Review and analyze now for company Save Home Heat and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''Save Home Heat got me out of the heat. We use them for support and maintenance of our home HVAC system and they have always been easy to get a hold of and provide great service.
Recently my office Mitsubishi Mini Split AC failed. I called Save Home Heat and they scheduled an appointment with me a day later, Jeremy came right on time, diagnosed the problem, gave me a fair price to repair the system, after I accepted the charge he began fixing the issue.
Within 2 hours the system was up and running, providing cool air to the office. Thanks SAVE HOME HEAT!!!! I so much, want to give this company a 5 star review.
Their customer service is very good. Their technicians and services were great.
They are over all a good company. However, I live 7 miles outside of Boulder in the foothills.
They charge a "Mountain Fee" of $125 over and above the cost of the visit to come to my house. Even on a sunny day in good weather.
Apparently we are 32 minutes from their office. Yet 32 minutes in the opposite direction does not incur a fee.
$125 is a lot of extra money, almost half again what the cost of the visit would have been. That makes me feel taken advantage of and leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
So sadly, I will have to use someone else. Ray and Jake were very personable, knowledgeable, and helpful.
They arrived exactly when expected. Cost was reasonable for service provided ($75 service for visit is fair game these days).
Save home heat recently responded to a leaking faucet request. They were prompt and courteous and kept us informed of some unavoidable delays.
we even got an e-mail/text on Sunday to verify an appointment. their solution and charges were very fair.
Lockharts A company that works with you to find a solution to your problems. They identified my kitchen faucet issues quickly and help me get it resolved.
I had a great experience! my technician, Jeremy, was competent and pleasant. I fully understood the issues and was given all info to make the best choice to fixing my A/C.
And when Jeremy left, I had a working unit! Our 20-year old furnace died on a Tuesday morning. I called SHH and requested a service appointment ASAP.
Byron was able to come out that afternoon and did a great job; he was prompt, friendly and once he quickly diagnosed the death of the fan motor, was able to set up a visit with Chris (on his day off) to discuss how to proceed. Chris went over several options thoroughly and assured us he could have us back in business by Wednesday evening.
Mitch and Mike arrived promptly on Wednesday morning, equipped with snow shovels and salt to help clear our steep driveway in order to get their materials up to the house. They worked throughout the day, repeatedly assuring us that we would have heat by the evening.
Sure enough, by 4:00, they had the new furnace hooked up and the heat was back on. They came back promptly on Thursday morning to finish up a few minor details that were left over.
I can't say enough good things about SHH and the people I dealt with, especially Mitch and Mike. This company has been a joy to work with, from install to maintenance! I highly recommend their reliable service!! Always excellent service with Save Home heat.
I have been a customer for over twenty years, and never have I been disappointed. Technicians are knowledgeable and explain process.
I highly recommend the Save Home Heat team. We have used Save Home Heat for various projects for about 20 years.
They serviced our very old hot water (boiler) heat system until it needed replacing. The timing was right to upgrade to a high efficiency model which we did.
However the technology was new then and the furnace worked well for some years but did not last as long as predicted industry wide. After researching online, I discovered it was not worth repairing anymore as the brand was no longer in business and it would be impossible to get parts.
We upgraded to a newer model of a longer running company. That turned out quite well, though it has more electronics and does sometimes need some fixes.
This most recent repair though had nothing to do with the newest furnace and everything to do with the 1979 remodel that installed the zone system throughout the house to be able to heat the addition and a better system for the original part of the house. One of the valves in one zone component had failed.
I called Save Home Heat and they gave us an appointment for today. A service tech who had been here before was able to do the repair as he carries many traditional parts on the truck.
It is now running well. We have also bought some ductless AC units (mini-splits) from this company a few years ago as our house had no central air and it could not be installed as we do not have ducts since we do not have forced air heat.
It is a great solution. They service those too and most, but not all of the house can be cooled well enough, now that summers are so hot here.
We have lots of shade trees that had been sufficient until a few years ago when climate change brought us summers so warm. They are a good company to work with though they do get busy, so it is not always easy to get a tech as quickly as this time but they have never left us without heat in severe weather.
All of these units do require advanced tech from their staff so it is not an inexpensive fix but it is also necessary to do right. The phone staff has aways been accommodating and the sales people knowledgeable.
I started with the company founders who are now all retired but the newer staff does just as well. We have used Save Home Heat extensively during the last 5 years and they have been able to address and resolve issues in a complex house that other companies were not able to address.
I have used them to repipe our whole house, replace gas lines, replace HVAC systems, fix hot water circulation issues as well as complete a lot of maintenance work. They always show up reliably and do quality work.
Extremely over priced. I had a small issue which start to finish was less than 15 min to fix and I was charged $225.
Ridiculous would never use them again or recommend this service The service individual, Byron, evaluated my AC during its annual checkup and determined that the fourteen year old unit was ailing. He laid out the options in an understandable manner.
(1. cross fingers and hope for the best, 2.
replace condenser and give the girl a few more good years, 3. replace entire AC system and upgrade to current energy efficiency standards) I picked door number 2 and the scheduling and ordering of parts was seamless.
Thanks for the professional work. Save Home Heat was excellent at every step of the process.
They provided us with good information about options and pricing for a furnace and water heater, were prompt on scheduling the installation, and their technicians did a terrific job installing a new furnace and water heater quickly and efficiently. All of their personnel are friendly and professional.
I would strongly recommend them to all of my friends, I have only had good experiences with them! The Save Home Heat team helped us convert the idea of a split unit into an installed reality in a matter of a couple weeks! Installing one in our home required some creativity, due to some unique features. Brandon figured it out, got us a very fair estimate, and had a crew here in a matter of days to do the install.
We are looking forward to some nice cool summer evenings thanks to this project. I recommend this company.
What a crazy day! Discovered our heat furnace wasn't working. Save Home Heat was totally booked, but one of their top employees stopped by to see if it was something quick.
It wasn't, so he loaned us 3 small personal heaters to get us through the weekend. Then, because one of his next clients didn't need as much time, this employee returned to our home, replaced the motor, and got our heat running.
What damaged the motor??? A bird, which had made its way from the outside vent all the way to the motor (about 5 feet)! This also explains the smell which had started several months ago, but I could never find what I thought was a dead mouse. Big shout out to Save Home Heat and their incredible employee, Gab! Our 22-year-old furnace was making an unusual sound.
Dakota arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. He was courteous, informative, and knowledgeable--and did not try to upsell us.
EXCELLENT! After two service calls, it is my pleasure to have met Jeremy. He is a great asset to your company.
He did a great job repairing the A/C and added much value as he fine-tuned our HVAC system. Hard to believe this story but while he was at my house, a cold water pipe (which had been leaking for who knows how long) burst and flooded our lower level.
Jeremy said he was (also) a certified plumber and he was willing to work until the problem was solved. He checked all the hose bibs outside.
No leaks. Checks all the HVAC intakes on the main level.
No visible leak. Back downstairs to the lower level and Into the ceiling searching for the leak.
Using shears, he cut a window through the duct and put an iPhone and flahlight into the void and recorded video. Jeremy heard water spraying.
Before long he had located the leak, cut out a section of bad pipe and replaced it. All in a days work.
I'm sure the rest of the "mitigation" will not go as well. Photos and videos have been taken.
These people are the best. Been using them for many many years.
Responsive, efficient and friendly! EXTREMELY OVER PRICED!!! The plumber who came to my house to fix a frozen pipe, was super nice and did a good job. But the company, Save Home Heat money gouged me during a week of frozen pipes, extremely low temperatures and very few plumbers to do the work.
Don't work with them. We just had our mini-split installed by SHH.
The whole process from getting the quote to the installation was seamless. They installed our unit exactly where we wanted it, and I am very happy with how it's working.
They took care to keep things covered around the house and also cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. I'll be going back to SHH for future HVAC needs and will be recommending them to our friends.
Save Home Heat replaced our 40 year old boiler for our baseboard heating system (how did it last 40 years?) in late January, after Boulder's recent cold spells found our system wanting. Jeremy provided a thorough and well explained estimate of repair vs.
replace. We opted for replace and Jeremy and Dustin finished the job in one day after the parts arrived a week later.
Their work was very professional and I was very happy with the results. Jeremy explained in detail how the new system worked and answered all my questions (as retired engineer I had a lot).
We have used a lot of contractors over the years for our home, and I have no reservations in saying that Save Home Heat is one of the very best. I could not remove the gaskets of my older bath room faucet and my kitchen faucet had an annoying and expensive drip.
Save Home Heat came and not only replaced my faucet gaskets - but we wound up changing the faucets themselves as they were so far gone they could not be prepared. The extra nice piece is they also changed the water valves under both these sinks so I can easily use them.
That is so great because my water main is one floor away. Yes, they returned once I purchased the new faucet and again did an excellent installation.
All the techs were pros and very professional. I would use their plumbing services again.
We had a mini split system installed from Save Home and it could not have gone better. From the estimate, to the final signature, everything went very well.
The estimator was very knowledgeable and passionate about the product and the installation. There was no high pressure sale pitch.
Everyone was punctual and courteous. The installers worked efficiently.
I would recommend this company to anyone. Thanks for the great service.
Save Home Heat is the kind of company you wish every service provider would be. Top quality work, attentive professional installation and follow-up, proven and reliable super-efficient equipment, and a company ethos that is dedicated to meeting their customers' needs.
Our two old clunker A/C systems were both failing. We were interested in replacing them with heat pumps and found Save Home Heat, described as a local expert in heat pumps in an article in a local online magazine.
Our experience started with their sales rep (now co-owner) Chris, who came to our home, did a detailed analysis based on technical measurements of heating and A/C space and requirements, then laid out four different heat and A/C configuration solutions. Each option was fully explained, and each quote detailed exactly the costs and applicable rebates/discounts.
We chose the heat pump solution and are so pleased with the result. The work: Installation techs were professional, showed up when scheduled, kept the work area clean, and did a fantastic and neat job.
The products: SHH is a Lennox Premier dealer/installer, and we chose our products well, starting with Lennox's most efficient top-rated heat pumps. This was a huge job and a significant expense, but we viewed it as an investment in our home.
We feel we really got our money's worth - you get what you pay for in the quality of equipment (from heat pumps to furnaces and high-tech thermostats, all Lennox) and the work (ductwork included). Now, here's the proof: a full nine months later, I called Chris to sheepishly admit I was having difficulty locating the filter cabinet in the attic furnace.
He came by, took a look, and sent photos showing how to access the filter by opening the furnace cabinet's blower chamber. Fine, that was helpful.
But a few minutes later he wrote a follow-up email stating "I think we can do better. Could we come back and reconfigure the ductwork some to put in a better filter cabinet? At no cost to you." The tech came that same week, the reconfiguration took several hours, but the result is an upgrade from a standard 1" filter tucked inside the blower housing to a new easy-access filter chamber housing a 5" filter (much better filtration than a simple 1" filter).
Again, professional work, neat and tidy. All at no cost, simply because Chris felt they could do better, and it was important to him that his company give his customers the best they could provide.
I followed up by enrolling in their annual maintenance program; we want to protect our investment and of course we would use the company that has already proved itself to have our best interests in mind. You won't be disappointed with Save Home Heat.
The technician was friendly, took pictures of the before and after the work, a picture of the technician is always sent prior to the work and the work done was explained. I have used this company for years.
Save Home Heat takes care of our furnace, A/C, electrical and plumbing. We have used them for over 10 years.
They are professional, courteous and efficient. They seem to be current on new equipment and have many internal experts to confer with as well.
We have had 3 central A/C units installed, 2 furnaces, whole house fans, whole house air purifier, whole house surge protector and electrical work over the years. We have always been better than satisfied.
We have recommended them to many others over the years and they have also been very pleased. 5 years and two months ago Save Home Heat installed a Rinnai tankless hot water heater in our home.
At the time we had 9 people living in the house - all three sons had decided to return home with wives and girlfriends while they each sorted out their lives. Go figure.
The water heater never blinked and countless showers and loads of laundry later it stopped working because of a glich on the controller board. Russ Hollar did the initial install and he did the troubleshooting on this problem.
The Rinnai was two months out of warranty and the controller board wasn't available anywhere in the US for over a month. Weeks of cold showers weren't going to work for my wife (I was ok with it, so there's that).
We worked with Russ, Save Home Heat, and Rinnai to convince Rinnai to send us a replacement heater and get the install done at a very reasonable price. Happy wife, happy life.
Thanks Russ! We had a furnace blow out after a flooded basement, and Save Home Heat was the only company available to respond within the day. The repair man was incredibly kind, empathetic, and professional.
He went out of his way to make sure we got taken care of the day we needed to so that we don't have to go without heat in the middle of winter. Thank you! Given Save Home's harsh and defensive response to my justified dissatisfaction with paying $175 for nothing, I stand by my negative review.
This company advised that I spend $2600 to clean a $2500 AC system that was working fairly well. Buyer beware! We had problems with an outdoor timer that other electricians hadn't been able to fix.
Their crew solved it quickly and for a reasonable cost. I've used Save Home Heat for many years and have always received good service.
This is the first time that we have used Save Home Heat. Our furnace was acting up.
I called in and was able to speak to a dispatcher right away. I was able to schedule a technician right away to suit my schedule.
Byron was dispatched to our home and took time to thoroughly diagnose the problem. He clearly knew what he was doing and discussed the problem with me.
He cleaned our furnace and made some adjustments. I did not get the feeling like I was sold anything that wasn't necessary.
Byron was very professional and friendly. Save Home Heat is now my go-to company for HVAC issues.
Our water heater started leaking and Save Home Heat was able to get a technician out to me within a couple of hours. The technician arrived on time and was very professional.
He explained exactly what was going on with the water heater and how best to proceed. He removed the old water heater and installed a new one all under four hours - same day! Amazing! Personable professional knowledgeable excellent experience gave me a lot of alternatives to my situation liked doing business locally A rock solid, reliable company that has been around for years.
If anything is not right, which I doubt, they will come back and fix it. Reliable, skilled, and friendly.
Bryan came by and throughly inspected our property. He took time to show me our current heating/cooling system & all the details about how it works.
He explained exactly what improvements he would recommend & how they could be carried out. His engineering background was obviously put to good use in setting up the right systems.
Save Home Heat and Nick Lackey have helped us out a few times with plumbing issues. They recommended a remediation company and quickly made the repairs we needed.
They went to extra mile replacing a few additional items so we wouldn't have to call again and cleaned up after the job. I also appreciated the text messages regarding their arrival and departure.
They value your time and communicate well! Recently had Save Home replace our furnace and A/C. Very prompt and professional from providing needs assessment to proposal to installation.
This is the second time I've used Save Home and would highly recommend. We had problem with humidifier leak.
Save Home Heat technicians, Mitch and Ricky, came on the same day that we got the estimates to replace the old humidifier with an upgraded model. The installation was completed in two hours.
They were professional, knowledgeable, efficient, and personable. We're pleased with their service and had signed up for Save Home Heat's annual maintenance plan.
A very thorough evaluation of the air conditioning needs for our home. Fully & clearly explained the various components and options.
Tech went out of his way to locate the thermostat with minimal drywall disruption. He wore booties whenever he came into the house from the garage and a mask at all times.
Very professional and courteous. I also spoke with a client support person to set up an annual maintenance contract and she was equally knowledgeable and helpful.
I highly recommend this company for HVAC needs. Save Home Heat has been our HVAC contractor of choice for many years.
We also purchased our new AC and furnace from them. Their technicians are extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
There seems to be little turnover as we often see the same heating AC and plumbing contractors for regular service. We love the routine maintenance packages that Save Home Heat offers.
They are affordable. Well worth the money.
The best service and technical knowledge in Boulder County. It was great working with Save Home Heat.
Our AC wasn't working, and Jesus came out to diagnose it. He let us know that he was on his way, he found the problem, and fixed it in an efficient manner.
He explained things very clearly and gave us information about what to do if future problems came up. He replaced the defective part on the spot and the AC was working again.
It was a pleasure to have Jesus take care of this - he is very knowledgeable and professional! For close to 20 years now, this has been my company of choice for anything to do with our home's HVAC and plumbing. They know their stuff, their techs are professional and knowledgeable, and their prices are reasonable.
We just had our HVAC serviced today, and as usual, Save Home Heat did us proud. Daniel and Francisco were very professional and knowledgeable.
Daniel even found an incipient issue with our water heater and our main water pressure valve, which he was not even required to look at. I asked him how he found the problem, and he said he just always looks at everything when he's in someone's mechanical room.
Nice touch--he prob. saved us a burst pipe or worse down the road because he went above and beyond.
Call this company first; you will not regret it. I've been concerned that my water heater is getting old and I also wanted an estimate on a mini split heat pump.
Chris explained my options to me and wrote up several estimates for each of the options available. He was very patient and I felt very comfortable working with him.
I'm looking forward getting the work done. A very positive experience all around! We spoke to Scott on Monday and Chris came out to give us an estimate that Wednesday.
We needed three a/c units that were scheduled for the following week. Corey and his team of six showed up punctually on the first day of installation.
They were efficient and courteous and clearly enjoyed their work. Together with a great team of two electricians the three day job was completed in two days.
I was pleased with the help I got calling the front desk and Abrielle was quick to organize our Xcel rebate. Altogether I dealt with 14 employees at Save Home Heat and I found their customer service to be exceptional.
It's great to find a reliable company that you know you can continue to use, and Save Home Heat is that for me. Call this company first.
I received AC bids from 2 other companies. Fortunately, I called Save Home Heat last.
They carry the best manufacturers and they gave me a better price. They are complete professionals so I could relax knowing that I was getting state-of-the-art equipment at a fair price.
Next time, I will call Save Home Heat first and skip the other companies. This company has problems with overcharging.
I appreciate some of my experience. I did not appreciate all of it.
The front desk staff can be a little testy which I don't like. They interrupt, are not good listeners and have a tone.
The tech was good the first time. When I discovered, on the second visit, that they charged me hundreds of dollars (I think it was $350) for 10 minutes of his time and a $45 part, I was understandably upset.
The tech's response to my distress was not appropriate. He got passive aggressive which I didn't like.
So, I think this company overcharges and they need to figure out a better way to deal with customers which is unfortunate. Safe Home Heat are great.
Knowledge, informative and just plan nice. Fare pricing as well.
They seem to send Boulders finest mechanics. Look no further .
Furnace went out during cold snap last week right before Christmas. Tried tirelessly to get someone from the company I bought it from 9 months ago to come out and service it through their emergency line.
To no avail. Excuse after excuse.
Snow, 2 wheel drive vehicles, Christmas, etc.. after I had a pipe burst due to no heat I Finally punted and called Safe Home.
They called me back on Christmas Eve and tried to walk me through a fix with a technician. When they came up they were super friendly and knowledgeable.
Got it working. Will always call them from now on.
We called a few HVAC companies in Boulder trying to find someone who could help us evaluate our current system and maybe get a quote for upgrading if needed. Save Home came highly recommended, was helpful and communicative from the beginning, and was able to get us an appointment within a week for someone to come out.
Chris, our technician, called when he was on his way over, about an hour into our two hour window (and even apologized for it being so far into our window!). He came out and looked at our system and gave us a bunch of helpful information about options for making our second floor more comfortable, even telling us we don't really need to upgrade or replace anything yet.
Honest, helpful, on time - we'll definitely be using Save Home in the future! Since getting a new furnace and a/c unit installed last year, Save Home Heat has been exceptional in every way. We've had one service call and one complimentary maintenance engagement since the install.
In each case the tech arrived when we were told they would, and we received emails, texts, and calls when the tech was on the way. The work was done efficiently and with high attention to detail.
We could not be happier with our experience with SHH!!! When I made the decision to replace my furnace and get a heat pump, I decided to start with a bid from Save Home since they have a good reputation. Chris Kellogg spent hours explaining every tiny detail of what would be done.
I felt so comfortable with the presentation that I opted out of contacting other companies for bids. I feel confident that I will be happy with the work when it is done.
Wow! The best HVAC service I've ever had in Boulder! Our heater stopped working last evening. We kept a fire in our fireplace going and called this company first thing in the morning.
The temp has been in the single digits all night and the lady who answered was kind, compassionate, and quick. She got us the first available appointment at 1pm, and then they called to see if they could come early! Timothy called us when he was on his way.
He was clean, efficient, and super knowledgeable. He fixed our problem within an hour and explained the whole process to my husband.
We are impressed! We will be dedicated customers for sure as they offer lots of home repair and consulting services. I just had a new hot water heater installed by Nick at Save Home.
The entire experience was seamless, from the initial quote to the work. Nick explained everything he would be doing and how long it would take.
Recap when he was done and cleaned up after wards. They are a bit more expensive than other quotes but since they also do electrical it was easy just to go with them since they took care of it all.
I am pleased with my experience and recommend this company! Very knowledgeable firm, expensive but thorough; timely repair; may use them to replace A/C I've had them out twice to service my heater and they're always on time, very polite, and able to fix things the first time. Just now they installed a new energy-efficient furnace and air conditioning system in our house.
The team is great - they really know their stuff, and finished the job in record time with no glitches. They were friendly, helpful, patient with all our questions, arrived on time, and they gave us great info on how to use the new technology that came with the new equipment.
They also made sure we signed up for XCel rebates. Highly recommend.
We've used Save Home Heat for our heating and cooling for almost 20 years. This last call was very much like all the others.
I called and they scheduled a tech to come to the house within hours. Tim showed up, mask on, slipped his booties on and got right to work.
He analyzed the issue, told me how much it would be to fix it - a fair price, then left to get parts across town. He called when he was on his way back in half an hour, made the repairs, then explained exactly what he had done and stepped me through how to operate the system with the changes he made.
Professional, courteous, clear, conscientious. About as good as it gets.
I inherited this company from a home sale. They are awesome.
Prompt, friendly, very clean and through. I lucked out finding this service.
Would recommend them to anyone looking for heating or cooling work. Save Home did an AC unit replacement for my elderly mother and her live-in personal assistant, even though the old unit was working fine.
I believe that they conned mom's personal assistant into the R22 scam. R22 scammers insist that after January 1st that R22 AC units can no longer be repaired and must be replaced.
That is a flat-out lie. After January 1st no new R22 freon can be produced, but local HVAC dealers have stocked-up on R22 made last year, and will have enough to make freon fills and replacements for the next 2-3 years.
Moreover repairs that don't involve new freon can be done indefinitely. For whatever reason Save Home personnel talked my mom's personal assistant into the most-expensive new Lennox unit, one that had much more cooling capacity than needed, and which also required a furnace upgrade and a new digital thermostat.
My own Lennox dealer in Lafayette had installed HVAC on the homes in mom's neighborhood when they were new back in the 1990s. He told me later that he could have installed one of Lennox's new less-expensive units with enough capacity for mom's house for less than 25% as much.
So my firm opinion is that Save Home is out to gouge its customers and talk especially elderly women into wildly over-priced and unnecessary repairs. They may also have participated in the R22 scam going around.
If it was me I would call my guy in Lafayette as his work has been great and his cost less than one-quarter of the cost Save Home gouged my elderly mother for. I'm a new customer, signed up for the service plan.
Communication and timelines on the day of service were excellent. This was for a routine check up and all went fine.
Rep was very communicative regarding arrival. He walked me through all my options for a new cooling system and was very responsive to my questions/concerns.
Super efficient interaction and provided estimates for the options discussed within 30 minutes of departing. Save Home Heat is a company that has been in business since the late 1970's.
They have excellent products and service. I have personally seen my bills reduce as I have replaced outdated energy hogs.
Rain or shine they show up, do the work and are clear about cost and how to use the products. Mini split AC purchased from and installed by Safe Home Heat.
Received a prompt and competitive quote, friendly customer service, timely and professional install - would highly recommend! Dave, the owner called to follow up and let me know they would be addressing the issue, much appreciated, thanks Dave! Great experience with SHH recently. Sometimes they are a little expensive comparatively but the service is well worth the extra few dollars.
Everyone they send is polite, friendly and very capable. Save Home Heat installed split-type air conditioners in our home this summer and I have been immensely pleased with the quality of their product (Mitsubishi) and the quality of their service.
I highly recommend Save Home Heat. So very pleased with Save Home Heat! As a newer homeowner, the technicians/plumbers are always happy to answer my numerous questions.
No hidden or extra charges. No suggestions to complete unnecessary or value-additive (for them) tasks/add-ons (unlike Plumbline who tried to convince me/pressure me into paying for $2000 worth of cleaning/maintenance for a 21-month old, top-of-the-line HVAC system the previous owner had installed, that I "desperately needed" and threatened would void my transferred expensive prepaid 10-year warranty if I didn't....
or that I really should get a $3000 upgraded filtration system... etc etc etc.
I hate Plumbline.). The annual maintenance package actually includes what it says it will.
Wow! (Whereas Plumbline removed my filter because it was "dirty" but did not replace it...). When I had an error code, they made a note of it and fixed it during my annual maintenance appointment (as it wasn't critical--Plumbline tried to charge me to have a tech come check on it right away and a diagnostic fee on top of whatever it would have cost to "repair" it!).
Anyway, I can't recommend Save Home Heat enough. Plus they are punctual and always very friendly to my somewhat confused, trying-to-help puppy.
This company is too expensive. $225 to connect a new battery (I provided) for my back up sump pump and take away the old battery.
The job would take 5 or 10 minutes (I've had it done before). Rip-off artists.
They wanted to charge $605 to replace a $58 igniter on my furnace. That's $547 labor for less than one hour of work.
I told the technician to leave without doing the repair. I will never use this company again.
Other HVAC companies in Boulder will do this job for much more reasonable labor charges. I did not have a good experience with Save Home Heat.
I initially called because my thermostat was not turning off my heat, and our heat was stuck on. The technician was polite and professional, and replaced the thermostat in 20 minutes, for which the charge was almost $300! When I wrote to the company to complain, the owner wrote my back a long letter explaining that they needed to charge these rates to run their company, and that part of the charge is because the technician (Gabe) was so experienced and could diagnose a problem quickly.
I felt that the charge was exorbitant and I wasn't happy. We went on vacation for 10 days right after that, leaving the thermostat at 65.
When we got home, the apartment was really hot at 75. I turned the thermostat was down to 52, and realized that it was not turning down the heat.
So, I called back Save Home Heat who wanted me to wait two more days for the same technician to come out. In the meantime we were having to open our windows to be able to let the heat out so we could sleep! I insisted on having someone come out that day, which they were very reluctant to do even though someone was available.
I explained to the new technician what had happened, and he immediately checked the valve on the heating unit that the thermostat was controlling, which he said was old and needed to be replaced. Another $287 charge! If I was charged $287 the first time because the first technician was so great at "diagnosing" problems why did he not test to make sure the thermostat he installed was indeed working with the system? I called again to protest the second $287 charge and was told that they had "waived the trip fees." OK, well when I had first called they said they only charge a trip fee if it is something they can't fix or I decide not to perform the work, so the fact that they "waived the trip fee" didn't mean anything.
In sum, I would not call this company again. Their charges are ridiculous and they don't take responsibility for their mistakes.
Poor customer service! This company installed a new furnace in 2015. Salesperson was great, install was frustrating, 1st on-call service tech was awful, 2nd service tech was great.
Two of the installers were young guys that gabbed like school girls the entire time, which is part of the reason why one forgot to hook up one of the new duct runs, then I had to remind him 3 times to finish the one in the bedroom. The other forgot to replace a cap that caused a small explosion of flame that could have been lots worse if I wasn't standing right there to turn off the gas.
The on-call tech I got on the phone told me it was something wrong with the install so nothing he could do that night and would not be coming out, and to call the company in the morning. The tech that came in the morning, after a night of no heat, saw the cap right away and fixed it in less than a minute.
Luckily, no damage to the unit. One of the owners called me later in the day and asked me how I felt about the on-call tech not coming out.
Perhaps he had done some training that suggested asking women about their feelings is a good thing to do. I found it bizarre in a business conversation.
It seemed like a diversion tactic to take the emphasis off of responsibility for his employee's behavior. The unit and install cost was average and it has run normally for the 2 years we've had it.
I had asked for a quiet one, but the one they picked for us is not quiet and I've had trouble working around the noise. I received the call today to set up the annual maintenance visit and was told this visit is $114 but next time it would cost $199.
Most everyone else is around $150 with frequent discounts that make it $89. I've cut my ties to this company now that their install warranty period is over.
Another furnace service company had been out earlier in the day to work on our humidifier. Several hours after they left, we realized the burners were not igniting in the furnace.
Could not reach the first company - no response to voicemail or email. Tried Save Home Heat; Charles called me back promptly (after hours).
Offered to walk me through some steps to figure out the problem, which he did - problem solved. Saved us the after-hours trip charge.
Will be calling Save Home Heat in the future for HVAC service! Save Home Heat followed up and reimbursed the $100 charge for the diagnostic. Have used SHH for service several times, and they were runner up when shopping for a new furnace.
Good experiences overall, with friendly, thorough, honest, and knowledgeable people. We have found that their prices are inline with other places that do good work in the area.
I called this company to give me a quote to install a furnace humidifier. They came out and gave me an estimated cost.
Then I called and made an appointment to have it installed. The technician never showed up.
So I called to ask what happened, and they said they could re-schedule, but then told me they don't install this model after all. This was a real waste of time and energy.
Perry from Save Home Heat has been fabulous with our air conditioning and furnace repair. Very professional communication from the first call all the way through parts being ordered and final repair set up.
The repair was far less money than buying a new unit. Will definitely be using this company again.
The Save-Home heating service is always great - polite, prompt, clean, thorough - but when I signed the service contract, I didn't realize that they were extending their inspection/testing service to plumbing with no option to keep to heating/AC only. I don't need the plumbing extension because I have had a perfectly fine plumbing service contract with Precision Plumbing for decades.
I can opt out of a particular service, but there's no reduced-cost heat/AC-only service contract and I wish there were. Of course I'll stay with Save-Home anyway - they've been taking care of me for decades, too.
This is an overall update review of my experience with Save Home Heat. I started dealing with them when I selected them to install an expensive Triangle Tube combination heating boiler and water heater unit in my home.
The original installation was done in January of 2013. Well, here we are 2 years later and I think I have a pretty good idea of how this company operates.
I am a Federal Government Inspector and have been known to be very detail oriented so hang in there... The new Triangle Tube installation went well and looks very well done.
The only error I found was one of the new zone control valves was installed backwards which caused banging in the system. This error was corrected within a week of my complaint about it.
Taking everything into account, my first year with the new system was problem free and I was fully satisfied. On the free one year inspection of the unit by Save Home Heat, I was told all is well but I needed a new filter for the condensate that runs from the unit.
$300 for a new filter every year? I did not replace this and found later that it did not need replacement - it just needed to be rinsed in water. Lesson learned, request the Triangle Tube expert for yearly inspections.
Just short of 2 years with the Triangle Tube the issues began. First, no hot water was discovered on 2 different occasions.
Save Home Heat sent repairmen and this was resolved. The Save Home Heat owner agreed to cut the repair bill in half and my cost was under $200.
Then, the real issues began. No heat or hot water.
As a matter of fact, no heat on several occasions in November when the temperatures were well below freezing. I came home from trips to find the temperature inside my home hovering at 50 degrees.
This is when the repeated visits by Save Home Heat servicemen began. They couldn't seem to fix the unit and I actually had to use their portable electric heaters to heat my home one weekend.
Major hassle factor at this point. I was poised to demand a new Triangle Tube unit as this one simply did not function.
Finally, after a persistence I had to admire, Save Home Heat's expert found the likely root cause of the issues. Many parts were replaced, the expansion tank was replaced, the Triangle Tube sales representative was present onsite, and more.
I simply wanted this Triangle Tube unit fixed or replaced. This whole scenario cost me worry and many hours of my personal time.
Save Home Heat made it right. It was obvious to me they were not going to give up on it.
They called in Triangle Tube experts. They sent their own expert on several occasions.
They did what it took to correct the situation. It's been over 2 months now with everything working perfectly.
The unit was out of warranty during all of this and I was quite concerned about the cost of all these repairs. I finally received the very thick envelope containing the repair listings and charges.
I nervously read through the pages looking for the total charge. There it was, hand written on the last page was "NO CHARGE." Wow, here is a company that did the right thing.
Talk is cheap while actions show the real integrity of a company. This company was there to fix the problem and then do the right thing for a loyal customer.
Would I buy another Triangle Tube heating system? Absolutely not. Would I use Save Home Heat again? This is the only company I will use for my heating and air conditioning needs for many years to come.
They do more than they have to and value their customers. What more can you ask for? I just had a Mitsubishi ductless cooling/heatpump system installed by Save Home Heat and their technicians, Kaelan, Remy and Nick did an extraordinary job! I got three quotes for this project and the quote from Brandon at SHH was not only the best price--he came up with the best system configuration BY FAR (more on this below).
This was a huge investment for me and I spent hours meeting these reps and doing my homework online, so you can save yourself some research time and just call Save Home Heat! They are professional, listen to their customers, take pride in their work and work together as a team under challenging circumstances--e.g. working on the roof running lines on a 90 degree plus day.
Regarding the system configuration, Brandon was the only one who could (pardon the overused expression) think outside the box. I was concerned about how the lines would look on the outside wall running to the condenser--I did not want to look up from our small patio where we spend a great deal of time and see the lines but it seemed inevitable since the units 'have to' be mounted on an outside wall.
However, Brandon came up with the brilliant idea to install the indoor units on the boiler room wall inside the house and run the lines through the roof and down the side of the house where all the electrical and other utilities are--and not within view of our patio (HUGE win!). This was not an easy configuration to execute but Kaelan, Remy and Nick were not daunted by the challenge at all.
Further, Brandon clearly has a great deal of expertise with these split Mitsubishi units and patiently answered my endless questions. He was also the only rep who discussed potential rebates from the City of Boulder with me--which they include as a line item right from the get go.
The other two companies never even mentioned rebates(??). Save yourself some time and money and go with Save Home Heat--you will not be disappointed!'''.
