I contacted George Salet Plumbing on Monday to purchase and install a Toto toilet in our condominium at 403 Main St in San Francisco.

They set up an appointment for Tuesday to come check out the situation and order the toilet. The plumber showed up at the beginning of the appointment window on Tuesday, evaluated the situation and said he had the appropriate Toto toilet on his truck.

Two hours later, I paid with my Visa and had a new toilet - and had the old toilet taken away. No ordering a toilet and setting up an installation appointment! All done in less than 24 hours! At a reasonable price! If there were six stars, I would give them that.

Excellent work, very professional and very customer oriented. Be weary of companies with many 5 star reviews - while they may be from real customers, they may receive discounts for these 5 stars.

We used this company several times in the past (hot water heater replacement, water issue from a tub/shower). Our previous plumber was Scott at Salet, who was no longer with the company.

We brought them in anyway as we needed a 2nd hot water heater replacement & didn't take the time to consider other plumbing companies. This was a mistake as we were over charged by this company for hot water heater replacement.

We were specific on the hot water heaters we wanted but didn't get our choice (granted it may not have been available). What frustrated us - the plumbers & owner spoke in Spanish while phone on speaker & they made the mistake of not considering we knew any Spanish.

The owner asked the plumbers about our home as part of setting the price for the replacement. The cost should have been the same & unrelated to the size of our house/assumption of what we could afford.

In addition to this, we could smell gas after the replaced & had to service the hot water heater again but did not go back to George Salet. We do not recommend using this company as there are other reputable companies that charge a lot less for quality service in San Mateo county.

Just an update to sing Alan's praises again. He followed up to flush out the Takagi and change out the busted computer board as he said he would do to make sure it's running optimally.

He was guiding another young apprentice, Chase, who wisely following his guidance throughout the process. I am writing to express my sincere gratitude to Alan B for his exceptional service in resolving my recent issues with my outdoor fire pit.

Alan's professionalism, positive attitude, and willingness to go the extra mile were instrumental in getting everything fixed. I particularly appreciated his helpfulness and detailed explanation of the problem.

Spent a lot of time and still couldn't diagnose where smell in shower drain was coming from. Homeowner found it later in two minutes.

Build up of gunk just inside lip of drain. Not sure how this guy missed that.

Third visit, second tech again. Rolls up with such a chip on his shoulder that it prevented him from being able to listen to a woman.

Consistently ignored what I was saying because machismo-impaired, asking the same questions over and over that I kept answering. Wouldn't believe me about what the appliance repair person had assessed and diagnosed.

Wouldn't believe me about the location of the washer and dryer directly on the opposite side of the wall (kept looking at the ceiling???). When I finally asked why the attitude, he stormed out.

Called dispatch. She seemed not at all surprised.

She asked me to leave message for owner, which I did. No call back.

Against my better judgement, called them one more time for one more job. Requested first tech.

Lo and behold, he calls out sick the morning after the Niners play in the Super Bowl. Shocking.

Unfortunately this now delays a subsequent bathroom repair project. Have shared my experience with other house managers in the area to warn them.

Do not recommend. Our hot water heater's pilot light went out and stayed out (cold showers for a week).

I called two other companies before George Salet - one of which just tried to sell me on a new water heater but couldn't tell me why or what the diagnosis was so I thought they were trying to pull a fast one on me (I'm a female homeowner and unfortunately blue collar folks assume I won't understand and don't try to explain their thinking. It sucks.).

Several hours of research later, I started pulling out the thermocouple and was ready to make the repair myself (a $25 part, the first guy was going to charge me $495 for, no thanks) but then saw that the entire unit was corroded (the first guy had not pulled out the cover at all so could not have confirmed that). Because of my research, I knew that I did in fact need a new water heater.

I called George Salet plumbing, got a wonderful person named Ryan who came out the next morning and gave me the run down of all my options and priced it out there on an ipad. He was able to come back the same day with my new water heater and installed it the same day.

I'm beyond pleased with this great company and would highly recommend them. In fact, I'm going to recommend them to every female homeowner I know because not only did he treat me with respect, he also explained the pros and cons of the 6 and the 12-year warranties, and was exceptionally nice and professional doing it.

The unit displayed an error code that pointed to a possible blower issue. Rather than taking it apart I thought I would go to the Takagi website for a local repair plumber.

Called Salet plumbing and was told its no charge to come out to diagnose the problem. So I made the appointment.

Jacob from Salet came out. We went to the waterheater.

He asked what was wrong. I said it was displaying an error code.

He then pulled out a ipad type tablet and scrolled. He ended up with one saying to look at the blower will be $580 and go from there if is not the problem.

This was minutes after arriving. Never even unscrewed the panel to look inside.

At that moment, I decided to go back to a traditional waterheater. So it was free for someone to come out.

$580 to pull out a screwdriver. Jacob and Danny came for free consultation service at my house.

They analyzed the situation and give me a recommendation, which did not bring income to their business. However, I am going to call George Salet when I need to replace my tankless water in a couple of years.

They are young guys, yet very professional and confident. I really like them both.

Jose and another gentleman came the 1st time to assess the situation and provide a quote (very reasonable!). The part was ordered and the next appointment, Jose came alone and worked on the water heater, fully cleaning the inside control area and changing out the defective part.

Service was friendly, efficient and very reasonable, especially considering the repair took a bit more time than originally estimated. Despite that, they stuck to the original price quote.

They sent a technician, David, who arrived in less than half an hour. David was very friendly and very knowledgeable.

He diagnosed the problem in less than 10 minutes. It turned out to be two problems: corroded electrical connections and a flaky remote control.

For the latter problem, he installed a new receiver with a new remote in just a few minutes--he had them ready to go in the truck. All told, it was about an hour from when I called to when the problem was completely solved.

I've never had a problem fixed so quickly and easily. I've also never had such good service that I was motivated to write a Yelp review before -- this is my first one.

Very pleased. Our clothes washer appeared to have sprung a leak last night.

Our first call was George Salet based on our great experience with them in the past. David came the next day and suggested that he check the washer drain.

Sure enough, after running a quick test, he confirmed that there was nothing wrong with our washing machine; that it was simply a clogged drain where the washer flowed into. After doing a deep snake a couple of times, the drain was cleared.

David then tested the washer for a couple of cycles and confirmed no water was backing up any longer. On top of that, David cleaned all the old lint and dirt off the floor and everything was good as new! I had a Kitchen sink installed that I bought from costco.

The job was very well done and I was overall impressed. I had a small customer sat issue at the end but even got a call from George himself to make sure I was satisfied, which I was.

The issue was solved quickly and to my satisfaction. The professionals they had who did the install were very easy to work with and transparent about any issues.

Their work was mediocre at best. The pipe for the showerhead moves back-and-forth between the tiles, the bathtub clunks when you step into it, the drain stopper doesn't raise to drain water, and the actual plumbing well...the picture speaks for itself.

Before the job was finished, I asked to have the plumbing corrected. They said it fine and that they'd guarantee if it leaked.

How long will it take for me to discover if it's leaking? Do your research before hiring, just because the company has been in business for 40 years, doesn't mean the employees have 40 years of experience. Only 1 star because I appreciated the text that indicated they would arrive in the Thursday before the Christmas holiday. Instead, revived a call that nobody is coming 15 minutes before the appointment because the technician "got involved in a job that was too big." We also had them install a new faucet and filter in our kitchen. Juan and Jose had their work cut out for them, yet they completed every job with masterful skill.

This is a topnotch business! I have a Jotul gas fireplace that would not light. I got a repair referral from O'Kells Fireplace where I bought it.

The repair man showed up and told me the starter assembly was not working. I asked him the price to fix it.

I was shocked to find that it would cost a minimum of $673.00. With out doing my due diligence, I agreed to the work.

He had the part in the truck and started right in. I began to wonder, how much could a starter possibly cost? I asked him and he didn't have a breakdown of the labor vs part.

Well...... I looked up the part and it cost around $73.00 retail.

From start to finish this repair took 45 minutes. My math tells me I paid $600.00 for labor.

I did let the technician know how I felt about the charges and he appologized and said he couldn't help his bosses pricing. I told him I planned on writing a Yelp review.

This review falls into the first category. I needed to determine if my problem was with my dishwasher (which I was planning to replace) or with something in my drain system.

I didn't know who to call. A friend recommended George Salet, and I called on a Saturday morning.

It wasn't an emergency, and I left a message asking, if it was possible, for an appointment "as early as possible" on the following Monday, as the new dishwasher was coming Monday afternoon. I received a call on Monday at 8:07 am ( I had asked for as early as possible), explained the problem I was having, and was scheduled for an appointment between 11 and 1.

Carlos arrived a little after 11. I was impressed that he put little booties on his feet before entering the house.

He was very thorough in his assessment, and explained to me what he was doing and what he was looking for. It turned out the issue was with the appliance, and not a big plumbing job.

The charge was more than reasonable, and I am confident that this is a company that does honest work, and won't make a big job out of a small one. I have found my new, go-to, plumbing company.

This week I needed a plumber to repair a leak in the shower and a problem with my dish washer. A friend who lives in Shelter Creek (San Bruno) had a very good experience with Salet Plumbing and so I thought I would try them.

I am now a total Salet convert. Juan did a great job repairing the leak in the shower and the problem with my dish washer.

The shower was a particularly difficult job because various part were damaged and/or poorly installed and screws were frozen etc. Salet's plumbers have over 4,000 spare parts in their vans which is a great time saver as no one has to interrupt the work to go to a hardware for a replacement part.

Juan is a good communicator and explained the different options for fixing the repair and costs involved. I never felt like I was being pressured into a particular option based on cost.

More importantly, it was immediately clear that Juan loves his work as a plumber and thrives on problem solving odd and difficult plumbing problems. As we all know, anyone who loves their work and who they work for tends to be a great professional.

This is also true of Juan! Finally, Juan looked for any possible way to reduce the overall cost of the job and applied a number of discounts I was eligible for. Based on the conciliatory response from this company's owner, and the fact that they did a satisfactory job on repairing a gas leak in my fireplace, I am updating this review to 4 stars.

I recently had Alan and Bobby out to fix a major pipe leak - water dripping from the second story to the garage. They did an excellent job! Of course they fixed the leak but they had to move my belongings out of a cabinet under the sink and Bobby moved them so carefully and organized them so well I was just amazed.

If you need a Plumber you need to call George Salet Plumbing! The hose that connects to the dish washer was leaking and causing water to pour out onto our kitchen counter and underneath the sink. We are delighted with how knowledgable and thorough the technician, Jose, was , He came out within an hour and fixed everything, explaining in detail what was needed (replace the hose) and then installed the new hose and tightened everything up.

He also suggested we put a fan under the sink for a day or so just to make sure the water didn't seep into the walls and cause mold. Then he gave us a visual free home inspection to make sure everything from the washing machine and dryer, water heater, stove etc.

Our kitchen sink started to drip underneath cause water to accumulate. We called George Salet Plumbing and a very responsive dispatcher scheduled a Friday afternoon expedited visit by two very competent and informative plumbing experts, Alan and Johnny.

They quickly assessed the sink issue and took care of our two aging toilets that didn't always flush and stop completely (often needing a jiggle of the toilet handle to get the toilet to stop flushing.) Then they also quickly took care of an upstairs sink whose stopper would not close to hold water in the sink! Thank you Alan and Johnny! We're very satisfied! George and his team did a great job servicing and repairing my Valor fireplace. Scheduling was easy and they were on-time and completed the job quicker than estimated.

Not only did they do an excellent job replacing the thermocouple and fix a broken seal in my fireplace, but they also thoroughly cleaned and wiped down the fireplace inside and outside. Now it looks like it's brand-new again.

He got our Takagi working in a jiffy, but he wasn't optimistic about its long-term functionality. Turns out you have to do regular maintenance to these sorta on-demand water heaters.

We'd not. Not once.

Not ever. That'd created a whole bunch of problems which Tyler patiently explained.

His suggestion was to replace the unit. "EEK! Expensive! Is our old unit really a terminal case? Can't you futz around with it a bit? Help us get another couple years out of it?" Tyler was not confident, but agreed.

He did some fidgeting & some cleaning & some other technical stuffs I didn't understand & Lo! The unit worked. All was well.

We were happy. Tyler was still not optimistic, but he felt confident he'd coerced another couple years out of our old unit.

It was 48hours before our old unit failed again. I phoned GSPInc & asked for Tyler.

He was off for the next couple days & wouldn't be back in until the following week. Gah! No hot water for the weekend!?! We shoulda listened to him.

We shoulda replaced the unit. Bummer! But we got on Tyler's schedule for the week following.

Who phoned me ON HIS DAY OFF!?! Tyler ... he apologized for the old unit's failure, said he'd done what he could, etc.

But I felt he'd done a great job. It wasn't his fault.

It was ours. We chose the cheaper option which was to fix our old unit.

That's on us, not Tyler or GSPInc. So we agreed to replace the unit.

Tyler came the following week & replaced our old Takagi with a new sleeker, sexier Takagi that runs more efficiently, etc. Super stoked to be able to take long showers & wash dishes while we do our laundry.

And we're super-super stoked with George Salet Plumbing, Inc & will be sure to do regular maintenance on our Takagi ... & when we do, we're gonna be sure to ask for Tyler.

Our fireplace wasn't lighting anymore. I called the fireplace company that installed it many years ago and they referred me to George Salet Plumbing.

Since it wasn't an emergency, I got an appointment within the week. They were very communicative.

I received a call that morning saying their employee had finished his previous job early, could he come right away. Ryan was very nice, mask and booties.

He diagnosed the problem and got to work, cleaning the unit and replacing something he thought was the problem. He said it might also be something else which is a little pricey, but that probably wasn't the case.

He took the whole unit apart to thoroughly service. After three hours, everything was put back together but it seemed to still be cutting out a little.

We decided to just go ahead and replace the other part. Poor guy had to take it apart again.

It was a "package" price so I wasn't charged by the hour. Four hours later, our 25 year old fireplace that had never been serviced has been entirely rebuilt.

So next time your service person is late, just think, he might have had someone like me as an unexpected lengthy service call before you. I will definitely be calling them in the future and referring my friends.

Thanks, Jacob! The lack of professionalism is astounding. When we ordered a new dishwasher through Lowes, they provided Sovereignty Plumbing as their installer, who called to schedule for a Thursday a week and a half later at 12PM.

The week of the install they asked if they could move it from 12PM to 3PM. Then the same day from 3PM to 5PM.

At 4:45PM the Installer (and owner) called and asked if we would like to reschedule. When I informed him that I could not (as I was leaving town the next morning and wanted it taken care of before then), he complained that "it seems like everyone needs it now too," but agreed to come at 7PM, understanding that I had an evening obligation at 8PM.

7PM comes, no installer. I call at 7:15, only to get voicemail.

Again at 8PM to only get voicemail. At 8:45, the installer finally calls back to tell me I will have to reschedule, but that the next morning is already booked with other customers.

At this point, I have taken a day off work, rescheduled 3 times for their convenience, stood up by the installer, and forced to reschedule for another unspecified time, but not the next day. The next morning, their staff does not call, and at 10:30 I finally reach out before departing to be told that the next available time in their schedule is next Tuesday at 3PM, but assures me that this time they will be there.

Another day off from work to deal with this Plumber. They call on Tuesday, and see if they can install early, at 2:30PM.

I rush home to meet them, only to have the installer arrive at 3:15PM. While this is a completely acceptable time, in their 3-5 window given on my 6th time talking to the company, it was further frustrating, given they requested the earlier time slot.

Yet, when the Installer, and Owner, arrived... not even a mention of an apology for the mismanagement of their time and resources and the effect on their customers schedule.

Their blatant disregard for their customers is stagering. There are numerous other plumbers in the area...

I was being vague about my relationship. This should clear things up: It is very rare that I find someone's service so appalling that I give it one star.

Well, in the case of Sovereignty Plumbing if I could give it negative stars I could. Any business or person that preys on the elderly actually deserves punishment.

My partner and I care for his elderly mother. We have strived to allow her to keep her independence as much as possible.

One day my elderly mother-in-law took it upon herself to call Sovereignty Plumping. While we weren't thrilled that she did this, we figured it couldn't hurt that much.

We would be out a couple of hundred bucks at the most and while we could fixt the problem ourselves, what was done was done. Jacob came to the house and after two hours left with a $2000 check in hand.

When my partner called Jacob and asked for an invoice, Jacob didn't just sent one. Oh no.

He went to the house while we were at work and had my mother-in-law sign an invoice. Included in the invoice was an $1,800 "Authorized Love Gift." Really, Jacob? A "love gift?" He obviously knew what he was doing since he made the effort to go to the house when we were not there AND it's pretty apparent that my mother-in-law is getting on in her years.

What's even worse about this is that when she fully realized what had happened she was deeply saddened that she let this type of thing happen to her. Well, she didn't let this happen, she was a victim.

If this is the type of person that you want to hire as your plumber then by all means go ahead. It's your conscience.

We have been using Jacob from Sovereignty for years. He is the best plumber I have ever encountered.

We own a few rental properties, so we often need someone in a hurry and on a budget when something goes wrong. He makes himself available, even going so far as to cut a vacation short by a day to install a water heater at our rental.

His prices are reasonable, he is honest, and he will gladly explain what he is doing and how he is doing it. I have dealt with a lot of plumbers.

Most of them have attitude, and want to make you feel like you could never do any of this work yourself (I am a very handy person, so I find this insulting) Jacob has never had attitude. He is super friendly.

I recommend him fully and completely and I will never work with anyone else. And as for these comments about the elderly....

Yesterday, I had a dishwasher installed by a Home Depot arranged subcontractor. The installers left after they declared the dishwasher leak-free.

Well, the first time I ran the dishwasher, there was a huge leak. Home Depot said they could send out the installers again in 4 days to fix the problem.

I was reluctant to wait this long, especially for someone who did the job incorrectly the first time. I searched yelp for "dishwasher installation" and came across Jacob at Sovereignty Plumbing.

I called Jacob and he talked me through the fixing the problem immediately. It turns out, the Home Depot installation team forgot to reattach the air gap.

Easy fix. A professional consultant and a class act - Thanks, Jacob! I now have a plumber I can trust.

Jacob, the owner and sole employee of Sovereignty Plumbing is possibly the most dishonest and unprofessional businessperson that I've encountered in the Bay Area. I purchased one of the deals that he was offering on the Angie's List website.

The deal was for one hour of plumbing services for $117. After the purchase I sent an email to follow up and to schedule the work.

After the email, I called and left a voicemail. I didn't receive a call back.

The next day, I called again and left another voicemail and followed that up with another email. After finally getting Jacob on the phone I described the job and I told him that I needed to have a plumbing permit pulled for the work.

He gave me a quote of $275 for the time and materials and $250 for the permit. After I told him that I had purchased the $117 deal that he offered, he came up with a whole bunch of bogus excuses for why he didn't want to do the work.

I told him that he shouldn't offer the deal if he wasn't going to honor it. He basically said that he didn't have to honor the deal and that it didn't matter because he could just go make the money off of someone else.

Luckily, I found an honest plumber who did the work in an efficient and professional manner and who only charged me for the time that he actually worked plus the materials ($30) and for the actual cost of the permit which was only $169. The following week I had my inspection by the plumbing inspector from SFDBI and the work passed without any problems.

Jacob of Sovereignty Plumbing was simply angry because he wasn't able to rip me off by getting paid $245 an hour and by over charging me for the cost of the plumbing permit. On top of all of that, I still haven't received a refund for the $117 plumbing deal that I bought! What a shady character! Quickly solved clogged drain/faulty stopper mechanism.

Was professional, very courteous. After Coming back to my house at 4am on the morning, i parked my car on the street.

After few hours later when i went to get my car, i found that my bumper was on the floor. Then realized that someone hit my car, and there was a note in my car.

In the note was jacobs phone number. Few minutes later, Jacob came and admitted his fault, and i colaborated with him to get the front of my car fix.

I accepted to collaborate only because he showed honesty and responsability which its hard to find in the city of san francisco, and you can tell by the countless number of hit and runs there are everyday in San Francisco. I really appreciate the kind of person he is and the quick actions he take.

Great service!! I recently had a new vanity delivered and installed by Sovereignty Plumbing Company and I can highly recommend them. From coming out to taking the initial measurements they were on time and Rose the office manager emailed me in advance confirming the appointment which I really appreciated as we're all busy these days.

After the measurements were taken my vanity, sinks etc were ordered and again Rose confirmed the installation appointment via email (& a 2 hour window - great) and the installer Jacob showed up on time and called me when he was about 30 min away from my house for a heads up. I appreciated that as I often "run" quick errands in my neighborhood & this way I can make it back on time vs.

waiting for hours at home in a given 4 hour time slot. My old vanity was dismantled and taken out and the new one installed but as it turned out the sink was not the right size, the person who put the order together had packed up a sink that was too large...

Jacob called the store to alert them of the mistake and returned the sink that afternoon - it was a Friday afternoon so I was a bit nervous to be left with a mess all weekend and having to take more time off work on Monday - which really was not possible for me, too busy at work right now. Jacob put my fears at ease when he told me that he could come back Saturday morning with the correct sink to complete the installation.

Saturday morning the job got completed as promised (again with a confirmation email from Rose Friday afternoon and a call from Jacob when in route on Saturday morning) so I'm a happy camper. Service has been great and the work is top notch, now in love with the bathroom which I just tolerated prior to this.

He quickly took out our old toilet, cleaned the floor and installed the new one. The hose coming out of the wall was non standard but he managed to figure out a way to get it to work.

I've used Sovereignty twice, with great results. The first time was when my water heater had an internal part start to dissolve into crumbs of plastic that blocked up my faucets and shower (an issue with the 90s models of the brand).

Jacob and his crew came and found that the heater had been installed without a permit by a prior owner and had never been inspected. They made a good recommendation for a new one, brought it and installed it without a drop of water spilling on the floor, drilled through the external wall to run a new pipe through it, and cleaned up after themselves really well.

When inspection time came, they came back and were very courteous and helpful to the inspector, which helped. The slope of the original vent had to be changed, and Jacob regretfully showed me where a wire conduit pipe had to be moved, which meant the work could only be done by a licensed general contractor.

I asked if he could recommend one, and the guy he named did a great job and the second inspection was passed with ease. I really appreciated Jacob's guidance, since I knew nothing at all about water heaters, San Francisco permits, etc.

Probably saved me $400 by not removing the whole dishwasher and fixing something that didn't need repair.

Turns out problem #2 didn't exist at all and it was suspected only because problem #1 was making it difficult to tell what was really going on. Both Jacob and Rose were super friendly, courteous, respectful, and professional.

I will definitely use them again. My installer Jeffrey came to my house and was very professional.

My house is in San Francisco and because it is old there are always things that need to be retrofitted when putting new items in it. Jeffrey was great about making it all work perfectly.

I would hire him again in an instant! I had great service, from the office to the installers of my water heater. As for the negative reviews, I find them hard to believe as they bent over backwards to make time for my appointment.

And because they are Lowe's installers, I got follow up Lowe's and from Rose in the office. Jacob and crew came over at around 7pm (ON A FRIDAY NIGHT) to install our dishwasher and garbage disposal.

They stayed a couple of hours and completed the job. They did a great job and we would recommend their services any day! I wanted to do some updates to my bathroom (shwr door, lav faucet, 3-handle tub faucet, shwr head) in an apartment and really needed to do it as inexpensive as possible.

You know the saying, "the cheap comes out expensive." Well not in this case, because according to Jacob, when the bid is honest it comes out just right. I had 4 plumbers come in for bids and Sovereignty was lower by about 25%.

One guy claimed this was an 8hour project, Jacob finished in 5. I'm a single female and Jacob made me feel comfortable, he was professional, and unlike some of the other guys I didn't feel like he was sizing up my place to see how much he could pad the bill.

Jacob also got bonus points from me for removing his shoes when he came to do the estimate WITHOUT having to be asked, and before stepping into my place. He looked down, saw white carpet, me with no shoes, & immediately put two and two together.

Some other people just walked in like they owned the place. He answered all my questions BEFORE I asked them, and was very clear on the work that needed to be done.

And when I couldn't find the shut off valve for the building (which my landlord promised to have taken care of before he left for the day) Jacob was extremely patient (while I panicked) and helped me find it. As for the install, the work was clean and better than I'd expected.

There were a couple scratches on the shower door I purchased (so I got it on sale), when Jacob installed it I couldn't even find them. Before he left he explained how common minor repairs could be handled in lew of calling a plumber.

And this morning I called him to ask how to replace another fixture that I had initially decided not to have him replace. I figured he might blow me off, rush me off the phone, or just give me a vague answer...nope, he walked me through the 5min process.

Well, nasty and dirty plumbing issues are like pimples that pop up in a surprise. For those of you who are not a pro, leave this task to a competent and reliable rooter & plumber.

That's why I only hired experienced and licensed plumbing specialist. Often time the issues may take me hours to fix, but they could be resolved in minutes.

UR&P sent Howard to the rescue. Yes, it took Howard about 1 hour to unclogged and drained the sink & toilet.

He quickly determined the problems, explained what caused the problems, and got rid of them promtly with proper tools and parts. The service charge is reasonable and competitive.

Unfortunatly, the main pipe was damaged badly underneath the flooring materials which it can't be done within hours. Howard was so easy to work with, and he has offered a free revisit in the future to check on the pipe for replacement if I decide to open up the flooring.

He quickly helped to shut off the main water supply to temperatly stop water leakage to prevent further damages to the flooring. I truly appreciate his kind advice and effort!! Overall, it's totally worth it for the time spent and experience.

They are total their scam artists. My mom passed away right before COVID so her house hasn't been occupied.

Mr Lee came & unclogged the drain. After he left, the kitchen drain clogged so he came back the next day.

When you have a sewage problem it's one of those things where you are at the mercy of the first company that comes out. Unfortunately I paid a pretty penny for their service.

I had a sewage backed up and someone had to come out and snake the sewer line immediately. They were the first to respond and agreed to have them take care of the issue.

Few hundred dollars later they snaked about 40-50ft and it cleared the clog. If it wasn't for Mr.

Li I probably would have left them 1 Star. As to why I say they were expensive? I had another clog at a different property and they snaked about 80ft of it for only a couple of hundred dollars.

Toilets are working fine now. If you want a plumber who can actually do standard plumbing work I'd suggest not contacting Urgent Rooter.

They did come out very quickly to look at the problem. Within 5 minutes, they had a solution: I had to replace around 10 different pieces of drain pipe for a total cost of $3,000.

This was the conversation from there: Me: "I really can't do that much work right now. Isn't there anything cheaper that would solve the problem?" Them: "Well, we could replace only some of those parts, which would cost $2,000." Me: "That's still really expensive.

Isn't there a quick temporary fix you can do"? Them: "We could replace just the drain piece and the piece connecting to it. That would cost $750." Me: "Is that the absolute best you can do? There's nothing cheaper?" Them: "Well, we don't recommend it, but we could snake the line and see if that helps for $150." They snaked the line for $150 (which took less than 15 minutes), and the problem was solved.

I waited 3 months to write this review, and the drain still works perfectly. I don't understand why they'd recommend a $3,000 repair before trying a $150 fix, even if it's not guaranteed to work.

I feel like they just realized I didn't know much about plumbing and tried to take advantage of it. This plumber was quite unprofessional rude, impatient. He acted like he was the customer and I'm the service provider.

Later the service person came around 3 pm and looked at the problem. He then started telling how he has neck pain and back pain and cannot carry the snake up 10 steps and suggested calling a different service.

Couple things : 1. If you have issues do not take the job.

Give the customer a fair warning so that they can try other alternatives. 2.

If you got physical issues, deal with the company. Dong give that as a reason to the customer after being late by 2 hours.

Overall, I'm very disappointed with the service and would never use such a service again. I have no idea how this business has 5 stars..

it must be a scam. I called and made a next day appointment for a clogged urinal and floor drain.

Later that same day I received a phone call from them letting me know the urinal may need to be taken off the wall to be fixed and there would be an extra charge, I agree to the extra charge. The following day when they showed up the guy checked out the urinal and floor drain and told me he was going to snake the urinal and if that does not got work they were NOT going to take it off the wall to fix it.

I explained to him that I agreed to the extra charge to remove the urinal to have it fixed. His reply was they do not do that anymore and that it was my problem.

He then tells me he is charging me $160 to snake the drain, which is a total rip off. Basically I wasted my entire day and nothing got fixed.

Pretty sure this comment will be removed - that is the only way this company could have a 5 star rating. You may say I am spoiled, but I take life's little luxuries for granted.

Uh oh. I tried praying to various deities, screaming at the faucet, pulling my hair out and cursing at whomever built my house in 1963--basically, I tried everything short of fixing it.

Nothing seemed to help. Since I have a better chance of beating Tiger Woods in Augusta than fixing a faucet, I called my dad for some plumbing recommendations.

He recommended Igor the Plumber, a Russian guy he had used a couple of times. Igor came by on Friday, confirmed that the faucet was broken, told me to get a replacement one and .

disappeared. After two missed appointments (Monday and Wednesday), 6 or 7 un-returned voicemails and 6 days without running water in the kitchen, I decided I'd had enough.

I found Urgent Rooter on Yelp and called them at 8:15 am. They took down my information and called me back with a quote in 5 min.

They quoted me $180 to install my faucet, which was more expensive than the elusive Russian plumber, but cheaper than the $255 quote I'd gotten elsewhere the night before. They said they could have a plumber at my house by 9:30 am.

At 9:25 am, I got a call from Tony the Plumber who said that he was waiting for me at my front door. I was 5 minutes away from my house, but he said he didn't mind waiting.

We walked in, he looked at my faucet, confirmed the estimate with his manager over the phone and got to work. About 90 minutes later, my shiny new faucet was installed.

Tony demonstrated to me that the faucet was working great and that there were no leaks. He insisted that I take a look under the sink and test everything out to make sure I had no complaints.

He was a true professional, which I certainly appreciated. Not only did he bring his own paper towels, but he also put back every single item he had to move while he performed the installation! When he told me he was done, I couldn't even tell that someone had been working in my kitchen.

Tony even put back the area rug that he had to move out of his way. That rug really tied the room together.

Trust me: next time you have a plumbing problem, don't fall for the old "I can get you a Russian, cheap" trick. Just call Urgent Rooter & Plumbing, and they will take care of it.

Albert was as polite, efficient, timely and considerate as I could have hoped for. He went out of his way to test a few things about the mystery leak in my garage and then gave me a free diagnosis and excellent advice.

Sunday morning and there is a big, smelly puddle in my garage. Turns out my main sewer pipe is blocked.

Here's the dilemma. Do I let the smelly puddle sit a day, and hope for a lower rate from the plumber on Monday, or do I bite the bullet and get the problem fixed today.

I found another option, called Urgent Rooter, and paid the low, regular weekday price. Before I found Urgent Rooter, I called several other highly-rated plumbers from Yelp.

Robert the Friendly Plumber was friendly. But he doesn't do rooter work.

So he referred me to Rooter Bong (great name). Well, Rooter has a good price ($145 to snake the line), but he doesn't work on Sunday.

Atlas was willing to come over in 3 hours and snake the line for $325 or come on Monday for $250. Mr.

Rooter would come in 3 hours to provide a free estimate, but they wouldn't quote anything over the phone. Why would I want to do that when every other plumber was willing to quote the price for a snake job? Urgent Rooter was an easy choice.

He was willing to come over in 30 minutes and snake the line for $150. When he got to my house (on time), he asked if I wanted the regular snake for $150, the electric power flush for (I forget the price), or $400 for the super-duper gas flush.

Suspecting that I was being up sold unnecessarily, I asked what the advantages of the other methods were. My only complaint is that I didn't get a very clear explanation.

("It's up to you what you want.") I chose the regular snake job, and Mr. Urgent tried valiantly to unclog my pipe for 45 minutes, but this was too much of clog for the snake to fix.

Feeling desperate, I decided to go for the super-duper flush. That fixed the problem.

Now, here's the great part. Mr.

Urgent only charged me for the super-duper flush $400. He didn't even charge me for the 45 minutes he wrestled with the snake.

I was totally expecting a bill for $550. I hate to shell at $400, but I am happy to be able to use the plumbing again, and I don't even have to stay home from work on Monday to meet the plumber.

I will be using Urgent Rooter in the future. Our slow drain stopped completely last night.

Draino didn't get it going by this morning. Called at 10am, Mr.

Lee was here as promised at 1:30pm. Job was done by 2:15.

When he and another guy showed-up the day of to do the work, he decided to charge almost TWICE the quoted amount. Oh great! To top it, they then tried to say we needed to replace a drain for $800.00 and stood there waiting for me to say "Ok, sounds good!" But, there's nothing wrong with our drain! When I called their office to complain about the price difference, the person over the phone told me they can do nothing about it.

They weren't obnoxious about it, just was completely unsympathetic and unwilling to do anything at all. Well take me to court because I'm only paying the 650.

I have written proof, signed by YOUR plumber with the 650 amount I agreed to and not the brand spanking new, bigger and better price. I would never recommend this company! So a few months passed and the drains got clogged again, poop backing up, etc.

This time I had Howard come out and grind everthing out from the rear drain all the way to the street, and if possible down to the sewage treatment plant (Joke!). But seriously, he came and spent several hours grinding away all the crap and junk in the main drain.

Everything flushed out and haven't had a problem since. A few months after that, the water heater blows up (not literally) and just quits working.

No hot water, not a good sign, and nobody is happy. Called Urgent again, $1050 was the quote for a Hoyt water heater, installed and haul the old one away.

Do you think I could do this cheaper by going out, buying a water heater and having someone install it? Probably but who has the three days to wait around? Another person came out that day and installed a new water heater. ZAP! All done.

Hot water returns and so does a happy family! I took my toilet apart trying to get a dental appliance that was accidentally flushed, and when I put it together the new wax ring didn't seal. Better to have a professional reinstall than risk leaking water onto my neighbors.

Of the top plumbers on yelp, these folks were the only ones open till 6pm not 5pm, and they actually answered the phone when I called at 5:58pm. The Asian woman who scheduled my appointment for 9:30am the next day couldn't give me a quote but said they won't start work until a price is agreed upon.

Two very friendly Asian men showed up at exactly 9:30am (try getting that from your cable guy :-). Their English was not good enough to really communicate much, but with their boss on the cell phone we communicated just fine for this simple job.

The boss quoted $220 to reinstall the toilet, which seemed quite high given that I had already done much of the prep work (removed old caulk and wax rings). I offered $150, we agreed on $180 including new ring and supply line, other parts extra.

The two workers did the job in about 50 minutes total, and I was happy with the workmanship; no mess left behind. I noticed that they replaced the valve inside the bowl; the worker's English wasn't good enough for me to get an answer about why that was done, but there was no charge so I'm happy.

Overall, I'd call Urgent again for simple jobs, but might look for native English speakers if there was a job that required lots of communication. These guys were really friendly.

Amazing service. This past Saturday night our basement laundry sink got clogged.

Figured we'd snake it in the morning. Morning comes along, now the laundry sink was half full with warm water (we weren't doing laundry).

Looked to Yelp for a good plumber and called Urgent Rooter. The supervisor, Howard Lee answers and asked "is this the main line problem"? I go, "I have no idea, can you come and take a look." He said "I'll be there in 15 minutes." Wow, on a Sunday morning? He actually shows up 15 minutes later.

I'm already impressed. He does his thing (I'm not sure what, but he looked at the clog while we ran water from various sinks and flushed the toilets).

In about five minutes, Howard has figured out the problem and goes, yeah, it's the main line, don't run any water, flush the toilet, or anything water related until I fix this. He explains that it'll cost $150, unless he has to access the line by cutting the pipe, which would cost more.

Two hours later, after pulling out a whole bunch of roots from our main line (the City had warned us a couple of months back that we may have a root problem in our sewer line), the problem was solved. I ask him, do I need to replace the entire line? He goes, I wouldn't recommend that because it would cost too much, at least several thousand dollars, and if the line runs beneath your foundation then the costs could really be high.

Instead, he recommended that we clear the line annually (for a cost of $150), and if that doesn't work he could try toxins to kill the roots growing in the pipe. He explained if none of those efforts work, then we should consider replacing the line.

Howard actually explained in better detail, but, it's a little too much to write. So, I go, great, when should I call you again? He said, try and clear your line before the raining season, so November, December time because the rain water also runs into the sewer line.

And if that's clogged with tree roots, then the water could back up into the house. Good to know.

He then assured me that he would call us to remind us. Wow, what great service.

Loved them. Our tree root problem could have been the biggest nightmare, instead, it was quickly fixed at a very reasonable price.

Just excellent. Highly recommend.

After taking the pipes apart and snaking the line myself, I still couldn't get my kitchen sink to drain. I finally broke down and called these guys after reading the previous Yelp reviews.

This is a great company and I will use them again. They came within a few hours, gave me a good price quote (not obscenely expensive given it was a Saturday) and went to work.

The problem turned out to need some pretty "big guns". He was prepared and capable and was very sensitive to the fact that I was in the midst of a dinner party for my birthday.

In the end he charged me $5 less then the quote---even tho it was a more complex task then first thought. I'll keep their number on my fridge and call when the pipes have digestive issues again.

I also learn a lot - because they are always happy to answer questions and explain the ins and outs We called Urgent Rooter & Plumbing this morning after our shower began backing up and our repeated attempts to use drain cleaners failed. A service man was promised between 12 noon and 2 p.m.

and sure enough, a very pleasant man arrived at 12:20 p.m. He brought in a portable rooter and cleared the drain pipe completely.

He showed us the gunk that had built up over years deep in the pipe. The shower drains perfectly now.

The service fee was a little high, but well worth it. Hooray for Urgent Rooter and Hooray for Yelp! I came home last night to a clogged main sewage pipe in the garage.

After two and a half hours trying to snake the drain ourselves (so disgusting) with no fix, I logged onto Yelp and tried to find a "Rooter Man". Luckily I stumbled on Urgent Rooter! This company deserves the 5 Star, Super Rating! I called this morning at 7:30AM and Albert promptly provided an appointment at 11AM.

He arrived on time with Wen, our Service Technician. He surveyed the area, provided us with his diagnosis, and recommended we snake the drain and flush the pipe.

GULP. I was expecting to pay $500, but to my pleasant surprise it was only $280! PHEW!!! He also gave me a 90 day warranty too! After signing some papers, Wen started working on the clog (from the outside into the house) and spent over an hour and a half clearing out the pipe.

He did a super job and took a lot of care into what he was doing. Even after he cleared the clog, he still ran the snake for 25+ minutes with the water running to clear anything out.

Then he spent a good amount of time flushing out the pipe too! The icing on the cake was when he actually cleaned up the area around the sewage pipe opening before putting the cover back on. It just showed how much attention and care he put into clearing our clogged drain.

Fixed our broken sink in half an hour then took extra time to clean it out nicely, and did a thorough job - testing and retesting the disposal. He also took extra time to find out where this tiny, tiny leak from our disposal was coming from (which he didn't need to do).

Years ago, I handled litigation involving disreputable rooter companies, who told people they had problems they did not, created problems they would then charge you to fix, and generally overbill everything. In other words, the exact opposite of Urgent Rooter.

My sewer was clogged and backed up, the rain was falling, and I discovered my roof run-off flows into the same pipe, backing nasty stuff into an ever-widening toxic pool covering the garage floor. It's an emergency.

Urgent Plumbing's answering machine said they open at 8. I called at 8:01 and a polite woman answers, and says they can be there within an hour.

Li arrives on time, takes 10 minutes to diagnose the location of the clog, gives me a fair quote, and gets to work. Within an hour, the drain is flowing clear, and I am at work with a hose and a lot of bleach.

By noon, the nasty adventure is over, except for my kids complaining that the garage smells like a hospital. Urgent Rooter is who to call.

Li was very polite and as I read in some other Yelp reviews, removed his shoes at the door. He was very efficient and was able to use a plumbers snake to pull out a ton of hair out of the drain line.

He re-installed everything that I had taken apart and solved the problem. Li tested the pipes as well to ensure no drips or leaks and then removed all the plastic projection that he had put down and took it with him.

At first he was curmudgeonly and terse, but he had a heart of gold buried just below the surface. Ultimately he did not fix my toilet but he was clear that he did not know how to fix my model (a tricky, dual-flush Sterling...

They gave me a time frame for 9-10:30. I was really hoping they would not come at 10:30 and was very happy they came just after 9.

They replaced the system in the back of the toilet and then noticed that the connection to the wall was leaking and should be replaced. I said go ahead and when he was done he showed me the part/small pipe he took out of the wall.

It looked way to old and was really happy we avoied a problem. He also fixed a leaky faucet.

Vince was on time and experienced. He looked for the drain in my backyard and asked me to flush a toilet from a different bathroom and showed me that water was accumulating in the drain outside and concluded that there was a back-up in the sewer line.

He said that there were two possible solutions, a cheaper one ($160) and a more expensive one if the first one didn't work ($260+). The cheaper solution included sending a 50 foot snake under my garage to clear that line, it worked.
