My girlfriend asked for them to wear shoe coverings, which she had provided and they obliged. Their work was satisfactory.

Our slop sink in our basement was not draining. Michael came to our house and cleared up the issue in a matter of minutes.

We then told him we had low water pressure in our kitchen sink and bathroom shower. Within a few minutes, Michael fixed our problem.

Miguel called me the next morning and came over immediately to fix the leak. He was very professional.

I definitely recommend this business, and plan to use them again for future fixes. We've used Preferred Plumbing before and always have found them quick to respond with great service.

However, after today's encounter with them, I wanted to take time to leave a review. I failed to get the plumber's name, but initials on the invoice are MJ.

Late last night I was cleaning out cabinets and tossing various items into my garbage disposal. Without too much thought, I poured in a half bag of dry black beans.

After awhile, the sink stopped draining and I knew I'd made a huge error in judgement. I scooped out a lot of the now chopped black beans in hopes that would do the trick.

Also suctioned out all of the extra water in the sink, and tried a plunger ... all fails! Fessed up to my husband who called Preferred Plumbing.

I was NOT looking forward to facing the plumber with my confession. One other time, I'd stopped up the disposal with flower stems (thinking they were like vegetables) and had gotten a friendly lecture from the plumber (not from PP).

However M. J.

could not have been nicer or more professional. Never once did he reprimand my error in judgement.

He was pleasant while he took apart the drain (which was totally clogged with now hardened black bean pieces). When I apologized again he jokingly said that he'd heard that garbage disposals are a plumber's best friend and that I was not alone in all of this.

He was friendly, efficient, cleaned up everything and when I offered him a tip for his positive attitude, he tried to refuse it. It was truly a pleasure working with him.

He made a very positive impression on me (and I'll try not to dispose of other items just to see him in the future!). Have used Mike and crew (Brian, Miguel etc...) a number of times since we moved here.

They are professional, show up as stated and frequently come in a little under estimate. We are very happy with them and will continue to use in the future.

Over the years I've had a couple of other plumbing issues that required work. I have met Mike, Russ and today Miguel, who did an outstanding job.

ALL of these gentlemen repaired the plumbing issue(s) in my home quickly and proficiently; they are honest, professional and very polite; each time leaving the work area cleaned up and neat. I felt the cost for their work seemed fair, I never felt like I was being gouged or taken advantage of.

Mike and his team are great and honest ! They did a great job for me and drained my sew at a very fair price . If you have any pumbling problem , please don't hesitate to call these guys ! I had a few items that needed attention.

Calling a plumber is never something one wants to do, but if you call this service, you can rest easy. They do quality work and very reasonable rates.

He came on time, he did the work in a timely manner, and he was receptive to any questions. We even had an extra issue that needed attention, and he did that too and charged a discounted rate because he was already in the house.

Michael and his crew are the best. If you are having problems with your village in trying to get things up to code and pass inspections, call Preferred Plumbing.

They were the third plumbers we've used in trying to getting surprise violations fixed from an REO purchase (including an illegal bathroom in the basement) and they will be the last we will ever use. They came in at a lower price than we had initially anticipated, and more importantly, it is all done right, so that we are able to pass inspection the first time around.

To top things off, when he gave me our final invoice, he knocked off a couple of charges - doesn't get much better than that! Each day they were here they arrived when they said they would, they were professional and courteous and let us know what was going on (Miguel would let us know when the water was being shut off, for example) and they cleaned the job site at the end of the day. I found Michael to be a competitive business man with a pretty straight forward attitude - from the beginning he gave me the impression that he wanted to help us get our plumbing issues fixed, but he also wanted to give us a good deal - and build a relationship for the future.

You know how some people come in and do a job and you think 'oh, they obviously aren't banking on being a repeat customer business' - well, I would say the opposite is true here. That being said, now that I understand plumbing and licensing a bit more, I understand how much more qualified a guy like Michael is...the testing he had to go through for his license with the state sounds like it was more intense than the bar exam.

I only wish I had understood all of that when I began my search for a plumber. And I won't hesitate to call Michael and the guys at Preferred Plumbing for our next job and you shouldn't either! Update: We've since moved to Brookfield so now I'll have to call Michael when we get ready for plumbing changes in the new place, and I have no doubt we will be able to pass our inspections without issue once again.

Called Preferred plumbing on a Sunday, first thing Monday morning they returned my call. They arranged a time for later that day, arrived when they said they would.

Brian was courteous and knowledgeable, and was a very tidy worker. I will definitely be using them again and will recommend them to anyone who needs plumbing services.

They also have very fair prices, I was very happy with their service. This plumbing company is hands down the best in Westchester, IL.

Let me tell you why... We had our kitchen sink back up on Thanksgiving day.

Yeah it sucked....to have your kitchen sink not work on Thanksgiving. So I placed a call to Preferred Plumbing on the evening of Thanksgiving.

And the owner, Michael called me back within 30 minutes. He called me back on a holiday, after-hours, to confirm that they'd be at our house the next morning! How awesome is that!!! I didn't expect them to call me back on a holiday.

Plus we were leaving town the day after Thanksgiving, so we needed the repair to be done first thing in the morning, before we left town. Michael said we'd be their first job in the morning.

Not only did they show up exactly at the time they said they would the next day. The repair took about 30 minutes and my sink was functioning better than it did before.

Plus, the plumber was a nice dude, and he did the job very cleanly. Meaning, he took his shoes off, he took out everything under the sink, placed down a drop cloth, did the repair, and replaced the stuff back.

It was awesome. This is how a plumbing company does it!! They make life easy, the price was affordable, and the owner followed through.

We are 100% for sure using this company again! Michael and his Preferred Plumbing employees are super professional. It's nice to have a company deliver on their commitment.

We are definitely using this company again and I'm trying to get the word out that this company is awesome!! Be very careful using this company. The manager believes that it is your responsibility as a customer to ask about pricing up front, not theirs to tell you as a business.

If you decide to use them, ask any questions about things that could possibly cause the cost to go up first, such as- what is the anticipated price? Will I be charged overtime? and anything else you can think of. I called this company at 3:39 and asked Mike to send out someone to fix my backed up toilet and tub.

Although he told me that it was late and he'd sent his guys home early, he said he would see what he could do. He called back a bit later and said he was sending out two guys.

HE DID NOT AT ANY TIME DURING THAT CALL MENTION THAT THE COMPANY CLOSED AT FOUR AND I WOULD BE CHARGED OVERTIME. The plumbers arrived and were very professional.

They rodded out my line in about an hour. They then tried to get me to have them do a further service for an extra $100.

I asked how much we were at and was shocked that they were charging $415 dollars! I asked why and was told it was because I was being charged overtime. When I told them that Mike hadn't mentioned overtime, they indicated that I should call him.

I did call and expressed my dismay at being charged overtime without being informed of it up front. HE REPLIED THAT I DIDN'T ASK.

I expressed my belief that it was poor business to not tell customers and then blame their upset on them because they didn't ask. When I objected to this, the call cut off.

I assume that he hung up on me and was further upset. Mike did call back a bit later and claimed his phone had died and he'd just gotten it plugged in.

Thankfully, he had decided he did not want an upset customer and knocked off $100, ALTHOUGH THE PLUMBERS DID NOT FINISH RODDING OUT TO THE SEWER, WHICH THEY SAID THEY ALWAYS DO IN CASES LIKE MINE. I tried again to tell Mike that the company should always tell customers about charging overtime, especially if his business closes unexpectedly early.

Eventually he started insulting me stating that it was his mistake that he'd agreed to do business with me because "I was a great actress and the only one that got anything out of this," implying that I had tried to defraud HIM In some way. All I ever wanted was my plumbing fixed at an honest, up front price.

Beware, Lori Honest and old-fashioned professional! After the runaround from others, Mike took my call and couldn't have been more helpful and honest. He was able to explain why he didn't service my type of gas water heater (rather than coming out and trying to sell me a new one as another apparently pretty clueless fellow did).

He said he could put in a new one, but said I might be able to get mine fixed satisfactorily for a lot less. He asked several questions and then recommended a way to find someone to service my problem (he told me the company that had purchased the firm that made my water heater).

Preferred Plumbing is now my company of choice. I had a broken pipe that flooded my basement while I was away from home.

The water for the house had to be turned off to prevent continued flooding. Preferred Plumbing worked me into their schedule quickly the next morning.

The repair was not easy as there was a wall preventing full access to the pipe, which required cutting a hole in the wall. But, the repair was quick.

AWESOME. They completely cleaned up the mess.

Even though my work was clearly a rush job, the rate for everything was quite reasonable. I didn't give them 5 stars only because they don't take credit cards or electronic payment methods.

We found the source under the insulation and wet boards under some plumbing. We thought we had a slow leak somewhere.

We called on a Sunday and left a voicemail explaining our issue. We we called back on Sunday evening (not a usual thing since he has a route) and we were out on first thing Monday morning.

He came out and found it to be a roof leak instead. Very thorough and a nice guy all around.

We asked how much we owed him and he said not a thing since ehe didn't do anything. He just asked we call him if we need a plumber again.

Let me start off with the good. Terry does really great work.

His stuff is top notch. His prices are good, and if you have a problem with his work afterward, he does what he can to come and fix it.

So... good if you don't need a stop what you are doing emergency and can wait a day or two for your leak or quick fix to happen.

Then there's the bad. I've had what I would consider a large personal project.

I told him he could have it if he wanted it and there was no explicit expression that he didn't. I figured he was just busy.

He couldn't manage my expectations, Dianna P. (his wife and in charge of the office phone) just quit picking up all together, and unless I called Terry directly, I wouldn't get a whole lot more than I'm busy, or there is an emergency, and I will get back to you later today.

The last time he said that it was last week. My project is now behind and I'm forced to find a reliable person to rescue me.

Now that I look at it was possibly a passive aggressive way to say I don't want to do it, so I've got someone else. Also, don't ask him to give you a quote on stuff...

Parnell Plumbing were wonderful! I didn't know what to expect after our first busted pipe. They got to us as soon as they could and were affordable! Thank you so much!! Very polite and got things fixed right away.

I appreciate they were able to come within a few hours of calling. Had to call Parnell out again due to my hot water heater shutting down 6 months after he replaced a part--he didn't charge me and came as soon as he was able.

He was even apologetic for the delay. REALLY nice guy who knows his way around a hot water heater and was able to discern the problem in no time.
