I spoke to Chris Castro very nice guy I explained to him what had happened and he didn't hesitate to help me. I sent him pictures of the installation and he replied back with information and instructions on how to run my tankless heater correctly.
Also he went out of his way to help me fix this free of charge over the phone. I will definitely recommend him to friends and family.
In the middle of the isolation of the pandemic, my tankless Rinnai water heater went kaput from wear and tear. I called Chris late at night based on a referral from the manufacturer.
He walked me through some tests over the phone. And then he swung into action, finding a new model first thing in the morning, despite the constraints of the current circumstance, and brought it over to install.

Needed a Rinnai expert with up to date technical expertise and and large volume of installations so I called Rinnai and they referred me to John Castro plumbing. Wanted the model with the recirculation pump the RUR 199, which can be a bit challenging depending on the plumbing of your house.
Chris was punctual organized, and knowledgeable on his installation. Most important he is honest and flexible and will give great suggestions.
He cares about the installation and in my case he checked and tightened pipes throughout the house. I also love the baseball size expansion and the free ionizer that prevents scaling.
Also his pricing is unbeatable and he uses quality materials. John was fantastic! On time, neat, his knowledge of tankless water heaters is invaluable.
I will be using him on another project. If he can't help you, he knows someone that can in a pinch.
Didn't use the service, my parents delayed the work to a later date. Not ready to get the work done yet.

Went to Rinnai's website looking for answers at 8:00 at night. They redirected me to John Castro Plumbing.
Chris called me within 2 minutes, after 15 minutes of exchanging a few texts and pictures of the set up, he had walked me through the troubleshooting of the error codes that the previous guy could not resolve. Chris went above and beyond and provided answers to other random plumbing questions I had.
Make these guys your first call. Tim One of the last good guys out there! My tankless WH began to have problems about a month ago, it would work for about 10 minutes and then shutdown giving us an error code.
I would have to turn the water off, wait for about 10 seconds, and turn it back on. It made taking showers miserable because I would have to cycle between hot water and cold water every time it shut down.
I found a few plumbers that were recommended from the Rinnai manufacturer website. John Castro Plumbing was one of them.
We texted for a while regarding my WH problems, the make and model, and the error code. He told me that he was booked for a few days, but wanted to give some suggestions on what he thought the problem was, based on his experience.
Basically, he gave me a few ideas on how to fix the problem (if I was handy). Well, I am - so I followed some directions and a YouTube video and bam! Problem solved and no parts needed.
He didn't have to do that, he could have come out (service charge), inspected my unit (insert fee here) and made the repairs (maybe new parts). I fully expected this repair to cost several hundred dollars.
Instead he unselfishly helped diagnose a known issue, ensured that I was capable of doing minor repairs and gave me direction. Like I said, LAST OF THE GOOD GUYS! I'll be sending him a little something as gift .

This past Saturday evening, we discovered a leak in our old 75-gallon conventional water heater. I called Chris on Sunday.
On Monday morning (which was a holiday), he arrived at our home on time and spent the entire day removing the old water tank (which I can tell you was a monstrous task) and installing our new Rennai tankless water heater system. Despite the difficulty of the work, Chris wore a mask the entire time.
By the end of the day on Monday, the system was up and running and working beautifully. It is clearly evident that Chris takes great pride in his work and is extremely careful and precise.
He answered all of our questions with patience and clarity. Chris is a total expert.
It is hard to imagine you will find anyone better in all of LA. Not only did he respond to me faster than any other "24h emergency plumbing" service I reached out to, he walked me through various steps for well over an hour at 9 am on a Sunday morning, eventually leading me to restore normal functioning of the tankless water heater.
John was willing to help a total stranger who troubled him on his work line, and provide the very services he earns a living from for free. Extremely knowledgeable, over and above helpful, and generous.
