Review and analyze now for company Master Service Plumbing and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''*UPDATED - They have been in contact and have rectified the original bad communication situation, and have explained why what happened, happened Original Review - HIDIOUS COMMUNICATION and They STILL Cannot and Won't Answer SIMPLE Questions about our Invoice. The most ridiculous thing is that we called another plumber to come out to do the same thing we wanted Master Plumbing to look at, they actually called before the service call to let us know they were coming (SUPER IMPORTANT POINT, WE STRESSED MULTIPLE TIMES TO Master Plumbing, and they STRAIGHT UP IGNORED OUR REQUEST - So important when you have a woman that's alone in the house, AS WELL AS needing to actually explain important details of what was going on to the plumber) Their inability to follow the simplest of instructions has caused numerous issues.
For example, they promised to call before arriving at our house, but they never did, nor did they show up to our knowledge. Yet, they still billed us (months later!) Multiple follow-ups - but they NEVER returned an email, just keep sending emails saying they are sending us to collections.
UNBELIEVABLY UNPROFESSIONAL Despite our attempts to contact them through 5 emails and 2 phone calls, they have not responded. Instead, they continue to send threatening emails for collections, even though they have not communicated with us since the initial booking call.
Great family owned business. They came in short notice and fixed the problem other plumbers couldn't.
They are pricey, but in my opinion you get what you pay for and they were very upfront about costs. No surprises, great service and would recommend Master Service Plumbing didn't meet our expectations as they didn't finish contracted work, yet billed for the work.
I would not recommend them. Wow! Well I will start with the positive, the staff was kind and professional.
Next, the cost was SO EXPENSIVE for a simple fix. A part that would cost approximately $65, they charged me $134.
The amount of time spent at my home was about an hour (and that's being generous). Charged me for 3.5 hours of labor for drive time, he didn't have the part in his truck, so I had to pay him also to go pick up the overpriced part.
Then the gentleman spent 40 minutes in his truck writing up the invoice because he was having issues with the smart phone he was trying to use. He stated he wishes they had tablets instead of the small phone.
I didn't receive an invoice emailed as he indicated I would. So I had to call the office to receive one.
When I requested the invoice it was not very detailed on the actual job. The most detail on my invoice was what I called about explaining our issue.
So I had to call to get more information of what I was actually charged for. I was recommended to Master Service because they give military discounts.
Not much of a discount when they up-charge everything. Very disappointing.
Nightmare. Rip off.
Unprofessional. Rude abusive behavior.
Left mess after messing up repair. Had to later hire good plumber to correct their work.
A total rip off and unprofessional, aggressive business. Southwest Gas cut us off because there was a gas leak somewhere in the house line, not related to gas appliances.
I made an appointment with this company to find and fix the leak. A few minutes later I cancelled the appointment because our neighbor brought in a local plumber to see if he could help.
Nevertheless, a plumber from Master Service Plumbing called me right away, asking to talk to that guy, and pushed him away. He also convinced me that this type of work requires lots of experience and very special equipment.
So, he came. He capped off three appliances to check for a gas leak and ran tests after which he confirmed that our house line has a leak.
Really?! Wasn't that why I contacted you guys in the first place? He suggested to re-pipe the entire house instead of searching for the leak site in the walls because it might be "very difficult and the house may end up looking like Swiss cheese". Such a poor outcome from his visit was frustrating, but this was not the end of our extremely disappointing experience.
He charged me $605. The charge seemed outrageous, but I paid.
When the plumber left, I called their office to figure out how the 1.5 hours of fruitless work turned into such a ridiculously high invoice? The charge included 2 hours of "travel time" TO our house and BACK at their regular labor rate of $110/hr (the office is only 45 minutes away) PLUS their "out-of-town fee" ($75) PLUS two hours of labor (the guy was on site 1.5 hrs), and the materials $80+. The plumber called me after the office told him that I'm not happy with their "service".
He let me know that Marc, the owner, agreed to do a free estimate, as a courtesy, for re-piping the whole house. Pathetic.
Another company from Reno was able to locate the gas leak, fixed it, got all the permits, and took care of the inspection-all for $1K. What a difference! Master service is the best, I have used them for commercial and residential projects.
They show up on time, always greet me with a smile, techs are very knowledgeable and price is very fair. They have installed tankless water heaters, roof drains, appliances and water softeners for me.
They are my go to for all installs and their 24/7 emergency service is a bonus. I refer this family owned business as often as I can.
Thanks for always showing up Master service A Warning Re: Master Service Plumbing: One star, only because I can't give zero stars. All of my house drains were backing up.
Master Service Plumbing sent a plumber who was unable to snake my line as his machine would not turn on and was not adequate for my average length lateral sewer line. 1st plumber called a 2nd plumber to bring another machine.
Then 1st plumber spent 30 min snaking the line, while 2nd plumber just stood there. No obstructions were found in my lateral sewer line, and the drain issue was not resolved.
Plumber said he could do nothing more and that my house pipes need hydrojetting, which they do not do. So they are not "full service," as advertised.
They sent me a bill for $517.00 for ALL of the hours for BOTH plumbers, even though most of that time, plus the presence of the 2nd plumber, were the direct result of the 1st plumber arriving with faulty and inadequate equipment to do the job. I sent emails and a letter disputing the bill, and a check for the work actually done, which was their trip fee of $50.00 + 1 plumber x 30 min = $105.00.
My letter and check were documented by USPS tracking to have been delivered to them. Several weeks have passed and I have received no response to my letter, and they have not applied my payment to my account, even though the law requires payments be posted on the date received.
They have continued to send me invoices that do not reflect my payment, even after I followed the Consumer Credit representative's advice and have requested they cease and desist all collections activity for a debt in dispute. They are assessing 12% interest (which is excessive) and threatened to send me to collections.
Do not use this company. Master Service Plumbing installed my gas line for my new generator.
They were very professional, and I was grateful they did not 'pulverize' my pavers, but, instead, carefully removed them and stacked them neatly so we could replace them without calling a paving company with a large added expense. They were very quiet, hand shoveled the dirt.
Very neat. I am very satisfied with them, and I would definitely use them again.
Reasonably priced, fast and reliable. I have used them several times and I have always been pleased.
I will always call them for all my plumbing needs. I was referred to Marc's company from another local plumber that said the location of the hose bib that needed repairing was in an awkward position.
I called Marc and he sent over Armando to get a quote. I wasn't expecting anything to be completed for at least a week or so.
Armando showed up within the hour and finished the job the same day. I was super surprise at how quick and efficient he was to complete the repair.
The lady at the main office called me to notify of the completion of the repair and the overall cost was $400 less than my initial quote for the former plumber. I am referring Master service plumbing to my inner circle of associates that may need repair work done in the near future.
Thank you so much for fixing this problem. I can not thank these folks enough for their assistance! We woke up to a leak around our water heater.
The problem was compounded by the fact that are house is being sold. We are in escrow and the Inspection was being done today.
I called Master Service and spoke to a very kind young woman (I apologize that I didn't get her name). She arranged for a plumber to come out today.
Clint arrived and immediately found the problem. He fixed it right away! The Inspector was here and could see the work and gave us a big "Thumbs up".
Thank you to each and every person we dealt with today. You are all truly special.
And your work was exceptional at a completely fair price. Thank you again!! They did a great job after the final visit but it required a couple of visits for things to be fixed.
Our shower valve was installed upside down but they do have experts that can fix it. Their customer service line is also helpful.
They came back out to make it right. Just note that they charge you the travel time from their last appointment to your house which is at the rate of $100/hr.
Worst customer service I have ever experienced! Recently, tenants in my rental property had an issue with the shower knob in the guest bathroom. They called Master Service Plumbing for an free estimate on what it would cost to fix.
The plumber arrived and quoted them a price of $213.00 for parts and labor. He assured my tenants that there was no charge for the estimate and to make a follow up appointment if they'd like to have the work performed.
My tenants contacted me for my approval and I told them I would arrange someone to come out and fix the issue, but we would pass on using Master Service Plumbing because the quote seemed a bit high. Fast forward one week and I receive a call from the office manager Gabrielle.
She explained that since we decided to not use their company, the free estimate was now being converted to a service call. When I tried reasoning with her she became upset and threatened to send the invoice to collections.
Mind you, this was over a $90.00 invoice. I politely told her that I would not budge on my stance that a free estimate is exactly what it states.
About five minutes after our call I received yet another call from the owner of Master Service Plumbing Mark. He decided to take a much more aggressive approach.
Mark told me that he was not going to send the bill to collections, but instead he would be placing a Mechanical Lien on my property to "lock it up," preventing it from a future sale. He continued to say, "you probably have know idea what that even is, so go ahead and do an Internet search to realize we don't $&@! around." Appalled at such language and his tone I quickly caught him off guard when I quoted him Nevada's statutes for placing such a lien on a person's property.
It actually requires a minimum of $500.00 worth of work performed in order to meet the basic requirements. Like a sore loser at a poker table, Mark threw his cards down when I called his bluff.
He began screaming obscenities at me not knowing that my speaker phone was on and everyone in the restaurant where I was dining heard all the terrible things he had to say. He then began to threaten me with physical violence.
He said, " You're a little punk and I dare you to come down here so I can kick your teeth in." Still in my cool, calm and collective voice I told him how immature he was acting and someone in his position shouldn't act so unprofessional. His response was again to challenge me to a fight while shouting more curse words.
If you're an MMA fighter looking to train for your next bout please call Mark, but if you're looking for a quality professional plumber I'd highly recommend a different company. Had a great experience with them.
I had three projects that needed to get done involving 2 sinks in my house. In one hour, all three were done.
Super nice people too. Helpful and willing to explain.
I will definitely use them again. I'm so glad I didn't do the project myself, and let them handle it.
So much less stress. Had a leak in my main water supply to irrigation system.
Plumber arrived same day I requested service. He was courteous and promptly repaired the problem.
I would recommend this company. As a property manager with over 500 properties, some of my biggest challenges are finding quality vendors.
We recently started working with Master Service Plumbing and they have been great! Awesome service!!! We used Master Service Plumbing for a repair job in our condo in Arlington Towers which is a 50+ year old building. Having done some repairs in our unit myself I personally know how due to the age of the building and its pipes repairing one thing can easily break three more things.
Master Service Plumbing came promptly, they were very efficient and professional, and made an exceptionally difficult and tricky job look easy. Master Service Plumbing finished the job quickly and for exactly what they quoted me it would cost.
I highly recommend Master Service Plumbing and I would not consider using anyone else for any future plumbing work. Absolutely the best in town! Hands down! Had problems with our water heater, on a Monday morning of all days.
Called and spoke with Josh (who is totally awesome) and he sent one of their service technicians (Robert) out within the hour. Robert was very professional, gave me all my options while prioritizing the total cost to remedy.
We chose to replace the water heater rather than repair it. Josh put us on the schedule immediately to have it replaced within the week.
He had a cancellation and got us on the schedule earlier than expected. We had also called around to compare price as well as how soon it could be replaced.
3 other competitors were at least $600-$1000 more than what Master Service Plumbing quoted and they were 2 weeks out. Even with being short technicians, they were still able to replace out water heater within 3 days! Master Service Plumbing is the best in town! Don't hesitate, just give them a call! This is the worst place ever! My apartment complex uses them to "fix" plumbing issues.
They are sexist and hate women! They play games and do a half-ass job and don't know what they are doing, then they mess with your water and leave the hot water off. It is constant drama and take forever to make an appointment to fix something if they ever call at all.
I wish the apartment building I live in would use a different vendor. I bid my custom home out to three separate plumbing contractors.
Master Service wasn't the cheapest. The owner started out of the gate awesome with great customer service and answered all of our questions.
Unfortunately once our home was under way we had nothing but issues. We had problems with everything from incorrect layout, not showing up when scheduled, installing the basic of plumbing items incorrectly, not tightening things properly which then caused leaks which damaged finished wood products to running hot and cold water lines to close together so that we don't get cold water because the radiant heat off the hot water line heats the cold one.
The list goes on and on....... We fought with them most of the way regarding the fixes.
My final straw was when they came back out to finally finish caulking around a tub and when trying to diagnose the hot/cold water issue they knocked the drain line out of the wall for our washing machine and didn't notice it........until the first time I ran the washing machine which then flooded the entire laundry room. If I had one bit of advice on these guys, move along to your next option and save yourself the headache, wish I had.
Quick and great service when I had a leak in my bathroom This company is outstanding! I had a broken water line flooding the crawl space under my house. I had the water shut off so the immediate problem was at bay.
I called them at 6:30 pm, got a real person on the phone, had a tech out first thing the next morning. Jason West went under the house in 8 inches of water and surveyed all the plumbing looking for the source of the leak.
Turned out to be the main line just outside under the lawn. He and his partner dug it up and repaired it with in just a few hours and we were back in service.
Great service, great positive attitudes, good people to know! I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy. They hooked up the water lines backwards to my new tankless hot water heater.
They piped hot water into the ice maker on my new refrigerator. They ripped pieces of boards out of my roof when they drilled holes to vent the hot water heater.
I had to call Savage and Son to fix the plumbing mess they made. I wish I had called Savage and Son to begin with.
When I called to complain about the shoddy work, the woman in the office said it was not their fault and hung up on me. The owner of Master Service Plumbing convinced me he would set up a very nice chrome drain to drain my washing machine into the shower.
Now I have a big ugly galvanized pipe fitting coming through the wall of my new $5000 shower. They have never offered to repair anything but they keep sending me the bill for their shoddy work.
Save yourself some real headaches and call Savage and Son. Unlike Master Service, they show up when they say they will and they know what they are doing.'''.
