Review and analyze now for company The Irish Plumber and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''After reading numerous five-star reviews online, I decided to contact The Irish Plumber, and I was not disappointed. I needed a toilet replacement but informed them it wasn't urgent.
Just two days later, Timothy arrived at my home and completed the installation. He was polite, professional, and efficient, completing the job quickly with excellent results.
I highly recommend The Irish Plumber for their outstanding service and professionalism. A well-deserved 5++ stars.
Very expensive. I was in a bind, water heater had leaked after we were gone for the weekend, he did tell me the price and i stupidly agreed.
$3400 I looked up the model he bought from home depo that is $750 he was here 4 hours so his labor was over 640 an HOUR. Now I know Lowes installs water heaters for free and removed the old one.
The work was good but I think he took advantage of my situation. I brought all this up when he left and he got very angry and finally took 100 off.
I will never use this company again. The Irish Plumber was wonderful.
Not only did my sink faucet get replaced, but I also asked for additional things to be done at the last minute. He was very accommodating and fixed our faucet, toilet and shower.
Everything works better than it ever had. I went on their website after hours and still received a response that night.
It was a great experience from start to finish. Needed a new hot water heater, it was an emergency.
This guy charged double what I would have paid for a non-cheap heater from Home Depot. He said: "this is better, it's commercial-grade".
Umm, that's meaningless to me, my old heater was fine. And the new water heater blocks where the air filter goes into the furnace which was not a problem before! I would not have gone through with the transaction but my house had no water.
Got over charged for a hot water heater I didn't even need. Yelp chose to remove my review and placed it under "reviews not recommended" What a joke.
Must be paying for his 5 star review. Do not recommend.
Excellent service and responsiveness. Fair prices.
I would definitely use The Irish Plumber again. Showed up within hours of first call, in mask.
Completed work and even additional stuff that was helpful to us. They left the area clean up and working faster than they estimated for a price we didn't feel gouged by.
Will use them for any future issues. We are long-time clients.
The best feature of this business is the quick response and attention you receive. I can call, and a plumber is at my house in an hour or so.
Professional and reasonably priced. Great advice and perspective.
Turns out we did not actually use the Irish Plumber's services, but Kieran was such a good communicator that I wanted to leave a positive review. In scheduling an appointment, we were exchanging texts and I asked about a video sewer inspection and was told that The Irish Plumber doesn't offer that service.
In texting back and forth, I got a text that said "It may be a better option calling a company with a camera to be honest". In my opinion such honesty is exceptional in the plumbing industry.
So I wanted to leave this positive review. If I do need plumbing services I will have The Irish Plumber at the top of my call list.
Thanks Kieran for the honesty and excellent communication. Worst experience ever.
A simple clogged sink should not cost $285.00 I sent him out before he continued cutting a financial artery. This business gauges customers in high income zip codes.
Ridiculous price structure. He took my sink apart, fixed nothing and charged me for a.part he installed that doesn't even work.
Never ever use this company! Just finished our second job with the Irish Plumber and wanted to share the praise they deserve. The first job was adding two frost-free exterior hose bibs with proper drain valves.
The second was replacing a toilet. In both instances the team picked up the phone when we called, arrived on time, kept the place very clean, did a quality job, responded to questions, and stayed right on their quoted price.
You can't really ask for more. I have every expectation that the Irish Plumber will continue its honest and reliable operation with high marks for quality work and customer service.
A tile installer removed then reinstalled the toilet, causing it to flush with only a portion of the tank. Got prompt and capable service.
The price was a bit high, but it was a problem-free repair. The Irish Plumber has been our go-to plumbing support for years.
They have helped us on both small and big jobs with the same high level of care and concern for our home. Kieran is always responsive and the actual plumber (most recently Steve) is always an expert that takes the time to explain what he sees and consult with me on a plan of action.
Returned home from Florida and found a spot on the ceiling of the pantry off the kitchen had expanded and felt damp to the touch. My worst fear was that we had a roof leak - but thought I ought to check the master bath whirlpool tub.
Sure enough - small drip from cracked hot water braided feed line that I could see through the access panel. I put a drip pan under the leak and caught most of the water.
Called The Irish Plumber - and got a call back in a few minutes. Described the problem and Ian showed up at our door a few hours later.
He conducted a quick diagnosis, determined the non-standard parts needed, consulted with his boss and together, we determined that Ian would return the next day and get the job done. Ian arrived at the appointed time, investigated in depth, provided a cost estimate and got to work.
Got the job done done in a few hours and we are pleased as punch. Very competent work - and at a very reasonable price.
Will definitely call The Irish Plumber again for any repair work. Had emergency and called to see if I could get serviced, someone was able to come first thing in the am and fix the bathroom leak! This is the second time we have used this company and have been very pleased.
Highly recommended! I had a very good experience with this company and I'm glad I found them. Kieran, is honest, responsive, and a good communicator.
I was provided with upfront and reasonable pricing. The plumber, Steve, that came to my house was very nice and professional.
He did quality work and articulately answered my questions. I highly recommend this company for your plumbing needs.
We called The Irish Plumber to remedy items identified in our home inspection. Kieran did a great job confirming the items we knew about, talking us through items that we thought were issues, but weren't, and he identified a couple items missed during the inspection.
The proposal came quickly and was revised upon request. We had some sink repairs, valves replaced, and a new water heater installed.
The guys doing the work did a great job, kept the house clean in the process, and answered all of my questions about water heater maintenance. Would highly recommend using them.
Extremely great service. Day of appointment.
Even showed up early. Ian quickly identified the issue and had it fix quickly.
Thank you for the hard work. These guys are con artists and their work faulty.
I had a kitchen sink (2nd flr) backing up. These guys arrived and snaked the main drain from the basement utility sink not kitchen sink.
Took them a while to take apart drain (they did a terrible job putting it back together) they ran a snake down the drain and said they had cleared it. They told me it would be $500-$600 which I knew was high, but what can you do, they wouldnt give me a price up front (my first mistake).
I asked them to run the kitchen water, which was the drain I called them about in the first place. They ran the water and it still backed up.
They told me it would be another $400-$500 to clear the kitchen sink. Really?! I paid over $1,000 for a simple snake out job.
When I complained to the owner, he begrudgingly agreed to reimburse me $100, but never did. The worst part is, two weeks later it backed up again.
I called a different Plumber who cleared the drain within 20 minutes and charged me $235. They Irish plumber took advantage of the situation and intentionally overcharged.
They are terrible and do not warranty their work. This is the only Yelp review I have ever written.
Probably the only one I may ever write, but that's just how terrible and dishonest these guys are. Stay away from them.
When we moved into our home and needed a plumber the first week, I realized I didn't have a go-to company. But now I do! The Irish Plumbers came for what I thought was a small clog.
Unfortunately, they discovered a more extensive problem and had to come a second day to spend more time tracing an old pipe buried deep under our house. From the first few minutes of their visit, I was impressed.
The crew was kind, detail-oriented, and explained every thing to me along the way. And they really spent a lot of time making sure I understood the process and how they were addressing the fixes to our kitchen.
The bid and pricing were clear and The Irish Plumber was quick to adjust the price when the job wrapped up earlier than anticipated. Super impressed by their work and professionalism! Problem fixed and I have full confidence that I've found a great company.
Had a great experience using The Irish Plumber. My pressure reducing valve was leaking and on the way out.
It was causing excess pressure to the fixtures and appliances in the house, not to mention the small puddle I found on the floor in the laundry room. Researched many different plumbing companies in the area and found many had decent amount of negative reviews on different sites.
Not The Irish Plumber. That was the determining factor for me.
Steve arrived within the promised time frame and was professional and knowledgeable. Steve replaced the pressure reducing valve and pointed out how it would be a good idea to add a ball valve on the line after the pressure reducing valve.
This way there is another shut off option in case the valve before the pressure reducing valve fails. I have found my go to plumbing company when I am in a jam.
Ian from The Irish Plumber just complete a job for us and we are very pleased. He did the work quickly and was very professional.
Pricing was as expected and seemed fair. Will us them again and recommend this company without reservation.
I have yet to have them do any work for me but feel compelled to share what a fantastic operation these guys are. I moved into a house recently and found the cold water does not function in my shower.
Reached out based on reviews to schedule a visit to see if they can fix it and started by getting an email to clarify. Several emails and phone calls invested thus far and really all for the purpose of making sure they can help me and at an appropriate cost.
I have yet to give these guys a dime and they have already invested seemingly a ton of time and effort into making sure I am in a position for them to do the job I need done without wasting a bunch of time. Not the average plumber story you usually hear.
Hopefully approaching the time soon for them to actually come out and make the fix but had to share how impressive they have been so far. I've called the Irish Plumber for everything from replacing my hot water heater, to a leaky shower and leaking washing machine and finally to winterizing my 60 year old home.
The entire team is professional and the work is top notch. They are always on time, polite, and affordable.
I have used other services where they vendor was late, left a terrible mess and over priced. You won't experience any of this with The Irish Plumber.
I believe in supporting local small businesses and it pays off! Where to start? Bolt accurately distinguished a long standing drainage issue that had baffled other The Irish Plumber for a considerablelong time and really settled it for ever. It included a forensic investigation of our 45 year old home with numerous a perplexing wander aimlessly along the way however they took the inconvenience of nailing it down before prompting us on the suitable fix.
The level of preparing, honesty and polished methodology is unmatched, administration is uber affable and smart and the cost is more than reasonable for the quality received. Each and every individual all through the workplace is somebody you would welcome in your home - or during supper if the event ought to emerge - though I can't talk exceptionally enough of the outcomes.
I had heard rave audits from neighbors, kindred board individuals on a non-benefit and, obviously, on Yelp and might want to include an excited ""So be it!"" Even on the off chance that they couldn't fit me in on a given day - which they generally have, could never go to another handyman again! These guys did a very difficult project for us with very quickly and with great honesty. We will definitely call them again! I have an Irish name, live in Alexandria, in the Parkfairfax area, and needed a plumber.
So, I read all the reviews and decided to try the Irish Plumber as it is a family business, and seemed to be a good, reputable company. Steve showed up and reviewed my kitchen sink, giving me his opinion, stating the pipes and garbage disposal are old (that's what Parkfairfax building are...old), and asked me if he should still do the service I requested....to snake out the kitchen sink.
I admit the price was steep, and I had to ask for some help to cover the cost. But, I already had 2 weeks of enduring a slow, then a backed up sink, so I say OK.
He carefully put down plastic to cover the kitchen floor and dove under the kitchen sink, pulling out lots of supplies I stored there. After a while, he said that there was a blockage but he had "punched through" and he ran the water which went down easily.
He checked all the bathroom tub, sink and toilet to make sure they all ran normally; they did. Then, he took up all the plastic and I asked him if he had put all the bottles back under the sink and he looked straight at me and said Yes.
I gave him a check and he left. I should have checked myself, but I have limited mobility (and no way to bend down under the sink to put things back).
Well, he left everything out on the floor, and the area under the sink was left very wet because he had to open the pipe, of course, to snake it out. But, he didn't clean up and there was a puddle the size of the kitchen sink area.
I couldn't catch up with him, with a cane, so I called the main number and very luckily, someone answered, and said they would call the truck. Minutes later he appeared, a little less happy this time, but he did TOSS the bottles back under the sink, after removing the layer of newspapers I had placed under the bottles years earlier in case of a drip.
He didn't feel the need to take the new newspapers I have available to replace them, said it wasn't necessary. Then, after literally tossing the bottles, helter skelter, under the sink (not neatly placed upright as I had done long earlier, and that he found them when he arrived), he left.
So, I say the visit was only OK because the BASIC service call was accomplished, the pride in the work was not there (because that means leaving the place as neat as it was when you arrived). The bottles are still helter skelter as I can't bend down to straighten them, as I don't know when I will get to finding someone to help me erect those laying on their sides.
The Better Business Bureau grades this company with a A+. I printed off all the reviews and gave them to Steve so he could see how so many people appreciated his, Kieran's, and Bolt's work.
But that last oversight under the sink, after telling me straight out that he had put things back, and leaving the floor and under sink is disarray, considering I paid a royal fee for the service, has left me a disappointed, as I was looking for the best local service to call AGAIN when the need arises. I'll have to think about it.
Take this review and the others to heart; some are great, a couple not so. Like I said, the basic need was take care of promptly, but the followup that you expect came up short, and the fee was definitely hard to pay, even with a senior discount.
Just had these guys come over to fix a problem with the drain in my bathroom. Plumbing services will always cost money, but these guys are as good as it gets for the going rate around here.
They fixed our drain issues and also alerted us to a problem with our toilet, which we were able to fix on our own. Overall, I was very pleased with the service provided.
I was very impressed with the customer service exhibited by these guys. I had a leak in my laundry sink faucet.
I had put it off for a long time, until last week when I noticed that the washing machine feed had started to leak as well. I did my best to tighten the 35 year old fixtures over the past months, unfortunately this time it sprung a leak that was shooting into the air and onto the floor.
I called Kieran at The Irish Plumber. He was very helpful.
He asked me to send a picture which I did. His communication was excellent and he responded right away.
Told me what I already suspected, they would have to be replaced. I explained that the budget was tight and he offered to work with me.
If I bought the fixtures he would have his guys install them. He further went on to say he couldn't have anyone there for 2 days.
I told him I had to shut off the water and that waiting 2 days wasn't and option. Within 20 mins he called back and had someone come out that afternoon.
The person who arrived was very knowledgeable and had the repair complete in an hour and a half! And did it for a very reasonable rate! Thank You Irish Plumber! You guys are the best! Competent and fairly priced - the Irish Plumber took on a small but somewhat pain in the neck job for me. They had to go on a hunt to match old Kohler faucets - it took a lot of time and trouble which I appreciate that very much.
Plus, great wry sense of humor. It was easy to schedule service with this business.
The technician they sent was courteous, prompt and professional. He updated me on what needed to be done, provided accurate cost estimates before proceeding, answered all questions to my satisfaction, inspired confidence and was well trained to handle the job.
I would recommend them for plumbing services. I had a bad problem with a leaky & corroded faucet.
Kieran gave me a very good evaluation on previous work & recommendation for solution to the problem and the repair worked perfectly. I couldn't recommend the Irish Plumber more highly.
Very honest people. Quick response to online request and scheduled to accomodate, arrived on time and repaired my kitchen faucet saving me from having to purchase new one - yay! Trifecta! This is the second time I've used the Irish Plumber for various repairs in my townhouse.
Will definitely call them again. They are the best I've found in 15 yrs in Alexandria.
Exceptionally competent, prompt, courteous, and fairly priced. The Irish Plumber correctly diagnosed and then repaired a hard-to-find plumbing leak that others had unsuccessfully attempted to fix.
I'd use them again without hesitation. Completely satisfied with their work, attitude, and the price.
We've used three plumbers in the area and will only use the Irish Plumber going forward. We've hired them twice.
Their technicians are so polite and professional. Before completing the work they go over the costs and have a binder that lists all of the charges associated with each repair so you know you're not being taken advantage of or that it's just what they feel like charging that day.
They are excellent about cleaning up the work space and going over repairs with you. And both times the plumbers have done something to save us money.
Can't recommend them enough! I requested a quote through Yelp to replace a garbage disposal and received a reply immediately with a reasonable price and an offer to come out the very same day. I called and arranged an appointment for later that week due to our work schedules.
They arrived on time and installed the new garbage disposal quickly and efficiently. Thank you for the fantastic service! The plumber who showed up at my door was not Irish! :) But he was nice and knowledgeable and did a good job.
He also showed up at my house on time. The pipes under my kitchen sink had been leaking because a previous, clueless contractor had not sealed my pipes properly.
The Irish plumber sealed them, and I have not had any problems in the months since then. In addition, the previous contractor had hooked up my garbage disposal incorrectly (somehow not up to code), and the Irish plumber fixed it.
Plumbers are expensive, but the prices here were fine. This business is licensed and insured and is a member of the Better Business Bureau.
I WILL call them in the future when I have another plumbing need, be it for a toilet, water heater, dishwasher, faucet installation, drain, or anything else. A good plumber is hard to find, but this plumber is a good one.
(P.S. If you are wondering why I knocked off a star, I am a picky, hard-to-impress person!) We can't thank the Irish Plumbers enough! Very courteous, neat, clean, on time, and knowledgeable- they even fixed a leaking kitchen faucet for free, that wasn't the problem A severely clogged kitchen sink led to our call.
Having gone to the larger outfits in the past two years with mediocre results, we felt we ought to try this smaller local company. Surprised and very pleased.
They take the time to explain things and prepare the site, protecting all surfaces. Will have them come back for other jobs now! The luck of the Irish be with you! It is so refreshing to find a service provider like this.
They are polite, upfront, and will help you any way possible. I've used them numerous times and they are always great and affordable.
Most recently my water heater exploded - after hours of dealing with home owner warranty provided plumbers, none had actually shown up. I t was a Friday at 4pm now, and I was worried this would last all weekend.
I gave up and called the Irish Plumber, they were over within the hour. They worked until 9pm, hauling equipment in/out in the pouring rain.
They were polite till the end and cleaned everything up. We had a good experience using them for our garbage disposal replacement - on time, friendly, and transparent.
I plan to use them again. I have used these guys several times.
Great plumbers aren't easy to find. Keiran does a fantastic job of installing neat organized plumbing infrastructures.
They were able to come the day after I called which was great since the first several people I tried said it could be several days to get me on their schedule. They were on time, thorough, and also very helpful in making decisions about the most cost effective ways to fix my plumbing issues.
I was extremely happy with their service, the cost was reasonable and quotes for additional repairs were also reasonable. I would definitely call them again.
Same Day Service on a busted pipe. Fair price.
Fast. Great experience.
I talked to Kieran, and he walked me through some research and a home repair solution. Extremely happy with the service and swift response.
I was referred to The Irish Plumber by several of my neighbors in the Fairlington neighborhood. I have an older toilet that would continuously run and make a loud whining noise when flushed.
I made an appointment with The Irish Plumber over the phone, and the two-man plumbing team showed up within the two hour window I was given. The plumbers, after assessing the problem, gave me multiple options, from replacing just the basics to a complete rebuild, and gave me the pros and cons and pricing of each.
I felt that I was being treated fairly, and the plumbers walked me through what exactly they were doing, and what problems I might incur down the road since my toilet is so old. I've never used a plumber before, so I can't speak to the pricing, but The Irish Plumber fixed the problem in a timely manner and were respectful of my time throughout the process.
I would recommend The Irish Plumber without hesitation. We had a number of plumbing issues and decided to use the Irish Plumber who had listed their services in our parish bulletin.
After thoroughly explaining each function he proposed to perform and the related prices, we decided to limit the services provided to replacing the cartridge in a bathroom faucet and cleaning and tightening a pipe under the kitchen sink to eliminate a leak. Total cost was a little more than $400.
The technician was in our house approximately and hour and a half. The work done was professional but extremely pricey.
One of the issues we did not pursue with the plumber was a quote of $200 to replace a leaky spout in the bathroom shower. Based on information rpovided by the internet, we were able to replace the leaky spout ourself in 10 minutes with a $12 part.
Unlike other plumbers we have used in the past, we were not provided with an invoice showing labor and parts costs broken out separately. We will likely go back to our old plimber who just charges a reasonable hourly rate and parts.
I am reposting this review after YELP removed it, along with a few others without any justification.. and just so other folks are aware, I have come to learn this is a practice VERY popular with the YELP Company! I am sure most other people dont have the time to repost their thoughts, but I only post for companies who EARN my positive review and was angry when YELP removed them.
So, Irish Plumber is a company who I've used for several years and have been happy with their services. They have assisted my with clogged drains, sump pump issues and more and have been fair, timely and educated on every account.
Their pricing is competitive but most importantly they do a GOOD JOB of fixing the problem and unlike other companies you wont have to call them back again in a few days because they didnt do it right the first time! IRISH does it right on the first visit and offered me a lot of good advice on how to troubleshoot a few reoccuring problems on my own. So, I will be using them long term and have sent a few friends their way, too.'''.
