I manage apartment buildings. My handyman happens to be a licensed plumber.
There was a major plumbing problem with one of my units while I was traveling during August 2022. My handyman essentially served as my eyes and ears as he navigated the problem, bringing in Collins, his regular employer at that time, owing to the size, scale and equipment needs of the job.
Job was eventually successfully resolved. Cut to October 2023, we received a Collins invoice for the first time, 14 months later, coupled with some not so subtle threats of collection action if we did not pay up promptly.
I explained that that was the first we had seen their invoice and of course we were never contacted prior to 10/2023 to be alerted that payment was even overdue. We are in fact scrupulously prompt payers.
Details were somewhat sketchy to me owing to the 14 month lag and the fact that I wasn't onsite during the project to begin with. When I consulted my handyman as to the legitimacy of the charges, he pointed out 2.5 hours billed for the services of former colleague whose task it was, we are told, to verify or to try again to penetrate a drain line my handyman had already deemed impassable.
Ok. I can understand a second opinion, but 2.5 hours worth, at $105 per hour, after your own skilled plumber has deemed the line impassable? This along with the 14 month billing lag leave me a bit dubious.
In the interest of full disclosure, my handyman parted ways less than amicably with Collins. With that said, the handyman is as honest a tradesman as I have ever worked with.
Made my case Collins and they were as unmoved as I am unhappy at the questionable $262.50 charge demanded 14 months after the fact. Okay.
I agreed to pay the invoice as written but while I'm not convinced I will most assuredly not be fooled again. Approach Collins with caution.
Update: Justin from Five Star Plumbing suggested I call his drain guy "Anthony Carlson", you can find them both listed on Yelp. Anthony looked at our toilet and said that right away he noticed the mineral deposits on the inside of the toilet.
It was plugging up the jet hole that pushed water into the toilet at every flush. He scraped it away and my toilet is now flushing.
It was a simple and affordable fix. He also gave us tips on how to prevent the issue from recurring.
That same day, Collins Pacific Plumbing sent me a Yelp message stating they wanted to send someone out to fix my toilet again. I told them it was fixed by another plumber and there was no leak or any other issue with my toilet as their plumber had fear mongered and charged us $245 for a wax ring replacement and $86.40 to auger my toilet.
He lied on the invoice stating that he was able to get the toilet flushing on its own but not consistently. Then he suggested we replace the toilet for an additional $350.The Collins plumber also wanted to do a "walk around" and went into our garage.
It was odd and made us feel uncomfortable because the toilet is in the bathroom why does he need to see our garage?? I asked them for a refund and now I get no response. They are a scam.
Stay away. Any seasoned plumber would know the easy fix, so the plumber knew exactly what he was doing to make the most money he could from the clueless customers that we were.
Call Anthony Carlson for drain issues and Justin for plumbing. These guys are honest.
I reached out to get a Faucet installed and get new Angle stops and they were great, responsive and friendly. Would recommend! The water in my backyard cannot shut down and kept splashing water.
I've been calling for every emergency plumbing service that I found online but no one responded because it was Sunday evening. I was panicking because the water has been splashing for an hour and it's getting more and more.
My backyard has started to turn into a mud garden. Thankfully, Russell responded to my text and gave me some advice on how to shut down the regulator valve first.
He apologized for not being able to pick up my call but has been patiently replying to my text. After the water was successfully shut down, he gave me the option for waiting until tomorrow (Monday) for him to fix the spigot at normal hour rate as compared to emergency charge on Sunday evening.
I did not engage service with him because my husband managed to replace the spigot after water was shut down. I was really grateful that Russell was so attentive despite it was already after his business operation hours.

Excellent customer service .Knowledgeable, friendly and efficient repair person arrived on time and was able to complete the repair to my satisfaction. I had Collins Pacific Plumbing replace the toilet flanges and angle stops for two toilets.
I also asked the tech to change the fill and flush valves on one of toilets since they were old and the toilet is mounted under the counter so you really need to remove the tank to get to the valves. It makes sense to replace the valves at same time you do the flange.
Of course the plumber only replaced the fill valve. When I asked about the flush valve he said I wasn't clear that I asked for that to be replaced.
The next day the toilet kept running water after a flush and they came back and there was an issue with the flush valve gasket dislodging. The toilet cover is hard to remove since it's jammed under the counter but there were able to take it out.
Collins wanted to charge me $120 to replace the gasket which is cost about $2 at Home Depot. If Collins had done the job right to begin with, I wouldn't have this lingering issue.
Collins wasn't cheap to begin with but less expensive than the bigger plumbing companies. Although at least the bigger companies do a better job based on my past experiences.
I replaced the flush valve gasket myself but the black rubber tank to toilet gasket also needs to be replaced but requires the tank to be removed which is a bigger hassle so will wait on that. I could probably do that myself, but then there would not be any purpose to ask a plumber.
If there are any issues in the future, I will NOT use or recommend Collins Pacific Plumbing. Mike did an amazing job! Collins Pacific always responds quickly and are very efficient.
Highly recommend I discovered a leak at my water meter box near the street and looked online for rough estimates. My issue seemed very clear, there was a visible leak inside the box, past the meter.
I could hear and feel the leak. Let me tell you, there was no shortage of companies that tried to scare me into paying outrageous prices.

Hired them to install three toilets on the first floor in a 2016 house; an easy job. They did a fine job.
Only about 2.5 hours for two plumbers. They did show up an hour late which was a bit of an issue since they requested to start at 7 am.
I had all my tenants up and ready for them at 7 and then they didn't show until 8 am. I would say the value for the $ amount was good especially compared to other companies that bid, but not great for an easy job.

The water heater was only three years old, and the big name plumbers wanted to upsell me on a tankless and a new softener instead of simply maintaining the heater anode. Didn't pass the smell test, so I followed the high reviews to Collins Pacific.

My home's overhead plumbing sprung a leak and we had a reservoir of water in the ceiling dripping down the walls and outside. First people I called was Collins who came out and although they are not water damage restoration or drying experts, they did everything They could to help.
They also thankfully knew their limitations and did not cause any damage to the house by cutting into the wall because we had asbestos we found out about later, and it ended up being a $50,000 project that needed to be handled with my insurance company but we didn't know that and Collins came out twice , two work trucks, to try to Assess our needs and after all that work, in the end, charged us nothing. And recommended the company we did end up hiring to help.
That in my book is wonderful service. If I have plumbing needs--, normal plumbing needs like most people have-- I will definitely call Collins again.

When trying to install a new bathtub spout, the copper pipe broke. I reached out to Collins Pacific Plumbing, Inc.
and Aaron helped me out. We got on a call the morning after I initially reached out, spoke about the issue, and set up an appointment for that afternoon.

I am a bit sad to give them this rating, but ultimately they caused a lot of damage that could have been prevented. They came to unclog my sink and punctured the copper pipe, which caused a flood in the basement and in my unit.
They had to cut the drywall to fix it and ultimately a $300 job became a $700 job when taking into account fixing the drywall and extra time they spent at my place. I am not a plumber and they knew that copper pipes could be damaged when using a snake.
They never asked what type of pipes my condo has and never told me that puncturing a hole in the pipe is a common issue. I was informed about that after the job.
The guys were fast and fixed everything, there are no more leaks, but I would prefer to be informed of possible issues before they started the job. Called and spoke to a rep, had me send in pictures of my leak, then never got back to me.
