It's been two weeks, and I've left three messages for Netzel, and called seven times, and I've not heard back from them. I'm left wondering what might have happened.

I hired Netzel to do a two-part job because of some construction I had done. When I agreed to work with them, I made it clear that there would a gap between the work while some concrete cured.

I was assured this wasn't a problem and scheduling both parts of the work would be easy. The plumber who came out for the first part of the work was on-time, professional, and completed the job with no problem.

However, the work left us without some water and some gas. Now, however, Netzel has become unreachable to finish the work we had discussed.

After repeated emails, phone calls and text messages, I have come to the realization that Netzel has ghosted me. Not a great experience; makes me believe that I can't take this company at its word.

Jacob and his crew really know their craft. We have been using them for years.

From water tank replacement to leaking fixtures, our 120 year old house has many needs. Netzel is reliable and reasonably priced.

Highly recommend them! Netzel is fantastic! Jacob spent a lot of time assessing what our Association's issues were, and took the time to explain the problems to me, other plumbers did not do this. Jacob also helped me prioritize our plumbing to do list.

His quotes are reasonable, some of our projects were even charged less than the quote! Talk about being trustworthy and honest. Netzel is the bomb.

What more could you ask for? I used Netzel Plumbing back in 2017 & 2018. I had positive experiences both times, so when my master bathroom toilet in my condo started running at night, I decided to use them again to resolve the issue.

Big mistake. I don't know if they've changed management or ownership, but my experience this time was completely different.

The plumber came out on December 23 to inspect the toilet and told me that it looked like the issue was that the flapper seal needed to be replaced. He said he didn't have that type of seal with him and needed to run to the store.

He purchased the seal and came back to install it. He told me that the fill valve and angle stop should be updated as well, but it wasn't urgent.

He took out the old fill valve but then said he'd need the water shut off to install the new one. I had told the person who set up the appointment that my building needs advanced notice to shutoff my tier's water and had been told that wouldn't likely be needed.

The plumber said I could schedule that at a later date since it wasn't urgent. He noticed the tank was taking awhile to fill up so poured water from his bucket into the tank and then had me pay the invoice.

Since I trusted his expertise and he seemed eager to be off to the next appointment since he was behind schedule due to his previous appointment, I didn't ask him to stay to make sure the new seal worked properly. I assumed it would, but the next day I was unable to flush my toilet and when I tried filling the tank up with water it wouldn't stay in the tank.

I emailed the main address and texted the plumber to let them know the issue, which I thought might be due to the new seal since I did not have any issues flushing or the tank holding water before the appointment. The plumber said he'd try to find time to come out over the weekend, but since it was a holiday weekend, I said it could wait until Monday.

No further word from him or any response from the company until I called back twice on Tuesday before finally having someone gets back to me. I relayed the problem to the company and they said the plumber would come out Wednesday night to check out the toilet.

He came on Wednesday with another plumber and said the new seal was working, but sediment must be causing blockage in the fill valve from when he was working on it the previous week. I was told there was nothing he could do to fix the toilet and that I'd need to schedule yet another appointment to install a new fill valve and angle stop.

I feel frustrated going from having a working toilet before my first appointment with Netzel to a week without a working toilet after the plumber's first visit. In addition to being left without a working toilet, I also think I may have been overcharged.

As a single woman, I'm always cautious about being taken advantage of, but thought I could trust their company due to previous experiences. After paying the invoice, I noticed how much higher the cost was compared to my 2018 appointment for a similar issue in my guest bath toilet that required a new seal as well.

This 1.25 hour appointment cost me $247, yet I was only charged $116 for 1.5 hours work on a similar toilet issue in 2018. I would hope they wouldn't unfairly charge me higher pricing, but with all of the issues I've had with them this time, I can't help but wonder if I was.

I'll be using another plumbing company to fix the toilet Netzel messed up since I sadly don't feel I can trust them moving forward. We have had them in three times, across two different places we've lived, and they've done great work every time.

Unclogging a tub, installing a faucet, repairing a toilet, installing an inline water filter, and more. So happy with their service and people.

Called these guys with a leaking pipe in the basement. He came that day, within the hour, in fact.

The guy fixed it nicely, and had a very fair price. Great to get a worker that shows up, and charges reasonably.

These guys were great, from start to finish. We had a leak in our bathroom ceiling.

Which also happens to be the bottom of our roof. Jacob came out to take a look and provide an estimate.

He obviously knew his stuff. Very clear in explaining what he saw and what they'd have to do.

Estimate seemed reasonable. Cameron then came out to do the repair.

He was great. Super thoughtful and did everything he could to to avoid making a mess, even after I told him not to worry about it.

Explained everything clearly, including what was obviously the problem. Short story: whoever fixed it before was a moron.

Upon completion, the final bill was quite a bit less than the estimate since the job took less time than they thought. And most importantly, the leak is fixed.

We did a water test. It's rained a few times.

Dry as a bone. Hopefully I never need their services again.

But if I do, they're the first ones I'm calling. Timely, friendly and kind demeanor.

But mostly- got the job done! I would absolutely call these guys back. Aaaand, honest! We had two issues: one sink clog in our bathroom and a second bathroom faucet issue.

I asked if he could fix the current faucet versus us paying for a new one (and his time to install) and voila! He fixed the current so majorly saved some money. I'm a deer in headlights when it comes to home maintenance.

They came out this morning and were able to fix my faucet with out replacing. They easily could of hosed me and charged a lot and replaced but didn't.

For the last 20-some years, they've helped me so many times, from clogged drains to leaking toilets to burst pipes.

If I call them first thing in the morning they're here that day - usually that morning. They're friendly, their work is good, their price is reasonable and they return phone calls - you'd be surprised how rare that combination is.

I recommend them often and without hesitation. I'm happy we've found Netzel.

We've worked with Al twice and have been exceptionally pleased. I like that he shows up to scheduled appointments, on time.

He's friendly, thorough, clean, and honest. We've had pipes repaired, drains installed and valves replaced.

Overall good experience. The plumber showed up on time and knew what he was doing.

He even offered some insight and advice on other problems unrelated to the actual task I was paying for. One month later and everything is still working great! Took off one star because they mixed up the day I had scheduled and I thought they were no-shows - and I had stayed home from work to let them in, so that was frustrating.

But when I called they did apologize and it was pretty easy to reschedule. I would definitely use Netzel again.

My husband and I have used them twice and have been very pleased both times. We used them about a year ago to fix the kitchen sink in our condo and just used them again for a leaky toilet in our new house.

Both instances I was easily & quickly able to set an appointment, on time for appointment, up-front communication during the repair process, and always come in well under any other quotes we had received from competitive companies. They don't charge flat rates for jobs which is super refreshing.

They ALWAYS show up, are extremely professional, and always are clear about what your options are and the costs. I've never been disappointed by their work.

I hope it's alright to disagree with another Yelper, but I think this is important: I'm a huge, raging, flaming homosexual, and I've worked with Netzel for over 25 years. I've never felt any sense of bigotry that a previous reviewer described.

If a workman said "Leave the place clean, he's gay" I would think that that meant he was paying attention, not necessarily categorizing me. Netzel works on my home and my business and they're always extremely professional and courteous.

I've used a few different plumbers in the past but I decided to give Netzel a call based on a lot of recommendations from neighbors. I'm glad I did.

We were having an issue with an ejector pump in our building not automatically turning on. This has happened a couple other times in the past and instead of calling the same plumbers out, I wanted to give Netzel a shot at it.

Melissa in their front office really went out of her way to get as much information as possible about the issue ahead of her crew coming out. And she definitely took care of me when I needed to move up my appointment time.

Jacob arrived on time and had his apprentice with him which I thought was really cool to see the next generation of skilled plumbers getting mentored. It sounds like they're working hard not only to give us honest and excellent service, they are also training and passing on that knowledge too.

It was the end of a long day for them but they still went the extra mile and took the time to explain everything along with recommendations and I was billed a reasonable rate (which has never been the case with any of the previous plumbers I've used). I feel like I've managed to find one of the best kept secrets in Chicago plumbers.

Before they send someone out, they try to trouble shoot over the phone. So if it's a simple thing, they'll just tell you how to fix it.

Had them take care of a few things now and always well worth the cost. Reliable, efficient, reasonable cost.

Did complicated project on time and on budget. Rocky arrived within the expected appointment window.

I received a text message that he was on his way and a phone call to ask about the service needed in case any additional parts would be required. Rocky analysed the problem and showed me how to test the pressure in that segment of my system.

Turns out it was being correctly regulated so additional PRV and indoor work wasn't necessary. Rocky did advise me on the proper procedure to flush the hot water heater safely so I will be able to do this each year as suggested to keep it healthy.

I also needed my hot water heater expansion tank strapped as the original builder didn't strap it up properly. Rocky completed that work easily.

I greatly appreciate the honesty and helpfulness demonstrated by Rocky specifically. I will be calling them in the future if (when) I have additional plumbing needs.

These guys are great. They did what they said they would do.

They charged what they said they would charge. They showed up when the said they would show up.

We've used these guys for years, under both the previous owner and the current one. Service is usually prompt; the day, or even morning, after I call is typical.

Prices seem in line with what's standard in Chicago. What we *really* like about them is that if something doesn't need to be done, or there's a less-expensive solution, they'll come flat out and say so.

They are reliable, reasonable and responsive. We usually have to wait a day because our issues have never been emergencies, so not sure how they are with emergencies.

They replaced a water heater for us in exactly the manner we requested (moving it back farther in the utility closet so we had room to store the vacuum cleaner). This meant moving some copper pipes, which they did without complaint.

We got estimates ranging to more than $1700 -- for a simple water heater replacement with a regular atmospherically-vented gas unit, one that retails for under $500. Many contractors seemed like they were trying to rip us off, treating us as if we were dumb and uninformed.

One guy bragged about working with Lou Manfredini (I was on TV!, he said), as if that would impress us and cause us to spend an extra thou or so. Ha! Netzel did not BS.

We got the job done a couple of weeks ago for under $1,000 and it's working great. I can't recommend these guys highly enough.

I don't write many reviews, but my two great experiences with them stand out and merit my recognizing their work. First, our hot water heater was leaking water and we brought over about 7 plumbers to quote us on fixing or replacing it (complicated system, and we were getting different answers from all of them).

Netzel was the only one of the 7 that took the time to run the serial # of our hot water heater to see if it was still under warranty, which it turns out it was. Then they admitted that they weren't the right company to replace the unit under warranty, and gave us the contact info for the mechanical contractor we needed to call.

A less reputable plumber would have said "Yeah, I can do that" and then bungled the job. I vowed to give them another chance based on their honesty, and called them first when our kitchen faucet started leaking water into (!) our granite island top.

Al came the same day and quickly installed a new faucet for us, then fixed about 3 other, minor plumbing problems around the house (including 1, which a previous plumber couldn't fix and suggested that we needed to root the pipes at a cost of $200). Al was out of the house in an hour, and (here's the kicker) ONLY charged us for the time--not by the job as a lot of plumbers try to do.

It was a great value, Al was super efficient, courteous and cleaned up after himself. Having another issue with hot water pressure today and called the guys.

They'll be the first call I make in the future. My kitchen sink backed up after using the in-sink garbage disposal.

Netzel was able to send someone out first thing in the morning to fix the problem. The problem turned out to be more complicated than expected because of an unusual and needlessly complicated set-up that the previous owner had installed.

So, instead of just opening the clog, he cleaned out as much of the entire system as he could (and wow there was a lot of sludge built up) and explained to me why the kitchen plumbing has been so touchy since we bought the condo. He was pretty quick and down to business, but professional and knowledgeable.

He charged me for just an hour even though the work took a little longer and the overall price was reasonable. I'm sure my kitchen sink will have problems in the future and Netzel will be my first call.

These guys are great. I have a little shop and the Evanston City Health Department wanted us to install an additional hand sink.

Jacob navigated an outdated and tricky plumbing situation, managed the city inspectors, and worked with our building manager and neighbors to take care of exactly we needed. He explained everything to me as he went ...

I learned a ton. He even let us do the demolition so that the project was a little more affordable.

I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about when he calls them homophobic ... they're not at all as far as I can tell.

In fact, we talked and joked about a recent breakup of mine and they're totally cool and really funny. (Lighten up, dude!) I had a business in the same building as these guys a while ago, and I got to know them.

They're always friendly - even lent me some tools one time - and it turns out they're very professional too. Put them in your address book ...

I called again, they seemed a bit disorganized and caught off guard by the fact that they had not returned my call for a quote. When we finally got to the quote part, I got a smart ass remark regarding the manner in which they handle quotes.

Clearly, I found another a plumber as I am not their ideal customer. We have used Netzel for about 10 years and I am writing now because I heard that Rocky was retiring at the end of the year and was nostalgic about all the great work his team has done for us over the years.

Their prices are very good and they are honest. Actually they may have saved our lives by discovering a very blocked vent from our hot water heater to outside.

They have done some big jobs for us and they always turn out great. They have told us things that don't make them money but just are helpful.

I really respect these guys and especially Al for making some suggestions last time he was out that were very helpful and I really appreciate what a great clean up job he does after the work is done. Woke up this am to no hot water.

Called and Rocky came out to take a look at the hot water heater. he checked the pilot.

Re-lit it and so far so good. No charge.

Recently I had a the need of a plumber. I called Netzel based on a recommendation of my friends and based on a quote I had gotten from them some years before.

As luck would have it they showed up much sooner than promised. :) I appreciate the fact that they were willing to rod the pipes from the roof down to the catch basin.

I have had other plumbers balk about going up to the roof. Very clean and courteous.

I would have done it myself but I didn't have the right tools for doing it that way. He also took care of the trap for my shower saving me from changing it to a p-trap.

All in all he was quick, clean, and professional. In this case you get what you pay for.

My water heater broke, causing a huge amount of water to fill my basement. Al from Netzel plumbing happened to be in my neighbor's apartment; he kindly stopped his work, ran down to my basement, shut off the water and stopped the flooding.

Then he came back and replaced my water heater so quick we hardly noticed we had no water! The team then came back later when the repair work was underway, pulled out the new water heater (and washer/dryer), fixed two of our sinks while he waited for the repairs then put everything back. It was amazing, affordable, friendly, fast and a huge relief to have dedicated experts come out and take care of all of our plumbing needs! We called Netzel about two overhead pipes leaking rusty water in our basement.

Someone came out the same day (I think it helped that we live right around the corner from them) and gave us an estimate on what we needed to have done. The next day, Al came out and took care of business.

He was professional, courteous and efficient. The service seemed reasonably priced, although I don't have a lot to compare it to, since we fortunately don't need plumbing services very often.

But the next time we do, I'll call Netzel again. Rocky was very helpful over the phone .

Jacob came to our condo building and helped me understand how our over head sewer system works. Jacob helped me interpret our buildings plumbing blueprints or plans .

He explained the difference between a CAD drawing & our reality . Jacob spent time in New York repairing plumbing after the Hurricane so he is extremely knowledge and professional.

Only complaint, it takes awhile to get a return call. We have used Netzel on several occasions for different things during the past number of years.

Our 13 year old water heater started leaking one evening. I called our usual plumber that evening and left a message.

I walk by Netzel most mornings when giving our dogs their routine walk. I saw that somebody was inside there so I walked in and I explained our situation to Rocky, he said he would have a guy stop over in a bit.

Within 30min Jacob had arrived, he determined that the water heater needed to be replaced. They got a replacement one and were done by lunch time.

Everything worked fine for a day or so, the fuse our water heater was attached to kept blowing fuses. They had an electrician stop out; it turns out the wiring was inadequate, so he fixed that.

A week goes by and the fuse blows again. So the electrician stopped over again and verified that everything was wired correctly.

It started looking at the water heater and noticed some of the insulation was wet, the new one had a leak in it as well. The next morning Rocky called me and said they would stop over shortly and replace the whole thing.

We didn't have to worry about the warranty or anything; they would take care of it with the manufacturer. It wasn't their fault that the water heater was bad to begin begin with, however they kept working at the problem until it was solved.

Both Jacob and Rocky were great to work with and I highly recommend Netzel. I called Netzel Plumbing on a Monday because we had a problematic bathtub drain that had become completely blocked and wouldn't drain at all.

We'd tried putting some liquid hair/clog remover down it and it hadn't done anything, and hadn't gone down, and black sludge was floating in the tub. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone (might have been Rocky) asked about the building and given the age of my building (nearly 100-yrs old), explained what might possibly be going on - although he wouldn't know for sure until they came out.

He was able to schedule time to come out the very next day and called at 8am like they said they would to tell me when they could come over. The plumber was extremely careful and fast.

After 30 minutes, my bathtub drain was cleared, and he'd even caulked a few places in the tile in the shower that he'd spotted that had gaps. He recommended we switch out the tub spout as well and asked if we wanted to have him do that or not.

Since we're going to have the bathroom remodeled we decided to wait on that. I was extremely impressed as well with how well he cleaned up and left everything exactly the way he found it.

As someone who lives in an old building, I am so glad to have found a plumbing company who understand old buildings and their pipes and peculiarities. Plumbing is always expensive, but they were very reasonable.

I'm a very happy customer and recommend them highly. Summer of 2011 I needed a plumbing service to review the plumbing in my 2 story building since both bathrooms were being renovated.

2 services looked at my re-do, got estimates, then when looking for a 3rd found the Netzel name and called. They came that afternoon and reviewed the work to be done.

While there they reconnected a toilet for us to use, no charge. They also reviewed the necessary work, made recommendations (the other 2 companies did not).

Their price was better than the others. I hired them and am glad I did.

They did not have to remove al the old pipes, just the bad ones. A month later called again and they did another job.

This month (January) had a leak in the original are fixed, they came, looked and fixed no charge. At least, call them for their viewpoint on correcting the problem.

We have used other plumbers in the past, but called Netzel for a second opinion on a problem we were having with water backing up a drain in our basement. They were able to come in and quickly identify the problem and fixed it for a lot less than someone else quoted us.

So, I called them for a leak I was having in my shower. When I first called, he coached me over the phone how to troubleshoot it to save me time and money.

How awesome is that?!?! When I determined it was indeed leaking behind the wall! they came out the same day I called and fixed it within 2 hours. I was so worried we were going to have to cut into the wall, but he figured out a way so we didn't have to! I got the impression they are very reliable and honest.

and how did i come to this conclusion? well after the repairman left from fixing a sealing issue with a toilet in a guest bathroom, i read the work order. it read and i quote "bring shims and don't make a mess he's gay" i guess the guy who i made an appointment with could make that assertion without any idea, we never would have discussed my orientation on a professional basis.

the work took place on 06/28/11 i know i should have posted this before, and i don't know why i didn't at them out at the time, but i am now. so if you have no appetite for biggots or underhanded homophobia, move on and look elsewhere.

We had Netzel plumbing work on our condo, and because of the issues with the pipes they worked in our unit and the neighboring one. Months later, after thinking our dishwasher was just broken, we finally paid to have someone from ABT come and look at it.

He told us the valves to the dishwasher had been turned off and not enough water had been coming into it. I called Rocky at Netzel mostly to let him know what had happened and that I'd been stuck with a $169 service call bill because of what his guys did.

Though I didn't really expect him to pay for it, an apology would have been nice. What I got was a gruff, nasty response that I've never experienced from a business in Chicago after living here nearly 20 years.

I would NOT recommend them, and am still shaking from the way I was treated. I know professionalism and customer service when I see it, and I did not experience it today.

There are plenty of plumbers in this city; try someone else. Woke up to a leaking water heater and were referred to Netzel Plumbing by our HVAC contractor.

I called and spoke with Rocky and set up an appointment for the next morning. Later that day, Rocky called and asked to stop by to measure our utility closet to make sure he could get a new heater that would fit.

We don't live next door - we're all the way out on the NW side. Who does that these days? Rocky came, measured the area and found a heater that would fit without altering the closet.

Next morning, Sean arrived and began taking out the old heater. Rocky arrived an hour later with an awesome new heater and the two of them worked to get the new one in place.

After some serious replumbing, we have a great new water heater that fits like a dream and works great. We have a 100+ year old house with a lot of wonky plumbing.

If you need a plumbing contractor with knowledge, patience and integrity, Netzel's is your place. I'll definitely use them again for our plumbing needs.

He was a nice guy, but couldn't tell me why my bathroom sink faucet was leaking back into the wall. After half an hour, he guessed it was a particular part, and I should call the company to order a replacement.

Then I spent another hour (of time I don't have) to investigate it further myself (with no plumbing background whatsoever), and found it was a completely different part that was faulty by comparing it to my other, identical faucet next to it. Seems like something he should have been able to figure out.

During that recent rain storm that lasted over 24 hours i noticed our pump was not keeping up, called Flush at 5pm on a weekday and they were booked (probably due to everyone calling in).

2 gallons drinking water and a case of 16.9's on standby. I called Flush based on reviews and sure enough, all true! The return call came quickly, they came within 1/2 hour and NOT as an emergency call rate wise and problem fixed! The guys even carried out the damaged tanks.

Polite, efficient, professional ! Us 'damsels' can be skiddish of servicemens' tall tales and attempts at overinflated fees but I am confident Flush lived up to their positive image and reviews. The city returned promptly, turned the water back on and checked out the work done and about 9,000 gallons of sadly wasted water later, I'm back and running.

I called around looking for a plumber to come out and take a look at our main sewer line because we were having problems with it backing up into our basement. Flush called me back immediately and was upfront about their prices.

Darron was even able to come by after 5:00, which was fantastic since we're not able to be home during the day. Upon initial inspection, it was discovered that our main sewer line needed to be replaced.

Darron explained everything to us and quoted us a price for the job. He came back the next day and got to work replacing the line.

He worked with the city to get the permits and inspections. It took 2 days to complete the replacement, and during this time we were never left overnight without the use of our water.

I had used them 2X before. On the first visit, I was completely blown off and they didn't show after waiting all day at home.

I called and he "forgot" and was hung up at another job. Most people wouldn't give them another chance, but I did and they came the next day and did the job routing out all my underground gutter exits.

The second job was completed and involved installing a new sump pump and pit. It went fine however they left a sea of mud on my paver driveway.

Again, the rating has only to do with the incident and not with their service. After hitting a wall with another local plumbing service and no reasonable resolution in sight, I contacted Flush Plumbing.

Well we woke up to black water in our kitchen and laundry room sinks. Not fun.

Had to have sinks rodded out before so not too surprised. I also had a new garbage disposal that my husband said he would install over a year ago and never did.

So we called these guys and mentioned the disposal as well. They arrived on time and put in my disposal and rodded out the sink in laundry room.

The disposal took a little time but was not tricky to them as they said it was easy. Sink took only about five minutes.

I was happy everything was finished and clean, only thing is the bill was over $450. Yikes I did not expect that considering I purchased the garbage disposal myself.

It was backing up into an adjacent sink and they were able to clear it out. Ended up having to replace the p trap on the sink too, but it wasn't an issue for them.

Always support the smaller business! A Saturday night around 9:30 or 10:00 p.m. our sump pump stopped working.

We didn't realize it had stopped until my husband, who was in the family room downstairs, was heading upstairs and saw water flooding the utility room, and part of the downstairs bedroom and bathroom as well as the family room. Our main sewer line was backing up in the basement. I had one plumbing company out to take a look at the work.

They advised me that I would need to install about 8 feet of new pipe as well as an exterior clean-out valve. The clean out valve in the basement was only 4 inches in diameter so you couldn't properly clean out the exterior sewer line because it was 6 inches in diameter.

Decided to get a second opinion from Darren at Flush Plumbing. He came out and recommended we clean out the line from the manhole at the street.

Turns out my sewer line tied in directly to the man hole. He routed it out no problem and took care of some other minor plumbing issues for me.

This was no time for a main sewer line back up. Darron came out within hours of my call for help.

He evaluated the situation and gave me several options on how we could proceed. We chose the option that best matched our budget even though there was a 50/50 chance that it would work.

Darron worked extra hard to make that option work for us and after just a bit of time our toilets were flushing like a charm. Darron cleaned up after what was quite a messy operation.

He was polite, courteous and professional at all times. There wasn't ever a time that I felt he didn't have our best interests in mind.

They had to roter root(????) my sewer lines and it was successful. They also recommended some things to think about for the future because the way our lines were routed.

Definitely Crack head pricing or trying to get over on a person was able to call a real professional and have it done for 250$ I booked my appointment a week in advance, letting them know exactly what needed to be done. I scheduled other work for my remodel around their being able to finish my job, with more than enough time to spare.

Unfortunately they are short staffed, but also continue to over book their work, so I'm left hanging on a Friday with other contractors and deliveries already scheduled. I'm now having to pay another company emergency fees to keep me on schedule.

We had a sewer line backup and I called three companies, One company said there wasn't a problem, the other quoted us for something we didn't need. Armando and his team at Elk Grove Village Sewer & Plumbing came out 30 minutes after I called and scoped the sewer line and identified a cracked pipe.

He then called me to observe, via the camera cable, the reason for the overflow: The original age-related deteriorated sewer pipe collapsed from the rush of washing machine-pumped drain water from one end to the muddied, fully clogged collapse at the other.

Now, here comes my maintenance penance for 'what you can't see or hear is no problem.' OML...Integrity lives...Rather than the complete trench-and-tunnel cost I feared, thankfully came relief from an alternate much less costly repair-offer suitable for houses with a crawl space. Armando explained the procedure, and after confirming with the office, he and Colleen gave us orders to use the front bathroom only- anything else, ...until he and his crew return early in the morning to start repairs; but if the end of day doesn't come until well into the night they'll finish until the only thing left is for them to return when they can to merely clean and organize.

It was determined that a pipe cap was not tightened correctly and had a leak. They said the operator and owner said they could not come back until the following Wed.

We installed quartz countertop in our kitchen recently, so we needed a plumber to redo the plumbing lines below the sink. I looked at all the positive reviews and decided to call these guys to get a quote.

I was given a ballpark quote of $220 for removing and $220 for installing the plumbing lines, and the plumber will have to visit the site to provide an accurate estimate. Makes sense.

Before the installers came I went under the sink and removed all the connections myself, it took me half an hour (After I removed the connections myself, I felt like this should just be 10 minutes job for a plumber). The plumber came in after the countertops were installed, looked at everything and was like...

hmm... you have an under-mount kitchen sink, it will be very hard to install garbage disposal without doing any work arounds, I will have to cut into the drywall and move the lines back bla bla bla.

The entire job he said will cost me $560, which sounded ridiculous to me. I thanked him for coming and decided to get second opinion.

I'm glad I didn't trust him and went for second opinion. So I called another certified plumber with more than 20 years of experience.

He came in and I explained him what I was told by previous plumber... he just couldn't believe what he heard.

This "experienced" and "honest" plumber finished all the work in an hour. For the next 3 hours he replaced 3 toilets in my home.

For all of this work he charged me just $400 (this charge includes 1/2 hp garbage disposal, soap dispenser, plumbing fittings, wax rings). These guys I'm sure would have definitely quoted me upwards of $2000.

I'm giving these guys 2 stars just because the plumber came to my home and gave a free estimate, even though he tried to rip me off. One of the plumbing company I called wanted $49 just to visit and provide an estimate.

I just can't and will not recommend these guys to anyone. Always get a second opinion.

I contacted EGV S&P for a partial block and they returned my call immediately. They gave me a fair estimate, which was lower than all the other companies that I spoke with (approximately 40% lower).

I was initially hesitant to select them due to the huge difference in price, but opted to do so because of the high ratings. The technician that arrived was very professional and explained the problem.

I interviews several companies and their pricing was very fair and they are just plain good people. Yesterday I called them for a bad smell in my house.

Joe came over and it wasn't an easy find but he discovered the smell was coming from a eroded and broken part of the stack that goes to the roof vent. I'm yesterday sweltering heat he happily stayed in my attic for an hour fixing the pipe.

While using the washing machine, there was blackish water rising from multiple drains in my house. This is a sure sign of a blocked main sewer line, so I needed someone to rod my line.

Being a subzero day, my first thought was that plumbers would be extremely busy repairing frozen and bursted pipes. Based upon high Yelp ratings, I left a phone message for a highly rated Arlington Heights plumber...it's now been 3 days without even a returned phone call.

Moving on, I located and contacted Elk Grove Village Sewer & Plumbing, who also had high Yelp ratings. They provided me with a very reasonable quote, included a senior citizen discount and said someone would be out to rod my main sewer line within a same day 2 hour window.

Amanda called me when Joe was on his way over. Joe arrived in a short time and said he has been rodding sewer lines for over 25 years and would certainly fix my blockage issue.

Joe spent about 2 hours outside in the freezing cold rodding tree roots from my sewer line. He is a true professional, knowledgeable and a very friendly person.

My sewer line blockage is now cleared thanks to Joe. My intention is to now have him rod my sewer line every couple of years to stay ahead of the blockage problem.

Friendly staff. When we noticed an issue after he left (not related to what was fixed) he squeezed us in the next to fix it.

I had a real emergency two weeks ago, and it happened to be during nasty weather. My 4" floor drain was backed up so bad, the most potent drain opener wouldn't work.

I gave it the weekend, hoping it would eventually work, unfortunately it really got bad, and Monday morning I really had a mess to deal with. My work area with dripping slushy snowy vehicles only compounded the problem.

I called Village Sewer and explained I was kind of desperate. I was told it would be a few hours as Joe was on a job, but she'd send him over as soon as he finished.

Not an hour went by, and Joe was here. He got all his equipment out and started working.

Two hours later, he was finished. Thank goodness! I was really worried as it took quite some time to unplug the drain.

Joe was actually spending more time, as he wanted to make sure I'd get years of good service out of the drain system. He also advised me on maintaining the drain.

The job was for replacing shut off valves, but he insisted on selling me supply lines I explained I didn't need or want, as I was getting new countertops and they needed to install a new faucet in that process anyway. He did it anyway, but didn't charge me for all of them.

He also started inspecting my shower, which has nothing to do with replacing shut off valves, I told him it was fine and he got angry and wouldn't drop it until I told him I'd have him back to fix it (no I won't). At one point I asked him how things were going and he yelled at me "I am working !!".

I thanked him profusely and gave him ten bucks just to get him out of my home. Might use them again if they promise to send a different plumber.

Water heater was leaking they came out that day to assess May 5, 2020. Came back May 6, 2020 to install new water heater.

Have not had a functioning bathtub/shower yet. All I get are empty promises of them coming back to fix.

Even had EGV Public Works our to check the B Box which the plumber should have never opened and pressure is good at 42. 2 Reps from the village have called them to advise that this is unacceptable and they need to fix ASAP.

That was the last we saw of him. He came out relaxed shut off valve opened the b box and sailors leaking I will have Colleen call the Village on an emergency call out to fix.

No action. I place a ticket with the village on Sunday May 10, 2020 this was the first they knew of the problem.

They were out twice. Checked the b box no issues and checked the water pressure and no issues.

They even pulled the meter flushed the line checked the shutoff valve and all internal faucets. They said it is definitely something that happened with the water heater replacement.

Called Monday May 11, 2020 talked to Claudia said as soon as she had was Wednesday May 13, 2020 from 2-4 said okay. Village called them and told them that was unacceptable and needed someone that day.

Claudia called back and told me someone would be there May 11, 2020. Sadly a no show.

No one showed on May 12, 3020 either. I called again on May 13, 2020 to confirm our argot 2-4 was told by Judy we were not on the schedule for that day.

I asked how that was possible as Claudia told me on Monday I had an appointment from 2-4?? She stated it looks like she never put us on?? Judy assured me Ryan would be here on May 14, 2020. How sorry she was this happened.

I won't keep you in suspense as I am sure you figured out Ryan never showed up. So now we are at day 8 with no functional bathtub 5:14 Colleen and Ryan were just here.

Ryan used compressed air and blew it through the shower head and the spout and the pressure returned to normal. The shower still would not go on so he replaced the spout and we now have a fully functioning shower.

We have an older home and have had Elk Grove plumbing out for two jobs. They do great work and are competitively priced.

Once was a 2nd quote and they gave a better price and did a great job. It was free for a 2nd estimate just have them over Utterly disappointed with their service and treatment of customers.

I had a clogged toilet. First visit - tried to sell me a new toilet for $700 (which they eventually discounted to $550) but I declined.

Said I had a cracked flange but wasn't a big deal. They removed the toilet from the base, fixed the clog, and put the toilet back on the base.

Used two wax rings and told me the toilet would "settle" and to sltighten base bolts and clean up wax that oozes out. Cost me $150.

Toilet was extremely wobbly and unsafe to sit on. Called them back for round two the following week.

The same plumber came back, claiming it was because of the cracked flange - I pointed out that my toilet was rock solid on the base before he ever showed up. He got angry, called me a liar, and blamed me for the problem.

He wanted another $200 to fix it. I ended up asking him to leave.

Lesson learned? Round three will be me watching a DIY YouTube video... *UPDATE* 2/5/18 - Got a call back from Elk Grove Plumbing, very apologetic and accommodating.

They sent Paul to correct the problem - he was in & out in less than 30 minutes. Paul was a master of his craft.

I live in a suburb with the old clay sewer pipes. Tree roots are constantly finding their way in there through the joints and when I don't get the pipe rodded every year, I get backups into the house.

After they rod the pipe, I am totally backup free for another year. They'll tell you straight out that your pipes are fine and if you get them rodded yearly, you won't need them replaced.

With my huge front yard, a replacement would cost around $10,000. I see people all around me getting their front yards dug up by unreputable contractors.

Village Sewer recommended the installation of a clean out in the front yard and even said I could make an appointment to get it rodded without having to take off work (that was my reason for always putting it off). I asked the owner if he needed me to prepay and he said, just send us a check after we do the job.

Great guy and great company. I have an appointment with them on June 15, 2018 to come and look at 2 toilets that drain water on there own when no one is in the bathrooms and also need 2 bathtubs looked at draining trouble.

Wow, we were having sub pump issues, I was dreading having to call a plumber knowing the hassles you can have finding one that doesn't have an attitude, a $100 (service charge), three day window or charge you an arm and a leg.

I got on Yelp to see who had excellent reviews. I called Elk Grove Village Sewer and Plumbing.

I explained what the problem was and the gal on the phone said they could send someone over to give me a free estimate within 2 hrs. Mario arrived in approx 1-1/2 hrs after i called, told me the problem, quoted me a price and had a new sub pump installed in less than 1/2 hr.

I was very satisfied with the service. I would definitely refer them to anyone and call them in the future!! We were gone for the month of February and when we got home discovered an enormous water bill.

Needless to say, WE HAD A LEAK. Worse yet, it was in the concrete slab.

I've never had a plumber to the house before so I called a friend who suggested that I use Elk Grove Village Sewer and Plumbing (Village Sewer and Plumbing). I called them and the next day they showed up for an estimate and a time when they could start the project.

Two trucks and three guys showed up to tackle the job. Paul was the lead guy.

Terrific crew, very personable, friendly and very conscientious. The owner Joe, showed up half way through the job and put my mind at ease that everything would be done to our satisfaction.

Another terrific guy. The leak was discovered and the repairs made.

Once they left, quite a few hours later, I was exhausted just watching them. I can't imagine how they felt.

Several feet of concrete had to be broken up to get to the leak. The great customer service didn't end when they left that day.

I spoke to Colleen at the office and once again had a really great experience. This company is top notch.

Nobody ever calls a plumber unless they need one, however, these guys were so nice, I just might call them up to chat or to even say, "have a nice day!" Thanks for everything. What a great company Village sewer and plumbing saved the day for us.

They came out and had our outside sewer unclogged within an hour, for a very reasonable price. Joe the owner was as friendly and helpful as I've worked with.

I don't write reviews often but I was so happy with the job they did that I'm making an exception. They will be the first one I will call for future plumbing problems.

I had a hard time finding a company for my job and glad I found these guys! I needed a new spigot on the side of my house and an old one replaced. The guys who showed up for the estimate were the same to do the work, so we didn't have to start all over with our conversation.

Scheduled the work to be done within a week of signing the proposal. Very nice guys and very professional.

Put tarps down on my carpet so everything was clean when they left. One of the bricks cracked during the drill to the outside, but I had an extra brick and he is coming to cement that in for me.

Great for emergencies. we just had Elk Grove Sewer out to help us with a back up we had in the house - the other day when running water (and after flushing a toilet) water came up out of the utility room drain in the floor seeing it back up that way we didn't feel comfortable trying to fix it ourselves and felt better having it looked at by a professional.....

so we looked for recommendations and a friend gave us the Elk Grove info... called and got a quote on the phone - they came out the same day!!! Joe was our man (and from reading other reviews sounds like he IS the guy! :) we were VERY happy with Joe he was very polite and informative explaining in detail every step he was doing AND giving us background info on things how they work as well - he said it was a sewer issue and went out to the opening in the lawn and rodded out the line like 3-4 times - very thorough making sure to get everything - we had some root issues and also were given some treatment to help with that as well as recommendation for maintenance for a bit to make sure what type of roots we are dealing with.

Again SO professional and VERY polite - making sure we fully understood everything - i don't think i have ever seen anyone so thorough before - and the price was what we were quoted for - we can rest knowing it was done right and problem solved - i would not hesitate to use them again in the future - I really liked Joe! We finally decided to replace our kitchen faucet and all the "fun" stuff under the sink - valves, pipes, food disposer ... tons of neat work that needed water shut off in the whole building.

We were recommended to call this Elk Grove company and particularly ask for Joe. Customer service girl on the phone was outstanding and so sweet - she tried to work around my schedule and found the service hours that work for me! Could not be more pleased with Joe's punctuality, diligence and expert work! He inspected everything and gave us a quote as well as lots of advise.

Very reasonable prices too. Joe was working non stop for 3 hours checking and double checking everything! He is absolutely the best! Very humbled guy as well.
