Review and analyze now for company Repipe Specialists - Denver and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''Repiping my house, needed with the original defective polybutylene piping, was a smooth process with Repipe Specialists. During the estimate appointment, the process was clearly explained, and I was able to have the work done within a few weeks after the appointment.
Both the plumbing crew and drywall repatching crew were competent, courteous, and careful to clean up. Project cost was fair, and financing with no interest made payment very doable.
I highly recommend Repipe Specialists for repiping! We had our 71 year old galvanized pipes replaced with PEX. If you're looking for a company that listens to all your concerns and answers all your questions, and does a quality job...look no further! Thanks to Bill , Don, Cheyenne, Johnny, Ully, Remey, Brandon and Chris we had a very positive and stressless experience! We would highly recommend Repipe Specialists for any of your replacement needs! Our 1949 Park Hill home still had its galvanized plumbing when we bought it last year, and while nothing had failed yet we knew it was time to replace it before it did.
We reached out to Repipe Specialists who provided a -very- reasonable quote (well below other estimates, nearly a third of the cost of one estimate we received from one of the 'big name' plumbing companies!), and were quick to get us on the schedule. Don was really friendly, answered all of our questions, and was not pushy or overly salesy, which put us at ease.
The crew (Johnny and Chris) showed up right on time, worked fast, cleaned up well, were friendly and answered all of my plumbing questions, and got the job done within a day (around 8 hours from start to finish!). While this obviously necessitated cutting many, many holes in our plaster (on gypsum board) walls Chris did his best to save as many pieces as possible to patch them (we did not use their patching service as we're lucky to have a friend who does this professionally, but that quote was also reasonable).
The plumbing passed code inspection by the city of Denver, and works great - our water pressure is improved and we're no longer worried about our pipes catastrophically meeting their demise (and flooding our house). The crew also replaced our old shower valve with a new Kohler one, and went to the trouble of replacing the trim kit for us as well (which I had already purchased ahead of time), which was a nice touch.
All in all, we were very happy with our experience with Repipe Specialists and would be happy to work with them in the future if we ever have another home that needs this sort of work. Thank you! I'd proceed with caution.
We had polybutylene in our house which needed to go. I called this company after hearing an ad on the radio.
Spoke to a man who had clearly been practicing his scare tactics for a while, warning me not to go on any vacations until its replaced, who talked down plumbers, insisting that they charge too much and take too many shortcuts, dont have the know how. Etc.
While I don't advocate messing with plumbing yourself unless you're an above average DIYer, I will tell you that all you need to do is buy a DeWalt Pex expansion tool, get enough PEX-A (found at plumbing supply shops like Ferguson) and compression rings and fittings, this is a very doable project for above average DIYers. Plenty of YouTube content available.
I repiped my entire house in a weekend by myself. Just do your research to learn the proper way to use your tools and learn the code requirements for your area.
Everyone else, DO YOUR RESEARCH and find a good contractor. Read every review that you find and collaborate with other homeowners and get recommendations.
Personally I'm not sold on these guys based off of the high pressure sales pitch that I received. Good luck! Re-pipe specialists did a fantastic replacing my pipes, they were corroded and leaking and had low water volume, now it's great, I love it, don't hesitate to call them if you have piping problem! Admittedly, this company didn't do any actual work for us, but my experience with the sales guy Don was pretty awful.
When Don came to my house to provide an estimate, I immediately didn't like him. He was argumentative, he talked too much, he was condescending.
We ultimately hired another plumber for our repiping. That decision was in part in response to Don's pushy sales tactics.
Unfortunately, the other plumber made a mess of the job and about halfway through it became apparent that he needed to be replaced. So I contacted Don.
I figured I could ignore pushy sales tactics if the work quality was good. He brought out his buddy Bill to review the work that was done.
He emphasized repeatedly that they couldn't salvage any of the first plumber's work and that it would all have to be redone. I told them repeatedly that's exactly what I wanted to do because I didn't have any confidence in the first plumber's work anyways.
Bill and Don advised me to make a clean break with the old plumber so as to avoid any legal issues before scheduling work with Repiping Specialists. While I was waiting for the City to cancel the permit under the first plumber, I thought I'd check in with Don to get a better sense of how Repiping Specialists went about laying Pex.
I didn't want to end up with the same mess. I had very few, but specific questions: Do you use 90-degree L fittings or corner brackets? Do you connect lines via a manifold? Do you map out the lines before beginning work? After getting burned by the last plumber, I wanted to make sure I was doing my due diligence.
I explained all of this to Don. Don didn't seem to understand the purpose of my questions.
He complained that I wanted "very specific answers to not very specific questions." Huh? He seemed annoyed with my questions. In addition, he was constantly hinting at the possibility of the job being significantly more costly than was originally quoted.
Finally, I asked him outright why there would be an increase in cost? He said the price change was because they would have to pull out all the Pex that was placed by the first plumber. Huh? Wouldn't you have to do that anyway? No, we would just abandon the old copper.
Well, can't you just abandon the old Pex? Honestly, I can rip it out myself in about an hour. At this point, Don became very hostile.
He accused me of being "difficult" and said he didn't want to do business with me. I explained again that I was just doing my due diligence so to avoid another mess and that I didn't understand why the price would change.
I explained that I had been burned and was more cautious as a result. But all of my explanations were wasted on Don.
I am a naturally curious person who asks questions for clarification, but it seems in this case, my questions were not welcome and were even found to be threatening. I'm not sure why, though I suspect it has something to do with my gender.
Unfortunately, I still have need of a plumber. This would've been a $9,000 job.
I wish I would have read these reviews before I signed a contract with this company. I've had a horrible experience.
I didn't realize that this is simply a promotional company that sends out a sales manager to give you a quote and get you to sign a contract. Then, you get scheduled with a plumbing subcontractor that does the work but there is a lot of communication that gets lost in the transfer.
I was clear about planning this work as part of remodeling my main floor bathroom, kitchen and my basement bathroom-utility room combo. When Don, the Repipe rep, came out I clearly communicated this.
What he failed to communicate to me was that in order to bring everything up to code I would need additional plumbing work done in order to pass the inspection. I only found out this information later from Bill, the plumbing manager, AFTER I had already signed a contract for the repiping and the sizable deposit had been charged to my financing account that I applied to through Repipe Specialists.
This meant that I would be paying an additional $3-4K out of pocket for other plumbing work. I won't take the time to narrate here everything that has transpired, but I will say that Don has been pushy, rude, and extremely condescending.
Do not do business with this company. Find a local, knowledgeable plumber to do your Repipe.
If I could have cancelled the job with this company and worked directly with Bill, I believe everything would have gone much more smoothly. Absolutely terrible experience with this company.
A salesperson named Don came out to our house to give a quote for repiping our kitchen and bathroom. We were talking with him about the timeline, and he assured us to get the repiping done as soon as possible and begin the repiping work before we began remodeling.
We thought that sounded weird but he assured us that the repiping work had to be completed before we took any walls down. When the plumbing crew came out to begin the work, they said they were there too early and that the room had to be demoed and framed out before they could begin work.
They weren't surprised in the least to hear that Don had given us this wrong advice, and that he was a salesperson who was trying to get us booked as soon as possible. When Don was made aware of this issue, he simply blamed us and called it a miscommunication.
He was hostile and took no accountability for his wrong and dishonest advice. When dealing with Repipe they didn't seem to care whatsoever about our experience or the fact that the mistake of their team caused this issue.
The whole thing felt like we were being taken advantage of just for them to get a down payment. This company is dishonest and has absolutely no regard for your home or your timeline.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! Repipe Specialists replaced all of the aging copper in our house built in 1963. Our old copper pipe was starting to fail with a few small pin hole leaks developing in the system over the last few years.
We contacted Repipe Specialists and from start to finish they were very professional, competent and gave a very competitive bid. Our install was done in a crawl space with a couple of obstacles to overcome.
The installing crew did a great job. They were very personable as well as finishing the job in about 7 hours.
They were also very considerate of keeping the dust and debris to a minimum and cleaning up after themselves during the process. The water was shut of for just a couple hours so there was really no disruption to the household during the day.
I highly recommend them to anyone needing this type of work done in your home. These guys do very good work, they are professional, and they work very efficiently.
Our entire house was Repiped in one day and they left minimal holes to be patched. I highly recommend Repipe Specialists.
I already had one pipe start leaking on me. In which I had to replace.
So I figured I look into repiping my house, because my House is over 65 years old And lord knows when the rest would go. I called Repipe just to get an estimate on what it would be to replace my whole system.
Best price I received. When the day came.
The plumbing crew was great. The lead plumber went over every detail with Me.
They were in and out in one day! These guys are phenomenal. I had 65 year old galvanized steel pipes I needed replacing.
I contacted 4 plumbers about the job, and not only was repipe's quote the lowest, they were also the most thorough and easy to work with. They did the entire house in a day (the work was contracted out to Just Plumbing, and they did a fantastic job).
There's the old addage of "you can have a job done 3 ways, but you have to pick two: fast, good, and cheap", but apparently you just get all three with Repipe Specialists. We were one of the first customers of this local branch and had a relatively complex repipe.
The house is 100 years old and had some quirky features that made it difficult to run new pipes and determine where the old pipes ran. Yet the subcontractor we got did an excellent job of finding clever ways to make things work.
My only complaint is that a couple of pipe retailers came loose due to the use of nails on our old plaster/lath construction, which can crumble when cracked. But overall, good job, guys.
All aspects of our experience exceeded our expectations . Don provided our estimate and was very knowledgeable and explained our options as well as what to expect .
Bill and his repipe team were very professional, kept us updated throughout the process, and kept the disruption to a minimum. Once the drywall repair was completed by Edward, the location of the work was undetectable.
We are very happy with the efficiency and workmanship provided. We had a good experience with Repipe Specialists from the start when Don came out to explain how it all worked and wrote up a job order to all of the team that worked on our repiping.
Bill and his team were great. We especially like Edward the plaster guy.
He came in and got down to business and you can't even tell where the holes in the walls and ceiling were. What a professional.
The reason that I didn't give all five stars is that we had a leak under the kitchen sink that wasn't there before. Bill made it good after we discovered it two days later.
We also have a problem with our sprinkler system. It doesn't want to work now.
It worked perfectly on Tuesday morning and now my husband can't figure it out. Our home was built in 1943, so the pipes were galvanized steel.
Over time water pressure was a problem. We had a sprinkler system installed Oct.
2019, well in the spring we turned the system on and there wasn't enough pressure. (We were told by the people who installed the sprinkler system that the pressure was fine).
If someone was in the shower, you couldn't turn the water on anywhere else in the house. So we decided that we had to do something since we spent all that money on our sprinkler system.
We was doing a little bit of shopping around and Repipe Specialist had the best price by far. The young men showed up on time, told us what they were going to do and each of the 4 men took a task and they finished up by 5 PM.
The inspector came out the next day and the following day the wall patch crew came out and did a excellent job on patching but they could do a little better job at clean up. Water pressure water pressure everywhere.
Thank You very much Repipe Specialist. Avery, Hose, Devin and Chris My initial contact from Repipe Specialists was pleasant and professional.
When speaking to the estimator they were still pleasant but openly assumed that plumbers I had previously spoken to were going to use an inferior product or technique. I just don't appreciate when I'm spoken to like I don't know what I'm talking about.
I feel Repipe Specialists did a good job on re-piping my home. They took took an extra day then originally thought due to the old lath and plaster of my walls.
They worked very hard, were professional and cleaned up after themselves. I am happy with the tankless water heater they put in and that I now have proper water pressure.
The re-texturing did not look good, but they came back out and re-did it. I do recommend them.
Yesterday I gave these guys one star in my review but I have since revised it due to our interaction today. First, you should know that RePipe Specialists is a sales organization, and they subcontract the actual plumbing work to another company.
We contracted with RePipe Specialists to replace polybutylene piping in our home. The repiping was done by their subcontractor in two days which was great, but we were somewhat unhappy with the way the subcontractor did some of the terminations (the water heater and toilet terminations were making it hard for our drywaller to repair the drywall).
But these problems were easy to fix, so I called Don (the sales guy at RePipe who signed the contract) and asked him to send someone to fix the problems. A week ago someone from the subcontractor came to the house and agreed that the issues we had were legitimate and agreed to fix them.
Then, yesterday, he came back to the house and refused to fix all but one of our issues (he didn't even bring tools needed to so the repairs). In addition he made snarky comments about our home, implying that the value of the home just wasn't worth the trouble to get the plumbing right.
Because he refused to fix all the issues, our drywaller was unable to complete his work. In frustration I called Don at RePipe and I also called the subcontractor's office, but neither seemed to want to deal with the problems.
Because RePipe Specialists and the subcontractor are not the same company I felt like both were trying to blame the other. There was no one I could talk to who would say "the buck stops here".
I was angry that both organizations were seemingly not willing to stand by their work, and so I wrote a terrible review. That was yesterday.
Today, though, Bill (the supervisor at the subcontractor) came to our house and he fixed all the problems. According to my partner who interacted with him, Bill was very helpful and actually went above and beyond, helping us with additional concerns.
Our drywallers are now able to complete their patching, and we are back on track. I really wish RePipe and their subcontractor had been so helpful from the start, it would have saved us much emotion and frustration.
Had they helped us this much in the first place and I'd have given them 5 stars. In the end, we are happy with their work, I just wish it hadn't been so hard to get there.
If Don said it - don't believe it! Don - a salesperson - came to our home and quoted us for a re-pipe. We were in the early stages of renovation, walked him through our plans, and he said they could do the job (about $4k for a 1,300 sq.
ft house). Done explicitly instructed us that they would come into the house as is and do the repiping.
We found that odd, because we had not framed out all of the remodel. we then waited 2-3 weeks for them to come out and do the job.
When they finally arrived, the actual plumbing company (not repipe specialists, they just sell you!) came out and told us we needed to have demo'd the walls and framed out our entire renovation. We now have lost 3 weeks on our schedule, and then when I called Don (the aforementioned salesperson) - he said "well are you talking to the english crew or all the mexicans?".
After his racist comments, he blamed us for their clear transgression, and refused to work toward a solution. Now the company does not want to return a down payment because they are flagrantly mismanaged.
DO NOT RECOMMEND Our REPIPE experience did not meet expectations. After reading many Angie's list reviews (very positive), plus testimonials on the REPIPE website, and talking with the sales rep who quoted our job, we were anticipating things to happen differently than the actual experience.
In short, the repipe project did not go like it was portrayed on the website and from the sales rep. REPIPE turned out to be like many other contractors we have used.
They make great promises but did not deliver on all promises. If you wish, you can use REPIPE...just temper you're expectations.
REPIPE is not as special as their marketing promises. The crew arrived on Wednesday and scoped the work.
The team lead was Dennis Hamill. The crew stated to us that they want to stay as long as needed to finish and we wanted that too.
Later in the day when the work was near completion, we looked at the work and saw there were two repiped areas where the work was not satisfactory to us. This is where things got a little testy for us and the crew.
Our request to repipe an area was met with resistance. What we were asking for was that we thought the work could have been done in a different way with the pipes in a less constrained condition.
One of the crew was not open to doing something different and was resistant. So we went to discuss further with the team lead Dennis, and he agreed to do something different with the repipe.
Next the team lead asked if some of the crew could come back tomorrow to re-do the work. Also, it was asked if they could clean tomorrow too.
Well, it felt uncomfortable at this point (felt a little pressured as the team lead mentioned that he wanted to get home to his family...we felt a bit pressured to let them go and come back). Also, it turned out that Dennis had other plans the next day and could not return.
So the other two crew members would return without Dennis. We agreed to let them come back to repair and clean.
This was not the best decision to let them go without cleaning. We didn't realize how much mess there was.
We chose to clean up ourselves that evening as there was too much debris and dust. We later that evening changed our mind about having the crew (without the team lead) come back as we thought their resistance to repairs was not in our interest; and we decided it would be better to have Dennis do the repair work.
We asked our sales rep to arrange it so Dennis could come back by himself. Since Dennis could not make it back until Monday, we subsequently met with Dennis and the sales rep on the following Monday.
Dennis agreed to come back that Friday to do the repairs. So now, the two repairs were done to our satisfaction and the work is complete.
Because of the scheduling difficulties of the team lead and the two areas that needed to be redone, it took several days to get through it (started on Wednesday and finished 7 work days later on a Friday). Also, as mentioned before, the job site cleaning was not done after the first day.
We later were told by our sales rep that the crew perceived that we were anxious to have them leave that evening (or they felt they were there too long, or whatever the reason...we aren't sure why). We never said anything to them about hurrying up.
So we are not sure where this perception came from. I recall making a comment to one of the crew "that it's not good to hurry the cook" and that we don't want you to hurry the repipe work.
Somehow, there was some miscommunication happening. We were puzzled.
Whatever the reason, this led to the crew leaving the site not cleaned and asking if they could clean the next day. In hindsight, we wish we had known that there was an event the next day that prevented the team lead being there both days.
We would have scheduled the work on a different day to ensure time available in the event an extra day was needed. From our past experiences with contracting work, we have learned that having the desired craftsmen on the job site can make a difference in the result.
(We've been burned on this in the past.) Our experience was a mix of some good and some bad. We were not as satisfied with SOME of the work performed by the other two crew members.
We found that we were satisfied with the work after Dennis made repairs. Work scheduling with availability of the team lead was also part of the reason the work schedule was stretched over several days.
Finally, some communication breakdown occurred, and we're not sure what happened there. Finally, a last comment.
After posting this review, we realize we can expect a defense of the events, including some assertions about "he said...she said" and others. We don't debate that REPIPE will disagree with us.
We accept and expect that. We only are telling you what happened with us as honestly and accurately as we can.
You can make your own choice of contractors. Honestly, we cannot highly recommend them as it would be dishonest on our part.
First of all these guys don't do the work. They hire someone outside of the company to do the work.
So when the sales guy comes out he promises you all these thing they can do. If you live in a condo complex then they can't always do everything.
So you end up paying for things that can't be done. It might be different in a house, but in a condo its not.
I gave them two stars since the people they had do the work did a good job. But they couldn't do everything that was promised.
If you live in a condo then maybe you should call some plumbers or someone that does remodeling. Great job, well done! Good guys worked well together.
Nicely done, fast and everything works great! Could not be happier. These guys exceeded all my expectations.
Price was less than half the other quotes and the workmanship and quality of product are excellent. Don, Carter and Dennis all did an outstanding job.
Started on time. Finished, including drywall and cleanup, ahead of schedule.
I usually just do projects myself because I'm always frustrated with missed timelines and expenses. Wish this company did other house repairs.
My home had the old galvanized pipes, built in 1958. I'd mostly noticed water color issues, water pressure hadn't been too bad.
Once the new PEX pipes were installed though, I didn't realize how much water pressure I was missing, particularly in the master shower! They subcontract out to other plumbing companies, but I was very pleased with the work and the workers - they know what they are doing and are friendly. The best part was getting an option to run the lines through the floor of my one level ranch with a crawlspace instead of going back through the walls.
Inspector came out and approved with no issues at all. Drywallers were here they next day.
There were 2 spots they couldn't fix due to the old pipes sticking out/the toilets being in the way, but I'll deal with those later and overall the patching was done nicely as well. Definitely no complaints about the service from beginning to end.
Every one was communicative, friendly, helpful and did a great job. Thanks team! I hired Repipe Specialists to repipe my 55-yr.
old house. My main goal was to get rid of ALL the galvanized pipe.
The salesman, Don, inspected my home and gave me an estimate of $5,100, the work to be done in 1 day. The work was subcontracted to Just Plumbing, Inc.
The 3 plumbers who came (including two master plumbers) were proficient, hard-working, and pleasant to have in my home. They deserve 5 stars.
But at the end of the day, they discovered that a bathroom that had been remodeled had not had the galvanized pipe replaced, as Don had assumed. (This would have been apparent if he had poked his head up into an existing hole in the basement ceiling, or stuck his phone up there and taken a photo.) The head plumber called Don for advice.
Don then called me, saying it would cost an additional $2,000+ for Just Plumbing to repipe that bathroom. I refused and tried to compromise, but Don would not negotiate.
I asked to speak to Don's supervisor, and he said that wasn't possible. So Just Plumbing left, and I then had to hire my own plumbers to finish the repipe job the following week.
The additional work cost less than half of the $2,000+ that Don quoted me. I have nothing but positive comments about Just Plumbing Inc., but Repipe Specialists' refusal to negotiate the price for the additional work made me subtract 2 stars for this review.'''.
