I called around past noon and I was told someone is available to fix my clogged sink drain between 2-3 pm the same day. Ryan came a little late but he was in and out of my house within 30 minutes.

Came to hydrojet our kitchen drain pipe because it was completely clogged. He took his time and did a great job.

I had to call hourly to find out when they were going to be there. I understand being a little late, since things happen.

When I called, it was "they are coming" , they're on their way, and other excuses. Over promise and under deliver.

Totally wasted my only day off. Then canceled at 4 pm.

I called another company that was here in a half hour. Done by 5.

Never would recommend Purdy Plumbing. Period.

We've used them for years and they never fail to provide excellent service. From the office to the plumbers, they are polite, helpful, and tenacious.

They keep in touch during a job and you get updates on the plumber's arrival. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

This review is for Nicole. I've used this company a few times in the past, and the service they offered were very professional.

For the reason, I have their number on my phone so that I can make a call when needs arise. This time, the property had a water heater emergency.

I made a call and inquired their availability. Nicole answered the phone and listened to the issue.

She recognized the emergency, and it needed to be taken care of immediately, but their technicians weren't available until the following day. Nicole then gave me a referral, which turned out fantastic.

But I was more impressed with Nicole's care for customers. She could've made me wait for their technicians to be available, but she recognized my need and gave me a referral.

Later time, I happened to find out that Nicole was happy that I had a great service from the company she referred to me. My trust for this company is even bigger now.

They prioritize the best interest in customers. Nicole was very quick and handled the matter appropriately.

I appreciate her good work ethic. 5 Stars.

Longtime, now former, Purdy customer here. We've tried for two straight days to make an appointment that Purdy could keep, and tonight, our plumber NO-SHOWED our job.

Last I heard, he told the office that he was "cleaning up" and heading our way after missing our window by SIX HOURS. We were a lay-up job too.

Look at a garbage disposal, troubleshoot a pressure issue, and fix a runny toilet. That's it.

I get that we were a low-priority appointment. I get that other jobs are more important and can run longer than expected.

What I can't stand is being made to feel that way; getting the brush-off after being made to wait for TWO DAYS for a plumber to decide we're worth the trip. Wasted time, wasted effort.

It's really unfortunate it came to this. Purdy Plumbing's been our service for years.

But they aren't anymore and we don't recommend counting on them for timely service or reliable results. Maybe someone else will want our money enough to show up.

I've used Purdy a couple of times and have been very satisfied. The technician- I think it was Chris- replaced old valves under sinks, installed new faucets in bathrooms, and fixed the shower.

He was very prompt, did meticulous work, and was very friendly and explained everything well. Highly recommend Purdy.

After wrangling with an auger and attempting to clear out our kitchen/laundry lines for the third time, I decided it was time to call a professional for a reliable solution. Alan and Joseph showed up with the right tools and attitude to get the job done.

They were extremely professional and knowledgeable. Alan took the time to walk me through what he was doing each step of the way and patiently answered all of my questions.

He was honest and upfront about what work needed to be done and what all my options were without being pushy. He and Joseph also took care to clean up after themselves and ensure the mess that was made from cleaning out the pipes was gone before they left.

I have been battling with our HOA plumber for weeks but one quick call with Purdy Plumbing and they come out to fix our clogged tub in 15 minutes without having to access the drain from another point. I would definitely call Purdy Plumbing again due to their professionalism and knowledge.

Picture shows my tub finally drained after two weeks of backups. Knowledgeable and was able to find the root of the problem with my leaky shower.

All service is expensive these days it seems but at least with these guys you know it's getting done right. My hot water was not coming out and the water pressure has always been an issue for my unit.

When I reached out to Purdy Plumbing, the lady who picked up the phone was very friendly, unlike the other places I reached out to. She said she was able to send guys to come out the very next day.

Andy and Jared came to my place right at the appointment time. They took a look at my place and were super nice even though I didn't know much about where everything was.

After taking a look at my place, they thought it was a simple fix by switching out the shower cartridge, which I already purchased while I was doing my own research. So Andy walked me through it and made a few other suggestions for things I can do, such as flushing out the water heater and considering the use of water softener, to help with my water pressure.

Even though they came all the way out here, they didn't charge for anything! A very smooth and great experience. We have been using Purdy Plumbing since we moved to Fullerton in mid 2020 and they have always been so helpful and kind to our family.

Their response time is always prompt and they are wonderful to work with! Their rates are very competitive and reasonable and at the end of they day they want to make sure you and your family are taken care of. After needing some emergency repairs when we moved in, Jerry helped with re-piping the entire house's water and sewer service.

The owner, Ryan, has also been out and helped with repairs to our sewer line from the house to the city and was thorough in explaining what we needed and what options we had. If we have any questions about random plumbing issues in the house, they have made the time show us what repairs or updates we could use.

We've also worked with Alan and Joseph, who most recently came out to help with our gas line and water heater. They were able to make it out the day we called at the end of the day to take a look at what was going on and solved our problem very quickly.

We will continue to use Purdy Plumbing as long as we are in the area and make sure to recommend them to our friends in the area! Thank you to Purdy Plumbing for resolving multiple issues at my home. Alan handled everything so well.

Excellent work guys. Called this company after learning that the plumbing company we used to call went out of business.

We had an issue with water coming out underneath the toilet as well as changing it out entirely. Our house was built in the mid 1950s and so we knew that there maybe issues when they open up things up to take a look to see what's going on.

Sure enough, it turned out to be a bigger job. The main person we dealt with was Andy; he was very thorough and transparent with everything that needed to be done.

We couldn't be happier with the job that was done. We have another thing that we would like to get done and we will definitely be calling Purdy again.

Also, one great thing about this company - I called the number that is posted here on Yelp; I received a pre-recorded message telling me that I could also send a text. After leaving a text, Nicole called me back right away.

I moved on to another company that had someone out the next day. Really appreciated the phone answering and being able to get a crew out same day to check out my plumbing situation.

The crew, tried as they might, couldn't clear my drains, but gave a solid reason why- with an estimate. Really appreciated that.

Only charged me for call out too. That was OK with me.

Because the repair was going to cost above my budget, I decided to go with another contractor after I got got a couple more bids. The only thing I would say bad about their service, they were a bit on the messy side.

But considering the timely call out, I was ok with that. We had a clogged bathroom drain and after calling several companies for quotes, decided to go with Purdy Plumbing since they were the only one available in the evening.

I spoke to Nicole on the phone and appreciated that she was able to provide an exact amount instead of an estimate range. On the day of the appointment, Chris and his partner called before arrival.

They were very courteous and wore disposable booties prior to entering the house. The whole process took about 45 minutes, with Chris explaining what had caused the clog and how to prevent it in the future.

I hope we won't need a plumber again anytime soon, but now I know which reliable company to call. Purdy plumbing has been my go-to plumber.

I have two curious toddlers and TWICE Purdy Plumbing has came to the rescue! Apparently my kids thought it would be a great idea to flush some toys down the toilet. I called Purdy and the receptionist was awesome! She got someone out asap even with their busy schedules.

A lot of other places I called wee way too pricey or wouldn't be out til late/following day. Second time around when it happened again...Purdy to the rescue.

It was a Friday afternoon and they got someone out sooner than expected! I can't remember his name, but he and all of their guys are so respectful and friendly. I offered some waters and some chips and he was so appreciative.

I definitely recommend them for any plumbing needs. So thankful I found Purdy Plumbing shortly after buying my first home as I've repeatedly needed a reliable and honest plumber over the last 4 years.

Ryan has always been very fair and the quality of his team's work is outstanding. Purdy previously replaced our main sewer line after hydro-jetting and scoping of the old line revealed it was completely rotted out under the slab, then we called them back about a year later to re-pipe essentially the entire house after a leak above the ceiling created significant water damage.

We recently called them to diagnose and repair a burst pipe under our front sidewalk. Nicole answered the phone quickly on a holiday and Ryan came out the next morning to complete the repair.

Since Day 1, we have been impressed with their service. We have had faucets and garbage disposals replaced, our entire plumbing system replaced (our house is 1950s and had the original), and various clogs fixed over the years.

I asked the pair multiple questions and they were responsive and respectable. I shall definitely be using this company for future projects! My garbage disposal stopped working and so I called Purdy.

I was provided a window of time between 2:30 and 3:30. I found out I would be home an hour early and let them know.

Allen arrived a bit before 2:30. He discovered little pieces of glass were the culprit and he removed it.

I was getting ready to pay and he said it was a small issue and so there would be no charge! Am I dreaming? Maybe I will wake up soon! Honest and reliable. Purdy technician came out and did 2 hr tankless water heater flushing and we got hot water! Another company sent a technician out, did nothing and proceeded to say that we would need an entire new water filtration system in order to get hot water back, for $8500.

That time I gave five stars to the plumbing company... I've used Purdy twice and both times the results have been excellent.

I had a busted pipe in the wall and a nasty clogged pipe that I couldn't work out myself. For both incidents, I was able to get someone out the same day to come and help.

Aside from their amazing availability, they're always up front about the pricing (if it's clear what the issue is). Sometimes a company will lead with a price and then "uh-oh! so and so happened so we have to charge an extra this or that" Not with Purdy - their pricing is consistent and I paid exactly what was quoted over the phone and by the tech when he came out.

I've worked with two different techs and both were helpful, friendly, and expertly fixed the issue they were dealing with. It was pretty easy and painless.

They also clearly explained what they were doing and why. I've recommended them to some family and friends and if I have another plumbing related issue, they're the first, second, and third company I'll call.

When I first moved it to my place I dealt with a handful of plumbing related issues and got stuck working with a pretty terrible company that overcharged and did more harm than good (I don't want to name names so I won't mentioned Atlas outright, I'll just call them company X). I called on 10/6/22, to get A price for complete removal of my drains and replace with new pipes. They sent someone out and he was here in 15 minutes.

He crawled under the house for about 45 minutes and took pictures to show me. They sent me a quote in about 30 minutes.

Always friendly, prompt and honest. They just recently came out to clear up some things and it was as per usual a no hassle situation.

Would recommend Purdy's Plumbing to anyone I know. Had to get our laundry room plumbing redone.

This included recessed laundry box, new copper water lines, new ABS drain line and standpipe to replace the original galvanized steel in our 1955 home. I was able to schedule an estimate and met Chris for the first time.

He was on time, polite and responsive. He walked me though various options, giving me "in a perfect world" scenarios that would accomplish my end goal and helped be understand what would be best for the longevity of my home.

He left me an estimate with a very detailed explanation of the work that would be done. I left a message later that evening with the main office asking to schedule service.

There was a slab leak in my home, and Ryan came out and diagnosed the issue quickly. He fixed the problem with expertise, and it was solved much quicker then I thought, within a day.

There was a problem with the kitchen water pressure, and Ryan came back, and worked at it until it was completely fixed. He also noticed an electrical issue under the sink, and attended to that as well.

Purdy is a wonderful, truth worthy company. They care about their clients, and their clients, and so great work.

I really cannot say enough good things about Purdy. They have probably been out to my house 5 times for various issues.

Each time they have gone above and beyond. One time they gave me a free look into the sewage lines under my house with a camera.

Another time they showed me how to light the pilot on my water tank, also as a courtesy. They have fixed leaks, they have replaced lines, they have installed new faucets.

I have no complaints and if I ever request any adjustments, they make them for me right away. They are polite, and they are here when they say they will be here.

I knew after meeting Ryan (and chatting for at least 40 minutes) that he's an honest and trustworthy guy. He sent Chris, an awesome tech, to do the bulk of the work - a fairly complex job involving trenching from the garage to the main line so I can relocate my washing machine to the garage.

This wasn't a cheap job but Ryan gave me a very fair price considering how much work, thought, time, and detail they put into it. I'd use Purdy again in a heartbeat and there are few plumbers or other contractors I could say that about.

Used them a few times already and I'm happy with Chris. Used these guys 4.5 years ago to snake my main drain to the street, since they were here I added the kitchen drain for a nominal add on fee.

I brought them back again this month for the hydro jet treatment of both drains, they fed a cable camera the entire length and my pipes look practically like new so I don't think I need to worry about a clog for quite a few years. I called to make an appointment first thing in the morning and had a plumber available immediately that afternoon with a seamless process to unclog my drain. I highly recommend them for your future plumbing needs PURDY PLUMBING, another job well done.

This is my second time using them, this time it was installing a recessed gas line connection for my stove. The old one was placed on the outside of the drywall, and because of it, my stove was not fitting flush against the wall; it was sticking out 4 or 5 inches off the wall.

I didn't like this. So I again called PURDY PLUMBING, and they sent out CHRIS.

He did an amazing job. The gas line is much cleaner looking now and as well much more useful.

Also, when dealing with gas lines you have to be very careful. CHRIS double checked and triple checked right in front of me to show me the gas line connections were secure, as well as, no leaks.

He was actually able to identify a gas leak in my stove (because I had complained about being able to smell gas when I called) and he tightened and sealed my stove at no additional charge. PURDY PLUMBING and CHRIS again did an excellent job and I am very grateful for their services! I would definitely recommend PURDY PLUMBING.

Their prices are very fair and their Services are well above average. PLUMBING EXPERTS There were a slow draining issue in our restroom and floor sink that popped up suddenly.

PURDY was able to run a camera to diagnose where the issue was in the main pipe and snaked it out. The technician was able to keep our public area clean and the clog removed.

I was thankful it was resolved on the same day. Called to request a quote for a gas leak situation.

Purdy's price was a lot more reasonable than other places, so I got in contact with Ryan, and we set a date, and he said he'd have someone out from 1pm - 2pm. Haha, yeah right, I've heard that story before.

But at 12:57, Chris was there at my door, ready to work. He briefly looked at my main water line and said he should be able to get it done in an hour.

I have utilized these guys for more than 5 years and have always found them skilled, available timely, professional, friendly, honest, and very fair. I recently used Purdy Plumbing to hydro jet my main line to the street.

(I swear my bathroom's haunted!) I'd already snaked the airvents last month, but nothing worked...nothing. So the next morning (a Saturday), I checked Yelp for local plumbers...

(I hate plumbers, by the way.) Ryan Purdue--very cool and very professional--is Purdy Plumbing & Drain's owner and sole proprietor. He answered my call at 7:30am, made an appointment with me for that afternoon, showed up ON TIME, wore BOOTIES over his work shoes so as not to track dirt or mud into the house, diagnosed the problem, dealt with my sewage lines, and offered me an estimate for his work that floored me! (More on that later.) My problem was "major root intrusion" in the main sewer line, which Ryan proceeded to clear by way of the secondary line in the kitchen.

(I paid attention!) Apparently, I don't have a "drain cleanout,"--an entry point into the home's drainage system that allows clogs to be easily removed--so Ryan will be installing one later; but that wasn't the most amazing part (see photos). Ryan set up this snake-like camera and inserted it into the darkened stench of the toilet's bowels.

I watched the monitor while the camera navigated its way through over 60' of drainage pipes underneath my house and below the front yard. And there they were: ROOTS! It was disgusting! No wonder everything was clogged.

Anyway, Ryan then went out to my front yard with this radar-type gun so that he may detect the exact position of the camera, laying next to the roots that were pushing their way through the pipe's connectors. That damned spot, then, will be where Ryan will install a drain cleanout.

Once that's in place, whenever a router or snake is needed, this will be the point of entry. The cost for today's work, you ask? Ryan was here for three hours...three! Go ahead, take a guess.

His cost: $150. (I wrote him a check for $200.) Seriously, I have a doctor, an optometrist, a dentist, a broker, and even a lawyer.

But, now, I can also say that I have a plumber: a trustworthy one, one whom I don't hate, one who (like the rest of my entourage) is on my side. And I'll bet he's willing to take your side as well.

We had been given the run around by two other plumbers when i finally called Purdy. Nicole was very friendly.

No ups, No extras, Same Day Great Service So I called 4 of the top Plumbers on Yelp including Purdy. One called back quickly but immediately alerted me that houses built in the 70s needed larger drain pipes and that he would charge hourly for that.

While I appreciate the input, ups and extras usually don't happen until service guys show up, right? He also should have considered it's been draining with no issues since the 70s. Oh well...

he's out! Another called back several hours later and I informed them that I already had committed to a plumber. They informed me they were too busy any way.

Their out for future business with that attitude! Purdy calls back and I'm nervous thinking they all might be up-selling with attitude these days. NOT SO with Purdy and they even gave me a small discount as I found them on Yelp.

We are so glad we found this reliable company. We were trying to get all things on our list completed in order to get our condo sold.

One included getting a water heater strapped. They came out right away.

The first guy said we didn't need it. He confirmed with his manager and his buddy and there was no charge! Our realtor said we needed it afterall.

We called Purdy and they put us on a priority list and came back out within the next day or so. They charged us only for the part.

Chris was very professional and checked a "leak" under our sink for no extra charge. He explained every little thing he was doing in layman's terms so we understood.

I shopped around about six different plumbers who gave me close to the same answer, except for Ryan at Purdy. I work with pipelines, large ones so theoretically I'm familiar with what to expect.

I described in as much detail what was going on, hoping to eliminate the guess work of a plumber showing up, diagnosing the problem, charging the diagnoses and then charging me again for any repairs. The 5/6 plumbers said they needed to come out and see it first.

We've had root issues in the sewer lines and this time one of the national branded companies came out. After jetting out the roots and uncovering one issue after another, they quoted us 3 options, with the cheapest being over $15,000.

I called around and found Purdy, a local company right here in Fullerton and Andy came out right away and gave us a second look. Andy then gave us options with the most extensive work equaling in scope with the other company's highest level proposal but costing a lot less than the the other company's lowest level work .

And there was no sales pressure. Andy just showed me the pictures and told it to me as it is.

As we did the work a few small issues came up and that pushed the number of days of work from 2 to 4. One issue is the sewer line that went into the house.

I asked Andy to have the line that went into the house cleaned out by descaling it. With a camera, we can see that the original cast iron pipe was in bad shape.

I opted for additional service and now the lines are "lined" and should give us trouble free use for decades. I would highly recommend Purdy.

Andy finished late into the last day because one of the lining segments did not turn out satisfactory and they decided to redo a section. They do the work right and didn't rush.

Needed ceiling fan installed, sent pictures quoted $480 small bedroom fan. Say What ? Crazy I thought I used him I had not updated my phone #, found my guy so so happy 1/4 price.

I live out of town but my elderly father in up in Granada Hills and we needed some grab rails installed in a shower and small bathroom. I gave Miguel a call (found him on Yelp) and he quoted me a reasonable price and scheduled the job for a couple of days later.

He showed up on time and showed me pictures of the completed installation. He had to run over to Home depot to pick up some additional rails since we only had two but need four.

I went to yelp, looked at M.Y. Handyman Services, read that they do handle plaster, in their "about" and in fact, read a good review at the top that said Miguel was even prepared for something that she wasn't, and handled some plastering.

I can no longer find that review, while I'm searching for it, however. We put in our request for a quote on Saturday, 4/29 at 10:30am, which I turned over to my boyfriend, Jon, to handle, since I had an 11am appt, but we needed to try and get it asap, as we only had 2 days to complete the repair, with rain predicted to be on the way this week.

Miguel gave Jon a call and they spoke, and Jon texted him some pictures. Jon told me that Miguel told him they don't do plaster (confusing me, since I specifically looked for that before submitting my request for a quote, since I've read that plastering can be more complex than just working with joint compound) apparently he still decided he was going to give us a quote anyway, leading me to believe he was checking with one of his workers who maybe was the person who handles his plastering work for his business, or something.

At 10:44am he texted Jon saying he would send a quote in 20 minutes. I returned near 12pm.

Asked about it. Jon was still waiting on taking a shower for Miguel to reply.

I asked if he had called him again to ask, he hadn't, and he texted Miguel then about the missing quote around 12:30. At 12:33pm Miguel texted back that he would send the quote in one hour.

We waited until until 2pm, an hour and a half, and then I picked up the phone to call. We needed to have some idea if this repair were affordable so we could have someone experienced tackle it, but if it were not affordable, we'd have to try and do it ourselves anyway, we'd opened up the ceiling and it was just sitting open.

So, at 2pm I called, and explained I'm the house owner, he'd been speaking with Jon since 10:45am, and and I tried to not be too irate when I mentioned that he'd now told us twice he would send a quote, and we'd been waiting at that point over three hours, and he still hadn't sent it and we really needed it asap. I left my name and phone number twice, carefully and slowly, and asked that he please return my call ASAP.

At 2:15, having not received any call back, we made our way back to the hardware store to get a few more things we estimated we would need for the repair. I never received a call back and though I hoped at some point a quote would go through Jon via his text, he was never sent one.

After telling us twice he would send a quote and my calling to plead for a call, he left us without any reply at all. None of this would be a problem if Miguel had simply told us no up front, and not said he was going to send a quote, we would not have lost 4 hours of time, as it was 2:30 when we finally gave up and headed back to the hardware store for a few more things we estimated we would need.

I don't like leaving negative reviews but I feel like this so easily could have been avoided. All Miguel needed to do was *not* tell us a quote was coming and we wouldn't have waited.

We were unable to complete the repair this weekend, and it rained yesterday, with more forecast to come this week. My boyfriend can not return until 5/13 to help me complete it.

So, in this case, for my project, losing those hours created a much bigger impact than one might think. Please, Miguel, consider these things in the future if you have someone waiting for an estimate.

I sent my project out for quotes in Yelp and Andy of Peter Lai Plumbing was one of the first responders. He was the only one who had a response that gave me a price range for the repair work I needed.

It was a straight problem of 1 clogged bathroom sink and I really like the direct and simple process with Andy compared to the other responses I got. After doing a bit of research, verified his license and his yelp reviews, I decided to go with him.

We agreed to meet next day, he showed up on time, prepared and very courteous mannered. He was considerate in putting shoe covers when going inside the house, which I really appreciated.

Most importantly, his work was excellent! He unclogged the drain in minutes and made us understand how far everything was! In our case, it went over 25ft. He said he went beyond that to make sure.

He warrantied his work for 30 days. I am a happy customer and will definitely use him again for future plumbing needs.

We had him come out to our house for two different occasions one to snake the kitchen drain and the other to install dishwasher line for dishwasher installation. We thought we would need to repipe from our home inspection report but so so glad we didn't need to! Andy is fast and efficient, and super on time too! I didn't use their service because they only do new installations.

I started my plumber search after accidentally flushed a metal wired sponge down the toilet. I knew instantly it was gonna cost me.

This was actually the 2nd time I used Peter Lai plumbing. The first time, Andy showed up at 930pm and replaced a section of piping that had a pin hole leak.

Yesterday, I called Andy because of a clog that was causing a back up. We were supposed to meet at 5pm, but he got caught up at an emergency call.

He called me in advance to let me know so I didn't waste my time meeting at our original time. He gave an accurate estimate on when he would be able to arrive.

I was looking for a second opinion regarding lack of hot water in my condo. Sent in a request for a quote on a Saturday morning around 7am and Andy was over to our property by 9am. He was knowledgeable and walked us through the whole process of what was being done.

Our plumbing problems ended up being minor and were fixed within the hour. They are definitely remaining as our go to plumbers! At first when I called, Andy answered and at first said didn't toilets.

He then probed on the problem I was having and I told him my toilet was still running after changing the flapper and my shut off valve was not working. He's said he would be there in the morning.

He did a very good job! I had a minor shower drain problem. It drains fine with water but in the presence of shampoo or soap, it would slow down a little.

At first Andy couldn't find the problem because when he inserted the snake gun 10 meters in, he couldn't find anything. He said the pipe is new and everything clean.

So he inserted 40 meters in this time and was able to find some hair, amount to the size of a grape approximately. So that was the culprit! I am very happy with Andy's service.

He was pretty thorough. Where other plumbers probably would stop at 10 meters in, but Andy put in the extra miles and pumped 4X deeper, at 40 meters in.
