Review and analyze now for company S and J Plumbing & Sewer and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''S&J is awesome: When they came fix my clogged bathtub drain, they quickly saw that all that was necessary was to rotate the drain handle slightly. They could easily have done an expensive repair but instead they told me the truth and didn't charge anything extra.
That's why I just called them to handle another problem that popped up with my sprinkler system today. BTW, their phone service people couldn't be nicer.
This is a VERY well-run, customer-oriented company that I highly recommend. S and J just came to my house and they were incredibly nice and professional! I didn't end up using just based on price.
They don't give quotes over the phone so they need to come to your house for a service charge which I understand- but I really wish they would have been able to give me a range without having to waste their and our time! We just needed a toilet replaced and the least expensive option was $1,500 - which I find to be outrageously expensive for replacing a toilet. To the owners - please start considering giving ranges over the phone! I got a toilet replaced by a plumber 4 years ago and I don't remember his name but I know I didn't pay for than $400-$500! S & J plumbing was available same day for an emergency leak at my home.
I give them an A for response. S & J seems expensive, no matter what you need done, minimum you will be quoted $1000.
When it's an emergency, as my situation was, and can't get anyone else, you have little choice. S & J plumber Ryan F.
Was knowledgeable and courteous, and fixed the problem. Grade: A.
Big A+: my damage was covered under my homeowners insurance. Ryan called a restoration company who came out same day to assess damage, and began working directly with my insurance company.
From there out I barely had to lift a finger. S& J plumbing will go through other rooms and look for opportunities to quote repairs.
I found this to be a turn -off. They quoted replacing the water shut off valve to my home: $1000.
They quoted adding an anode kit to my water heater: $1000. Top-notch guys.
They were very professional and made a bad situation into a much better one. We took the day off to receive their plumbing services and they did not come as promised.
Very disappointed!!! We finally decided to address a longstanding issue (water knocking while using large appliances e.g. washer).
Really liked the 2 guys who came out from S&J - they were personable and seemed thorough. Of course they went straight to the upsell - "why not replace the water heater while you're at it", etc.
- but also provided a couple less expensive options, at our request. When we submitted some questions on their estimates to S&J, we never heard back from them.
Meanwhile we found another plumber who fixed the knocking issue for a fraction of the cost. Way too expensive.
$389 for 30 min to replace a fill valve in a toilet. (I supplied the part.
Would have cost $477 if I used their part). Quotes for various jobs were $$$.
Quick to respond and show up. Courteous and amiable and knowledgeable but no need to tell me tightening a screw is a courtesy....
It's appreciated but your prices tell me I'm paying for it. Failed to replace the flapper as he said he would.
Would have rather paid a plumber their hourly rate. Lesson learned.
I've been meaning to yelp about S&J for months/years now. Most recently (march 2024) i had a horrific sewer backup in my laundry room due to clogged pipes under my foundation and out to the street.
While it was an expensive endeavor to fix the problem, S&J did a wonderful job. I can't say enough about their employee/plumber Ryan who was lead on my 'project.' Knowledgeable, professional and honest and a joy to talk to.
I've used S&J several times over the years for my house and feel like I'm in good hands. DO NOT use these larger plumbing service providers.
Ask around and find yourself a self independent plumber in your local area; they will be able to complete all the same jobs these companies offer and typically do a better job since it's only their name attached to the work. This company did show some attentiveness to show up at my house within two hours of calling to diagnose my issue with my water heater.
However, despite quick response, the second the plumbers walked into my home, they immediately started to telling me all the things "wrong" with the plumbing in my house and trying to sell me on a bunch of unnecessary upgrades. After determining my water heater would need completely replaced as it was not fixable, their cheapest option quote was 4x the amount that I ended up paying.
Mind you the most expensive quote they gave me was 10x the amount I paid. Fortunately I've had some prior experience with a similar situation that told me that this quote was way off in the moment.
They blatantly lied and insisted that this was the price any plumber would charge for the replacement. I paid them their service fee for the diagnosis and sent them on their way.
Called 4 plumbers after they left, all of which were at least 60% cheaper for the exact same service. Companies like this thrive off of inexperienced homeowners that don't know any better.
Don't patronize this type of business. Unfortunately I cannot use them as they will never provide a quote over the phone and require an in home estimate that costs $49.
The $49 is waived if you go with them but at that point you are throwing money away. Please be aware of this when calling S&J.
I also find this unacceptable as they are participating in Yelp quote program but they will never give you the quote without the visit. Dylan was very knowledgeable and helped resolve my issue with my RO system.
I really appreciated the communication from S&J. They got someone to come over same day, answered the phone, and were all around really good to work with.
Totally worth it! One of our pipes burst on New Year's Eve, and I found S&J, the highest rated Yelp plumbers in my area. I shut off the water, so nothing was leaking, and we set up an appointment for New Year's Day.
Tom came out and assessed the damage. We had a burst pipe and a cracked meter.
S&J called the city for me and they came out and replaced the meter. S&J came back out on New Year's Day and fixed my burst pipe and installed a new spout.
Great communication along the way. We were in good hands.
These guys are reliable and responsive. I would highly recommend S&P.
They did charge us a $250 fee for coming out on a holiday, but in the end it cost us about half of what another well known plumber estimated : ) We had a plumbing issue and S & J sent someone within 2 hours. Dino and Cory were very professional and kind.
Gave us all the information to make an informed decision and took care of business quickly. Would definitely recommend! I engaged S and J to hydro jet my sewer line and replace a toilet.
Dino and Nick introduced themselves, spent time explaining my plumbing system to me, and provided estimates for multiple options to address each project. Once I selected options, they completed both jobs with tools and parts they brought on-site.
They even offered options for toilet styles and had the selections readily available. All work was completed in one visit.
I will definitely use them in the future, and I highly recommend them for any plumbing project. We needed an emergency plumber and looked for someplace local with good reviews.
Kyle Miller was great, and really thorough. We explained everything well and cleanup better than when he came.
We would use them again in a heart beat. They sent extra time to check everything and make sure we understood everything.
Johnny and Luke were great! Very professional, clean, and friendly. I appreciated that they took the time to properly diagnose my issue and completed the work quickly.
I'll definitely continue to use this company. Ryan with S and J helped me out in my holiday pinch.
Honest, fast response and reliable. Highly recommend S and J Plumbing for any plumbing problems.
No! Stay away from this company! They charged me 900 dollars to router Rotter the sink and then couldn't do it. They claimed they had to cut a huge hole in the wall and charge me another 2000 to fix it.
I called another company called little Tommy plumbing and they came and Rotter routered all the way from the sink to the front of the yard without rippping apart the house and only charged me 300 bucks. Stay away from S and J! They send you plumbers who have no idea what they are doing and over charge you.
Stay away from this company they rob you Way too expensive! Spent 3 minutes in my house, charged me $49 for the quote , which yes, would have been waved had I gone with them, and quoted me $579 to unclog my kitchen sink drain. Had another place do it for $279.
Skip this place and call someone else. Called at 8 AM on a Monday morning with a clogged tub full of dirty water.
Company says they can be there same day between 2-4 PM. I stay home from work and wait.
At 3:30 they call to say they not only won't make it in the time frame that THEY gave but won't make it that day, at all! They then tell me they can't get here for another 48 hours. When I explain that my tub is full of dirty water and is severly clogged all I get in return is we're sorry, there's nothing they can do.
Unreliable! Unprofessional! And this is why nobody wants to use local vendors anymore. Don't waste your time!! S&J is very quick to respond, setting me up for an appointment right away even though my issues were not emergencies.
Ryan and Nick were very professional and updated me on options and what they were seeing and doing as I had a number of minor issues. I'm always a little nervous to make a recommendation on something I know practically nothing about, but the best indication of how I respected their service was that after using them once for a water heater, they were my first choice when I needed plumbing service again.
S&J were very quick to respond to our plumbing needs. Techs Jonny and Robby are very accommodating, friendly and passionate about the business.
They've done high quality work in my home and talked us through the job they performed. I highly recommend S&J for all plumbing needs, the value of their quality cannot be matched.
They did their job and the price was fair. They were a tad bit aggressive and trying to find other things to repair.
But it wasn't egregious and they were nice enough about it, but it came off as kind of salesy. But they did good work and like I said, the price was fair.
I called S and J for plumbing work work at Barrington home . The guys showed up on time , tried upsell and quoted me random price .
Since I was in hurry and tenant was moving in from hospital I dint have much time to find another one . They removed the toilet , did some roding and for two hour work they charged around $1700 ! On top of that technician told me that he doesn't have right tools to replace the removed toilet !! They left place with the toilet in removed condition asked to schedule another visit to fix it for extra money.
Later , I realized that people who came to fix the plumbing weren't plumbers !! They were drain techs and they didn't have know how to fix a toilet :( Greedy company with no morals . If you happen to call them , tell them in clear terms that you need a plumber not another tech ...
They came out same day (Saturday) and had great communication before arrival. The work was done quickly and correctly.
Jonny and Luke from S&J came out today when called this AM to replace sump pump. Did a great job! Knock it out fast and cleanly.
Answered all questions, explained steps clearly. Will call them again.
Luke and Tom are good honest people that care about their customers Great job great job Jonny and Luke came out and fixed it plumbing issue we had with winterizing our pipes. They solved the problem quickly and provided great service.
While they were easy to reach and schedule, and arrived on time, the quote we received was far more expensive than other options in the area. They wanted over $1000 for a simple under sink garbage disposal replacement.
We had chosen them due to availability on a Saturday (non emergency, scheduled a week before), but we ended up paying the $49 service fee and not moving forward. They were very polite and professional, but very overpriced.
We ended up waiting for a weekday and going with our usual plumber. I can't say enough good things about S and J Plumbing.
We have used them in the past and I call them back each time because the customer service and quality of work is unparalleled. I had some scheduling issues and needed to reschedule my initial service date, and J was so kind and accommodating on the phone, it's obvious he genuinely cares about his customers.
Dylan and Colin were my most recent technicians and they were professional, efficient, and friendly. They explained the problems, my options to solve them, and what they were doing so I was informed every step of the way.
They made informed suggestions, and worked within my budget. They completed the job with great attention to detail and cleaned up the work areas completely.
They were also just nice to talk to, which is always a plus! I wish every company was as great as S and J, with an amazing staff you know you can trust. We are customers for life! Quick, reliable service.
Avery and Juan were very friendly and did a thorough job routing out my kitchen pipe. They let us know the alternatives and were careful around our house and animals.
Plan on using them again. Requested video inspection to sewer.
They wanted to charge me over $400 to remove toilet way overpriced They had a very quick response, and the tech was polite and knowledgeable. Very reliable service.
Called S&J to repair a leaky solder. The plumbers showed up, suggested my previous plumber was an amateur, said my plumbing was retail grade which I know is not true, and then quoted me a totally unnecessary amount of work to repair a leaky solder.
I didn't agree to the unnecessary amount of work so they left with my $50 for just showing up. It did not feel good as a consumer.
Jonny and Robby were great! They arrived on time and were super polite. Explained in detail what needed to be done.
They were efficient and kind. A great experience all around.
Highly recommend! Prices quoted were beyond insane! I was quoted $1,650 to "hydro jet" the sewer line from the cleanout to the house. $1,650! I foolishly agreed to pay $49 for them to come out to inspect the problem.
This involved opening up the cleanout drain cap to see that the line was dry and that it had a problem in the main--something I already knew. "We're not the cheapest company out there but we're not the most expensive." Seriously? You think $1,650 to hyrdro jet a line is not the most expensive?! I've had my line hydro jetted before.
It was $350. Sure it was 4 years ago, but prices haven't gone up that much.
I'm sorry, but I don't care if the machine cost $45,000, $1,650 for an hour of work is highway robbery, in my opinion. Even Angie's List is quoted as saying in 2023, "Hydro jetting costs are $475 for a typical homeowner.
You might pay as little as $350 or as much as $600". Listen, people, if you have the money, you can do what you want, but I'm sure you can find better ways to use $1,650.
On a positive note, Kyle, the technician sent out was very professional and seemed to be an all-around nice guy. I don't blame him for the prices he quoted.
I'm sure he's just doing his job. Under different circumstances, I might have hired him.
Certainly not at those prices, though! Never in life! Ryan and Luke were fantastic. Super professional and went right to work.
They understand the value of getting the work done on time and in budget. Highly recommend S and J Plumbing and Sewer.
Jonny and Luke came out to fix a septic ejector pump emergency. Amazing humans with next level customer service who provided the most transparent pricing parlayed with decades of experience that made our emergency easy to deal with as well as remedied quickly.
Would highly recommend these guys for anything plumbing related. I needed my 20 year old hot heater water replaced and found S&J.
Although they may be a little pricey, I always believe that you get what you pay for. Ryan and Dylan were sent to do the work.
From the moment they arrived, both plumbers were very professional and friendly. Ryan gave me an estimate and was up front; he made recommendations but wasn't try to sell me services I didn't need.
The installation took a few hours and Ryan and Dylan did a great job and cleaned up the whole work area. Kudos to these guys for a job well done.
This will be my go to plumbers from now on. I called S&J because we had low water pressure in one of our upstairs tub areas.
I was told they would come out to give me an estimate for $49 and that they had most every part on their truck. Two young men arrived the following day and they were overly "friendly." They asked if they could not only look at the work we needed but to look around the house to see if there was anything else they could "help" us with.
I agreed, but thought it strange. They checked out the tub and said we needed a new cartridge, which we already knew.
They didn't have the Price Pfister part on the truck and said they would do the shopping for me, remove the old cartridge and replace it with a new one. They went to their truck and spent a while writing up the estimate.
When they showed it to me, I almost fell off the couch. They wanted just under $1,000 for the job and suggested that if I wanted my water heater filter cleaned that would be an additional $335.
Just for the heck of it - my daughter asked how much a cartridge would cost and they said between $20-$40. We asked how long the job would take and they said about an hour to an hour and a half.
I immediately took out my checkbook to write a check for the $49 service call. They tried to tell me they could probably lower the price a little.
I told them they should have given me an honest price in the first place and that I don't play those games. I basically kicked them out of my home, I was so angry that they would try to scam me like that.
I would never recommend this company!!! My water heater went out and needed to be inspected. This was the first company to call me back.
They came out quickly and said I needed a new one. The price they quoted me was roughly double what I had anticipated so I declined and they were happy to take my $50 for 10 minutes of their time.
Other plumbers called throughout the rest of the day and not one came close to the inflated prices these people had. I got the job done with the same exact water heater they offered for half the price by a company with the same letters, but reversed.
The only company I ever dealt with that was this criminal was ABC. Great work done by Tim and his team.
Had multiple issues that they performed with care, a great attitude, and expert precision. Thank you to the team at S&J Plumbing for putting in my hot water heater, fixing my sewer line, and installing a new water line for my refigerator.
I have used s&j plumbing 3 times now and all 3 times they have been on time, professional, and have done a fantastic job. They are always upfront with any fees and service charges which I appreciate.
Highly recommend them for any plumbing needs. Ryan did a great job.
He's super friendly and makes you feel very comfortable. He explains the process and let's you know every step of the way what is happening.
Great service! Had sump pump replaced! Everything was done wonderfully! Would recommend. Service was amazing and very quick.Alan was very thorough and explained everything very clearly and went over all possible outcomes.
BEWARE!! BAIT AND SWITCH!! Called this company to give me a second opinion on some plumbing issues. Phone rep mentioned it would be 49$ for them to show up and then they'll diagnose the issue and advise solutions with prices.
Seems fair enough, except that's NOT at all what happened. Technicians arrived and I explained the problem I'm having, however before they would even touch anything, I was promptly handed bill for $980 for them to proceed with any work.
That price is seriously INSANE for camera and rodding work!! Technician said this was the best price and included a new customer discount. Needless to say I told these guys to leave and will call an HONEST plumber to have a look here.
Absolutely disgusted with this bait and switch tactic this company uses! Quick action on a shower and sink clogged with out of town guest coming the next day. Prompt, courteous, and up front actions and pricing.
Texting updates on appt date and time and then again when they were on their way to make things right. My mother's bathroom sink was leaking so l found this place on Yelp around 12:30 in the afternoon on a Thursday.
The man on the phone was extraordinarily kind and so professional! The two gentleman Ryan and Matt, who came to the house to do the repair were also kind, friendly, courteous, and professional. By 4:30 they were done.
I cannot recommend this company enough! They made us feel like we were their top priority that day. Their work was quick, efficient, and well done.
My mother is not an easy woman to please, but she had zero complaints! We heard some strange noises coming from our pipes and decided to consult a plumber. Found S&J on Yelp and everything from my initial call to schedule an appointment was excellent! Ryan F was our service technician and we are extremely happy with the services provided.
Ryan was thorough in explaining the issue and solution, gave us a quote, and went right to work. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and very easy to work with.
We will definitely call S&J for all of our plumbing needs and would highly recommend this team! My review is long overdue as Joe redid/removed/replaced/repaired the plumbing in our bathroom a couple years ago. I bought a house 10 years ago that was a flip that was done to look nice but inside everything was done wrong and half arsed.
Our pipes all froze, burst, etc throughout the years and I became a pro with a heat gun. But when it got so bad was when I was pregnant and we didn't have water for days.
We decided it was time to get this taken care of. We gutted the entire bathroom and Joe made a plan to redo the plumbing/pipes.
He made sure to be here to talk with the inspectors for the permits. I know I was a cranky pregnant lady with no bathroom and probably drove him nuts but he was always polite and went above and beyond.
He even was able to help us switch our water lines in the kitchen because they were backwards. He moved the pipes to where they made sense and would not freeze in the bathroom.
Fast forward to last year and we had a horrible incident where a pipe in the kitchen (totally unrelated to the bathroom or Joe's work) burst and had a slow leak. I called a water damage restoration company thinking more about the flooring, cabinets etc and was down the street from our house.
There wasn't much plumbing work to do they assured me they could handle it so I unfortunately didn't reach out to Joe. Moral of the story....
our pipes in our bathroom that Joe took great time and care working on, HAVE NEVER FROZEN ONCE. But without using Joe, we have had a frozen solid kitchen for its first winter since being completed.
Probably gonna have to call Joe to fix their bad work. Ryan and Art were very professional and pleasant, the work was performed flawlessly and everything was cleaned up before they left.
15/10 would recommend and will definitely call S and J for any future plumbing needs. Cost for this visit was less than I expected, which is a plus.
Needed to have a garbage disposal replaced. Ryan & Johnny arrived in the scheduled timeframe and did the work promptly plus a did few extra minor freebies.
I recommend S & J if you need plumbing work done. I needed to have the insides of three toilets replaced.
I asked what they charged and the guy kept giving me the run-around and wouldn't tell me a ballpark figure. He kept talking over me and kept saying they have to access the job.
What's to access??? My gosh . .
. it's changing the insides of a toilet.
I was setting up the appointment until he wouldn't tell me if it would be $200 or $1000. It was a big secret.
This is something that plumbers do all the time and he could not tell me a ballpark figure. OMG!! Just back from vacation and found my water heater leaking.
S&J came right out. Ryan and Constantine did a great job explaining my options and then quickly fixed it.
They were conscientious with keeping everything clean. Prices are fair and service great.
I paid S & J Plumbing for an estimate to rough in the connections for a sink. The intended sink would be just 2 feet from the existing lines.
The estimator was very nice and professional, but, wow, the estimate was extremely high. They estimated that the job would take 4 to 8 hours and quoted $2,400.
That's between $300 and $600 per hour. I don't think these plumbers graduated from medical school.
In the spring, they came out to jet a storm line that was not draining properly. Not one person thought to think "why did this occur in the first place?".
They just jetted the line and moved on. In the fall, we had the same drainage issue.
This time they sent our Mark who was fantastic and had a completely different approach. He didn't even know they were already out this year! Unfortunately for us, we had to pay to Jet the line twice with no ownership for the poor diagnosis that was done in Spring.
I accepted to let S & J complete out the repair job. But the Owner, Joe, refused to accept the job because I was not happy with the work done in Spring.
S& J sent Chris out in less than 24 hours! Found the issue, fixed it in under 2 hours, and handled it all while I worked from home. Team was respectful to our house, wore mask, and made sure to check everything with us before leaving.
Our previous plumbing jump was a mess - s & j cleaned up those errors. Reasonable pricing and good guys.
Just found our new plumbers moving forward!! Chris with S&J plumbing was beyond professional and helpful with our leaking (gas) pipes. We had a gas leak and they were able to address the issues quickly when other companies turned us away.
They were honest with costs and the situation at hand. I would highly recommend using Chris with S&J Plumbing.
Excellent service! Commendable work. Showed up exactly the time they said they were going to be here! Were very cordial and polite.
Respectful to my elderly mother and gave us a very competitive price on our work. The best plumbers that you will ever have to call! We called S&J for a second opinion after initially having ABC out when we had water back up into our basement.
ABC gave us a quote for 2 options both over $12000.. Ryan from S&J came and did his own video inspection of the pipes and showed us that the work recommended by ABC was not necessary and there was a much simpler fix.
We are very happy we got a second opinion and we're happy with the quick turnaround and the way everything was clearly explained to us. They even gave us an estimate if we chose to do what ABC recommended and it was significantly less than the ABC quote.
We will continue to use S&J for any issues in the future. A plumber from this company came out for a simple clogged drain and I was given a quote of $599 for them to ATTEMPT to rod out the drain.
I ended up going with another plumber with a reasonble rate of $225 for the first hour. It literally took them 15 minutes to unclog the drain.
Do NOT use these guys as they have predatory pricing!!! My hot water heater was leaking and I was in a panic. I called and spoke to Jay.
He couldn't have been nicer. They came out and explained everything and the work is complete.
A great job, I would highly recommend. I was looking for a plumber to rod out the drain in my bathtub because it was going down slow.
Looking at the reviews and finding a lot of positive reviews for S & J I decided to give them a try. Kyle and Luke came within the hour and got to work.
The drain in now flowing like new and I am very happy. Thank You Kyle and Luke.
Called S&J to replace some valves and pipes under the kitchen sink. The scheduling process was smooth.
Very fast turnaround times for both estimate and work. Our plumber, Ryan, came out for both the estimate and to perform the work.
Very professional and on time. Everything turned out great.
No more leaks! S&J is probably not the cheapest place but definitely high quality work. You get what you pay for and totally worth it in my opinion.
I located a faulty installed and corroded pipe in our basement, with black mold around it. Because it was located in a very tricky and hard to reach area, I contacted S&J on a Sunday afternoon.
They took down my info and called me back right away. Dave and Chris showed up within 24 hours to review, and ultimately service and replace the pipe.
They were polite, professional, wore masks and foot booties, and had the project completed within 90 minutes. I'd recommend S&J happily, and will be contacting them again as my go-to for any future projects.
would not give plumbing advice for homeowner in preparation for leaving home for extended period of time Jacob came out promptly to replace a Union where we had a gas leak. He was courteous and professional.
I would call them again for any future issues S&J plumbing, Jacob and his team, have been excellent to work with throughout the multiple visits they've had to make to our home for sewer flooding and drilling and installing a new water spigot. They have great customer service and respect, were helpful in assessing our issues and providing us with solution options that we were comfortable with.
They were upfront with solutions and costs and they did not start work until they had exactly what equipment they needed to fix our plumbing problem. You could tell they cared and wanted to do the job right.
The cost seemed expensive but reasonable given what work needed to be done. I will continue using them for further plumbing work and recommend to our neighbors and those in their service area when choosing a plumber.
My sump pump stopped working and I was terrified of a big mess until I reached these guys. A technician named Tom Iversen came out within 1 hour and replaced my ejector pump and put in a battery backup system in case of power outage.
The pricing was reasonable and the service was friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this company for any plumbing needs.
Ask for Tom Iversen and you will not be disappointed. Thank you Tom and S and J plumbing.
I had water coming up from my flooring and did not know where the problem was coming from. Kyle and Dylan came in and diagnosed the problem right away.
They fixed it quickly and I am very happy. S&J Plumbing was quick and responsive to help us with our partial flooding in our basement.
The managers Joe & Krista were so patient, helpful, and resourceful - they provided us with a referral to remove the water that accumulated in our basement through Chicago Water & Fire Restoration and they got on the job immediately, same day (CWF was also professional and reliable). Kyle helped us with the split pipes the next morning and he was super professional, provided options of how to proceed with pricing, worked quickly and efficiently, was on time, and he was great with our dogs.
Great experience with this company! They replaced our hot water tank. Very good communication and the install team was professional and courteous! Pricing is competitive but plumbers aren't cheap.
I would use again. S&J was great from dispatch to service.
Dylan did a great job on our water heater install! He was very honest and upfront about pricing and completed the job without any hiccups. We will use S&J again for any emergency plumbing needs, best plumbing company in Arlington Heights hands down.
Called s and j plumbing for my water heater. The office was super friendly, and sent Dylan T to help fix the issue.
After presenting me with a few options, he replaced my water heater and did a great job! Everything was cleaned up after and was all around a great experience. Will definitely use s and j again! I've had two different and unrelated plumbing issues in the last 12 months, and used S&J Plumbing for both repairs.
The first was a job to replace a failed sump pump, and the second was to locate and replace a burst pipe. In both cases, I called the company and they had someone out to do the work and make the repair in under 24 hours.
Chris and his team did both repairs in my case-- They are very polite, and explain everything in detail so you know exactly what is happening. There were not any unexpected surprises.
Keep in mind, there is a fee for the onsite visit and estimate of work. The fee is waived (absorbed into the cost) if the work is done.
They work from a price book so everything is standardized, and not subjective. They may not be the cheapest plumbing company in the neighborhood, but the work is quality work and the peace of mind for a well done job is priceless.
INCOMPETENT, DISHONEST and EXPENSIVE Worst possible Plumbers you'll run into. I hired them on a Friday and the guy that came in, was so frustrated about it being Friday and he having to work.
Gives me a quote for 8.3k. I compared it with another plumber that asked for 5k for the same job.
He started fixing a toilet when it was not even needed, and the root cause was totally something else. These guys are a joke of a plumbing company!!! Good for urgent issues.
Very responsive, white glove level service. Also very expensive.
$75 fee for inspection and estimate is $15-30 less than most, but then $700 to install a $150 sump pump in 30 minutes is far more than ~$500 I paid in the past with independents. At least I got a nice note pad, pen, fridge magnet, and thank you note too.
Chris came out for a leaky water heater. He changed it out and dressed up a botched piping job from previous plumbers.
End result, a picture perfect job. Not cheap mind you but you get what you pay for ! We've had problems in the past finding plumbers who would answer the phone or return calls, let alone actually come out for urgent problems.
Not so with S&J. They answer the phone and they come out promptly when we have problems.
We've had them do a sewer line repair and replace a water heater and been pleased with their work. So happy with the service.
I called at 9:30 am and someone one was at my door within the hour. Figured out the issue and got right to work.
By lunch time everything was fixed.'''.
