Review and analyze now for company Mister Quik Home Services and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''I'm on the fence right now. The first time I called was for a plumbing, sewer line issue.
We sent a request via the email or site at like 9 or 10pm, thinking they would contact us first thing in the morning, but they called immediately and set up an appointment for the morning. They came out and did a great job, Customer service was great.
I could either pay the bill or pay for the yearly package of 199.00 and this plumbing issue would be free, so I opted to do that since I had canceled summers 2 or 3 years ago. Couple months later I scheduled my first free maintenance appt for the AC.
The guy was great, nice, smart, thorough and gave us estimate We decided to have the blower motor pulled and cleaned and freon added since he said the numbers showed it needed done. The tech came out again, great knowledge professional service.
He said the freon did not need to be added- which I love! He could have just did it and charged us and we would not have known but he said it honestly didn't need it and he didn't want to make us pay for something we didn't need. So only thing I'm on the fence about was the first guy trying to get us to pay for something we did not need? Was it an honest mistake- his equipment measured differently...
I don't know. So I have 2 other maintenance appointments included with the yearly service and I will keep yall updated.
Is 599.00 to much to pull and clean a blower? I have no idea how to compare the cost on this? Got ripped off.. 4,700 dollars for a small dehumidifier for crawl space 588.00 to change a plastic flex hose, 588.00 to clear condensation line, 588.00 to clean motor wheel.
588.00 to fix composite. In all the mr quick team said there be no interest for 12 months or iff all paid in full within 1 year.
Get a call few days later saying no they were wrong. And interest started day of service.
Am on a fixed income and yes they knew that. In the end Mr Quick is a rip off, lying company who takes advantage of elderly people..
BE CAREFULL AND DO NOT TAKE THE WORD FOR NOTHING.... VERY DISPLEASED.? Absolutely do not recommend this service to anyone.
Get a local plumber who actually cares about their business and customers. I had a quote done for a new toilet plus installation, Something that should take less than an hour.
Mister Quik decided it would be cool to price gouge me. I don't even know this is the right term, because the price they quoted me at goes beyond price gouging.
$1,200 for a new toilet and installation. I laughed, contacted Lowes, and they installed a brand new, better, dual flush toilet for less than $100.
Mister Quik clearly does not care about their customers if they are so blatantly ripping them off. Here is the quote from Mister Quik: A mixed review on multiple services.
I have used Mister Quik multiple times- a toilet leak, a plugged sewer line, and recently a water heater and sump pump replacement. I am always happy with their professionalism and knowledge- though they are in for the sale.
This has never been more apparent than the recent visit. During the water heater replacement I signed up for the SHAPE plan to get a discount on the purchase and service - and to get more routine preventative maintenance.
My first opportunity to use the SHAPE Plan was a AC maintenance rejuvenation. The person who came out was friendly and helpful with information, but honestly didn't do much and just tried to sell me a new HVAC system.
He started by gaining trust. Hey - I see you have a dehumidifier- I think there is a recall and you can get some money for that.
Then looking at the system- he said I had a plugged drain line (didn't fix or offer to), that I probably had mold (though he couldn't officially call it mold), that there was a lot of rust in the heat exchanger - especially on a very critical part. He checked the outside of the AC unit (didn't clean).
Never added any coolant. And said my AC would fail the first time the temp hits 90 or very soon after.
He also tried the whole- need to know by Sunday, don't call the office because you'd pay 10% more for a PM to quote. All in all - peaked my sense that this wasn't right.
I had a close co worker, former HVAC TECH come take a look. He cleaned the outside of my unit, actually took a look and said it has many years left.
It was 90+ all last week and the unit is working like a champ. Will be cancelling the SHAPE plan- it's not worth it if it's only an avenue for more sales and not a worth while preventative maintenance service.
They gave us an outrageous quote for a simple job. Called another plumber and they fixed it in a little over an hour and it was about $950 below Mr.
Quick's quote. Do not recommend! We were quoted for a new HVAC.
Mister Quik's quote was $10,000+ more than every other quote we got (4 total). They use fear mongering tactics to try to get you to sign day of.
Our technician wouldn't even turn the furnace back on because he warned us that it would light up in flames and he made it seem dire that we replace the HVAC that day. All 3 other companies that came out laughed when I told them this.
They admitted that the heater would definitely lose efficiency but it's not a safety hazard. The last technician we had come to our house from a different company said that Mr.
Quik is notorious for this kind of behavior. After this encounter I thought to myself "how can this be legal".
Turns out Mr.Quik was sued a few years back for this exact same thing. Read here: https://www.indystar.com/story/money/2014/01/23/mister-quik-agrees-to-50000-consumer-complaint-settlement/4796319/ Save yourself time and money and look elsewhere.
Unless you want to be completely ripped off, do not use this company. They are on it.
They are friendly they make you think they really know what they're doing, but they will charge you double what other people will we got an estimate that was outrageous. I have a friend who put in HVAC systems in commercial buildings and he said the price they were quoting us is what they charge!!! We had electrical issues I called around for estimates.
Peterman couldn't send anyone out until May 10th. So I called Mister Quik...
they came out today Sunday. It took the poor guy an hour and a half to find the issue but if found it and we got it fixed.
We opted in for the shape plan be a use We also got a quote to run electricity to our shed which will save us money as well. Otherwise today's visit would have been an additional 50 bucks.
Technician was nice, respectful and informative. We are grateful for your help! Call original with no heat, tech came out and check and stated he needs a more Senior tech to come out.
Once the senior tech checked somethings, stated I have low gas pressure and need to have the gas company come out, gas company check gas pressure and showed me the pressure was high. A few days go by and turn heat back on and same problem, I call Mr quik and was advised we will have a senior tech come and fix it.
well on first visit they never took it completely apart and checked it but this time they did and cleaned it I was charged for 2 service fees that 1 showed be waived due to them not cleaning it properly the first time that would of avoided a return call. I have kids and I'm disabled, my kids were freezing due to there neglect in service and I want a service fee waived due to there neglect This company needs a revamp on scheduling.
If you have an evening appt chances are it will get a call to reschedule your appt. Trifling Initially used Mister Quik for several small projects and the techs they sent were always friendly and helpful.
Developed what I though was a good relationship with this company and had them come out when I was having some concerns with my AC unit. Was informed by the tech that the unit was on its last leg and could go out at any moment leaving myself and my pets without AC in the middle of July.
Was given a same-day quote for services and assured that it was fair-market value and given the relationship I had from past jobs, decided to proceed with their services. I was later informed by a colleague with a spouse in the HVAC industry that they thought I had overpaid.
I requested an itemized bill from Mister Quik and after reaching out multiple times and being informed over the phone that this company does not regularly send itemized bills to customers, I received my itemized invoice. Not only was I overcharged for materials, I was charged twice for labor (one of these charges was for more than seven-thousand dollars for "Labor" for a single-day project which took less than 12 hours), and charged nearly five-thousand dollars for a general contractor that was never used (general contractors are only utilized when three or more trades are involved in a construction or home improvement project), and a 10-year membership to their maintenance service that i never agreed to.
These additional charges were all hidden under the HVAC cost that was quoted in my original estimate. I approached Mister Quik with these issues who initially denied all claims associated with their billing.
They have since admitted fault regarding the 10-year shape membership (which required a demand letter written from an attorney) but have denied all other claims. I have since done my research and found out that Mister Quik has a history of misleading and overcharging customers.
In fact, they received a lawsuit in 2012 form the Attorney General for violations of the Home Improvement Care Act requiring them to pay customers thousands in refunds. If you are looking for a company for your home improvement project, I would recommend looking anywhere else.
But don't just take my word for it. Take a few minutes and read through these reviews and take a look at Mister Quik's profile with the Better Business Bureau.
The complaints speak for themselves. We had a main drain that needed replaced.
The first guy from Mr. quick came out ran a camera the break was in the front yard.
The crew that came out dug a 12' by 12' home in my side yard. Lost all my grass lost all my plants.
Then they dug up my front yard. That's where the break was.
We will be recovering for years. I will not nor recommend them.
Lost my grass., My level yard, my plants, my thirty year old bushes. A lot of money to destroy myself.
Years of recovery. Absolutely do not use this company.
I'm sure their work is perfectly fine if you have money to set on fire and give them but the pricing was outrageous. I tried to call my initial installer and they couldn't come out until Wednesday, so I called Mister Quik as my AC went out on a Saturday in the summer.
They came the next day (great!) and then proceeded to tell me I needed to pay $6,000 for the fixes - they're more than happy to help me fill out a loan application! Mind you, my HVAC is 2.5 years old. I knew something was fishy when before telling me any of the issues or the pricing, the tech/salesperson launched into multiple videos about the "great culture" and how the organization was such a "family", only to then hit me with 6k as the most expensive, and 3k as the more reasonable price.
I then had my original installers come out for a free second opinion and they went down the quote sheet provided and did most of the stuff for free, while noting a lot of what was written was deeply unnecessary. BBB has already heard from me.
I called for an issue with my HVAC system. They immediately told me that I needed to replace both my furnace and outdoor unit.
They quoted me approximately $16,000 to replace both units. I thought this was pretty expensive based on research and previous experiences.
I called a Ferrer Mechanical for a second opinion. The outdoor unit only needed a new part, but the furnace needed replaced.
Ferrer fixed my furnace and installed the part in the outdoor unit for $3,200. They also quoted me $11,000 for a new furnace and outdoor unit as a comparable to Mister Quik.
I was very disappointed in their service. The worker was nice and professional, but I could not believe they tried to charge $5,000 more for the exact same product.
Make sure you get a second opinion for your products. Mister Quik is in the business of making large commissions off people with little HVAC knowledge.
Mr, Quick does not provide quality service. They advertise heavily for a reason.
They cannot find and retain quality technicians and thus customers pay for services that often do not deliver value. It is frustrating when they make multiple service calls to fix the same problem to make it worse or leave without completing the job.
They have missed the problem numerous times and suggest unnecessary (expensive) repairs and services. And if you are not satisfied with their service agreement/plan and pull out of that service contract they will not issue you anything close to what you paid for the plan.
What a disappointment. My suggestion is do your research! installed a faulty tankless water heater unit that we paid $11k for installed.
you know, this should have been discovered when they installed the unit. I mean, if you want to charge a Tiffany price then you should meet the expectation as well.
probably was a refurbished model that they charge new price for. just another example of incompetence They came to look at my leaking faucet.
He said it had to be replaced and it would be $1515.00. Really, for a faucet that would cost less that $200.00 at Home Depot? He rambled on for several minutes about how superior their faucets are.
He hadn't listen to anything I said about the o-rings or really looked to see what the issue was. I watched a few YouTube tutorials on leaks and went to Home Depot to get some o-rings.
I decided to try fix it myself. I tore it apart cleaned it off and replaced all the o-rings, added a few drops of silicone and tightened all the hoses.
No leak and for 10 bucks I have enough various sized o-rings to last for eternity. They just thought they could get money by being dishonest.
Been waiting almost two months to get my floor where their warranted water heater burst. Still no bueno, little-to-no communication.
I'm about ready to have it fixed myself and seek legal counsel. My advice, steer clear.
Had a tree pull my electricity box away from my house! Called many electricians to get them to come out on a holiday weekend.. these guys were the only ones that answered the phone! They came to the appointment and fixed EVERYTHING for me! They were extremely helpful, very professional and did exactly what they were supposed to do efficiently and timely! I highly recommend this company.
Great guys too! My water heater was going out last Wednesday and I called Mister Quik. I had the same experience as many of the reviewers here; you call and they say they are sending a technician, but they are really sending a salesman.
Sales man convinced me to purchase their SHAPE plan to check up on things like your HVAC and water heater and etc, but did not mention that the plan is self renewing (I will be cancelling before it renews). They pushed an AO Smith water heater and disparaged the maker of my old water heater.
They also told me that it would take about an hour and a half, two hours tops to complete the install. It ended up taking them double that time.
After the install was complete, the technician left me a note saying that "a heat duct may have separated when he drilled into the floor" and that he wanted a heating and air technician to come and look at it. The technician looked in my crawlspace today and sent me a picture of the duct separated...along with a quote of $983 to replace and connect the duct (TUH!) and $1400 to install a sump pump (which I do NOT need).
These people have lost their minds. I believe these people are truly on a money grab.
I will not ever recommend using this company for home repairs. They received two stars because I do have a new water heater that works fine, but it came at too great a cost.
Unfortunately, system will not allow me to give a minus rating. However, that is what is warranted.
Reported issue was not addressed. Serviceman identified another issue (really)? I now have a debt and the initial problem still exist.
Who replaces a water heater and does not remove the old one. Who lays pipes for a water line and does not put down proper support (peat)? Who leaves openings uncovered? What plumber called because of water in the basement cusses, fusses and walks off the job? Yours.....
I would not normally write a negative review but this is too much!!! Thank you. I will never call Mr.
Quick again. They have half assed everything they do.
I cant believe they would leave me like this and tell me they won't come out and fix it. I had set up an appointment 4 day in advance.
3 hours past the appointment time no show and no call. When I called the company Zoe stated they had a lot of emergency call in and the were going to call me to reschedule.
I informed her I had been without use of my kitchen for over 1 week and now they were going to put me off for another week. They did not call me to tell me they weren't coming.
She did offer me $50 off the normal $89 service call. I will never use this company nor recommend anyone use them For your sake, NEVER USE THIS COMPANY.
They are unprofessional, unethical, dishonest and extremely low quality. I wouldn't wish my experiences on my worst enemies.
My $7,000 new furnace broke within 6 months, and because it was the motor, I was without AC in dangerous temperatures. they refused to provide times for arrival, and had NO URGENCY about the fact that I was without AC due to their faulty equipment.
I requested portable units in the meantime and they brought one unit that literally wasn't even able to be constructed by the tech, and the other didn't work or fit in the window. Mr Quick lost me thousands, as well as caused me to cancel a very important trip.
never ever use these fraudsters The only reason I'm inclined to even give one star is because they did respond quickly. I had some very slow moving drains so we called to get them out to do thier magic.
The pricing is reasonable especially in this market. However if your called out to clean a main drain and the drain isn't draining there's a problem.
It felt more like he was trying to upsell rather than snake the main drain. I relize I'm in an old home but I am very aware what was used then is far more durable than the new.
I didn't notice a difference in the draining and three weeks later it's coming out the over flow. I should have called them back out immediately but at this point as hard as they were trying to sell me on I needed to replace the line to the sewer had me very uncomfortable.
We finally did call and it has not even been thirty days and they want me to pay again. Now mind you when he cleaned the line he did show me some tree roots he pulled out.
However it was very little. I've been here for more than thirty years and take my word for it I've seen some roots! When they arrived wanting us to pay again today of course we said no way! We called someone else and got the drain done and it is now draining correctly.
The young man did do the camera as well to see if there is a problem. Needless to say there is no immediate need for the drain to be replaced.
They wanted some excessive amount of money to replace the line from the house to the street when there's absolutely nothing wrong with what is there! I can't help but feel like they thought they had old suckers to prey on! Nope run if you can they are not honest and do not stand behind the work they do! The new company that came does guarantee the work for 67 days. I was absolutely floored they wanted to charge again for about 18 days of still not draining well! There are not big ole holes and cracks in the line! They made it sound like it's going to collapse at anytime.
Ugh stay clear of them! Had a floor drain in garage that was clogged. Two techs came out and said they couldn't fix so I needed to have concrete broken up and new floor drain put it.
A $99 fix became a $2600 fix real quick. I called Peterman Bros and they came out for a second opinion.
Ran an auger and had drain cleared in 10 minutes. I feel like Mr Quik tried to scam me.
I so recommend Peterman Bros and ask for Eric Graham to come out. He was professional.
Unlike the scammers from Mr Quik. Do NOT use this company.
I plan on filling a complaint with the BBB. They charged us 12,000 to install a water softener and tankless water heater.
When we charged the price of the units at lows they were both a TOTAL of around 4,000. I'm sick to my stomach that we paid that much.
Lesson learned. I also now know to NEVER trust Google reviews as they can delete bad ratings.
They can not do that on Yelp. I wish I could give 0 stars.
My property manager has used Mister Quik for two different electrical services, today being the most recent. My window of time was scheduled between 10 and noon, but the technician was running a bit late.
The office was kind enough to let me know and asked if that would work for me. They also asked if everyone in the house was feeling well and/or had any COVID symptoms which I thought was very responsible of them as a company.
The office called again a bit later to let me know that Bill would arrive in half an hour, which he did. He was very friendly and knowledgeable.
My light switch had a short in it and he explained the defect to me which caused my overhead hallway light to flicker and work intermittently. He then replaced it in record time (maybe 15 mins.
max). It looks great and works like new again.
I can't speak to their prices, as my property manager covered that but my two experiences with this company have been very favorable. Two thumbs up, Mr.
Quik! Was with them over 10 years; mostly fine work but they have made some serious mistakes which they always fixed, but still.... I was on the Shape plan for twice yearly HVAC cleanings/checkups and they ALWAYS try to sell me things I really don't need.
Recently they went to a new system that makes the tech have to take two full hours to do this check up the past 2 times they came - about half of which was spent uploading things in their system and taking movies/photos to show me why I need to buy their overpriced stuff I don't really need. Finally quit them today (the final straw) when I was told I needed air duct cleaning ($1150) and blower motor cleaning ($500)! Most other companies include blower motor cleaning as part of the twice yearly service I have since learned, so there's a ripoff.
I got two quotes on air duct cleaning both for $600, and I got a blower motor cleaning quote (take it out completely and put back in) for $150. Avoid if you can.
We had the water heater let go this weekend. A family member highly recommended Mister Quick, so we decided to give them a shot.
The tech showed up and was pleasant and professional. So I'll give them that.
However, he quoted me a price of $1700-1800 to replace a 40 gallon A.O Smith water heater. This is about a $400-500 water heater.
So they're talking about charging $1200-1300 for labor and warranty? Lol. I declined.
I then went to Lowe's, bought the water heater, an extended parts and labor warranty, and paid an additional fee for same day install. When it was all said and done, I'd myself between $700-800 (had I opted to wait a day or two for install, I would have saved nearly a $1000) going this route.
My advice; Look around before calling on Mister Quick. Ever feel like you just got "taken"? Get three quotes before the "Service" guy sells you a way over priced furnace.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They rip off and take it advantage of you.
We called them out to inspect our HVAC because their air conditioner was out. They found the part was a dual motor starter that needed to be replaced.
They charged us $621 to replace the part we did a quick search online and found the part on multiple websites for $15. I called Mister quik the next day to ask what the discrepancy was and they said a manager would call back in 24 to 48 hours.
They are in no rush to call you back and I had to call multiple times to get the manager on the line. I spoke to Sarah and she said there is no discrepancy in the price that's the price in the price book she said the part price covers things like their insurance and their storage and their inventory fees and holding the part in a truck and paying for the training of their employees.
I told her we paid an $89 service fee for her employee to come out and inspect and diagnose which covers his fees and the rest of the fees are ridiculous. She apologized and offered to reimburse the $89 service fee, but the part cannot be changed.
They made $600 over a 10 minute visit. Please read the reviews of this company before deciding to call them in an emergency because you will just be ripped off like everyone else was.
I wish I can give zero stars because that's what this company deserves and I will be going to the Better Business Bureau and making sure they're aware of them taking advantage of customers. This company deserves to be closed. Just saw this reply.
There was no confirmed price! Credit cards work even in Asia where I was but was told , No final price until job done. Daah..
Only an idiot would give a plumber a loaded gun. Not coming back till goof ball employee is fired to begin with, they have been out a total of 3 times before the actual problem was addressed.
our unit kept freezing over due to a leak. this unit was placed 3 yrs prior to me moving in, shouldn't be having this issue, understand shit happens.
they have tried to sell me a new unit every single time. by the time the knowledgeable sales guy was out, we got the repair financed thru ally with the understanding we would be renewing our "SHAPE" plan for yearly maintenance.
i asked specific questions about whether it would overlap with the existing "SHAPE" plan or start when the exisiting one ended with the guy confirming it would start once the new one ended. then to find out after our unit froze over again yesterday (3 months after the repair), they did not follow through on their part.
they never renewed our "SHAPE" plan and our financing just shows a dollar amount, not the break down of what its for & the receipt left for us doesnt indicate ANYTHING on it, only a total price. they expect me to shell out ANOTHER $200 to renew a plan when they can't even fix the problem they were already paid to fix.
*which cost $
