Review and analyze now for company Four Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''After I posted my last experience about Four Seasons' services, the company reached out to me. A service man came over and did a good job in cleaning my boiler.
I have noticed my furnace and central air unit will not come on. After seeing Four Seasons commercial on t.v.
I had scheduled an appointment to get a diagnosis in why the furnace and central air unit is not coming on for Saturday, June 29, 2024. The service person very nice and extremely knowledgeable arrived to diagnosis the problem.
The service person have noticed the fuse was blown in the furnace and started trouble shooting in why the fuse was blown out. Close to 3 hours, the service person located the problem tracing to the contactor in the central air unit.
The service person have checked the central air unit 45 minutes into the visit and within the 2 hour and 40 minutes checking between the furnace and the central air unit. I have received a price of $705 to replace the contactor and fuse.
The day was so hot. After researching in how much the part cost thru google, the part cost thru google will cost less than $40 (fuse and the contactor, see image) that is over $650 in labor cost just to installed the two parts that took less than 30 minutes to do plus the diagnosis.
The total cost with the service call fee which was $85 was a total of $790. The invoice does not show an itemize breakdown of the part cost and the labor cost, see image.
The reason for the four stars is Four Season is very pricey. I did had appointment set up for the central air unit tune-up and cancelled it.
I am afraid the cleaning of the central air unit will cost over $500 not including the $85 service call. I will be shopping around for reasonable prices for the cleaning of the central air unit.
The service person Mike Perry took his time to trouble shoot the situation and is very knowledge and explained step by step what he was doing and explaining how each components work. Mike Perry is a keeper with the company, it is just the pricing is pricey for two parts that cost less than $40 and the diagnosis.
I sure will hate to see what the invoice would have been if the service person had stayed over 5 hours. I'm torn writing this review.
On the one hand, we've worked with Four Seasons a few times since buying our home in 2015 and have had fine experiences with them (including buying and installing a new furnace). In August 2024, we needed major repairs on our plumbing and we hired Four Seasons to do the job.
They came out to the house with an excavator, removed a part of my iron fence, and then dug a huge hole in my yard only to realize they couldn't continue the same day without calling CDOT. Turns out, this job would involve CDOT, permits, and a larger repair than any of us anticipated.
And here's where we ran into the problem: Four Seasons ghosted us. They made a lot of promises to call CDOT, call project managers, put it altogether into emails and get back to us "within a week or two" and they just...
disappeared. We called them every week for about a month before kind of giving up.
So, my husband and I called them about two weeks ago, just thinking maybe this process with CDOT takes way longer than even we thought but no, we were just put on hold a bunch more and promised we'd get calls back by EOD tomorrow, next day... nothing.
One person even told my husband that "Alfred sent your wife an email already" and my husband asked when, only to find out a minute later that Alfred sent the email just now when asked about it. And I still haven't even gotten an email from Alfred.
My husband was promised a call from an excavation manager on 10/28 and, obviously, we heard nothing. We hired Four Seasons to do a big job, paid them a deposit, only for them to come ruin our front yard (that we have to pay to put back together) and then ghost us when the job was too complicated.
Solid mediocrity. It's September 24, 2024 and I can affirmly state this place should be avoided.
What's stated via phone isn't executed Tech today had no idea and I was perplexed how the work order didn't make it known given I just spoke with the rep last night and got this scheduled for today. Call the 800# and they rattle off the scheduled work today.
Shocking. The rep tries to leave saying he'll just wait on the truck.
Sir, wait for what?! I'm giving you your company rep that can explain the process as he's on the phone. We were waiting for you to get off the phone to get this resolved.
Y'all the tech proceeded to walk out. We just closed on our new home and our experience with Four Seasons Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing, and Electric was extremely disappointing.
Their service was not only unprofessional but also resulted in several damages to my property:Dropped tools into our sump pump and never removed them: The team left tools in our sump pump, which could have caused serious issues. They didn't even bother to retrieve them.Punctured walls incorrectly and didn't fix them: They punctured walls in multiple places, but instead of fixing their mistakes, they left the damage for us to deal with.Removed the rain gutter and forgot to replace it: This negligence resulted in flooding, causing even more damage to our home.Dropped tools on hardwood floors and chipped them: Their carelessness also extended to dropping tools on our hardwood floors, leading to chips and scratches.Broke a window while laying conduit: During the installation, they broke a window inches from where they were laying conduit, adding to the list of damages caused by their unprofessionalism and lied and said they didn't do it.
This will cost us $1200 to fix.Refused to adjust the balance to pay for the broken window: Despite the clear responsibility for the broken window, they refused to adjust our bill to cover the costs. To make matters worse, when we attempted to resolve these issues, they were completely uncooperative.
We had no choice but to contact the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to file a complaint. We would strongly advise to be cautious when considering this company for any services.
We have never had an experience even close to this horrible. This is so disheartening having this happen to our new home with no resolve what so ever.
I had a very troubling experience with Four Seasons Heating & Cooling when I called them to clean my furnace at the start of the season. Unfortunately, this turned into a stressful and unsettling situation that I feel compelled to share.
The technician who came out initially told me that my furnace could not be cleaned because it was condemned due to a broken heat exchanger. He said the furnace was unsafe to operate, warned me of extreme hazards like carbon monoxide poisoning or even a fire, and turned off the gas.
I was told not to turn it back on under any circumstances. This left me feeling scared and stressed, to the point where I had a shingles outbreak from the anxiety caused by the situation.
Feeling uneasy about the situation, I called my home warranty company, who charged me a deductible for a service call. The technician sent by the warranty company checked the furnace and confirmed that the heat exchanger was not broken and turned the furnace back on without issue.
This was a relief, but I still felt unsettled by the experience. I then called Four Seasons back, and they sent out one of their "top technicians" for a second opinion.
He thoroughly inspected the furnace and also confirmed that the heat exchanger was not broken. However, after speaking with the company again, they told me that they would need to send a "Senior Technician" to investigate why their first technician had condemned my furnace.
I still don't have an explanation for the misleading diagnosis, and my furnace has still not been cleaned as I originally requested. I'm extremely disappointed by the way Four Seasons handled this situation.
It feels as though they tried to scare me into believing that my furnace was beyond repair, possibly to pressure me into purchasing a new one. I understand that mistakes can happen, but the use of fear and urgency in this case is completely unacceptable.
After three different technicians came to my home, I still don't have any answers, and my furnace is still not cleaned. I would expect a much more professional and transparent approach from a company I trusted to maintain my heating system.
I will update once the fourth technician comes out. Dang -- I really wish I had a better experience with Four Seasons Heating and Air.
At the end of the day we did get a new AC unit after ours gave out, but I can't help but feel they were a little slimy about the whole thing. As luck would have it I was home with my 8 month old when our AC hit the gutter in the middle of a heat wave.
The Four Seasons team was able to show up at our home the next morning and basically confirmed that yes: we need a new AC unit. The salesman I met with was nice and made it seem like he was getting me the best deal possible on a (pricey) new AC unit.
A few hours later, a new team came to install it, and up until this point I felt really great about my experience with them. This is where it gets shady: The unit didn't fit through the hatch to get on our roof where all the AC units in our building go.
The guys installing went up there and noticed that the unit that was sold to us was much larger than all the others on the roof. They informed me that is was the type of unit that would be used in a single family home, not an apartment unit.
The salesman had gone on the roof, seen our original unit, and (should have) measured the hatch so that the new unit he sold to us fit through it correctly. Based on the information I have, he took advantage of my lack of knowledge on the subject and upsold us.
After 3 hours with the install team (and time on the phone with customer service) they left unable to install the new unit because of the size, so I was left with no AC on another 100 degree day. They came back the following day and were able to make the installation by breaking apart the unit and rebuilding it on the roof.
The salesman did give us a call to ensure that he was not trying to upsell us, but I'm not sure I buy it. At that point we were without AC for 72 hours and with a baby, it wasn't worth the continued back and forth.
We needed air. After the 7 HOUR (!!) day getting the new unit installed, the job was done.
One of the workers left his backpack of supplies at our house, and they also didn't close the hatch to the roof properly. A huge storm came through and resulted in water all over the hallway floor of our building.
Luckily a neighbor caught it and laid a tarp down before it did more severe damage. Updated.
Four Seasons contacted me and they came back out to complete the work. Everything is up and running.
The supervisor were on site to make sure the job were done correctly. The only thing I wish could have done better was the routing of wires and copper pipes.
Other than that, I am satisfied with the work. Erik B.
came out for my yearly furnace check on October 21, 2024 (2pm-6pm block) and was great. He took time and was able to answer my questions and show what he was doing and why! I really appreciate his attention and detail.
Great job! LR We have had Four Seasons for many years. We even purchased our new air conditioners, boiler and water heater from Four Seasons.
They have excellent techs, great customer service and have always given us a deal on all of our projects. We have also used them for our plumbing and electric.
Highly recommend them. Also join their monthly customer club and get even better deals all year round.
They installed out air conditioning system in Lakeview and did an excellent job! The service center people are always polite and efficient! It seems that they only hire nice people to answer their call center. Also, John the technician who came here to check if the AC is working properly was wonderful! I can not understand how any one would have a problem with this company! They are terrific in all aspects! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY...SAVE YOURSELF AND RUN AWAY.
I wish there was a way to select zero stars. I was clearly deceived by their promise of service, by their failure to honor the agreement made.
I thought they were operating in good faith. I wish I would have had the presence of mind to do my research before contacting this company.
With a simple google search today, I learned they closed 223 complaints in the last 3 yrs. Makes me wonder...how many are still open? I definitely feel scammed.
Excellent company! Great Staff, and Techs, very knowledgeable and answers all my questions, on upgrading my furnace and air-conditioning system. Very efficient and knowledgeable installation staff.
Can't say enough good things about them. [pricing very fair for quality workmanship.
I feel like this company is up charging me for fixing my collapsed pipe and sewage back up in my basement. The price keep changing im up to 23,986 in financing cost im stressed because I feel like that is entirely too much.
Just long sharks. And reading the contract for the financing just seems shady.
They take advantage of people in emergency situations. I am disappointed.
Not only did I spend more than I should have, but your technician also scratched my brand-new washing machine. I had covered both the washer and dryer, but the cover fell off and wasn't put back on It was a two-person job, with heavy equipment that needed to be moved, especially in and out of the basement.
Yet, Four Seasons only sent one person. Why? You charge a premium, but the service is still lacking.
Just to clarify, this was not an emergency. My AC/Fan was working fine.
However, there was an intermittent rattling noise caused by a faulty motor. Additionally, I'd like to mention another issue: the technician who came in the morning only checked the furnace briefly and left the unit open with electrical wires exposed.
Thankfully, we don't have young children or pets, so nothing serious happened. It seems there was a miscommunication or oversight in managing the job at my location.
Only one person was sent for what required two or more, and the worker was struggling to handle everything on his own. Even though I have osteoarthritis, I tried to help out because I felt bad for him.
This isn't the level of service I would expect from a reputable U.S.-based company like Four Seasons Heating and Cooling Here's the whole;e story: Our home furnace motor was making intermittent noises. Sometimes it was hushed, and other times it was squeaky, almost rattling, but it was still working fine.
The furnace is 9 years old, and a typical furnace lasts 15-20 years. I called 4 Seasons, and their technician arrived on Saturday, the 21st of September.
He looked at the furnace, took out the motor, and said I needed a new one. I asked how much it would cost, and he quoted around $2500.
I said, 'OK, let's do it.' At that point, he started talking about replacing the entire furnace for $5200 or more. I was reluctant to replace the whole furnace, so I asked him to schedule just the motor replacement.
That's when he pointed out a small, almost unnoticeable bend in the upper portion of the furnace. It's a Payne furnace, only 9 years old--not a cheap one.
However, the technician claimed the motor would go bad again because of that bend, which didn't make much sense to me. He also mentioned that there was no warranty on the motor replacement, whereas a new furnace would come with a 10-year warranty.
The technician who came in the morning seemed more focused on convincing us to spend more money, whereas the person who came later to install the furnace was very professional, courteous, and did an excellent job. e having my new equipment scratched during the process.
Sohail Hussain Service Address: 53 Basswood Dr Vernon Hills, IL 60061 I called requesting a plumber and spent 11 minutes on the phone with this person explaining the situation (including that I already had the hot water heater tech out, the HVAC company) and that the HVAC company told me that I would need to call a plumber. Well, Angie (who is a terrible person to be answering their phones) sent another HVAC person to our house without ever telling me that she was sending an HVAC.
I wouldn't have wasted 5 hours at my house for them to send another HVAC. Terrible customer service.
DO NOT USE. We've been told that our air conditioner was about to die for about 5 years now.
I probably would have replaced it 5 years ago, but my husband likes to get his full use until things die...and we said goodbye to our 25 year old unit last weekend. The quote we got from a new unit from the company that regularly services our unit was extremely high.
My husband tried (and failed) to negotiate, but they suggested he reach out to Four Seasons because they said they get good pricing and do good work. They came by last Thursday and gave us a quote that seemed fair for a new unit.
They said they had an opening for the very next day. After many sleepless nights thanks to the heat we gladly took the opening.
The installation crew showed up around 10/10:30am and I assumed this was a few hour ordeal. But nope...this was way more than a few hour ordeal.
I've never seen people work so hard and they worked nonstop to install this air conditioner. I kid you not, but they didn't leave until 3 am! I tried my best to stay up with them, but passed out myself around 2am, which was a little awkward as they were in and out of my room fiddling with the air conditioner controller.
They did offer to come back on Tuesday (after the holiday weekend), but we wanted air for the weekend so said happy for them to stay if they didn't mind. They told me they are used to working 16-18 hour days! I hope they get a lot of days off too! The guys did a great job of cleaning after themselves, although it's a pretty dusty job.
I did have the carpet cleaners come a few days after they left, especially since one of my kids has asthma. We are happy to have a functioning new air conditioning unit to get us thru a hot summer ahead.
Overall, we were satisfied and wouldn't hesitate to call them for any air/heat issues, but hopefully we won't have any of those for awhile! I had 2 a/c units and air handlers installed. The 4 servicemen that came all exceeded my expectations.
They were all polite and knowledgeable, and did an excellent job. They cleaned up very well.
My units work better than anything else that I ever had! Last update: I never did receive the extra cleanings in the mail (called and asked about this four separate times). I also never heard back from them regarding a refund of the installation costs.
I eventually called them approximately 10 days later and was told that management was still discussing the offer. I find this strange as they are the ones who offered the refund in the first place.
Anyway, I received a call the following day, stating that the refund that they suggested in the first place, had been denied. This call also represents the fourth time I asked about receiving the extra cleanings in writing, for which I am still waiting...
The pricing from four seasons is outrageous. I agreed to have one part replaced.
The price was $800. The part was $200 so that's $600 for labor.
Once they opened the system they said another part should be replaced. The price $1550.
There should be no extra labor because they would have had to either put the new part in or the old part in when putting it back together. I did some research and the part sells for $250-$350 online.
In the end I asked them to put my furnace back together and leave. Their labor charge for about two-three hours work amounts to $1800 or somewhere between $600-$900 per hour.
Overall a complete scam. I have used them in the past and have noticed that pricing was high but usually in emergency situations.
In this case it was not an emergency. I talked to someone else who quoted $700 for the whole job that four seasons wanted $2600 for.
Buyer beware. This company has predatory pricing.
Update: I had a new company come in to take a look that had quoted the $700 price. They said that the parts did not need to be replaced.
In addition, the unit is still under warranty so the parts would have been free if four seasons was a reputable company. Please think twice before paying a dollar to this company.
I will be reporting to the bbb. The shadiest most money hungry company on the planet.
Paid for a life time warranty on a thermostat that was over 400 dollars so we won't ever have to worry again right??? Well it's not working right called they instantly want 80 dollars for a service fee. I'm done with this company.
Wish I never used em. Don't get me started on the furnace they scared my Mother into buying threatening to turn off the gas if we don't get a furnace installed by them in October.
5 minutes in and the tech said crack heater exchange on a TRAIN that wasn't even 5 years old. When took apart saw no signs of any cracks.
Biggest scam in the buisness! Wow STAY FAR AWAY. and no I'm not deleting this review no matter what you offer me!!! I remember the tech leaving my house last year his last words out of his mouth were they just want your money! Remember that! Use doornbos they actually care about there customers Definitely read the other reviews on here before choosing this company.
Our non-emergency installation process was not transparent. Billy, the service provider from Four Seasons, did not disclose that he recommended replacing the existing 1/2hp Zoeller sump pump with a 1/3hp Little Giant 6EC model.
The downgrade in horsepower came to light only after the installation was completed, following our inquiry about the previous pump. Originally, we received a quote of $975 for the sump pump replacement, a price we considered high given that the sump pump in question retails for $191.63 at Home Depot.
Subsequently, the quote was revised to $800, translating to an installation charge of $608.37. Upon discovering the discrepancy in horsepower, we requested a like-for-like replacement with a 1/2hp pump.
However, we were presented with a quote of $1400 for a Little Giant 10EC sump pump, priced at $246.54 at Home Depot, translating to an installation charge of $1,153.26. If we had been aware that the 30-minute installation fee was going to amount to $1,153.26 for a 1/2 hp sump pump, we would have definitely looked for a more affordable installer as this was not an emergency replacement.
At the time, we thought they did a good job. Very soon after the technician came by, we realized that two items (valued at $230) were missing (we have a very clean house; we didn't misplace them).
We contacted Four Seasons to try to resolve it and they told us there was nothing they could do. We filed a police report and Four Seasons said it was out of their hands.
Unrelatedly, we later learned that the technician went into our downstairs fridge and took three freezie pops. We found red sticky stuff on the floor and wrappers under the furnace.
We spent over $11,000 there on a new furnace and an air duct cleaning. All we're asking for is $230.
Absolutely garbage! Worst service I think I've ever experienced! Hands down! I'm in the process of contacting the attorney general. They installed my unit less than a year ago and since then I've had to have them out at least once a month.
The air conditioning unit has been on and it's switched to heat to the point me and my kids got home and it was damn near 120 degrees. Every time I have someone out they point the finger at the previous tech stating they didn't know what they were doing.
I've asked for a service manager to call me multiple times and no one has ever responded!? Do not use them. They make installations mistakes and then make the customers pay to correct them.
Unacceptable. I have two recently installed A/C & Furnace units - one installed by Four Seasons and one installed by Doornbos.
The experience working with the two companies is night and day. Doornbos guys knew what they were doing and went out of their way to offer great customer service across the board.
I'm calling them now to fix the problems with the Four Seasons installation. One additional note - the tech they sent to assess the problem was great.
Really nice guy. It was the folks above him trying to avoid paying to fix the installer's mistakes.
I wasn't too happy with the service. The furnace was working fine, but the technician without provocation supposedly did a visual check of the heat exchanger.
He mentioned it was cracked and should buy a $6,000 unit from them. I already did a check up with the company earlier with no issues with carbon monoxide and a camera inspection.
The carbon monoxide detector was 15 ft away and did not go off. The next day I requested to have the technician come back and I would pay for visit but I was declined.
I don't feel the company is professional. Don't believe what they are saying.
The four seasons guy misled me and pushed to sell unnecessary & expensive orders. Then they would charge before their service is provided and tell that the order cannot be cancelled, even though they have not installed anything and even not set up the appointment yet.
This company is a scumbag. Simply stay away from it! I had a horrible experience with Four Seasons Heating and Cooling.
The day that the serviceman came out for an AC Tune Up, he locked me out of the house. I sat on my porch while he sat in his air conditioned truck, while we waited for my daughter to bring my spare key.
He told me that he did something to my AC unit. I don't know what he did, but my AC unit was working fine before he came and after he left, the cool air was barely blowing.
Never again will I get a tune up, when nothing is wrong. Avoid this company if you can.
We expressed interest on a new HVAC system through Costco and Four Seasons Heating And Cooling came to give us an estimate. A few days after the estimate our heat shut down so we went with four seasons because they had already quoted us and could install a new system quickly.
They were super responsive and quick to schedule an installation. The technicians who came to install seemed like they did not know what they were doing, improperly quoted the time it would take to finish the job, were not able to finish within or close to the quoted time and had to come back the next day.
We have two very small children, so this was a major disruption to our home when we planned our work schedules and kids days around this project. Fast forward six months and this is the first summer we are living with the newly installed air-conditioning unit.
Immediately, when turning it on in the spring, it started creating a loud noise inside the house. We called a tech (Joe) to come do a seasonal clean and check of the system, he said the system was working fine, cleaned the whole system, put it back together, and the noise went away.
A few days later, we noticed water coming from the furnace area and the noise had returned from the AC unit. Since water was leaking, even though it was a weekend, the company dispatched a tech (Fracol) immediately and resolved the leaking water issue, but he said the noise coming from the AC unit would require a dampening or sound reducing pad and a proper mount for the unit to sit on, he also stated he would relay this information to the main office but since it was a weekend, I would not hear from them for another 24 to 48 hours.
I did not hear from them so after a week I called and asked to speak to a manager, was told they would call me back within 24 to 48 hours, no one called me back. This repeated twice until customer service finally agreed to send out a "senior technician." when the senior technician (Alberto) came to our home he noted that the AC unit was improperly mounted, and was rattling on the mount, and it would need a mounting pad to address the issue.
He crafted a contraption based on wood and some metal that he had in his truck to prevent the AC unit from vibrating and shaking - that reduced the amount of noise inside the house. He also noted that he would relay the information about what size and type of pad is needed to properly mount the AC unit to the main office, and that he would tell me who I could follow up with with the main office (since in my experience, communication with the main office was extremely unreliable).
He left, I did not hear from him, I contacted him on the number he contacted me from him to let me know he was there to follow up with this question and he has not gotten back to me. I reached out to the main office and the account manager who originally facilitated our new system installation and no one has called me back.
Meanwhile, it is July in Chicago and the AC unit that sits on the roof above our son's room continues to create a loud noise while it is in use that wakes up our kids. My impression is that this company will do whatever it takes to quickly install a new unit or put a band aid on an emergent issue, but when it comes to guaranteeing their work, providing a reliable and durable service, providing reliable communication, following up on their work, or making sure things are done properly they are unreliable and do not care about the quality work or customer service.
I would give zero stars if I could. Saw a deal for A/C tune ups at Home Depot, called the number it ended up being being four seasons.
They came up to do a tune up... all they did was wet the A/C with a hose.
Yes they checked some levels, and tried the obligatory selling of a new A/C. I declined as the A/C was cooling like a freezer, just the way the family likes it.
Once they leave, I turn the A/C on to make sure it turns on and it is not cooling as cold as before. Call four seasons ask to speak with a service manager.
They said they don't have service managers, and said I must have a leak and they can send a tech out for that. What a coincidence that the minute they leave the A/C no longer cools as before.
I suspect the tech bled out the refrigerant into the air. Save yourself the time, heartache and money.
Go with a trusted company. Their reviews speak for themselves.
I thought this company was a bit of a scam. Every other company I talked to gave me a ballpark range on with installing a faucet would run.
This company told me that I would have to pay $85 for them to come out and they still would not give me any indication whatsoever of the cost of it. I think this is totally unreasonable and I could've been taken advantage of.
I requested to do an annual tune-up for my home AC unit. No previous issues with the AC unit.
After the tech told me everything is set and I paid him for the tune-up, my AC unit started short-cycling that evening and I was having to put up for hot indoor temperature for the next 4 days while multiple techs came out and tried to fix the problem they caused! Long story short, after fixing the problem they created, they did not apologize for the inconvenience. They asked for my signatures on their IPAD for taking care of the problem and then told me the bill will be over $700..
WHATT??!! The tech then tried to tell me that he told me previously it will cost that much, which is clearly dishonest. After multiple calls with their customer service , I ended up paying $100s of dollars out of pocket for this mess.
This is really bad business practice and I will be taking my business elsewhere. Beware of this company.
Can't do zero stars but that's where I'm at. The service terrible, tech did nothing to help with our problem, our dehumidifier not working properly.
He says unit not working properly doesn't say what needs to be addressed. Then wants to do an A/C tune up.
Biggest waste of $85 ever. Do not use this company for anything they are not good!!!! Commercials BS!!!!! I posted a review on 1/19/24 that turned out to be unfair.
All of the confusion arose because I was trying to step in and help and created mass miscommunication. Four Seasons has been very responsive in resolving this issue and I regret my knee jerk reaction to cast aspersions on their integrity.
Give them a try. Do not trust their true 24/7 service.
We spent over $13,000 for a brand new system and 4 months in we've had someone come out 2 times. We just called them (1:30 am) because the temperature in our house keeps dropping and their dispatchers don't start making calls until 8 am.
We went with their company because their sales person told us they are a family owned local company with the most technicians. Well they just put us on the schedule to come out between 12-14 hours from now.
We have 2 babies in the house and paid for a brand new system so we wouldn't have to worry about this and here we are. I was not impressed with Four Seasons.
They quoted us over $21,000 for a replacement AC and furnace, which was almost double compared to other HVAC vendors I interviewed. I ended up going with another company that was about $10,000 less and sold quality Lennox HVAC products with a straightforward sales process.
Four Seasons may have catchy ads and a lot of trucks driving around, but they are not worth the premium price. I would not recommend them to anyone looking for a fair deal.
I called Four Seasons on 9/20/2024 to repair the air conditioning in a rental unit which had stopped cooling the unit -- the compressor/fan was working intermittently and tenant said it was smoking a little. In the interim, I had the tenant clean the dust/debris from the fan housing with water from the hose.
The HVAC technician showed up, investigated, and called me. He told me that the capacitor was bad and needed replacement (normally $200-250), but that he would charge me $1300 to 1) replace the capacitor; 2) clean the fan housing for $135 (which the tenant already cleaned); and 3) $800+ to replace the high temperature limit switch in the furnace (!) which he couldn't seem to find (it's on the blower, idiot).
This was extortion. I refused the $1300 scam.
I fixed the AC myself the next day in an hour with a $25 capacitor. These guys are crooks -- don't use them! I wish there was an option to give "0" stars, but the tech did start with a semi-professional demeanor.
I was having issues with my air unit (blower not working) and there was ice around the coil and outdoor unit. After defrosting the unit, I contacted Four Seasons for a quote to inspect and repair.
The tech came on time (actually early), was polite, and took a look at the outdoor unit. We then went to the basement to check the unit...here is where the unprofessionalism began...Tech opens the furnace - doesn't check a thing - and says: Tech: Honestly, I would just change the entire unit Me: What brings you to that conclusion? Tech: In my experience, it is just best to change Me: Please test the power on the control board and capacitor to see if there is power getting to the blower Tech: The "company" tells us not to when we do not feel comfortable Me: Comfortable? Aren't you the f* HVAC tech? Tech: I can get you a new furnace for $7,810 Me: How do I pay you this $85 service fee so that you can get the F* out of my house As he leaves, he turns and asks if I am sure that I do not want to look into financing a new furnace.
Fast forward to the next day, I had my father-in-law come over (he is a retired engineer) and has done this work for 50 years - I just did not want to bother him. We grab a new control board and swap it out, replace the capacitor, and $204 later - all is well! Could have saved the $200 for the control board, but we just changes it out since we had to pull out the blower anyways.
I believe that the company has a commission-based program and it incentivizes techs to try and upsell any/everything they can. I would advise against anyone using Four Seasons and check the local mom/pop HVAC store in your area.
I am a relatively new Four Seasons client about one year old. Today, I had my AC unit tune up (yearly).
The unit is 33 years old. (original) I'd like to finish out the season with it.
The tech showed me where the unit is failing: leaking oil, fan failing, etc. And gave me options.
I have a family of 5. Clean air is important.
Not to mention it needs to be Cool Air. I was able to purchase a part, installed same day, this should give me until the end of the season.
I appreciate the honestly and help of the tech Brian. He was on time, helpful, and kind.
All the reviews on Google ARE FAKE and paid for, thank god for yelp! We had a tweaker come and give us horrible service. He even forgot to do the most basic of tasks and had to come and redo it.
I felt very unsafe with him in my home. If you do hire this company, watch your belongings and prepare to spend 2k more than the competition.
Horrendous This is my second time writing a review for four seasons. A few months ago they replaced the cooling coil on my a/c unit stating that it has been leaking.
When I restarted my a/c recently it was not cooling at all. A serviceman came a few weeks ago and told me there was no refrigerant in my system and filled it up.
It stopped working a couple of days later. I asked for a second appointment, waiting for half a day and no one showed up.
I had to organized a 3rd appointment a few days later. The serviceman came and found out that again there is no refrigerant.
Apparently the new coil that was replaced was leaking very badly. I had a 4th appointment over last weekend.
The technician came and replaced the coil a second time. The A/C once again stopped working 1 day Two days later during a 5th appointment the technician came and filled up the refrigerant again (with dye this time) left in a hurry and said someone would come back in 30 days to evaluate the leak.
I then called their service line explaining the leak is fast. They the told me to stop running the A/C because this could be a safety issue and organized a 6th appointment.
I am still waiting for them to return in 2 weeks time. The worst! They try to upsell you instead of telling you exactly what you need! I paid for a 30 pt inspection and cleaning for $90 - then was quoted another $250 to clean the inside of the furnace! I was told then an account manager would contact me who was rude and hung up on me twice! Horrible customer service - and will rip you off or upsell a service they should have originally done OR at least told me needed to have! After the fact, other companies gave me much lower quotes for the same service.
bought a humidifier for my home from Four Seasons as my old unit went out. I called Four Season who I had used for my two AC units to install.
When they installed the humidifier I noticed it would be complicated to install the filters. I immediately told the tech.
I don't want that one because I'm use to easy filters. He told me just call.
They will walk you through it when you call the service line Well that was a lie. I called and was told to look on YouTube.
Not even offering where on YouTube. However they pushed for me to pay 85.00 to send a Tech.
This was a clear ploy to trick single women on buying something and make it complicated so that you have to pay 85 each time filter needs to be changed. Four Season you should be ashamed Horrible.
Always trying to upsell. They'll (maybe) get your AC working, but will tell you you the problem is with the furnace, and not the AC.
Or vice versa. They will tell you that they can't guarantee that the problem is "fixed"...
better to buy a $12k unit just to make sure. Women (especially) beware.
Terrible company asked them to look at my furnace belt because of squealing noise and they sabotaged something else so it wouldn't fire up again and said the belt was obsolete and couldn't be obtained. So I told them to turn my furnace back on I'd go elsewhere and they said my furnace wasn't running when they got there, but my gas bill proves otherwise.
Definitely would not trust these guys I was forced to buy a whole new furnace when all I needed was a belt. Drawn in by a discount coupon $89 for maintenance service which I asked for them to come a week ago, being a long time customer.
Dang it, my AC busts, but they show up the next day. We discussed prices for new equipment to replace my very old unit.
Normally, everyone provides a free quote. These guys charged me $180 for the visit.
Fabulous*CK that. I recently had a new furnace and AC unit installed by Four Seasons, and it was not a good experience.
The work took nearly 13 hours to complete, despite the fact that I have a one-stage standard unit, which should have taken half that time. In addition, the techs left my home at 1 am without completing the humidifier installation, so I had to call to have another tech finish the work.
By the way, their initial work to install the new humidifier needed to be corrected and redone. The techs also didn't turn my water heater back on after turning off the gas, so I had a nice cold shower the following morning.
This is a perfect example of a company growing too fast and becoming greedy instead of taking the time to properly train their staff and perform the work to the standard they so proudly taught on TV. A word of advice - avoid this company at all costs and go with someone local.
Let's see if I get the same canned response as everyone else who reports an issue. After speaking with Olivia, definitely in the top 5 WORST CSMs I've ever had the displeasure of speaking with, her supervisor called me SEVERAL days later.
I will say Angel is extremely pleasant; however, it's unfortunate he works for Four Seasons because he's good at what he does and would be an asset at a better company. After having the third party out and learning that: the coil in the compressor was completely MELTED, the blower was set for the WRONG SIZE unit, and the techs manually and intentionally set my furnace to electric when my unit is OBVIOUSLY gas, I told Angel that I've been speaking with an attorney and I still want a reasonable reimbursement.
I explained to Angel that if Four Seasons would simply provide a breakdown between labor and materials, I'd be able to understand what to ask for but since the company says they CAN'T break that out (which is absolutely ridiculous), I've come up with my own dollar amount through research. Angel did go back to "management" who came up a bit, but not enough.
I've not officially declined the offer but it is not enough. They are not even offering half what I paid, nor have they considered what I had to pay the third party who discovered further problems that already impacted the lifecycle of my system (setting the blower for a larger unit put too much stress on the motor so I will not get a full lifetime from it).
How DARE this company treat their customers this way? Please, consumers, RUN AWAY from Four Seasons. They will do shoddy work and, God forbid they put you in actual danger as they did me with the wrong circuit breaker amperage.
They forged my signature and initials and still have the audacity to accuse me of defamation and libel. I promise you - this is no libel.
I have the proof in photos and signature comparisons and will be taking this to court. I have also filed a grievance with the Federal Trade Commission.
I beg of anyone reading this review - go somewhere, anywhere else! UPDATE TO THE "OWNER" RESPONSE (October 2023): You state in your response that you fixed the situation(s) - please don't insult me! You fixed NOTHING. 10 months after your first faulty installation the system DID NOT WORK! The absolute least you can do is not lie on a public review site.
What a FIASCO! Scheduled my annual A/C PM (have been a customer since 2011) for Friday, 5/17 - window 12 to 4 - NO SHOW by 4 - called Customer Service - they apologized - said tech would be on site by 5. Customer Service called back @ 5 - said no one would be out - can I reschedule??? What a joke! Rescheduled for Friday, 5/24 - window 8 - 12 - tech arrived @ 11 with 40' ladder - said 40' ladder wasn't tall enough (it has worked before?) - I told him to put it on my upper porch where it would fit - he said he sent the truck & tech with the ladder back??? Rescheduled for Tuesday, 5/28 - window 8 - 12 - called Customer Service @ 11 to check on tech - Customer Service said they were waiting for a truck with the correct sized ladder.
This is the FOURTH time that Four Seasons as either NO SHOWED or did not honor the stated "window"! Each time I have had to take off work. Four Seasons needs to revamp their Dispatch System - because it's not working.
They are crooks. The technicians are not knowledgable and are trained to upsell the hell out of you.
Absolutely livid. Sunday afternoon we called a tech to come by and check out our furnace as it's making a loud vibrating noise.
The technician said a new blower motor and wheel would solve it. He made arrangements for a different technician to come by Monday to install the parts in order to fix the problem.
They charged us over $2000 via the company's financing. Come Monday, the technician arrives (after being over two hours late) and begins to install the new blower motor and wheel.
He doesn't listen for the noise, he just gets right to the work. Once the finished, he leaves our place after installing it.
As soon as he leaves the loud noise continues to happen. So basically, they charged us over $2000 for something we didn't even need.
Our situations is not fixed at all. I feel like the company sold us on services and the that we did not need.
2k is a lot of money to charge someone for something that is not necessary, especially when a Lennox blower motor only is about 500 to buy new. Stay away from this company.
They will try to sell you on parts you don't need. Day 15 of a generator install buyer beware.
Generator still not working has to be removed and re- leveled initial installers wired wrong and did not have main feeds properly in. Can only talk to customer service the senior staff who are supposed to call you back do not.
Have spent numerous hours on the phone with customer service and it goes nowhere. Multiple late appointments and have had electricians, service technicians and 3 days of installers and generator still not working.
Best part is they want money in full on day one and refused to give back any of it until job is done. Asked to talk to owner and he is out of the country.
Service reps out today said they are embarrassed and truly sorry but could Do nothing. May want to look elsewhere for generators as my house was seemingly used as a training facility.
I recently posted an unfavorable review. Since then, the Four Seasons customer service department has reached out to me on several occasions and rectified the situation.
Please do not do business with Four Seasons Heating and Air Conditioning. I called this morning at 6:03am because my furnance wasn't working, mind you Four Seasons Heating and air installed the unit 12/2019.
The representative told me there was an $85 service fee, which was fine and someone would be out between 8am-12pm. The rep arrived before 8:30am, when he came to the door he had his face covered, didn't provide his name.
He came in and asked where the thermostat was. I directed him.
He pressed the button to increase the temperature. After about 10seconds he asked where was the furnance.
I lead him to the furnance and he said he would look at it. After what seemed like forever he said he would need to run some test.
He then leaves and comes back, didn't say a word. He proceeded to change the control board.
Mind you I'm under the assumption that he is just running test. He then tells me, I'm done and the price is over $2300.
I tell him specifically that I never authorized any repairs, I was never given a price, I was never given a contract. He then says its not covered under my warranty because I didn't get a maintenance check last year.
I immediately immediately call customer service to voice my frustration. The rep hangs up on me and calls the tech while I'm standing next to him.
At this point I'm on the line with another rep, and she too hangs up on me. I then instructed the technician to leave my house.
He then says I will need to take the part back out. At no point did I ever agree him to remove what was already there and replace it.
He then says he was trying to be nice. I then called customer service after I received a nasty, unprofessional email.
again the first rep said she didn't know about the email. The second rep said she couldn't read the email.
She then said no Supervisor was available and someone would reach out in 24-48hrs. I told her that is unacceptable because I feel like I have be violated in my own home.
My trust, my respect, my dignity have been violated. I told her no one from this company is ever allowed in my house again.
A supervisor magically called shortly thereafter by the name of Angel, Angel was rude and condescending. He did provide the name of the technician Ygnazio Hernandez.
Angel U stated that that's how it's going to be. I will be contacting my attorney and I will be filing a complaint with BBB.
I will be filing a complaint with the state of Illinois. All appropriate agencies will be alerted.
No one should ever have to feel the way I feel. This was completely unethical, immortal, highly unprofessional.
Now I received a forged invoice via email. A police report will be filed against the technician and company.
I will file a complaint with the Attorney General. I will be contacting the FTC as well.
Updating my review after talking with their customer service team - they cleared up miscommunications and reexamined the invoice accordingly. They clarified that they like to wait three months for the dye to circulate but that any visits are included in the package as well as fixing the cause of the leak.
Kudos to their customer service team for working with me on the issue! Literally the worst experience you could have!!! COMPLETE FRAUD!!!!! First the back story, my wife and I run a non-profit for adults with special needs and this is a house that is being built for them to occupy 1) the tech comes out and give some insane quote of $2700 to fix a few things, A) a small leak in the basement that he quoted me AROUND $900 to fix, turned out to the a shut off valve in the ceiling that was not completely closed, I removed the ceiling tile and closed and done. B) after the tech gives my wife the quote for $2700 she says ok, let me call my husband, he replies "what you cannot make a decision on your own" just bad business and was the first reason I asked him to leave and called the company C) tech was sent out to clean the AC unit on special for $89, I was told this was a scam by everyone and they only do this to upsell other things, I booked anyways and what happened is the reason for this post, tech said the unit had a bad contactor and mice had been inside the unit which is why it would not turn on, as protocol tech is supposed to take pictures of this to show the company as a way of documenting this, tech did not do this.
At this point with insulting my wife and the outrageous estimate I asked him to leave. I called a few friends and got a referral for another AC guy and he was shocked to find out what was wrong, the unit was perfect and the issue was the low voltage wire (the one that turns the unit on) WAS CUT, perfectly cut and hanging no other issues as when he touched the wire to the spot it belonged the unit turned on instantly, 3 minute to reattach the wire and its working perfectly.
I place another call to four seasons and get a manager who begins to tell me how I must be making this up and how it could not happen, the offer no repercussions for the tech and I am left paying $150 for another company to fix his SCAM. I never write stuff like this but just go somewhere else!!!!!!!!! Writing this as we have a job in progress.
We had an AC replacement scheduled & after an initial inspection by Four Seasons they informed us it should be a quick and easy job. It has been anything but that.
The technician who installed our AC called us at the end of the day letting us know that - somehow - the AC replacement caused our (less than 2 yr old) furnace to stop working. He promised that this was his responsibility and that repairing the issue would be covered by Four Seasons.
The next day, a new technician was sent out and let us know that the transformer in our furnace had blown and that we would need to pay an ADDITIONAL $2,500 to cover the repair cost for our furnace. He told us to call customer service, which we did.
The agent told us that there was nothing they could do until receiving the report from both technicians, after which they would need 3 business days to review and process. It is now three days later, and the technicians haven't submitted their reports yet, which means that customer service has nothing to review and that we are on the hook for the repair cost.
We have tenants in the apartment and have been having unseasonably hot weather, with temperatures reaching 100 last week. As of now, both our AC unit and furnace are broken.
As I mentioned, the work is still in progress and the situation has not been resolved. So far, our experience has been extremely disappointing.
I'm hoping to post a more positive review once the issue has been resolved but as of now I absolutely cannot recommend this company and strongly encourage looking elsewhere. Had some issues with the heat this winter.
Called and explained the issue. Though the hvac was new and still under warranty, and Four Seasons was a certified company for the new hvac system, they said I would have to pay upfront and then get reimbursed from the company I bought the hvac system from.
I later found out from Four Seasons management that that was not correct. Mistake #1.
After looking at it the tech determined I needed a new limit switch. Limit switches rarely fail especially on a new furnace so I was skeptical.
I was given a quote of over $800 by the tech. After questioning the amount the price came down to the $500's and then again to the mid $300's.
Mistake #2 (multiple price quotes). Not feeling confident I called another company while Four Seasons was still at the house.
I said I would think about it. Meanwhile I called a union hvac relative of mine and he confirmed my suspicions that the diagnostic was probably wrong.
The next company came out and said there was nothing wrong with the limit switch and that there was not enough air flow due to recent placement of furniture in front of the returns. Moved the furniture a little and problem fixed.
Mistake #3 (misdiagnosis). An hour later I received a phone call from a Tom in management, he was very nice and apologized for the misdiagnosis, the misquotes, and the misinformation on the warranty.
He did tell me that the cost should've been about $130 and the part was covered under warranty through Four Seasons. I found the conversation with Tom to be professional and the only good part of the experience.
Since then I've been hounded by Four Seasons to pay the service fee for sending a tech out to my house. I was misquoted on price 3 times, misquoted on warranty information, and given incorrect diagnosis but they want money for that service? Mistake #4.
P.S. Had it not been for the constant badgering I would have let things be and not written a review.
I just wouldn't have used the company again, but... They are cheaper than our company, but we had so many bad experience with them.
they have to come at our house 3 times to fixed their newly installed Furnace and 2 times for their newly instaled Aircon. Why do they hired people that nave no experience at all? And after a few months The worst part is we made a mistake for hiring them to clean our ducts and one of their employee kept falling on our floor because he was so high on drugs.
Do they do background check on their employees? They did a very bad job cleaning our ducts. I don't recommend this company.
BEWARE! I posted a review last week and the company responded with an outright lie. This company spent seven days straight in my home for hours every day.
it wasn't until the ninth technician arrived on the eighth day he was able to tell that the installer installed the pump upside down on my brand new boiler . I spent five days with no heat at all and three days with constant banging so loud it shook my house.
my mother was displaced for all eight days they used my shower to dump disgusting water, burnt my rug and burnt my new wood floor. I filed a complaint on January 19 have yet to hear from anybody from this company.
Every time I call there's no resolution no Supervisor has called me. They charge me an additional $4000 and said that they were within their rights to do so never once taking any responsibility for their negligence.
I have also filed with the Better Business Bureau and consumer protection. I am meeting with a lawyer to discuss a class action complaint it is absolutely disgusting that this giant company is taking advantage of people and advertising that they are 24 hour service because they are not.
Have been using Four seasons for several years and recommended them to friends. Never again.
The tech came out, never opened the unit or fully cleaned under the unit, and first said that I needed a new motor, then a new conductor, then a new air conditioner. Then he called his boss and tried to get me to sign up for a new air conditioner right then with heavy pressure and if I didn't, they would not give me any discount.
No written contract and I could not have 24 hours to think about it. The tests that he supposedly did were on his phone, but no written work and he would not share the results.
He also went down to my furnace and said that I needed new furnace. I told him that their tech had told me in November that it was in perfect condition.
Well, he said you need both. I felt like I was talking to a used car salesman.
Do not use these people. Terrible!!! If I could leave a ZERO STAR , I would have.
Nothing but issues with this company. Never would call for appointments but would just show up.
The time they called , they said they were on the way with a A/C unit but we were having a generator installed. First time they came out they came without pulling the permit that we said they needed, so the city had to stop them.
They finally got the permit and put the generator in. They put it in where we talked out them putting it in but the permit stated something totally different .
Still trying to get an answer as to why the permit had a different location than we wanted . The city did not approve the installation and we are in a waiting game now .
I would tell my family and friends to stay away. we got "FINICHED".
that's the sales men. he drew the proposal wrong for the city and we failed inspection.
10,000 dollars for something i can't use. NOW WHAT! DO NOT DO BUSINESS with this company.
their office can't even get what is being g installed correct. they called me saying HVAC when it was not even close to that.
STAY FAR away. from four seasons when you read this and try to get me to take this down again.
I've been waiting now at least two months or more for a manager to call me. HaHa lies Looking for maybe class action against for seasons and Finch he was very talkative on what he owns boats, summer home season tickets cubs etc.
My technician was not interested in fixing my furnace. He was only there to convince to buy a new furnace or expensive parts.
He didn't even offer fixing option. I got a second opinion from independent contractor and he fixed my furnace for 225 dollars.
4 seasons is a scam. DANGER! Called for a very small plumbing fix that ended up costing me radiant heat system.
t's highway robbery and disgusting how people are willing to treat each other. During the vortex this January my lead service line broke just at the floor, before the interior shut off valve, -water pouring into my basement at high pressure.
Maurice Chambers came out and essentially smashed the pipe to stop the water. The pipe was closed for maybe a few hours before it began leaking again.
This cost approximately $1,300. The pipe in question ran to my boiler system.
During the plumbing fix he turned off both my boiler and my hot water heater. When he finished working he would not turn the boiler back on, and neither could I.
Four Seasons said they would sent a boiler tech to turn the boiler back on, but couldn't do anything until the following day. The 'boiler expert' showed up and insisted my water pump was broken, my automatic damper valve wasn't working, and also noticed the blown fuses.
They said they wouldn't work on an older boiler (1993) and sent me a quote for a new one at $12,000. I declined and found a new contractor who showed me the $14 blown fuse that was causing the issue.
While the boiler was off the radiator pipes froze in my basement. When we turned the boiler back on and the system came to pressure the radiator pipes EXPLODED in 3 locations.
All of the radiator system from the house flooded the basement. Meanwhile, the original pipe continued to leak.
Almost a full week later they sent out a second plumber who was courteous and fast. He capped the line properly, but it still leaks, and likely will continue to leak until I have the full lead service line repaired.
We were without heat for the entirety of the polar vortex. In total their negligence will cost me almost $5,000 not to mention the electrical cost of heating my home on space heaters during the coldest weeks of the winter.
Willie and Bryce did such a great job.Very nice young man.Excellent job ,smiling easy to talk to. I do appreciate what they done. They did finish the job today instead coming back tomorrow that how troopers they are they didn't play around and happy with their accomplish. They are keepers I'm so glad for their job they I did appreciate them so much Let me tell you my saga with Four Seasons HVAC.
I purchased my building in Logan Square in 1998 or 99. Acouple of years later I had the furnace and boiler replaced by a company called Corner HVAC.
I don't remember how or why they got the job, maybe thats where the old furnace came from or someone recomended them to me. Everything worked out fine.
A few years later i was having a new roof put on and wanted to add an A/C on the roof to cool the second floor. They came out gave me an estimate and did the job.
There were a few problems but all worked out in the end. The they went belly up ! At that point I started to use Four Seasons for my Spring A/C tune up and my fall furnace tune up.
During last years tune up i was told I needed a new A/C unit because the compressor was leaking and the unit was old and parts were no longer made for my unit. I decided to bite the bullit and order a new A/C unit.
I called Four Seasons on June 13 and the sent out a sales guy named Doug. He came on Saturday, the 15th of June, late morning as promised.
I also called ABC to get a second estimate. They sent out a tech/service guy and I told him I needed a sales gut to give me an estimate and he said he'd call the office to have them send one out that afternoon.
Doug took photos and all the data he needed and said he would tunr his info over to the estimating dept on Monday AM and i would heard from him when he got the estimate. By Wednesday I had not heard back from him so I called him and he said he was still waiting.
thursday, Friday, Saturdat, Sunday passed so on Monday I gave him another call. I got a text from him that he would call me back.
He never did ! No word from him on Tuesday so i called him on Wednesday and he told me he was still waiting for the estimate. No word from him thru the weekend so I called him Monday, got a text saying he'd call me.
He didn't ! Wednesday I called him and I got a text back that he was at a training seminar. No word from him Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday and I think he was blocking my calls by then.
I did hear from him on the 3rd of July and he said he was going to try and go above the estimating department and talk to their supervisors and try to find out why no action had been taken yet. I called him on Friday and told him I expected to have the estimate, and a contract that afternoon so the could start work on Monday July 8th ! No word from him.
All this while my appartment temp was in the 87F-89F range. Nothing has happened since then and as I write this, its been five weeks, and two days, since Doug first came out to look at my job.
Needless to sy i'm not very impressed with Four Seasons at this point. BTW, ABC never got back to me after their tech guy came out, so tehy are no better ! Eric Johnson I took a bit of time before writing this review because I wanted to see how the new systems handled and how well Four Seasons customer support was.
I had Four Seasons install 2 new furnaces and an AC unit (the other
