I have used Austex Sprinklers for several years for my irrigation management and repair. Everyone they send to complete the work is highly trained and provides uncompromising service.
Today their technician Tom was very professional, cordial and offered (solicited) advice. He's an excellent example of the level of service you can expect from Austex.
Fantastic service! They were a bit booked (had to schedule 2 weeks out) but the technician fixed my two broken pipes and drip pipe within an hour at an insanely low rate. While they couldn't fix all the problems since a different company had broken my sprinkler pipes in more than 2 places, they absolutely did a great job which is a rarity in this space.

I could not get the system to run and called them out. A switch was off.
Yet the service tech continued and found a problem with a nozzle and replaced it. However, they did not check the system for leaks.

so this is how you get a call back- don't pay. It was practically impossible to get an appointment in the first place! Upon speaking to the rep I learned I should have asked for an inspection and not a repair.
I had asked for neither just stated the facts. I figure when you call a specialist it's because you don't have the knowledge yourself.
Here we are being asked to make another appointment because I did not ask for inspection. So...
if you are lucky enough to get through for an appointment don't tell them anything is wrong with your system. Just tell them you want an inspection.
Offer no other info and be sure to check the problem you called about in the first place before they leave your site to make sure they caught it and addressed it. Very disappointed! Looking for another service provider....
I would recommend Austex! We didn't have the best experience with the first technician- he lacked professionalism and didn't finish the job. (We needed a few sprinkler heads replaced and he didn't have the parts).
After speaking with Logan (manager?) we came up with a plan to have someone back out and they were very fair/reasonable with the billing so I didn't get stuck with a big 2 visit bill for something that should have been completed in one visit. The second technician was great, communicated well, completed the job promptly and even found a second issue he was able to quickly fix.
I don't do reviews often, but I'm glad I gave them a second chance. We're all human and can't have the best day everyday.
Overall, they were professional and did a great job. Austex sprinklers did an awesome job fixing busted pipes from the freeze and made sure all sprinklers were working.
They work hourly plus parts which was hundreds less expensive than the other company we originally hired. We will definitely be calling them again when we are ready to install sprinklers in our new homes.

Thank you Jennifer and Anthony! As most of you may be aware by now, most companies of this nature are backlogged by several weeks. Regardless, booked an appointment with them to repair a damaged ( non functional ) sprinkler line and to replace several defective sprinkler heads.
We worked with Anthony as the service technician. Anthony was amiable, knowledgeable and patient in regards to diagnosing some issues, making recommendations and answering numerous other related questions.
The quality of the work was excellent and the end result was better than expected. I would recommend the team to my friends and cohorts.
FWIW he also re aligned numerous sprinkler heads so I believe I will get far superior coverage then previously. Tom replaced our sprinkler controller with the ease that comes from expertise and experience.
He didn't bring the right drill and bits (left in another truck), but I lent him mine and it was no problem. While testing the sprinklers, he unclogged several and he and his partner replaced a popup that was buried too deep.

They thought they would have to replace an expensive back flow valve. But once the area was exposed they fixed the leak at a much less expensive than first thought.
This company is honest and very customer centric! Ryan came by to install new controller and service existing system. He walked me around the house and showed me areas of concern that we could address in the future as well as some ideas about landscaping.

Great job I called Austex Sprinklers for a second opinion after a different provider wanted to replace a bunch of parts in the irrigation system of my rental property. Throughout the process they were professional and responsive: from the person who answered my phone call to the one who chatted with me on Yelp to schedule and of course the person who came by to diagnose and fix the issue.
The fix that they offered was way simpler and cheaper than what the previous provider recommended and the tenant confirmed that everything is working great. Hopefully no further service is required any time soon but if another issue occur in then future, I'll for sure use their services again.
We were having our fence repaired & the fence company broke an irrigation pipe. I called Austex Sprinklers & they came out right away fixed the pipe so the fence project can continue.
I was so happy with their service I booked an irrigation inspection too! Austin Sprinklers was the lowest bidder. They didn't require to inspect my irrigation system for $200 like other companies.
They were quick and easy to work with from estimate, to scheduling, to change orders and dates, to installation. They did excellent work except that they buried flags and old irrigation equipment where they installed our new irrigation zone.

I have been using Austex for several years now, most recently two of zones were not turning off. Chris came by to help me out at the time scheduled, he went about investigating and within a few minutes he figured out what the issue was and explained to me why the issue was happening.
Chris not only fixed the issue but went above and beyond by preventing it from happening again and most importantly taught me what to look for in case the issue arose again. Super service! Thank you Chris!! Cant say enough about this company! Installed my sprinkler system in a day and a half on a half acre and everything went smoothly! A few sprinkler heads had some issues and they came out within a few days and replaced them free of charge.
Also had a few issues with some of the trenches that had caved in due to the hot summer exposing some irrigation lines. Phil the owner was quick to respond and within a week out here and not only filled in the caved in trenches but also filled a few low spots with the extra dirt.
The exceptional level of customer service provided by this company has left me impressed! Top notch, high quality service. I have gone through 2 other spinkler companies before and they never get the job done correctly.

Austex Sprinklers installed soakers around our house in one day and we're very professional. They came out quickly and responded quickly and were also very friendly! Luciano showed up and was marvelous. I had a leak from a few years ago when Google Fiber tore up the streets.
I had had them come back twice to fix it, but apparently they didn't do a very good job gluing the PVC and it fell apart as if it wasn't glued. And I called Google Fiber later, they were very nice, but aren't responsible for leaks over a year old.
Well at least I asked. I should have checked their work more carefully at the time, particularly since they had to come at least twice.
Luciano fixed it properly, then inspected my whole system (which I'm no longer going to "assume" is working again). He adjusted it properly, made a few minor changes to the timer (he knows more about this than I do) and did it all quickly and professionally.
The price was fair too. I'm certainly going to continue to use Austex.
The Austex Sprinklers people were terrific. Our automatic sprinkler system had not worked in weeks.
They had someone come out to look at it soon after we called. Josh rapidly diagnosed the problem (a failed controller unit) and installed a replacement.
In the course of the inspection, he found a few other minor issues that he was also able to fix. He was fast and very professional, getting the system up and running perfectly within an hour.

I was amazed at how quickly Austex Sprinkler responded to our call for help on a leak at my home. It was just after we had our recent big freeze in late January early February and I know they had to be busy.

I wanted to replace my existing sprinkler controller with a Rachio smart controller but couldn't figure out how to remove the existing unit. Austex was quick to reply with a reasonable quote so I scheduled an appointment out.
The initial date was several weeks out, not ideal but understandable with the various issues going on in the world right now. I received a call yesterday, letting me know they could squeeze me in due to a cancellation (a week and a half before my scheduled appointment).
I said yes, and was very pleased with the service provided. The tech they sent was super patient and helped with setting up zones in the Rachio app (which I've had some experience with previously, but it was super helpful as he let me know the exact sprinkler types to put into the app which I wouldn't have known otherwise).
Even if I had to wait another week it would have been worth the wait. Highly recommend.

We've been in the house three years, but only had one zone of our sprinkler system functioning, so we needed a system check-up as a level set and an obvious repair for a pitchfork-inflicted leak. Ian was super patient, efficient and got the whole of the system back online again.
Got a bit frisky again with the pitchfork, so...I may need another visit...parts for drip tubing are not easily available. Okay - so this rating is simply for the responsiveness of the company.

Jack came out to give a complete system check and repair a dead zone. He found the buried valve, replaced it and suggested i replace 3 sprinkler heads to ensure coverage.
He was very polite and courteous. The bill was way below what I thought it was going to be.
I scheduled a week and a half out before they could come but it as worth the wait plus Jack arrived almost exactly at his 1:30 pm scheduled appointment time. WONDERFUL BUSINESS!!!!! We had an awful, horrible sprinkler system that stressed me out, to the extreme, for 10 years and had massive catastrophic leaks over and over.
I called a popular sprinkler company and they wanted to charge me almost 3 times what Austex Sprinklers charged us, and that was just for some upgrades with our existing system...Austex put in an entirely new system! Austex Sprinklers did an amazing job, in fact, you almost can't even tell they were here! I was expecting our yard to be destroyed since they were putting in a whole new sprinkler system, and they put everything back together so nicely! The sprinkler system has the latest technology and great coverage! The owner, Phil, is definitely a stand-up guy. We did have to pay a deposit up front...I was a bit nervous about that since I really didn't know the company at all, and I didn't see anything about anyone else in their reviews discussing the deposit.
I went out on a leap of faith and paid the deposit which was 50% of the job, and they showed up promptly and on the day they said they would. We have a huge yard, and they finished the job in 1.5 days.

Anthony was courteous, answered all our questions and did the required work in a timely fashion. He even repaired another leak in the drip line that we were unaware of.

I paid Austex $150 to check my sprinkler system coverage. A couple of weeks later I found that 4 or 5 heads were not coming up at all, causing dry spot on the lawn.
They agreed to send another tech out a full week later (no urgency to correct the issue). The tech showed up almost an hour and half late with no call or message.
I gave up after some time and had already left. No one from Austex called or followed up with me.
I later asked for a refund but was refused by their management. After several emails they called and offered me something like $40 back.
I would highly recommend trying someone else. Called Austex to put sprinklers in our large corner lot in Buda.

It was not the cheapest but when I looked at the reviews of all the companies who had quoted me Austex was the best. I liked the fact he was local, good review history and he is the owner.
I always like dealing with the owner they have skin in the game and want to make sure the job is done correctly. The process took a bit more than a day.
It scared me at times when I looked outside and saw my yard but when they were done everything was cleaned and back to normal except for the cut lines where they installed the pipes. When the install crew left I got a call from a foreman for an initialization meeting where they come out and walk you through everything that was great to get the system set up properly.
Billing and everything was online which was great as well. I would highly recommend Phil and his team at Austex for any sprinkler work.
I was extremely disappointed at the way this job was handled. I was charged hundreds of dollars for a leak that was not fixed.
Only after the fact were we informed that their company does not perform this scope of work because the leak was originating under the driveway. The estimate process is there precisely to prevent this type of situation.
If the initial estimator had done a proper inspection of the job site (and by the way, he KNEW that the mainline leak was from under the driveway because he was the one who saw the flood come up from the driveway cracks), he should have told us immediately that they weren't equipped to fix this type of leak. This would have been perfectly acceptable.
We would have just moved on and picked a different company. But by providing an estimate and accepting the work, they made a commitment to fix the leak, and only afterwards informed us that it would be "impossible" for them.
And had the audacity to try to charge us the full estimate amount for something that most certainly wasn't resolved. By the way, another irrigation company came out to quote and gave us a perfectly acceptable option of rerouting the other zones on the opposite side of the driveway through another water line.
If their techs were properly trained (the estimator pretty much admitted that he was new to the company), they should have offered this as an option and kept the job. For such a highly rated company, this was truly a horrendous experience.
I would stay away if you have any complicated sprinkler issues. Good workmanship.
Good value. They could be a little better at corresponding, but given that every other sprinkler company I called flaked out on me they are forgiven for not responding to inquiries promptly.

We had a big landscaping project and needed sprinklers and sod installed. I reached out to Austex for an estimate and Phil, the owner, came to our house to do the estimate the next day, and he got back to us quickly with a quote.
I got a few quotes and Austex was the most competitive based on the amount of sprinkler zones included for the price. Installation was scheduled pretty quickly and it only took a day to install, which blew my mind! There was a minor snafu with the sod installation, but Phil was quick to respond and his crew did a great job of fixing the error and meeting our expectations.
He also sold us on the Rachio smart mobile app sprinkler system which we love because we can manage our sprinklers from our phones, which is super convenient! I would definitely recommend working with Austex, great communication, fair pricing, great team, and very responsive. (photos to come soon when fence is finished!) We had Austex Sprinklers put in a few french drains and haul a couple of yards of river rock out of our home in south Austin earlier this spring in April.
After the initial installation there was a bit of miscommunication between myself and the company over purchased sod, and while there was some initial frustration, Phil and his team did a great job of responding and getting us the agreed upon materials. After a month or so, we were having some flooding issues in the area in which they installed the initial system, ultimately Joseph and his team came out and in one day added two more drains and helped fix some issues with the initial installation.
We've had two heavy downpours since and as of now have yet to have any other flooding problems. While it took some time to get to a finished product, Phil and the rest of the team at Austex were great at resolving conflicts and providing a work product that I appreciate.

He took the time to listen to my previous troubleshooting attempts, seemed to really want to understand my concerns and hopes, and even took time, once he had started work in earnest, to answer any questions that I might have walked up with.
In about 2 hours, Tony had performed the following repairs: 1) repaired/rerouted ruptured underground water pipe, 2) repaired a severed electrical connection, 3) performed electrical troubleshooting of an existing Hunter controller, 4) documented existing connections/zones, and removed/replaced bad Hunter controller, 5) tested out all previously working zones, 6) repaired a broken underground soaker hose on the "street strip" by the sidewalk, and finally 7) programmed the new controller with the correct date/time, and established a baseline watering program, in case I didn't want to go out there and mess with programming it myself (spoiler alert: I'm going to be messing with the programming anyways, since I like that stuff). All in all, my experience with Austex was a very pleasant surprise, and I will absolutely be calling on them again if I should need repairs or upgrades in the future.

Joseph from Austex Sprinklers came out to inspect and diagnose our home sprinkler system zones. The situation would end up requiring a licensed plumber for my issue (replacing the PRV), but he gave great guidance on what would be needed for that service and what to expect.
He was patient and professional and I'll definitely be requesting him to come out the next time I schedule an Austex service. We needed some repairs done after the freeze.
They were quick, efficient and responsive! Highly recommend! Josh is a true professional. He called me the day of service, and asked if he could come out SOONER than my appointment time! He replaced my old Hunter Pro-C system with a brand-new Rachio Series 3 system with an outdoor enclosure.
He then walked me through installing the Rachio app, setting up the zones, schedules, etc. Josh has been out to our house before, and I look forward to having him back out again.

The technician arrived on time to assess the issue with the sprinkler head that we thought had broken. He spent a few minutes, cleared the head of built up muck and he no-charged us.

We were referred to Austex by a local business because we were having a lot of issues in our new construction home with standing water in low spots in the back yard and between houses, inconsistent landscape irrigation, and gutter water that added to the problem. Our lead tech was Joseph, who did a fantastic job identifying the problem areas and making recommendations, which included installing a french drain system to carry away water from the low areas and gutter spouts.
He showed us how our irrigation schedule was compounding our problems...too much water in some spots, not enough in others, water pouring into our neighbor's yard creating a muddy mess for them! Now in just a few short weeks our lawn has shown remarkable recovery, the animals aren't tracking a mess onto the porch and house, and we're using water much more effectively.
