Review and analyze now for company At Your Service Plumbing and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''Have worked with At Your Service for YEARS! It finally came time that we really needed to replace the galvanized pipes in our home that was built in the early 60s. Because of the size of the job we got some estimates from several plumbers in the local and Seattle area.
At Your Service wasn't the least expensive, but it was the most fair, thorough, and transparent estimate we received. Andy and Brett went through the entire house and crawl space to really understand the job to prepare an absolutely reasonable estimate.
We were so glad because we already really liked working with them. Once we agreed on the work and estimate, they took care of managing all of the permits and recommended a company they worked with and trusted to help us open up our sidewalk.
Made getting the project going real easy for us. I can't tell you how many times I called and talked to Elizabeth, but she was always patient and helpful every time.
Andy, Brett, Kyle, and Kash all primarily did the work. It was a week long project and they were laughing and having a great time through it all.
The quality and attention to detail was impeccable. I could even hear them get excited about how well the installation was going and how proud they were to have done such a great job.
I am fortunate enough to know what it's like to work with people you really enjoy collaborating with and what that can do to elevate not only your own performance, and quality of work, but also as a team; these folks have the right spirit and stellar skills! We only had one little bump and Dan came over to help out the team with patching up our sewer main when the flow was interrupted. The job was done exactly when they said it would be and we are SO HAPPY with the results.
Our water flow and drainage is phenomenal. We will always be At Your Service customers for life!! Thank you Andy, Brett, Kyle, Kash, Dan, and Elizabeth!! Here's the deal.
If you need a plumber, call these folks. We have used their services to identify leaks from pipes in our walls on two occasions and have purchased a water heater for our home from them.
They are highly competent, competitive in their pricing and a joy to deal with. There may well be less expensive plumbing contractors.
I'm not sure. But I would bet the farm that there are none better.
After receiving a spike in the water bill, I called "At Your Service Plumbing" for help. JR from the service desk kindly told me that they cannot locate where the water leak is but referred me to contact the "Simply Leak Detection" specialist for help.
When "Simply Leak Detection" found the leak, I called "At Your Service Plumbing" again for the repair. Matt came out to briefly inspect the house both inside and outside before engaging in the full diagnose/repair option conversation.
Matt was very professional and shared his knowledge for all my water/plumbing-related questions and communicated all my available options crystal clear. I loved how Matt brought his own mat to clean his shoes and wore the shoe sleeves before entering my house EVERY time to show respect for my house.
The pipe that caused the water leak is now repaired by Matt and his trainee Kash, and I called TPU for the water leak adjustment. I appreciate their entire professionalism starting from the service desk to the repair process.
I would definitely call this service again first for any plumbing jobs in the future. Update: I am updating my rating for At your service plumbing from my initial rating and here is the reason why.
The good thing about At your service plumbing is that they claim and provide customer satisfaction as best they can. Looking at my concerns around the cost and pricing, they have refunded me some amount back.
It is not the amount I expected (asked for a still high) to be refunded but it shows an effort from their side. Second good thing, I worked with Dan (the plumber).
Dan is very easy to talk to and is very friendly. He teaches you as he works and creates very calm environment while working.
The issues I still have is if they knew they are pricy, let the customer know beforehand and not waste, each others time. When the team reached out to me regarding my review, I clearly mentioned it to them that if the plumber had fixed prices for certain things (dishwasher installation), they should have let me know before scheduling anything so that I can choose whether I would like to spend that much money on it in future.
Because there can be different kind of requirements, for example plumbing needs in the place I live vs the plumbing needs in my tenants place. I would not be ok with spending same amount of money in both places.
Original Post: I am very disappointed with the At your service plumbing. I don't think they are worth the rating provided.
I completely felt honey trapped with them. I needed to get my dishwasher installed.
I purchased the dishwasher from Costco and I wanted to get it installed. Costco could not install as they found issues with two way valve.
Costco came three times and did not want to fix it. I started looking for plumbing service that could install the dishwasher.
My property manager recommended At your service plumbing. I called them to schedule the visit.
I asked them several times what would be the cost of installation. They didn't say anything stating that only plumber can tell me this.
This is where I should have known that they are going to rip me off. On the day of the visit, the plumber comes and tells me that just the installation of the dishwasher (uninstalling the existing one and installing the new one) would cost $1024.
That is very expensive. This did not include the replacement of the valve.
The replacement of the valve had the additional charge of $924 which makes it a total of $1024 + $924 +$59 (visiting charges). The plumber even mentioned that the price for installation (again just uninstalling and installing) is fixed.
Then my question is why didn't they tell me this earlier. This was a fixed price.
Everything else such as fixing any leaks you will only get to know at on sight. But I would have said "NO" and would not have wasted my time for this.
My property manager was also upset and said this is outrageous pricing. Neither me nor them will work with them in future.
Prompt service. I called the day I needed service and JR or RJ answered and was very helpful.
He called me back letting me know he has a crew coming out in 20min. I was very thankful.
They came and repaired my mainline pipe leak and was very professional. They have flat rate plus tax charges which I like way better because you know what you're paying for.
They're upfront with everything. It's appreciated.
I want to think at your service plumbing for the excellent service I received from Tyler. He was very pleasant.
He was very knowledgeable. He did a great job.
I would recommend this business to anyone looking to have a hot water heater installed. Andy and Kyle came out to address and issue with a leak in our hot water line.
They were courteous, friendly and honest. They did a fantastic job and left the area super clean.
Very happy with the outcome. Had a great experience! Matt and Kash were very helpful and did an awesome job.
Very professional. We just moved to the area and needed to find a reliable plumber and glad we did now! If you need any plumbing help this is the team to go with! Great service...fast and affordable.
Both experiences I've had with this company have gone smoothly. Nice to find a dependable plumbing service.
At Your Service Plumbing to the rescue again. I had my hot water heater fail on late Friday morning as I was preparing food for a party the next day.
Zach was at our house by early afternoon and provided me all my options. He was very detailed and thorough sticking around until almost 6pm to finish the job.
This morning (2 days later), my wife noticed an intermittent slight gas additive smell. I call the plumbing company again today and they sent Dan to do some double checking.
Dan was kind and checked everything carefully and said no leaks were discovered. We did have the gas line to our out of commission gas fire place disconnected so he covered the disconnected non active pipe just in case it was causing any intermittent smells.
He did explain the combustion for newer hot water tanks works differently, so occasionally you could get a slight smell when the system fires up to heat the tank especially in a very enclosed room. I am thankful to work with such a trustworthy company.
At your service is a first class company! My wife and I have used their service for many years. They have been in business for many years now.
Dan came out today to unplug a clogged bathroom sink drain. What could have been a very expensive service in our 1927 home turned out to be not so.
Rather than going through an existing wall Dan was able to use a plumbers snake going through the sink drain to solve the issue! Dan has the knowledge and skills to do quality work! I know this, because I was able to watch him tackle the job. In addition to his technical skills Dan customer friend skills leaving the customer having great confidence in his work.
We originally had an appointment scheduled for a Friday, but JR from the front office was able to have Dan do the job four days earlier! Thank you Dan and At Your Service Plumbing for doing quality service! Great work. Very professional.
I don't like their pricing. Very expensive.
But they do good work so it's hard to find fault with them. AYSP has been my plumber for years.
They are responsive and take a proactive approach yet never try and " up sell" the client. I trust my home's plumbing needs with AYSP.
This was our second interaction with At Your Service in the past three years. We are very happy with the work done by the company, including all of the staff we had contact with but most especially Tyler Copeland on the job yesterday.
He was very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and patient with all our questions. The work was done in a timely manner.
We would recommend Tyler and At Your Service for any plumbing work. Andy came out to do our yearly inspection.
I told him our issues with 2 bathroom sinks. Andy provided me with his bid to, 1.
Fix/Rebuild if possible and 2. Replace.
Also, he said we needed 3 carbon monoxide detectors and 5 water shutoff valves and provided me with his bid for that job. I am posting a pic of the bid so others can see a relative pricing for these services.
My issue isn't with the pricing, however I was a little shocked, but with what happened next. Andy went out to his truck, I thought, to get a faucet that he would use to replace the ones in the bathroom.
I watched him from my window stand at the back of his truck several minutes without moving. The back truck doors were open so all I could see were his shines and shoes.
He finally went into his truck and came out and back up to the house. When I opened the door I noticed that he reeked of smoke! My house is a non smoking house so we are sensitive to smoke.
We went into the kitchen to discuss the bid and the smell was so nauseating that I had to leave the room. Andy apologized and said he would make a note not to smoke while on a call for me.
Really? 1. I found it disrespectful and unprofessional to assume that is was ok in the first place.
2. When I was given the bid for the replacement of the bathroom faucets he did not provide options.
It was either that one he had, which was too expensive for my bathroom, or nothing. After telling my story to a group of friends one of them with plumbing experience offered to replace my faucets and shutoff valves with whatever I provided him with.
Mike just left our house after fixing an outside leaking faucet and two running toilets. He explained his findings in detail and gave us a few choices to fix the problems.
He was personable and easy to feel comfortable with; conversation during his work was enlightening and delightful! Would recommend the company to others because of Mike. Our problems seem to be fixed; like anything else, time will tell.
Thanks Mike! I called these guys when I thought my engagement ring went down the drain (it had not thank goodness)! Elizabeth was so kind, helpful and accommodating!! She even sent me a follow up Christmas card even though I didn't end up using any of their services to just welcome me to the area and express her relief that my ring had not gone down the drain! Goodness - do they know how to get a customer for life. What kind and wonderful treatment I got! Dan was awesome! Arrived on time, respected our home, and explained all our plumbing issues so we could make an informed decision.
He was quick to share his knowledge with my husband and went above and beyond. Would recommend! Thank you.
Great service and super quick response to my plumbing emergencies. Everyone there is very professional and they've been right on time for every appointment.
Highly recommended. Yesterday I was washing clothes and my washing machine started making noises in the sink and bathtub I realized I must have a septic overflow issue I called a plus they got somebody out the very next day Jake was the technician he was awesome very friendly Respected my yard and property explained the services and upkeep Of the septic I will definitely continue using the business We have had "At Your Service" to our house a few times during our kitchen renovation and bathroom tiling.
Andy has led all the projects and is knowledgeable, fast, efficient and as a bonus we saw his professionalism really shine as he mentored a new apprentice on the job. The prices were comparable to other services but to decided to go with them because they are part of "Responsible Contractors." So glad to have Andy and "At Your Service" on our team as we move forward to other projects and regular maintenance.
Had a power assisted toilet spring a leak Tuesday night wasn't able to be seen until Thursday. Individual who showed up was courteous and professional but didn't seem very knowledgeable in how to replace the part.
It was determined that they had the part in Lacy but could not install it until early to mid NEXT week. I have 3 teenagers and only 1 downstairs toilet.
I was quoted 284.00 for parts and labor. Seemed very steep for a gasket and bolts.
I told him I couldn't wait and would call someone else. I was charged 65$ for the visit.
I felt that should of been waived since they couldn't help me till next week! I called Beacon plumbing. They had someone out in 2 hours.
The job took 20 minutes. The plumber knew exactly what to do and had the part in his truck! I was charged only $199.
Next time Beacon! I've used AYS plumbing a couple of times and have gotten great service each time. I give them 4 stars only because I HATE paying the service fee, although it is a small fee in comparison to most plumbing service calls.
Maybe it's just a personal issue for me but again their service has always been above board!!!!! We just had At Your Service Plumbing come out on Wednesday (called them on Monday afternoon and Wednesday morning was their first availability, which was fine with us). They were awesome! I looked them up on BBB and read reviews online and decided on going with them after searching for recommendations in my neighborhood Facebook group.
We had water leaking from our second floor down through the ceiling of our first floor. We had opened up an insurance claim (with a $2,500 deductible!) thinking they'd have to put holes in our ceilings/walls/flooring and that it would be a big mess.
Mike was the guy who came out and he was awesome. He took his time, was honest, and found the problem within about 30 minutes.
Our bill was less than $200. And he fixed my leaky bathroom sink for free.
Way better than we had hoped. They were on time and gave a phone call prior to arriving as well as a text which included a photo of the technician so we knew who to expect at our front door.
Today we received a handwritten thank you card from Mike and he said he'll also follow up with us later this week. Great customer service.
Highly recommended. At Your Service Plumbing is an exceptional company.
I have been in their Diamond Club program for a little over a year, and I've been quite pleasantly surprised with their level of service. They called me last week for a complimentary plumbing checkup, which was promptly scheduled.
Two very professional technicians came to my house and conducted a thorough inspection. They gave me candid recommendations and quoted some things they thought we should consider.
Every time I've had them out to my house I've been impressed with the level of professionalism, honesty, and follow up. I've received thank you cards every time they did repairs, and they always go off of a pre-printed price list for bids so you know you're getting a competitive deal on the work they're completing.
They even give substantial discounts for Diamond Club members. Couldn't be more happy with their service all around, my plumber for life! One of those rare companies you can recommend to friends and family without any hesitation.
Good experience with Mike. My concern is about the air gap hole in my &4k Quartz counter top, which Mike insisted had to be.
There is a &99.00 disposal unit which the air gap plugs into---no holes and about a $120.00 savings for the homeowner. L Keep up to date! First, I want to clarify that as a once loyal customer and past Diamond Club member, At Your Service Plumbing Inc.
did all the right things to negate their name as well as guarantee NO recommendation or future business from me. Being fully aware that Kathy Thaut will write a snarky response, I am stating now that I am not interested in any discourse.
This is my opinion, that has been framed by the treatment of At Your Service Plumbing Inc.: 1. I do not object to paying for expert service and have respect for the work that the plumbing technicians provide.
After paying the Diamond Club annual fee ($106.00) each year, however, JR would call repeatedly to schedule the 'free' inspection at THEIR convenience, not mine. My family members had some serious medical issues that precluded scheduling the 'free' prepaid inspection by At Your Service Plumbing Inc.'s insistence and was treated with disdain by JR when he could not pressure me into scheduling according to their needs.
2. They've performed jobs totaling in excess of $12,000 which we paid promptly without external financing.
They did not, in violation of L&I LAW, provide a Notice of disclosure. ANY contractor who provides a bid of $1,000 or more is required by law to provide a notice of disclosure, regardless of whether the homeowner requests it.
3. I requested a bid for a new kitchen faucet to be included in a large job they performed and my request was brushed off.
Now I know why: By ignoring my request they could 'create' a new service and tack on more fees. 4.
As I had already paid my fee for the Diamond Club membership, I called to schedule my prepaid inspection and asked for a price bid for the new kitchen faucet as mine had finally failed and I was forced to shut off the hot water as it was shooting out of the spigots: They flatly refused to provide a cost breakdown. I was shocked as I have always been willing to pay for services without demanding any sort of discount, AND this was a dire situation .
They REFUSED to provide the cost of a new faucet + labor; instead they gave me an inflated bid. 5.
I was obliged to find another professional who had no problem providing a bid that was reasonable (Half the cost for the same faucet I had chosen), and warrantied. 6.
As the Diamond Club fee was paid but the free inspection was not scheduled in accordance with their rules, they made $106 for doing literally, nothing. 7.
Because we did not pay their Diamond Club fee this year by their deadline, I received a letter from Kathy informing me that my membership has been canceled: I say GOOD RIDDANCE. I have a great plumber now, whose work is warrantied without financially soaking his customers.
8. Word to the wise: a.
NEVER EVER hire a contractor who does not provide a Notice of Disclosure. b.
NEVER EVER hire a contractor who pressures you, the customer, to agree to anything you don't feel comfortable spending money on - get a second opinion. c.
NEVER EVER hire a contractor who conceals costs, resorts to coercing or colludes a customer into paying for a blind bid. SAVE YOUR MONEY: It IS YOUR Money - Choose a contractor carefully and contact L&I if you suspect consumer fraud.
Over priced and they seem proud of it. Why do that do people? Not the way to respect your customers and community.
Get quotes before paying them! Don't make my mistake! Andy the plumber who came was a nice guy, but t's a shame the "$50" fee was for just him driving out here, I thought it included the look around to see what was possibly the issue. WRONG, after looking around for about 30 min he said he wanted an additional $200 for the "investigation fee." We recently used these guys to replace all of the outdated galvanized plumbing in our 1906 Craftsman with copper.
The main reason we decided to go with these guys was because of how thorough they were on their initial visit. They looked at every aspect of our plumbing and were very upfront about what needed to be done.
The day the work began they were right on time and had everything they needed to get the job done and were very professional. The only drawback was that it was quite expensive but the service they provided was more than worth it.
If you want to save a little bit of money you can dig up the water main and cut open the walls to expose the piping yourself. I would definitely recommend these guys to anyone who needs some plumbing work done.
All of the staff at At Your Service are shining stars, and examples of what customer service should be everywhere. But Sherri stands out because of her down home friendliness and helpfulness--you get the feeling there is no problem you could come up with that she couldn't help you with.
I am so glad I discovered this company. I tell everyone about it--hopefully yelp will get the word out even further--if you need a plumber in the Tacoma metro area, this is the company you want.
I have been with them for over eight years now and am very satisfied. I have always had excellent customer service with At Your Service Plumbing.
They treat you like family. Dan and Matt were informative, friendly, and efficient in taking time to explain my options and the installation of quality guaranteed products.
I am a Diamond Club Member and love the preferential treatment and discounts received. I scheduled my yearly inspection to pro-actively plan for future plumbing ideas and needs.
Thanks guys! I have had nothing but good experiences!. Quick, professional, courteous.
Competitive prices and itemized quotes. Explanations and options.
They alway call ahead to let me know they're on their way. They are so careful and neat while they're here.
I am especially appreciative how they worked me in, for 2 different emergencies this Winter. I was so sick, and they just handled it.
Thank you! We recommend you, and will be using you again! Dan was friendly, efficient, and clean. I had a mighty back-up, and Dan gave it his all, and ended up saving me hundreds of dollars (I thought I was going to have to get a new toilet).
I've used At your Service twice now. Very impressed with the quality of materials, work, and service.
I would not hesitate in recommending them for any of your plumbing needs. After scheduling an appointment, I received a reminder phone call the day before the actual appointment.
I also received phone notification that the plumber was en route approximately 20 minutes before he arrived. Mike gave me estimates for shut-off valve replacements in all the sink faucets and toilets, moving the gas line for the range, and installing a main shut off valve for the entire house.
He did a very thorough job including checking the crawl space under the house, checking the size of the gas meter, and checking the instant hot water unit before writing up the estimate. No actual work was done at the time of this visit due to the size of the work involved.
Mike discussed options with me, made suggestions, and answered all my questions. Mike arrived right on time.
Did the plumbing jobs quickly and efficiently. Very professional and informational.
Helped us with information on the appliance repair co. we need work done from also.
Would use this company for any plumbing need in the future. They told me my septic line was not plugged, and that I needed a new toilet and a gizmo that reduces the water pressure to the house.
So then the next day, when the whole house is flooded with sewage, it turns out that the septic line is plugged after all, the toilet works fine, and the next plumber says we are fine without the gizmo. I don't think I would trust this company again.
The professionals from At Your Service Plumbing just left. They did an outstanding job as usual! (We have had them work on the plumbing in our home several times over the years we have lived here- ours is an older home and we have a large family).
They showed up on time, used booties and a mat to keep things clean (which I really appreciate as I have to keep the home spotless to show it), they reviewed the things that needed fixing, gave us all the options on how they could fix it and then completed the work quickly and with excellence. They were very polite and hardworking and gave great attention to detail.
We have used their services before and will definitely use them again. I even called a girlfriend who needs a plumber and told her to call this company.:) We have used At Your Service to replace all of our outlet plumbing and are planning to have them install a new water heater.
The service is always excellent, courteous, and the work is top-notch! This was an exceptional choice, and Dan was terrific. Our problem ended up being minor and he detailed several solutions for short-term and long-term problem solving with detailes explanation about the benefits of each.
His thorough knowledge of plumbing was very helpful, and I definitely learned a little more about the subject than I expected. It really helped to have an understanding of the issue, and some plumbing basics so I could make a good decision, and create a plan for our home.
I will definitely keep their number handy. I am a home remodeling contractor.
I frequently refer my clients to At Your Service Plumbing. My clients all speak very highly of them, and I am frequently thanked for the referral.
They are a great company. I wouldn't refer my clients to anyone but the best.
We bought a house built in '58 so the plumging is very old & knew the pipes needed repair sometime in future. Water leaked down Sun.
My hubby & neighbors repaired a hole in the kitchen pipe but the drain got clogged up Wed & spilled over. During the visit, my hubby found another hole which was leaking so we decided to replace the whole section.
After it's done, it shoul last for another 50 yrs! Andy was professional, nice, clean (wore booties) & upfront with the costs. ($49-vist during day, $79 after hrs).
We decided to join their Diamond Club about $8/mo & got 25% off on the costs of labor & parts so Wed. visit was $231.
Today's repair & replacement is pricey but think it's worth it. since Andy has to cut out walls & pipes.
We're figuring we may need their services in the future since the house is old & we can cancel DC anytime. We bought enzyme ($59 single) so it could eat the junk in the pipes for future prevention.
No more lyes! It doesn't work. AYS plumbing has 27 years of service & all their plumbers are certified.'''.
