Review and analyze now for company Bellows Plumbing, Heating & Air and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''Bellows has installed our HVAC + plenum, generator, new sewer line, and this month has done a main panel replacement. For the panel, the team of Derik, Christa and Julie Truss stuck with us creating solutions when our electric power utility threw up road block after roadblock over the course of five long months for our routine panel replacement.
We really felt like the team had our back. The price was good, and we never felt nickel and dimed when they had to take multiple extra steps due to the utility.
Highly recommend this team for their honesty, tenacity and kindness. We hired Bellows to upgrade service panel to 200 amps and install a whole house generator recently.
We were happy with the work. Crew always on time, very professional and friendly.
Hired Bellows again to upgrade panel in outbuilding, replace/add some outlets and add lighting to a dark basement. Once again they did an excellent job.
Office staff is also very responsive and is great at communicating scheduling with PG&E and planning departmen. Bellows did yearly service on AC, gas heater and tankless water heater.
I highly recommend Bellows and will be using them for other jobs. I hired Bellows to replace my water softener and install a reverse osmosis drinking water system under the kitchen sink.
They were a pleasure to work with from initial contact to installation day. The crew (Eddie and Mario) represent Bellows very well.
They were polite, professional, knowledgeable, good communicators, efficient, answered all my questions, and cleaned up the project areas before leaving. When I started this project, I got 4 bids from local plumbers.
They were all in the ballpark. I selected Bellows because of the affiliation with Costco.
This was a pricy project. But I consider it a good value given the positive experiences I had with them.
They did not disappoint. I would not hesitate to hire them again.
They installed a very expensive high end lennox gas heater at my house 2015. Variable speed, high efficiency, etc.
Did a just OK job. Installer didn't do some of the things they said would be done when quoted.
Well OK - A little irritating, but I went with it. My thermostat just failed (screen dead but still works via the app) and I wanted some idea of the cost.
Its a common problem all over the internet - iComfort #10F81 thermostat screen fail . Internet says lennox dealers are charging $1800 to replace with S40.
So I called Bellows to inquire. They said they don't discuss any price information over the phone and would be $180 to come out.
Surely they have replaced *many* of these and they are unwilling to even give me a best case cost. So I'm out and you should go somewhere else too.
Read the rest of the reviews - lots of problems with them. But hey, they always drive around in nice trucks - guess I know why.
Customer lost. We agreed to pay $16,000 to have our AC and furnace replaced.
They had issues installing it and in the end it still doesn't work. Last night the thermostat temperature in the house read at 82-84 while the AC was set at 72.
This is a brand new AC installed within the last week. This is so wildly unacceptable.
So happy with BELLOW'S service!!! I didn't know who to call for service work for our home HVAC and tried calling 3 companies. When the gal for Bellow's answered the phone, I knew they were the one.
From the first call, I got a friendly, knowledgeable and efficient person on the other end. I got good prices, agreed to a date within a two hour window that week.
Our technician, Keith, arrived to service our unit. He was friendly, our dog liked him and he got right to work cleaning our air conditioner- it was really dirty.
Keith was meticulous. It works so much better! This is the way a business should be run.
We are so impressed and relieved to find Bellow's to work on our HVAC, gas heater, and our water tank. Thanks Bellow's and thanks Keith!! Jeff was an amazing technician, he was courteous, efficient, prompt and showed me the issue with what was causing the problem.
He had it fixed within an hour. If all of Bellows employees are like Jeff, they are a top quality company to do business with.
We had Bellows install our HVAC system in 2019. The quality is questionable, the system is only 5 years old and we've had to have replacement parts installed twice.
Each time the crew inspects the system it's a flat fee close to $200 and even though the warranty has covered the parts, installation fees exceed $600 (+/- $800 per incident.) The last breakdown was three weeks before the heat wave and while it was scheduled to be fixed before the one week we needed it, they called to say they "ordered the wrong part" and would need to put off our service for another week+. I asked if they would consider giving us a discount since they made an error that left us without air conditioning the most punishing week on record and they said they "don't give discounts." I do have a few complaints, gutter drain spout was removed.
I would have to assume the cost to replace it. Three holes in interior wall.
Not a happy camper! We had Bellows install our HVAC system in 2017. It ran fine until we had them come out to do a routine tune-up.
The thermostat stopped working when the technician was doing the tune-up. He couldn't figure out why and said it may come back on its own in a day or two.
He suggested we buy a new thermostat at a cost of over $1500! He left, and we tried to call their office over this suspicious failure of an expensive part just as we were having the unit serviced. Nobody returned our calls from Bellows.
Fortunately, the thermostat did restart (after 3-days of no heat to the house). At that point, I quit trying to get a hold of them.
The lack of knowledge about the thermostat by the technician and the failure of the company to return our calls or show concern about our lack of heat was totally unprofessional. I can't in good conscience recommend Bellows to anyone else.
UPDATE: After posting my unhappy review, I got a response from Bellows later that day. They sent out a senior technician (Jeremy) the following day who evaluated the problem (faulty thermostat).
This particular Lennox system came with the thermostat as a package deal. Unfortunately, the thermostat was problematic.
Bellows replaced the thermostat with a top-of-the-line one for just their service cost: A much better result than we expected. And Jeremy was extremely knowledgeable and friendly.
Still unsure why Bellows didn't respond to my initial calls earlier, thus a 4-star review instead of 5. But, we are very satisfied with the end result.
We contacted this plumber to get a quote for cleaning our ducts and were told it would cost $3,000. They insisted that the only way to clean our existing vent was to create an opening in the roof and install a whole new vent, claiming it was 'impossible' to clean otherwise.
Thankfully, we got a second opinion. Another company cleaned the ducts for just $190 using a snaking device, with no need for any major modifications.
Very disappointed with the initial high quote and unnecessary recommendation. I would not recommend this service based on our experience.
Mike and Miguel from Bellows came today to install our furnace replacement, and they were awesome. They worked solidly all day, then took me through the workings at the end.
When they cleaned up, they even put the garage back in order, which was unexpected and appreciated. Recommend! Jennifer was the best yesterday!! She called and arrived on time for a Lateral Sewer inspection in Aptos.
Very professional , polite and fast !! Would recommend her for any plumbing work needed . Thank you again , appreciate your help !! I bought an older home 2 years ago.
The infrastructure had quite a bit of deferred maintenance. I've used Bellows for plumbing, electrical and HVAC work and had excellent service each time.
The office staff is courteous and efficient. The contractors are professional, friendly, and excellent in their knowledge and work product.
I highly recommend this company. I was so pleased with Juan Garcia's ability to quickly fix the dripping faucet problem in the bathtub.
He was so knowledgeable and was quickly able to get the parts needed saving me time and money to have this done. Bellows has friendly, knowledgeable and efficient technicians working for them and I rate them 5+ each time I've used their service! Thank you for being a truly amazing family business!! Judy R.
Eddy and Julio just finished replacing ALL the pipes in my small house. They were really great as was the whole team including Mario, Will and Nick.
They did the work as promised, but took extra care to make sure we knew what to expect and never hesitated to address any questions or concerns we had. Great job guys, thanks! I signed up for periodic maintenance.
Easy to arrange. On time.
Well executed. This company sets the standard for excellence, and the job I did multiple bids on showed that you don't have to pay extra for excellence! Excellent! Will have them return once I need their great service! Thanks again for installing my new water heater! Hear Ye, Hear Ye Hear Ye! This company is first class because their people are first class! I just can't say enough about Jax and Dax, the two guys that came out and facilitated moving two large propane tanks about 20 feet from the original location.
They literally dug the ditches to code requirements, laid the polyethylene pipe and put everything back together, leveled the ground, cleaned everything up behind them and left this place looking so much better than when they got here! They were prompt, professional, polite, and so courteous. Mr.
Bellos these two fine young men represent your company so well, they are truly assets of the organization. I also want to give a shout out to my plumber from 15 years ago Pete Johnson, who actually moved both these propane tanks in 2008/ 2009.
Thank you Pete for being the same Great Guy you were 14 years ago, no wonder you're in leadership. You are a great commander and lead by example.
And thank you for putting Will in charge of the project. He was great to work with and communicated so well.
He actually picked up a shovel and helped dig the ditches right alongside Dax and Jax before he went onto his next appointment. I just can't say how pleased I am and how grateful I am that we have Bellos's plumbing headquartered right here in Santa Cruz county.
No wonder they are Costco's preferred vendor. Sincerely, Ron Quick and great friendly service.
Installed a new heater and I don't even hear it. lol They refused even to come out and try to diagnose our a/c problem! Instead, they just wanted to quote us to replace the entire a/c, without even finding out what was wrong.
A company that refuses to help with a problem will never get our business for replacement work (and now I see that this vendor has multiple bad reviews for new installations!). As a result, we're calling a competitor who has a basic understanding of "customer service".
On their one previous visit, they wanted to charge us $300 to replace a return filter that I bought and correctly installed myself for $13, after their visit! Even their proposed solution, of cutting and joining 2 filters together, was amateurish and wrong, since I was able to do a much better job by custom-sizing only one! (I'm writing a blog article about that.) This vendor is overpriced, has the customer skills of an earthworm, and is useless when you actually need someone for non-trivial work. Their lame response below merely confirms my complaint.
Their claim that "You were aware of this assessment but chose to see if the system could continue working for a bit longer without replacement" is demonstrably false. Their technician did not even look at the outdoor unit (he only looked at the indoor filter!), so he could not possibly have provided an accurate assessment of the state of the system.
If they had really given us that so-called "assessment", then of course they would have given us a quotation to replace the system at that time, but they did not do so, and seemed quite happy for us to continue using it without any recommendations (except to replace the filter, which I did). UPDATE: 24 hours later, our system is fixed and working properly, NO thanks to Bellows! A competent competitor diagnosed the real problem--a failed capacitor--and fixed it where Bellows couldn't even be bothered to look at it.
The competitor's callout charge was half that of Bellows. So, if you want to waste your time and money on a bad, overpriced diagnosis, be sure to call Bellows! Had a near-disaster in our house - a leak in our concrete slab foundation which led to a number of other issues.
Once we identified the source, we called Bellows and they had someone out that day to assess and help us plan how to address it. It ended up being a massive re-pipe of the whole house.
Bellows was quick to get someone out to walkthrough, and estimated it to be a 7-8 day job. They prioritized our project, sent Zach and Eric out, and those two guys hauled through the entire re-pipe in four days.
They were responsive, timely and worked incredibly hard to get us back in our home as quickly as possible. The communication was always clear, and they were willing and eager to walk me through their work each afternoon to make sure I knew what was going on.
Was it cheap? No, but when it comes to plumbing, I'm a firm believer that you get what you pay for, and this is a great example. Thank you for getting us dried out and back on our feet! After the gas had to be turned off because of a gas leak, the furnace would not turn on and so we called Bellows.
They booked an appointment very quickly and sent Jeff who soon identified the problem and was able to fix it right away. I was impressed with their courtesy, thoroughness and efficiency.
Their technicians are very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Bellows.
Dax and Jax from Bellows Plumbing just came to replace 2 toilets in our new house and they made us Bellows fans for life! They were fast, smart, did fantastic work and were two of the most delightful people we've ever met. (Hang on to these two, Bellows!) Definitely recommending Bellows to all our friends! I have used Bellows to make home repairs for years.
The technicians are professional, timely, and experts in their technical fields. Although more expensive than other plumbing and electrical contractors, I believed the service Bellows provided was well worth the expense.
While I highly recommend Bellows technicians, I cannot do the same for their accounting department. Although I had paid my account in full, Bellows initiated legal action against my home.
I can no longer trust this company. I was encouraged by Bellows and their affiliation with Costco until I placed my order and received an actual date for AC installation which is at least a week after the date noted on the order.
They knew my urgency based the vulnerability of my current unit with an upcoming heat spell. At least they could have set expectations they can deliver on rather than making promises just to get an order.
Three weeks of freezing! Purchased a new heat pump three weeks ago and it's still not working. Has been nothing but a nightmare! Had a heat pump installation three weeks ago and still no heat! After a three day installation, and several visits from their guys to try to fix the problem it does not work.
They keep changing their mind about what the problem is, one says it's the thermostat then the circuit board then the refrigerant needs to run and now I have asked about a new condenser but need mitsubishi rep to see it. The unit was built in 2022 and I paid for a new unit but they are selling two year old models As new.
I complained about this to the manager Stephanie. Today I received a note from a third party saying they will put a lien on my property and could take my house per state law 8100.
I could not believe it, they have not even finished the contracted work.! I still have no heat after three weeks. It is freezing inside my house and no end in sit.
Alexis and his crew did an outstanding job installing my heat pump system. Initially, he thought that the job would take longer than anticipated, leaving me without heat for the weekend.
It was of concern because of a cold front that was coming through then, dropping into the 30s at night. In anticipation, they brought me two space heaters.
But, better than that, they came early and stayed late on the last two days of the job. So, late Friday afternoon, the heat was on! Throughout the week, they were courteous, respectful, and tidy.Throughout the week, they were courteous, respectful, and tidy.
Kudos. Bellows has been great in servicing our boiler/furnace.
We have been especially impressed with Jeremy, one of their service technicians. He not only has been totally competent in doing all the work we asked for, but in addition, he has gone out of his way to show us just what he's doing, and to explain it to us.
Beyond that, he has been unfailingly, friendly, cheerful, and ready to go the extra mile when there's something more we would like him to explain, or to do. Bellows and we couldn't ask for someone better to serve us.
When you want service from Bellows, ask for Jeremy. I had a faucet issue, and one of my friends had called bellows to help me out, but I had contacted my warranty company myself so did not need them.
Unbeknownst to me, bellows had not been cancelled. So when they called, I had thought they were with the warranty company, so made an appointment.
I did call the company number asking "if the faucet requires replacing, does the standard $75 warranty price cover that ". They just gave me the "oh, we'll have to see what the problem is and evaluate it".
Fine. I thought that was standard since it was my first time working with my warranty company.
Come day of appointment, Bellows cancels my appointment that day stating they don't have a card to bill. Then they claimed they need to bill for the appointment after their plumber said they stopped by, but we were home all day and no one knocked, called, or rang the doorbell, nothing.
So they sent a $149 bill for doing nothing. When I saw the bill, I called and asked what was going on, then it was later figured out they are not with the warranty company.
I talked to a woman on the phone who confirmed I had not been the one to call for their service as the phone numbers weren't the same. The lady said she'd talk to her manager and figure out the bill, and i reminded her that no one actually came to the house that day anyways.
Get nothing back, so I think it's done. Then I get months later stating they still need the $149 bill fulfilled otherwise they'll send me collections! I promptly emailed back stating I thought this had been figured out, restated what I had told the lady months ago.
No response. I email again.
No response. Absolutely ridiculous and unethical behavior.
If you cancel the appintment yourself and no one comes, why are you still charging a fee??? Also, claiming that they have time staoped picture of them standing outside the door? After the texts saying it's cancelled as shown in pics? No one rang the doorbell, knocked, no sign of anyone at the door. Seems a pretty easy scam to stand outside, snap a pic, do nothing, then leave without telling anyone.
Very unpleasant staff. Especially Lisa.
Would not recommend them. We installed 4 mini splits at our new construction house at 23K contract.
With final installation of units Bellows did significant damage to walls even though they said there would be no further damage done past the first part of the installation, and so we needed to redo drywall and painting twice. In addition, before completion of the work and without anyone reviewing with us how to operate the system they installed.
They demanded for the full balance IMMEDIATELY. When I asked to pay within 2 weeks, a very reasonable lead time, especially during the holidays, Lisa from Bellows refused stated that she will start the process of Lien on the property , refused to review operating the system with me.
Super weird and rigid, poor customer service., I live in Capitola and the job was completed 12/15 I think, though I don't know for sure be because no one has told me the job was done and no one has reviewed it with me before calling me and demanding I pay immediately or they put a lien on my house. See photos attached I have really loved Bellow's service over the years.
Friendly, knowledgeable, kind and even humorous. Really wonderful people.
The last two fellas who came out recently I would have had stay for dinner, they were such an excellent and down to earth team! Regarding the replacement of the home furnace systems. Everyone my wife and I delt with was outstanding.
All the people we worked with were very profession and informative regarding the purchase and installation needs. The first person that came out to our home was Perry.
He was informative and helped us make the best decision for our particular needs and budget. Russell came out next to do a walk through to make sure everything was correct so the project can proceed.
He was very assuring and signed off on the project's design. Hansen and Alex were the installers.
Hansen was the primary installer in which we communicated. The installation of the two furnaces, duct replacement and air flow balancing took only 4 days.
Hansen showed us how to work the thermostats and went over the system from operations to maintenance . I waited over 30 days for a part to be ordered for my system.
They took photos to insure the repair/install would be smooth and simple. The appointment was confirmed 4 times, the person scheduled to be here, 2 confirmation calls, then said he couldn't make the appointment? The main office rescheduled for two hours later...
Confirmations sent again, rinse and repeat they called 20 mins after the cut off time to say; "The one person who could work on the system was not available?!" Such an enormous example of who Not To Call or let's just call it what it is Total Incompetence. Bellows installed a water softener (plus reverse-osmosis drinking water faucet) in our new home and every one of their technicians was polite, professional and smart.
We had Juan out from Bellows today and he was such a wonderful polite great worker we were soo happy to have such a competent person working on our plumbing! He's a gem! D. Morrison Jennifer did my inspection and was amazing.
She was very detailed and professional. She showed us how to fix things and the all important shut offs.
Jennifer should train all your inspectors. the people (guys and Jennifer) are excellent, very kind, knowledgeable and helpful.
They are a little expensive. I highly recommend Bellows.
They always do a high quality job. Keegan and Robert came in time, were highly professional and knowledgeable.
They installed new ceiling fans, balanced them perfectly well and left the area nice and clean. Jeff Labandeira did a check up on our heat/air and investigated some issues we were having.
He arrived when expected and was very respectful of our home. He explained everything in detail and was very thorough.
We felt very comfortable and confident in his skill set and trusted his assessment. Super nice ...
very friendly! Great customer service! We want to thank your hardworking team for helping my brother replace his 49 year old gas furnace. His mobile home heating unit finally died and your team came to our assistance.
What a pleasure to find a honest and reliable Plumbing and heating company here in Novato, Ca. We cannot thank you enough for making my mobile warm and toasty.
Fast, honest and clean, what more could you ask? Douglas K. Amazing system for confirming appointment, with multiple texts and sending a photo of the tech before arriving.
He showed up early! Follow up email with detailed description of service provided which the tech read to me before submitting. Super nice guy, solved our issue with our wall furnace in no time at all.
Turned out we had one very tiny leak that was solvable simply by tightening. No up-selling or bs, just a great solution to what another company told us was a total write off.
Make sure you get multiple opinions especially if the tech starts selling you a line about needing to fully replace a unit. Will absolutely use these guys in future.
We have used Bellows several times and, as in the past, are very pleased with their recent service. All employees I dealt with were professional, friendly and responsive to any questions.
Their quote to install a new water heater and replaced several hose bibs was very good and reasonable. The installation of the water heater and bibs was completed in a timely, efficient manner.
Their clean-up was great. Will definitely call them again when a need arises.
Derek Grover was excellent. He was fast & clean! On short notice, he installed the required equipment.
Extremely pleased from the super fast and good work from Bellows! They came out quickly and fixed the problem with no issues...I'm also very pleased to have them as my go to plumber for future issues that come up...I highly recommend them!! My mom bought a split heater cooler from Costco 5 years ago, it started to be less efficient so I called bellows plumber. Ryan Avila came out for the repair.
He is an incredible technician who came out when scheduled, very clean and well organized. I was so glad to watch him work and communicate with my mom.
It would be a pleasure to have him work on any of my projects. Thank you Ryan.
5 stars. Bellows is by far the best plumbing company in the Monterey Bay area.
Once I started with Bellows several years ago, I couldn't use any other plumbing service. They consistently go above and beyond each time I interact with them.
They're efficient, do high-quality work, are professional, and clean up thoroughly after a job. They are responsive, upfront, and answer any questions you may have.
Josh from Bellows came out today to replace my garbage disposal. His visit confirmed all the reasons I keep doing business with Bellows! Use this place only in emergencies.
Scheduling an appointment was easy. The plumbers and the phone/dispatch were all professionals.
The giant flaw with this particular experience was with their diagnostics and pricing. Check out the attached photo; it's a screen shot of part of their invoice/work order.
That's a Moen faucet which retails at Home Depot for $143. Check out the pricing that Bellows gave me: $829 (this includes install).
I said "nope". So they said they could back out $500 if I provided my own faucet.
Again, I said "nope" that and I got a second opinion. Apparently I didn't need all this work done, and all that was needed was some tightening of some valves - W T F bellows!? These plumbers poorly diagnosed my leaky faucet and tried to gouge me.
I've used them before and they gouged me then too. Plumbing gougefest.
There seems to be some sort of racket and/or price fixing; Roto-Rooter Plumbing are a bunch of crooks as well. They charged me $500 to unclog a kitchen sink.
Regular people don't know enough about plumbing to ask questions. When you have a leak or your water isn't running, you become desperate and you stop asking questions and getting second opinions (I get it) - these plumbers have become accustomed to this and now they are brazen AF.
Let's get the power back - ask questions, pick apart their arbitrary work order. .
. or don't - who cares.
We just had a wonderful experience with our Bellows installation of a whole-house generator. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, helpful, and professional.
The installation crew--Jacob, Krista, Eduardo, Robert, David, and Eric--were fabulous. They arrived on time, worked very efficiently, problem-solved tricky situations, and exhibited exceptional teamwork.
They went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. During the three days, Jacob provided clear information to us every step of the way and checked in frequently to see if we had any questions or concerns.
Clearly, customer happiness is of utmost importance to Bellows. Bellows had good systems in place for customer communication and notifications.
Everyone is great to work with. In general a great experience and much better than most companies, who don't pay much attention to implementing systems for quality customer communication and interactions.
I got a reminder text the day before, a text with the name and photo of the electrician this morning, a call from the electrician 10 minutes before they arrived. Made quick work of the problem.
Very happy. I had recessed lights installed throughout the house and some miscellaneous electrical work done (relocating a modem, adding outlets).
Keegan and his team did an amazing job. Keegan was very considerate about prioritizing the kids rooms first and ensuring we could safely stay in our home between work days.
He was very flexible with adjustments and even completed the job ahead of schedule. The overall service, communication, and quality of Bellows was top notch.
I've used Bellows twice now for plumbing services and am very impressed with Nathan Morris, their expert plumber. Nathan doesn't give up until the job is done to perfection.
He's a good communicator and explains the problem and fix so precisely that even a non-plumber, as myself, understands it well. Thank you for hiring the best employees! Peter Cornwell has done work for me in the past.
He is very knowledgeable, efficient, thorough and professional with his work. I contact Peter if I need plumbing services.
He is also very respectful and kind. Great experience today with Ryan from Bellows to diagnose/fix some problems we'd been having with our 2 heat pump/air conditioning units.
This was the 3rd company we've had out to figure out what was wrong and the first to successfully identify and fix (what should have been obvious) problems. Ryan was very knowledgeable, had sophisticated tools that he knew how to use, was friendly and happy to explain things - overall just clearly knew what he was doing!! And I thought the price for the visit, parts, and labor was very reasonable.
Highly recommend. We have been working with Bellows for a couple of years now on general plumbing (heat-pump water heater, sink leaks and upgrades, toilet replacment, etc), electrical work, and today we just replaced our heater.
Mike and Jamie were awesome, and went above and beyond! Very communicative, respectful and clean. There were some things that our HOA was supposed to do re: our project, but they took care of it.
Much appreciated! Waiting for the HOA can take forever, and then I would not have heat this winter! We are a part of the Bellows annual membership program, which has saved us a lot of money and kept us on top of plumbing, electrical and HVAC maintenance. I really appreciate how the entire company has communicated with me and today's repair was no exception.
It is nice to have a trusted company to call on. I've never had a problem with Bellows generally.
I recently had a service done by Josh that prompted me to actually write a review. My son had flushed a TV remote...
with lithium batteries in it. I called Bellows and Josh came out quickly.
Josh was upfront about what would need to occur, that he'd have to take the toilet off, and even then, it might not be reachable/maneuverable due to its size, requiring a full toilet replacement. We proceeded anyway, and the remote actually came out with the shopvac.
Really cool honest dude, enough that if I need non-urgent plumbing work, I'd ask for Josh when calling Bellows. We needed a new Water Heater to replace our 20 yr.
old one and we reached out to Bellows because of his Outstanding Reputation and we have used them in the past for repiping our furnace. Juan Garcia and Alex Diaz were extremely professional, personable and incredibly knowledgeable.
They had to update and stabilize the surrounding supports for earthquake preparedness, as well as, all the strapping and necessary supports to bring us up to Code. They went the extra mile on all aspects of the job and their attitudes really made our day! We recommend Bellows for any type of service involving Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning and Electrical.
Their service is Top Notch, Top Rated and Extremely Reliable. Sincerely, Patrick and Robin Hughes Dave Andrews from Bellows came to my Larkspur home to do a diagnostic check up on my heater which was making clicking noises.
He was professional, competent, and totally knowledgeable, running various tests to address the issue. He adjusted several ducks, checked out the blower, and the overall distribution of the heat so that it flows more evenly throughout the house.
The furnace and thermostat are now operating properly and I could not be happier. The pricing was fair and the office itself (including staff and management), could not be more helpful or responsive, just as Dave was.
Obviously, the reputation they have built of being reliable, competent and trustworthy, is fully earned. I highly recommend Bellows Plumbing, Heating & Air.
Janis Jeff at Bellows has done various HVAC work on my house and is amazing. Always very prompt, professional, and helpful.
Never had to deal with an upsell either. Definitely had a genuine passion in his work and ethics.
Absolutely great service. Our old heating system went on the blink during a cold spell and they jumped on the installation of a new system.
Very friendly, responsive and straight forward. And reasonable pricing.
Highly recommend them. Bob B.
Every interaction I've had has been very professional and anxiety free (huge for me). Today John came out to take a look at my wall heater - I have no idea when it was last maintained and when I had tried to turn it on recently it had started to smoke.
John took a look, cleaned it up and assured me all was well, much to my relief. I contacted Bellows for a sewer lateral inspection in Aptos CA.
They provided fast, friendly service and advice that saved me a significant amount of time and money. The technician was extremely knowledgeable and focused on providing the best solution to meet our needs.
Unlike other plumbing firms, Bellows has HVAC and electrical specialists so they can support all phases of system design, installation and repair. I trust this company and highly recommend them.
Bellows is a very professional organization that doesn't try to upsell you on things you don't need. Steve Huth was the representative who came to my home to check the air ducts in my heater.
He and his associate were relaxed, knowledgable, professional, and friendly. The phone sales rep was good, too and got back to me right away.
I also appreciate that Bellows sent me a picture via text of the representative who came to my home! Bellows has been great they repaired a major leak in the kitchen and replaced the water heater. Special thanks to Mike Murrow, Pete,Patrick, Amanda, Lisa L and Mario and Jax You all went the extra mile when you were needed most! Bellows was very easy to work with for a Sewer Lateral Patch repair.
Called and got an appointment for an inspection within days, and then Mike (Bellows inspector) was very helpful in explaining the work that needed to be done and recommended option. (Bellows was actually a second competitive bid which we looked into, and they pointed out an error with a competitor bid that proposed a repair for several thousand dollars more!) Repair work was conveniently scheduled for a couple of weeks later.
They took care of all the utility company dig area checking/flagging, pulling permits & arranging final inspection approvals with the county. Highly recommend Bellows! I am a commercial realtor and have used many plumbing companies.
Twice I have had the good fortune to have Jennifer as the technician on the job. Both times she has been amazing.
This last time she went so far above and beyond what I consider customary that I am wring my first ever yelp review. Jennifer, in the blistering heat was professional, cheerful, and willing to try stay until the job was completed.
She never wavered from the goal of getting the job done, and remained good humored and worked harder than anyone I'd ever witnessed to get the project completed. And, she followed up with an update on the status of the project a day later.
What's not to love about this kind of service! Hats off to Bellows for their team player. Thank you Jennifer and Bellows! Best, Carol We hired Bellows to install a mini-split in our house.
They were fast, courteous, knowledgeable, friendly and responsive. Hanson and Alex cleared out our old furnace and ducts, and installed the mini-split.
Jesse and Christian took care of all the electrical parts. They all showed up when we were told they would, worked hard, and cleaned up after their work was done.
We are thrilled. Well, it looks like we're starting 2022 with this whole ordeal behind us.
The morning after I posted my angry review, Bellows did send a crew to pump out the water from the trench, pull out the remaining debris that was left, and complete the backfill. I spoke to Stephanie and to Mike, who handles operations, and Mike ended up coming out the morning of the 31st to double check that the job had been completed and gave us a video of how it now looks under the house.
For the most part they apologized and took responsibility; there was a little bit of blame shifting because the County had signed off on a permit that I guess they shouldn't have until the job was finished, but ultimately I think they agree the buck stops with them. I added one star because we had originally used Bellows for a re-pipe that went fine (some communications hiccups but we were out of town so that was partly on us).
Unfortunately this job was the polar opposite of that experience so I can no longer use them or recommend them to someone else. This company installed our new heater.
Four years later, it stopped working, I called them and they were too busy to come out, their waiting list is nearly a month. Their fee to show up is $140.
I ended up calling JB Heating and Air, they came out three hours later and fixed everything for $89. Two great businesses, but one is too successful, and one is up-and-coming! I recently experienced a serious plumbing issue at my condominium in Santa Cruz that caused foul black backup into my bathroom sink from the sewer line.
I was naturally upset. The HOA sent Bellows representative Nathan Morris and he immediately put me at ease.
He is calm, soft-spoken, professional, and takes pride in his work. The job could not be completed that day, because it required replacement of a pipe line servicing my and two other condos.
It took a lot of work inside my unit and in the crawl space, but Nathan was determined to diagnose and remedy the situation. He explained everything clearly, and as an elderly person I appreciated being treated with dignity and respect.
Good job Nathan and Bellows Plumbing! There is no substitute for quality of work, and Bellows sales, project, and install pros set the bar high in central heating installation. Mike, Alvie, Jamie, et al., nice detail work and cleanliness, and excellent work overall.
They charged me for a tech to give me an estimate for a water heater replacement then the estimate was over 3k. Called another local plumber and got it done the next day for almost half of what they quoted.
Clearly they've gotten to large and think they can charge whatever they want. Had to eat the estimate cost but saved in the long run.
Look somewhere else. I had Bellows inspect my furnace.
They were thorough, provided great service, and provided me with a very fair price. Doing a kitchen remodel and called Bellows to install the new appliances because I had such a good experience with them when I purchased a new furnace thru Costco.
This was the exact opposite experience. When I called to make an appointment several weeks in advance of needing the work done, nothing was ever said about how much they charge to do the installations.
When the technician arrived, and started talking about the work, turns out you get nothing for them showing up ( which cost $149) and every bit of work is extra. With no prior warning, the estimate was $2500 to do the work.
When I was not just surprised but flabbergasted, the tech got extremely defensive as if I was attacking him personally. No mater how much I tried to tell him I was shocked he just couldn't get past his own "stuff," and seemed offended that I thought it was expensive.
After trying to explain that with no warning I was shocked by the cost, it became very clear he didn't want to do the work for me and so I sent him away. I'm very disappointed to say the least.
I guess their service under the Costco umbrella is great but independently, they are way over priced and rather arrogant about it. I also didn't appreciate the tech's attitude.
Bellows, I think your company ego is rather inflated. I recommend calling someone else.
We have been a long time customer of Bellows, and have on occasion questioned their ethics, but wanted to maintain our relationship as they hold many of our appliance warrantees. We were given a quote for a job that seemed very high.
I questioned it and managed to get Mike to tell me that the most expensive part of the job was the location prep work. We agreed to lower the cost when I agreed to do the necessary prep work.
The bid was still high as it was a bid and it covered worse case scenarios. When the techs came to the house, they assessed and told us that it was way easier than they first thought due to the initial assumption.
What was quoted to be a 1.5 day job ended up being a 4 hour gig. What was bid to be a full exhaust replacement and holes drilled into stucco, ended up being just a very accessible 6 foot section of exhaust off the main hot water heater, and the rest, easily swept.
The area was clean as I provided full prep coverage and trash bags for dirty pipe containment. When the techs indicated that it would be an easy job, I emailed the main office at Bellows requesting a new charge sheet that indicates the actual work done and the appropriate charges.
I didn't hear back until Sofia, the office assistant called for permission to charge the balance on my credit card that I had to give them with a 10% down before they would even schedule the job. I reiterated my request for an updated bid.
She said her manager told her no, that the job was already discounted, for the prep work I did, and there would be no further discount even though the scope of the job was a third of what they assumed on the original bid. When I pushed, she said she didn't like my tone and hung up on me.
Before she hung up, I clearly told her that she did not have permission to use my card. I immediately called my credit card company, and she had already placed the charge.
This isn't legal and it's very shady. Do not hire them, and if you do, dont give your credit card.
scammers! I work a lot with Bellows Plumbing in my Real Estate Business. I typically work mostly with Sofia Vargas, Mike Murrow, and Jennifer Galvan.
This team and their on-site field crew which includes Hector do a phenomenal job of staying in communication with me and always meeting timelines on time or even at times earlier than expected. I highly recommend Bellows! I was so disappointed with Bellows.
I had a problem with my furnace where the blower wasn't coming on. They came out to fix it the first time and it lasted a day.
They came out again and put in a new thermostat it lasted an hour. I called him to come out again and they told me I needed to replace my system.
They refused to come out again unless I wanted to replace my system. My furnace is only six years old.
It's pretty obvious there's a short in my system and it just needs to be found but Bellows wasn't going to do the work. And they charged me a tremendous amount of money including paying $300 for their year-long service which was a total waste.
We contacted Bellows with some specifics regarding our inside ceiling mounted heat pump - our A/C & heating were not working properly. Bellows was the 3rd company to come out (the prior 2 were through our home warranty) and try to diagnose our problem.
On 6/4/20, they sent a text with information regarding the technician coming out. I thought it was helpful that they also sent a photo of the technician.
Matt arrived with PPE (and also shoe covers) and took some photos, analyzed the temperature of the air coming out of the vents, etc. While they weren't able to resolve our issue, they did recommend us to a website to find companies that may be able to help us.
I was also very pleased that they appropriately addressed the diagnostic fee. Bellows was a fair, and honest company that I would happily use in the future.
Jennifer, Bellows plumber, arrived on time, provided a very thorough survey of all plumbing fixtures and flushed the water heater. She checked our water pressure and scoped our main sewer line.
Very professional and efficient! Bellows answered my phone request for a service call for our furnace. An appointment was made and, after a pre-call, letting me know he was 10 minutes out, Jonathan arrived right on time.
He was out the door 30 minutes later. Our furnace works great.
I'm extremely happy I didn't try to DYI. I learned long ago that I should never work on my own brakes.
It is the first question asked by the insurance guy after an accident. I would apply the same rule here.
and for the same reasons.'''.
