He discovered the issue within minutes and put in an order for the part I needed right away. Justo, On October 21, 2024, your company scheduled an appointment to snake out our bathtub.
The ACI technician, Luis Alfaro, arrived as planned. I explained that our bathtub was backed up and needed to be snaked.
However, because we have a back-to-back shower arrangement with the master bath, this setup complicates the process of using the snake to locate the clog. Luis spent 20 minutes trying to snake the tub, but unfortunately, he was unsuccessful.
He explained the complexities involved in snaking a bathtub in this setup. Luis mentioned that another option would be to access the clog directly through the vent located on the roof.
He went outside to look for the vent and found only one large vent, which he said was for the toilet. However, he did not see a smaller vent that would typically be for the bathtub.
Since the vent option was off the table, he decided to send a ACI drain specialist to inspect the main line with a camera and locate the blockage. Shortly thereafter, Andres Lopez arrived.
He proceeded to inspect the main line and informed me that my cast iron pipes were in poor condition, particularly in the troublesome area which was completely blocked. He stated that my only option was a complete excavation (jackhammering through the floor) of the bathroom to replace all the piping for the tub.
He then provided a quote of $20,200 for a full re-piping of the bathroom, permits, etc. I instantly knew that I needed to seek a second opinion; $20,200 was not an option! I discussed this issue with our family friend and contractor, and he gave me his recommendation for a second opinion.
Within 60 minutes and for $360 later, the plumber unclogged the tub, restoring it to full operational status. Here's why your professional plumbers failed and misdiagnosed the problem: Most professional plumbers know that showers and tubs typically need a vent.
In my case, my shower vent connected to the main vent, meaning the tub, shower, and toilet shared one vent. This would have been quickly identified if your plumbing specialist had thought to inspect the main vent with a camera.
My plumber, cut a hole in the drywall to access the vent. He made a small incision in the vent and was able to successfully snake the drain.
I'm wondering why your professional plumbers didn't solve the issue. Frankly, I expected more experience and knowledge from "ASI".
I know my cast iron pipes are old and will need repair at some point, but I wanted to solve the problem, not be pitched on a $20,200 solution. It saddens me to think that some people don't seek second opinions and may end up spending exorbitant amounts of money on something that can be resolved much more simply and affordably.
I would not recommend ACI to friends or family that's for sure. Furthermore, Luis & Andres were very kind and courteous and on time.
I had a leaky sink and wanted faucets replaced. I called ASI.
ASI arrived on time, very respectful, did the job I needed, and found another issue which they fixed. The reasons ASI is so good are as follows: arrived on time, respectful, nice demeanor, decent price, did not try to up charge me by having me do things that were not necessary, and job performance was excellent.

Difficult job to replace 20gal waterheater located in back of winecellar under the house and built into a hillside. Old unit clogged & couldn't be drained so they cut all the connections and muscle carried it down stairs and through 4 doorways before getting to an area it could be drained (a full 20gal waterheater is HEAVY).
They managed to get it out without damaging ANYTHING - remarkable!! Administratively ASI was somewhat disappointing, you see they installed the failed waterheater in 2018 so the unit was still under a 10 yr warranty and was to be installed charging labor & parts only. Got lots of sales pressure from initial ASI rep (Jamar) to also install a new 50gal waterheater in our basement, a new water pressure regulator, and a new electric cutoff for the 20gal unit they were to install.
When Patrick & Daniel arrived I told them we only wanted the work done that was REQUIRED to get us a new 20gal waterheater installed and NOTHING ELSE. Our original invoice quote was $3827 but that was dropped to $1660 - wish they would itemize their invoices to show labor, parts, electrical, plumbing, etc.
A new 50gal basement waterheat was also quoted at $4500 extra. Written job description by sales rep Jamar: "need to swap out 20 gallon water heater under warranty and will charge customer labor only to install.
Will need to upgrade water heater install with electrical disconnect box for permit." I asked what an electrical disconnect box was but he couldn't answer, just told me to ask the electrician on the day of the job. When I asked the electrician if a new electrical box was needed and he said, 'yes' but then dashed off before I could ask more.
Looks to me (see photos) that an old dedicated but unused 220v circuit was rewired to 115v and an identical grounded outlet was installed a few feet closer to the new waterheater - surely electrical code didn't 'REQUIRE' this action. Since ASI doesn't itemize invoices I have no idea how much this cost me.
FAST service for us! Had a leaky copper pipe on a Monday. Called our usual company & they said everyone's working overtime, and they would charge us $235 just to come out and then the repairs would be double charged!! Obviously I didn't go with them.
I found that very weird. So I called ASI & they were here within a half hour, no charge to show up no double the repair cost.
Our technician, Eddy Lopez, was very friendly and figured out the problem very quickly. We scheduled him to come back the next day to fix the issues and he came with another tech who I don't know what his name was, but they fixed it pretty quick! And they actually had white gloves on, which I found a bit comical, but that's their gimmick, right ?! Evan was Professional, Kind, and efficient! I have used ASI (The White Glove Guts) for 8 1/2 years now. It started with heating and then air conditioning.
They replaced the "free" thermostat that SDG&E's affiliate installed in my entire mobile home park. The first month alone I saved enough to pay for the new thermostat.
They installed a new furnace when my old one gave out. I moved on to plumbing and have all new copper pipes in my home.
I have the club plan with them, so they do all my maintenance. We were able to save our furniture, including the bed.

I reached out to ASI this morning and first things first, they were able to schedule an appointment within two hours of me calling! I agreed to the initial diagnosis fee of $77 and the receptionist explained that if I needed a repair that fee would be applied. Jacob Elwing was the technician who arrived in Less than the 2 hr window given; he was smiling and professionally dressed, and wearing the white gloves as seen on many of ASI's TV ads.
He was very personable and seemed very eager to help me solve my AC problem After I answered a few of his questions about the history of the unit and citing my concerns, he did a thorough inspection inside and outside my home. He was very patient to explain what the problems he found were and gave his recommendations, WITHOUT pressuring me to decide if to repair what could be repaired or to allow one of their reps give me a bid on a new unit, considering that my unit is 14 years old, he took time to answer all of my questions as I was wondering if it made sense to spend a lot of money on repairs that wouldn't guarantee that the unit would continue to work as hoped or if I should start all over with a new unit.
he discovered that two wires had been separated inside by the unit. He reconnected those and got the motor outside to start running again.
he also found that oil is leaking from the heater motor and that there is an issue with the refrigerant. He was very careful to show me the pictures of his inspection findings.
He presented me with a membership plan for $19.95/month - the plan offers so many benefits for servicing and maintaining my AC, Heater, and addl 10% discount given for plumbing repairs. I decided to join for the time being, ( no contract/ cancel anytime) at least until I am 100% ready to spend a huge chunk of money on a new system.

Quality of service from ASI excellent and nevertheless disappointing. Even though our home is pretty new, we had our HVAC inspected by ASI.
We figured, better to do it now rather than when something is broken. The inspection was a great price and gave us peace of mind.

We recently had ASI replace our water heater and conduct a comprehensive plumbing inspection. The technicians were amazing, exceptionally professional and technically proficient.

Your company tried to take advantage of my 85 year old mother by telling her that her AC compressor was dead and that she needed a new unit for a total of $21k including the new air ducts. TWO other companies came out the next day and told us it was just the capacitor.
It was a simple and very inexpensive repair. In the VERY LEAST both of the techs you had come out should have told us the real issue and given us the OPTION to fix it or get a new system.
Instead, your techs lied and said the compressor was bad and a new compressor would cost "almost" as much as a new unit, therefore recommending a new unit. Interestingly enough, the compressor is and was just fine! This is appalling and unacceptable.
You guys instead, tried to price gauge my mother by lying to her. Back in July we spent thousands of dollars with you guys on a plumbing issue- I'm now wondering how much that project would have really cost if we had another plumbing company come out and do the repairs.

ASI plumbing is great. My kitchen drain was clogged last night, I called ASI, someone answered phone right away and scheduled me for today.
This afternoon their technician came, he was very nice and helpful. He took time working on my drain, and was very thorough.
The price for the service was also incredible! I wanted to commend the service I received from ASI, starting with the scheduling of my appointment thru Alejandra, on the front desk. She is one of the folks who helps navigate ASI customers to find a solution to their need.

Fast, efficient and courteous. On June 5, 2024, ASI conducted an AC Tune Up and Professional Cleaning on my two Trane heat pumps which were installed in December 2011.
My concern pertains to the upstairs unit. See attached redacted invoice -24534 of Jun 5th.
The initial AC Tune Up indicated that the upstairs unit was aging but functioning within manufacturer specifications, producing adequate cold air. However, during the evaluation when the gauges were being connected, my roommate reported unusually loud gurgling noises from the air handler inside the house which had never been heard before.
Additionally, at the end of the tune-up, I heard significant hissing noises when the gauge hoses were disconnected. On June 16, 2024, upon activating the A/C for the first time since the service, the unit failed to produce cold air.
I contacted ASI, and on July 16, technician Garon Williams returned to inspect the system. He discovered that the system pressures were so low that the unit was rendered unusable.
See redacted attached invoice -45072 from July 16th for Mr. Williams' account.
I dispute several of these points and mischaracterizations: 1. "System was low on refrigerant" and that there was "possibly a leak." The June 5th invoice did not indicate low refrigerant levels or a potential leak, and it stated that the system was operating within manufacturer specifications.
2. System's Condition and Imminent Failure: The claim that the system would fail on a hotter day was not part of the initial service discussion.
The unit was within specifications, and the statement of "borrowed time" appears to be an attempt to encourage replacement. The previous invoice confirmed the system was functioning properly.
3. Integrity and Professionalism: My main issue is the unit's immediate failure after the June 5th service.
Mr. Williams' report misrepresents my statements and has added to my frustration.
When Mr. Williams failed to restore the unit or provide an explanation, I remarked that I wished they had never connected their gauges.
He IMMEDIATEDLY proceeds to ask if I questioned his integrity (his words not mine) in his work. Again, given that Mr.
Williams was not going to shed light on the unit's failure nor make any attempt to restore its functioning, I didn't disagree. However, I NEVER said the words 'integrity' nor 'morals' nor any other related words as he states in his write-up.
And I take great offense to this accusation! An HOA board member witnessed the interaction and can corroborate my account. Additionally, Mr.
Williams' claim that his previous evaluation had 'fallen on deaf ears' is inaccurate and dismissive. I regret choosing ASI for my service as I strongly believe that my A/C unit would still be functioning had ASI not performed the tune-up.
The unit's failure after the tune-up suggests a potential technical error. An A/C tune-up should not lead to an immediate equipment failure.
ASI's lack of response, along with Mr. Williams' defensive report indicates a possible issue on their part.
ASI claims to values integrity, trust, communication, and quality; however, my experience has not reflected these values. Additionally, I find their focus on selling replacement units, rather than repairing existing ones, to be environmentally irresponsible.
Despite being advised by Mr. Williams that I would receive a call from his supervisor, I have not received any follow-up communication.
Based on my experience, I do not recommend ASI's services. I recently had the pleasure of dealing with several technicians from ASI.
Someone from the company contacted me for a free inspection plumbing inspection and a free HVAC checkup (a follow-up to the new equipment I'd purchased not long ago). One gentleman did a very thorough plumbing inspection and made several recommendations.
Then another guy came out to inpect the A/C, furnace, etc. I continue to be very impressed with the professionalism of every single person I have ever had the pleasure of interacting with at ASI.
It is obvious to me that everyone is well-trained and knowledgeable. I will definitely continue to recommend ASI to anyone who asks.

I have to change my 5 Star review of ASI to a ONE STAR. I purchased solar panels from ASI in 2017.
Tom, now the GM, said when you need to replace the roof, we'll come out and remove the panels, store them onsite and reinstall when the roof is completed. Today, it's a different story.
Now I have to pay to have it done. I've been a monthly member with ASI for quite some time.

They replaced the original 2 HVAC systems, including the outdoor condensers, as well as the installation of an attic thermal protection system, in one weeks time, with minimal disruption for my wife and I. ASI Hastings deployed a "full company engagement," as my wife and I benefited from the excellent work of the following professionals: Josh Mario Mark Aliric Taylor Gabe Max Mario Bobby Davis Jerry as well as Roxanne The overall project management of such a large endeavor reflects well on the caliber of ASI Hastings' competence.

Pricing is a little high with ASI, but they did a good job, and tech and on the phone they are courteous. Asked to install a couple faucet shower cartridges and they wanted like $400 each, the parts from Moen are $30- it's a 20 min job, maybe 30.
I would recommend ASI if you want a clean nice tech, who won't scare your wife, but be prepared to pay, post Covid prices and inflation are in full effect. I've used them for AC work in the past, don't recall it being so costly....

came out first to help me clear it. We were certain we got it the first time but I'm thinking it just broke loose and continued down the line where it stuck again a few days later.
Chris promptly came out this same evening and did an exceptional job making sure it was cleared all the way to the tank on the second visit. Chris was professional, knowledgeable and informative.

I needed a faucet to be replaced, so the guy came and surveyed the entire house to give us a quote on everything, but wouldn't do the faucet then He came back and did the faucet, but 1) didn't clean up, 2) should have replaced the trap bu didn't, and 3) left the shut off valve so it was half way, neither fully open of shut, and wouldn't deliver the flow it should. It was way expensive, too (I think I signed something that OKed that at first) .
I found a handyman who fixed everything for so much less $. He fixed the above faucet and put in all my other ones very nicely for 1/4 the cost ASI provided exceptional service for my 19-year-old air conditioning system.
The technician, Israel, was courteous, prompt, and highly knowledgeable. He educated me a bit on my old system and offered valuable recommendations for a future upgrade.
Highly impressed and grateful for such professional service! Anthony Dev came out today to diagnose a problem with our 13 year old A/C unit which stopped blowing cold air. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional.
He gave us options to fix and was also able to get someone out same day to give us quotes to replace the entire upstairs system including the ducts which were 23 years old (we have 3 independent heating and air units in our home). He even waited for the quote guy to arrive.
We didn't feel rushed and both he and Joshua were great to work with. We have been very pleased with ASI overall.
We used them to replace another unit in our home a couple years ago after getting several quotes. The price was good and the work was done on time.
No complaints. They were our first call this time.

It's rare I do a third follow up on a post but, when a company takes the time to try to earn back the business and understand what the experience was, that speaks volumes. Let me preface the following by noting, the previous post was written without calling the ASI office to follow up on my experience and unease of not having someone re-evaluate our project now that the pipes were exposed.
In seeing my post and disappointment, ASI called me to ask for more details and see what they could do to rectify the situation. At this point, we had already moved on with another plumber.
My assumption therefore is the disappointment I had was a blip. Lesson learned! We will reconsider using them in the future and I will call the office directly if there are any issues vs only reaching out to the assigned team member.
So I feel SUPER ripped off. We have used ASI for just about everything as well as them doing our ac (and more "upgrades" when they do their yearly check).
Shower repair that was super expensive (shower still leaks). New faucets...you name it, we've called ASI.
So the most recent issue, low pressure in two sinks and they told us we need a REPIPE. I'm not one to just say "hey let's do it" (they quoted us a ridiculous amount), so I called around to get a few bids and one guy came in and said "that's not a Repipe issue but I'll give you a quote." So we called another plumbing company, told them the issue: came out, told us what needed to be done (John Padilla).
Took care if the issues (crappy cheap faucets that asi provided) and a few replacements under the sink. BINGO my water pressure is fixed.
Saved me 25k dollars. I am SO pissed off.
ASI will never set foot in my house again. I've been taken for a ride that you don't want to go on.
I could go in about allllllll the crap that they said we needed and we DID. Steer clear.

We highly recommend! Had Cole come out today to replace a toilet. He did a great job and was very professional, but it was a simple job, and the charge was $500.00, which almost knocked me off of my feet.
This job was worth $200.00 - $300.00 to me, but I had to get it done today so I paid it. Good job, but waaaay overpriced! So as I was taking a couple of days of thinking about this.
I came to a conclusion that this was all about corporate greed. This all started when I had a technician from ASI come out and told me that the evaporator was leaking and that it needed to be replaced.
And mind you this system was only 10 years old. When this nice ASI gentlemen and his helper asked me where is this unit at, and I told them its under the house, the first thing they said was, what a nice and professional installation this is.
And I will have photos to show shortly. But to let you know that this unit is in a place where you can walk up to and easily access it So I gave them the reigns to proceed.
I went into the house and not long after the two gentlemen knocked on my back door and said, can I come look at what they were going to install. When I went down to see what they were talking about, This comes back to corporate greed, It was a used, bent up, scratched up, fins on the evaporator were all bent, and I was thinking that this is going into a house, that the unit is under the house, that the homeowner would never see and they would make the $4,56400.
They ran into the wrong customer, who prides himself on professionalism and thank god for these two honest installers, who had the courage and dignify to come to my back door and tell me that they could not go home and sleep at night knowing that they would have put something that's substandard to the installation that was already there. You could tell that they were embarrassed, and I don't put the blame on these two wonderful gentlemen, but the blame on management, the warehouse worker who gave the equipment to the installers.
but mainly ASI It took me 2 days after my first call when I saw this crap to be installed to finally here from this so-called clown supervisor, who offered no apology. and only wanted to put the blame on someone else.
The blame is on him and the so-called supervision of his staff. I ended my subscription due to this episode and stunt that they were trying to pull on a customer...Please be aware I've been an ASI customer since 2018.
I am also an ASI Rewards Member. This is a general review for all the staff of ASI, from the scheduler, to the receptionist, to the recent plumbing inspector Dakota and to the recent plumber Jay who came out to our home.
My experience with ASI has always been a positive one whether it be with plumbing or HVAC. I wouldn't repeatedly do business with this company if I wasn't satisfied with the quality of work and service that they provide.
They are not the cheapest around town but the old saying applies" you get what you pay for." They always have friendly, professional, and competent or well-trained staff! I know I can always rely on every single person at ASI to keep our home safe, and our plumbing and HVAC system running smoothly. I highly recommend them.

He didn't try and upsell anything today even though it was a 28 point inspection of my a/c unit, but did explain some potential future problems and had taken pics to show me. Super polite too.
