Situation: Sunday morning and the laundry sink is backed up which is connected to the kitchen so there is no cleaning clothes, dishes, etc. For a family of 4 this is a crisis.

Called a few plumbers that specialized in urgent and/or rooter work but, not surprisingly, none were available. Finally, found Bong.

Called him at 9:10; said he would be here by 10. He was 15 minutes early and 30 minutes later all was cleaned out and working again.

Hooray. We discussed some preventative work that might be needed in the future but there was no push to do it or quote it.

update, Bong beat me to a job today, so we are upping him to 3 stars. I've been using Rooter Bong for years for several apartment buildings I own and/or manage.

I've never had any trouble with them. They are prompt and efficient.

I called Atlas and they were not available so I called up several plumbing companies but none of them were available since it was off hours after 6pm until Rooter Bong answered. Bong answered the phone quickly and came at our place pretty much right on time, went directly to the kitchen to unclog the drain.

It took a little while to unclog it but it was well done. I like their guarantee of 90 days and no payment if the clog is not fixed.

Just a star off since I felt the the charge was a bit too high compared to some that I called. Otherwise, extremely happy with their service.

Kitchen sink drain was plugged. Rooter Bong first tried snaking but the corrosion/sludge had filled the pipe going to the main drain.

Had to replace more than 40 feet of pipe to the sewer. Work done in a timely manner and price was very fair for the amount of time and work spent.

I had a large drainage problem in my kitchen sink and Friendly Plumber told me to call Rooter Bong to clear out our garage pipes-- which are two slightly graded pipes running through our first flr garage unit. He did get all of the sledge out of the pipes but it didn't solve the issue of my 2nd flr kitchen sink.

When I called back, they did offer to come back to snake the drain. I did try snaking the drain myself to no avail (4 hours) and so I called them again.

I was initial upset that they were going to charge a second rate even though they didn't finish the first job-- In the end, we came to a common agreement as to what was negotiated in the first agreement and his assistant came with an industrial sized snake to get the work done. There was NO way I would have been able to do this myself.

He spent about 45 minutes snaking my drain-- which had crystallized due to the drano that was pour there-- I would recommend them, but with any plumbing services, make sure your are clear as to what the problem is, what work will be done, and the cost. They were kind enough to say that if they didn't solve the problem, they wouldn't charge-- (with the snaking) which I thought was fair.

(this was after I had paid the initial rooter charges). I still love Rooter Bong.

Last night I noticed that I had a very fast drip from the kitchen faucet that couldn't be stopped. (It had been going for a while but if you got the handle in the perfect spot it would stop.

This time even that no longer worked.). I called Rooter Bong around 1pm today and he said he could come within an hour.

He arrived very shortly, inspected the problem and was back with a new faucet before the 2pm. No I would have change out the faucet mysel, but couldn't get the old one loose.

While it took him a while, he was finally able to do what I couldn't and we now have a drip free faucet. Rooter Bong as always was a pleasure to work with and I can't imagine calling anyone else.

Very professional, gave me recommendations and estimates before doing the job. He gave me a time frame of when he'd get to my place and he was good at his word.

I'm satisfied customer and I like his 90 days guarantee. As for pricing ...

There's nothing like having a freshly cleaned drain! Showed up an hour late, and tried to charge us 50 bucks more than they said on the phone. We told him to get lost.

Yah...sure... according to the "Bong Meister" ,we needed to do major work involving ripping up our sidewalk, multiple permits to tear up the cement and do all kinds of plumbing work.

15th due to a slow flowing toilet and he was supposed to be at my residence at 3:30PM. At 3:45PM I called to see where they were and Mr.

He was timely, efficient and got the sink fixed, cleaned up his mess and was on his way in 30 minutes. Not sure if $175 is expensive or not but the sink is fixed.

Rescue Rooter tried a "small snake" through our drain and it didn't work. Then they pulled out our toilet and tried a "large snake" through their.

Still didn't work. Then we called Rooter Bong (recommended by the Friendly Plumber) and he fixed the problem with a "jetter", saving us thousands in sidewalk excavation.

Before you spend thousands of dollars on major work, try giving Rooter Bong a call! 1) recommended by "Friendly Plumber" (ranked #1 by Yelp users). 2) I forgot the appointemnt, he came back later and was very cool about it.

3) He pulled some big peice of metal out of my sewer pipe and now it works... 8 months ago a had another plumber tell me my sewer pipe had collapsed and it had to be dug up and replaced to the tune of $7,000.

The Bong had me back to normal for about $150. Thanks Bong! I hired this guy to replace a drain under a sink in one of my rentals.

He quoted me $250 for the job and seemed to want cash before the job was done. Apparently, the guy only takes cash and I didn't have $250 large in my wallet.

Note: usually I pay with a check after I receive a bill. When he was finished, we met in the city and now he said the bill was $300! "Wait, you said $250 an hour ago?" Why the extra cost? I never really figured it out.

I paid him, but later felt I should have stuck to our original agreement. He fixed the pipe fine and I would have given him a higher rating if it wasn't for the cash only policy and the increase in cost after the job was done.

I think I will continue my search for a dependable, professional and affordable plumber, but I've been looking for a long time. Maybe one doesn't exist? Water kept strongly flowing, non-stop, from the spigot. I capped it with a hose, but it was difficult to attach, with water spraying everywhere and on myself.

He assessed my issue and knew exactly what to do. He turned off the main water shut-off valve.

It was also difficult to turn, which he to use tools to do so. Maynor went to his truck and brought a brand new spigot.

This has made life miserable. A few plumbers had already been unsuccessful trying to fix it, and were just trying to quote us for a new water heater.

24/7 Rooter & Plumbing sent Maynor Amador to help us, and he did an amazing job. It turns out, the heater had debris lodged into components that were harder to remove and clean.

Maynor was the only one who cared enough to go through each component to find the root cause. I also appreciated the professionalism of the company in general, and how convenient they made the whole experience.

I was able to schedule an appointment the same day and got my plumbing issue squared away immediately. Utter failure.

This plumber claims to be available 24/7 but is not. We needed a plumber urgently on Saturday night.

Their add on Yelp says they're open 24 hours. When we called, the dispatcher kept me on the phone for a while to take all our info, and said they'd send someone within 45 minutes.

A few minutes later we get a text saying no one could come until the next day. I think this is actually just one of those unhelpful middle-man services -- a call-in center that farms your work out to various plumbers they don't know well, or supervise, or hold accountable for quality work.

For example, I asked the dispatcher for the name of the technician who'd come, and she said "I don't know any of them." Mike was amazing, he figured out my favorite plumbing issue that others couldn't figure out . ty Called after hours on Sunday for an emergency.

I've used Chung Wah Plumbing for the past 12 years. They initially helped me with a major remodel, and subsequently with several smaller plumbing tasks along the way.

Their hourly rates are comparable to other plumbers but the Chung Wah job will cost less because they work super fast. Why? Because they're busy and need to get to their next job.

If you want to experience Asian work ethic, hire them and watch them work! The water heater ball valve was leaking so I called Chung Wah Plumbing. The guy who answered the phone asked me if I wanted a morning or afternoon service call.

I opted for afternoon so the guy said they would be out after 1PM. At 2:20PM the two plumbers showed up.

There was an older plumber and a young plumber. The young guy had good communication skills and the older plumber was hard to understand.

I showed them the leaking ball valve at the water heater and they went back to their truck to get their tools and supplies. I told them they had to shut off the water in front of the house so that was the first thing they did.

It wasn't a difficult job so it didn't take long for the two of them to remove the old ball valve and install the new one. I have copper pipes in my seventy four year old house so the plumbers had to unsolder the leaking valve and sweat (solder) the new one in.

After installing the new ball valve, they turned the water back on and I checked the pipes and ball valve for leaks. I saw no leaks.

I told them I was satisfied and they packed up their tools and supplies and left. The two guys did a beautiful, professional job.

I was charged $100 for the job which I gladly paid. If I have any more plumbing problems, I will definitely call Chung Wah again.

Fast service in the Outer Richmond , reasonable prices. Installed a new toilet in 1.5 hours and cleaned a drain to my back yard after a lot of rain backed it up.

I would highly recommend this company if you live by the Ocean Beach.... We did business with this company for years with no problems.

Then after not using them for some time, inadvertently sent them a check intended for another vendor. After several phone calls and letters, finally a portion of the amount due was returned to us.

They kept $115.00 for no reason other than they did. This is stealing, and we would never do business with them again.

I truly don't know what happened here or why they would keep money that was not intended for them, especially since they had not done any work for us for almost a year. Very bad business practices here, which makes you wonder about the honesty of this company.

Steve and his crew helped me out in a pinch and delivered A+ results in record time. I called him one evening, he asked me to send him pics of the damage, he came out the next morning and provided me with a quote and that evening his team showed up and took care of the problem.

Highly recommended based on my recent experience! OK for simple, straight forward work. I have recommended Chung Wah in the past.

However, I cannot recommend them in the future based on the following. I have used Chung Wah several times to replace broken pipes and they were competent to handle a nice clear job like that.

Fixed the pipes but you have to hire someone else to repair the sheet rock or plaster damage caused to reach the pipes. Recently, I had a major leak or broken pipe.

Steve Leung came out and checked one floor and assured me there was no leak; just needed to caulk. He insisted the leak could not be coming from the next floor up.

I caulked like crazy but the leak continued and I determined the leak was indeed coming from the next floor up. This time Ping came out, verified the leak was from the next floor up and replaced several major pipes for about $700.

Afterward there was a tiny drip in the same location as where the work was done; but that seemed to stop and I had a contractor repair the ceiling and paint. After several months it was clear the drip had not stopped and needed to be repaired.

Ping came out. After I pointed out the mildew and moisture from the area he had just repaired, he checked the unit above, ran the water and checked the outside piping to see what the source was.

He then said he would do nothing since he could not be sure where the leak was coming from even though it was in the same area where he had just replaced the pipes. While the source of leaks is often difficult to detect, I have no doubt in this case.

I had a problem that needed to be solved and was prepared to pay for it. Ping just declined to properly check and indicated to me no desire to stand behind his work or to do the required work to fix the leak.

In this case Steve could not find the source of the original leak. Even when I determined the source, Ping was dubious but verified that I was correct and did the initial work.

Later when I pointed out the leak in the same area where the work had been done, Ping declined to check it out and correct it. I need to be able to trust and rely on the people who work for me and expect them to stand behind their work and see the job through to completion.

Based on the above, I do not feel I can rely on Steve on Ping or on Chung Wah. I am almost afraid to write this review because they will get too popular! The best.

Very efficient. Carl came out to investigate a nagging problem with my mom's toilet.

He was the only one who figured it out and fixed the problem! Steve is the top guy there and he is the best! You will not be disappointed! It's Tuesday before Thanksgiving. The guy I spoke with on the phone said 'you've backed yourself into a corner with the holiday coming up' Hey! I didn't cause the leaking pipes.

Do NOT contact this company, especially if you are female! I've called Chung Wah several times over the last few years for various household plumbing jobs and been extremely pleased with the quality of their service and their prices. They get here as quickly as they can, they're efficient and they make every effort to keep the cost of the job as low as possible.

I'm very impressed! I feel very lucky to have them close by in the Richmond District. Work was good and pricing was excellent but.......took them a long time to get started.
