We had a busted water heater that was flooding into the neighbors downstairs condo. I scheduled him for some non-emergency work, so I can't speak from experience about that, but he showed up on time and finished the job in the window of his estimate. He didn't not surprise me with any other charges after either...

This is a follow-up to the last review. We are not at all happy with his company.

When they installed the 75 gallon gas water heater almost two months ago, they said" oh will take care of any problem." Now they're referring us to the manufacturer AO Smith because there are still bubbles in the hot water even after a month. Very unhappy and sorry we use this plumbing service! He has been contacted the manager and owner in office several times and their response has been pretty much to just contact the manufacturer.

We've never had that happen with previous water heater installations. The plumber who installed should take care of it.

Also the receipt they Supply do us had the wrong model number on it. They made an excuse about that also.

Something as simple as routine maintenance on our water heaters and Matt, as always, was on time, courteous, and professional. Williamson Plumbing and Mechanical has replaced a branch line for us, replaced our old water heater with a tankless, fixed our malfunctioning shower and I'm sure multiple other things I can't even remember.

Marcie Williamson Plumbing and Mechanical helped us get through a water leak issue we had on July 4th weekend. They came out the following Monday to assess the damage and start the mitigation work right away.

Charge very reasonable and most inexpensive of all the licensed plumbers I called in for the job for an estimate. We have to replace our pressure regulator and valve and they tried to down regulate pressure first and once they were able to confirm it cannot be (due to wear and tear), they recommended changing it.

Very transparent, no upselling, no charge just to check your pressure (which some companies charge), very friendly and honest. Please use them for all your needs.

They are prompt in scheduling appointments. Quick responses to any questions and thorough follow up.

They seem to do work all over San Diego (I live in Rancho Bernardo but they mentioned they travel to Carlsbad as well). Our gas line pipe to our backyard was having issues and our BBQ, Fire pit and tiki torches would not hold gas pressure and nothing would work.

I called SDG& E and the pressure from the street was fine, I called a different plumber and they spent two hours doing pressure tests, blowing out the line, etc... with no fix to the issue.

I called out SDG&E again and still nothing. I even called CPL Detectors and they mapped out the gas line and what they thought the issue was but they were wrong as well.

Matt installed my Kitchen Sink, Instant Hot Water Dispenser, Drains, new Lines, Water line for ice maker, and everything else that required his services for my new kitchen. I also have a rental condo in La Jolla and he replaced a faulty ice maker valve at the refrigerator line in my rental property the same day I called.

The other day my tenant called to tell me that the kitchen faucet handle broke off in his wife's hand and it looked to rusted to fix. I called Matt and he made some suggestions but then called me later that day and picked up the best faucet he could get based on my budget and then the very next morning replaced the faucet (tenant said it was so rusted on that he had to cut the old one off).

Matt was also conscientious enough to let me know that the reverse osmosis filter under the sink was installed using cheap valves that could cause a leak plus he suggested we replace the original (almost 30 year old) valves with angle stops while he was under there. The rates were extremely fair, especially base on such short notice, not to mention the service from a trusted, licensed and insured contractor! While Matt was at my rental, my tenant informed me that the bath tube was not draining well and asked if Matt could take care of that during the same visit.

Matt and his team fixed everything! My tenant called and sent me a text telling me that he and his wife were very happy with Matt's work. He went on to say that Matt and his team were very professional, cleaned up after themselves and said the space under the sink looked even better than before Matt arrived.

I recently hired him to do the plumbing in my bathroom during a remodel. Since we had the walls open and we know how common slab leaks are we decided to have all the pipes rerouted from the slab to the attic.

Was a lot of work but they got it done. Thanks! I had slow leak in my ceiling and Jake came out to investigate.

He determined quickly that it was the copper pipe that had corroded and needed to be replaced. The repair process lasted one hour.

When I asked him for an estimate of the repair he told me he was not involved with billing and that the office would send me a bill for an hour's work. The invoice came several weeks later and the cost was $180.

Although I thought the work was satisfactory I wish I could get an estimate of the work to be done before completion. This way, there is no sticker shock when the invoice came.

I have no idea if the price was fair or not, although I am giving them the benefit of the doubt. This is the only reason why I did not give them a five star review.

I had two toilets removed and two new ones installed. Due to the constraints of my bathroom size, the team successfully and professionally installed both toilets.

I wanted to get an estimate done to replace a shower faucet cartridge. She said they were booked for several days.

Ten seconds later she said a week. Towards the end she said they were booked for 2 weeks.

It seemed like she didn't want the business. It maybe hard to remember a day when local tradesmen took care of their neighbor's needs: carpenters, electricians and plumbers.

I had a big outfit install A/C in our home 3 years back and the condensing drain was installed using a pump up and over through the attic into the garage laundry drain. The pump failed in the AC room and flooded our hallway.

After reviewing situation the AC room already had a PVC stub and it ran to a stub in the 2nd bathroom. After taking a couple of Pix and reviewing with Matt, he and son were out the next morning, connected in an hour, and a permanent non mechanical everlasting GRAVITY connection made.

I called and left a message for Matt because water was leaking in my garage, which I expected to be my water heater giving up on life. Not expecting a call back that same day (I left a message after 5pm) I receive a call back from Matt and he said they could be out to take a look the very next day! I discovered water coming out from our baseboard one morning and without really knowing who to use I asked a neighbor who I trust for suggestions on plumbers. I had tried to call some of the big names but got the same response..it was Monday and they would not be able to come out that day.

He was gone for about an hour. When he came back with the $15 part, it was about twenty minutes to install and then explain what he did.

I needed my toilet and shower moved from one place to another. These guys were great.

They came in with a good estimate with everything that was included. From the start to end they wore their mask which must be tough for the effort they put in.

They put in our tub and left the site prepped for me, a beginning DIYer, to do my tiling. There was a little leak that all of a sudden happened and they tightened it up quickly without fuss.

Matt is great! The pilot light on my water heater kept going out so I called several plumbing companies on Saturday because I wanted them to come check the thermocouple. The only one that actually answered was Matt.

I explained my situation and he agreed that it might be the thermocouple. Matt and his technician, Mark, came out within a few hours on the same day and after testing some things on my water heater and cleaning the vents out, decided it could be the thermocouple that was not working correctly (he tested it and it read that it was functioning ok but thought we should change it because it was cheaper than buying a whole new water heater.

They changed it and it worked! Sadly, the next day, the pilot light kept going out again. I called Matt and he advised that it could be the gas (knob/controller?) but that may run $150 or higher- we would have to purchase it online from the company and wait for it to be delivered.

He said that my water heater was 9 years old and changing the gas knob/controller (I can't remember what it is called) may or may not fix the problem. I decided to just get a brand new water heater since it was already getting old and so I wouldn't have to worry about it leaking later or worry about the pilot light going out again.

Long story short, he came over on Monday and replaced the old water heater. He didn't charge me a service fee since he was just at our house.

I trust Matt and would use him again. He is super friendly and honest.

2/28 In response to the owner's response below Yes, the repair call was to replace the shower cartridge to stop the leak. However, it's common expectation that everything has to work the way it was after the shower cartridge is replaced.

The fact that the maximum water temperature is much lower than before the repair means that the job is incomplete. I only discovered that in the evening when I tried to take the shower.

Your plumber did ask me "if the water is hot enough" but he asked without context. I was working while he was doing the repair.

He asked me to come over to feel the water to see if it's "hot enough". I went and felt thinking he's doing some routine check..the water felt hot so I answered "Yes".

I had no idea what he was trying to do and he did not tell me either. If he asked me "This is the hottest temperature setting.

Is the water hot enough?". I would have said "No, it's not hot enough because the hottest temperature setting originally is much higher".

He simply asked me without any context. Sure, maybe I should've asked him what the context of his question is looking back.

But I didn't know better as I was busy working and I simply responded to his question without knowing the context. Also, he was throwing out "F WORDS" while working and ignored some questions I asked him, it made me feel quite uncomfortable to even stay nearby to watch him work and I tried to leave him alone.

So you simply took my answer as a reason not to stand behind and warranty your work and completely ignore what your plumber did. I don't think that's fair and professional.

I also did not even mention your plumber's work let air into my pre-circulation pump and now it's not working. I did not even ask you to repair that.

ALL I am asking is to restore back the original maximum water temperature as it's supposed to be. Now you want to charge me $125 to come back to fix something that was altered by your plumber in the first place.

That does not make sense to me as the job is incomplete in the first place. It should have been done under your labor warranty.

Sure you fixed the drip, but you also messed up my maximum water temperature and you're asking me to pay a trip fee to fix what you messed up. It's insane and unreasonable.

Think about that from my point of view and not just from your own point of view when you were also not there with your plumber. Due to unforeseen circumstances Matt was a little late but he informed me beforehand and was extremely courteous and professional when he showed.

He replaced my shutoff valve and fixed my water tank in about 15 minutes. He did the job right and was efficient, I couldn't ask for much more.

Matt installed a washer dryer hookup in my condo bedroom closet and it turned out perfect! He is highly professional, skilled, honest, and did it all at a fair price. I absolutely recommend him.

Armstrong did an excellent job for me on a full house repipe. This is a 3-bath, two story house built in 1985.

I decided on a repipe after discovering a slab leak. I talked to and received quotes from 5 contractors in all and decided on Armstrong because after meeting with Matt Farmer (Operation Manager) I sized him up as someone who knew what he was talking about and would be conscientious in execution.

His quote for the work, as I discovered, was reasonable and fair. I liked very much that with Armstrong, the person who gives you the quote and explains what the job entails is also the person who does the actual work, at least in the case of a big job like this.

Before deciding on what company to use, I want to have met and taken the measure of the actual, principal worker. (With some contractors, an estimator comes out but then they in turn hire whomever on their list happens to be available.) One thing Armstrong did for me is surely not typical of plumbing contractors.

I told Matt that I wanted to do the drywall repair myself instead of using a drywall contractor. (I had been told by then that my cost for the drywall work, not including repainting, would likely run $1,500 - $1,800.) I am handy in a general way and although I had never done drywall or anything related to construction, I figured I could learn to do it.

(I was right.) When I told Matt my plan to do the drywall repair myself, he said that they could make the cuts neat and rectangular, and do it so that I would have wood exposed that I could drill into; that they could even put in a piece of wood for screws as needed. They were also careful to keep any cut out square that was still in good shape and were able to put two of them back in the wall.

Not only that, but they told me what tools to buy to do the drywall work and I went to Home Depot and got the few hand tools I needed, a "dimpler" for my drill, the mud they recommended (Westpac premixed lightweight) and a first spray can of wall texture for doing the texture called knockdown. As I was doing my first repair, on the wall behind where the dishwasher goes, they gave me pointers and Matt demonstrated with the drywall knife.

When I was looking at having to do my first texturing on an area behind a toilet that was ready to go back, Matt actually did the texturing for me so I could watch and learn to do it. (If you have knockdown at your house versus, say, orange peel you are lucky because knockdown turns out to be easy and fast to do.) The intro to drywall that Armstrong gave me made it possible for me to get started right away and achieve good results.

I completed the work needed so they could put two bathroom mirrors back in place and reinstall a toilet. With the other openings, which are in ceilings and walls and will be visible, I will slow down and take my time.

When I have told people (that would be two neighbors, a family member and a staff member in the construction dept. at Home Depot) how Armstrong helped me get started on the drywall, their reaction has been uniformly along the lines of, "A contractor did that for you?" They did it and they did it with good grace.

A final thing stands out for me. The dishwasher was put back at the very end of the job.

(I don't use the dishwasher day to day because I don't generate enough stuff to wash to make it worthwhile.) When we ran a test, in the in the dishwasher's drain cycle the water started spewing out of the release over the sink. It turned out that the guy who initially installed the garbage disposer some time back failed to remove a plug that allows the dishwasher to drain through there.

The plug is supposed to be removed by the installer before the unit goes under the sink. Matt was able to get in and remove the plug, after which the dishwasher drained properly.

I consider it a courtesy on his part to have done this troubleshooting, seeing as how not only was this not his mistake in the first place, it was, truth to tell, outside the scope of the repipe he had quoted and that I was paying him for. I'm pretty most contractors would have said, this is a separate problem and I will fix it for X amount.

So, Matt, thank you for that. All in all, I feel like I hit the jackpot with this company.

They are professional and easy to work with. They communicate well.

They will ask you what your preference is if there are different options at some juncture in the work, and explain each option. The team of two, that would be Matt and another plumber, worked very well together.

The three people in all who did work here all were very experienced plumbers, not trainees or novices. Matt himself has about 20 years experience and it shows.

Thank you guys for the AMAZING service! Not only did they expeditiously arrive to fix my irrigation leak (after another company cancelled at the last minute) they provided me with information that disproved an overpriced quote of even another popular plumbing company. I'll be canceling my "VIP" service from the other company and calling Matt and Mark again for my future plumbing needs.

These guys were great! I called for them to come out and give me an estimate on a home I'm in the process of buying. They were profesional and so helpful.

I will definitely be using them in the future. Absolute life savers! I had a leak occur on a Sunday night during a holiday weekend and Armstrong Plumbing was the only company to understand the urgency of the situation and come to the rescue.

I had called about 6 other plumbers prior to reaching out to Armstrong Plumbing, and all of the other plumbers didn't want to take on an evening job and wanted to wait until the morning. With my ceiling caving in, I continued to call around because I live in a condo complex and the only other way to stop the leak was to shutdown the water for the entire building.

Even though Matt and Eric were already fully booked for the day, they sensed that I was in desperate need of repair and came around 10:30pm that night after their last job had finished. They got right down to business to repairing the leak and were nothing short of excellent.

They were very knowledgeable with what to communicate to my insurance and they even had their recommended drying company to come out that same night. All of these guys didn't even up leaving until midnight, and this was a Sunday night nonetheless.

The most surprising part was that Matt and Eric charged a much lower price that I was expecting, especially considering this was an emergency job late at night on a holiday weekend. Armstrong Plumbing is definitely going to be my go-to guys for anything now.

These guys are our new go-to plumbers. We noticed a leak on the bathroom floor and we discovered that base of the toilet has been cracked.

We contacted the property management, but they stuck us the bill since we did not notate the damage when we moved in. The crack is totally not visible when you are just looking at the toilet and we did not think to bend down to look down the base of the toilet when we moved in...

We operate small business and the budget is tight, so we called around few places on Yelp and Matt from Armstrong Plumbing gave me reasonable quote and sounded professional. Other places tried to tell me that toilet that has bolt 14 inches from the wall is more expensive, or we need valve replaced and etc...

Matt told me technician would be on the way. Mark called me prior to arrival when I can expect him, then he showed up on time.

He was a friendly professional guy and he quickly shut off the valve, removed the bolts and inspected everything. He told me that all looks good and it will be simple toilet replacement job.

Before he went out to get the toilet, he gave me ETA. Mark finished the job on time, then took the old toilet through the warehouse instead of quick office path so that water does not drip on the carpet.

It was a small job but they saved me time and hassle by using an adapter for a new faucet I had purchased with the wrong size lines. I really couldn't ask for more! I had estimates from others but they always had "but if" in the next sentence.

His estimate was clearly under others and that is with a water heater upgrade included to pass city codes. I was helping my mother in law which is 90 with a gas leak which SDGE had red flagged the house.

At that point I think I made up my mind to go with this company. Mother in law confirmed it by liking the big guy, Mark.

Calling Matt to accept to see what paperwork and upfront money he needed surprised me again with a simple " text me to get started and payment when job is done. They took care of permits did the job above expectations and kept the work area clean.

What more could you ask for, how about a hug from Mark for a grateful 90 year old that is on fixed income. Do I recommend these two guys? Hell ya....
