That led to the sewer. My hair stood on end when I saw that.
Then Jacob took the the pipes out from under the sink. None of them were glued together or screwed together!!! He fixed that totally! He even made sure the pipes for the dishwasher were up to standard.
Then he had to cut holes in a few places in the wall to bring the pipes up to code. Then he went into the crawl space and found where there was no pipe in a place....

I cold tell from talking to him and the questions he asked about the age of my house and the location of the leak that he knew his stuff. He offered to do a free inspection the very next morning and showed up on time.
When looking at it we determined the wall needed to be opened up and that it may need to be opened to the ceiling. BUT, because my house was built in 1966, he could not do it until it was tested for asbestos and led paint.
What? Really? I was skeptical but went with it as he said if it tests positive and abatement was needed, homeowners insurance would cover that part, as well as restoration. The results came back positive for asbestos as well as a some led in the old, original paint even though it had been painted over.
And the drywall was very moist, along with the framing. Turns out I had a pinhole leak that had been going on for a while but had gotten worse.
He recommended replacing the old copper cold and hot line that had deteriorated (not just patch it) and might as well do the rusty, led drain pipe while exposed. I looked at their condition and agreed, as I don't want to go through this again.

We WILL be calling you again for our home and apartment repairs! Garbage disposal wasn't working, so called a few places to see who would be available to come and look at it. Jacob was the only one who walked me through a quick small home fix over the phone.
It worked and saved me the time and money of having someone come look at it. He is very honest and helpful, I will 100% use him if I ever need plumbing services.
