Review and analyze now for company Rooterman Plumbing and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''I had a leak under my bathroom sink. Chris came and showed me why it was leaking.
He gave me options to fix it, and the repair was completed quickly. Chris was very professional and friendly.
I have been calling Rooterman whenever I have plumbing issues and I have always been satisfied with their service. Highly recommended.
Water heater replace was a quick success. Thank you.
Very responsive team. Collen explained it well and everything went smoothly.
The heater is operational again in 1 day. I would recommend this company.
Everything runs smoothly from start to finish. We have worked with Alan and Matthew several times.
They were both honesty, polite, and informative. Alan seems to really know his stuff.
Excellent customer service and great plumbing from Josh! I would use them again for anything else. Update June 2024: Rooterman Plumbing continues to be the go-to plumbing and gas company for me.
I had family visiting and needed plumbing repair and dishwasher installed in for their stay. Misti did a fantastic job with scheduling asap.
My repairman, Chris, was absolutely fantastic. He embodied the trust and quality work that Rooterman repair people had established over the years.
Chris repaired my plumbing and stayed through the entire cycle of the dishwasher to ensure everything was perfect. I will continue to call on Rooterman! Collen was excellent, knowledgable, respectful, and honest.
He came in to fix a shower leak the day I called. He also took a look at my water supply valve outside and my water heater, and gave suggestions.
I will certainly work with Rooterman Plumbing again in the future if needed. Collen and Jack came out this week in the blistering heat to replace my 25 year old Kenmore hot water heater with a tankless one (Navien NPE-180S2) in my garage.
They also put in a utility sink and cleaned up all the water and gas lines as the tankless went on an adjacent wall and we didn't have a utility sink prior. Guys were professional, knowledgeable, and did a great job.
Plus, the price came in under the estimate and everything was cleaned up after they were done. Great job and crew.
I had an issue in one of the bathrooms in my home and left a voicemail on a Saturday morning. To my surprise, Josh replied quickly and listened attentively to my problem and he seemed to have a good idea about the root cause.
He stated that he had other clients, but that someone else would check in with me. Later that morning, Chris contacted me and scheduled a repair quickly.
He came over and assessed the situation and addressed everything in a friendly, professional manner explaining exactly what he was doing. Overall, a great service I was not expecting on the weekend.
I would definitely recommend their business based on this experience. I had a gas leak of mysterious origin.
Atmos turned off main gas line so we wouldn't blow up. Rooterman made everything easy from booking to getting permits.
(Thank you, Misti) I really appreciated the process as I was already on edge from my house filling with gas. Collen , our technician, was on time, professional, and efficient.
I felt my family was in good hands. He found the leak quickly and explained what he was doing.
Even my nervous dog adored him. I highly recommend both Collen and Rooterman.
I've had Collen from Rooter-Man coming out to my house several times in the past few weeks, to address some leaking vent pipes in our old houses walls. He has been great at communicating exactly how they are diagnosing the issues, what the remedy is, and how much it will cost.
He was professional and courteous throughout. I'm happy with our experience overall, will definitely call again if we need any more plumbing work done.
My tankless water heat was broken. When I reached out, it responses very quickly.
Their technician comes to my house at the second day. I didn't use its installation service because their quote is too high.
$9000 for a small tankless water heater for a small house is just too expensive to me. But service is very professional.
They are on the expensive end but great service, worked through multiple items quickly and are trustworthy to do a good job. Water heater went out on Saturday, called them and they had Josh come out Monday morning.
He was awesome! Easy going, explained everything clearly, and gave us a great price to fix our tankless heater. It was also under warranty, so that was nice as well! Highly recommend this company and Josh.
Hot showers again!! I had a couple months of high water bills and couldn't isolate the leak. Called Rooterman to take care of the issue largely based on their website.
I definitely made the right decision! Misty (the sweetest person ever) answered and took care of the scheduling and had the guys out to see me quickly and efficiently handled the billing. Curtis Kurka was the tech who showed up and his years of experience made obvious the he was the right man for the job.
He took his time diagnosing my issues and went through every potential culprit prior to telling me that I needed a new main line to the house. I knew what I was in for, so I called Misty back and requested Curtis to do the work.
Curtis and his apprentice Shane Walters showed up the next business day to do the work. They use this cool text system notifying you the guys are enroute, shows a photo of the tech, a bit about themselves, and even tracking.
Curtis and Shane got to work straight away and didn't waste any time. They made sure to manage expectations and kept a very clean work area.
I had the chance to talk with Curtis and Shane a bit while they were on the job and I can tell you that not only are they great guys, but these are the pros you want working on your property. I was very impressed with Shane's knowledge, work ethic, and his desire to progress in the field.
Curtis knowledge is just awesome and feels like a buddy from minute one. As I know a bit about plumbing and construction, I can tell you the work was done very well and at or above code.
I wouldn't hesitate to call Rooterman again, but certainly would be asking for Curtis and Shane. They were quick and responsive.
The technician, Luke was very professional and did the job quickly. He went above and beyond in explaining what happened.
I would definitely use them again. Curtis Kurka from Rooter-Man has always taking great care of us.
We've been using Rooter-Man for over five years, and have always had great service. Just recently we had a pipe burst in the ceiling on a Sunday and Curtis was able to come over to assess the situation, fix the problem, and even clean up this mess on his way out.
I highly recommend Rooter-Man for your plumbing needs They installed a water heater for us. Without asking, they added a large safety shutoff device on the heater - for an additional few hundred dollars - that doesn't operate without power.
They left our house powering the device by running a twenty foot extension cord out of the water heater closet into the nearest outlet. I asked, "Is this thing really necessary? I used to have a simple leak detector unit that didn't need to be plugged in." "Yes," they said.
"This is what the current code requires." "So my hot water will shut off from now on whenever the power ever goes out? I used to still have hot water during an outage." They shrugged. I then paid several hundred dollars more to install an outlet inside of the water heater closet to power this stupid device.
I tried to learn more about this device. Maybe there was a battery backup option.
I couldn't learn anything. Turns out Rooterman installed a discontinued device that was no longer under warranty or customer support by the company that made the device.
David at Rooterman also didn't know anything about it. More shrugs.
Our hot water kept turning off. The device was triggering for unknown reasons and shutting off the water heater.
David came out to look at it. $75 trip charge.
In the next year, the water heater turned itself off at least once a month. We are constantly relighting the pilot light.
Yet Rooterman insisted this stupid thing was necessary. Guess what? It's not necessary at all.
I've had multiple plumbers over to finally resolve the water heater issues. They took one look at the safety box over the water heater and say, what even is that thing? It's not necessary.
It's not required. They've never seen this device before.
Rooterman charged me to install something completely unnecessary and defective, put me in a position where I had to pay more to install an outlet to accomodate it, then *lied to me about it* and now I'm paying even more just to get rid of it. Collen was excellent at diagnosing an issue with our septic tank and making a fix the same day.
We'll be using Rooter-Man Plumbing for future septic/plumbing issues. Andrew Simons came to my house on the same day of my call and was extremely knowledgeable about the service I requested.
We had brown water coming out of our toilet and faucets and he was quick to diagnose a potential problem and propose solutions. Ultimately he fixed the problem while on site but gave me advice on future issues that may occur and how to solve them.
He was professional and overall a huge help. Would recommend.
Curtis K. is THE BEST! Curtis goes ABOVE AAND BEYOND!!! Our family is so thankful for him!!! He has helped us in our previous home and now our new home!! He always gives us the estimate of the expected cost BEFORE beginning--most servicemen+servicewomen just start on the problem, THEN the client is shocked by the price afterwards.
Our family is very grateful for Curtis-- we are able to budget for repairs that will be needed in the near future! We are always so very thankful for Curtis K. and we continue to refer him to our friends and family.
Thank you Curtis! Cannot say enough positive things about this company. I worked with Misti and Joshua and they went above and beyond to insure I was happy.
Misty was able to provide me proof that the job had passed inspection when the City of Austin was unable to do so, so I could get my gas turned back on. Joshua came back, after the fact to help me get my gas lanterns turned back on, after the City of Austin couldn't find the turn on valve.
I will only use them for all my plumbing needs goi g forward. Had a pretty stout clogged pipe way back in the pipes of the house.
Luke showed up quick, worked expeditiously, and resolved the issue. Was super friendly, too.
Thx! I've had a pretty great experience with the team. We had an issue with our water heater and I definitely needed some help.
They came quickly, they're knowledgable, and courteous. Thanks for coming by and helping us out! Thank you Jack and Collin.
As a property manager I appreciate how knowledgeable the team was and willing to find solutions for what was a terrible situation for our guests. They really came through for us.
Our long-time plumbing company that we loved changed hands and it was time to find a new one. We've used Rooter-Man a couple of times now, for a toilet issue and re-seat and to reinstall our kitchen sink, insinkerator, new sensor faucet and dishwasher after a remodel.
We've had Colin as our plumber both times. He's great.
Helpful, listens, friendly, offers good advice without upselling. They aren't necessarily the cheapest plumbing company, but we've gone low cost in the past and regretted it and we're satisfied with the value.
I originally asked for a quote for tankless water heaters. rooterman instead talked me into tanked water heaters "because they have less maintenance issues".
1 year in the control valve failed. I had to pay rooterman almost $300 to install a warranty covered part.
A year later the same part failed, and I was informed by another plumber that these were known defective parts. Rooterman wants another $300 to install this part.
This part btw is an easy install, 30 minutes of labor tops. This isn't the only scam rooterman runs- they wanted $500 for a shower cartridge install.
this takes all of 10 minutes of labor and a $60 part. Rooterman love To upcharge, scam, and install defective equipment that will require regular warranty labor expenses.
Find someone else! Collen did A+ work for me a few months ago and I called Rooter-Man Austin again and was delighted that Collen was available! He was right on time, communicated with me clearly, gave me 2 options and explained the brand's warranty for the product I chose. I trust his recommendations and that means a lot! Having a super reliable plumbing company is essential to any homeowner and I feel fortunate to have discovered Rooter-Man Austin.
NO more worries about finding a plumber! We've turned to Rooter-Man several times since first requesting help in 2019. They have been amazing in terms of response time, frequently helping us within a day or two of a request.
I like that I can text them for help, and they always get back pretty quickly. Not long ago, we had a flood in our home, and it was difficult for Luke to identify why.
He advised sending their plumbing guru to assess, and he brought in a variety of tools, cameras, etc., and pointed out exactly where we were having trouble. He was awesome! We also really appreciate Eddie, who was helping us with a hot water heater that apparently has a history of technical issues.
He gave a quick diagnosis and helped us fix how the pipes for the water should go outside of the building. He was very careful and did a lot of work to make sure it looked nice.
We are so grateful to this team for the assistance they have provided. Our entire guest bathroom was clogged and not functioning - after conveniently making an appointment online, I had a plumber at my door the next day.
He was very professional, knowledgeable, and kind. The staff who called to confirm was also very friendly.
They got the job done all at a reasonable price and saved our bathroom! Nothing but good things to say. SERVICE STAR HERO DAY Here is a review for my #servicestarhero! I found myself in a quandary recently.
Our water pressure had been fluctuating for a few days and we thought maybe our water was being rationed during prime use hours. (Well every other weird thing has happened over the past year so why not?) Anyhoo -Saturday it went from a slow stream to a trickle to no water at all -and it was affecting all sinks, commodes and bathing facilities in our home.
We are so clueless we still thought it must be a worldwide event! (Ok-maybe a neighborhood event...) so we polled our neighbors only to find they all had water!! What to do? Decided a plumber was in order. I began my research on Yelp of course and there were many agencies that had great reviews.
I was drawn to Rooter Man as it had an abundance of 4&5 Star Reviews. Was family and veteran owned and operated.
Being the "frugals" we waited until Monday to call. The call was picked up by the 4 th ring and Catherine had me describe our plumbing problem.
She reviewed their schedule and offered an appointment Tuesday afternoon between 2-4pm. She advised that whomever was assigned would text me when they headed our way.
She then advised the fee for the service call was $79, but said if we opted to have them repair the problem tomorrow that fee would be waived. I appreciated her being forthright with their processes.
She was very professional and had a smile in her voice. The next day I missed a call from Catherine and when I called her back she advised they had a cancellation and could arrive between 12-2p if we wanted to take the earlier appointment.
That was fine with us. She reviewed their process of having the plumber text us when on their way.
Before too long I received a text from Byron with his picture- a great way of identifying who would be coming. There was also a phone number given should we have any questions.
A text also came when he arrived at our home. Byron introduced himself.
We described our issues with the lack of water. After listening he began removing the kitchen sink faucet head.
I was telling him that in my restroom something resembling sand was coming out of one of the sink faucets. He asked us about our water heater and if we had a traditional style water softener.
When we said we did he diagnosed the problem immediately. Evidently the softener had broken and was spilling tiny silicone grains out into our water pipes.
He then began to run the water and sure enough out they came. He explained it was best to use the larger faucets to discharge the contaminated water.
He opened the faucets in both tubs... wooo -E there was a lot of that stuff from inside the water softener.
He told us that since we had a Moen Faucet at the kitchen sink - they had such faith in their product they would likely send us a new head free-no shipping-no nothing...what a great tip!! He said to simply email them. I told him I was concerned about the fridge too so he told us what to do about that to avoid using any tainted ice or water.
He offered to replace the toilet tank innards or saud that we could do it as well to make sure they continued to function. He then tidied up the areas he had made repairs to.
He was able to give us the invoice- we paid the amount due. After thanking us for choosing Rooter Man he said goodbye- and to call if any further problems developed.
Byron was professional, and offered us some great tips. He was neat and clean.
He was respectful of us as his customers. Should you need help with your plumbing we highly recommend Rooter Man Plumbing.
April 2022 Second call placed for other drains. This is a brand new service.
Same amazing service. We had Allen out again, he worked diligently to clean my wife's shower pipe and sink pipe, fixed the detached stopper, and cleaned our kitchen sink pipe in the add-on building.
Obviously it was more expensive, but like the last service, this was well worth it on pipes that probably haven't been serviced since they were installed decades ago. There is a reason why Rooter-Man is highly rated, they DO THE JOB RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.
Highly recommend, still 5 stars. July 2021 Allen came out exactly on time.
We have a 54-year-old house that has the original cast iron drain and the washroom. For years we've been unable to use the washroom due to the pipe not draining.
Also our kitchen sink drained poorly because there was a vacuum created by the clogged pipe in the washroom. Allen used the camera and a snake and determined that there were two large clogs he got rid of those in about 45 minutes and also fixed an exterior faucet.
Everything seems to work great now and we are extremely pleased with this company. The best part is it was only $147 to fix everything.
We highly recommend using this company. I had been told by another company with a similar name that I needed thousands of dollars of additions to my tankless water heater in order to get hot water to my shower.
The first thing David did was unscrew the sprayer head and remove pipe debris that was clogging the outlet. and I immediately had hot water to the shower.
Then he thoroughly checked out the cause of other plumbing issues, crawling under my house, then coming to another simple solution. My bill was a fraction of the cost of any other plumbers visit I have had.
I will always call Rooter-Man and ask for David if time allows a choice of plumbers! We've used Rooterman for a while now and everyone has been fantastic, but wanted to give a review specifically for Eddie. He came down to do a leak inspection and was really thorough about it, but what stood out was how carefully he cut out the sheetrock so we could replace it afterward.
Checked in with me constantly and got permission before doing anything and made sure all costs were upfront. Had some trouble getting out of our driveway (because of how our driveway was sloped, which I should've warned him about) but didn't get frustrated or angry about it as I might've been if I were stuck at a job! Thanks Eddie! The areas that they serve are inaccurately represented on their website.
I wonder if that is all, that is inaccurately represented. They do not serve the Liberty Hill area.
Update: Mr. David called me personally to explain the situation as they (potentially) expand into the 78642 area code.
They attended to my plumbing issue, and I thank the Roto-Man team for the attentive, professional, and adept service. Mr.
Karl was wonderful while taking care of the issue. A job well done.
Thank you, V. I noticed our water bills had been steadily creeping up over the last few months.
I chalked it up to COVID keeping us home and using more water, but when two bills were almost double what we normally use in the winter (which goes into Austin's wastewater averaging), I knew I had to investigate more. This is the kind of thing that drives me crazy (and my poor spouse who has to listen to me ranting about a leak SOMEWHERE).
Looking at the water meter, I noticed the leak detector spinning slowly. Took readings over 24 hours, over the course of a few weeks, and noticed about 6-7 gallons an hour going out even when no water was used inside (all valves off).
City confirmed and I knew I'd have to call a leak detection specialist. I called Rooter-Man based on these Yelp reviews and I'm glad I did.
Unlike a leak detection-only business, Rooter-Man diagnoses and fixes in one go. After examining the fittings in the house, and determingin no leak there, Eddie began investigating places outside where a leak might exist.
He suspected it was a cracked fitting where the main line connects to the house line, and he was right. But he had to work for it! The leak was small, and the pipe was buried 2 feet down, not the normal 12 to 18 inches.
Without the sonar equipment Eddie used, it would have been impossible to spot the leak since it was so deep there was no wet spot in the yard. Turns out tree roots had cracked the fitting - guess my landscaper is getting the next call to get rid of that tree! Once discovered, Eddie got to work fixing the leak, which took a while because he had to be extra careful of the gas line buried in the same trench as the water line.
Then the fitting was almost impossible to get off, requiring some clever use of a propane blowtorch. Finally it was fixed with a "Chicago loop" style fitting to allow for some flex.
He tested everything before filling the hole and we flushed the lines. After turning off the water valves, we checked again - no leaks.
The leak indicator is not spinning at all. Leak detection is not inexpensive, especially when specialized equipment is needed to discern and diagnose the leak location.
It might seem a big outlay of cash to fix this small leak, but the thing about leaks is that they never go away, they only get worse. I'd rather have this fixed now when it was only leaking 6 gallons an hour than to have it fixed in the summer when it might be leaking 6 gallons a minute! Eddie was a consummate professional and really a pleasure to have working on this.
He has an irrepressible attitude and is a real character. I enjoyed listening to him as he gave me the blow-by-blow of what he was doing and why he was doing it, and I appreciated his professionalism.
Well done Eddie, and thanks to Rooter-Man for helping me sleep at night. Three great experiences with Rooterman of Austin.
Most recently, Collen was extremely professional, super quick to find our leak, took care of it with minimal damage to our wall and gave us great advice along the process. All the while being friendly and understanding.
We would highly recommend him and hope we can use his services anytime we need help with plumbing. Review update- After seeing my review the owner of the company addressed my concerns, came out to address what the problems were, and reduced the charges to a reasonable amount.
Although my initial review was poor, I would give them 4 stars after they came to an equitable resolution with me. I have used this company many times over the last 5 years at my home and business.
This will be the last time. The tech that came to diagnose a plugged sewer line wasted a bunch of time walking around and then billed me for 3 hours when he actually only spent about an hour working.
They basically charged me $900 to snake a drain. If you want an honest company that will do a good job for a reasonable price you should look elsewhere.
I'll be a returning customer! Curtis came out just after a Christmas freeze (when everyone else couldn't fit us in) for a number of plumbing issues - clogged line, leak under the sink, low water pressure. He fixed them all -efficiently and professionally.
Great experience. Best plumber we've had.
Curtis Kurka is just one of the best plumbers. He installed a water heater when the old one started leaking and since the house water pressure was too high, he also came back and installed a new water pressure valve on the house line.
And a new turn-off handle. The old one required a special tool but the new one doesn't and is much easier.
He's a great plumber! Also, if you need septic service, get Byron! He is the absolute best in town! I had another outstanding experience with Rooterman again today. I called this morning and by 2pm they had a technician out to fix my broken toilet.
As usual David was extremely professional, proficient, and courteous. He was in and out within an hour and completely fixed the issue.
Their level of integrity and competence is stellar, I could not be happier with my experience. I would recommend them every day of the week and twice on Sunday...
Many thanks to the entire staff of Rooterman Austin! Every single person there is caring and helpful and I have only one entry in my rolodex for plumbers... These guys are great! Collen and Jack were very knowledgeable, thorough, and incredibly helpful.
Their thoughtful service was very much appreciated. Over the phone I was given a rough estimate of a couple hundred dollars so I agreed to have a technician arrive between 2-4pm.
The technician arrived close to 5pm and let me know the quote was going to be for over $600 for a basic sewage line clear with camera (which was necessary). My house was new construction so I decided to just try calling the builder plumber but they close at 5 so I'm hoping their after hours emergency line will get back to me The technician was really nice and didn't charge me for the visit.
But the company's failure to provide an estimate even close to the final quote and the technician arriving 1 hour after the time window made today a difficult day as a customer. WOW...I had a HORRIBLE experience trying to get a competitor company with a similar name come out to look at our hot water heaters.
Reluctantly I wrote a bad review so people would avoid my experience. Problem is, I wrote the review on the WRONG business page (this one).
The owner reached out to inform me about my mistake and offered to send someone out SAME DAY to address our problem. Within 2 hours the problem was fixed! Props to Rooter Man for taking notice of a bad situation and capitalizing on the poor performance of a competitor to earn our business moving forward! - technician wasnt able to find the source to the problem and did a wrong diagnosis when called in to detect a water leak from the bathroom shower.
- the technician wasnt able to detect the leak ,but instead said the leak is due to the missing gasket to the shower door. - charged over 130$ to come out and to do an ignorant trouble shooting.
- the wrong troubleshooting pointed us in the wrong direction leading to severe delay in finding the actual issue, all along while the leak was active. - The actual issue was due to the broken shower drain beneath the shower stall, which was found out by a different plumber.
- waste of time and money going with rooterman plumbing despite the high 5 start reviews. Curtis is awesome!!! I thought that he needed to fix a check valve that one of his co-workers did but it ended up being something that would be covered with my waterline insurance.
He went above & beyond to help me understand what the insurance company will need to do. Very helpful! Thank you Curtis & Rooter Man! I'm glad that I'm a member because I wasn't charged for the service fee! Our usual plumber couldn't get to us for several days so I yelped and found Rooter-Man.
The good reviews were reflected in an A+ experience. Got an appointment within hours rather than days, and our plumber Landen was fast and friendly.
Plus, I paid a bit less than the regular plumber was going to charge. What's not to like about that? Shout out to Curtis for coming out and fixing a clogged sink drain.
Very knowledgeable and friendly guy. I learned a lot of stuff I probably should have already known about my house.
Pricing is straight forward and he lets you know up front. They document everything very well.
Seems like a very well run business. We had one question about our toilet that ended up becoming two or three other questions, and the more we thought to talk through things, the more seemed to come up...
so we called for help, and Collen at Rooter Maan was awesome at answering all of our questions and wrapping them all up with a terrific job at getting our bathroom up and running again. I totally recommend him to anyone in need of good plumbing! Second time using Rooter-Man and once again we are completely satisfied and very impressed with their responsiveness and ability to troubleshoot and remedy issues.
As a veteran, I always consider veteran-owned businesses first when vetting for any service. Rooter-Man was competitively priced but offered far better service response times.
Quick shout-out to Byron who was here both times and exceeded expectations while being remarkably attentive and respectful. Well done! DCKemper Leander Eddie with Rooter man was great, he added a outdoor hose bib for us within a hour and insulated it for us, would definitely recommend! Rooter-Man has serviced multiple clogged drains for me and they are always fast and fairly priced.
Nick was just here today and was professional and super fast. Don't waste your time calling anyone else.
These guys are the best. I'm torn.
As a new homeowner, I want to turn to experts and have them teach me new info. However, I often don't know where to begin explaining the problem and have a lot of appreciation for companies that try to meet me halfway.
I noticed a leak on the outside foundation of my home each time I ran the dishwasher. Naturally, anything involving leaks or water freaks me out and a general consensus led me to think perhaps the drain pipe leaked.
I called Rooter-Man to come out and take a look. The tech stayed for about 7 minutes, and said the dishwasher had a crack in a valve, and left.
$79 just for that. I hire someone else to come haul away the dishwasher, expecting mountains of mold and puddles that Rooter-Man tech predicted would be waiting behind the faulty machine.
There was nothing. The dishwasher hual-away guy (who is a dishwasher professional; not a junk-removal service) told me it had no leak in it! So now here I am.
No dishwasher. No mold.
No leak. No backed up pipes.
No one to help advise. I called Rooter-Man and asked if they could come back out and diagnose if there was a pipe problem now that the dishwasher was gone.
After consulting with management, they said they would not come out for free unless I found more water. Well...kind of hard to find more water if the plumbing attached to a dishwasher is the plumbing with a leak and I have no dishwasher to run to test it again.
What a mess. Anyway, I write this whole long thing to illustrate that I don't think it's entirely Rooter-Man's fault, however I rely on them for professional and accurate diagnostics.
And it seems the fact of the matter is that their diagnosis was wrong. It still may be something that they're unable to fix; but it definitely wasn't the cracked dishwasher part.
This review is about a very specific thing. Getting an estimate for the installation of an hybrid heat-pump hot water heater.
I called Rooter-man and made the appointment for an estimate on installing a hybrid heat-pump hot water heater. Making it clear what I wanted.
First let me say that the gentleman who came out was very earnest and polite. He was also very timely.
Kudos on those points. It was clear that he had no experience with hybrid heat-pump hot water heaters.
He didn't ask about or check the two most important installation issues. Power supply and ventilation.
Then they gave me an estimate $2,000 higher that my other estimate and $3000 higher than what on-line advice says. The problem is that they wasted both my time and theirs.
They should have declined to do an estimate in the first place. Once again Curtis bailed us out! (haha, see what I did there?) Fast, friendly, fair priced plumber.
Respectful of our property. Checked the prv and cleared out a clogged drain.
Happy customer! Curtis was awesome! Called Rooter-Man on a Saturday to come out and fix 2 leaking sinks and stabilize a toilet -it wasn't an emergency but I was happy that David picked up the phone on the weekend. Curtis communicated to me what was wrong with the sinks, and let me know how he would stabilize the toilet before doing the work.
He worked quickly and was reasonable with final price. When he sent the invoice, he included pictures of the repairs which was great to have for records.
He also helped me figure out what to do for a leak causing high water bill, checking the meter to see what might be the cause which he said was from the sprinkler system and not in the house, and since he does not repair sprinkler systems, he advised me to call a leak detection service. I like that he knew his limits and he did a great job doing what he did.
Highly recommend! I made a next day appointment with Rooter-Man Austin and am satisfied with my service. Eddie came out and did a great job.
He was on time and texted when he was on his way. I had a broken water heater in the house and he explained to me what was going on.
He broke down the cost for two options and let me decide. He wasn't pressuring.
He went back to the office to pick up a water heater and installed it for me. He cleaned up and explained to me how to use the heater if need be.
He also gave me a sweet discount on the water heater. I highly recommend Eddie and Rooter-Man Austin for any plumbing needs.
Our sink in the kitchen was clogged. Water backed up.
Curtis came on time and did a great job. We liked him and asked him to investigate a potential water leak.
He was very professional. Ask for Curtis! From the moment I made the phone call to Rooter-Man Austin, to Curtis calling me back, to picking up and replacing my water heater (everything done in less than 4 hours) the service was top notch...
I would literally give them 10 (like I mention previously)... this is the second time I called them and they save my life twice! Im so impressed by the staff and quality...
Thank you Curtis for your expertise, knowledge, honesty but mostly for your awesomeness!!! Simply excellence! Mr. Kurka did a wonderful job installing a gas line for my new stove to be installed.
The stove is from Best Buy, but the installers refused to install it because they said there was no room to get behind the (22 year old) stove to install the gas line. Mr.
Kurka looked at it and saw that the shut off was beside the gas stove under a cabinet and was already turned off. He said BB should've been able to find it and install the line.
It was a pleasure working with Mr. Kurka and I will definitely call and ask for him for future plumbing needs.
Collen came by in a timely fashion and fixed my bathroom leak. He was very professional and courteous.
I would definitely call him again if I had another plumbing issue. We had a clogged kitchen sink.
Curtis Kurka was the tech that was sent after hours. He was responsive, clean, and knowledgeable.
He quickly resolved the issue and was a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Rooter-Man.
Plumbing had backed up on one side of our house and were told by a plumber that we had a sewage line break under our house. We contacted multiple companies for estimates and Rooter-Man came out the next morning (an hour earlier than scheduled!).
Luke & Collin located a blockage and checked/cleared from multiple trap entrances. Once they cleared the blockage they confirmed it there was NO break! They saved us $15-$20k in unnecessary repairs! Fast and efficient.
Thanks Luke & Collin! I hired Rooter-Man to replace a broken drainage line from my home to the city sewer. It seemed to me to be a major repair, but everyone at Rooter-Man put my mind at ease that this was- for them- a routine job.
Their calm demeanor and professionalism made me comfortable from the start that I had made a good decision to utilize their services. Upfront, I was appraised by Drain Specialist DavidJ as to the specific issue, what exactly needed to be done- and the cost/timeline to do so.
David very patiently answered all of my questions and used language that I (as a non-professional plumber) could understand. Customer Service Representative/Dispatcher Misti then kept in touch via text and phone throughout the process- and was always available to provide kind and useful updates.
Finally, Manager Cody helped me understand the city's inspection process and made sure that all required documentation from the both Inspector and Engineer was obtained. Best of all, this job was done right on budget and 5 days BEFORE it was promised.
It's hard to do better than that! I highly recommend the team at Rooter-Man. David and his team are top notch.
Trying to deal with American Home Shield was a hot mess. So, I decided to just bypass AHS and go straight to the best.
I'd used Rooter-Man in the past and was very pleased. They did NOT disappoint.
The grinder pump issue is now on its way to being back to where it needs to be. You can only imagine how much anxiety a family can have when it comes to a grinder pump.
David and his team put our minds at ease, and things are up and running thanks to their diligence and skill. Thank y'all so much.
We have an ongoing leak on our property. I asked for 2 service people, because that's the only way to find leaks.
They sent one and all he could "find" was a faulty pressure valve. He changed that.
Importantly, it doesn't work; it didn't change anything. On his invoice he said he needed to come back with TWO people....what I asked for in the beginning.
Bottom line, I paid $897.00 for a pressure valve that doesn't work! I'm still looking for a solution to my leak! Great job and very Thorough.. I will use them in the future for any plumbing issues..
Thanks Bryan Several projects successfully completed by Router-Man Austin. Jobs included external freeze-proof faucets, addition of outside faucet, interior drain vent, installation of tankless water heater, replacement of toilets, drain cleaning, and other plumbing work.
Product and service recommendations have always been spot-on! Router-Man's Dustin has been efficient and friendly on my projects. I will not use another plumber in Austin! My water heater went out the day after Thanksgiving and I wasn't expecting to find an available plumber let alone one offering good service.
Thankfully Rooter-Man was a able to come out the same day. Curtis was great.
He was friendly, professional and was able to identify and fix my problem immediately. I would recommend them to anyone.
They have great communications. They follow up with text and or email providing updates on your appointment and who will arrive and when.
The 2 guys that fixed our drain pipe worked hard and got it fixed that day. They had to dig about 4-5 feet down, cut out the cracked pipe, remove the roots, replace the pipe, bed the pipe and add copper sulfate to keep the roots from returning.
Pricing model is confusing and expensive. $214 for two $5 parts and 20 min of a technicians time.
Tech got defensive when I questioned the total cost after he was finished. You will not be disappointed with Rooterman! Our whole house was stopped up, and they were here within an hour! Our technician/plumber, Landen, was highly skilled and quickly resolved the clog.
He also took pictures and diagnosed the cause of the issue...tree roots in the sewer line! He was very nice and made sure the issue was completely resolved. Thanks, Landen and Rooterman! Attn: Manager of Excavation Services I'm happy to report I have received Rooter Man's top-notch services throughout the years.
My latest experience included the use of the excavation team, Warren Johnson, and Mario Serna. These guys are the true definition of teamwork.
They were wonderful to work with. Always had a smile on their faces and listened to the customer.
You don't want to lose them. THEY DESERVE A RAISE !!! Customer: Les Logar PS: I have also given Rooter Man's Yelp Account 5 stars Quoted $300-500 to screw my gas grill into the gas spigot on my patio.
This is a 5 minute job that I've had done before. While I get they'd have a minimum of an hour charge of something, this is an outrageous estimate.
Eddie showed up today 8/19 on time with good text communication of when to expect him. He fixed the leak and let me know not to use bleach tablets which was causing the continued issue (years of this).
I have had many plumbers over the years "fix" the deteriorated part but never explain what was causing the problem. Really appreciate that Eddie asked if I was using bleach tablets because that can cause the problem.
YEARS of this. Thanks Eddie! He was friendly, professional, quick and on time.
5 stars for Eddie. Alan T.
the assigned plumber to my appointment was on time, professional, and quite knowledgeable. He confirmed that while the hoses to my single faucet were installed properly, the deck plate cover however, could be adjusted.
Again, he was most informative when I inquired about replacing/improving my water softener and provided an estimate. I told Alan that after the holidays I will contact Rooter-Man to schedule an upgrade and installation.
Thank you Alan and thank you Brittany for your office professionalism as well. Great coordination, showed up on time, performed the repairs quickly and with high quality.
What else do you need? Ridiculous prices!! I got Rooter Man to come round as I had a water leak out the front of the house. The guy on the phone said someone would be round as quickly as possible, which is awesome.
He failed to mention that for them just to show up at my house was $80. The guy literally did NOTHING, he just looked at the pathetic hole I'd already tried digging myself, said what it MIGHT be and pulled some number out around $1200-1300 as a quote.
The problem was a cracked valve on the pipe. When I said no to the price he quoted, he then informed me I owed him $80.
When I say nothing was done, literally nothing, I find it ludicrous to charge $80! I went with another company who came out just as quick, looked into the problem for free and then quoted me a price one quarter of the price! Collen came to replace our water heater and toliet, which ended up being a lot more involved than originally thought due to the age of the house. He did a great job of laying out our options and gave us a pretty clear path forward.
We had some preventive work we were planning on holding off for but we decided to just take care of it now given how easy this whole thing was. Highly recommended- we had a leak detection and Curtis came in to check what the issue might be.
He was so knowledgeable and patient. We asked him quite a few questions drive it was our first time- not once did we see him get impatient or in a rush to complete the job.
We highly recommend rooter and Curtis. Rooter-Man came to our house to diagnose a handful of plumbing issues we've been having.
We ended up having one problem fixed (a leaky outdoor water spout) and got estimates for several larger projects that we'll need to save up for. Byron was our technician and he was great! He efficiently fixed our water spout and also educated us on our home's plumbing so we could make more informed decisions.
We plan to use Rooter-Man going forward for the larger fixes once we have budgeted for them.'''.
