Recently we had an issue with our washing machine drain pipe overflowing sporadically. Sporadic problems are the worst to diagnose and treat.
On their first visit, they were unable to find the issue but did their best to troubleshoot. We had them back a bit later and they were able to diagnose the issue; part of our drain hose dislodged and was stuck in a pipe in our wall.
They came back and cut open our wall, cut out the section of pipe with the issue and replaced it and let us know about an unknown leak behind the wall. We really trust Sound to take care of us and charge a fair price.
While we don't like to have to call them, we appreciate their expertise, promptness, and professionalism. First-review worthy! Kevin, Mitch, Debbie, the whole Sound Plumbing crew, they are amazing.
They are not only pros who somehow leave my house cleaner than when they arrived, they are kind and caring as well, getting an emergency plumbing issue tackled amidst a personal medical conflict on our end. I have never felt that I was being taken advantage of when using them and I highly recommend! I noticed a gas smell coming from our dryer shut-off valve after disconnecting the dryer; they said they'd squeeze me in the next day to get it taken care of. Kevin came out on the early side of the appointment, took his shoes off before coming in the house without me asking and replaced the valve within 15 minutes.

Mitch was dispatched to our apartment to look for the leak. He was prompt, professional and knowledgeable.
I had already removed a section of the ceiling to expose the pipes. He spent about an hour looking.

Sound installed a new hot water tank and pump for our 110-year-old condo building the Summer of 2018. They were outstanding from my very first conversation with them, and their work was impressive despite the challenging idiosyncrasies of a large, old building.
Their quote was competitive and the work finished right on budget and time. Called for a routine toilet fix, had to come back twice because it was being finicky, but came back in the same day without extra charge.
Even showed me around my house in terms of water main shut-off, tutorial of my homes plumbing, etc. A+ service, and price was reasonable, will use again instead of trying to fix the toilet myself and making it worse off than it was! Great service so far.
Asked them out late to fix a shower and said they could come back to care of a few other issues but they just took care of pretty much everything. Guys were efficient, courteous and appeared to do good work.
Our management company has always been extremely satisfied with Sound Plumbing's service. They are quick to respond and extremely experienced with all plumbing matters.
The Sound team is friendly, communicative, and very expert. Mid-kitchen remodel, I realized I needed the gas line to my stove moved about a foot to accommodate new cabinets.
I contacted four different plumbers who quoted me a minimum of $400 to do what I knew would be less than an hour's worth of work. When I contacted Sound Plumbing, Debbie told me they charge by the hour, and the job I was asking for would be two hours max.
All in all, it took an hour and a half, and they prorated the half hour on my invoice. The work was top notch.
Now I know who I'll go to if I need any other plumbing done. Sound Plumbing sent someone within hours of our request for service.

He came out within a few hours, cleaned the flame sensor and the water heater started working again. Unfortunately, it went out again after an hour, so the next morning he sent Mario who wound up calling GE tech support to determine what to do.
I was able to order the part and Kevin instructed me on how to install it myself. It has been several days and it's still running, but when it's time to replace, I will definitely call Kevin.

While they were very busy due to the high volume of pipe bursts in the city, they were extremely late in making our appointment. We weren't given an estimate to fix the issue and instead were sent a $400 bill to stop the leak.
What we late learned was that the plumber didn't even re attach the pipes so that we could use our washer and dryer. Net net, we had a late plumber, a $400 charge to stop a leak and not even fix it.
Not recommended until your issue is not urgent and you receive a firm quote beforehand. These people are over the top.
We have used them several times and have always had our expectations exceeded. Will not use anyone else as long as they're around.

You can find just as good of plumbers elsewhere for cheaper, which is my plan. They did make mistakes on some very simple stuff.
If I didn't catch it, they would have had to come back out again. Also, didn't have a simple part (a cartridge) for fixing a leak from sink.
Not sure if it's common not to have parts like that readily available but would seem smart to do so. Thus, had to make time for plumbers to come out twice and their hours are very limited.

I'll refer him to everyone I know needing a plumber. While this wasn't a perfect experience, I was happy with Sound Plumbing.
Originally I sent a picture of the cast iron flange in a guest bath I needed repaired and they gave me a quote. When it came time for my appointment, they called and asked if they could come an hour early.
I rearranged my day to accommodate... then waited half an hour past the earlier time they were supposed to come.
But when they did show up, the guys were friendly and professional. Got straight to work.
Being nice to my overly-friendly dog made up for the lateness. They installed a new flange, and it was so well done we joked about not setting the toilet at all so I could just show guests the flange.
However they did slightly chip the tile, and if anyone looks closely enough the chip is visible even with the toilet installed. Then I got the bill, which was almost 3x as much as I was quoted.
At no point was I informed about the cost going up so much. The owner did review the bill for me, explained why it had been more than expected, and brought the price down to meet me somewhere in the middle.
Ultimately the work was as beautiful as a closet flange can be and these guys are clearly good at what they do. And I completely understand that a cast-iron flange in a 100 year old building gave them more trouble than your average repair.
I would probably even use Sound Plumbing again, because the guys were great. But I have to dock a star for asking me to rearrange my day to show up early, then not showing up much earlier.
And for the fact that no one told me either before, during, or after the repair that it was going to cost so much more than I'd been quoted, until I got the bill. I really appreciate the owner working with me on the cost, but I feel like you should be warned at some point if the bill is going to be more than 10-20% over.
And DEFINITELY if it's going to be 300% of the quote. These guys are legit! We were experiencing issues after a remodel where we weren't getting any cold water.

Yelp was right again!!! I read the reviews and really preferred someone in the "hood". I saw the positive reviews for Kevin and gave him a call.
When I called, he was driving. He went out of his way to pull over to listen to my issue and make plans to come and look at my plumbing problem.
We planned for the next day as my issues was a slow leak and not an emergency. He was great to talk with, did not make me feel rushed, listened to my issues and graciously offered to come and look at the problem.
He showed up on time and, in fact, he was here early. He looked at the problem, identified the unique challenges of the tight space he had to work in.
Before he got deep into the repair, we discussed an estimated price, barring any majors issues. He performed the work and actually went so far as to make an added enhancement.
(My copper pipe was touching a galvanized metal air duct. He fixed the leak and also rerouted the pipe about 2 inches so it would no longer touch the duct and potentially corrode the "less noble metal".) The repair went as planned and the cost was what he originally quoted, with no surprises.
He supplied the parts and did a very neat and clean job on the solder joints. In fact, his work looks MUCH better than the original developer's work.
