I've had some really negative experiences with several local firms, the worst of which rhymes with "freakin." As such, I'd let a number of items go--you know the stuff: garbage disposal, faucets, toilet repair (OK, I have several--no need to worry here). And, holiday entertaining being what it is, I really needed to find a good plumber.
I actually called JTP based on his Yelp reviews and I am a complete convert. He: 1) arrived on time; 2) was a very amiable sort; 3) is reasonably priced; 4) gave honest feedback on the crappy faucet I had purchased from Home Depot; and 5) came back in a very timely manner to install the better faucet I had ordered (with his help) from Amazon.
I simply can't recommend him enough and have gone so far as to recommend him to my condo management company and the other tenants in my building. Good guy, good work, good prices.

The first time, he was quite friendly and helpful and I thought he charged a reasonable fee to fix my kitchen faucet that was leaking. I recommended him to my tenants when we had a noisy/creaky bathroom faucet that needed to be repaired.
However, this second time, he not only did a cursory check of my bathroom hardware, but rounded up his time. According to my tenant, he was there from 4:52 to 5:12 (20 mins approx) and charged us for half an hour plus tax.
For turning on a faucet and a visual inspection, we were charged $98.64. I will upload a photo of the bill.

Loved him will always use him! We recently hired Joe to fix a leaking bathtub drain in our old house in Fremont. He was a really good listener and good at communicating problems and dedicated to finding the solution.
He seemed very concerned about limiting the cost of the repair and not wasting time and was happy to add a few odds-and-ends repair projects (helping with grout on our tub that had mildewed and partially fallen off). I have a rental (3-story townhome) in the North Seattle area and the master shower drain was getting slow. I called Joe up and he was responsive, explained his rate system (a fixed rate for first 15 mins and a smaller rate for every 15 mins thereafter), gave me an estimate that proved accurate and cheaper than his worst case scenario and he was easy to deal with.
He has relatively limited hours because I think he drives from the Seatac area but I'd rather go with someone who does good work and charges a fair price than someone who's always available but overcharges and doesn't do a good job. He gave my tenants a time window between 10-12 and showed up at 1045.

Best of the Best! We have had multiple plumbing experiences with a house that's 70 yrs old. We got Joe's name from a neighbor who highly recommended him.
Joe got here early, spent time to make a correct diagnosis and fixed our tub leak. It was a gasket around the overflow drain.
Fixed that and other problems and was very congenial and told us that we didn't need the work that other plumbers had suggested. We definitely recommend Joe.

My wife and I just bought a house in Seattle. Of course, there were some small things that weren't perfect, like our valves for the washer had slow leaks coming from them.
The valves were set deep into the wall, limited access. I brought a photo to ACE and asked how they thought I could get to them to try to fix the leak - they said replace the valves.

I called 6 other highly rated plumbers and of the ones who were willing to give me a quote or ballpark price via a phone call or email with photos of the set up, rather than a $50/100 in person consult/visit, Joe was second cheapest overall and cheapest who installed Bradford Whites.

More details: I contacted Joe through his website and he emailed me shortly afterwards. I needed a pressure reducing valve installed (after purchasing a new house, which I knew had too high of water pressure, I discovered I was lacking that key valve!).
He was familiar with my neighborhood and knew that pressures in this area are typically high due to being on the lower side of one of Seattle's major hills. He let me know he thought the job could wait given the current psi, which I really appreciated.
However, I decided to have the work done anyways. We scheduled a time, and he asked me to verify some info to ensure he had the right equipment day of.

He promised me he could walk me through fixing it on my own. Who would do that?! I didn't believe I could do it on my own, but he patiently walked me through it and, sure enough, we now have a functioning shower once more! He saved us a lot of money and time and we really appreciate his help.
I wish I could do more to say how much we are glad we discovered Joe. We will definitely use him for any plumbing issues that arise in the future.
So should you! I had him down to fix the Johnson T coming out of my dishwasher and he found the jam up. He was the most honest plumber I have ever delt with.

First of all, it was really interesting that he would assist/teach you how to fix/diagnose your plumbing problem first over the phone before he comes out when other plumbing companies will hardly give you (ridiculous price I might add) quote over the phone unless you pay the dispatch fee for a visit. He is reliable, friendly, does a really good job (grinder install & shower valve assembly) and his rates are great.
When I called Joe about the problem, he took the time to talk to me over the phone and get as much information as possible. What's better, he even tried to help me 'troubleshoot' what was going on in case I could fix it myself.
He came out, fixed the problem quickly, and explained to me what happened and what to do to prevent it from happening again. It is expensive, like any plumber, but I liked him and will definitely use him again.
My kitchen faucet started leaking everywhere making a huge mess. I called Joe and after assessing what the problem could be over the phone, he suggested it could be an easy fix.
He gave me some simple instructions on how to check the issue. When I called him back the next day, not sure I was doing the right steps, he walked me through it patiently and, viola! my faucet is now fixed.
Bravo to a good business person who's first thought is not to rip people off. He could have easily told me I needed a new faucet, and I would probably would have sadly been out a few hundred.

My context for plumbers is nonexistent, but Joe was prompt, friendly, and fixed the problem within the estimated time at a very reasonable price. I called Joe on Wednesday, and he came out the next day to investigate what seemed like a complicated clog.
He explained the issue and what I can do to keep it from happening again, as well as showed me what to do if it did (his advice: buy a snake). After being faced with a backed-up drain and flooding basement, Joe was worth every penny.
My experience with Joe was great! I had another company come by first and they spent a half hour checking out the problem and concluded it needed a $2K+ replacement. That's a lot so I contacted Joe.

Joe just left my home after repairing a leaky shower valve. I needed to book him 2 weeks out because he was busy, but it was worth the wait.

By comparison, I had previously used a couple of big name Seattle plumbing companies who offer next day service. They had all sorts of hidden, highly priced, objectionable and mandatory charges.
In short, they were dishonest as a means to increase their profit margins. Never again.

I contacted Joe about a toilet not flushing properly. Joe promptly responded and asked a few follow-up questions about the problem, and then recommended we replace the toilet (which worked) all for free.
I can't speak for the quality of his work, since we didn't have to use him, but his honest and accurate assessment, and willingness to provide advice even when it meant he received nothing in return was welcome and remarkable. I will be returning to Joe for any future plumbing problems I may have, and want to vouch for him to everyone scouring Yelp looking for a plumber.
Thank you! After trying for days (and multiple trips to Home Depot) to replace my toilet valve, I finally gave up and called Joe The Plumber. He called me back within minutes and was so helpful! He gave me some advice on what else to try - and it ended up working! since I can't actually rate his services (because he helped me fix it myself!), I can absolutely give him 5 starts for responsiveness, expertise, kindness and amazing customer service.
I will definitely keep his number in my phone for future reference! We had Joe the Plumber come out this evening to fix our kitchen faucet and our bathroom shower diverter. Let me say that the water flow in the kitchen faucet has never been so strong after he was done.
He's super personable and really easy to talk to. He answered a bunch of questions for us and now we know what stuff to pay attention to.
I can't say enough good things about him and his work. I feel good now that I've found a plumber who I really like and trust! We had had a kid birthday party and discovered during the party that a friend's kiddo had discovered a new trick....flushing items down the toilet.
We called Joe and he was great about responding to my emails and figuring out a date to meet. I would imagine he gets a lot of calls so I was already feeling appreciative of his communication.
He came out and worked on our toilet and was able to remove a kids toothpaste container (these are wider than adults). He didn't even have to remove the toilet which I was really surprised by and he didn't scratch our toilet with the auger.
While he was here we had him check our kitchen garbage disposal and master bath sink and shower. I added these on last minute but he was totally fine with that.
In my head I was estimating that this would be about $160 but he came in $30 under that. Woohoo! I will definitely be calling him again the next time we need plumbing help.

He didn't charge me for his time to come out and check. I also recently had a problem with my washer leaking.
I sent him a photo of where the leak was coming from, and he was able to tell me if I needed a plumber or a washing machine repair person. I called Joe and also sent an email about three pipes that are leaking in my basement.
He never contacted me. I guess my business wasn't important to him, or not a big enough job.
I would appreciate it if people would call me back and just tell me that, rather than no response at all. Joe helped us out today with shower fixture and also caught another issue that had been mentioned by another plumber who quoted us a much higher price for fixing it as well as trying very hard to convince us it should be done immediately.
