When I turned on the air conditioner for the first time this season, it was making an awful lot of noise... a kind of rattling sound that certainly shouldn't be the noise you hear from your central air.
I also really need the AC to be working properly, because even though I usually just deal with the heat or turn on a fan in the summer it gets VERY hot up on the third floor of my townhome (where the bedrooms are), and to ensure safety for my soon-to-be July infant that won't be able to regulate their temperature. I called Oasis (and apparently we've called them in the past) and they came out within a couple of days.
We learned that the AC unit was from 1997--the year this place was built! So it was in desperate need of replacement. To get it taken care of in one fell swoop, we chose to replace the AC unit (including condenser), furnace, and humidifier.
This particular unit is for the third and fourth floors, so you know where I'm going--it's a rooftop unit. Had they needed to use a crane it would have cost another several hundred dollars easily, but thankfully since there's an egress stairway from the roof deck they were able to bring everything up that way and we didn't incur the additional cost.
The guys were efficient and competent. They got here a bit after 7 am and were finished by 1 or 1:30 in the afternoon.
They made sure that we understood how everything works, and they also corrected some weird pipework that was installed before we moved in that blocked the furnace filter area. The work was quieter than I expected it to be, which was a bonus since I was working from home that day.
We had a quote before the guys left from the diagnosing-the-issue appointment. Although it was expensive, all the work was necessary and I have confidence it was very well done.
They charge a $165 fee to diagnose your issue, but if you chooses to continue the work with them they will apply that to the cost of your work. I need to have some duct cleaning work completed and I'll be checking to see if they do that as well.
I was very pleased with the work and the professionalism of the guys who completed it, so unless things go sideways or we move out of their service area, I plan to use Oasis for heating and furnace issues moving forward. I'm not sure what the quality of the work would have been, as they worked really hard to make it impossible to get hired.

When I first connected with the scheduler, she advised me that the initial visit costs $165, and if there is a second visit and/or parts needed, this amount would be deducted from the final charge. Ok, makes perfect sense.
What doesn't make sense is that the business never provided a proper itemized estimate. All I could get from them was "Remove existing motor, replace with new motor".
No parts listed, no labor cost breakdown... We went back and forth three times, but the business was never able to provide an actual estimate in a way that is not only commonly accepted, but also allows a customer to decide whether the estimate is competitive or not.
When I finally connected over the phone with someone who claimed to be the owner, he told me that he's too busy to provide estimates to his customers. And he added the usual bullsh*t too - "those parts are so expensive, I don't know why 'they' gave you such a low estimate", "I have 19,000 customers", "we are an honest business"...
Makes you wonder what is that he doesn't want you to see. Does he charge 500% markup on parts? Does he charge 6 hours of labor where 2 would be the industry average for this job? Who knows? The owner certainly doesn't want you to.
10 minutes on Google reveal that the part costs a little over $100. He asked for nearly $900.
Now I know why he's so intentionally vague. Excellent Company, Great Service.
I had a central AC unit crap out the night before a heat wave. I called at 10:30 at night - they answer the phone 24 hours - and chose not to have emergency service but Mike called me at 7:04 in the morning to schedule a time THAT SAME DAY to repair my unit.
He came out at 9:30 am, diagnosed it right away, and brought the right part with him "because it's usually this part" to make a fast repair. Fast, simple, done.
Plus Mike is about the nicest guy you can meet when you are stressed out about the potential of an unforeseen major repair. Just prior to the heat dome starting, my air conditioner gave out.
Oasis was able to send someone out the day after I called them. I could tell they were really busy.
They called me the morning of to let me know they had a lot of appointments that day and they would be arriving a few hours late. They texted me when they were on the way and fixed the problem within 20 minutes.
The guys they sent were polite, professional, and even found an issue with the other air conditioner that would have caused flooding if left uncorrected. I was nervous because I've been told so many things about my air conditioner needs to be replaced and it would cost thousands of dollars but Oasis said that that was unnecessary and that just the capacitor needed to be fixed.

I have had very good experiences with Mike and his team over the years at Oasis HVAC. A few years ago when we first moved into the house, another HVAC company provided maintenance to the system while disconnecting the overflow drain switch on the AC coil pan.
Therefore the unit ran for days and flooded our downstairs DEN. Oasis saved the day, reinstalling the switch and fixing the system.
Now our old system is 19 years old and makes no sense to pay $1,000 to fix it so yesterday we decided to replace it. Mike came out to look at the old central air and heating furnace unit which is in the upstairs of our bungalow.
Seated horizontally, it was going to take a lot of work to get the old unit out and the new unit in. We selected the American Standard (highest rated in the industry a.k.a.
Trane) 80K BTU 2 stage furnace/central air and an American Standard 3.5 ton 13 seer A/C unit outside. The team of 5 guys came out to install it just 4 days after signing the contract promptly at 7:00am and completed the entire job at 2:30pm.
They had originally thought it would take a day and a half. I also elected the annual maintenance which they come out 2 times per year and will also cover labor, along with manufacturer's hardware warranty for 10 years.
The units are EXTREMELY quiet, you cannot even hear them run. Especially being outside and entertaining the patio.
My electric bills are also expected to decrease significantly. The 19 year old previous system originally purchased from Sears was costing an additional $400/month just to run in the summer to to mention the old freon was $220.00 per pound.

I cannot recommend Oasis Heating & Cooling enough. My heater wouldn't turn on during one of the cold spells he had this winter.
I called them, well knowing that it might take them a couple of days to come by. The operator was so kind and made it happen by the end of the day.
I appreciated her ability to sympathize with me (we had a crying baby in the background) and she called all the employees to see if there were any openings. I appreciated her so much for that! Once we got someone out (that same day) they ordered the part within hours and were ready to come back the next day.
However, the problem turned out to be a huge People's Gas problem in the community and we had to cancel the order. The owner made sure to keep in contact with us to make sure the issue was resolved with People's Gas and that our heating and cooling system was working.
I appreciate them for their promptness, their empathy for a young family (who wants baby to be cold?), and for checking in. We will continue to be costumers.

We are in a new construction condo and have had issues with the developer's own handiwork so wanted to use an independent HVAC company to fix some issues around our smart thermostat and humidifier. The tech, Danny, did an excellent job in diagnosing and fixing our issues.
He showed up on time, followed all recommended protocols for COVID, and was extremely detail oriented in examining and diagnosing what was wrong. He found a few different issues with the furnace installation and set up (beyond what we were aware of) and explained to us in detail all of the items he was fixing and the root cause of the problems we had called about.
Everything was addressed within ~30 minutes and there were no additional parts required so we were only charged what was initially quoted to us for the diagnostic visit. On pricing for Oasis - we didn't go with the cheapest option we found because we wanted to make sure it was done right the first time but Oasis was definitely much more competitive than some of the quotes we received.
