Review and analyze now for company PipeDoctor 247 and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''Requested service through home warranty to change pressure regulator valve, they charged me 1025$ out of pocket, and 475$ of it is for this digging. I asked how they decided on this price is it hourly rate or depth? They said standard fee, okay but i would really really appreciate if you could tell me i asi could do it myself so i could save some! Other than that plumber guy was very nice, very professional, communicative.
So it wasn't the pilot assy. I replaced the control module and gas valve which was around 200 in parts.
Took me about 1.5hr, due to a slow to drain tank. Overall was able to save about 2500-3000 by not using this company'.
Avoid avoid avoid Blair and his team were EXCEPTIONAL! My water heater broke and things could not have gone more seamless in a "oh crap, a major appliance broke" situation. He was so professional and able to navigate me asking thousands of questions about the work being done.
I will keep their card handy for any other work needed. I really appreciate the professionalism! I'm going to assume that these bad reviews came before Blair was on the team because I had such a positive experience.
I understand that working with a home warranty company can be a hassle, that is why I am keeping their card and getting rid of the warranty service. It's hasn't been worth it.
Not sure how many other people have done math, but I think I am finally done with paying for home warranty. If something breaks there are other ways to navigate repairs.
My warranty company sent this to fix shower leaking issue. I was remodeling house flooring and painting etc.
and the guy told the warranty company that house is under construction. He wanted to charge 1400$ for changing shower valve - others are doing that in 400$.
They just didn't want to do the work. Not worth the hassle.
Save your time and money and find someone better. Hot water heater not heating.
Pipe Doctor's Technician, Blair, was prompt, professional, fixed the problem quickly. Second time to use Pipe Doctor through First American Home Warranty.
Very satisfied. I requested service on a leak.
I knew that my toilet was an issue, but the meter was still spinning. First off, the technician, kept closing the door behind him when he came into the house multiple times.
I was home alone and this made me very uneasy. Maybe it's their protocol, but at least ask so the environment doesn't get awkward.
On the repair end, the tech was not very informative in his communication to me and it caused confusion altogether. When the technician (master plumber) called me, he had no empathy for the situation and really had no care in explaining anything to me so that I can understand it.
He outright said that my service wasn't covered by the warranty company and that he couldn't go into specifics. Well, ok then.
To add, I'm obviously going to need this repair done as it's in the foundation, and I was planning to use this company. However, after the conversation with the customer service representative who practically yelled at me on the phone saying I heard wrong and with the tech who was outright rude in his tone and words, I will not go with them.
Excavation, leak detection needed- maybe the work was too cut out for them... I'll never know.
I hope you all have a better experience than me. Unfortunately I've had to use them again because of my warranty.
and they relayed information that was incorrect to the home warranty. They said this pipe was crushed by an object, or frozen and damaged.
This pipe is interior to my home and has never been exposed to freezing or a falling object. Can't warn you enough, I would go elsewhere.
Don't deserve even 1 star. My warranty company assigned them otherwise wouldn't have dealt with them.
1. They kept cancelling my appointments saying due to emergency.
I know they are trying to save gas and visit when they have more customers in the area. 2.
Took them 3 appointments to finally do something. First 2 appointments the technician just created more problems.
3. It has been 3 days since their last visit and still haven't submitted the report to the warranty company for processing.
Who can wait 3 days for a leaking water? 4. Reported my issue as "missing parts" to the warranty company which is a lie.
They are just trying to get rid of this claim. I don't recommend this company, they are just a lazy bunch of people not willing to resolve customer's issues.
Bliar was great! The previous plumber couldn't unclog our drain, had to call back to home warranty for someone else with hydrojet.... Bliar shows up, It only took him 10 min to unclog two clogs at 22 ft and 33 ft with a pipe snake.
Drain working instantly! Amazing work! Worst customer service. They will not accommodate any time frames and will hang up on you.
My warranty company assigned them to me so I did not have a choice in choosing them. Working with them has been a nightmare.
After dealing with them for several days, I started to read their reviews and all of the lower stars are truthful at best. The average on several review sites is less than 2 stars.
You have to be an awful business for this to occur. I worked with their customer service and scheduling team.
These people have no customer service skills. They told me my submission was incorrect.
I followed up on their e-mail trying to correct them and they continued to say that I was wrong. My original request had 4 issues that they condensed to two without any facts.
Me the homeowner was not believed. We had a conversation where I tried to clear things up, but they still were skeptical about my request.
In what world is the homeowner is the bad guy and the service company is not there to understand or clear things up? When the plumber came on-site and I told him the issues which is what I reported only did the scheduling believe me. 3 of the 4 issues were fixed on the first trip.
As many reviews said and captured eloquently, another common problem occurred. They sent my warranty company a bill for $1075.
I called when they told me my out-of-pocket costs. I asked for a breakdown and they sent me back to the warranty company.
When I discussed the costs with the warranty company, they were hesitant after doing some research. They installed a $123 and $41 part.
You want to talk about a mark-up price. I have had the patch panel replaced in several properties and this cost was 2.5x of those repairs.
Since the warranty company would not send another company out, I was stuck with PipeDoctor247. The process did not get better at this point.
Knowing they were overcharging me and this was before Christmas. The entire repair process was 6 weeks.
When I was scheduling the second visit, PipeDoctor247 revealed to me the contract that was between Cinch Home Services and me. If you want to talk about a privacy issue and Business Law 101 this is the perfect case.
When I asked how they knew what details were in my contract, I did not get an answer, but I will follow up with Cinch Services. However, the initial call still did not result in a visit being scheduled because they called me a liar in a nice way.
In the end, I was right again, but their phone, support, and care team were the worst. I asked for a morning visit because of the nature of the issue, but they gave me a mid-day time frame from 10-2.
The plumber Blair showed up one hour late and NEVER apologized for his lateness and he was on-site for 4 hours. I paid for their services in cash because I do not want my financial information connected to PipeDoctor247 in any way.
This is not a trustworthy company. Other reviews have pointed out their business practices and I saw it first hand.
Those 1 and 2-star reviews were accurate, I experienced everything they said in my dealings with them. Initially, I thought Blair was a good guy with a bad company and I was going to give them a 2-star rating.
He seems knowledgeable, but not apologizing for being late or acknowledging shows you how out of touch these employees are. This business will find a way to dig deep in your pockets so be aware.
I hope I never have to deal with this company again even from my warranty company. I agree with a recent post about warning you enough.
Bless you, if you have a good experience with them, but the probability is high that you will not. Highly recommend Blaire at pipedoctor 247! Great service, friendly, knowledgeable, HONEST, timely ..
all of the great things you want out of a plumber! I was surprised when my kitchen drain pipe suddenly started leaking. Fortunately, I had home warranty insurance and they set up a plumber visit through Pipe Doctor 24/7.
I can only praise the entire experience with Pipe Doctor 24/7 and with Blair, the plumber assigned for my repairs. He did an excellent job in repairing the leaking pipe.
His work was professional and courteous. Also, Blair explained the issue and even listed potential problems in the future with the aging pipes.
I was very satisfied with his service and with Pipe Doctor 24/7 response. My home insurance company recommended pipedoctor247.
I paid $175 and they came out quickly and quoted $6,700 to repair, when asking questions the tech told me he had other things to do. Another plumber quoted $400.
Given I paid $175 I emailed the company to ask why their bid was so much higher and asked for a refund. See attached response.
Speaking from my experience this company lacks ethics, knowledge or both, I recommend you save your $175. The technician was great.
He came in and fixed two toilets so fast! He respected my home by covering his shoes before entering my home. He was very knowledgeable, professional and nice.
Gerrod was extremely kind and professional. He was committed to getting the job done and took careful attention to ensure the work area was left clean and in order.
Overall such a positive experience and outstanding customer service! We had an excellent experience with PipeDoctor. Quality workmanship and quality products installed.
Very attentive to my text messages. VERY respectful of our home and of us.
Blair is a hard working and knowledgeable plumber whom we will call again whenever there is a need. The absolute worst business I have ever encountered.
Our hot water heaters went out this past summer. We contacted our home warranty company (that we do not use anymore) the plumbing company they use is Pipedoctor.
Pipedoctor came out and replaced our water heaters with a tankless water heater. After the job was done Pipedoctor was supposed to get a city inspection.
Pipedoctor did not do that. We have had several issues with the tankless water heater which we have tried many times to get them to come fix but they would not.
We called other plumbing companies to come out but they would not touch the water heater because it was not up to code. Now we are in a fight with Pipedoctor to come make things right.
Stay far away from Pipedoctor. This company sent a tech out to our home to view a water leak.
The tech had to climb in the attic to view the leak. The tech may attempted to be careful but ended up causing a crack in our ceiling that now needs repair.
This was on dry wall and over 10 feet away from the leak area. When the companies answering service was notified, we were told that this was due to the leak.
I took pictures and a video of where the leak showed ( had a water stain on the ceiling) and how that spot was wet, but where the crack was located was dry and over 10 feet away. The young lady was rude and informed me that her manage would have to contact me back at his convenience.
To top it off it ended up being a roofing issue not a plumbing issue. Now we also have a cracked ceiling.
Not professional or receptive to the issue and the owner will be contacted as this is UNEXCEPTABLE!!! Pipe Doctor 24/7 is ALWAYS on time, professional and educational. 2nd time with Gerrod as our tech, he did a through diagnosis of the problem and patiently answered all my questions.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Extremely bad service.
The technician Gerrod was very rude and did not fix the issue. They are only interested on getting money from Home Warranty, I am amazed with the rude behavior this guy had.
Never use their services. I have had a significant plumbing issues since moving into my home 8 years ago and have dealt with many plumbers that treated symptoms of problems but let the actual problems go untreated, resulting in major problems/damage.
That is not the case with Pipe Doctor. I've been fortunate enough to have Blair tend to any issues for the past several years and he has been great.
He is clearly very experienced and willing to take the time to educate you on how to prevent future issues. Not only is Blair efficient and effective, he is also considerate and has solid customer service skills.
Thank you, Pipe Dr., for the continued exceptional service you provide. pipedoctors was fast, friendly and did a great job.
we couldn't have asked for better service. Never use their service, 0 star if possible ..
came to fix via warranty and never fixed , please read the other reviews (on yelp or Google ) as well just don't go by my opinion alone , 112 out of 133 one star reviews that is 84.2% bad experience ,this speaks volumes about the service provided, the consensus opinion about pipe doctor is horrible, I have given my feedback to the warranty company as well , do your due diligence 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND! The service technician showed up 20 minutes before the tracking system showed they would arrive - this is a new house and vacant but I live a block away. I was at the property within 3 minutes of receiving the call and let the technician in the house.
While I plugged in my computer, he asked where the water heater was. I let him know it was in the attic, logged into my computer, and before I could look up (~10 seconds) he walked out the front door, got in his car and left without saying a word.
I'm not sure how these guys are still in business. I was assigned this service provider through my Home Warranty company.
They created an unnecessary scope of work, and were trying to charge me $800 out of pocket (plus the $75 service call fee that is the standard "deductible" for all home warranty claims). I contacted them twice seeking an explanation of their seemingly absurd rate, to no response.
They also listed my job as "complete" on their timeline when, in fact, no work had been done! I ultimately ended up hiring ANOTHER licensed plumber (outside the warranty company) based on their 5 star rating on Yelp. They came within 2 hours of my calling them, and replaced the damaged component in under half an hour.
They charged me $230 total. It certainly looks as though PipeDoctor was running a bit of a hustle (or at the very least, a price gauge!).
No thanks, PipeDoctor! The most dishonest company. They will tell you to your face that something is working when it is clearly not useable.
I would not recommend them at all. Such a ripoff!!!! They came over to my home to give an estimate of a job that needed to be done.
They charged $475 just for the estimate, the technician was not even there for 15 mins. They never sent the estimate and we finally called, a few days later we received a text for a final estimate of $2,779 for a job we had already gotten done because they took so long.
The work cost with the other company was $650. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! I had an exceptional experience with PipeDoctor 247! I was assigned to them through my OneGaurd home warranty and Josh came out promptly to assess and diagnose my hot water heater which had been leaking and was placed in my condo unit in 2006- it was clearly time to be replaced.
Even after a part didn't work on the new unit, Josh and his team contact the manufacturer and he was back the exact same day with the part needed and ensured it was fixed and functioning before leaving. Their customer service is amazing and thorough and answered all of my questions prior to Josh coming over.
I am extremely happy with my experience and am grateful I was paired with them as a contractor through my warranty! IN addition after having a new company inspect the water heater I found out it only needed a very small part replaced (which cost me less than $6.) This is after pipe doctor247 told me to buy a brand new water heater. That would have cost me thousands!!! Thank god I found someone more reputable.
Our hall toilet clogged and we called our home warranty. When their first company told us it would be 2 weeks they set up Pipe Doctor.
How grateful we are they did. Blair came out the same afternoon and had us fixed and ready to go.
He was very friendly and completely explained what he did. We could not be more pleased.
I recommend them highly DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! They said we poured acid in our garbage disposal to purposely break it!! Who does that!?! Why would I damage our own kitchen and cause water damage....Josh Beck is just a plain idiot Did a good job on the work he did. Asked for an estimate for other work.
The estimate was off the charts. Unacceptable.
My wife and I are seniors at risk. The tech showed up without a mask.
Unacceptable. You can't call yourself PipeDoctor 247...
TWENTY-FOUR SEVEN ... and take a week to show up to work on a clogged toilet.
Canceled my request with First American Home Warranty because that's just plain ol' dumb. If I could rate this "plumbing" company a -10 I would! They did a terrible job repairing a simple pvc pipe connected to my outdoor spigot.
A 3 year old could have fixed it properly, instead this company after two months of me trying to contact them said their repair was by "code". I wonder what "code" they are talking about when they ruined my outdoor pvc connections and left my spigot pointing to the sky! Yes, they did not place the water spigot horizontally (proper direction), instead they left it pointing to the sky! Stay away from this company unless you want to waste $500 for something completely unacceptable! The technician said he did not have the right parts - why did he even start in the first place! He should have waiting until he had the "right" parts.
Unbelievable! Heading to small claims for sure! I could not upload pics but man, completely unacceptable! Needed a wax ring replaced for a small toilet leak. Home warranty company sent this person out.
He wrote it up as "missing parts" then gave me a quote for $700 to fix the toilet, also breaking a floor tile near the toilet. Meanwhile I have an itemized bid from Lowes to replace all the floor tile - which includes remounting the toilet with new components.
The quote from Lowes to do the tile and toilet was $100 cheaper than this persons quote just for a toilet remount. Pretty sure this is a scam so he could keep the service fee for 10 min of work.
I have since paid Lowes to do the work, and fired my home warranty company because of this. They came to fix my pipes after they burst.
They did replace the pipes with PVC pipe, but they way it was installed, was apparently the cheap quick "shark" method. Not only that, but they also did not clean up after they left and didn't make sure I had running water coming out of my faucets.
This was a huge issue because I have galvanized piping in my house. As a result, just built up in my faucets, resulting in me having to get a hotel room until I had another company come out to correct their negligence and having to replace ALL of my faucets in my house.
I reached out to PipeDoctor 247, they responded once, but I provided my information, they never followed up. I fell taken advantage of! DO NOT USE THEM! Like other reviewers, our home warranty company chose PipeDoctor to come to our house and quote replacement of our outdoor tankless water heater following the Texas winter storm in Feb '21.
The company quoted us $7,500 for replacement, a job that one year ago when we initially purchased the unit, cost us just under $3,000. Absolutely disgusted, we hung up with them.
We instead used Radiant who charged us $3,090 for the entire job. A week after sending us the $7,500 quote, PipeDoctor texted to confirm if we still wanted the replacement unit and noted the full cost would be $4,975.
I reminded them that a week prior they quoted $7,500 and they said it was due to "supply and demand." Actually, that's called price gouging and it's illegal. I feel extremely bad for anyone forced to use this company by their home warranty company.
For anyone looking to hire their own plumbing team and pay out of pocket, RUN. Shady business practices are at play here.
Believe the reviews. Same as the folks on here with negative reviews.
Home Warranty recommend company to clear a drain. Well we had the plumber come to clear a double vanity drain - ended up making a huge mess in my house with his shoes and around the sinks.
The sinks were empty but some how managed to make the situation worst where both sinks were full. He basically gave up and told me that he couldn't clear the drain, and that a vent clean out is needed and it won't be covered under warranty and will cost $550! Well knowing this guy didn't even bring an electric auger inside to clear the drain - I knew it wasn't done properly, and prompted me to find someone else before I spend another dime on them.
In fact, I hired another plumber (paid out of my own pocket) and was a fraction the cleanout cost that they were going to charge me. The plumber we hired said that the vent cleanout wouldn't even be needed for this type of clog.
One leaking pipe in the garage from the freeze and they charged $525 for little more than half hour of work. Ridiculous.
And if you don't go with their repair after they give you their ridiculous price, they charge $125 for a "trip fee". Pipe Doctor 24.7 has done 2 jobs for me.
Both issues were quickly and responsibly handled. They were sent by OneGuard.
Blair also took the time to explain what was wrong and what needed to be done. In one case he explained how one of the issues could be avoided in the future.
I recommend them without reservation. Just not good customer service.
Tech never rang the doorbell. Left an invoice said completed work which was not true.
Looks like out of pocket paying customers get great service but not warranty customer's. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
We have a reputable home warranty company that uses this company. They came to our house to fix a clogged plumbing pipe, pulled off the toilet in the half bath, snaked the line and then charged us over $500 for 30 min work.
They had us pay via Venmo to a personal account (guy said it was his boss's account) which I am sure was untrue so we couldn't get a refund. Needless to say, I called the home warranty and they said the toilet removal WAS COVERED and this company would call to refund us.
Haven't heard a peep in over two weeks and now will file a formal complaint. Also, the clogged pipe issue wasn't fixed because it backed up two days later.
I called them to come back out and they never returned my call. I went to HD, rented a 100 ft snake, pulled off the toilet, snaked the line and never had anymore issues.
The guy used a 50ft snake which obviously wasn't long enough. Beware, there are a lot more negative reviews than postive ones.
from Fort Worth Texas Crappy company, please don't waste your time or your money. Very unprofessional when they came to my home and was in a hurry to head off to another appointment.
They Did a lousy job, and when I called back to have them come out the next day to check as the issue still existed they requested I pay another $70.00 upfront. Save yourself the headache and DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
Have been sent here by home warranty many times and always satisfied. Even if the problem happens to return so do they very promptly.
We didn't have an experience with the plumbing. However my girlfriend had an experience with an AWFUL AGRESSIVE DRIVER.
He was riding her tail on hwy 35 in San Marcos at 80 mph. He didn't like her speed, so he went into the left lane and passed her.
He was towing a trailer with his F-150, and cut in front of her and hit her L/F tire and wheel causing her to move around while driving fast. It scared her, he was trying to run.
She chased him down and took video's of him. Cops were called and this prick DID NOT get a ticket from San Marcos PD.
Although his company is responsible for the damages. What I'm trying to say, the company hires RUDE employees that don't care about your safety or you AT ALL.
So call someone ELSE..... We were forced to use this company through our home warranty.
We had flooding in our house with water coming up from under toilets. They came out and in 12 min said they fixed the issue - there was a clog in the drain.
Sure. 10 hours later our house flooded again.
Same areas. Same issue.
They REFUSED to come back to check on their own work. We have now been without water in our house for 5 days...
They were sent out by out warranty company for our water heater. It was a simple plug and play job.
Well not for PipeDoctor... sent our warranty company 1k worth of "modifications" that had to be done which cost more than it just cost me to buy the water heater and replace it my self.
I called them and no real justification for the prices other than those are the things they charge for when replacing a water heater even though they don't pertain yo my system or house like the $125 permit that I don't need because I live in the county and not the city or the $225 electric modification for a new plug that cost $17 and three screws... there was $700 more on their list.
Scam. Good thing this single mom and her two teen sons had a free hour and know how to use a few tools or we would have had to fall for this.
WORST COMPANY EVER!!! We were stuck with this pathetic excuse for a plumbing company by our home warranty company. While snaking a clogged line in our upstairs bathroom the technician Durand got the snake stuck and broke the pipe.
He ran water through the pipe to make sure the line was clear which ended up pooling in the downstairs bathroom ceiling. When he left is when I discovered the damage.
Between calling the home warranty company and Pipedoctor247, I was able to get Durand back out. He fixed the broken pipe.
Durand apologized several times stating that "things happen". I was then instructed to call the girls in the office and they would let me know how to proceed to get the damages fixed.
After several days of calling their office I finally got someone to call me back and they stated that they would have to talk to their supervisor and call me back. After several more days of calling them back I finally got someone to answer and they told me that the technician was going to be responsible for fixing the damages.
After several more days and phone calls I was told that the technician had contacted a contractor to fix the sheetrock and they should be contacting me. That contact was never made so I called back again and offered to have a contractor fix the damage and bill Pipedoctor247 directly.
I was told by Tiffany that her supervisor authorized me to proceed. I got a quote and because I didn't trust that they would really pay the sheetrock contractor, I sent them a copy of the quote.
I then received an email from the owner of Pipedoctor247, Mr. Josh Beck RMP 42363, stating that they were not responsible for the damages no matter what the technician said and that Tiffany was no longer with the company (I had just talked to her 2hrs.
earlier). Now we're stuck with the cost of the repairs.
Steer clear of this company and if your home warranty company tries to send them to your house, make them send someone else. Pass on these guys! only interested in the $75 cash service fee.
I learned a lesson about trying out my home warranty coverage. Our water heater broke almost two weeks ago.
They came out the same day to assess the situation and recommended a new unit. They sent the assessment to our home warranty company.
Our home warranty company's process was atrocious but I found every interaction we had with the Pipe Doctor's staff to be pleasant, helpful and professional. When the install day finally came, 8 days after the initial call, Blair, the tech, removed our old unit and then told me that our new unit wasn't up to par so he took it back, got another one the same day and installed it.
He even walked my husband through some upgrades and processes for us to be aware of going forward. I truly appreciate the extreme professionalism of this company and I would recommend them to anyone going through something similar.
Supposedly after about an hour of a leaking pipe on a connecting hose between 2 water heaters, both water heaters (one is 3 years old) are toast as is the recirculating pump and the cost... wait for it...
$6,279 to replace 2 water heaters!!! Additionally technician told the warranty company it was a leak in the water line (not true) so the warranty company won't cover. Now getting another plumber to get a real assessment and quote.
This is a company that uses warranty calls as a feeder line to feed it's sub-standard business. Avoid.
My experience was the same as everyone else's. They wanted cash and did a poor job and I was also stuck with them due to Home Warranty of America (who, it turns out, as over 1600 publically viewable complaints against them with the Better Business Bureau themselves).
FWIW, if HWA sticks you with them, too, they will not budge on your having to have them come out, but you have the right to get a second company to come out and resolve the issue. If I could give this company 0 stars I would! They just tried to completely scam and rip us off! Run! Run! Run! Stay clear of this company.
Here is the text and voicemail I got from them. Appears that they do this often.
We had an independent come out and confirmed these guys are well known for their "up charges" hence my look on Yelp and wow glad I wasn't the only one however feel the need to rate so hopefully save someone from this scam! Hello this is Pipe Doctor 24/7 calling regarding your home warranty work order the breakdown:Wood $100 Code item emergency shut off $325 Permit $125 Drain modification $110 Temp and pressure modification $90 Water line modification $149 Electrical modification $225 Vacuum breaker modification $65 Expansion tank piping modification $195 Total: $1384 this can be paid by cash, cashiers check, venmo, zelle or cash app. Once we confirm payment and the purchase order we can get you back on the schedule.
Thank you My home warranty company recommended Pipe Doctor 247 but I am disappointed with the company. The plumber jumped to conclusions prematurely and was quick to recommend repairs that he estimated at $1750 to $2200 to fix which another plumber did for under $200.
That's right- ten times higher than what it should have cost! He recommended running a new pipe around the house and through some walls but the other plumber was able to clear the blockage and verified the pipes were now in great condition. When I asked Pipe Doctor 247 why they wouldn't go through the crawl space he said that no one could fit under the house.
I knew this was not true because I have had a plumber and my home inspector go under there in the past. He claimed that the pipe could not be cleared, but he did not seem to even try.
The other plumber cleared the blockage in no time at all. This plumber seemed quick to jump to conclusions based on incomplete information and recommended the most expensive option rather than the best option.
Shame on Cinch Home Warranty Services for sending out PipeDoctor247 to fix my garbage disposal. Blair of PipeDoctor spent 3 minutes to tell me I need a new disposal for $489.
However tacked on a modification charge of $189 (which Cinch rejected) because they wanted to put on a different disposal brand. My old plumber said he could put on the same type of disposal plus his labor for $250.
PipeDoctor247 insisted they needed to put on a totally different type of disposal and charge for the modification change. These people are the worst I've ever dealt with.
Just take a look at this Yelp site. These people appear to be scammers to me.
Cinch Home Warranty should vett their repair companies more closely. Can you give a negative number of stars? We have had to use our home warranty twice for plumbing since buying a new home in Garland last Oct.
Both times the home warranty company sent out the same company, PipeDoctor247. The first time they refused to do any work because the pipe that was cracked was under the foundation.
We called another company and they cam out and did it with no problem. The second time was today.
We just have a sink in a bathroom that won't drain. I used Liquid Plumber in the drain to try to fix it myself, but that didn't work, so we called the plumber through the warranty company.
The guy gets here wreaking of cigarette smoke and gets some of the liquid in the drain on his hand. He said it stung, so I reminded him that I had put Liquid Plumber down the drain.
He stated that he couldn't touch it because it would ruin his tools. He called his boss and that guy apparently agreed that he should not touch it.
He handed me an invoice and left without doing anything. It took them a week to come out for the first visit, and now he said that we have to go back through the office to book something else.
There is no telling how long that will take. In conclusion, DO NOT USE THIS PLUMBER!!! These guys work off home warranties scamming both the customer and the warranty company themselves.
Their business model is simple: 1) Get called out to a job, take the $75 deductible (cash only!). 2) Fabricated a work load to be done, the larger the better.
1) gets them 75$ for 10 minutes work, regardless. And if 2) comes in, they've a huge pay-out.
If 2) decline, no biggy, they just drove to someone's house and took the cash. There are no winners here, aside from them, but hopefully only until the warranty companies become wise to it.
The warranty company loses out anytime 2) happens, and the consumer loses out if it is just 1); a sincere repair request is declined because it was so marked up that it no longer appears as wear and tear to the warranty company. What an ugly way to make a living.
BTW 1) happened to us. A leaking faucet was specified as a full replacement and they also wanted to replace all the below sink piping and shut-off valves.
She said "electrolysis". And I'm not joking.
Why is there not a zero stars option? My late husband was a plumber. I know when things work and when they don't, how they work and in general, I know what needs to be done.
I moved into my house in November - completely flipped house - new sink, new pipes from the wall (not inside the wall - but front wall to to the sink). That sink has been draining very slowly since the day I moved in, but with Covid I was leery of having people in my house.
Finally called home warranty people and said I needed the sink and toilet snaked. Lately the toilet has been leaving little bits behind after a flush - not every single time with with increasing frequency.
This guy comes in my house - NO mask - pulls a little hair out from under the sink stopper and said that would fix my problem and that he couldn't re-create the issue with the toilet. I explained to him that the little bit of hair under the sink stopper thing was not causing my sink to be slow since I moved in when there had been not only no hair but literally nothing in the sink until November and explained that it was all new to the wall.
And also that my toilet was going to still be a problem. He said it was builder grade toilet and he couldn't do anything.
He left. Nothing fixed.
I'll have to call the Home Warranty people again and waste another entire day waiting. AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS.
Stay FAR, far away. This place seems to be a scam.
They essentially took my $75 trade call fee, did absolutely nothing, had me going in circles for week, went back on their word, then told me to just find another plumber. Horrible customer service.
They are so rude. They also rarely answer the phone.
I created a business for them in Round Rock because I did not initially find this listing, so read my detailed review there. But they also operate out of Round Rock, so good to have the listing there as well regardless.
https://www.yelp.com/biz/pipe-doctor-24-7-round-rock Do your homework. You can find consistent negative reviews saying the same thing and accusing them of scams or horrible customer service as well under various listings and names and locations on Yelp, BBB, Angies List, Homewarranty consumer review website, etc.
You can find them under Beck's Plumbing or PipeDoctor247. They have listings and reviews in the Austin area, Tyler, Tx, Ronoake, Tx, and in Detroit area.
License/RMP # 42363 They were out a little over a week ago. I went through a Home Warranty company.
First let me start by saying they are very difficult to get a hold of. Very rarely do they answer their phone.
The first problem occurred when they came out and could not find a clean out for my main sewer line. They said they would have to charge me an additional $275 for pulling a toilet and replacing it.
I looked at my warranty and it said I was covered. He said it did not cover it in this scenario.
It need to be unplugged so I forked over the $275. The next day my Home Warranty company sent an email for me to review how everything went.
I complained about having to pay the additional $275 out of pocket. Well guess what? The Warranty Company contacted me and told me that the toilet removal and replacement were supposed to be included in the repair and that they would send me a check for $275.
The guy who came out to do the work said they guarantee it for 30 days and to just call them direct to get it taken care of. Now today, 10 days later it is backing up again.
Apparently the guy doing the work did a half assed job. I called them to have them come back and now all of a sudden the guy who came out said he never told me that about the 30 day warranty.
Then Joe had the nerve to tell me they can come back out for $125 to diagnose the problem. Then they would tell me how much more it would be to fix the problem.
Why didn't they diagnose it the first time and make sure they did a good job? Probably because they didn't have to. Now my warranty company won't take care of it either saying they only snake the sewer line 1 time a year.
Whatever you do.... DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANYTHING!!!! The place seems like a scam to me.
I had a warranty company who was paying to buy and install a new water heater, and these guys wanted $2500 IN ADDITION to what the warranty company was paying them. I ended up getting the entire job done for about $2000, including the cost of the new water heater, which was less than just the add-ons that these guys wanted.
While their customer service folks were helpful, it seems to me that these guys have some sort of hustle going with the warranty companies, or at least with Cinch Home Services. This company will try to rob you or get as much money from you as possible.
they were send by my insurance. They do act very proffesional.
But they will try to screw you big time. Employee came to my house spend 3 to 5 minutes and told me i need a water heater.
send everything to my insurance with the following OUT-OF-POCKET COST. $325 Emergency shutoff $149 Waterline Modification $135 Electrical $110 Drain modification $ 65 Vaccum breaker When i email them to explain what it was they could never give a straight answer.
I even told them that my plumber already took care of everything. All they have to do is come and install the water heater.
They compleatly REFUSED they told me that they have to do it their way. In other words take off whatever my plumber put in there and put it back.
John Beck even told me that they DO NOT NEGOTIATE prices. I to have the email to prove it.
Did I mention that my insurance paid them to instal it too. My name is Sergio Saenz here is my email Sergiosaenz52@yahoo.com If I could give them zero or less than zero I sure would.
Our home warranty company sent them out for a water heater issue. Turns out it had a slow leak.
Thinking if the warranty company uses them they must be good, we went ahead and scheduled their tech, Blair, to come back the next day to install a tankless heater and "highly recommended " water filtration. The water heater works great.
The install was the issue. First big rain after install we found out Blair had not put the storm collar back down when we had water leaking in through where the collar Should have been into the house dripping through the smoke detector.
Fast forward a couple months, then BAM massive water leak. Requiring water remediation and repairs.
$2900 bill. On the advice of the insurance adjuster, I contacted Beck, sent them pictures etc.
They insisted it was not their fault and wanted to charge over $100 to come look/repair. Uhhhhh no thanks.
Home warranty sent a different (read better) plumber. This plumber confirmed it WAS an install issue, as Beck didn't even bother to use Teflon tape.
I have tried repeatedly to get ahold of someone who can possibly make this right at Beck and have been told for literally weeks now I cannot talk to anyone. Apparently nooooo supervisors in the office, and requests for a return call have not produced results.
Clearly they have NO intention of making things right. Do NOT hire them.
If in doubt go read their Facebook reviews. I am far from the only one unhappy!!!! This company is terrible! Do not use them, they will find every way to charge you and make up terminology and problems to charge for services you do not need.
They charged me the same amount for two different problems and collected money from the home warranty and collected extra from me. Advice , take the cash out and use it towards a company that answers their phone and doesn't charge 90.00 dollars for a 20.00 drip pan.
So bad, First American and their 2 vendors obviously are in collusion. Landmark HW assigned PipeDoctor 247 for my garbage disposal not working.
Within 5 minutes of "diagnosing" the issue, the technician claimed that it was missing a piece and this was not normal wear and tear and reported that to Landmark knowing full and well that they would not cover "missing pieces" claim. I requested photos proving any missing pieces.
None were provided. There are no missing pieces.
The unit is over 25 years old and has stopped working. PipeDoctor 247 is DISHONEST and is just collecting the service fee and fleecing the Home Warranty company as well as the home owners.
Stay away. We have a hot water heater problem.
It is a electric model. They were dispatched by "Home Warranty of America".
The person showed up, saw that the circuit breaker was tripped. Reset the circuit breaker and left.
Didn't wait long enough to see if they problem was fixed. Tried to blame it on sediment and wanted up sell to a flashing maintenance service.
We tried to call them back to fix it. Never returned our call.
The warranty company was unhelpful as well. Stay clear of both.
Buyer beware of this company. It appears to me that they lack the ability to fix the problem, or don't care to do so.
I would not even give a star, though required to do so. They were initially scheduled thru AIG, which is my home warranty company, scheduled on 01/17/22.
Their service provider, Josh Beck responded this morning. He apparently wasn't in a good mood and was even worse when I asked that he park on the opposite side of the driveway as my granddaughter was about to leave and his vehicle blocked her vehicle.
He entered the house without any tools, at which time I told him that the hot water line and or kitchen faucet was weaking. He turned on the water line under the stink, then looked, felt and then had me sign the work order, claiming that there was nothing wrong.
I told him what had occurred and what lead up to our request for a repair. He told me that the faucet was manufactured by Moen, and it was guaranteed for life.
He went on to say that if I wanted to, I could call Moen and request replacement parts and fix it myself, and then left. I left the water line open for five or so minutes and while doing so observed water omitting from the bottom portion of the faucet, exactly where I had told him it was leaking.
I called the company's phone number within 10 or so minutes and made them aware that the problem had not been properly addressed, hoping that the have the technician return. They initially didn't answer or respond to a voice mail message, or a text message sent to another of their numbers.
They eventually responded after a subsequent call was made, asking that I provide them a video of what was occurring. I complied to their request and sent a photograph and three videos, showing the water omitting from the faucet, water which was running down into and filling the sink.
They responded about an hour later after having sent my videos to "management". Someone in management later responded, saying that I should recontact AIG and have them reschedule their company so they can reassess the problem.
I have since taken the time to read other reviews and have determined that this company has a POOR rating. the plumber sdid an outstanding job fixing the tub and was super fast and courteous, definitely would recommend Another bad review for this company sent to me by Landmark Home Warranty.
They came out to fix a water heater leak and said my unit needs to be replaced. Well the plumber left my water heater off and I'm not sure what they did but we can't restart the pilot light.
He also didn't tell us he had turned the unit off and left it that way. We can't figure out how to restart it.
So now, I've got a newborn and family here who quarantined to spend thanksgiving with us and we've got no hot water for people to shower, run the dishwasher, etc. And due to covid, it's not exactly easy to go run to a neighbor to shower.
Now that I've read these horrible reviews, I'm really nervous about having this company do the water heater replacement as well. Very disappointed in this company already and hope the rest of my repair is more successful but based on the reviews I'm seeing here, I'm not feeling great.
Will update after the replacement is complete. Beverly was lovely to work with and diagnosed my issue quickly.
Saved me from a lot of worry. My home warranty initially sent a plumber here to clear a drain.
He said my lines needed to be hydro jetted(false) at which point they sent pipe doctor 24/7. After about 4 minutes of trying to get his snake through the drain to no avail the technician said there was a blockage and I needed to install a 375-dollar clean out which was not covered by the home warranty.
When I asked if this was a guaranteed fix ,they said no. Fortunately the home warranty allowed me to get another plumber that quickly diagnosed a clog further down the line, snaked the drain and it is now perfect.
Easy fix. I can only imagine the poor people who fall for these tactics and continually pay exorbitant fees to crooked technicians for unnecessary work.
Just imagine what would happen after the clean out didn't work. Replumb the entire house? Called way earlier than the appointment and never showed up.
Tried to call their office and cell 5 times. Now we have to book someone new after waiting for 2 days for this appointment.
All the other one-star reviews seem on point, stay away. After reading the reviews here, I must say our experience was quite consistent, although slightly different.
Recently purchased a house, paid for a slightly more expensive home warranty company, on the walk through post purchasing the house we find a leak in an attic hot water heater, which is dripping through a ceiling into floor below. Proceed to get a plumber out asap to shut off the leak, tells me the hot water heater has to be replaced, puts in a bypass to prevent more leaking and I pay him and leave.
THEN we file the claim with the warranty company, they send out the PipeDoctor, pay the $75 cash. Plumber verbally acknowledges the same problem the other plumber did, indicating it needs to be replaced, but since the valve has been bypassed to prevent future leaking, states he cannot formally diagnose the problem to allow the claim to continue with the warranty company....I should also note that his paperwork didn't indicate the need to replace it and the faulty valve....so as far as the home warranty company is concerned, there is nothing they can do...this is the "process".
THEN tells us that in order to undo the bypass (ie turn the leak BACK on), we need to pay them $685 to complete this repair BEFORE They could diagnose the problem (again, already visually confirmed by the plumber what the other, original plumber diagnosed), I should mention that the other plumber who came late on a Saturday night and did another repair job for us charged $450 total to bypass the faulty valve. Bottom line, PipeDoctor is brazenly engaging in bait and switch tactics on unsuspecting clients that are under duress dealing with a home maintenance issue, self-dealing expensive and unnecessary maintenance and services, on behalf of a warranty company whose ENTIRE business model is to make people give up on filing claims by making their process and the companies that do work for them as painful and drawn out as possible.
In general, stay as far away from all service companies that do work for warranty companies as possible, but I have to give a gold star to The Pipe Doctor for taking it to the next level. I am very disappointed in Pipe Doctor 247.
They were sent to my home on 9/2/2020 to look at my faulty water heater. We have been relighting the pilot light several times a day for the last few weeks.
Since we had the pilot light lit when the technician arrived, he said that he could not do anything for us. He recommended to add more ventilation for the water heater closet.
He asked us to cut a hole in the door and add vents to the closet door. He said this would solve the problem, but if it doesn't, he would need to come back and check a few other things.
I asked him to check the unit anyway and see if there were any other findings before he left. He said that he did, but we added the ventilation like he recommended and the unit turned off again.
At this point, we were not able to relight the unit. I called them back on 9/4/2020.
I did not receive any response from them at all. I called their phone number (833)747-3377 again on 9/8/2020; the agent on the phone said that she would touch base with the technician and have them call me right away.
I called back later that afternoon after not hearing anything and no one answered. I called again on 9/9/2020 and again she told me that she would call the technician ASAP and get back to me within the hour.
I never heard from them. I continued to leave messages for them on 9/9/2020 and two on 9/10/2020 with no response.
They requested cash upon the service call, but I usually pay through my warranty company. I am glad I do because based on the other reviews, it seems like they cannot be trusted.
I plan on posting this review with several places including my home warranty company and the better business bureau. I would not recommend Pipe Doctor 247.
I waited 2 weeks for scheduled time. The tech showed up and gave every impression he didn't want to be here.
After discussing my issues, he said it would be a large retro fit. I asked him to at least look at the issue and he begrudgingly went upstairs.
As we got to the room with the issue he didn't even go inside. Instead he said he knew exactly what it would take to fix and handed me a $2500 estimate.
Very disappointed to say the least. Person who came to our house was SO rude! Acted like he had better things to do than his job.
Was short with my husband and me and he kept ignoring our questions so we had to ask him multiple times. Will not be using this company EVER again.
Adjust your attitude guys! - Never use this company. - No minus star? The worst experience.
- I enrolled Yelp to share my warning. Just took my money and did not share why home warranty does not cover.
At least, the reason why it is not covered should be shared in reasonable time before we are waiting for a few hours. In addition, that guy did not wear masks which is not acceptable during pandemic.'''.
