I was so thrilled to get my wall heater replaced quickly & professionally. I got other estimates but no match to STK for a Williams heater which had been my preference & coincidentally was what was offered.

Give them a chance to help you! What an awkward experience! Kenny, the owner, arrived 15 minutes late, came in, and completed the work in less than 15 minutes when he had estimated 3hours for the job. There was no conversation or explanation of the work.

He's not a native English speaker which may be why, but it was awkward and a bit unsettling. I was surprised that the quoted price still stood given how much less time the job actually took.

When I called for a quote/help they sent a plumber the same day. We were happy with our repair and professionalism of Francisco but upon taking some baths/showers noticed that our hot water just wasn't as hot as we needed.

So I called again to share that and once again Nigel Mulgrew sent a plumber the same day to repair. No upcharges, no complaints by management, just great customer service.

They sent Joe today who has also been very professional and courteous. It wasn't quite the quick fix we both thought it would be but Joe figure ms it out and we now have the hot water we wanted for our baths.

I was so stressed when I flushed my toilet and noticed a flood of water coming from the ceiling downstairs, the week before Xmas. I immediately turned off all the water to my whole place.

I was thinking no running water and $$$$ to fix plumbing in the ceiling, right before the holidays, if I could even find anyone to come. Mulgrew fit me in, even though they indicated they were super busy.

They stopped by the day I called to stop the bleeding, assessed that it was not as bad as I thought (an improperly seated toilet rather than a burst pipe), and turned the water back on, putting me at ease, and getting me back online. With 2 kids, this was critical.

Joe even gave me tips on how I could prep the space, before they came back, to reduce the job price estimate, as I indicated I was on a budget. Joe and Francisco came back a a second time, before Xmas, to properly finish the job, and Installed a new toilet, that I'd purchased.

They were fast, and efficient. They were also clean and thoughtful about keeping the space tidy, and not leaving a mess.

The crew did not charge me for anything I didn't need. They brought in some of their best guys to make a final call on whether they needed to open up more ceiling, and decided against it, which saved me money and headache.

Oh the woes of a clogged kitchen drain. Joe Pizziconi arrived right on time, actually a few minute's early.

Joe explained each step he would take to solve the problem and gave an update at each step. The clog was way down there and he discovered that the kitchen and bath drains were in 2 separate outlets to the main sewer not one.

And he was able to do this without opening walls. After much finagling and bigger and longer snakes the clog was cleared.

great care was taken to make sure my floors and counters were kept clean and everything was put back together and spotless. Joe was professional and provided options along the way to solving the problem.

Called in a couple times to request a quote and service for a small commercial rotating gas oven. The job was to simply install a gas regulator (retails for $40-50), which just needs to be screwed and fastened between the oven and existing gas hose.

Initially, it seemed no one had any understanding of what this was, and yet I was quoted just under $1,000 for this job for what should be a $200-300 max job. The job itself is incredibly simple and should take no more than 15 min with the correct tools.

I'm just disgusted that this company would price gauge female owned businesses in this way. I wouldn't recommend.

Joe came out and gave me a reasonable price for the job. The cities water valve did not shut the water off completely which caused the house main supply valve replacement job to be more difficult than anticipated.

Regardless, Joe was able to repair everything even though it was more difficult and took longer than anticipated. it was well after dark when he left.

From Elder coming the day after a major holiday to fix my leaking kitchen sink/dish washer/disposal to Joe snaking our bathroom sinks - these plumbers are thoughtful, conscientious people who know what they're doing. We've been very happy with their years of service and although no one wants to be calling a plumber, if you need their services I wouldn't hesitate to call them.

These guys were Life-savers!!! Our tankless water heater started flashing an error code, and stopped heating up water. Although we've had it for about five years, we had never encountered this particular code, and couldn't reset the system.

After googling many options and watching multiple YouTube videos, I still couldn't fix it. After being out of hot water for a few days, I had no option but to call a professional.

Unfortunately, I called the wrong one! They dispatched a "technician" who showed up late, and immediately charged me $69 just for showing up at our house. The individual looked at the exterior of the heater, took a couple pictures of the serial code and model, and then presented me with three options: $1000 to "diagnose" the problem + any potential replacement parts.

Another option was spending a few thousand more for a complete "service" job, and $6800 to replace it. And remember, he never even did the minimal testing to see if it just needed a simple reset.

Needless to say, I thanked him for his time and told him I'd find an alternative. I contacted the manufacturer, who recommended Nigel Mulgrew Plumbing.

I called them after hours, and Andrew called me back. That in itself was impressive! He told me they were fully booked for another 4 days, but would call me should there be any cancellations.

He also shared several pointers on how to diagnose the machine (for free). This next morning I received a call from the office, and within 20 mins Joel and his helper were at my house.

It was a completely different experience from the previous day's experience with "the other guys." Joel was quick to troubleshoot a handful of different things. He communicated my options very clearly, and was confident he knew what the issue might be.

He serviced the machine (used air compressor, removed debris, checked fuses, measured gas intake, etc). He then called the manufacturer to confirm step-by-step process of clearing the codes that didn't go away even after a complete descale and servicing.

He meticulously followed every instruction given over the phone with tech support, and soon the water heater was fully functional. (We discovered that the water heater locked itself up internally due to multiple power outages we had experienced in Pacifica...

thus the error code) Joel was incredibly helpful and courteous! He clearly explained the process to me, and when it was all said and done, I didn't even have to pay him on the spot. Instead, I was emailed the bill the following day.

My total bill was $387! This was significantly less than what the "other guys" wanted. Although I hope to not have to use a plumber very often, i at least know now where I'll go should I have to! I highly recommend their services! (Ironically, I discovered later that the "other guys" are located right next to these guys).

In reviewing the YELP reviews, I happen to come across some excellent reviews on Nigel Mulgrew Plumbing Services. I called to make an appointment.

Nigel came out to inspect my job. He was very nice, professional and honest.

After the inspection, Nigel was concerned that my granite countertop could crack after the bathroom sinks were removed. He wanted me to be aware that it could happen but said his workman could possibly do it but he prefer having his friend (Kevin Burke's Tile) who is skilled in that area remove the sinks.

Having it done correctly there would be less of a chance for it to crack. I was very thankful that Nigel went over everything with me so I would not have unrealistic expectations.

He said when the sinks are installed he would send over his workman to hook up the sink plumbing. I had no idea what the process would be until he explained it to me.

A few days later after my bathroom sinks were installed (they look beautiful by the way) Nigel sent over Joel and Pablo to hook up the plumbing. The guys were professional, very polite, they even took their shoes off and laid a special floor covering over my bathroom floor to keep it clean.

We had a water leak issue where water from an upstairs bathroom was leaking into the kitchen. Andrew sent out his project manager who opened up the kitchen ceiling to look at the pipes and then ran a number of different water tests to determine where in the shower surround the water was coming from.

A few days later, after we stopped using that shower, we noticed more water coming into the kitchen. This time, Andrew sent out two of his guys who opened up the ceiling in the kitchen quite a bit more and then tested both bathrooms upstairs.

It turns out that both were leaking into the kitchen as a result of aging grout/caulking. They were at my house for nearly three hours the second time around and I didn't get charged for it because Andrew said he just wanted to make sure that I was happy with his services.

Within an hour they had a plumber - Joel come and fix the problem. Joel was very professional, assessed the problem right away, and solved it much quicker than I expected.

Also, he provided me with the direct contact information of his boss - Andrew, just in case I have some other plumbing problems and cannot reach Joel immediately. I had to call the company 2 weeks after they fixed the water heater problem.

Once, someone was scheduled to be at our house between 11 AM and noon, due to a jam up at the previous job schedule plumber was unable to make it within the time frame.

Joel the plumber who came out today to do the work was patient with my questions, and did a very nice job on all the fittings and pipes and drain lines. After calling many, many plumbers due to a leaking pipe the day after Christmas, Nigel was the only one to respond.

I called On Call at 3:00p on a Saturday due to a broken drain line in my bathroom sink... he arrived less than 45 min later and gave me an estimate of 245 because there was some significant work to disassemble my old sink and get in to replace the piping...

took a fair bit longer than he hoped to get it done but everything works perfectly! He actually had trouble getting the sink basin back on level and ended up coming back Monday at my request to try to adjust it and got it all back to perfect without charging me a dime over the original 245 estimate! Fast response and honest work Never answers phone when calling and when he does he just hangs up on me. Bad service.

I am calling because I wanted an estimate & possibly have it done the same day because we all need to use water everyday. So I was a bit hesitant to call this company because it had no business photo & not too many reviews to read off of, but I took the chance anyways because I really didn't have another choice in the position I was in.

I called On-Call pluming this morning as something was wrong with our sump pump. All I knew was the damn thing kept running even when it was clearly empty.

We were naturally worried the pump would burn out and then sewage would spew forth in our basement. Not a pleasant thought.

Anyway, I called On-Call and he said he could be here within the hour. I was going to be out for a few hours and he graciously accommodated my schedule.

When I got back from my appointment, On-Call was waiting in my driveway. An hour and a half later, my sump was working once again and my leaky toilet was fixed to boot.

Once he discovered what the problem was (a broken switch), he gave me the option to replace the pump ($1200) or attach and external float that would override the broken switch ($25) which he had in his truck. I went with the external float.

I really appreciated that he didn't push for the more expensive option that probably would have been more lucrative for him (a trip to buy the new sump, another visit to install it, etc.). On-Call was honest, responsive and knowledgeable and prices were reasonable.

I'll definitely call them when I have pluming issues in the future. And when it does come time to replace that sump, you can bet I'll call On-Call to get the job done.

Joven responded very promptly and came out on the weekend when it was convenient for me. He had very reasonable prices, and completed the job much faster than expected.

I had a backed up bathroom sink he fixed, and a slow draining shower he improved. He also explained why the shower had a slow drain, which had to do with some piping when we switched from bathtub to a shower.

Contacted camex to fix an outlet in my kitchen. Appointment set up was done by text and they were on time the day of.

We hired Angel to help us perform a main panel upgrade which included a new underground service line in the city of San Francisco. After personally coordinating with PG&E, 811, and having all utilities marked properly, we were set to begin the project.

We didn't have a date scheduled to begin the work, and one morning I received a text message from Angel saying he was ready to begin. I was not at the property but I trusted Angel to begin the job since the sidewalk had been marked properly and we had a very simple and clear plan of action.

About 4 hours later I received a phone call from a PG&E damage inspector who had happened to drive by the property. I was informed that Angel's brother had showed up and begun cutting through the sidewalk with a wet saw, nearly severing the gas line and cutting a path well outside the agreed upon specifications.

I immediately called Angel and told him to halt all work, and found out that Angel was in fact "sick" but had sent his brother to start the project without him. When I got home, I was bewildered at the destruction that had been caused.

Besides opening the concrete in a different location (under the entry door no less, and not to code in the city because it would require 3 conduit sweeps..the max is 2) none of the cuts had been planned using a straight edge or chalk line, all of them were at odd angles and one of the cuts even hit the raised foundation and cut into it by about an inch. It all looked terrible, with a lack of planning, organization, and management, and all the sludge and debris was left with zero cleanup, clogging the drains that are critical for rainwater runoff in the winter (this was January of our wettest winter in years).

His brother is clearly not capable of operating independently, and should never have been sent without supervision. Further, Angel was the one who told him to take a different route than that which had been approved by PG&E, and he even blamed his brother for what happened when he is the owner of the company.

Thank God the PG&E inspector stopped the madness when he did..I can only imagine if things had continued. We ended up having to cancel the contract.

I had paid Angel up front for the permits plus a down payment. I had to threaten to go to the CA Labor Board to get some of the money back.

I ended up having to pay some $500-$750 extra to jackhammer out & pour concrete slab in areas that should have never been touched, and also lost the $350 spent on permits which had to be cancelled since they were under Camex's name. I then had to find another electrician to finish the work properly, and all told probably lost several nights of sleep, at least $1k, and nearly 3 weeks of delay on the project.

He even tried to tell me that under CA Labor board rules I had to allow him to remedy the situation and finish the project before I could ask for a refund. This is true, but these rules do not apply after such gross negligence.

I do not recommend Camex for any serious electrical work. Further, when I revisited the company reviews on other sites, I found reviews that he had clearly either posted about himself or had a relative post about him.

"Mr. Angel" langauge here and there the way he talks such as those on Porch.com.

He is not up to date with the latest building codes in the city of San Francisco and should never have taken our job. But, also my fault for hiring somebody who does not have BBB accrediation after a decade of doing business.

Angel immediately went to work by taking the initiative to drive to the site, coordinate with the customer on-site directly to get a walk through, assess what was needed, and provide an estimate which he did all within a few hours of my request. Amazing! He also sent me all the Certificate's of Insurance required by the customer along with the estimate.

He was my guy! I met up with him the following day to provide a deposit on the job, and we got it scheduled for the next morning. The best things about Angel are his communication, flexibility, and his integrity.

He provided updates every step of the way. He texted me pictures as the job progressed, worked directly with the customer as much as possible which saved me time, and ALWAYS responded promptly to my dozens of text messages, emails, and phone calls (even on weekends) during this process.

When the project was delayed by a few days due to issues on the customer's end, he adapted and worked with the new schedule. When asked to go back to fix a couple of small things that weren't in the original scope, he jumped on it and didn't charge extra.

My Dad was recovering from major surgery and they were living in a crappy hotel, and then in one bedroom of their new house - with no kitchen and half a bathroom.

Angel came right away, evaluated the situation, and within two weeks he had gotten more done on the house than the other guy had done in 5 months! Within a few more weeks, my parents had a beautiful kitchen, lovely bathrooms, hardwood floor, and excellent paint job indoors and out.

Angel and Camex put in a huge beam to make an open plan kitchen/greatroom and fixed the horribly mangled electrical job the previous guy had butchered. I was really really impressed.

I then went ahead and hired Camex and Angel to help remodel for the other side of our duplex - for an aging-in-place update for my mother-in-law. New kitchen that was arthritis friendly, new bathroom fixtures, new no-slip vinyl plank floor, new electrical work, and full painting indoors.

Angel found some truly scary electrical problems and I'm so glad we fixed before the house burned down! He installed new venting for kitchen and bathroom, and a beautiful kitchen that she is in love with, and all in just a few weeks. Reasonable cost, excellent quality work and superb communication and problem solving.
