We had a leak in our water supply line between the water meter and our house. I called First Aid Plumbing at 1:00 pm and told them my problem.
Alex introduced himself and said that there would be someone here in less than an hour. The plumber arrived in about half an hour and looked at my problem.
Basically, the whole underground PVC pipe from the meter to my house was failing. A large pine tree, now over 40 years old, had roots that were destroying the water line.
He gave me what I considered a very reasonable price (less than I expected!) to replace the line with modern PEX. 6 hours later, the job was finished.
The trench that was required was neatly covered and the sod replaced on it. Further, the crew was great.
I watched some of their work and they carefully explained everything that they were doing. I have had other plumbers do repairs here.
Before they finished their work, I was thinking "just get it done and get out of here". I didn't at all feel that way with First Aid.

Unfortunately, we had a miscommunication during the inspection followup; however, despite this being a situation that might have easily turned sour, Alex maintained a high level of professionalism and understanding. We were able to resolve the issue satisfactorily due to Alex and First Aid Plumbing's genuine desire to maintain good customer relationships; this goes a long way in giving one a sense of trust in the job they perform.
Do not use First Aid Plumbing. We have a Rinnai tankless water heater.
It has been fine for ten years but started beeping and showing an error code for a leak after Hurricane Beryl. We called First Aid Plumbing and the technician came out and said it was not repairable and we would need a new $5300 water heater.
It would be more, he warned, if we needed a new vent through the roof on a newer model. We got a second opinion from Hot Water Guys and what a difference.
In minutes, the HWG technician diagnosed that some water had blown into the roof vent in the storm and caused a temporary error code. There was no evidence of a tank leak or ruined heater.
But the First Aid tech had disconnected the unit so even when it dried out, it still wouldn't work and we'd need to call him back. For a $165 visit, the HWG technician reconnected the unit, restarted it and it works just fine.
He was even able to accommodate doing the annual maintenance flush same day. From sterling friendly dispatch service to honest, timely and effective repairs, I recommend Hot Water Guys heartily.
Stay away from First Aid. We were nearly taken for $5300.
It is especially unconscionable as, like so many Houstonians now, we are dealing with hurricane damage and price gouging companies like First Aid make the whole community worse for their predatory behavior. Alex and his team are great, installed a shower pan for my bathroom remodel.

He was very thorough in explaining the work, offered a couple options to do the test, and quoted a fair price. Once we agreed to go ahead, he kept me updated with text and photos of the work in progress and he got the job done quickly that same day.
The hydrostatic test is not something that every plumber can do (one other plumber couldn't do it and another didn't respond and a third was wishy washy about it) so I felt Alex was one of the more experienced plumbers in the area. This review is for services that were completed on 10/07/2022. First Aid Plumbing fell in the middle of the pack in terms of pricing, which seemed competitive to a person that is no expert on plumbing and plumbing prices.
I received some quotes that were lower and some that were exponentially higher. I've learned that a lower price is not necessarily better.
I respect Alex's transparency, even when it was difficult for me to be fully knowledgeable and transparent about the issue at hand. The work actually ended up being deeper in some sections than anticipated (as prefaced by Alex) and I was not charged extra for the additional digging and work for related repairs.
Out of all the quotes and discussions I had regarding cause(s) of the breakage in the sewer line, Alex was the most transparent and showed me the issue on the camera and physically (when the pipe was unearthed). Another outlet was built out for potential future sewer line cleanouts.
I don't know if anything can be done to position this access point towards the back of the yard (versus a higher traffic area) but this is the only change I would have wished for from the service. It looked like teacher (Alex) and apprentice (Rogino) worked well and respectfully together and that makes for a winning team that ultimately supports and respects customers similarly.
It also makes for fast and efficient service. Thank you for mending our (spot replacement) sewer line and preventing the fourth back-up in the house in less than three months.

These guys are great! I needed to install a gas tankless water heater and a gas line to the kitchen in a house we just purchased. We had everything scheduled to start the work, but then the Artic freeze hit the Houston area.

I don't normally leave reviews unless the service was horrible or fantastic, in this case, these guys were really fantastic. I had a leak to my main shut-off valve and Sebastian came out to assess the problem on the same day and fixed by the next day.
After replacing the valve, we discovered the burner went out in the water tank. He replaced that the following day.
Each issue was quickly assessed and repaired with all costs quoted upfront. Throughout the repairs, he explained what he was doing and answered all of my questions.
He was always punctual to appointments, stayed as long as he needed to complete a quality job and kept my house clean the entire time. Sebastian even followed up afterwards to check that the water was running okay.
