Not knowing whether we had clog in our pipes or a bigger problem with the sewer line, we started searching for plumbers that could address both issues. A Yelp search turned up Ivan Patterson with Patterson Plumbing and Drain.

He's local to us, isn't a part of a big industrial company like Roto-Rooter, and has great reviews, so everything looked promising. I visited his website and using the contact form on that page, I fired off a detailed message of the problem we had.

I woke up shortly before 7:00am to try calling Ivan, only to discover that he had already responded to my message, offering to come by at 9:30am. He arrived a few minutes before the promised time and came in to assess the problem.

Based on what he saw and what we described, he provided a confident assessment of the situation. He recommended a cleanout of the pipes from the kitchen sink area, where grease and debris had surely accumulated over the years.

He felt that this would be sufficient to solve our problem, but offered to snake the tub as well for a small added cost though he didn't think it was necessary. We agreed to a price and he quickly got to work.

He climbed up on the roof and ran an auger through the roof vents above the kitchen and the laundry room, and in short order he cleared the clog and water was draining freely. After he finished, he said again that he didn't think it was necessary to do the tub, but because we knew that a lot of hair goes down that drain, we asked him to proceed nonetheless.

Of course, just as he predicted there was minimal obstruction. Still, we were happy for the added assurance.

Ivan was friendly and polite and explained everything as he did it. He cleaned the augers as they exited the pipes, making sure not to leave a drippy mess on the floor, which we really appreciated.

The cost of his services were reasonable for us. All in all it was a very, very positive experience and I'm quite certain we'll call on him again the next time we have plumbing needs.

I called Ivan to clear a clogged sewer line. Ivan was one of the few plumbers who could go on to our roof and snake the line.

He was very responsive and answered my call and came down within the hour. His price was very reasonable.

After snaking the line, I talked to him about adding a storm clean out, which he told me that a clean out at the back of the house is preferred. He was providing me with an estimate, but as he was looking at the pipes under the crawl space, he saw a pipe extending out of the house.

He checked and showed me that I already had a sewer clean out installed and showed it to me. It was under our deck that we never knew about.

Our home recently experienced a clogged sewage line. After spending some time searching Yelp for a plumber with extensive experience unclogging sewage lines, I chose two to call.

One call was to Patterson Plumbing & Drain Inc. Ivan called back within minutes and set the time to come to our home at 1 pm that day.

He showed up a little early and after assessing the situation propose to snake the sewage line with a reasonable price. I said to go ahead.

He set up his equipment and accessed the sewage line from the roof. He kept me informed during the process and when finished showed me part of the roots that were clogging the drain.

He also suggested that I use Root-X per the directions to kill the roots from any further problems. I could not be happier with his work and professionalism.

Ivan not only solved the problem but save us some money with his honesty and service. Around 9 pm, our kitchen sink suddenly backed up and overflowed while our upstairs shower was running.

After reading Patterson Plumbing and Drain's reviews on Yelp, I called and left a message for Ivan. Ivan called back and we made an appointment for 9 am the next day.

Ivan arrived on time, quickly assessed the situation, confirmed the clog was in the cast iron T, and got to work. It was a difficult clog to reach and took about 2 hours but Ivan got it done! He charged his hourly rate, which was reasonable.

Another plumber quoted $3000 to replace the clogged section of the cast pipe in the crawl space. I wished he was the first person we called.

The cast iron T will need to be replaced eventually and when we do, we will call Ivan for the job. Ivan is going to be my go-to plumber from now on.

Ivan is friendly and knowledgeable, does a thorough job, and cleans up after himself. His prices are reasonable.
