The latest adventure this week was the replacement of our in-wall (tile) shower faucets - which are about 30 years old.

These are non-standard faucets that have odd replacement cartridges that are difficult to find. People were telling us "Oh, you'll have to cut open your wall to fix those".

Well, Mani came over on a Friday and told us he thought they could find new cartridges - but that it would take some time and research. Since it was a Friday, we decided to wait until Monday to remove the existing cartridge, to not risk not having water all weekend.

Mani came back on Monday, removed the old cartridge, and capped the wall with a plug. On Wednesday night, (last night) Fred contacted me and said, Mani will be over tomorrow (Thursday) at 9 a.m.

to replace all four cartridges in both showers. And that is exactly what he did!! These guys are just good.

They work hard, they have a lot of experience and their prices are fair as well as transparent. I've never felt taken advantage of in more than 8 years of working with them.

Al the owner of Midway Locksmith Service Company responded to our need to rekey an apartment and fix couple of apartment entry doors that were not closing. He was timely, efficient and knew what is needed.

When a blockage in the pipes caused sewage to start coming up in the bathtub of our guest house, Gavik arrived within 45 minutes of our phone call. He was incredibly kind and efficient.

He explained his work every step of the way, making every effort to avoid removing the toilet to reach the blockage, in order to save us significant money. In the end, he had to call Randy (the owner?) who arrived with a larger machine.

Together they were able to clear what ended up being roots in the pipes from outside the house. In a panic, we dialed 4 different plumbers to get quotes for an urgent inspection. Gas line inspections are not cheap, all but one quoted me several hundred dollars.

Freddy at Mr. Speedy asked me a few questions and was the only one that said for my specific issue, I should call SoCal Gas cause they'll inspect it for free.

Freddy was the only one that recommended I call the gas company. Sure enough, SoCal Gas agreed and said the specific issue I had was their responsibility.

We've had problems with our second floor shower for years, and this month we decided to spend the money, whatever it takes, to finally fix the problem once and for all. We called 3 plumbers for estimates and two of them said we need to break all the tile and replace the entire shower.

The only one that gave me a thorough/accurate estimate was Mr. Speedy.

Juan and Randy came out, inspected the shower, as well as the piping underneath the house and realized the root cause was an old/damaged pipe underneath the house. old houses = old pipes = lots of plumbing issues. We had previously called Mr Speedy a few times out for hydrojetting, because our water would not drain.

It lasts over a year, but ur old clay pipes were too cracked and full of ficus roots, so finally gave in and bust. When I called with our emergency, Fred came out the same day, and gave us a very, very reasonable quote..

He showed us on the camera where the problem was, and gave us a temporary solve so we could still use water. We agreed to finally have new pipes run, and the front yard most likely would need to be excavated.

After slowly taking apart our landscaping (saving stones, moving plants aside) and manually digging, they came up with a better solution, and didn't need to dig up the entire yard. They did use the excavator to dig a 7ft hole at the the end of our lawn, but other than that they saved most of our lawn.

YAY! The job was done in 2 days, and they replaced our plants and landscaping back over the pipes. Randy was friendly, accommodating, communicative, *speedy* (grin) and, most important of all, punctual.

New garbage disposal and sink faucet was the cure. The cost was great, about 25% less that a quote from another plumber the day prior who didn't have the supplies needed and couldn't get back to me to do the repair for 3 days.

If you have any plumbing issues call Mr. Speedy - they are amazing.

I had a sewer gas problem. I found these guys on yelp.

Speedy came over and put a camera down the pipes, seemed to figure out a lot that way. There was an issue with how the pipes were attached so they put some glue in between the pipes.

It took less than an hour, and they charged me $750. In their defense they did wait outside for 30+ minutes so maybe they charged me for that.

Still 750 is pretty steep. A few weeks later, I still have sewer gas.

They did tell me the first try was not guaranteed, and it might need more work. It could turn into a major job.

However, I am hesitant to call them back because if a half hour is $750 I sure don't want them working on a big job. Scary prices with these guys.

They do seem more competent than most plumbers. Update- they are coming back tomorrow and seem to be willing to fix it for no charge.

We will see. It's very hard to pin these guys down to a price until the work is done and it's too late.

They refuse to talk about hourly rates. EDIT- I upped this review from 2 stars to 3 stars.

After meeting with them in person and talking for a long time, here's what I can tell you: These guys are ABOVE AVERAGE. However their prices are quite high.

I don't think they are the rock stars of the plumbing world. I'd pay these prices if they were the best of the best like they say they are, but they are not elite at what they do.

I've gotten conflicting statements from them such as "that will fix your problem for sure" vs "we can't be sure what will fix it, it's trial and error." In the 2nd visit they were ready to leave 3 or 4 times without ever getting to the bottom of the problem. They give up too easy on diagnosing.

They had not checked pipes in the attic or under the house in the crawl space yet, and they were ready to hit the road saying "I don't know what else to tell ya." I continued to question them and question them in order for them to check the attic and crawl space. They seemed to think "let's just say whatever we have to say in order to get out of here and keep the $750 we charged him last time." Also, as I said earlier they are a bit slippery and refuse to quote a hourly rate.

Well this time I got it- $118 per hour per guy. Even the assistant guy gets $118.

I have a small amount of knowledge on plumbing from re-modeling houses, and was able to use that to get these guys to make a more solid attempt at diagnosing the issue. the average person would not have this knowledge and so I would not recommend these guys for complex problems.

Also, the average person might not crawl around in the foundation and attic like I did. I had to go in along side these guys because their vibe was a bit lazy.

They give up too easy. If you have a basic job these guys would be fine, but expensive.

They are reliable and they show up on time. If it's a hard job, they are not the top of the line plumbers you're looking for.

----- Another Update These guys called me up after they read this review and said "I'm furious about the review." Another interesting quote was "I'm very disappointed in you Casey" which is something you might say to a 10 year old, not a customer who gave you $750 for an hour or 2 of work. The guy who called was pretty confrontational.

Maybe Speedy thinks they can bully customers into taking down negative reviews. In any event, it's poor customer service.

When someone gives you a 3 star review, it's not something to be furious or confrontational about. Calling about a review AT ALL is not cool.

If you're gonna call, call to fix and issue or give a refund. Anyway, I'm done with these guys.

I cannot recommend this company more. Our hot water boiler broke down over the long holiday weekend (of course) and Randy was so quick to respond and efficient.

Not only did he organized the hassle free replacement of our boiler with the original supplier, he went to pick it up for us, installed it within a few hours (despite some unexpected model changes) and took the old one away, no tidy up required! After a few minutes, they messaged me that Jon H. would actually arrive ~30 minutes before their quoted arrival window, and in this case, that was great as I was immediately available.

It turns out it was the pressure regulator slowly leaking. Water was still working throughout the house, but I definitely needed this replaced before it could get any worse.

The service was quick, and Jon was a pleasure to work with. He gave me a quote upfront how much it would cost if that was the only issue as well as a quote if there were more problems than he initially scoped it out to be.

to my house (Please see Done Rite's yelp review dated 2 months prior to this review which was written by a Danny V and decribed how great Danny is).. how coincidental, no? Danny V swore I had a leak after doing a leak detection test, but he didnt find any leak at any of my appliances or visible pipes.

He insisted that the leak was in the walls or underground, said his company would have to "Swiss cheese" the walls and break my floors to find the leak, and that he recommended a full house re-piping, and ensured me that insurance wouldn't cover the expense. I got so worked up with fear of explosion and cost.

Danny informed me right before leaving that he had an idea and wanted to change out my laundry room valve that supplied the dryer. A small room that always has the doors closed and never once smelled of natural gas.

He never quoted me before doing the job. He came back and said "good news" it worked, then informed me of the $275 cost of repair.

While he was switching out the valve, I logged into the gas company site to show Danny the history of my gas bill increase only to discover that the issue was my auto payments had stopped going through. My current charges were only $25 with $430 in past due charges.

Turns out there was no reason to call done rite in the first place, I had made a very dumb move by not checking the payment history first. I knew Danny was lying about the laundry room leak immediately since he initially said that my appliances and valve were fine.

But the valve had already been replaced at that point. I spoke with the manager who said Danny is trustworthy (again see Danny V's yelp review, and you decide for yourself) and that he took Danny's side in this matter.

The manager gave an "explanation" that would be hard for any non-plumber to prove wrong. The only people who know I was flat out lied to are me, Danny and the manager.

"To help me out" the manager knocked $100 off of my $560 bill for work that I did not need. He said that I had to pay for the cost of the parts and labor involved [in swindling me] Danny asked me to write a review before he left so he can get a bonus, and gave me his business card.

Here ya go Danny V., as promised. We got a new washer / dryer, but when it was delivered, they discovered that the water was leaking from the valve so I needed it fixed.

After trying to get quotes from several handymen, and having slow responses, we decided to get it "done right"! I sent a message, got a response, and all within 2 hours, Christian showed up ready to get it done. He also hooked up the gas line to the dryer for us.

While he was here, I asked some general questions I've had about our plumbing and he was happy to answer them. Overall, it was a good experience from initial contact to completion and now I've got them bookmarked for next time.

The communication was great through text and emails - "job scheduled", "Christian will be there at 10", "on his way", etc. Dave is great! I called because my water softener wouldn't shut off and instead of charging me to come out and see it, he walked me through step by step on how to shut it off myself over the phone.

He could have easily offered to send someone out and charged me for a quote, but he saved me time, money, and a huge headache. I truly appreciate his honesty and help! I'll definitively be calling him when I'm ready to change my water softener or for any other plumbing issue.

Our kitchen sink was not draining despite our attempts at troubleshooting. We contacted Done-Rite Plumbing early morning on a Saturday over a holiday weekend, and they promptly responded and sent someone over later that afternoon.

Christian was very professional, assessed the issues, explained it to us in detail, and laid out the cost to resolve. Thanks to his expertise and efficient work, our sink was working and we have not had any further issues with it.

I refused to pay the money to have a professional come and unclog it. So I put copper sulfate crystals for a few weeks, but nothing worked.

I ended up having to call Danny and he fixed it in a few minutes. It was my connection from my clean out that had roots that came in between the ABS connector.

I called them to come install a water line for my fridge, and Danny came out to give me an estimate. Not only did he do that, but he notified me of water damage under the sink that had started with the previous owners of the home.

Since we just purchased the house, he recommended us to another company who has been helping us with the restoration of the whole kitchen. Not only did Danny do a thorough inspection, but he's been helping us out during this whole process as well.

Once the kitchen starts the reconstruction phase, we'll be having Done-Rite install our water line and reverse osmosis. I can't say enough about them and highly recommend them for all of your plumbing needs.

Today I had Done Rite Plumbing service my shower. The Technician Logan Poirier was very informative did an excellent job with the repair if replacing a shower cartridge.

He also told me the old cartridge has a life time warranty with free replacement. An earlier plumbing contractor told me they may have tocut a section of the shower wall to trace piping, replace a new valve and new water boundary.

Logan saved me over a couple thousand dollars. I have used DONE RITE plumbing a few year ago and both times received excellent service at a reasonable price.

The outdoor pipe sounded like it was running when all the valves were shut and the water heater kept running for a week. They came with the right tools to find the leak which was indeed a slab leak of the cold water line.

I was in dire need of a plumber to fix my shower P-trap drain and was fortunate enough to find Done-Rite Plumbing & Rooter, as well as right guy Danny Vellanoweth. Plumbing can be a tough and dirty job but was neat throughout the process.

I had a great experience with Logan and Victor from Done-Rite plumbing! I needed my water heater replaced and they were on time, very informative and professional.

They were also able to replace my washing machine valves during their visit. The process was less than 3 hours and it was fairly priced.

I will definitely recommend and use them again! I had to have a gas valve replaced in order to hook up new stove. I called on Monday afternoon and they were able to get me on the schedule for noon the next day.

They even texted me to let me know when their guy was on his way and included a photo so I would know him when I saw him. It was a simple, unexpected gesture that I found very thoughtful.

Dean Griggs, (Their plumber? Technician? Star employee? Not sure of his job title, but, anyway, their guy Dean) showed up on time, looked professional and was very friendly and helpful. The job I had assumed would take quite a while to complete, Dean had finished in a very few minutes.

Then he went ahead and finished hooking up my stove (saving me the additional hassle of rescheduling the original installation crew to come back out and complete the job). He even tested all of the the burners before he left.

And I should add that the price for all of this service was about 40% less than I had been expecting. So, good value, professional, friendly and efficient employee who showed up on time and went out of his way to be helpful, and, on top of all that, I received fast service on very short notice.

I couldn't ask for anything more. I highly recommend this company and will definitely use these guys in the future.

Excellent customer service! We just moved into our new house and had a plumbing issue. The home warranty company sent out a guy who shut off our water in the city sidewalk, then left.

By the time he left it was after hours, and that company had no emergency line. I sent a message to Done-Rite Plumbing through Yelp and got an instant response.

David called and said he'd walk us through turning it back on to save us the expenses, even when he realized it wasn't the main valve out front and involved the sidewalk valve. Dave stayed on the phone with us, and patiently walked us through all the steps while we were out in the pouring rain.

Ultimately it turns out we needed the city to come out. We were going to disconnect the call because of how much time we were taking, but he insisted on staying on with us to see if things were working.

When we realized they weren't, he had the city contact information pulled up to provide us. City is coming out now to turn the water back on.

Although we didn't use his service today, we know who we will be calling for all future plumbing needs! David saved us $200+ that other companies were quoting and was empathetic to the issues we experienced with the home warranty's repair company. Cannot say enough good things.

They solved our issue with fair pricing and great customer service! I had possibly a bad toilet flange causing a leak from the second floor toilet to the ceiling below. I wanted someone to come take a look, the same day if possbile.

Called Done-Rite and they were able to send someone right away (15-20min). The tech, Logan P., arrived and troubleshot my problem.

He then explained my repair options. The repair I chose could take about a couple hours to complete, but since it was late in the afternoon, Logan recommended doing it the next day, which was OK with me.

I was his first appt of the next day and he came back at 8:15 as he promised. He cut out the bad flange and installed a new one so that the new one was even with the floor.

The old flange was sitting too low below the floor, so maybe that was causing the wax ring not to seal good and cause a leak. Once he was done with the flange, he reinstalled the toilet, and performed mulitple flush checks to ensure there were no leaks.

He worked fast, and the quallty of his work was good. There was a lot of ABS pipe "sawdust" on the floor since he had to cut the old flange out, but he cleaned up afterwards and you couldn't tell any work was done- it was nice and clean.

The pricing was reasonable for the work done. I usually do a lot of DIY repairs on the house, but I wasn't comfortable working on a second floor toilet flange, where if I messed up, I could flood the ceiling below, so that's why I called a plumbing company.

Overall, I was extremely happy with the company in setting up the appointment and the pricing( and with the invoice, Logan attached pictures of the work, before and after, so I'd have a record of it), and extremely happy with the service provided by Logan. I will continue to use Done-Rite in the future.

Arrived 2 Hali's after call on Saturday Great job! Bailed me out after my DIY effort The owner was fast to respond to my initial call and made sure I was accommodated in a timely manner. Logan came out to replace the hoses on my washing machine.

He took the time to explain exactly what needed to be done, how long the procedure would take, and what it would cost. He even cleaned up all of the lint sitting behind the washer after pulling it out from the back of the wall.

Thanks donerite team. Called Done-Rite Saturday morning because our shower and toilet was not draining properly.

We've had issues in the past and had plumbers come out to snake our sewer line to the main. On this particular day, it was the day of my mother's funeral and we were having a reception later on in the day.

So frantically I called a few plumbers that morning to see if we could have someone come out asap. I spoke to Dave and he was very kind and was able to schedule me in the next hour.

They were able to clear the line so that we could have our reception with no issues. They recommended that we line our sewer pipe because when video was done it had major corrosion and would cause more issues.

We also had a corroded gas line that needed to be replaced. So we scheduled to get the liner work completed the following Monday.

Logan showed up and was able to get the job done in a couple of days. They were very clean, quick and communicated very well with everything they were going to do.

Very happy with the service and work that was done. Very appreciative with the last minute help on a day that was already very difficult.

The work areas were left clean and organized better than they were before. Excellent work! Unfortunately, our house was built in the 1950s and the sewer lines were made of orangeburg pipes that were now failing.

Christian, Victor, and Arturo from Done-Rite did a great job of replacing the orangeburg using the "bursting" technique to install new poly pipe that should last for many decades without problems. We appreciate their professional and courteous manner and how they were able to get the job done in one day.

Shower valve was broken and he came and changed out the cartridge put everything back together and was very nice and clean. He wore shoe covers which is very important because I have black wood floors.
