloyds got in contact with me and said he would credit 200 back to my Mothers card but never did. Surprise, I should have known.
I am out of state or would have done the repairs myself. I would look for some other company to do your plumbing repairs.
We had a little water pressure issue in our master bath's shower, and I didn't call Lloyd's at first because their Yelp rating wasn't as high as the company I did call....the other company wanted to charge me a (pretty high) diagnosis fee to fully diagnose the issue, and I didn't want to pay that much just to find out what was going on, so I paid their "visit" fee and sent them on their way. Today I finally got around to calling Lloyd's, and their pricing structure is so much better, that I asked them to send a plumber as soon as they could.
Turned out that Bill the plumber showed up in about 30 minutes, so that was the first good thing! Then once he arrived, he was super professional and determined to find out what was causing our issue, even though we hadn't yet discussed any diagnosis fee. So so great!! THIS is how I expect a service pro to act! He went on to fix the issue and the charge was super reasonable! And he even tightened up one of our toilet tanks while he was here! Just great! I can't say enough good stuff about Bill and Lloyd's Plumbing, but they will be the only company I call when I have plumbing issues in the future!! Having just remodeled my home in preparation of selling it, I replaced the floors.
From a referral I contacted Lloyd's to reinstall my toilets. The woman on the phone wouldn't quote me a price to set 3 toilets.
She insisted that they would only quote me on site. She wouldn't even give me an hourly rate their work would be based on.
When I said that won't work for me, the woman on the phone hung up. Having spent my career in the service business, I know the hard part is getting a potential client to call for the first time.
Bad business!! Very very pricey almost twice as much as other plumbers. I needed to replace an old toilet in my home.
I purchased a toilet from Costco and had Lloyd's install it. This was likely ultimately ill-advised and I will likely not supply my own parts again.
There was a persistent water leak from that toilet and Lloyd's worked with me to replace that toilet with one of their own toilets. This put me in the unenviable position of having to pay installation and removal costs twice within just a few days, but I greatly appreciate that Lloyd's worked with me to fix my issue in an amicable manner.
I've been using Lloyd's for at least 14 years and I've always been left very happy with their work and their staff. Bill, Nick, and Aaron are all top shelf professionals.
Bill came out right on time, HE IS INCREDIBLE! he worked so hard, no break, worked over 6 hours AND cleaned up after he was done. He knew exactly what he was doing and has a great, professional and humorous personality! I will always be glad when Bill comes around! (Did I mention he worked his back off)! And Pete was there for a while, he is always a hard worker and I am always happy to see Pete! Two of the best guys at LLoyd's We were very pleased with Lloyd's Plumbing doing major work on our Kitchen that required opening a hole in the foundation to work on the drain pipe.
Lloyd's had all the expertise and equipment to diagnose the issue (a broken drain pipe under the foundation) and to fix it. I was pleased with the personal approach all the workers took in explaining the problem to us and helping us to prepare for their repair.
The work was finished on schedule and to our satisfaction. The final repair was hydro jet washed, and a video camera was sent down the pipe to show us the repair from inside the pipe.
We also feel the price was reasonable for all the work completed. We will be calling Lloyd's on any future plumbing needs.
Highly recommend/ We have used them on several occasion after canceling our home protection plan which was always a headache and a half to deal with. Lloyd's has consistently been accommodating, competent, honest, and a pleasure to deal with.
We are relieved to know we have a plumber to call who delivers such quality work and who employs such honest and accommodating workers. Absolutely amazing customer service! While visiting family in Thousand Oaks, CA we had an plumbing emergency.
Not only did they squeeze us in on a busy Friday, they were able to resolve our problems. Nshan & Sergio, we're truly gems with helping us.
I'm thankful that we found Lloyd's and they got us back functioning properly. I would recommend them to anyone looking for help.
We have used Lloyds Plumbing for almost 20years loved the effectiveness and friendly service. Definitely consider ourselves as long-time loyal customers.
unfortunately today we scheduled to replace two Garden faucets for less than 30minute of work total charge $234.12 knowing Lloyds Plumbing has changed their rate even those we fully accepted the estimated price at $234.12 and Pete the technician who worked on the replacement is such nice guy. nevertheless in my opinion such ridiculous high rate for such a small job must say Lloyd Plumbing is eventually destroying many long term customers relationship.
I scheduled an appt for a snake on 3 sinks and the guy shows up and tells me no cleanout and only P traps its 78.69 just to remove the ptraps. $211.oo for the snake and on existing old pipes no Guarantee of the clearing no warranty it will stayed cleared like for 3 months or whatever.
He also said no guarantee on older pipes or piping he didn't put in that they would'nt leak when he left.... Whaaatt the F.
As a fellow Contractor i would never nickle and dime customers or price gouge and i would certainly guarantee anything i touched or removed and be certain it would not leak when i left and the customer was happy.... Im blown away on what has become of Contracting in California and the poor quality of possible skillz these guys may have.
Oh well they lost alot of potential work from us. LOL We've had an odd odor coming from our guest bathroom for a few months.
Tyler came out and suggested basic fixes first such as pinesol and hot water. We ended up deciding to have him use the camera to inspect all our pipes as we knew they were old and we wanted to make sure there wasn't any corrosion or leaks, which there was not, but there was definitely build up of a bunch of gunk.
Tyler was super nice and helpful and wasn't pushy, which is really important in these type of businesses. Their prices are on the higher side so we have decided to wait on the hydrojet for now, but they had really good customer service, from Rita who scheduled the appt and kept us posted, to Tyler who came out.
I had a great experience with Jesse from Lloyd's Plumbing. He showed up on time and was super knowledgeable about our particular issue with our tankless water heater.
He is an all around great guy and a true professional. If anyone who show's up from Lloyd's Plumbing is half as awesome as Jesse, then you're in GREAT hands! If someone told me that I could call a plumber on Thursday, have someone come out to the house on Friday to give me a bid, and have the work completed on a Monday, I never would have believed it! But that is just what Aaron of Lloyd's Plumbing did!!! The problem was a leaky backflow gasket, which meant all water to the backyard had to be turned off until it was repaired.
Not a good thing. Aaron was punctual and worked quickly.
We were happy to learn that Lloyd's does backflow testing too. The company we have used for the last 25 years didn't even answer the phone or return the call after we left a message about the leak.
We will now use Lloyd's for the annual backflow year and will encourage our neighbors to do so as well. Lloyd's was there when we needed them !! Good plumbers.
Getting a bit pricey with their new charging system. They came out twice recently, in November 2021 and June 2022.
November visit was for two supply valves, a bathroom sink faucet install (I provided faucet), new tub spout (just spout, not faucet)..a little more than $1000. In June two laundry room supply valves replacement (valves they themselves installed a few years ago but corroded) and snake drain, $945.
Called to have someone come out to look at my water heater after a home inspection & someone came out the same day. Technician was awesome! He explained that I could have it serviced or replaced and went through the pros & cons.
Felt like he was very honest & not simply trying to make a profit. Since I am selling my home I decided to replace it & the tech was out the very next day to install it! Thank you Lloyd's! Your team is amazing! I spoke to five companies that Yelp recommended.
None were as responsive as Lloyds. Lloyds said "no charge for an estimate." All others wanted $75 to $149 just to come out.
Lloyds gave me next day service. They were here first thing the next AM.
Very good technician! Replaced the garbage disposal at a fair price. I will use them from now on.
Call them. I've used Lloyd's for many years since purchasing our home in 2010 because of their consistently positive service experiences, and this time was no different.
They always fit me in no matter what day or time it is, and I know no matter what tech comes out, they will uphold the company's and owner's values. This week we needed a bathtub clog to be snaked, but we've also had them replace a water heater, install a sink faucet and repipe some of the old cast iron under our home.
Nick showed up as promised, introduced himself and got right to work. He updated me throughout the process and made sure I was aware of their new pricing policy since the last time I had used them.
We were up and running in probably 35 minutes, and he left the area as clean as when he found it. I appreciate that Lloyd's stands behind their service and that I am able to raise concerns and ask questions about their work during the process.
I will continue to call on Lloyd's because I can trust their work ethic, their prices are fair, and I love supporting local, small business. Truly an example of a successful family business handed down through multiple generations.
We had a plumbing issue that seemed hopeless until a business associate recommended we call Lloyd's. Despite being out of their service area, they came out to assess our situation after we expressed a desperate need for a reputable company to help us out.
Aaron of Lloyd's came out personally and even moved his employee's schedule around to be able to service our problem the following day. He made phone calls and utilized all of his own business resources to get to the root cause and make the necessary repair.
Even after the job was complete, Aaron followed up with me right away to provide further resources and recommendations for other contracting services we need. A+ professionalism and service.
Thank you Aaron and Kastan. These guys are charging crazy prices! Look elsewhere and do not use them, they are a complete RIP OFF!! Like the other reviews say, they are charging through the roof for basic jobs.
Look for a different plumber!!! My kitchen sink is clog and I needed a plumber as soon as possible so I called them. Booking of appointment is easy, window is 4 hours which is normal.
No follow-up call or confirmation of appointment though, I have to call them to make sure technician is still coming. Technician came around past 4:00 pm, didn't even say hi, hello.
He said since I don't have a clean-out outside, he will need to cut a pipe to do the snaking. When I told him, the last plumber was able to do it without cutting a pipe, he told me why didn't I call them back.
I don't think he wants to do the job at all that's why he gave me a ridiculously high price - $289 to snake a sink ! When I told him that's too high, he just turn his back and walk away and said he can't do it. I have another company come and they did it for $73, now I'm hiring them to put-up a clean-out for me.
Once again Lloyd's saved the day. John, the technician took his time and inspected my home with the utmost care.
He explained everything to me and showed me how to make sure my water heater stays running safely. His professionalism and kindness was greatly appreciated.
The office staff was so kind and sent John over early because they had a cancellation. I can't recommend enough! Ripper company, they will RIP you off.
I had shower head dripping issue and another issue in another bathroom and the repairmen Pete gave me a quote of total $593 (400+193). I called another plumber and got it fixed in $100.
I am glad I did not fall in trap of their fake 5 star rating but still end up paying $37 for quote. My elderly mother, who lives alone, told me she needed a new water heater installed.
I told her an installed water heater should be about $1200-1600. I paid $1480 for mine.
She called Lloyd's Plumbing because she has used them in the past. The next day, I received a text message from her saying someone from Lloyd's is at her house and installing the water heater.
She also said the estimate was $3500. WHAT!!! Are you kidding me! That's ridiculous! I called my mother and spoke to the installer.
He said the water heater and associated parts were in fact $3500. OUTRAGEOUS! I ended up calling Lloyd's and spoke to Tyler, the GM.
When I asked him how much the water heater itself costs, he said $1100. So the miscellaneous other stuff (brackets, pan, straps, permit etc.) is what, a couple hundred bucks? Nope, he said, about a $1000.
WHAT!! And get ready for it, the remaining $1300 is labor! When I asked how this could be true, Tyler said, " It is what it is." Translation, We will charge you whatever we think we can get away with. The problem here is that my elderly mother paid an outrageous amount.
But it gets better, when I looked at the receipt, the individual items were not itemized by price. There was just one price at the bottom.
Another family member went to Lloyd's and asked for an itemized receipt. When I looked at it, the water heater now shows $2683.60.
WHAT again! The rest totaled the $3600. Bottom line: My mother authorized the work which is too bad because it was $2000 too much.
Do your own research and call around for estimates. An installed water heater should be about $1200-1600.
Two stars because they responded quickly and appear to have done good work. Would not use them again.
Used them to install a gas cooktop, installer was on a personal phone call while doing the work. They are ridiculously expensive charged me $1000 for less than 2 hours of work.
Total rip off! COMPLETE RIP-OFF! This review is solely for pricing. (Dispatch and the technicians are capable, super-friendly and do a good job).
I had used them years ago for work and they were very reasonable. I made the mistake of calling just them for a job, and I feel personally violated at the price (I do now see another review over convincing hot water expansions that are not needed at astronomical price).
They wanted $215 to replace a toilet flapper? I will not make this mistake again. To give them another shot, I called to get a quote for replacing very basic item.
They were TWICE as much as the 10 other people I called. (Same part).
Needless to say, you've lost a customer. If you re-consider your pricing, I would be interested in using you again.
Lloyds Plumbing to the rescue again! Thomas and assistant replaced my leaking tank water heater with a tankless wonder. These two professional craftsman worked diligently with perfection meeting my every request and exceeded expectations.
The quality of their work is exceptional and customer service noteworthy. If you want professional, exceptional workmanship with a customer focus, call on Lloyds Plumbing and ask for Thomas and his assistant, you wont be disappointed.
Thank you Thomas and assistant! sorry i do not remember the assistants name, this 22 year old solders pipes like a senior craftsman. This was an enjoyable experience.
Thank you! Ryan and Jesse were awesome. It is rare so rare to get folks like them who are so professional, friendly and most importantly HONEST.
I rarely write yelp reviews but was so impressed that I had to do this one Had a leak in our garage ceiling a couple weeks ago and called Lloyd's. Used them once before on recommendations from a couple friends.
They responded quickly on both occasions. Was reluctant to use them again because I felt they were too expensive but decided to call to fix the leak as they were the first to get back to me.
The plumber came out and said he could not cut into our ceiling because of the threat of asbestos and he could lose his license if he did. We assured him that we had our house repiped 20 years ago and there was no asbestos.
He recommended a company to inspect the ceiling at $500+. We did not use his service and had someone over to cut the hole.
The plumber came back later that day and saw the small leak in the pipe. He said the job was too big to do then and he would have to come back another day.
He said it would be a problem getting to the pipe as we have a two story house. Also said that he would have to shut the water off in the house, make sure all the water was drained out and all pipes were dry per his quote? He never entered the house before fixing the pipe.
He implied that this would also be major. We were quoted $760.
He came back to do the job and I assumed it would take all morning based on his description of the job. He was done in 1 hour 20 minutes.
I then asked if it would cost less since that was over $300+ per hour. Asked him what their hourly rate was and he said they quoted by the job.
I felt that we were price gouged and taken advantage of. He could have easily done the job when he came back the first day but implied that it would take too long.
Talked to Larry at Lloyd's and he seemed sympathetic and said he would have Tyler the general manager call. Tyler called and was very concerned about losing us as a customer and would make some adjustment.
Said they would talk to the plumber and call us back. No one called back and no one responded to our follow up email.
Obviously they are not concerned about losing customers. I would definitely not recommend this company and will be sure to share what happened with several of my friends that use them.
We have used Lloyd's Plumbing for 20+ years in the Thousand Oaks area, at 3 homes. Not any longer, and you should ask about pricing before they arrive - as, once they do, you owe them for $80 just to show up to rip you off.
We moved an simply needed a washer and dryer re-installed....the onsite quote was for $615.50....you could buy a washer or dryer for that much maybe? My wife was furious, as she had talked to a person at the office earlier today, and they could NOT give her a pre-estimate. After a couple of heated conversations, the Office Manger agreed to do the job for $300.
Even that seems high, but we needed the washing machine before the Holiday Weekend. The people who arrived were very nice - and we have no bad feelings about them - they were great.
BUT - this company is going down, once other plumbing companies or individuals start to advertise "Do NOT pay Lloyd's ridiculous prices!!" So much for customer loyalty - we are never going to call this rip-off company again - and please take care in dealing with them over the phone....bait and switch tactics in a tight community? We recently had our second slab leak in our condominium, so our HOA board decided that it was time to re-pipe the entire unit. Lloyd's plumbing is our board's plumber of choice in our complex.
Thomas came out to locate the leak and lay out the job, he was very knowledgeable and informative and extremely helpful. Thanks Thomas for going the extra mile for us! Mike and Brandon were our installers, they were friendly, courteous, conscientious, and explained what the procedures were and what to expect.
They cleaned up after themselves and were careful around our personal items. We opted to open and close the walls ourselves, to save money.
Our plumbing team worked it out so that we would have the minimum inconvenience in our lives by doing all of the installing of the pipes the first day and then making all of the connections the second day, leaving us without water for just a few hours. None of that "I forgot something and have to run to the hardware store for a part." stuff with Lloyd's Plumbing, their team came fully prepared with everything they needed on their truck, having planned the entire job out ahead of time.
They installed all new, from the main line to the individual shut off valves for each water outlet, and they made sure that each was stable and secure too. Would I use Lloyd's Plumbing again? Absolutely! Would I recommend them to you? You betcha'! Big Dave Thousand Oaks, CA Once again so happy I can call Lloyd's Plumbing when I have a problem! They are knowledgeable and courteous and get the job done.
Thank you to Bill who took care of my issue yesterday. Have been happy each time I have had to call Lloyd's.
Quick efficient, high quality service. Great phone service and support.
Very discreet if needed with my infant asleep. Very expensive.
I highly recommend Lloyd's Plumbing. I've used other plumbers in the area and even had a home warranty program for a while, but Lloyd's is the most professional plumber I've worked with.
They arrive on time and I've always felt their prices are fair. They don't require a window of arrival that is hours long and they clean up afterwards.
100% satisfied with their services! Just beware of unfair pricing and terms that change over the course of the project. The owner is an arrogant bully that I am honestly scared to give details of my transaction in fear he will retaliate again.
I previously gave Lloyds a 2 star rating but am changing that rating. Why, because they reached out to me to better understand and change the protocol for dispatch.
Changing their protocol to give customers information concerning asbestos testing when cutting into the ceiling or wall (you can do this yourself without testing) and being upfront about the service call fee. They explained why they approached it that way, perhaps it was a smaller issue that did not require cutting into the ceiling and true some people may not have the skills or desire to problem solve before calling.
I appreciate the transparency and refund of my service charge. In regards to pricing each business has it's overhead and determines pricing.
If time allows, it is always good to get a couple of estimates. Do not use this company.
In a single day, we have gotten 5 different estimates for plumbing work to be done on our property. In addition, instead of charging us this legal deposit of 10% we were billed the full amount on an incorrect invoice.
Since we have lost confidence in their abilities, we are in the process of canceling our appointment with them and have forwarded the confusing set of invoices to an attorney. I almost never give reviews but I feel it's necessary.
The faucet was dripping then turned into running and could not be turned off, in the bathroom. The water to the faucet under sink (valves to shut off) could not be moved either--the only way to shut off was to shut off the entire house.
My handyman was going to help me but could not come out then, so I called Lloyd's. I used them to install a water heater back in April and it was reasonably priced and work was excellent.
I want to state that the WORKMEN WHO COME ARE EXCELLENT/ACCOMMODATING, I have nothing against them. When I called up Lloyd's, I should have taken more note of what they originally said to me before I even got to speak about the problem: that their "pricing structure has changed." Now it's a $79 fee just to get an estimate, give upfront pricing, then I have the option to use them and the $79 fee will get waived OR not use them and pay the $79 fee.
I do not have a problem with that (except when I was charged twice and they are not refunding the overcharge) and accepted it. I waited the 2hrs for them to come, it was 3pm on Tuesday Aug.
28 when the guy came. The valves under the sink needed to be replaced due to corrosion and a few springs needed to be replaced in both hot and cold on/off faucet knobs.
His quote was $462. I said how long for labor, he said it would take him an hour.
I quickly called my handyman and no, he did not think it should cost that much. I spoke with the technician and he said perhaps he could just fix the VALVES UNDER THE SINK so that I could turn off the water when not using the bathroom until my handyman could come---he understood that my son was starting high school the next day and having things working in his bathroom or semi working would be best.
He knew I could not afford that charge and that I was shocked by it. He then quoted me I believe it was $260 or so--half the price to do half the job, then said wait, he needed to check with his office.
So I let him call his office and went outside actually to call my handyman to see how quickly he could come after this guy did that part of work--we could wait a few days then, since we could turn off the water if the technician did that part of the work. I come back inside--nope.
Lloyd's office will NOT let him do half the work--only ALL the work. for $462.
I sent him away but had to pay the $79 fee. However, I needed to charge it and the charge went thru twice.
NOT the technician's fault--he even called the office to see if the first charge went thru, they said no, so he charged me $79 again. Apparently there was a delay in it going through because then it showed up TWICE, on THEIR record and someone actually called me from the office after he left to tell me they were putting thru the credit.
And that another person would call me tomorrow to confirm they put credit through (Wed). They did not call me Wed.
I called this morning (Thurs) and was told, the person in charge of it stepped out she would call me in a few minutes. That was a few hours ago.
No one called me. I called my credit card company--NO refund was put through and both charges still show.
My credit card company is now taking care of it. This is not the complaint I have.
I accept the $79 charge. This is the part you need to hear---my handyman decided to come out later that night to help me out.
He went to the Do It Center down the street where they pointed him to the right parts right away. He then did the work in less than an hour and only charged me $100 which INCLUDES the cost of parts which were nominal.
OK so WHAT WAS THE $462 FOR THEN THAT LLOYDS WAS CHARGING ME??? the PARTS were found at Do It Center for CHEAP, I did NOT need a new faucet or handles, nothing large or expensive, nor was Lloyd's offering that---he showed me the parts, they were the SAME ONES my handyman bought at Do It Center (for cheap). the WORK took less than an hour plus the technician had told me that it would---sooo, was the work worth over $400 then??? $100 vs.
$462 IS A BIG DIFFERENCE!!!!!!!! If you want good service without getting ripped off, FIND ANOTHER PLUMBING SERVICE. It seems, this one has CHANGED and will charge you exorbitant amounts.
I was very pleased with the work performed on the installation of my water heater the employees were very good. I disagree with some of the pricing it was high and also thought that some of the charges should have been part of the installation.
All the employees that I spoke with were very professional I love these guys! Every experience I've had with them has been a positive one. Most recently, they fixed my parents water heater and they were so happy.
They're very good at what they do, and they never try to sell me work/products that I don't need. Lloyd's is officially my go-to plumbing service! They refuse to quote you a price for their basic service call, other plumbers will readily do that if you explain the problem.
I mean, what does it cost when you already know you need the flapper replaced in your toilet? It's not rocket science, just give me a ballpark figure??? I was so upset that I had to create a yelp account to leave this review. My husband and I are in our late 70's and are on a fixed income.
We had called Lloyd's to change a facet and trap in our bathroom. During the service call the plumber broke the sink and the pipe off in the wall.
During the incident the plumber sustained a laceration on the face from breaking the sink and another plumber was dispatched to finish the job. They left my house without a sink and charged us $150.
We now have no sink in our bathroom to use. My neighbors called Lloyds on our behalf to ask for the $150 back and to ask about the sink that was broken.
This is the excuse they received. "It wasn't our fault that the sink was old.
We told the owner that the drain stop was rusted on. We did perform service to them, we changed the angle stops".
They damaged our property and left us without a sink to use in our bathroom. They're suppose to be the neighborhood plumbing company and this is the way they treat elderly people who are on fixed income? They need to read their own mission statement.
SHAME ON YOU Lloyds! Newbury Park Note: My neighbor had posted a prior review regarding this incident but Lloyds had it removed. My neighbors assisted me with this new review post.
This is my second review, I had good things to say about the two personnel at the call center. We had Shain M.
as our technician, he quickly found the problem and began to make the repairs. We have had used this company for 18 years and will continue to use them.
I have used countless plumbers in the past and no company compares to Lloyd's! I have used them for both service repair as well as remodel plumbing and they have completely impressed me every time. Nick came out to my house to install a shower valve and he was not only timely and professional, but his work was extremely clean.
I have also had Thomas out to clear a drain line and he was both courteous and knowledgeable. I would refer Lloyd's to both my family and friends.
There is only one plumbing company saved in my phone from here on out! Had several companies from the Conejo area come to my house. Decided to go with Thomas who I learned was a 3rd generation plumber from Lloyd's because he was very knowledgeable and didn't try and up sell me like a few other estimates.
Very happy with the clean professional work they did, I would trust lloto do work on my grandmas house... Lloyd's Plumbing has again proved how professional and honest they are to work with.
I had a serious problem in my bathroom and we actually had to take out our bathtub in order to get to the piping under the cement floor. Ritchie was more than helpful, his patience in explaining everything to me Was amazing I asked so many questions and probably asked them more than once.
My son did most of the work for me and worked hand and hand with Ritchie as the job progressed. Lloyd's Plumbing did another big job for me years ago which was more than they originally bargained for and they honored their estimate.
Lloyd's staff are the most pleasant and professional People to work with in any emergency I highly recommend them Joan N Lloyd's Plumbing has been my go to plumber since moving to the area. When I moved into my house two years ago I had a list of items that needed attention from rebuilding the flushing systems on a couple toilets to addressing several slow drains and scoping the main drain from the house.
The two man team they sent did a great job and left things cleaner than when they arrived. I didn't post a review at the time but recently had an occasion to make use of their services again and figured that two for two great service appointments deserved a review.
On this occasion I called them to install a kitchen faucet after I purchased a new unit and got under the sink to do the job myself. Luckily I determined a call to them right away was the better strategy.
Lloyd sent Nick to me and Nick did the job and then some. First let me say that it was lucky for me that I called them because when I watched Nick do his job it was immediately obvious I would have been in way over my head (as I have learned over the years is the case in almost every instance involving any project in the plumbing category).
Nick gave me a quote up front which included the replacement of two valves I hadn't considered but were clearly in need of replacement. He was friendly and explained everything in detail as he did it.
In the end the job was done with the highest level of quality and care. I highly recommend Lloyd's and Nick if he shows up at your door We have a reoccurring drain blockage that is about 100 ft from our house.
We have this cleared about every 9 months or so. So today we used LLoyd's Plumbing to clear our drain.
They showed up on time and where very efficient in clearing the drain. Tony the plumber was pleasant and friendly.
The only reason I did not give them five stars is because of price. We paid $204 when others have charged $150.
Great service but just a bit on the pricey side. So a few days ago I asked for plumbing recommendations on the website NextDoor.
Against my better judgement (I've had bad experiences with them before) I hired Lloyds since they had good reviews on the site. Everyone deserves a second chance, right? They came a to fix a small dripping faucet in my pool line and replaced the entire faucet (Monday).
I woke up at 5:00 this morning (Wednesday) to the sound of gushing water. The entire faucet failed and water was pouring by the gallon all over the yard and into the pool - EVERYWHERE.
I called their emergency number twice and had no call back (finally almost an hour and countless gallons later they called). I tried to turn off the water at the curb but couldn't budge the handle so I finally called the Fire Department to come and turn off my water.
God bless them. So, now, I am out the money for the repair and Lord know how many hundreds of dollars in water charges for all the wasted water, not to mention, I was having the drip fixed because I am really trying to conserve water!!! I for one, will NEVER again use Lloyds Plumbing and warn everyone here to consider carefully whether or not you will do so as well.
We had a slab leak from the drainage pipes in the kitchen. The house was built in 1963 and we've been struggling with the drainage system for the last 10 years if not more.
We contacted more than 8 plumbers and only 5 responded. There was one plumber that came to poke around for 3 hours, stuck the camera down, charged a lot and told us there's nothing they could do.
The other one suggested pipe bursting trenchless sewer replacement. I called up the city building safety department to verify if the procedure is allowed.
City advised me that pipe bursting trenchless is not allowed in our area because many sewer pipes are too close to the slab; this was exactly what Thomas (Lloyds plumbing) told me. The quoted price for the trenchless repair was not actually saving us money at the end of the day.
Lloyds Plumbing was by far the most professional, and knowledgeable one. Thomas (with Lloyd) is very experienced with situation as such.
He analyzed the situation and gave a sensible solution immediately. The excavation was minimized to the least, the price is reasonable.
During the construction, there were different crews who came on different days. Each crew specialized in different parts of the construction, everyone of them were very responsive and professional.
At the end of construction, there were several issues but Thomas took care of every single one quickly. I'm very pleased with the service.
I will use Lloyds Plumbing for my future plumbing jobs for sure. I talked to Roy on the phone and he was knowledgeable, thorough, patient and kind and really gave me some great guidance on a very tricky problem I'm having in Los Angeles.
High marks for this young man. Top-notch service, prompt and friendly.
Tony arrived within an hour of my calling and promptly cleared my clogged drain. Will definitely call Lloyd's for my future needs.'''.
