Review and analyze now for company American Drain Works & Plumbing Company and provide the analysis in the discussed format for the following reviews: '''Wow! I'm completely floored by the professionalism, courtesy, and expertise provided by Connie and Lalo. We had a crack in our sewage line and other plumbers recommended a simple replacement of that section.
However, Lalo recommended a replacement of the whole segment of cast iron to ABS. He let me know that cracks are usually not isolated and that this would ensure we don't run into any other problems.
Though it was slightly more expensive than what others quoted, I'm so glad I listened to him! Lalo was able to come out the next day with a colleague and they ripped out about 20' of old cast iron pipe. The excavated pipe was corroded and completely cracked throughout; replacing the segment, on the other plumbers recommendation, would have only caused the problem to happen again.
Also, Lalo went above and beyond to replace our old clean-out with a two-way one! Overall, I'd highly recommend American Drain Works! They're my go-to contact now for my plumbing needs. I am a long time customer and I cannot thank Connie enough! She always comes to my rescue and educates me about the various appliances, tips&tricks etc To be able to trust in the knowledge, guidance and honesty of a service company is so reassuring.
Connie, Lalo and team always come through! Connie ( business owner) is an absolute professional, knowledgeable and thorough. She and her assistant arrived as scheduled, assessed our problem ( unidentified leak as tagged by golden state water company) and provided a comprehensive assessment , solution and costs.
( we had a previous plumbing company assess the problem without crawling under the house and quoting thousands of dollars for the repair ). We are so pleased to have found her company.
She has a lifelong customer for all of our plumbing needs. Thank you kindly, Connie.
We appreciate your services! I had an amazing experience with this plumbing company! The Connie who assisted me not only walked me through my issue but also saved me a significant amount of money. Their service is top-notch, and I highly recommend them for any plumbing needs.
Connie and Michael were wonderful! They responded to my Yelp inquiry in under 10 minutes, and when I spoke to Michael he asked great questions about my aunt's issue that I was calling about--she's 90 years old with dementia and was due to be discharged from a rehab center the next day and her shower and toilet at her Marina del Rey condo weren't working. I had previously hired another (terrible) plumber who had been recommended by the condo's HOA, and he didn't communicate pricing or specifics, and ended up waaaay overcharging me to fix 3 sinks and didn't even address the master shower/toilet issue.
Michael was able to get a technician out within a few hours, and after the technician left, Connie and Michael called and explained the situation as well as their pricing, which--after having been taken advantage of by the previous plumber--was very much appreciated and quite a deal. Highly recommend and I'm trying to get my aunt's condo HOA to hire them and fire the existing plumber! :) I used them for the first time on a difficult drain issue.
Half the cost of other estimates. Fast, reliable work.
My new go to plumbers. Lalo installed my extremely heavy new one piece toilet in no time at all and left my bathroom cleaner than when he arrived.
Will definitely use again when this old house gives up on something else I am so happy to discover this company! My garbage disposal stopped working - Connie sent Lalo right out, he installed a new disposal. There was some leaking a few days later; he came right back as soon as I contacted them and fixed the problem with no charge.
Another time, I wasn't sure about a problem, and Connie walked me through on the phone how to fix it myself. They're honest, they respond quickly, and they're good people.
I have used this company in the past to clear drains and like their timeliness and professionalism. I then went to use them for a more difficult issue with my overflow drain and will NEVER use them again.
The issue was offered to be fixed for $200 which is close to the price they charge for coming out ($165-$185) even though they were already there (fine just get it done). They cut into my wall and then weren't able to access the spot they needed so the plumber proceeded to try to fix it via a mickey mouse fix from the front of the drain.
This solution wasn't even offered to me prior to cutting into the wall. Behind the wall they found backboard which they didn't want to cut into, so then were going to work on fixing it from below (which was already open at the time they did the mickey mouse fix).
The mickey mouse fix didn't work but she still charged me for it. Connie (the owner) is the most unprofessional person I have ever dealt with.
She said I should feel lucky that she is even giving me the name of the drywall guy after I asked her for a week for it. When I was asking my questions about trying to understand why they are going to fix it from a spot that was already opened NOW that the mickey mouse fix didn't work and why they didn't do that from the beginning her response led with 'OMG this is so frustrating'.
Wouldn't use this company. Had another company come out after my friend cut into the backboard and they fixed it quickly and easily.
I'm usually in support of women owned companies but not one where the customer is treated like this. Can't remember if I left a review or not so I'm doing it again.
Connie was amazing - To my great luck Connie answered when I called. I had two non functioning toilets.
She asked if I had a little time and would be willing to try to trouble shoot the problems over the phone with her. I did and to my delight 30 minutes later my toilet was functioning once more after not working for 6 months and trying multiple fixes.
I felt empowered and elated! I moved onto the next one without her - unfortunately it's a different tank so I will absolutely be calling Connie to see if she can help again. Connie truly enjoys empowering customers for the easy fixes.
I asked about compensation for her time - she refused. I'm so happy to leave this positive review for her.
I will not hesitate to call them for other plumbing needs in the future. So a couple years after Connie did the work on a sewar line that she said needed to be fixed (for $1800) under the house (it wasn't blocked, she said from looking at it that it wasn't installed properly and would clog up eventually), the line ended up clogging up.
She hadn't done all the important plumbing work and just installed a couple new junctions at a very high cost. It should have only cost a couple hundred dollars and if she was concerned about the line and it clogging, she should have installed a clean out, which I had to pay to have installed later when the line she supposed "fixed" did clog.
Generally, she will find issues in your plumbing that aren't issues. She overcharges with a fixed quote and explains that there's a ton of work, but her workers are done in an hour or two.
She also was supposed to move a gas line and paid a deposit and when the LA Gas company called to move the line, she was unavailable and wouldn't refund my $750 deposit. 1) Always get a second or third quote.
For small jobs, most plumbers will quote over the phone or text. 2) For bigger jobs, get a written quote.
NEVER GIVE A DEPOSIT. 3) Be suspicious of additional work any contractor suddenly finds when they're giving a quote.
4) Email or text to communicate so you have a record of the work and the job. Take before and after photos.
5) Ask for a warranty in writing. Woke up this morning to the sound of water spraying under the house and called up Connie before they even opened.
Immediately received a response from Michael who coordinated beautifully with me for a same day fix. From the initial panic call early today, to the repair by Lalo, whom we've had the pleasure to work with before, to the follow-up call just now, the process and repair have been seamless.
The crawl space under the house is super tight and Lalo crawled in there emerging every time with a bright attitude and thorough explanation. The plumber we hired to fix this years ago used a clamp, not a real fix, so it's nice knowing there are people like Lalo and Michael and Connie doing business the honest way.
Five star experience. Five star people.
I know nothing about plumbing so when I have a plumbing issue (which can be once/year), I call Connie from American Drainworks. She and her staff are super reliable, come to the rescue immediately, take the time to explain the issue, and give me a reasonable price.
I absolutely adore their work ethic and highly recommend for all plumbing issues. I had them come install a new kitchen sink today.
Plumber was here in less than 30 min. Lalo did and excellent job.
Was kind and friendly. The lady that helped me when I called was very nice as well.
Good price too. Highly recommend!! This review comes after several months of multiple plumbers and service workers who have attempted to diagnose the problem to no avail.
4 months later, I patiently scrolled 5 star plumbers, immediately located Ms. Connie with American Drain Works and Plumbing.
I phoned the number listed in google. Ms.
Connie extensively took her time to assess/troubleshoot the main concern. Ms.
Connie was warm, supportive and very knowledgeable. I was quoted by other companies thousands of dollars which was so disappointing and scary.
Ms. Connie referred her appliance specialist Mr.
Larry who has successfully been in business for over 20 years in the Los Angeles and West LA area. Mr.
Larry arrived on time with a very professional demeanor and incredibly knowledgeable. Mr.
Larry diagnosed and completely solved my months long problem (not being able to use my kitchen for months due to scared of water damage. A few hundred bucks later, I have full access to my kitchen again.
I will forever refer Ms. Connie and her team.
Mr. Larry also may be able to repair my tripped dryer issues.
Thank you again Ms. Connie.
twice this year our family home had plumbing issues and hot water heater issues and we were saved by Connie and American Drain Works. Excellent trouble shooting on the phone, excellent people they send to help, excellent follow up and true caring.
Quick effective action and at a reasonable cost. So glad someone told us to call them.
Much different from all the other plumbers we've dealt with in the past. I cannot say enough good things about Connie! She helped us deal with a very tricky plumbing repair a few years ago and I have relied on her ever since.
Yesterday - in the midst of the holidays and with house guests - I had an unexpected plumbing disaster with water dripping through a light fixture because of what turned out to be a broken pipe from a bathroom above. Though Connie was totally booked, she answered my SOS at 8 am and found another colleague to help within two hours.
Today, Connie made herself available to help my daughter diagnose a kitchen back-up issue and again was able to get her the help she needed rapidly and professionally. Great, fast, knowledgeable and reasonable rates.
Would definitely recommend and plan on calling them again in the future. Connie is fantastic and I can not recommend her and American Drain Works enough! Our sewer line broke and they came out promptly and repaired everything in one day! She is extremely knowledgeable and professional as is her team.
She was super communicative and walked us through the entire process and did the repairs perfectly and gave us a warranty too. If I could give Connie and her team 10 stars on here I would! I will definitely be calling her ANYTIME I have a plumbing need and you should too.
I highly recommend American drain works! We were quoted 2500 for a job of stuff that didn't need to be done by a plumbing company - basically a scam. Connie and the crew Tomas and Lalo came in and gave us an HONEST assessment of what needed to be done and we were charged $300.
Thank you for being honest! Professional, communicative, I can't say enough good things. Connie and her team are excellent at educating clients and looking out for people's welfare.
American Drain Works saved me over $2,000! Lalo on the job was fast and explained everything. Don't shop around, avoid all the scammers out there and call Connie! Excellent service-prompt and reasonable fees.
Fixed it right the first time! I definitely will call them again. I am updating my previous recommendation because, well, when someone does great work, it needs to be said.
Here are all the things Connie and her team have fixed in our house: 1. A HUGE project fixing our water line from our house to the street.
This is work we didn't expect and it meant we would have to go without water, at all, for weeks. Connie's team got it done very quickly, working way outside of normal work hours to finish it for us.
2. Our gas levels were low - The gas company could not figure it out so they shut our gas off and left us with no idea how to fix.
We called Connie! Connie came out, investigated everything and got it fixed. 3.
We brought our new baby home and our sinks backed up. Connie came over at 7 PM and fixed them, at no charge, 4.
And last night our toilet clogged up. Who came over after work and fixed it? Connie.
I cannot rave enough about the work Connie and her team have done. This is the kind of service I expect from family, not from a service provider and yet, here Connie is, fixing my house like I am family! Call her, tell her Serena sent you! We had a major leak in a water line connection in the parking area of our 9 unit condo.
Connie was instrumental in finding the right valve which was difficult to find to fix the problem, and the repair was able to be completed. I recommend her highly! We needed a plumber to come by and find a gas leak behind a wall.
The personable Connie at American Drainworks & Plumbing clearly explained the process ... it turns out that Connie is the boss AND a licensed plumber! She got us booked in pronto, and Lalo and Tomas arrived right on time and got to work.
Lalo, too, explained clearly what needed to be done -- and they fixed the leak with minimal fuss, time, and money. Aside from their professionalism, these guys are SUPER nice people! As we said to Connie: "It was no fun being told by the gas company that we had a leak behind a wall.
That's pretty stressful! But it was worth it, to find you guys for the future." Wouldn't call anyone else. I haven't even used these two amazing women yet and I am beyond impressed.
After five plumbers and trying to find an estimate and information I came to the right place. She was able to look at our property, speak to someone in the know and find out if our city would be working on our street before doing the work at our house.
This is a company that cares to do the right thing. She is an educator and educators get excellent outcomes because they empower their customers.
Why aren't more plumbers women? Dr. Cynthia Boxrud This female owned business is the best plumbing company I've ever used and they continue to be great.
I won't go anywhere else. I've now used American Drain Works twice.
Both times they were extremely professional and easy to work with. The team at HQ handles your requests with white glove treatment.
The team that comes out to your house is always very punctual, communicative and knowledgeable. This past time we have Lalo come out to replace a shower cartridge and he did a wonderful job!!! Until we met Connie at ADW, we'd had a very bumpy road addressing our house's sewer pipe issues--including a company that sent a truck to hydrojet the pipe, discovered they couldn't complete the process due to cracks in the pipe, and STILL charged us a grand for the truck.
Yes, they'd already camera-inspected the pipe. No, I have no clue how they didn't see the issue before bringing the costly truck.
Anyway! Connie instilled complete and total confidence in us right away, and we knew we could trust everything she was saying. She was very clear and communicative, and always wanted to make sure we understood what was happening and why.
She was a pleasure in every way, and her team is top-notch. You're in great hands with her, I couldn't recommend American Drain Works highly enough.
Frank fixed my clogged drain and charged a reasonable price. I also asked him for quotes for two other jobs - for one job he determined that there actually wasn't a problem, and for the other job he found a simpler fix than I expected.
We would definitely hire American Drain Works again. Our kitchen sink backed up causing the garbage disposal to not work and Carol was immediately responsive and got someone out to take care of it within a few hours.
It is our second time working with American Drain Works and they have consistently delivered prompt and quality results. While I hope to not need a plumber again soon, we will definitely call Carol again if we do.
I would give Connie and her team 10 stars if possible. She just left our townhome after fixing our backed up kitchen sink.
The job wasn't easy because snaking the drain from the kitchen drain didn't work initially. After some investigation, we realized that our kitchen drain actually goes behind the wall, and if we can't clear the clog then we would have to open the wall up.
Connie didn't jump to the conclusion and actually went into our downstairs garage to try to snack from 3 other spots. When all the options failed, they cut open a section of the pipe and that was when the pipe cleared.
They went absolutely above and beyond not only fixing our problem, but explaining along the way what could be the cause of the problem, and what they are doing to deduct possible clogging spots. They showed up early and got the job done.
They even cleaned everything up including my dirty sink!!! They didn't leave any dirty foot prints/tracks inside the home and were super respectful. I couldn't have asked for a better service.
Connie, you will be the person I call for all my plumbing needs in the future. Thank you so very much! Highly recommend.
I had two other companies come out to look at a thing, and the quotes they gave just didn't seem right. Connie came out, looked, and took out only what drywall was necessary to diagnose the problem.
She then showed me exactly what was wrong, explained why it happened, and what they were going to do to fix it. I said, "ok," and then they fixed it...
at a lower cost and less time than the other two companies. 10 / 10! My kitchen sink had been leaking for some time, and I actually spoke with 3 other plumbers who all came back with different reasons why.
It wasn't until I came in contact with Connie a few weeks ago who discovered several issues that were leading to the leak (issues that none of the other plumbers caught)! She was extremely meticulous in describing what went wrong, and shared other helpful tips in how best to take care of the sink/garbage disposal moving forward. I greatly appreciated that she provided her cell phone and would text back very quickly with answers to questions.
This is the type of plumber I want to be friends with! Fast forward to earlier this week when my shower backed up. Connie and Lalo came to my house a few hours after I had reached out, and tried snaking the shower drain at least 4-5 times to no avail.
Not the least bit frustrated, they both brainstormed and decided the next appropriate move was to crawl into a cramped crawl space underneath the house. I was impressed at how quickly they both rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty (literally).
It was only a short while later did they discover the issue with the pipes. As a layman when it comes to plumbing terminology, I felt empowered with how detailed and patient Connie was in describing the problem (she used drawings and pictures, and added in colors so I knew what I was looking at), and this was right after they were crawling around underneath the house for what seemed like at least 30 minutes! I felt the price to resolve the situation was fair, and was extremely pleased with the speed of service once the issue was discovered (Connie and Lalo came on a Monday afternoon, identified the issue, left at 5 pm, and were back the next morning at 9 am on New Years Eve to fix!).
By noon, everything was flowing smoothly again. It seems many of the reviews for American Drain Works echo the same feelings as me, and everybody is happy and satisfied.
If you're still considering other plumbers, just know that it will be difficult to find another a plumber as caring and knowledgable as Connie. She greatly cares about her craft, her customers, and she and her team will not leave until they do their best to fix the situation.
I feel very grateful to have met her and will be recommending her to everybody on the west side. You can tell by speaking with Connie that she is absolutely the best in her field.
She exudes competence and excellent energy, and that's exactly why I'm happy to refer her to my clients! Her experience and her reviews all speak for themselves. This is her field! I can't praise Connie and team highly enough.
She dropped everything the day I called and came over to diagnose the issue. Stayed until 9pm when she was sure she had figured it out.
She and the team came back two days later and fixed the problem in a day - something no other plumber could promise. Maybe the best thing about working with Connie is how clearly she explains the issue and the fix.
There's nothing vague about it (another thing no other plumber could do). She walked me through the fix every step of the way.
For such a frustrating problem, it was a pleasure working with Connie and team. I'd give 10 stars if I could.
My wife and I can't say enough good about American Drainworks & Plumbing. We had to have some major work done on our pipe leading out to the sewage line as roots had made it impossible to go long without backups.
We have three bathrooms and often have family or out-of-town friends stay over. Connie worked with us (including a payment plan) to clearly and carefully explain our options, helped us weigh the pros and cons, and handled everything we agreed to.
She wrote up then typed up a complete and clear contract, outlining what we'd agreed to, costs and timelines. We felt fully informed and, because she'd handled many other smaller jobs for us, we felt secure knowing the job would be done right the first time.
Connie and her crew were thorough, timely, friendly and professional. We now have clear, clean pipes, no more backups, and peace of mind when family or friends stay over.
Connie is a consummate professional, her prices are competitive and her work is exceptional. Plus the office staff demonstrates great customer service - something that can be difficult to find.
We HIGHLY recommend American Drainworks & Plumbing. American Drain Works is one of the BEST companies I have ever worked with.
Connie is amazing as they come. The fact that the company is women owned and operated just puts the cherry on top.
They are very attentive, very friendly and professional, and go the extra mile to take care of their customers. Joan & Connie are the people you need to call when you have any type of plumbing or drain problem.
10 out of 10! I had some issues with a prior plumber that this company had who had over charged me for a simple service, but the owner had called me and rectified the issue. I greatly appreciate their attentiveness to their customers.
A pleasure of a plumbing experience; search no further. None of us like dealing with a plumbing problem, but what can make a night and day difference in the experience is to deal with a professional who cares about what they do, meticulous about the quality of their work, respectful of you and your home, is communicative, considerate of your time, and fair in their assessment and billing of the job.
American Drain Works is exactly that kind of company and the quality of people you're dealing with. Huge thanks to Frank for his expertise and professionalism.
Last week our 35 year old water heater started leaking. Due to a great experience with American Drain Works before, I called Connie right away.
Connie and Lalo were really great at explaining my options, sharing their recommendations, teaching me more about plumbing, and being in communication via phone and text. They installed our new water heater in one day, reducing the time that we didn't have running water.
The whole team takes great care about COVID safety, and wore masks the whole time they worked. Overall American Drain Works is so great to work with, go above and beyond, and have very fair prices.
I continue to highly recommend them for your plumbing needs. Outstanding experience with a highly skilled plumber.
Very flexible schedule and shows up generally within the windows provided. Fixed a few little issues around the house we had and did it very quickly.
This included a leaky tub faucet other plumbers told us would need $700+ worth of work - American Drain Works fixed it for less than half the cost. Very generous with his time also, tries to fix things in a cost efficient way.
Honest folks, and will use them again. We thought we had a small, simple hair clogged problem.
Turns out, our problem was much bigger and expensive than we expected. American Drain Works, Connie and her team to the rescue!!! My husband called Connie and she was at our house in no time.
Now, that's what you call, awesome and reliable service! When you call Connie, you just know that what she and her team will do is perfection. They get the job done right! Connie is very friendly, personable and sympathetic.
She is honest and upfront about what they're going to do and how much it will cost. You can rest assure that when you call Connie, you're in good hands.
Connie is God sent to us. She is dependable and trustworthy.
This is why her company is blessed; she blesses others and she is a blessing to us. Thank you Connie, from our grateful family! We bought our home 3 yrs ago and have had one plumbing incident after another.
I can say from experience it is *so* hard to find an honest, professional, and skilled plumber. Frank from American Drain Works checks EVERY box.
We are so thankful we found Connie and her team at American Drain Works. We have added them to our speed dial.
I highly recommend! Had an unexpected plumbing issue in my rental unit, called American Drain works and they couldn't have been better! Connie and her team are the best! Came over same day, got everything working fast and walked me through the issues. Honest and trustworthy, couldn't ask for anything more! Very similar negative experience detailed in other reviews.
Connie goes into full sales mode and earns your trust/confidence, but completely left me in the lurch when it came to the crunch of providing the estimate. I had wanted to work with her and delayed giving an answer to other contractors only to be told at the very last minute that they had another job (despite me telling her from day one the time window I had).
Don't do business with her and call someone else first. Amazing company.
Amazing owner. Amazing service.
Honest feedback, fair pricing and excellent work. Look no further.
You have found your plumber. American Drainworks, based in Culver City provided excellent service in my recent plumbing needs.
Connie offered product and design suggestions for replacement kitchen and bath fixtures which based on years of experience and an understanding of my needs and budget. Tracy, the scheduling and office manager is a good communicator and made things happen on my timeline.
Installation was done with expertise and minimal disruption, unavoidable when dealing with plumbing work. American Drainworks effectively contracts with local experts and offers seamless billing services and NO surprises in final costs with constant communication on multiple platforms.
I unequivocally support this Woman Owned and Operated business serving Culver City and the entire westside of Los Angeles. I needed a plumber to come fix two shower handles that weren't catching the cartridges behind them to get the water as hot as needed.
I called 4-5 different plumbers before finding American Drain works. The other plumbers either didn't service Santa Monica, or they got in and decided they couldn't do the job ("I can't find the part you need" and "this job is too big for me").
American Drain Works did the job and did it right. Thank you for saving the day and restoring hot showers to my condo! I want to thank Connie and her able assistant for responding to my call about a slow draining sink.
She was terrific and explained that we really didn't need anything done at this time. This was after she had her assistant put a camera in our main drain system out to the street.
She also explained how the drains in my old house were closing up with rust and at some point I would need to re-pipe. After she was done I went to pay her and she wouldn't take anything for her time.
She was so upfront and honest about how she worked that I was thoroughly impressed and will definitely call her in the future. I am not a person that writes reviews normally good or bad, but I have to say that CONNIE is unbelievable at what she does.
I had some issues with a bathtub install from my contractor that was not well done and Connie came to my rescue with very detailed information on what to do, how to correct it, who to call, etc... she worked for me tirelessly, even on the weekend.
I have never met a person so professional and helpful as Connie is and highly recommend her to anyone who only want to work with people who have a huge work ethic. Best experience ever with this company! Joan the owner got back to me right away and our plumber, Frank called us shortly after that.
Frank was honest and sincere and knows exactly what he is doing! Will definitely be using them again for all our plumbing needs. With the heavy rains on Monday three of the units in my building had patio drains that were slow draining that nearly flooded the units.
We needed the drains to be flushed out before the next big rain. American Drain Works & Plumbing Company really came through for us!!! I am giving them 5 stars for the professional, friendly and prompt service at a fair price on the scope of work that was completed.
Frank came to our property location. He was professional, had years of knowledge and experience, and just an all around good guy.
He knew what needed to be done, hyrdo jet the drains (i.e. power flush) and there was dirt and debris flowing out.
Afterward he flowed water through each drain to test that they were clear. This last part put me over the top with joy! (In my experience, most vendors just leave and rarely test to check to make sure the work performed actually fixed the problem.) For anyone who has served on their condo HOA, once vendors hear the word "HOA" it seems like there is an automatic surcharge added.
What I love and appreciate is, when speaking with Joan on the phone this firm did not price gauge us in our time of need. We were charge a fair price for the work that was done and they were able to come same day (I would of been ok if it was next day).
I also love that they are local. We will be calling them back to maintain our drains in the future.
P.S. Prior to speaking with Joan at American Drain Works & Plumbing Company I had spoken to 3 other plumbing firms that wanted to price gauge me (charging double to triple the price).
P.P.S. Frank helped us to identify some other issues which did not require our immediate attention and we will certainly be discussing at our next HOA Board meeting.
My first experience with this company was when I contacted them about servicing of a water heater located on the roof of our building. Although they were not able to do the job, Connie took the time to not only explain some of the details & pitfalls, but also gave me two referrals to other plumbers.
I was very impressed by her knowledge and attitude and bookmarked them for future reference. Yesterday, I called American at 9am, and by 10:30am Connie showed up at our door.
She was able to not only fix the issues, but explained why they occurred as well as how to prevent them in the future. I now feel better equipped as a home owner, plus I now have a toilet that flushes ;) I really looked forward to doing business with Connie at American Drain Works, but my experience was not good at all.
When I called I told her I needed to replace my bath tub faucet, but rather than talk about that, she launched into a 15 minute presentation (aka sales pitch) about some miracle water treatment system for which she is an authorized representative. I listened politely till she finished and then said I was really only interested in replacing the bath tub faucet.
She asked me to text her a picture of the faucet and she would get right back to me. So, I sent the picture right away.
Um.....that was on 8/3/2020 and today is 9/2/2020 and I haven't heard a word. If she wasn't interested in doing the job I needed, the courteous thing would have been to just tell me that up front.
Not a fan of game players. I had a leak in my supply line under sink Connie removed and replaced it and no more leaking.
She also showed me where the water shut off value was located outside my house and showed me how to turn off the water supply to my house in the event I should have another leak, she also removed the kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators and cleaned the calcium depots that clogged the flow of the water. I will be using Connie at American drain works again.
Highly professional and knowledgeable of what she was doing. A customer for lIfe!! When I met Connie, Lalo, and her team, I was exhausted.
We were navigating several repairs on our new home, and everything was feeling pretty overwhelming. We knew we had plumbing issues that needed to be addressed, but were struggling to find someone we felt we could trust to tell us what was truly necessary.
Connie was patient with us, taking the time to explain everything that was going on. She helped us to put a plan in place, even drawing diagrams to be sure we understood her recommendations fully.
Since then, we've had them back to install a water filtration system and to unclog pipes after a contractor flushed a towel down our toilet. Every time, they have been meticulous in their work, kind and wonderful to be around, and left behind a clean worksite.
They stand by their work and are truly just a pleasure. Honestly, I sleep better at night knowing we have them in our corner.
I had not an urgent issue, just wanted to change shower drain. But plumbers managed to repair my old one! It's working perfectly now! So they are professionals and honest! I needed a simple drain unclogging and send an e-mail asking for a quote.
The person I e-mailed said to call the owner Colleen on her phone. Colleen seemed confused and annoyed and said she would have to come over to give an estimate.
On Father's Day I got a text confirming the appointment. I left work early and came home to meet the plumber at 3:00pm and received a text at 3:03 saying that they would not be coming.
In short, I put in a lot of effort and received no service. We called several companies before settling with this one.
Our water heater died a slow death and it was time to upgrade to a tankless. Connie was professional and knowledgeable.
Her team represented her company quite well. They were pleasant and very tidy in their work.
I've been looking for a plumbing company for both my home and business. I finally found one that I can trust.
I recommend them highly. Connie and her team are great!! We had a plumbing leak from the ceiling which was worsening by the day.
Connie came out the same day to assess it when we called her. Lalo and his fellow technician did a wonderful job fixing the leak.
They also fixed a couple smaller items around the home that we had been procrastinating on. Prices were very reasonable.
We couldn't be happier with the results. Would definitely recommend this team to anyone in need of plumbing services! First thing I did when I saw my toilet overflowing with sewage was go on Yelp and find a plumber.
I went down the list and American Drain Works was the 5th plumber I called. Connie clearly communicated with me her schedule for the day and was able to come to my rescue 2 hours after I called.
Connie and Lalu showed up and went straight to work. Connie was very clear about each procedure, what to expect and the worse case scenario.
Unfortunately for us the problem was in the main drain and not the toilet. Toilet had to be removed, pipe snaked, and toilet reattached.
Lalu did a great job and was able to get our clog cleared. They also tidied up the whole area and did a quick clean of the toilet so it didn't look disgusting! Also, LADIES, how often do you call a plumber/electrician/handyman/etc and you have to hope and pray that you aren't letting some creep into your home?? I love that Connie is a female plumber!!! She knows her stuff, she explains things thoroughly and there were no hidden charges! P.S.
I don't know how her prices compare as no other company I called gave me a price. However, It was what I expected to pay and she was very clear about the prices BEFORE she did anything! Thank you Connie and Lalu!!!!!! Think twice before calling them! I had a sewer line clogged, so I called them.
They came out and opened up the sewer line and sludge went all over the floor of my garage! They then called a Toxic Waste Company to clean up the mess....that bill ended up being $5,500 and I am dealing with insurance to recover that cost. They then told me after snaking the sewer line that I needed to replace the pipes and advised me not to do laundry or run the dishwasher until I replaced them.
The estimate was $5,000 for black Plastic pipes (I think they are called ABS pipes). Here's what I found out since then: * They should NEVER have opened the pipe like that...they should have had a barrel underneath, so that sewage would not go all over my floor.
* The next day I had someone run a video camera in the pipes ($300) and they told me my pipes were fine (the clog caused the problem and once it was cleared the pipes were fine). * The black plastic pipes they quoted me are NOT up to code and would not pass inspection and are a fire hazard! * A neighbor got an estimate for the same plastic pipes for $1,200 not $5,000 (but remember, they are not up to code and a lot of local plumbers won't tell you that as my neighbor and I found out ...
ps... we have the same type of condo unit, so quote is comparable).
So, you decide. Maybe they are OK to use for simple clogs or drips...but I had no idea this was going to turn into such an expensive disaster when I had problems with my toilet.
Connie's amazing, she was very thorough in her inspection and gave reasonable prices for fixing the plumbing issues in my house. Her team was quick and professional and we were able to move into our new home on schedule.
I highly recommended American drain works! ADW is a great plumbing co. We had an issue, they were booked and couldn't come out.
They walked us through and we solved on our own with their guidance. Def going with ADW for all future plumbing concerns.
It's usually best to go straight to a professional. I had this drippy faucet "fixed" once by a handyman, and the second handyman said that he didn't think he could fix it.
Drainworks fixed it. At 3:30 I had a drippy faucet and at 4:30 I had a newly installed (by Lalo) faucet which didn't drip.
That's all I wanted. The price was EXTREMELY reasonable, which I appreciate, because if you own a house and you live in it for 28 years you're going to be doing repairs for 28 years.
Thanks Connie and Lalo. Judi Turner p.s.
Connie filled out the warranty for me and all I had to do was send it in. She also took the time to explain to me the common flaws in new faucets.
Connie has been great every time we call her for help. We have a rental unit and so we have issues that come up from time to time.
Connie will advise us in a clear way that feels like an expert family member giving us the most sound advice for whatever problem we have. She also is great for contacts for handiwork that needs doing outside of her realm.
I definitely recommend you meet her for yourself and see. Excellent plumbing service! I am a business owner in the construction industry and have worked on many projects with Connie over the years.
She and her crew are some of the most competent professionals I have worked with in the plumbing trade. All my clients love having Connie in their home and tell me how much they appreciate that she takes the time to explain all the different technical nuances to them so they understand the inner-workings of their home better.
This review from a pro comes highly recommended! I reached out to this company after hearing about their service from a friend. After speaking to Connie about the need to install seismic gas shut off valves due to the installation of our new roof (per Santa Monica City Code), I was so incredibly impressed with her service, level of expertise and willingness to help.
Not only did she help educate me on what I needed, but actually called different vendors with me on the phone to help find other resources and quotes that might be cheaper than hers. I was completely blown away by this level of service.
I will be keeping her information on hand and using them for our HOA when the need arises. A true professional and trusted partner.
Thank you! Hands down the best plumber in the area! I called & the owner (Connie) directly picked up and came within an hour. VERY trust-worthy, experienced & knowledgable.
The response time was the most impressive & the personal owner relationship really made the experience delightful. I would recommend Connie & American Drainworks to all people in need.
You won't be disappointed. Connie and her team are truly AMAZING! I first lucked out by finding them from yelp for a tenant's clogged commode.
It turned out to be a blocked sewer and Connie and her team fixed it that day. The next time I saw Connie and her team they tried to scope another property's sewer line but it was stopped up.
Connie coordinated another company to do the clean out and then I met with Connie and we ran the scope down the sewer and Connie explained what we needed to do next in great detail. She also researched the city sewer lines and gave me so much helpful information.
I highly recommend American Drain Works! Connie is great!!! She is not only knowledgeable and super nice but on top of that she's very clean which as a mom of a toddler I really appreciate. She explained what she was doing and even gave me some tips about other bathroom issues.
I would highly recommend!! We had an excellent experience with Connie and American Drain Works. Importantly, the bid was so much more reasonable than other plumbers we tried.
Beyond that, Connie was excellent to work with -- she explained the situation thoroughly in terms I could understand and showed me everything I needed to see about our pipes with the use of the snake cam. Scrupulous and assiduous.
Her workers were excellent -- polite, considerate, etc. I could not have had a better experience and I will be calling them again next time I have a problem at any of the properties that I manage.
ADW is incredible. They were prompt in addressing my problem.
They are professional and detailed in their service. Everything was explained that needed to be completed, and after a few hours I had wonderfully functional pipes! This is by far the best plumbing service I have ever used.
I'll be a customer for life. Connie has helped us with our plumbing several times and she is the best plumber we've worked with.
She explains things clearly, she and her team do quality work and are fair and reasonable with their billing. I would strongly recommend them.
I would highly recommend American Drain Works if you are in need of drainage repair. We contacted American Drain Works and spoke with Connie after smelling sewage in our garage.
She and her team came out the same day. Turned out to be a minor problem with a missing drain cap.
Instead of charging us for a diagnostic fee or scamming us for unnecessary repairs, she fitted a cap for us free of charge. Very professional, honest, and has great customer service.
Would not hesitate to call American Drain Works if we need another repair. Wow is this woman amazing! I called today for any inquiry and she took her time to learn about my issues and what I needed, she informed me of the steps I needed to take in order to get the sewer inspected for a client and then she reffered me to a specialist.
All in one phone call she gave me amazing service and educated answers. I am so impressed! Thank you for your kindness and great customer service.
Connie and her team are incredible. I've run a small HOA for years and Connie and Lalo have been so unbelievably helpful in working through plumbing and sewer issues that our 60 year old building had.
I've also used the company for inspections on home purchases, and to do work on moving in & regular home repairs. They are honest and trustworthy, and extremely efficient with their clients' time and money.
I recommend American Drain Works to everyone I can! We were in dire straits, roots in our pipes, a full house back-up and breakdown of all basic plumbing needs during the time of Covid is no small amount of stress. Not to mention that our home owners warranty, naturally, has an exclusion to doing anything related to roots.
So here we were: stuck, a son just home from dental surgery and no way to run water in our house because we had no way to drain water. We are a one bathroom house and we had already waited over 24 hours for our warranty people to show up only to be told they couldn't do anything for us.
The need was real that we have capacity to have a functioning home. We had been told by several plumbers that they were incredibly busy at this time of quarantine and we were looking at getting even just estimates in several days with the potential of not starting on a job for several more days.
Reminder: one-bathroom house! Stress! After talking with a lot of recommendations from friends, Connie at American Drain Works and Plumbing took the most active interest in helping us solve our problem and immediately got to work on assessing our needs. They were at our house the next morning at 8am.
Her team and this dynamo of a lady boss herself were under our house, giving us options, working with us on all levels to do what needed to be done. Her trusty artist with drains, Lalo and his team, worked all day and half of the next.
We learned so much not only about the job, our contract, a true plumbing work ethic but also the follow-through from a dedicated team who cared about the quality of their work, and the quality of their relationships with their clients. We got excellent service, customer care, & attention to detail, working with us while we got the financials in order, from this outstanding Westside Woman owned/Lady Boss Team.
I cannot say it loudly enough. Connie, Lalo, Joan and your whole team, we are sold on you and how you love helping people and problem-solving and solution-building to make the world a little bit nicer.
These are challenging times and this was a challenging week for us. We recommend American Drain Works and Plumbing for any and all plumbing needs.
They are based in Culver City and I highly, highly recommend them to my peeps in their service area! It was a stroke of luck that I got them on the phone and I'm so grateful to them. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I was really impressed with Connie and her crew.
She was very thorough going underneath my house and pointing out things while looking at my sewer line. Unlike the other plumber I called who didn't go underneath my house, Connie has the licensing to do the entire job from underneath the house to the street.
On top of that, Connie has a common sense, home improvement contract that fully describes the work and how she stands behind her work. Her estimate for the work underneath the house was actually less than the other plumber.
American Drain Works is a company that does quality work!'''.
