Review and analyze now for company Drainmen Plumbing and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''We just purchased a home and discovered that the upstairs shower and sink were experiencing intermittent periods of low water pressure combined with periods of 5 to 15 seconds when the water flow seems to completely stop. I selected Drainman because of the strong ratings on Yelp, and I was very happy with the outcome of the repair.
Mike Ammouri, the very friendly and knowledgeable owner, came to our home to diagnose the problem on a Sunday... which was amazing in itself.
Mike went through a series of troubleshooting tests to determine that the pressure in the old part of our house was fine. He also looked at the plumbing lines going into the new part of the house where the upstairs shower and sink are located, and he reported that everything looked fine.
That left the water tank itself. He went upstairs with me and we conducted a few tests and he then concluded that our water holding tank was too small, thereby causing the pump to cycle on and off.
It was during those cyclings that we were experiencing the severe drop down in water flow. He came out on a Sunday, provided what seemed to be an accurate diagnosis, he charged me nothing, and he's going to provide a quote for the work.
On top of that, I got a new showerhead thrown in for free. A client of mine used Drainmen Plumbing for a sewer lateral repair.
They were very happy with the communication, fast service and most importantly price. I decide to refer another client to them and they are very happy with them as well.
They assessed the situation and saved my clients money. Happy to continue referring to Drainmen in the future.
Great customer service to set up the visit and it was only exceeded but the professional service received at the house by John Citron. John took time to understand the issues and talk how to for best results and price.
Highly recommend for any plumbing needs and will definitely call for next repair. Hands down they are the best plumbing service you can get in the East Norriton/Norristown area.
We moved here in Nov 2020 and needed a plumber almost immediately. We tried two different services recommended to us but were not impressed.
Finally we called Drainmen for a well issue and have been using them ever since. All of the technicians are knowledgeable and courteous.
Everyone has taken the time to talk with us and explain what is going on. Prices were very reasonable.
Again if you live in the East Norriton/Norristown area this is the company you should be using for your plumbing needs. Awful! Stay clear of this place.
Do not risk it. I had a staff member come on Tuesday, 9/5/23.
The "window period" was 6-8pm. 8PM came and no call or person @ my home.
I understand jobs get busy and people get backed up, but at least provide a courtesy call. I called the company and received hesitancy and "he'll be there, he's behind." At least another hour passed.
I needed 2 jobs done, and I thought it'd be an "easy fix" as the person indicated it was so for one of the jobs. The 2nd job turned into a disaster.
The employee was here for quite some time and snaked a pipe for quite a while and "got some mud" in return. Also put a garden hose down the pipe.
Left the room when the pipe backed up and I had water all on the floor when he came running back indicating, "What's going on??". Estimates given to me to fix everything were ranging from $3,500 to $6,500 "maybe up to $10,000".
NOTHING was fixed, I was advised I'd get an email from the supervisor with estimates, and the employee left abruptly. I received a generic email to schedule a follow-up appointment (WHY would I?!), a follow-up phone call to schedule another visit EIGHT DAYS later, and I am left with a big mess now.
PLEASE do yourself a favor and AVOID this company as the service was terrible from beginning to end. I am now left with the consequences and I just would like to prevent this from happening to others.
It's been a disaster for me and frankly, quite sad. Update: I had occasion to call Drainmen again.
I was thrilled the dispatcher called me right back, even though it was after hours. The next day Jack and another guy came to assess our issue, gave us a quote and told us they could do the repair the day after next, even though it was a weekend morning.
They arrived promptly! First thing! They anticipated what to do if things were worse off when they cracked everything open and came prepared for anything. Happily, it was exactly as they assessed initially! They wrapped up almost an hour early! The job was well done! Really excellent! We shouldn't have to worry about our tub drain for years to come! Thank you, Jack! And thank you, Drainmen Plumbing! You're forever our plumbers! Jack from Drainmen came late one evening to assess a leak from the kids bathroom onto the kitchen ceiling.
Gave an estimate, and scheduled a time to come back within 48 hrs. Found a solution and fixed the leak.
Great craftsmanship, reasonable pricing and honesty from Jack make these guys recommended highly from me. This plumbing company was originally contracted through my insurance agency.
There were communication problems but I overlooked it. I then hired outside of my insurance problem to do a major job for me.
The home is vacant and several times I tried to make arrangements for someone to be there for them to show up. Having my daughter take off work and they didn't show.
I originally talked to the worker in the office to try to hire them. She said she understood the urgency and would get back to me as soon as possible.
Well 2 weeks later I called and asked if she had an answer. She asked me to refresh her memory and she called the owner and he got back to me about the job.
He seemed like a very nice person and had my best interest at heart. He assured me that the job I was paying for was total cost from excavation to planting grass etc.
I hired them even though I was still having communication problems. I was working against the clock due to winter weather.
After several times of we will be there. I would call the night before and everything is a go I was told, to find the next morning I get a call "sorry we don't have the part needed" Now who schedules a major job without the major part? Then I finally have the joint placed and I think the job is done.
Only to find this PVC pipe sticking up in the middle of the yard with no cap on it. Wide open to the elements.
No seed or straw just one big mud pit. I called several times and they ignored me.
Well now, they already were paid. Then a few feet of snow comes I had a bucket placed over the open pipe.
I called again left messages. The snow melted still no response as to when I could expect the job to be finished.
The owner seemed to be a nice caring guy. I was duped.
The job still is not complete. Don't be taken in by what seemed to be a charming caring owner.
Obviously no pride in his work. Mike from Drainmen was referred to me by his brother who is an electrician.
I just purchased my first property and I had 3 plumbing issues that needed to be addressed. My inspector noted a slow flush in the half bathroom.
When Mike arrived on time he checked the toilet and said the pressure was good and the tank itself was good size. The second item on the report was a loose metal plate that covers the shower pipe coming out of the wall.
There was also space between the pipe and the drywall that needed to be filled in. I asked him if I could just do it myself with some clear silicone and he said sure.
It worked great. Lastly there were some exit pipes from the tub that still haven't been changed over to PVC and were showing some corrosion according to the inspector.
Mike said he didn't feel it was that corroded and certainly didn't need to be replaced right away. That was nice to hear since it's about a $500 job.
When he was getting ready to go I asked him how much I owed him and he said don't worry about. He wouldn't even take $50 just for coming out from Pottstown to Eagleville.
How many plumbers or service people in any industry would tell you that you don't need any repairs when you have called them in specifically to fix something. That's the right answer.
Not very many. Do yourself a favor and give Drainmen a shot for your next plumbing repair.
You won't be disappointed. Jack from Drainmen came out and fixed our leaking water problem in less than an hour.
He was knowledgeable and explained everything he did. Our well stopped working at 8:00 on a Friday, did a Google search and called the number on the website.
Mike answered while celebrating his daughters birthday and he walked us through trouble shooting, both electrical and checking depth/water level of our well and diagnosed over the phone. Ran to Lowe's 10 minutes before closing to get the $75 part Mike recommended and it fixed the issue.
Mike saved us tons of stress, time and money with his great customer service. Mike will definitely be our well guy going forward.
Thank you so much! This is the plumbing company you are looking for. They addressed a bunch of issues we had (drain issues, faucet repair, toilet issue) quickly and correctly.
Jack was great to work with and very thoughtful about creating long-term solutions to these issues . Definitely recommend! DONOT LET THIS COMPANY IN YOUR HOME.
They are not knowledgeable, they will leave you with more problems than you started with & very dishonest. They came for a clogged kitchen drain & left me with a water mess then promise to compensate & never did.
They wanted to dig up the concrete in my home & that was not even necessary. They left without resolving the issue.
Thank goodness I have some common sense I got another company out. I regret letting them in my home.
The owner Mike does not stick to his word about a very unsatisfactory service & customer. He can care less that I'm unhappy with the quality of work provided! The other company came out & fixed the problem just by snaking it & guess what NO water mess.
Do not use this company!! They are scammers. Came out to my moms house 3 hours late, didn't even solve the problem and still charged her $125.
When we called to dispute they were rude and mean. Don't use this company, nothing but a bunch of thieves.
Wow, they were here within 15 minutes of my call. Work was first rate! Plumbers were very knowledgeable.
Problem was fixed! Drainmen came out for emergency service of a clogged pipe. They gave an accurate estimate of the time they were going to be arriving.
It was pouring rain so we were thankful they automatically removed their shoes (which was awesome because we had just gotten our carpets cleaned!) :) They worked quickly and the pipes were unclogged in less than 1/2 hour! The price was very reasonable. They even gave advice for how to avoid clogged pipes in the future and guaranteed the work for 3 months.
Thanks again! Recently had Mike Ammouri from Drainmen Plumbing out for emergency service. The service I received was prompt, friendly, clean, and fair.
He is truly a Master Plumber. He solved my problem, explained all of his actions in great detail and gave me advice for future prevention.
I highly recommend this company. Thanks again Mike! They just left my house! Problem resolved in a matter of 20 minutes.
On time, clean and great communicators. We used them through aqua home serve and were so happy!!!! Would recommend as independent of home serve too.
Great job!!!! No problem. They showed up on time.
Did the work, and did not leave a mess behind. I thing they are a bit expensive, but if you need them, you need them.
There on time and did a fantastic job replacing my sewer line , reasonable price compared to other companies where they're price hit the roof , drainmen are very professional Very knowledgeable I recommend them to any one I know . 10 star company Prompt , reliable , HONEST , and in addition to doing a first class job , actually cares about his customers .
Try finding that anywhere else . His prices are the best you will find and he doesn't do it by using cheaper materials and cutting corners .
Thanks , Mike , for the great job you and your men did for me . David'''.
