After calling a few plumbing companies, all of them requiring me to wait one or two days, the process with Planet Plumbing was a relief. I called and spoke to a receptionist who immediately contacted one of their plumbing techs.
He reached out to me within the hour to let me know he was on his way to my house. He was professional and courteous, and found the leak inside a drywall.
It was a huge relief to have this pressurized copper line fixed without any delay. I don't have much experience to compare prices, but they seem to be reasonable.
I only wish that the receipt I received via email a couple days later was more detailed. The tech had told me about the hourly rate (about $200) and that I'd have to pay extra for parts, which seems fair.
He spent less that a couple hours, but the receipt didn't detail anything, only the total amount which reflected more that 2 hours. I understand that he had to cut drywall and replace the copper pipe, but it would make sense to show all of the specifics with prices on the receipt.
Also, plumbing can be really dirty, and even if the tech was very careful not to make a mess, it would be nice if they had stuff to cover their shoes to avoid spreading mud everywhere. Still, these are small complaints.
Once again the overall service was very smooth and professional, and I would use them again in the future! They charged me $225 for the first hour to diagnose low water pressure in two back-to-back showers at my rental property and provided an estimate of $2,400 to rip out shower wall tile and replace both shower valves, never mind the cost to rebuild the wall. *I fixed the problem in two hours.* The technician could have fixed it in the hour he was there.
This was a lack of competence, creativity and lack of trying on the part of the technician, and an exorbitant estimate for unnecessary work. 5 stars for the folks at Planet Plumbing: especially Russ, Ben and Andrew! We've called Planet Plumbing for all our plumbing needs over several projects and emergencies too.

Very professional, timely I did an excellent job!!! I defitnely recommend their service My property manager was notified of a leak in the kitchen faucet and called Planet Plumbing. The plumber diagnosed the leak and determined the faucet needed a new cartridge and got approval to replace cartridge.
The bill was $505 for that simple fix. A year later that entire faucet had to be replaced and it cost only $367 by a handyman - which prompted this review.

I had planet plumbing come out to reseat my toilet. The price was about a hundred dollars more than the quote, which was fine.
I asked for an itemized receipt for insurance (the one they gave me just had a lump sum, no explanation) and they said it was impossible, acted like I was asking for something really complicated. THEN, the toilet seat ended up rocking all over the place and leaking, so I had to bring in a different, more capable plumber, and pay the same amount again to them :( I've had good luck with them in the past, perhaps there have been changes in the past few years in management or something.

I give them an A+++ review! We have a 70 year old house in Longmont and with it came 70 year old plumbing. When we incidentally found a leak in the sewer pipe in the crawlspace (while dealing with problems with an outdoor faucet) we called Planet Plumbing.
They sent someone to assess the problem right away, making sure we were up and running before the proper repairs were made. Chase and Josh came to the rescue and these guys knew what they were doing! It took a full day to make the repairs and we knew from the start what the estimated cost would be, even figuring in the "worst case scenario".
These guys were efficient, personable and very neat. Worst case scenario did not happen and Chase and Josh did a wonderful job! The cost was less than we expected to pay, given the amount of work required.

The way I like to judge a service company is how they behave when things don't go according to plan. I hired Planet to snake the drain pipe on my kitchen sink.
What should have been a simple 1 hour job turned into a 3 hour adventure. Details aside, Planet knew that the additional time and (my) cost was, based on a series of unfortunate events, of their doing.
The following day they reached out to me unsolicited and offered me a redo at no cost and a refund from the previous days charges that exceeded the one hour trip fee. I don't begrudge them for my inconvenience, as we all know 'sludge' happens ...I'm just happy to find a company that stands behind their work, and so is my kitchen sink.
My technician, Scott, went above and beyond in helping me with my plumbing problem. He not only had to fix my current issue but repair the bad plumbing job done by a previous individual.

How often do you get someone to come to your home, take a look at your problem, then resolve the issue for minimal cash and ALWAYS ALWAYS provide same day follow up service with a smile? They installed a new toilet, replaced a kitchen faucet and resolved any plumbing problems since The door to the clogged pipecwas broken apart. It apparently was slammed by the very heavy and large piece of equipment David used.
Perhaps too largefor the opening as it's a folding door. They said they would repair or replace as many of the slats have been dislocated and damged.
Subsequently they changed their mind, stood me up and wil not stand behind their offer to fix 5he damage done in my house. The office refuses to provide owner's name and number.

Not someone you want in your home. I have had 3 interactions with planet plumbing, two different plumbers.
One, Johnny, was kind, polite, patient and I would highly recommend him. Unfortunately he was not available to complete the jobs when I scheduled them after the initial estimate.
The plumber they sent instead (whose name I can't recall) gave a completely different estimate for one of the projects and seemed unsure or unwilling to do it. He ended up doing one out of two and argued with me when I explained two plumbers had said the line would need to run through the floor.
He insisted on cutting into the wall. The hole kept getting bigger and he still couldn't do it.
He ended up going through the floor. 3 hours and $445 later, I had a line running to my fridge AND a large whole in my wall I still need to have filled.
(Also, a more experienced plumber from a another company did the first project in less than an hour.) When I called Planet Plumbing a third time because I needed my water heater replaced, I was lucky to get Johnny again. Can you give 0 stars I sure wish I could.

The landlord sends this joke of guy to my house who's an asshole know it all from the start. Tells me the pvc pipe is outside the drain on the floor and leaking into the floor.
It's very obvious this is not the problem, Does nothing and leaves. Next day, what do you know the pvc has been in the proper place whole time and big puddle is back.
The damn landlord sends same idiot who says oh man did the pipe come out place again. Nope because that was never the problem.
Takes A look for 1 Minute or less and says "oh it's the furnace want to look at this. But we don't work on that sorry." Instead of taking a look around AT ALL the first time the asshole tells my wife the first thing he sees and doesn't care at all to fix or even let us know what the problem is until he has to come back.
No apology no care in the world that he could have very easily seen this the first time had he only looked. Save your time and don't deal with this shitty company that DEFINITELY does NOT care about your home or any damage that may happen to it.
WOW I feel so lucky to have gotten to work with Mike from Planet Plumbing - he was SO polite, timely, knowledgeable, and truly went above and beyond all 3 times I had him come help with our bathroom remodel. I have never had such a thorough job done.
He not only completed the work I requested he also made great suggestions on making sure fixtures we purchased were swapped and corrected to make sure we had the right stuff. I would absolutely recommend working with Mike he is magical when it comes to all things plumbing and just a downright great person to work with!!! Mike and crew did a good job installing a new cartridge in my shower.
Unfortunately he initially quoted the price of the cartridge at $100, slightly high but when it came time to finish the job the part was magically 60% more expensive at $160!! This is a part that can be ordered from Amazon for $19. I can't stand B.S.
like this. They were not transparent on pricing with the quote upfront and this was a shortsighted move for a company that won't get my business again.

Bummer! Just OK. They are very nice guys, but did not do a great job on a new tankless water heater install.
When I came to look at the work when they were "done," a number of things had to be reworked to be up to a pretty basic standard of workmanship. Air exhaust and intake pipes were installed haphazardly sticking outside the house at off-angles.
And the plumbing to the water heater itself was sloppily done, apparently because the required parts to do it correctly were "unavailable." After a couple more hours of supervising the corrections we eventually got things somewhat closer to the quality of work that was promised. I give the guys credit for sticking around and trying to make the situation better by relocating a hose bib to compensate for the issue they created when they cut the intake and exhaust holes without first checking for clearance.
I will note, however, that they then tried to charge for the additional work that was necessary to remedy the problem they created in the first place. At the end of the day, it looks similar to what you would expect from a mid-level DIY install.
Functional, but not professionally done. Many of the issues encountered could have been avoided if they had taken a little time to plan out the install before beginning to cut holes, etc.
We've used Planet Plumbing 3 times now, twice for a clogged pipe. They are responsive, efficient and reasonably priced (compared to others in the area).
We were overcharged for the most recent visit, and after an odd call to them (I still don't know who I was speaking with), a manager was to call me back, but never did. However, after working with Laura, who completely understood the situation and the reason for the mischarge, and immediately issued a check for the overcharge of $275.
She was very apologetic and explained the tech that was sent out was very experienced, but new to the company, also that the manager had been away from the office. Things happen, but when a company immediately makes it right, they gain back my business because I know they'll stand behind their work.
Planet plumbing installed a new water heater for us a couple of years ago, and they did a decent job (we thought), although we did have to ask them to return 2x to finish the process (they said they were done, but they were unfamiliar this style & there was more to do). However, when we had them back for a drain clean-out out some time later, we found they had positioned the new water heater in such a way that the clean out could not be accessed at all.
While I think this error could have happened to any plumbing company, it was the way they HANDLED it that was egregious. I called to speak with someone at the office to *calmly* explain what had occurred, the guy literally screamed at me for about a minute, as if I was trying to scam them, when they were responsible for the incorrect work (and have records of said work).
Not a good customer service management technique. I was charged full price for the clean-out fix, and the first worker that came over to perform this work refused to wear a mask (or disclose his vaccination status), citing "freedom" concerns.
Of course people can make up their own mind about this, but NOT when they are coming in a CUSTOMER'S home. My impression is there is a mix of really good, experienced folks here and some less-experienced plumbers too with little training on how to work with customers.
There is a BIG problem with whomever sets the standards for employees (the owner) and how calls are managed. Customer service does take time, and has associated costs, but ignore it at your peril.

We had a serious clogged pipe from our kitchen to our main. Not knowing who to go with, I went with another plumbing company.
They came out and snaked it twice with no luck. They then called in their master plumber who immediately diagnosed our need for a completely new line for $6800 without even scoping the line.
I signed the agreement and they were going to come the next day. Feeling terrible about this, I look them up and they had 1.5 stars mainly for doing with they did to me (going for the big replacement project).
I talked to a friend and he gave me Plant Plumbing contact information. I called and fortunately Planet could come out in a few hours.
At this point, I was just hoping for a better priced total line replacement. But Saul from Planet felt it could be unclogged.
He used a water pressure approach. He and his apprentice could hear water moving downstream past where the line would have been replaced.
Saul said he would never recommend a line replacement without scoping it and proving it needed be replaced. I really feel that we've found an honest and incredibly qualified plumber now! I highly recommend Saul for sure but have also heard good things about Planet as a whole.
Our hot water heater hose cracked and caused water damage. The insurance adjuster was the adjuster was so impressed with Planet Plumbing's response time, documentation, cost, and quality of repair.
Thank you! Great company! 7 days ago we brought company X to address a gas leak at our home. They came quickly, did no work and provided a "guesstimate" and a promised call back with firm dollars and the parts to do the job.
Company X never called back. I called Planet Plumbing.
From the first point of contact on the phone I was bowled over by PP's service orientation and intelligence. They sent Chris to our home.
Chris did the work quickly, cheerfully and without fanfare. We LOVE Planet plumber.
Company X not so much. Plumber claimed we were supposed to call him.
Still had no guesstimate and said he could come out in 2 weeks. A quote for work was requested and representative of the company was unprofessional, lacking in construction expertise and unable to communicate effectively in known construction terms.
Example used excavation instead of demolition. Inappropriate words were said to the client on site and there wasn't any apology or willingness to admit fault by the representative.
Never use this firm again. Best service ever! My water heater pipe had a leak.

I called Planet plumbing who I've worked with in the past they sent out within an hour a fabulous technician by the name of Oliver- Oliver was awesome and was able to splice in a new copper pipe as well as help clean up the water on the floor. Highly recommend Planet plumbing! These guys were able to get out here within and hour.
Extremely professional, we're able to troubleshoot a very tricky leak. Documented everything for insurance I believe the tech we had was 'Dirk'; highly recommended Had toilet leak and $267 later, the toilet was removed and a new riser was put in.
Drain was capped. Floor had to be replaced.
All this was fine. I was told it would be $25 / quarter hour to put the toilet back on.
Called today and they forgot all about it. Had to be another $180 for first hour, starting over again.
Bottom line: I was lied to and they won't own up to it. Will never use them again.

The drain for the shower we were going to use was not adequate and could lead to possible leakage down the road for us and damage the foundation of our home. Even though we had just finished the tile work we decided to start over again fix the problem before it became a major issue and Johnny, the technician from Planet Plumbing gave us great advice and recommended a company to would do this work for us at a reasonable price and within a short period of time.
We have been using Planet Plumbing for years and were very happy with this service along with past repair work on our house and would highly recommend them! We feel lucky to have found Planet Plumbing. We'd been smelling gas and the old plumber dismissed my wife's concerns and was belittling.

They did a job at my house that actually made drainage much worse and the communication & lack of negotiation regarding a solution was far from adequate. The general manager would not call back or take any responsibility for the issues that were created from the work they did.
The plumbers who came out have been great but the follow up with management and the results were far from stellar. I would like highly recommend Planet Plumbing!! We had a small leak on the shut off line on one of our toilets.
Of course this happened during the weekend. We called Planet Plumbing and they were able to send Wesley out Sunday morning.
They charge the same rate on weekends as week days. Wesley gave us an estimate and we agreed to it.
He went and got the parts and was done in a timely manner. We live in a manufactured home so he had to crawl under the house to shut off the water.

Planet Plumbing came out on a Sunday morning to help fix a burst pipe outside. Darren showed up, diagnosed the problem quickly and went above and beyond to ensure it wouldn't reoccur.
Awesome service and with a price that came in less than a third of what their competitor quoted me. Kyle was fabulous! He came over next day for an estimate, was able to commit to the work as soon as we were ready, and completed the work earlier than expected.
Kyle was very nice, straight forward and honest about the valve replacement job that needed to be done. When the valve was completed, and the hole refilled, the estimate was right on with the actual amount.

I was very pleased. Poor communications, and my plumber never came! I scheduled a plumber a week in advance, and was given a 1-3pm window.
I waited at home and called several times during the window to get updates on ETA, and was told he would arrive in the window. Toward the end of the window I got an update call saying they finally reached the plumber (they hadn't reached him before?) and he was running late.

3-4 hours. What?! So I asked if that meant he was coming at 7pm? She again dodged the question and asked if would prefer to reschedule.
I had to eventually say "Are you basically calling to cancel Are you saying he can't come today?" in order to get even a semi-straight answer, which was, at best, along the lines of: "Well we can reschedule for next week." No clarity, no transparency, no apology, no respect, no extra effort to get someone here, and I waited around my house for 3 hours and cancelled all my plans on a workday for nothing. Don't waste your time with this company.
I would have given them five stars, but they surprised us by charging us $195 for a 20-minute visit to unclog a drain. That's too much!!! Ah-mazing.
My family and I have gone without being able to use our sewage pipe for almost a week. Toilets unflushable (and all the disgustingness that comes with that), sink overflowing with dirty dishes, no showers, no handwashing, etc.
All because of BLUE SKY PLUMBING AND HEATING, who came on Monday, informed us we'd have to replace our entire sewage line, and then gave us the run-around all week long and did not make us a priority at all. They called it a 'non-emergency.' Enter Planet Plumbing & Drain.
I called them late last night, they showed up today even earlier than promised, cleaned out the drain at half the cost of the other company - said they wouldn't have needed to take a video - and said there were no indications that the line needed replacement. These guys are honest, dependable, professional, and reasonably-priced.

I would never hire Planet Plumbing again. They installed a tankless system in my home but they lacked the knowledge and experience necessary for the professional installation I paid for.
It took numerous return visits and the support of the manufacture to finally get the system running properly. Further, the installer took the easy route in running the pipe and positioned the pipes below the joists.
Not only did this look sloppy but it has now make the finishing of my basement extremely problematic. Lastly, they refused to honor their written promise of a free first service on the unit.
We were unable to do dishes or laundry and needed Plumber on a Sunday. I called Planet Plumbing because (1) I had used them before and (2) they don't charge extra on the weekend and (3) We were in a pretty desperate situation.

Darren is knowledgeable, hard working and thorough. He made suggestions and took a few minutes to educate me about our older pipes.
