Their service call was the cheapest and they were also able to get someone out to me within 3 hours. Nicolas (2 year apprentice) and Grant (17 years licensed) came out.

They greeted me at the door, shook my hand, and requested permission to enter my home. Grant was hilarious.

Grant and Nicholas arrived and installed 2 extra height toilets and a replacement bathroom faucet - both critical to help with my father's disability. They spent a significant amount of time explaining things to me, assisted with bringing the very heavy toilets up to the bathrooms, discarded all trash and left the place clean, and most importantly, successfully installed everything I needed.

They were also very flexible and understanding when I had to run back and forth to the store as one of the toilets was broken out of the box and needed to be swapped. I wouldn't hesitate to use Preferred Professional Plumbing again.

This is the third time we've used Preferred Professional Plumbing in the last couple months. First, Grant and his assistant came out to replace our hose bib, the part that provides water to an outside spigot.

While they were on that visit, I mentioned we'd need to buy a new kitchen faucet. He took a look and suggested we call Moen and ask for a warranty replacement.

That saved us from buying a $300 faucet. He came out the following week and installed the new faucet.

Both of those visits were great. Then last Friday, our 75-gallon water heater died.

I called Grant, and he said he'd be able to get out the next day to replace it with either a new tank, or a tankless model. We opted for the tankless one for unlimited hot water.

He again showed up on time and got us hot water with some temporary connections... you never realize how much you miss hot water until you don't have it.

He came back twice more to run all the permanent water, gas, and air lines. He's a real artist with piping.

They plunged it for me and asked if there was anything else I needed. I had been planning to have the ice maker in my freezer hooked up and they agreed to do that while they were here and I only had to pay the service call the one time! Their work on the ice maker fittings in the wall looks great and is still bone dry several weeks later.

Dear Yelp, I meant to write you sooner, but I just been busy...wait, where was I? Oh yeah, the review of Preferred Professional Plumbing! So a little over a month ago, I had an problem with a backed up kitchen sink. This has been a recurring issue for the past few years and usually needs to be snaked once a year.

A previous plumber said the plumbing to the sink would eventually need to be redone due to the gunk in the aging pipes, which kept causing this same problem. Not wanting to resort to that, I would just opt for the cheaper clearing of the problem and move on.

Fast forward to this time. I texted my usual plumber.

No response for days. I won't mention them, but I'll just say it must be nice to be so busy that you can completely ignore your customers.

Now in the unfortunate situation of having to find a new plumber, I requested a quote from several through Yelp. Grant at Preferred Professional Plumbing responded in a few minutes.

Said he could come out the next day. Sounded good to me.

When he arrived the next day, they tried to snake the drain unsuccessfully. Going into the crawlspace, they found some rusted old piping with holes.

No more putting it off, looks like we're going to need to do that re-piping now. Scheduled for Grant to come the next day.

He (and another worker) arrived on time, showed me step by step what they were doing, and did a fine job on the new pipes. Looks much cleaner than before.

Also, I had purchased a new sink and faucet some time back, but didn't have it installed. Since Grant was doing the other work, I asked him to give me a quote on these 2 installs as well.

He gave me a super reasonable price for everything and it all looks good! Both guys made sure to clean up the work area after they were done. Everything is still looking and working well as of this review, a little over a month since Grant was here.

Thanks guys!!! Juan and his colleague went above and beyond on a service call! I needed a toilet installed in my elderly parents bathroom. Juan assisted me through the purchasing process, advised me on how to measure for proper fitting, evaluated pictures I sent, and answered many questions.

He was reasonably priced and offered to come out the next day. Because we weren't sure if an elongated toilet would work in this small space, I purchased two.

Juan installed the base of the elongated so my parents could actually see how it fit. We went with the round toilet and Juan also took the time to install safety rails on it and advised my parents not to use as a support bar to get in the shower.

It was a more complex job than initially thought, as it required numerous adjustments to existing gas and water pipes to accommodate the new unit (of a different brand), but Juan was patient and thorough to make sure the job was done right (despite the extra time commitment required).

This was the third large plumbing job that I've hired Juan to tackle. I always find him to be extremely responsive, friendly, knowledgeable and more affordable than others.

He takes tremendous pride in his work and never looks for the easy shortcut, which is why I continue to make him my first/only call when a plumbing issue arises. You won't regret doing the same.

This company should be called "Heaven Sent!" They were such a blessing to me and my family. I am so thankful to Juan and his partner for their assistance with finding the orgin of leaking pipe that was the cause a lot of problems and repairing it at a fair and reasonable price! Although, they are a small independent business, they out perform the larger plumbing companies that will come up when you do a Google search! They are polite, professional and knowledgeable.

After having the other major plumbing companies come out and not find the orgin of a leaking pipe, Juan had it pinpointed in about an hour! Him and his partner then repaired the problem in about 2 hours (with no breaks.) They left all work areas spotless and were very considerate about Covid precautions. Since that time, we've tried several of the different large plumbing services who were providing "large" estimates without even looking at my issues. For me, the very last straw was when I called one of the services I used at the very start of my issues.

The new technician explained to me that the technician that the firm sent out the first time didn't do the work correctly but he (from the same exact company) would fix me right up for an additional $4,000. It was at this point that I knew I needed to try a very different approach.

I opened Yelp and placed a query for a plumber. Juan from A&Y plumbing and Sewer Services responded to my query.

Let me just say that if you are a homeowner in need for quality work by someone who not only explains to you what needs to be done but "also" treats you with respect - this is the company for you. I have noticed in previous projects at my home that some of this large plumbing services assume that if you are calling them, you are so desperate to end your problem you will pay any ridiculous cost.

I've owned my home over twenty years. I have at least a couple of instances where I knew I overpaid for subpar work and I was determined that I would be treated fairly in the effort.

With Juan I felt in my gut that he would be trust worthy because he started out with "let me see if this can be fixed and if not, we can discuss other options". This was In stark contrast to the other service where the gentleman immediately told me, "this isn't something you repair, it is something you replace!".

He hadn't even come to my home yet. In short, Juan was able to fix it.

He then walked me through the process he followed to trouble shoot the issue and correct the problem. I have an advanced degree in information technology so root cause analysis is something I truly appreciate! It doesn't mean i expected to walk away knowing how to troubleshoot this issue myself but for someone to just give me the respect of fully explaining "what" was happening and "why" we needed to fix/replace things.

For me, during a time when I felt like other services were treating me horribly - it was absolutely refreshing to be treated with kindness and respect. The cherry on the cake was that Juan's cost was reasonable and his work was awesome! This was one of those times where I very gladly paid his fee and I am already referring him to my friends and family.

No lie there . Responded promptly, identified and repaired the issue with my tenant's water heater and the job was done within 3 hours of my first phone call.

I called late in the afternoon and still got same-day service which was helpful because two plumbers cancelled on me and if someone didn't come that day, my tenant would have been without hot water for over 24hrs. It is hard to find words adequate enough to describe how truly awesome Juan is.

I hired him to install a new toilet in my home. I had seen the wonderful reviews about him here on Yelp, and that made my decision much easier.

Juan utterly exceeded everything I was anticipating. He was very responsive and communicative.

He showed up on time, and even waited patiently outside when I was delayed answering the door. His son was with him, and was such a kind and proficient helper.

They both had masks on the entire time they were on and in my property. I had bought this house earlier this year, and the old toilet was an utter mess.

It had obviously not been maintained for years, and the wax ring had likely completely deteriorated. Needless to say, it was a very messy removal.

However, Juan and his son very carefully removed the toilet, bagged it up, and then took it outside and into my trash bin. They then carefully cleaned the entire surface of the floor underneath the toilet before installing my new one.

The installation was not straightforward because the plumbing under the toilet was slightly askew, and also about 1/2" too close to the wall. Juan explained the situation to me, and gave me some options.

We came to an agreement, and things went perfectly. He also went above and beyond to ensure that the new wax seal under the new toilet was as tight and leakproof as possible.

They also cleaned up another area of my bathroom floor where foam spray had fallen a couple of weeks earlier, and had left some very resistent residue on the floor surface. I was not looking forward to having to try to remove that residue myself, and then lo and behold, Juan and his son just removed it for me.

Juan is the type of contractor that you will wish you could hire to do all of the work in your house. He is a true diamond in the rough -- an extraordinary contractor and an extraordinary man.
