We had originally contacted Zorro, two years ago, when we were evaluating our water heater options. He helped us to weigh our options, which were a solar water heater, a standard gas tank and a tankless option, which comes with a LADWP rebate.

We ultimately decided to go a like for like replacement and go with the standard tank. We decided decided to move forward and completed the project today.

It took less than 3-4 hours for his team to rebuild the platform in a high ceiling garage that the water heater sits on and install a new water heater. The former platform had rotted and was wet from the water heater leaking; apparently it's best practice to have a water pan, which he also installed for us.

I can't believe that we waited so long because the difference in water warmth is night and day. I'd used Zorro and his team again.

They did a great job installing my water heater and were professional. They cleaned up after themselves and even looked at a different plumbing issue I had free of charge.

This is for an older job but Zohrab was extremely responsive, quick, and thorough. He easily coordinated with me and the tenants at the house for a new water heater install.

His team also helped install 3 new shower systems, when I ordered the wrong one, they explained the reason it wasn't compatible and sourced their own version that would be adaptable. They always gave me the option to approve the pricing and purchase before going ahead and then charging me later.

Zorro was always a great communicator and took time to answer my slew of dumb questions with patience and an ability to explain it to layman. We'll continue to use Z&H whenever we have plumbing needs! Couldn't recommend them enough.

Like many other reviewers, I had an old, 40-gallon tank water heater that failed suddenly a few years ago and drained out all over the yard - yay! I called 3-4 other plumbers to get estimates, but I ultimately felt most comfortable going with Zorro because of his responsiveness, his clarity in explaining options, and the large number of positive reviews on Yelp for similar jobs.

(It was also nice that their pricing was slightly lower than the others I consulted, but this wasn't my main reason for choosing them.) We discussed various approaches, and I decided to go with a standard gas tank replacement. The job was fast, easy and no-drama - just like one would like this sort of thing to be.

I never got around to writing a review for the water heater, but about two months ago, we experienced another Old House Problem. I thought I smelled gas, so I called SoCalGas.

They found more than one leak, and shut our gas off immediately (during a very cold week, I might add.) After several very frustrating days of no heat or hot water - and some eye-watering estimates from other plumbers to replace the gas line - it occurred to me to call ZH. Zorro responded immediately to check it out and give me an estimate.

A couple of days later, they had fully replaced the gas line (most of which was 100 years old) and re-piped the water heater and gas dryer more efficiently. This was not a fun or inexpensive repair to undertake.

Not only that, we didn't even WANT to invest further in natural gas infrastructure. However, converting an old house to all-electric takes considerable time, money and planning, and we just needed to take a shower.

So, it's done, we have gas and hot water and no leaks, and today, the HVAC technician even commented on the nice work done on the gas line. My recommendation? Have ZH come look at your old hot water heater and gas line BEFORE it dies.

Then you'll have time to figure out your options while you still have working appliances - and maybe even upgrade to something you can get an infrastructure tax credit for! What just happened?? Our old tankless water heater finally broke down last night. This morning I called Z&H after reading reviews and by 3pm today we have a brand new, high-tech new water heater installed and working.

The team was communicative, punctual, pleasant, professional, and efficient. They were transparent about pricing right from the start.

They took the time and care to install the new unit in the same tight space the old one was in as well - I figured we were going to have to remove part of a wooden fence to make it easier to access. They agreed that the burner and ignition needed to be replaced. They told us our hot water heater was unsafe to use and unplugged it while waiting for the replacement parts to come in.

It is freezing with no hot water at the peak of winter and already one month later and nobody responds, nobody has called, the most I hear is that "the part is coming soon." Pushed back and pushed back with absolutely no accountability or assistance. I stopped receiving any updates, texts, or phone calls while we went for 4 weeks with no hot water.

The distributors of the parts for our water heater claimed that no part was ordered by this company. I never could get any confirmation that Z&H Plumbing ever did anything to get the replacement parts.

It was as if letting us sit without hot water for 4 weeks during winter was of no concern for them. My take away message is this...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I was bit surprised when 2 young men, who look like they're in their early 20's, came to perform the maintenance service. I was a bit skeptical of their presumed lack of experience, given their age, but then thought it's only a simple cleaning/flushing service, so it's probably easy enough and doesn't need a lot of experience to do.

Apparently, that was a wrong assumption. The next morning, two of my units were without hot water.

I texted Zorro and to his credit, he and the 2 young techs came back out late afternoon that day and corrected the problem. It's disappointing that Z&H couldn't perform a simple maintenance service without screwing up not 1 but 2 tankless water heaters.

I'm not sure who's more at fault, the 2 inexperienced technicians or their boss, Zorro, for giving them an assignment they weren't ready for. But the most disappointing part of my experience is that when Zorro and the 2 young technicians came back out the second time to fix the problem, none of them apologized for their blunder.

I can be tolerant of mistakes made but not of the lack of courtesy of not apologizing for the mistakes, especially when it results in quite a bit of inconvenience (e.g., can't shower) to their customers. What I like most about Z&H Plumbing is the owner/founder Zorro's responsiveness.

I remember querying him on Yelp about my water heater on a Sunday afternoon about 6 years ago, and he got back to me same day (literally ASAP) and I used his services twice since then to change out a thermocouple on the heater, allowing my heater to last longer than the warrantied length of time. He also relit my mother's water heater on a same day call when her water heater went out since she did not know how to relight it and had no hot water.

However, today, I hired Zorro to swap out my 15-year-old 50-gallon Bradford-White with a brand new model (he specializes in water heaters and tankless installations). He gave me the serial number via text quote and he immediately booked me for a next day appt (my situation was not super urgent since the water heater was still working although the light had gone out 3 times in the past week), and Arsen his lead plumber called me the next morning to confirm my appt time and even offered to come earlier if needed.

It took Arsen less than 1.5 hours to complete the work. This involved draining the water heater (I had him drain it onto my lawn to water the grass), disconnect the old heater, and install the new heater with sparkling new connections.

Arsen and his assistant were very professional and they did everything efficiently and quickly. They also cleaned everything up, hauled off my old heater-no messy parts left over.

I also asked them for their opinion and quote on installing an electric water heater in a studio, which they can also do. I would definitely recommend Z&H for water heater replacements and will rehire them for other plumbing jobs.

I have learned that it is very rare for contractors and service people in the local area to stick with their estimates so Z&H not only giving me a 30 min window but also sticking to it is really a diamond in the rough! Installation was professionally done and quick too.

They were done and packing up by 9:45am and Arsen walked me through the different things that he had done. He added a shutoff valve for the intake and simplified the plumbing that was done previously which was problematic.

He also noticed that there was a natural gas outlet valve that I wasn't using and made sure I was aware that it was a safety hazard in case someone left it open. He removed the valve and capped it off for me when I told me I didn't intend to use it.

All in all I had a much better experience with this water heater replacement than I had originally expected since I had a lot of anxiety trying to find a plumber. I am so glad I got a referral from my friend for Zorro and his team and I will highly recommend them myself in the future! I had an amazing experience with Z&H plumbing.

Water heater stopped working Saturday morning (of course). A couple people we've used before weren't available to come over the weekend.

I found Z&H on Yelp and Zorro was immediately helpful. He sent a guy out right away and gave me two options: a costly repair of existing regular water heater or replacing it with a tankless system.

Zorro patiently walked me the pros and cons and current and future costs, including energy costs. Despite the higher upfront costs we decided to go with the tankless system.

We'll save on utilities and our tank was probably going to need to be replaced in the next few years anyway. Zorro told me he'd come Monday morning and we'd have hot water within a few hours.

I have issues with how this whole experience went down that I don't feel like spending time getting into. BUT...

At least you know if you are unhappy with how a job is done they will try to make it right. And I think that's important.

INITIAL REVIEW... They will under quote, then hit you with a higher price once they arrive.

The Problem: dripping kitchen faucet. I texted a picture and received a quote of $125-$150 (see screengrab of text attached) Upon arrival I am told once this type of faucet starts dripping it is best to replace it since it's just as much to repair it.

New estimate? $275 What changed between my sending the pic, with the problem and now? NOTHING! He didn't even touch the faucet before giving me the new diagnosis and quote. He could just as easily have said in a text what he revealed in person.

I am the building manager for this job. I know this type of faucet costs $50 or $60 dollars top.

The one they replaced it with is probably in the $50 range. I tell the plumber this and question the $125 jump in price.

His response. The office sets the prices.

I thought it looks like a simple job so I took pictures of the valve and went to Mission Hardware. I was told there are 3 sizes and I would have to remove the valve and bring it in to get measured for proper fitment.

Wow that means the water would be shutoff for a few hours. So I tried to remove the valve, I only turned it 1/4 turn it wouldn't turn anymore since I did not have the proper tools.

I called QP Plumbing back and set up an appointment for Monday with a 3 hour window. The plumber arrived and started the job, after the new valve was replaced he turned on the water, Oh No! It was leaking so the water was shutoff and he tried some other valves.

He mentioned that the water quality in Monterey Park is pretty bad your valve is all corroded and the previous plumber over tighten the valve. I told him I don't know about that I moved in in 2003 and never touched the valve until yesterday.

He went back to his truck and brought back more tools without confiding with me of what he was going to do, he went ahead to fix the issue. After 3 hours he said it's fixed and Oscar is coming to look at the job.

The end of the old pipe was cutoff and a new piece of threaded copper pipe was welded on for the new water valve. All the extra work he did was NO Charge! So next time if I have any plumbing needs QP Plumbing is going to be the only one I'm calling.

I am thankful to have located a trustworthy neighborhood plumber. I hired Oscar for his video camera inspection for an underground pipe in my garage.

For some reason, this pipe has been accumulating water, and I couldn't locate where it was coming from. Oscar showed up, ran the snake camera and informed me that my pipe was fine, and the likely culprit was a broken sprinkler near my dryer vent.

I recommend Oscar who is very pleasant and highly knowledgeable and seems vert honest and dependable. QP Plumbing did a fantastic job replacing an old shower valve.

First, the response was incredible-I spoke to Oscar @ 4:30pm and he arrived 10 minutes early before 9:00 the next morning. The workmanship was top notch- tile needed to be cut raising a lot of dust but Oscar taped a plastic sheet all around the shower to minimize the dust.

We found Oscar with QP plumbing as a referral from a friend. I called him and he was able to fit me into his schedule for the following morning! He suspected the wax seal at the bottom of the toilet was leaking and he replaced it within an hour.
